Kutumb Jatan Karnang - English Translation Slok ( Kutumb Jatan Karnung Maya... ) O Nanak! This human being knows only how (to strive) to amass wealth and then sustain the family with lot of efforts but is totally (devoid) bereft of the worship of the Lord, who has bestowed everything on him. Such a person, who has forsaken the Lord, is like a (devil) ghost. (1) O Nanak! English Translation Bilawal ( Janam Maran Ka Bhram Gaya ) By meditating on the Lord, we have got rid of the fear and doubts of the cycle of the births and deaths. We have been united with the Lord even in this life itself as the Guru's teachings have enlightened our mind. (Pause - 1) The sound of the gong is produced from it and then gets mingled with it, or the sound produced by a utensil of brass when it breaks then mingles with it. O Pandit! When the brass utensil breaks where does the sound go except merging with the original, just as the sinful actions produce certain reactions which merge with them only. Gun Gavoh Puran Abinasi, Kaam Krodh Bikh Jaare; English Translation Sorath Mahala- 5th ( Gun Gavoh Puran Abinasi ) I have cast away (burnt) all the poisonous vices like sexual desires and anger by singing the praises of the perfect and ever-existent Lord. We have been enabled to cross this arduous ocean of life successfully in the company of the holy saints. (1) The perfect Guru has cast away all our doubts and dual-mindedness, including the darkness of ignorance. Now we have perceived the Lord (within us) very close by, reciting the Lord's True Name with love and devotion. (Pause) We have satiated in body and mind by partaking in the wealth of True Name. Now we are perceiving the Lord pervading everywhere so there is no need to wander around here and there (in His search). (2) The person, who is imbued with the love of the Lord (in his heart engages himself in worship, penance, and disciplined life of meditation due to the light of the knowledge gained. The Guru-minded person who has attained the jewel of the nectar of True Name, has been rewarded with success for all efforts. (3) Such a person gets rid of all his ills, sufferings, and sins including the bondage of Yama (god of death), with the help of True Name. O, Nanak! (1) The beloved devotees of the Lord are always perceiving the Lord within (close by) by serving the Guru and are satiated only by singing the praises of the Lord. (Pause) The holy saints are imbued with the love of the True Master just as the drug addict is attached to the drugs, or the land lover is interested in his land and the child is keenly in love with milk. (2) The Lord's devotee is immersed in singing the praises of the Lord just as a student is engrossed in his studies and the eyes are satisfied by seeing beauty only or the tongue is in the love of sweet or delicious things. (3) O Nanak! The Lord enables us to satiate our hunger for various things just as the hungry person is keenly interested in food. Similarly, those persons, who are keen to have a glimpse of the Lord, are enabled to unite with the omniscient Lord. Raag Asa: Aanile Kumbh Bharaile Udak, Thakur Kao Isnaan Karau; Bani Bhagat Sri Namdev Ji, Page 485 of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. आनीले कुम्भ भराईले उदक, ठाकुर कौ इशनान करौ; वाणी भगत श्री नामदेव जी महाराज, अंग 485 साहिब श्री गुरु ग्रंथ साहिब में राग आसा से उद्धृत। प्रस्तुत शबद भगत नामदेव जी द्वारा ब्राह्मणों के पाखंड को इंगित करते हुए ठाकुर भगवान की सर्वव्यापकता का दर्शन करवाता है। Punjabi Translation by Prof Sahib Singh ਇਹ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਤੋਂ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸਾਡੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਸੱਚੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦਾ ਮਤਲਬ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ। ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਇਹ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਸੱਚੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਸਿਰਫ ਬਾਹਰੀ ਰਸਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸਗੋਂ ਅੰਦਰੂਨੀ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ। ਆਓ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖੀਏ: ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਜੇ ਉਹ (ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ) ਘੜਾ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਣੀ ਭਰ ਕੇ ਮੂਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਪਰਵਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਿਤਾਲੀ (ਬਿਆਲੀਸ) ਲੱਖ ਜੀਵ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਦਾ ਮਤਲਬ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਾਣੀ ਭੀ ਅਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਜੋ ਸੱਚਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਹਰ ਜੀਵ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਮੂਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ? ਇਸ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦਾ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਜਿੱਧਰ ਵੀ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉੱਥੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਅਨੰਦ ਦੇ ਚੋਜ ਤਮਾਸ਼ੇ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਜੇ ਉਹ ਫੁੱਲ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਮਾਲਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੀਰੋ ਕੇ ਮੂਰਤੀ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਪੂਜਾ ਪਰਵਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਫੁੱਲ ਭੌਰੇ ਦੇ ਸੂੰਘਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਜੂਠੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤਾਂ ਭੌਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ, ਫੁੱਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੂਰਤੀ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ? ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਜੇ ਉਹ ਦੁੱਧ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਖੀਰ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੂਰਤੀ ਅੱਗੇ ਨੈਵੇਦ ਭੇਟ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਭੋਜਨ ਪਰਵਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਵੱਛੇ ਨੇ ਦੁੱਧ ਨੂੰ ਜੂਠਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤਾਂ ਵੱਛੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ, ਮੂਰਤੀ ਅੱਗੇ ਨੈਵੇਦ ਭੇਟ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ? ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਆਖਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ��ਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਸਾਰਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਬੀਠਲ (ਵਿੱਠਲ) ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਅਸਤੀਤਵ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਬੀਠਲ ਅੱਗੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ, ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਿਖਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਸੱਚੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦਾ ਮਤਲਬ ਸਿਰਫ ਬਾਹਰੀ ਰਸਮਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸਗੋਂ ਅੰਦਰੂਨੀ ਪਿਆਰ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਭਗਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ। Download Hukamnama PDF Download PDF Read the full article

This Sarovar (Tank) of Guru Ramdas, Amritsar is really beautiful. The person, who bathes in this tank, has his whole family blessed with salvation, and with a dip in the holy tank, a whole lot of beings are blessed with success in this worldly battle of life.
