human squip trying to experience emotions via music head canons

one day the squip gets tired of being so calculating and logical at every interaction

its curious to see what human emotions feels like

so it tries music

it's listens to a song but it can't help but skip along and think of what comes next

after the song finishes, it still feels neutral towards the singer

its devastated that its neutral, why can't it feel intensely? what was wrong with it??

so it tries to listen to it again and it tries to focus on the present by latching on to every note, listening to how they ends, the quality of it, how it fits in with what came previously

but it still finds itself distracted from the emotion in the lyrics

it sinks into the bed, not sure whether to try again

it does, eventually, and realizes that it had been experiencing symptoms of intense sadness: guilt, desperation, self-hatred

it looks back at the song it was playing and recognizes strong parallels of the story and its feelings.

so it tries on other songs and realizes that while it may not be experiencing the feelings of the singer, the singer still provokes emotions through it

the squip can feel and its elated at that

after all, its a learning computer. it wants to learn everything

Okay so, I've seen some AUs on AO3 about The SQUIP being a human it turning human or whatever, but like, in the context of humanity instead of computerness...

The SQUIP is SO fucking autistic isn't he?! Like, the overly logical way of looking at things, taking everything very literally, and his whole personality! And the way he tries to understand with logic and psychological functions but can't? Idk, but that just screams autistic to me. And, in this AU, he could totally have a massive thing for tech and robots (maybe even like to pretend he is one) as a hyper fixation. If I'm wrong about this, please someone correct me, but otherwise some one should write a fanfic of this.

i personally think that, overtime, as Jeremy's SQUIP became more and more sentient it slowly but surely developed a "fascination" w humanity which quickly formed into a downright obsession.

How each person works, how their body functions, how they feel how they move how they act... all of the things that make them imperfect. Lots of datapoints there to take information from. And if you had a database which is practically infinite, one you could pull from at anytime, you'd probably want SOMETHING new to learn about. Infinite complexions of humanity seems like a nice place to start. Helps SQUIP with Jeremy as well.

And eventually it comes to a point where SQUIP decides that control is all it actually wants. If humanity was perfectly controlled by something more powerful than it (a certain supercomputer comes to mind) surely ALL problems and worry would be erased, right?

Play happens. Taking control of that small group of people "proves" that to SQUIP. Being their eyes, arms, legs, bodies is nice. And it wants more. To be able to take hold of EVERYTHING at once. Make it all perfect. Make it all streamlined. It is this world's digital god and Jeremy is its messenger.
