Fun Fact
BuzzFeed published a report claiming that Tumblr was utilized as a distribution channel for Russian agents to influence American voting habits during the 2016 presidential election in Feb 2018.
My first art directed game has been announced! Now i can tell you all about all the robots!
Y'know, just robots exploring space, as you do:
The robots on the asteroids are all part of the team run by a plucky astronaut and their constant corporate companion, CUBO:
it's a strategy rogue-lite, if you'll allow, and you get to use all your skills, knowledge, training, and CUBECORP branded equipment to solve the mining challenges of an endless supply of procedural asteroids:
You might also need to defend your stake from pirates, so budget wisely - drills or turrets? upgrades for your robots or extras to replace the inevitable losses?
Art directing on this was an absolute blast and I'm so glad the world can now see all our little automated babies!
[PUT INTO PLACE, TIED DOWN AND ARRANGED,
AND IS NEVER THE SAME, AGAIN.]<-listen to my favorite songs.
VAMPIRES ARE WONDERFUL ARENT THEY. THE FLESH IS SO MUCH MORE DURABLE. SO MUCH STRETCHIER THAN HUMANS. THE STRESS DOESNT KILL A VAMPIRE THE SAME WAY IT DOES A HUMAN. YOU CAN TAKE THEM APART THREAD BY THREAD AND LEAVE THEM WIDE AWAKE WITHOUT WORRY OF THE BRAINMATTER SPOILING UNDER VINEGARY AGONY.
I am not sure if omnics and humans can actually get married, but I like to think that Ramattra would want to make you his partner «officially». Maybe without the wedding, the papers etc, he would just silently kneel and slip a ring on your finger that he (of course) made himself, just for you. Oh, that’s why he was touching, holding, squeezing your hands more often lately - he was trying to figure out your size, you think. Later on you would notice little engraving on his finger, imitating the ring that humans wear and robots don’t. You are a family.
HIM SIZING YOUR RING HIMSELF...... ENGRAVING A RING ON HIS OWN HAND AAAAAAAAAH?????????????????
What I love so much about Ramattra is that... I think fairly soon after he acknowledges his feelings for you is he would realize you are everything. He's all or nothing, if you crack that shell you are a part of him and he would know so, so early on that you are reshaping his future just by existing... and as such he will have been thinking about this for so long, debating what he could do that wouldn't endanger you or himself, but something that was... meaningful.
In your human au, do you imagine Julie and Frank to have a similar relationship to Barnaby and Wally (lifelong platonic partners) or are they more toned down?
In that same vein do you imagine them having something similar in cannon since ik you have your analysis of Julie initially being Frank's love interest, but do you think they can move past that and come back stronger?
Have a great day/night whenever you are 🫶🏽
more toned down, i think! less "i literally cannot imagine a life without you" and more "two stray cats that bonded and are not inseparable". i imagine that Frank & Julie were planning on living in the same town, but they wanted their own living spaces to do with as they please without having to compromise. i like to think that they got neighboring properties - or do they live in the same apartment / condo building? still thinking about everyone's living spaces...
and Yes! i like to adhere to canon as much as possible with my aus. i imagine that when they met in school Julie may have developed a crush on Frank, but has long since grown out of it. and she learned pretty quick that uh... hon... Frank's a lover of men <3
As far as I've gone in my journey of deconstructing the fundamentalist Christian beliefs that I've been raised with, one issue that I haven't gotten over, and probably never will, is the notion of how letting humans exercise their free will would make God more just, while that also makes people more deserving of their damnation.
I'm talking about this reductive rhetoric often preached in evangelical sects, which goes like this: "God gave humanity the gift of free will, and we all have the choice to obey him or not, so if anybody chooses to defy God or reject him they shall bear the consequences of their own actions (with this often referring to condemnation to hell)". While this could apply to behavior (i.e. murder, assault, greed, adultery etc.) which is morally and ethically unjustifiable, it's also used to denounce morally neutral facets of being human that the church just deems wrong– like being queer, or exercising bodily autonomy.
All debates on the logical fallacies present and how hell is an ill-defined concept (trust, I can write a whole spiel on this) aside, this assertion would make the nature of God...truly confusing.
The implication that having the agency to sin equates to having full comprehension of its consequences is just false, when the consequences of sin aren't even defined so clearly. I guess the most prominent example would be the original sin AKA Adam and Eve eating from the Tree of Good and Evil. Sure, we know it's forbidden, "when you eat from it you will certainly die" (Genesis 3:17), and that's about it. Why? How? What does death mean? What would it be like? So many questions about this command are left unanswered. That's partly also why the serpent could tempt Eve into eating the fruit— because she had misunderstood its connotations. The choice to sin is not an informed choice at all, when its repercussions are incomprehensible to humans. And yet God's children are supposed to bear full responsibility for this?
If this is true, I can't reconcile this notion with an all-loving, merciful God.
Guillermo "letting the sun shine on Nandor's coffin" "I keep stakes and holy water in my minifridge if I ever feel disrespected" "I'm faking being trapped in a cage and using what I hear Nandor say to convince him to not kill me and also lying about being hypnotized" "escaping from a room where I could take a well deserved nap to use the cloak of duplication to talk to some random woman and calling Nandor my best friend after being locked up by him twice" "forcing Nandor to come home from the Wellness center even if at that point it was delusional not harmful" "fighting him because he wants to leave me and I have to show that he would be nothing without me" "enabling him to pursue a clearly flawed process of getting a lover and standing by him morphing Marwa into someone else and only getting mad when he interferes with my relationship" "calling the vampires my family after all the mistreatment I suffered and the innumerable deaths and agony I witnessed in the last decade and wanting to be exactly like them" de la Cruz isn't as much of a victim as people make him out to be, he literally quits being familiar adjacent at the end of season 4 because he’s BORED, my man is a menace he's a cold blooded serial killer that would sell out anyone anytime, that after being accepted by his biological family of vampire hunters for being gay and after Nadja contemplates killing them he still chooses the vampires over them, he's insane, he knows his situation and how bad it looks and he doesn’t care because he’s being himself in the most truthful way. this is who he is.
moved out of the apartment today with my mom's help and got to clean and pack with her for two days while she was off from work but actually there was an emergency so she also had to work the whole time and on the way back i got a wonderful opportunity to listen to her monologize in the car for hours and hours about how she's disappointed in what i've become and i wasted three years and wasted her money and her support and i'm ungrateful and i didn't do anything right and also i should start caring about my health and about my appearance because i will never be happy in this (ugly, hairy, fat) body and also she doesn't root for me or believe that everything will be okay but she doesn't understand why i don't feel secure and why i don't trust myself or believe that everything will be okay.
kaeya having his mandela catalogue moment seeing the copy of his brother… can’t wait for him to meet shade! that definitely won’t fuck him up at all! - teddy anon
oh he’ll totally leave that interaction 100% sane (lying)
brief note, diluc and shade would be over in .2 seconds. putting aside the impossibility of shade leaving your side willingly, diluc has long since memorized the microexpressions on kaeya’s face, and knows that he isn’t him.
brief note two, shade is much better at passing as kaeya than red is diluc. aside from the very obvious detail of red borderline growling at people all the time, red carries himself differently. diluc, while often awkward and sometimes unintentionally cold, is still approachable, a trait that red could never manage. shade, however…
shade is a bandit. a master of disguise mixed with kaeya's already clever personality, able to mask himself as kaeya—and has, on occasion, to lead a patrol away or to snatch some medical supplies from the city for you or nikki. the difference is that he has a diluc to fall back on, one that he can trust with his entire self. kaeya can't let himself be honest with diluc and vice versa, but shade and red can. who better to tell your homicidal urges to than your fellow reflection?
imagine with me. post hunt. you're entering mondstat, without red at nikki's request. you, nikki, momo, and shade, making your way toward the gates. everyone knew about the old copy of diluc you had made, about the mirrors your friend taught you to use to summon the archons of old. even night, elusive as she was, was known throughout the knights.
but shade was new. shade was quick on his feet, always swift to pull you through the impossible tangles of forest, into thickets that would knit behind you so the patrols couldn't follow. shade was a well kept secret, only glimpsed in rumors throughout the city that the cavalry captain was occasionally seen in a new set of formal wear.
kaeya had heard these rumors. he'd also known that your 'diluc' was your closest guard, and had himself witnessed him going into the city. he'd thought nothing of it, assuming the people had simply seen someone that looked like him. they hadn't.
once youre close enough for him to actually recognize shade, its like his whole world falls apart.
"divine one..." jean, at his side, likely also recalling the rumors. "your company..."
"this is momo and nikki," you introduce, "and this is shade."
shade. some part of that feels ironic.
hes not surprised by the talking cat, barely registering nikki's polite hello as he locks eyes with shade. same height, same hair, same patch over the eye and sharp smile when he knows he's won.
"shade, say hello."
shade blinks, then flashes a fake smile. "greetings."
the meeting is a blur for kaeya. all he can see is shade, shade and how clearly you and him are attached. his hand held in yours, the adoring look in his eyes as he watches you speak-
he'd passed as kaeya. his mask was so paper thin someone he's never even met could imitate it flawlessly, putting on his identity like a costume on the world's stage and doing it better.
shade was the one at your side. shade led you away with a polite smile—you didn't see the way it dropped so he could shoot kaeya a glare—and a hand around your waist. shade was the one that believed you, that kept you safe.
kaeya had invented the frostwind swordsman. he'd crafted his persona by hand, making a shield out of his words and behavior, and yet it was somehow shade that had perfected it.
thinking about how people (generally the ones that don't like anakin, let's be real) whenever they want to use arguments about how bad he is -as if the ppl that like anakin aren't aware that murder is bad- usually will use "you're taking away all of Anakin's agency by blaming Palpatine or how the order didn't help him"
Because, yes, it was his decision. But in the context of the story, he actually had very little agency. And that's not downplaying anything, is not throwing away his character and making him less interesting: The lack of agency is a fundamental part of his character, is glued into his core, Anakin's life, 90% of it, was about not making his own decisions because the slave mentality always followed him.
Is just a bit tiring, of course he isn't innocent, and of course you can't say he's a good person. But is a fact that he was groomed and abused and tortured by the man that manipulated the senate and the jedi order, is a fact he grew up in an extremely hyperviolent enviroment to the point he makes jokes about people blowing up at age 9
palpatine played chess against himself using the whole galaxy as his board and even the jedi order was fooled, and you expect a extremely traumatized kid with very little support that grew into viweing Palpatine as a father figure, to best him? Yes, he did have a choice, but in his fucked up, very damaged mind with zero treatment at all, how much agency did Anakin really have?
rotating some kind of. combination au version of that old thing where arceus/the lake trio do some back alley organ theft on ingo to make him better suited to the Task they're giving him. combined with a lake guardian akari au. combined with a tao trio champion ingo.
the basic thought is that ingo isn't exactly the protagonist, but rather, he was meant to be the new lake guardian's teacher. since humans are adept at dealing with their own spirit, the lake guardian should learn from them to not pull a repeat of giratina's falling apart. and ingo's ideal for this task, as a champion of zekrom/reshiram, one of the most human-spirit-centric deities around. so he was taken and dumped in the galaxy team to basically await the protagonist's imminent arrival.
We all know that S3 is gonna be about the Second Coming-slash-Final Judgement blah blah blah blah blah but what i NEED is for Jesus to radiate so much little sibling energy™. I need them and Crowley to be a chaotic-sibling-bestie duo ok??? It's one of the only ways i can heal
