Considering that the Broadway Musical of Andrew Lloyd Webber's "The Phantom of The Opera had already ended its performance last year, I've recently dug out to what happens to be (if not) the Most Obscure Phantom Adaptation ever that's more drawn to inspiration rather than an Adaptation titled, "A Monster In Paris". Why hardly known as the "Less Phantom Adaptation" ever? Well, you see, it's mainly one of those Both Original/Inspired Adaptational Story that does quite have a few of its similarities from Gaston Leroux's work (compare with Most Famous Inspirational Adaptational-Based Films like with The Lion King (Hamlet) and even Frozen (The Snow Queen)). Anyways, yes, I am one of the few people who do consider this Film as a Phantom Adaptation despite many of its Changes from the Source Material, but it still felt a bit more of a Comedic version of the Horror Story itself (much like with Rocket Pictures' Gnome version of One of the Famous Shakespeare Tragedies, "Romeo and Juliet"). Though, like with "Gnomeo and Juliet", it did flesh-out more of the Characters' Personalities and did clean out most of the Dark stuff as it does play out as a Friendly Version of My Most Favorite Gothic Horror Novel of all time. Here I drew Lucille and Francoeur together, because while if rather not if I do like this Ship or Not, I consider their own Relationship more as a Platonic version of the Death/Maiden trope (that, or because maybe I just have no idea rather or not if Francoeur is already supposed to be an Anthro, despite being an Insect). Side Note; I am Perfectly Fine with Human/Anthro pairs.

But also, Another sidenote; Did you know that this Movie was directed by one of the Few Folks that made "Shark Tale"? 🤡 Lucille and Francoeur (c) Bibo Films

But no one talks about how Lucille was definitely into Francoeur. And yk what I don’t even blame her he was really cute for a 7 foot tall flea.

I never understood why people ship Francour and Lucille like I get it's based on Phantom of the Opera and they have kind of a Beauty and the Beast thing going on but oh my god... HE'S A FUCKING FLEA! I mean their relationship is obviously supposed to be platonic but people think it's supposed to be romantic and also involve a love triangle or something, huh?

Just because it's based on Beauty and the Beast doesn't mean she's supposed to fuck the flea in the end! I mean Barry from the Bee Movie is more anthro than Francour is and he can even talk but he's a literal fucking bee in that movie and people call the relationship between him and Vanessa disturbing but when it's a giant flea who can't even talk it's okay? I mean people can ship it if they want but it's still weird, I mean I don't mind interspecies relationships but he wasn't even mutated or something as he still has the same level of intelligence that he had as a flea and the only thing that changed is that he can sing and that he's huge now. It would be like shipping Scooby with Velma even though he can talk he's still a regular dog in that universe or if you shipped Iago with Jafar just because he can talk as he's still a fucking parrot! Oh and did I already mention Bee Movie?

I get there are weird in universe exceptions and stuff but the movie clearly takes place in a mostly real world setting so having her being in a relationship with a flea seems kind of disturbing. I also don't get how people interpret the movie as romantic when they're clearly supposed to be friends, I even saw someone who thought the movie promoted beastiality because they thought Francour and Lucille were supposed to be in a relationship which is so funny to me and there were so many people trying to explain that they were not.

I have also seen people disappointed that she ended up with Raoul at the end instead of the flea which is so fucking funny like I get Raoul is kind of pathetic and I understand why people would be disappointed that she just ends up with the conventional human guy in the end instead of the beast but he's a fucking flea and the fact people were upset they didn't end up together is so funny.

I also liked your comparison on whether or not it would be ethical for her to fuck the monkey for the same reasons as Francour but I misread it and thought you were saying wether it would be ethical for Francour to fuck the monkey for the same reasons and that made me piss myself laughing though honestly him ending up with the monkey would probably make more logical sense.

Sorry for this long ask I just thought your points were interesting and I wanted to share mine though if long asks annoy you I promise not to send them again, also it's been a long time since I've seen either movies so correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't see it as based on Beauty and the Beast but YES, FRIENDS ALL THE WAY, Francoeur is meant to be a normal flea who just happened to grow and be able to sing (and only sing, not speak !), even more jarring when he becomes small again, she is happy not because her lover is alive but because her new animal friend she found cute and smart and wants to keep like a pet with extra steps is alive and safe ! I understand the frustration that she ends up with Raoul because it does feel very forced and no matter what the scenario says they have 0 chemistry together, they just happen to have been forever in love out of nowhere, but I do not ship Lucille with the monster either this time. She ends up with nobody to me, Francoeur is a pet/best friend and Raoul and her try but it lasts only a few weeks and they break up because they just can't stand each other despite their life-long infatuition

I do not lile the Bee Movie, but funnily, as weird as it is, I do not unsee a romance, because in that movie bees are actually not "normal", they all dress up and speak and have a civilisation, so it's just essentially dating a furry. Francoeur is a normal flea, it's not a furry even when he can sing and grows

He wasn't born a Shape shifter but he was young when he became one. He was born and raised in France but a little before high school his parents split up and he moved to the state's with his father. That's when he was forced into science experiments and eventually given the "power" of a shape shifter. Halfway through high school he moved back to France with his mother, he befriended Maud again and has been safe since.

He wasn't aware of Francoeur until after the event of the movie and since then he's playfully flirting with the Flea man, never advancing further because surprising or not. Bon actually sucks at romance, but he does stay loyal and only flirts with Francoeur [even tho the poor thing doesn't quite understand flirting]

Relationships:

Francoeur-love interest [Francoeur sees Bon as a playful man, he enjoys the time they spend together and would do anything for the little man. Although Franc doesn't quite understand the indications behind a lot of what Bon says to him but he does know he enjoys the warm feeling in his heart when Bon is around. On the other hand Bon knows he has a massive crush on Francoeur, he knows it's weird but he likes how cute but sweet Franc is, Bon doesn't intended on asking Franc to date partly because Franc doesn't seem to fully know what dating is and also because Bon is terrified of the commitment. He loves Franc but he's happy with only flirting with him, he doesn't need to be in a relationship with him to show he loves and cares for the flea man]

Maud-childhood friends [they annoy each other most of the time. Bon used to not have many friends and even became more suspicious of people after coming back to France but Maud helps him through any issues. They understand each other even tho they are different]

Emile-is actually good friends [at first he didn't trust him since he worried that Emile would hurt Mauds heart but once he got to know him, Bon knew Emile was the perfect guy for his best friend]

Lucille-he's a huge fan while she's suspicious of him [Lucille doesn't quite trust that Bon will be kind to Francoeur and treat the flea man right. Bon however doesn't mind that she doesn't trust him since he can understand, he's still a fan of her singing and always will be]

Raoul-chaotic duo [they are great friends! Good friends in fact Bon will support any and all of Raouls weird or stupid ideas. They have accident created havoc on MANY occasions so the gang calls them the chaotic duo]

Madame Carlotta-Bon is scared of her while she sees him as a big sweetheart [Bon isn't sure why he's scared of her but each time she pops out of nowhere he jumps and almost have a heart attack. She's actually quite fond of Bon, in fact she's Captain of the "get Franc and Bon together" fan club]
