Eydis is rather proud of their uncle’s home. It’s nestled perfectly in Yggdrasil’s branches as if it has always been there, even if that wasn’t entirely true. This place has existed as long as they have, if not longer. They have done everything in their power to keep it in tiptop shape, just in case Sindri decides to come home.

They have half a mind to give Sigyn a tour of the place, yet the inkling of hesitancy lingers in the back of their mind, not allowing them to do so. ❝ Okay! ❞ Swiftly, the dwarf moves over to the kitchen area, grabbing a clean mug from a shelf nearby before filling it with water from a pitcher. ❝ Nothin’ yet…. I suspect he’s needing time to grieve alone... ❞

Eydis knows they should do more to be a better host, but they often fumbled with social interactions unless it was very specific people. Thankfully, Sigyn was one of the few people they felt comfortable around. They suppose it has to do with prophecy, but they aren’t sure. Atreus was supposed to be Loki, not them. Yet, somehow ‘the Norns must’ve fucked up along the way and switched things up for fun.’ (As Brok had told them, years ago.) Fuck they missed him.

The tip of their green and bronze tail, a dark green club, lashes behind them nervously. ❝ I just hope someone sends word of… wherever he is… soon.❞

The dwarf isn’t really sure how to handle hosting a guest, not like the way their uncle, Sindri used to. Things are different now. (From Eydis to Sigyn, and Modified from gow sentence starters,)

Sigyn hasn't been able to stop admiring the view of this house. Not only because it was located and hidden away on the Yggdrasil Tree itself, but because it was clearly the work of the most beautiful dwarven craftsmen ship she had seen (which hadn't been much, considering she had been stuck in Asgard most of her life until now.)

She is brought back to the current moment, realizing her curiosity had been getting the better of her again. She had to remember her manners instead of wandering around someone else's home, especially with all going on with Eydis's uncle.

Clearing her throat, the young sorceress stands tall and polite. ❝ Oh, yes. Water would be nice. Thank you. ❞ Blue eyes glance around again, sympathy written in them. ❝ You haven't heard any word from your uncle? ❞

“Yep!” Eydis grinned proudly, feeling a little amused about the way Lae’zel had pronounced Pokemon, but it was more so the amusement that came from seeing the effort the Githyanki put into saying it. For its size, Eydis wouldn’t be surprised if it hatched into a Pokemon that might be larger than average. Upon hearing Lae’zel’s inquiry, Eydis’ expression faltered. “My people? Sometimes they appreciate it, other times I have been told. ‘Why waste time with these beasts when you could be forging, Eydis?’ It’s their loss, really.” They had long since gotten used to the strange looks and distasteful murmurs of other dwarves. Pulled out of that mindset by Lae’zel’s determination, Eydis nods their head in agreement.

“I guarantee if you treat the egg, and the hatchling with that teaching support, they’ll Though, I can’t be certain what it’ll hatch into…” The Druid pauses thoughtfully, before smiling brightly at Lae’zel once again. “I’m more than happy to help you with building a proper nest in camp for it!”

“Nah. You’re too grizzly and mean for that. I was jus’ makin’ a comparison cause it’s funny.” Eydis replied with a sly grin, their sharp teeth glinting in the sunlight. They had grown a habit of feign-bullying Kratos in Atreus’ absence. They’d never admit to it, but it was one of the only ways they could think of keeping in contact with their Uncle and Dad’s former chosen family.

Eydis’ expression softened with an amused look at the sight of Lae’zel’s curiosity about the strangely colored egg. The dwarf couldn’t help but admire the gentleness the Githyanki Fighter used to inspect the egg. “It’s a Pokémon egg. Supposedly it’ll hatch into a cool traveling companion.” They supplied with a gap toothed grin, chuckling at her assumption. While they were somewhat well versed in Faerûnian Artisan and Dwarven customs, giving an egg was entirely an Eydis custom. “Oh, no, this is less of a Faerûnian ritual and more just something I thought you’d appreciate.”

“I never said you were.” They’d reply, understanding that he didn’t fully believe it. Anyone would feel as though they were worthless, with a father like Odin. Either way, Eydis empathized with the concept of feeling broken. A hum escaped their lips as they looked over at Thor, then around at the landscape surrounding the two.

“I don’t think you are broken, though. In a lot of pain, sure, but not broken.” They add quietly, shaking their head quietly. Even if Thor was broken, or something was wrong with the god, they saw past that. At least, they had been seeing past it, in the recent weeks. Strangely, Thor reminded them of Uncle Brok. Abrasive and running on no-think mindset, so strangely they felt like he was the least- terrifying of the Aesir Gods. Despite everything that he’d done, he was the easiest to get along with.

“I am NOT broken,” he said, but it was clear that he didn’t fully believe it himself. After all, something had to be wrong with him if his own father thought he was worthless.

LIAN NICHANG. specifically using her mythology verse. Nichang is a powerful swordswoman who was bestowed immortality through becoming a figure of folklore, and she is not happy about this fact. She's unpleasant and difficult to get along with, but something tells me that wouldn't stop Eydis from popping up in her mountain home.

SIF. a bit of a cheat answer since they are from the same franchise, but it could still be interesting !! Sif is honestly such a mom, I can see her being surprisingly taken with Eydis and keeping an eye out for her in that motherly way.
