Hugo Erfurth, The painter Otto Dix instructing a class in figure painting, 1929, gelatin silver print, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
In Dresden, Dix and Erfurth established a close relationship based on artistic interchange, and Dix executed various portraits of Erfurth, his wife and even his dog. In turn, Erfurth immortalized Dix on numerous occasions. Erfurth was a renowned society photographer and a court photographer to the king of Saxony.
