I took this in the British Museum. It's a small clay tablet from the Library of Ashurbanipal, King of Assyria (668-c. 630 BC) (there's a second, but that's not important right now).

It's blurry (because I was trying not to block other people) but the translation reads:

Belch like a drunkard, snort like a baby gazelle, until your mother comes, strokes you and picks you up. - Magic spell to make a baby sleep

It just really connected with me, that for thousands of years mothers have wanted their little ones to just go the hell to sleep.

if you're in the throes of cosmic despair i cannot recommend museums enough. art or science or history it doesn't matter. oh we're all connected, all of us and everything, throughout all time and space, and no one, no one, no one is alone? awesome. that's what i thought i just wanted to make sure.

I was having a difficult time deciding which Scout to order from. I kept scrolling the list, and found one of the scouts is named Loki! So, that was an easy decision.

It's just so wonderful to see a highly public organization supporting trans kids openly and joyfully.

I’m just a gurl from Toronto who’s just figuring life out one step at a time. I guess I don’t really do much (or at least not consistently), but I love diving into random hobbies like playing games (mostly on my PlayStation), eating, trying out new recipes, and experimenting with journaling and drawing—even if I’m not great at it.

Most of my time is spent on YouTube or binge-watching movies and shows. I’m all about chasing inspiration wherever it finds me. My current focus? Navigating life and discovering what truly makes me joyful.

I've been in a lot of museums and seen a lot of amazing historical objects. Seeing the Nebra Sky Disc was one of the most powerful experiences I've had—knowing that, thousands of years ago, someone loved the stars enough to do the work to create the Disc with the tools and techniques available to them, which wasn't easy, but they were so compelled by the beauty, they had no choice. Humans are incredible, and not so very different for all the centuries in between us.

Tim wondered where Dick was right now, and if he was laughing. His brain was lagging like a computer as he tried to process what Danny was saying, and how seriously a few of his fellow teen vigilantes were taking this.

"Some of their more common tactics are-" the chalk was picked back up, and Danny writes as he speaks.

"Manipulation, isolation, conditioning, and empathy."

Tim stares at the board, and quietly slips put his phone.

-What have I done to deserve this.
