You and Simon got married, and Price was the Best Man. Kyle stood on your side, and Soap was the flower girl. He blew bubbles instead of throwing flower petals because you and Soap thought it would be funnier. There's a picture floating around somewhere of Simon staring rather concerningly at a particularly large bubble Soap blew, too.

You two swearing you're gonna fuck all night long on your wedding night... only to crash as soon as you hit the bed. You didn't even take your clothes off. The sexathon came later. You two just woke up, looked at each other, happy as a pair of clams, and bloody hell, you made an honest man out of Simon fuckin' Riley.

Getting each other gag gifts as a wedding present. You were serious about getting him that cockring weren't you, love? Well, he has all the time in the world to make use of it.❤️

Noticing how relaxed and settled Simon is after you two start your married lives. Well, as relaxed and settled as Simon could be, all things considered, but he's not as anxious. He's... content. Happy.

He just lets it be. It's amusing, though, seeing the confusion and shock on the other soldiers' faces when they find out. "Wait, Lieutenant Riley's married? He has a missus?" Correction: "I'm the missus."

He also jokes with the rest of 141 on some, "Sorry, lads, 'm an honest bloke now," which makes the others snort. Will also use a variant for you, too. "No can do, lovie, you made an honest missus outta me." Pfft.

You've also taken to calling him the Hubster ("Pretty cute, eh, Si-bear?" ".........") and you're banned from saying it in public lmao.

Similarly, you use the shock value to troll your associates. Your coworkers were not expecting Simon of all people to be the one you married. You call HIM the Missus? ("Sure do.") The way they see it, you two are polar opposites. Well, they do say that opposites attract.

Simon buying a chain for his wedding band for when he deploys because even with the gloves on, he refuses to wear his ring near his gun. It's a symbol of you, one of the best fuckin' things to ever happen to him, and he'll be damned if he ever lets the two touch.

You jokingly suggest that because Simon has really taken to the missus thing and ran with it, he should get it tattooed on him. This being Simon bloody Riley, he goes and does exactly that. The shock on your face was worth it all. Cheers, darling.

Amidst everything of the November 5th madness, it is also the day to share my collaboration with GhoulsnHalos for the 2024 @spnbangbang! I am always one for getting a little more Megstiel out there in the world and so I couldn't resist putting in such a prompt for this year's reverse bang.

The art piece I put in for claims is below:

It is worth mentioning that this was the direct result of my last minute idea for a Cas photo op at SPN NJ back in May of this year. I couldn't decide what I wanted to do for it, I was working the convention vendors area all day, and I was getting HUNGRY. Mr. Hawkland was also there to help for the day and suddenly it struck me: time to Door Dash some pizza! We ate, had a prop, and the hardest thing was not cracking up entirely at the face journey Misha went through (while channeling Cas) for this picture:

When I got it I immediately got the idea to make it Megstiel (sorry for leaving out the hubster, I suppose it could have been a Meanstiel prompt if I wanted, too.)

omg, so, i feel really sad about this, but I'm not throwing my annual party :( so there's not really any dressing up.

BUT, I've treated myself to some spooky tee's (and I'm looking for a nice pj set) and me and the hubster are making Halloween foodings, and watching a curated list of Halloween specific tv episodes! i also have some nice earrings I'll be wearing (they're oldies but goldies)!

but if i wasssss going to dress up, my idea was to be daphne from scooby doo (because my hair is orange rn) and my corgi (who despises dressing up) was going to have a faux collar to be scooby hahaha.

They don't need to say anything, it's just silence between them but they don't need to talk. Chip in so much pain whether just in general chronic pain or from burns or from injuries and he can barely get out of bed and Jay sits with him and rubs his shoulders and his back and brings him water and food.

1: are you named after anyone? yes, my ma let my dad name me. later on, he told me he named me after a "cousin" i had. he was a rolling stone so pretty sus if you ask me.

2: when was the last time you cried? yesterday. i'm very much in tune with my emotions + feelings...so...yeah.

3: do you have kids? yes, 2 boys.

4: do you use sarcasm a lot? not often, but when i do it's only to the hubster + kiddos.

5: what sports do you play/ have played? Not really consider a sport but i did varsity pompom squad. I also danced jazz, ballet, and tap for (13) yrs. So i guess it's always been about the dance for me.

6: what's the first thing you notice about other people? I look at their eyes quickly followed by teeth.

8: scary movies or happy endings? use to be scary in my younger years which scarred me for life (looking at you IT). so HAPPY ENDINGS for sure.

9: any special talents? Gifted hands. I am very skilled in cooking and have crafty hands. I ran a successful Etsy a while back making party supplies and I still do face-ups on dolls. I come from a line of Louisiana cooks and seamstresses so there you have it.

11: what are your hobbies? crafting, designing, decorating, gaming, gardening, + reading.

12: do you have any pets? I have a (5)yr old Frenchton.

13: how tall are you? 5'5" but I lie on my license and say 5'6.

15: dream job? I have it. I went to college for multi-media design. Being a stay-at-home mom is my current job. It has lousy pay but the benefits are unmatched.

SciFi Valley Con, what a weekend!

I need to share this somewhere because it was all so amazing, I'm still a bit dazed .

First, behold this set up, because holy shit was it a lot of work!

So, on to the details. Back in Charlotte, I'd promised both DJ and Ruth tote bags with my Garth & Rowena art, respectively (they'd seen other people carrying them around but I'd sold out before they stopped by looking for one.) Didn't know if they'd actually remember BUT Friday at SFVC was fairly slow so I went to get my autographs and hunt them down. First I went up to DJ who, as soon as he saw the tote bag, came rushing out from behind his table to give me a big hug. "I don't care if it's egotistical I'm carrying this around all weekend!" All Friday he had it out on his table, too, so that it ended up in one of the con's promo videos on Instagram.

Next up was Rick...who was just a doll, taking his time with each and every person! I was just going to get an autograph for myself but as soon as I showed him the painting he was just literally speechless for a while, came around to give me a hug, asked his handler to take that picture he posted on Instagram, I gave him a print and we chatted a bit but I felt bad taking up too much time. (I did go back on Sunday to get an autograph for Mr. Hawkland's office and totally cracked him up with my/our usual request for something mentioning feet, since the hubster is a podiatrist.)

Then I saw Ruth briefly had no line so I dashed over and handed her her bag and she was immediately all "Oh! Oh! Emily, come over here!" (Emily Swallow was signing the next station over.) "This is the artist who has that lovely painting of the two of us I was showing you!"

I'm now like....wait a minute...they're showing each other MY ART?!?!?! I knew Ruth liked the piece — it was the one I did for the femmeslash bang claimed by @father-salmon — Emily immediately slips out from her table where she had a long line and was like, "Hi I'm Emily" to shake my hand and I'm like OMFG I KNOW YOU ARE and they were just both being so sweet I could've cried. Ruth was asking if it would be ok if they made copies of that piece available for signing (like, absolutely?!?! I'M the one skirting the edge selling these prints...) Anyway, Ruth let me pick out a picture to get signed for free, I ran back to my table to get the new Amara piece I'd done signed by Emily and to print her prints of each. And she wouldn't even let me pay for getting it autographed either, just was being so kind, I mentioned how Season 11 is my favorite and how much I've come to enjoy Amara every time I rewatch and then she wouldn't let me leave without a hug. *sob* Saturday morning she even stopped by the table to look at more of my stuff up close and tell me how Ruth was carrying her bag around everywhere.

Oh and Sunday morning before we opened for the day, I'd just set up and stepped out to get something to drink, come back in and Mark Sheppard is at my table by my Crowley prints and postcards talking with his handler. He was like "Yeah I've signed a lot of these" and was surprised the big banner print hadn't sold yet (so was I). He actually remembered signing the original paintings back in Pittsburg 2-3 years ago, I do not know how he remembers these things.

Anyway. Sales were kind of meh since the crowd was only very partially an SPN crowd BUT I cannot remember having such wonderful interactions with guests/actors ever like this. It's a little freaky because it hit that the Creation con regulars (DJ, Ruth, Mark) definitely know & remember me. And I guess that's a good thing? I suppose we'll see how it all unfolds next year as this was my last con for 2024 (next year I'm planning on doing SPN Boston, New Jersey, Novi, Philly and maybe Chicago too.)

Summer Vacation is Here!

Quick Update on my life: I was a teacher in the southwest of the US for six years. Hubster and I moved back to the east coast a year ago and neither one of us found full time teaching jobs (He's been a teacher 19 years). I worked as a front office secretary in a high school waiting for a teaching opportunity to present itself. I hated this job. I hated it so much. Today was my last day and I was just hired as a long term sub for next school year (for the entire year!) at another district. I'm going back into the classroom and I couldn't be happier! This also means I have two months ahead of me to write and rest and relax! I'm also thinking of opening up my inbox for requests but haven't decided exactly how to organize that yet so stay tuned!

I do want to say a sincere thank you to my mutuals and those I interact with here on tumblr. You all made a very difficult year bearable. Thank you for support, encouragement, and content!
