what if dragons studied humans
Adolescent human female, attempting to fix her nest in a spur of the moment. We haven’t seen this much activity from this specific human at this time of night, so this is something we may wanna keep an eye on. I named the human Pom-pom, by the way. I’ll be referring to her as Pom-pom from now on, and I’ll be putting the name in records in the morning. Pom-pom is exhibiting frustrated behavior, rocking back and forth and huffing while trying to fix her nest. I’ve noted that this human has become somewhat neglectful of her sleeping area, and furthermore her den, likely due to possible stress. Funny that she favors space over accessibility, but still gets frustrated when she can’t access the corners of her nest easily. Pom-pom has finished fixing her nest, and has lain back down to sleep. We will continue to monitor her in the morning.

My new favorite film genre is Ferdinand Kingsley Lying in Bed Looking Sad. It's Hob 1889-2022.

One of the more confusing thing about humans in my opinion is the way their society has villainized ageing. Is the collection of life experience and cumulative knowledge really something to shame? Is the way a body and face changes with a lifetime of experiences and movement not, in itself a beautiful process?

i've been doing a lot of archive research and i think the reason the open-mouthed smile died out is because in the 1990s and 2000s people would frequently get food stuck in their teeth. this is evidenced by much of the media of the period featuring a frequent gag where a character would react to another's shocked outburst by asking, "do i have something between my teeth?" this cultural artifact is what i believe to have lead to the development of the heavily slime-based diet of the 2030's to eliminate the need for teeth. this is why our contemporary humans no longer have teeth. though one would never realize this unless you were able to pry one open.

Studying archeology as someone who feeds herself off fake scenarios is sick as hell because you HAVE to put scenarios with the pieces you’ve collected and the context you have in your hands. I have to illustrate and investigate the ‘could have been’s, the conditional realm our past is attached to, and honor my curiosity with acknowledging a past that is either cool or horrifying to create a present that shows this past for the future’s education and knowledge. What’s better than that?!

I don't have time to go into detail, but it is because of how we disconnect with people who lived way before our time and how history is told.
Like history studies is learning the hot gossip of the past with the drama and all that pizzaz.
And because of that and our surface understanding and the way we can't actually interract with these people they don't feel real? You know? Like they are just fictional.
Also the human brain can't understand the difference between fictional and real people that good so you will mourn if your favorite character died.
If somebody finds this, please give a more professional explanation.
being a fan of a character is sometimes “look at how complex he is. he’s so intricate and his story is so tragic and he’s so much more complicated than people give him credit for” and sometimes it’s like “haha look at this failure of a person. I wanna throw him off a cliff and see what happens”

Human Study Part 2: Anxiety
Adolescent human female, exhibiting signs of anxiety. She has totally cleaned her den, stopping periodically to get snacks. Pom-pom’s almost totally cleared out her food supply (including her stash) in a matter of hours, and we’re gonna have to replenish her supply soon. Pom-pom has also been making more noises than recently, and we have reason to believe she has some sort of behavioral condition due to the fact she behaves much differently than the rest of the humans. I’ve been trying to interact with her in a separate enclosure, but she either runs away or bites me. I have been using the enclosures with voluntary exits to help keep her from getting too stressed, and I doubt it’s been working. I’ll cease enclosure tests with Pom-pom for a while.

Further human studies.
There's a Flickr account based in Japan, that posts all of their images public domain-and many of them are of cosplayers from conventions. Which are pretty great for poses and clothing studies!

Human Studies: Ferdinand Kingsley's Nails
Me, working on Happy Hob after days of Sad Hob, Miserable Hob, Hob Angst, Tortured Hob, Lonely-Pining-Weeping Hob: So... it would be inexcusably rude to point out the Ferdinand Kingsley bites his nails, right? Like that would be totally uncalled for, even if it's very very cute and very Hob Waiting Nervously For His Stranger To Return His Affections Or Storm Out Again... right?
Does it help if I also bite my nails — & compulsively pick at my lips & skin to the point where I've taken to wearing gloves at my desk in an attempt to stop, and I swear to Murphy I'm not making fun here?
