Yk that story about a dragon that terrorized people and people ended up making up stories about why this was the natural order of things and how the dragon was doing people a favor by eating thousands everyday? I see this post as another example of this human tactic. A human sees a thing that is unpleasant and inevitable, and instead of coping with the fact that it's bad and unpleasant as it is, it makes up a story of how it is Supposed To Be That Way. To feel good about being in a bad situation.

This person in the picture hasn't had a lot of luck feeding themselves every day. So instead of acknowledging that they are just had at hunting and gathering, they make up a myth: humans just aren't SUPPOSED to eat every day. It's not me who failed, it's not me who had bad luck, it's just the Order Of Things.

But the other people know about that tendency, and they also know what really happened. So they point it out to them: "You are delusional, and there is no reason for a person to starve other than your own failing in providing for yourself. Your statement is bullshit, as it is just a self-delusion for comfort."

I had heard of toxic masculinity before, but this was one of the first times I think I've ever encountered delusional masculinity.

At Wednesday meetings at work, when we go around and give project updates, we also answer a popcorn question. This week it was, "What is the largest animal you think you could take in a fight?" And good lord. Here are some of the answers men in my department gave:

While I'm thinking about Matt's cubito and being able to watch parts of his subathon this weekend:

Q!Bagi refers to the thing that follows her around as the god of the obscure since all/most of the cc's irl partners are represented as gods in the qsmp (most notably Kristen and Mine) but Matt's persona is a demon and I would find that so much more interesting.

People have mentioned the fact that she seems to have some affinity for attracting demons - dating q!Tina, bbfs with q!BBH, friends and co-mothers with q!Mouse, having q!Scottonauta on her purgatory team - so I'd find it very interesting if her 'deity' was also a demon.

Like at this point it's mentioned so much by fans that they have to do something with it and just canonising that the biggest voice in q!Bagi's head is a demon would add more layers of questions (and possibly answers) of why every demon likes her. And it's so fun to theorise about demons.

Hey so I'm not really gonna answer this beyond 1) I don't really use Tumblr for debates/arguments about inflammatory topics and 2) I'm purposely ignorant to the entire outrage surrounding AI art because there are too many things demanding "action" and "engagement" from the general public on any given day at this point that I literally have zero left in the tank.

I'm not defending AI art but I'm literally just saying it's not one of the things that "enrage" me as of late. I'm more worried about things going on in my personal life and the current political climate of the US rn tbh and I come here to Tumblr to be horny about fictional characters because that's a better coping mechanism than drinking myself into a stupor or taking bong rip after bong rip to the face.

That being said I subscribe to artists on patreon that create their own art and will always 100% support artists who draw for a living.

I want to believe that Alexandros was not a horrible husband (giving him a fighting chance here) and he didn't just grab Darion and went to dunk him in the river, but it's something Elena told him to do and he did, both of them unaware that she will die by the time he comes back.

Like with how often he mentions that he loves her and such, I really want to think he wasn't that careless with his wife who just gave birth, though if he was, that would also be in line with his lack of awareness at his own actions and how delusional he is that he was always right and nothing that happened was in any way his fault.
