I’m Here
Your best friend, Justin, and you get into an argument
for anon who requested angst and fluff! hope this works <3
non idol au?
You stared at the door, your vision blurry because of the tears in your eyes. You took a deep breath to calm yourself as you quickly wiped the tears from your eyes. It wasn’t often that you fought with Justin, but this time, it had been really bad.
“Why don’t you just leave him?” Justin had yelled furiously, glaring over at you, “can’t you see? He treats you terribly!”
“It’s not that simple,” you shouted back, throwing your hands into the air.
“Why isn’t it simple, then?” Justin got to his feet, “you’re not happy with him-- it should be simple.”
“I don’t understand why you’re so fucking invested in my love life, Justin Huang,” you shot back at him, “you’re always poking your nose in who I’m dating and what I’m doing, but it’s none of your business!” As soon as you said that, it was as though the fight left Justin’s body. He stared at you for a moment more, face blank.
“You’re right, it’s none of my business,” Justin bit out sharply, “I’ll just leave, then .” He tossed his jacket on and stormed out of the door, slamming it behind him.
You shook your head as you remembered what had happened, feeling embarrassment and shame for your actions. Even though you were angry, you shouldn’t have yelled at your best friend like that.
The entire fight was dumb, frankly. You had been thinking of breaking up with your boyfriend for a while, because he didn’t treat you very well, but then when you went on a date with him, you noticed that he still had multiple dating apps downloaded on his phone. You’d told Justin, who got upset, and you’d tried to defend him. You were already planning to break up with him anyways, but you knew that this relationship wasn’t worth losing years of friendship over.
A few days passed after the fight. Justin didn’t attempt to reach out to you, but one of his friends, Zhengting, texted you to let you know he was staying at his friend’s apartment. It hurt that he was ignoring you, but you understood why.
You’d also finally summoned the courage to break up with your boyfriend. You knew it was the right action to take, and while it hadn’t been pleasant, you were glad to do so. He hadn’t even seemed very upset, just shrugging when you’d told him you wanted to break up.
Finally, after a week, you decided to break the silence. You gathered your things and grabbed your keys, getting ready to go to Zhengting’s house. Just as you were putting your shoes on, the doorbell rang.
“I’m sorry.”
Your eyes widened at the sight of Justin on your doorstep, clutching a bag with your favorite chips and candy.
“Wha-- Justin?”
“I’m sorry for saying those things, and for ignoring you and for being stupid.” Justin sighed, looking up at you, cheeks slightly pink, “I shouldn’t have been so harsh or said those things, I just…” he glanced down at his feet again, and you almost chuckled at how pink his ears were. “Look, (y/n), can I be honest?”
You just nodded, not sure where all this was going.
“I… I really like you, a lot,” he said quickly, meeting your eyes, “and it hurt to see someone else not treating you right. And I know that you have a boyfriend and everything, so if you don’t want to see me as much, or if this makes things awkward, I understand, but I just wanted you to know. So. Yeah.”
You stared at your best friend with wide eyes, trying to sort through all this new information. You would be lying to yourself if you said you hadn’t thought of Justin in that light, but those feelings were always something you’d tried to ignore or pass off as platonic feelings.
“Justin, I, um,” you shifted your weight, “I just broke up with my boyfriend, but I don’t think I’m ready to just rush into a new relationship with open arms, especially because I don’t want to ruin our friendship if it doesn’t work out.”
“I understand that, really,” Justin nodded quickly, “I’m not asking you to date me, I just wanted to tell you my feelings so that you understood why I was so upset.”
You nodded as well. “Maybe at some point, in a little while, I’m willing to give us a try, but you’re just going to have to give me time.” With that, you heaved a huge sigh, glad to have talked everything out. You opened your arms, smiling over at Justin. “Hug?” He just nodded, quickly wrapping you up in his arms, resting his head on your shoulder as he squeezed you tightly. You knew that everything was changing, but somehow, you didn’t seem to mind it.
ok so im tagging this w idol producer bc both justin and zhengting are on idol producer but.... is it bad that i really want to start writing for idol producer? it’s jus sO good and the trainees all got me feeling some TYPA WAY

❝ dreams come true: justin one-shot ❞
❛ dreaming all night ❜
Tumblr media
cpop: nex7 / nine percent - short story - justin
Tumblr media
You were a trainee at Yuehua Entertainment for almost half of your life, as you joined the company when you were around eight years old, yet you had never debuted due to company issues. You were originally assigned to debut a year ago, but the trends soon changed your company’s decision and they instead planned on debuting a boy group, as Cosmic Girls had already debuted two years before.
Crestfallen, you were greatly depressed, but you felt like it was your destiny to debut someday, be able to dance and sing on a stage like all those idols who were admired by so many. The determination inside of you pushed you to train even harder than before.
As you walked out of the practice room, a towel slung across your neck, you suddenly bumped into someone and looked up, about to apologise when you frowned at the familiar face instead.
“Oh, sorry... Y/N?” The person’s eyebrows raised in surprise.
The person was Justin, the famous Justin Huang of NEX7 and Nine Percent, to be accurate. The former trainee who you had a crush on for, let’s just say the moment you two met. Since both of you were around the same age, everything soon hit off and the two of you became good friends. After he was sent to South Korea to attend Produce 101, you had supported him from Beijing and when he came back unsuccessfully, you were there to comfort him, always by his side. Due to all the closeness, the innocent feelings you had for him at first became complicated as you were worried that he noticed and didn’t feel the same.
The two of you became more distant after he was once again sent away, though this time to 偶像练习生 ( Idol Producer / Óu Xiàng Liàn Xí Shēng ) and he accomplished his dream, debuting as Nine Percent and not only that, but also in the Yuehua group NEX7. Of course you congratulated him, except you were still sad, because not only did you unsuccessfully debut, but he would be leaving with his group members and there would barely be any chance for you two to talk again.
Except he was right there, standing in front of you and for a second, you were flustered, not expecting him to see you in your simple leggings and black t-shirt.
“I thought you were busy?” You accidentally blurted out, and instantly reddened, embarrassed.
“We’re taking a break from the tours,” he replied, scratching his neck awkwardly, “Hard dance routine?”
“And exhausting,” you admitted. You had been working on fast-paced dances these days, wanting to strengthen your dancing skills, since you had stronger vocals rather than dance.
“Sounds tough,” the cheeky smile on his face always made your heart beat faster. Tearing your gaze off of his beautiful face, you stared down at your converses feeling silly. The air between the two of you felt more than awkward, and he soon broke the silence once again.
“So, the company gave us a week off. Want to meet up at the normal place at four so we can catch up on, you know, life?” His eager eyes made it impossible to decline and the twinkling spark inside of them made your stomach clench with emotions.
“Sure,” you smiled. After all, it was just two good friends meeting up like normal, wasn’t it?
The normal place was a small café near the company that was quite lonely, but it was a place of memories for many trainees. You still remembered all those times you had gone there with Justin and the members of NEX7 when all of you were still trainees. Now you were the only one left who wasn’t out on the stage.
As you entered the café, greeted the owner warmly like the times you did all those years, you noticed that Justin hadn’t arrived yet. Typical Justin, you thought, smiling inwardly.
“欢迎来到传奇咖啡店! 请问您要点什么?( Welcome to Miracle Coffee Shop! What would you like to order? / Huán yíng lái dào quán qí kã fēi diàn! qíng wèn nìn yào dián shé mé? )” The lady asked, taking out a pen and a notebook.
“两杯抹茶,谢谢。 ( Two cups of mocha, thank you. / Liáng bēi muó chá, xié xié. )” You replied with a smile and patiently sat there, a bit fidgety as you waited. What if Justin had forgotten? Maybe he was too busy. You shouldn’t have been expecting much from such a busy group. After all, it was exhausting going on tours every single day, as they were awfully famous now.
The two cups of mocha were soon on the table, slowly cooling. You warmed your hands with your own cup. Whenever the two of you came, it would always be mocha.
Suddenly, the front door bell chimed once and a huffing Justin appeared, his cheeks slightly red. “Sorry,” he apologised as he walked in, plopping himself right next to you instead of across from you.
Surprised, you quickly recovered and replied with a brief ‘no worries’, as it wasn’t abnormal for him to be late. At least he was only twenty minutes late, unlike once when he was more than an hour late.
“Great! Mocha like always,” he grinned and took a sip from his drink. “Now, tell me about your life without me so far. Been too peaceful, hasn’t it?”
Not at all. Other than the feelings you had for him, a new anxiety was starting to build up inside of you. “Way too calming,” you laughed back.
“So, how’s everything with Fairytale?” He asked. Fairytale was the original group you were going to debut in as a vocalist, but instead it was cancelled. Justin knew nothing about it, because you didn’t want to burden him when he was off competing again ninety-nine trainees.
“It was dismissed,” you stared at your drink, swirling it with your spoon, feeling the sadness washing up once again.
“I’m so sorry, I- when did this happen?” Justin looked at you, shocked. His innocent wide eyes flew open even larger.
“When you were with the boys at 偶像练习生 ( Idol Producer / Óu Xiàng Liàn Xí Shēng )...” your voice trailed on. “I didn’t want you to compete while feeling bad for you. I wanted you to win, and you did.” You smiled faintly at him.
“Y/N... But without your support, I wouldn’t have had the motivation to continue competing,” a frown hung on his face.
“Don’t worry anymore. It’s in the past. Now tell me about your life? What’s being an idol feel like?” You asked curiously, peering at him expectantly.
“Tiring, honestly,” he admitted, “but truly pleasing and exciting. The fans are so fun to be with, and performing for them is such an honour. Why are you looking at me funnily?”
“Wow, that was.. Wow, that was so unexpected,” you let out a loud laugh, “Who knew the adorable Justin could say something like that?”
“Hey! I’m someone who has very deep philosophy!” Justin complained back. The next two hours passed by quickly as the two of you shared words, laughed at each others’ jokes, and enjoyed the presence of a good friend.
After he paid for the drinks despite your complaints, arguing that he was a 富贵子 ( in Chinese history, it means the son of a rich, high-classed family / fù guì zì ). As the two of you walked out, he suddenly reached out and took your hand in his, lacing your fingers with his. The gesture surprised you, but the warmth was so comforting, you didn’t complain.
“Remember the time when we first came here?” Justin asked.
“Of course.. Was it eight years ago? I remember it was around a month or two after I joined the company.” You answered back, smiling at the memory. “You forced me to come along with the boys. It was so awkward with them back then... Well, until the seven of you decided to put salt into my drink!” You said in a playful accusing tone.
“Come on! At least it dissolved the tension!” He laughed back. “Don’t worry, it wasn’t my idea. Definitely not.”
“Yeah, like 丁泽仁 ( Ding Zeren / Dīng Zė Rèn ) would be so immature to think of that. It was obviously you.” You rolled your eyes.
“I miss the good old days a lot,” Justin murmured mournfully. “We used to get to spend out everyday. I miss that.”
“Hey, but now you get to stand on a stage. Just think about it, the bright stage with your wonderful fans cheering in the audience!” You exclaimed. “And I’ll always be there to support you.”
“You know, I didn’t only become friends with you at first because we were around the same age and were both from 温州 ( Wenzhou, Wēn Zhōu )... I...” He looked at you, slightly flustered, but finally continued, “I liked you. A lot. But now my feelings really have changed.”
“W-What do you mean?” You stammered nervously. Oh God, what if he didn’t feel the same? Another one of your life dreams would be crushed.
“I realised lately that without you, I feel so empty... I-I love you, Y/N.” Justin let go of your hand and stopped abruptly. You looked at him, clearly surprised as he took hold of your chin instead.
Damn it... He really has been getting taller... You weren’t that short, but still had to raise your eyes up to look at him. Your heart started beating faster. He loved you. It was real... or was it fake?
Just as you were questioning yourself, his warm breath inched closer by seconds and suddenly his warm lips was pressed again yours. Instead of sparks, a sweet feeling, a bit like hot chocolate on a winter day creeped into you. It wasn’t a long kiss, a very brief one actually. But it was enough to wipe out all your doubts.
“You-” You pinched your arm to see whether you were awake or asleep, if this was a dream or reality. Real, definitely real. “You love me?”
“I do,” his cheeks were flushed as he gazed at you intently, “and not in a platonic way. I-I, it’s fine if you don’t feel the same way, but I don’t want our friendship to be destroyed after this...”
“Nice vocabulary,” you slowly smiled, “I missed you so much and never stopped loving you. But what will you do? Your fans... you’re busy all the time... I mean, it’s fine with me. I’ll always be there to support you and give you all my-”
Another kiss silenced your rambling. “This is all I need.” He murmured, grinning. “Nothing else matters than you. There’s nothing to worry about, I promise.”
           “You’re so cheesy,” you laughed.
“Ha, and I’ve been practicing pick-up lines with the help of 林颜俊 ( Ling Yanjun / Líng Yàn Jùn ). He’s practically the King of Pick-up Lines... but not for long. Just wait and see,” Justin winked at you and the smile on your face would take days to wash off. Or probably never.
“Looking forward to it,” you laughed once again and his warmth once again enwrapped you as the two of you walked back to the company.
You knew you would be working harder to debut, and with a dream come true, your motivations were even stronger. Truly, a dream come true.
writing this one-shot really reminded me of the two years i spent living at china... and yes, nine percent and nex7 are extremely popular at china this year. literally the top trends. i apologise if this one-shot wasn’t that nice, but this is my first time writing a one-shot! if there’s any advice, please tell me! requests are also open!
here’s just some background information about me, because i guess the readers should know a bit of the author:
-i’m 13 years old ( turning 14 this month, actually )
-i’m a freshman in high school
-my birthday is on october 31. yes, halloween.
-i’m pure chinese ( mainland ), born in new york, currently living in california, but i did live in china for two year during 5th-6th grade. i did spend those two years trying to stuff myself with everything about chinese and china, having to study six grades of chinese in two. so no, i’m honestly not terrible at chinese and i am very familiar with chinese trends. but i actually have problems with english, haha!
-i’ve started actually writing ever since two years ago and other than writing, i do graphic designing, music composing and creating, singing, choreography creating ( only occasionally, not a daily thing unlike others ), and if you want to see more of my works, here is my main.
thank you all so much for reading and requests are open! feel free to give advice or comment whenever you want :)!

Around (Assassin! JungJung)
A/N: I'll be using JungJung instead of Zhengting cuz more fans know his stage name rather than his real name.
Warnings: Violence
++++
It was just a cool night in Seoul. The usual Friday party going on in clubs all over town. JungJung walked around looking for a certain person. In times like this his job is harder than ever before. He had a call earlier saying they wanted the man dead by tonight. He sighed before hanging up. His plans for tonight was to rest and watch some lame TV but either way it was still a boring night. The yellow hoodie he was wearing and the black backpack made him seem like a normal person, not to mention he looked like a college student.
"His name is Hong Eunki. He's in a near by strip club. I bet you could spot it by now." Hyeongseop said. The jellybean earpiece was difficult to spot and quite uncomfortable too.
"Got it. A strip club once again." He muttered under his breath.
The club was packed and had way too many drunk people. JungJung scrunched his nose whenever someone got too close to him.
"I swear I hate clubs if someone touches me my gun is just a few meters away from my crotch." JungJung said as he was desperately trying to get out of the horny crowd.
"Try not kill someone your not supposed to." Hyeongseop said. "Anyway, he's up stairs. He's also alone, Jung.".
"Found him." JungJung safely got to the 2nd floor of the club and saw the person he was after drinking alone.
For a boy he was always called handsome, someone other boys would crush on. Mission that involved charming other people was easy. JungJung easily slid beside Eunki before starting a conversation with the man.
"Aren't you a little too drunk." JungJung stated.
Eunki stared at him before replying back, "Maybe. Life's tough these days and sometimes you gotta loosen up.".
"Well, what brings you here?" JungJung studied the boy's movements. He seemed like a well behaved person from a not so rich family but he's got some problems under his nose too.
"I'm just tired I guess. But would you like to go somewhere more private?" The boy asked as he placed his drink on a near by coffee table.
"Gladly." JungJung followed the boy down stairs to one of the private rooms. "And this is when you say goodbye." He spoke to the person behind his earpiece.
"Why? I'd love to watch how you do your dirty work." Hyeongseop said with a smirk on his face.
"Just do it. Don't even try to find a reflection to bounce off on." He said before shutting the door to the room. JungJung set his bag on the chair as Eunki sat on the bed that was situated in the middle of the room.
"So, let's talk about you. What are you doing here?" He asked, looking at JungJung up and down.
"I don't really know. My friends called me but they were no where to be found. Then I saw you all alone and thought you needed some company." He stood closer to where Eunki was.
The boy slowly stood up from his comfortable position. He looked at JungJung dead in the eye as he placed on a hand on his cheek. JungJung had closed the gap between them. Eunki kissed back ever so deliciously.
This is one of the moments when JungJung decides whether he should have some fun at least or just finish it off fast. Since he had an impatient client he would rather finish fast even if he would like to have some fun. When he pushed Eunki against the edge of the bed he pulled out his gun without breaking the kiss.
"I'm sorry.".
"What?" He pulled the trigger, shooting him behind his head.
"Good thing I always bring a towel and some extra clothes." JungJung wiped off the blood that splattered on his face. "What's the deal with this one anyway?".
"Well, that's not for us to know. Anyway, clean up and head back before midnight." Hyeongseop leisurely sipped on his coffee as he watched his computer screen display the room JungJung was in. "You've been working out pretty well.".
"Why won't I? It's part of the job." He fished his extra clothes from his bag before heading out.
JungJung's job wasn't legal but it did pay high. He could've been an idol with his good looks and flexibility but instead he chose to work in the dark. Fame was never something he wanted.
He arrived at the base an hour before the deadline. The team welcomed him back with a hug. JungJung set his bag on the couch and watched as the team waited for one more arrival.
"Nice job. I envy you for doing fieldwork." Seunghyuk said as he sat beside him.
"It's not fun when they fight back though." He recalled that time when someone stabbed his leg and it was all bloody. It was the worst job he's ever taken.
"Euiwoong-ah, we need to buy a new silencer." JungJung placed his gun on the table where Euiwoong was and was surprised when the team suddenly cheered.
The team cheered when they heard the doors to the base close. He was here. Their youngest member is back from his job.
"Is it bad that I liked it?" Justin asked as he placed all his bags on the floor.
"Welcome back, Minghao." JungJung hugged the younger boy. It was his first fieldwork and it's nice too see him still in one piece.
"Okay, that Minki guy is a rich boy who gets startled so easily. I had to increase my patience for this which was not that bad, I didn't know I could hold out for that long." He said as he shrugged. "Anyway, I bought some things from Japan. I hope you'll like them.".
Justin was quite young for all this but it didn't stop him from trying some fieldwork. JungJung had encouraged him to do so since Justin was quite experienced. The boys headed to their own rooms. Euiwoong and Hyengseop together, Seunghyuk alone, and JungJung and Justin in one room.
"So, how was Tokyo?" JungJung asked as he shed off his shirt to changed into some comfortable clothes.
"Nice city. Nice food. Nice everything." Justin lied down on his bed and scrolled through his phone.
"Better than China?" He asked.
"Definitely." Justin shifted to face JungJung's bed which was at the other side of the room.
"So, how was the mission?" He settled himself on the bed with one of his elbows propping up his head.
"I don't know. It was fun I guess. I got stabbed on my side but I'm fine. Anyway, playing around with Minki was fun. He was scared easily so killing him was quite a hassle since every second or so he'd call some bodyguards." Justin said. He let go of his phone and lied back down.
"Aren't you still hurt?" He asked. JungJung was concerned for the younger boy.
"Not much." Justin pulled up his shirt to show him the gauze on his side. "What about you? How was your mission?".
"I hate strip clubs as you already know. I also had to kiss the boy and he tasted like chocolate vodka.".
JungJung sighed and lied back down. For some reason he enjoyed that mission. And just like that, he fell asleep, wondering what his next task would be.
A/N: And this is when I apologize for killing Eunki :((

Huang Justin Mafia AU
Tumblr media
you were the younger sibling of zhu zheng ting, though you were not involved in 101 business yourself
in your last year of high school, you lived in zheng ting’s apartment, since the rest of your family, except for the uncle that the two of you had initially been staying with, were back in china
zheng ting did his best to keep you out of 101 business, but sometimes, you had brief brushes with them
one time, on the weekend, you were getting ready to go out with your friends when you noticed that zheng ting’s inhaler for his asthma was lying in the dish where your keys were as well
he almost never forgot his inhaler, but he needed it, due to how bad his asthma attacks got sometimes
you knew where he worked, so you headed over to the 101 building quickly before going to the movies
upon entering the building, someone asked you who you were, and you explained that you were delivering zheng ting’s inhaler, making sure to use his street name
the person explained where the room where he worked was, and you hurried to it, knocking on the door before entering
there was only one person inside, who was maybe about your age
“can i help you?” he asked, his voice slightly accented
“y-yeah, i just wanted to drop off my brother’s inhaler,” you explained, holding said inhaler out
the guy took it, giving you a smile, “you’re zheng ting’s sister, right?”
you looked up at the guy in surprise, “how do you know me?”
he introduced himself as minghao, explaining that he was chinese as well and that him and zheng ting had spoken briefly about you
“well, if you could just pass it along to him, that’d be great,” you said, smiling in return
“yeah, no problem,” minghao replied, giving you a wink
boi excuse u
that night, you were eating dinner with zheng ting when he brought it up
“so you talked to justin today?”
you looked up from your noodles “who’s justin?”
“the guy who you gave the inhaler to,” zheng ting said, as though you were stupid
“um, no, i gave it to minghao,” you retorted, crossing your arms
zheng ting looked mildly surprised, “he introduced himself as minghao?”
“yes,” you replied, looking at zheng ting suspiciously
“it’s nothing, he just normally doesn’t use his chinese name,” zheng ting shook it off, “but (y/n), if i were you, i’d steer clear of justin. he flirts a lot, but he dumps girls like a person changes clothes.”
you nodded, thinking back to the wink that justin--minghao?-- had given you
“i’ll keep that in mind.”
occasionally, you have to go to the 101 building, either because you need to give something to zheng ting or he needs to give something to you
and every single time, justin says something flirty or gives you another wink and you feel so attacked by him
one time, when you were stopping buy to drop off his lunch, you could have sworn zheng ting glared fiercely at justin as he greeted you
and then you discovered that justin was still in high school like you?
he didn’t go to the same school, but he was on his school’s basketball team, and you spotted him at a game
you were there to support one of your own friends, but when justin had seen you, he waved and greeted you
you hadn’t realized that the two of you were close enough to be greeting each other at basketball games, but you obliged and waved back
“hey, who’s the guy?” your friend nudged you, wiggling her eyebrows
you rolled your eyes, shoving her back, “it’s no one.”
as you were leaving the gym that night to head home, you heard someone shout your name
justin jogged up to you, still slightly sweaty, but changed into street clothes, a gym bag slung over his shoulder
“(y/n), i should walk you home,” he said with a small smile, “your brother’s gonna be working late, and i know you guys don’t live in the best neighborhood.”
you looked over at justin suspiciously
“and zheng ting knows about this?”
justin grinned, “ey, he won’t mind if i save you from being mugged!”
“right,” you nodded as you started walking, “that’s why you’re doing this, to save me from being mugged.”
despite zheng ting’s warning, justin did seem really nice
and his strange, tough-guy appearance-- probably due to his involvement in the 101-- gave way to a much more playful, childish persona
“hey, i have a question,” you mentioned, glancing over at him, “how did you cover your tattoo? you know, during the game?”
“ah,” he nodded, “i used to use concealer, but it would wear off, so now I put a bit of athletic tape over it.”
you talked some more, impressed that he was able to juggle 101, regular school and being in the starting lineup for the basketball team
when you got to your house, justin stopped you momentarily
“(y/n), you should give me your phone number,” justin said, looking almost embarrassed
“why, so you can walk me home whenever zheng ting’s gonna be home late?” you asked, teasing,”here.”
you watched as justin punched his number into your phone, ears pink
and so, the two of you began talking via text, telling each other how your days went, talking about life and such
when you told zheng ting that you’d given justin your number, he frowned, but tried to play it off
fine, whatever, don’t say i didn’t warn you when he breaks your heart.”
the next day, you get a series of texts from justin
“yah, what did you tell your brother;; he scolded me for an hour straight to stay away from his sister;;; CALL YOUR GUARD DOG OFF IT’S BEEN AN HOUR AND A HALF;; I HAVE WORK”
you find yourself falling for justin, a sinking feeling in your stomach when you recalled zheng ting’s warning
but, the heart wants what it wants, and apparently, it wanted to beat out of your chest at 2am. when justin texted you funny cat vines
through his words, you somehow got the impression that he liked you, but you weren’t sure
one time, justin asked you to stop by his high school so that he could walk you home, as your brother would be staying at the 101 building a few hours late for some stuff
you entered the campus timidly, asking someone where you might find huang justin
the guy smirked a bit as he gave you a once-over, directing you towards the gym
you waited outside of the gym on a bench for a bit, texting him to let you know you were there
you spotted him walking out of the gym doors, and were about to call his name when you saw a girl walking behind him
you watched in half horror, half resignation as he said something to the girl, pulling her into a hug
not wanting to watch the scene any longer, you walked away, ignoring all the texts from justin asking where you were
you changed into your pyjamas, fully ready to climb in bed and sob when the doorbell rang
“(y/n), it’s justin, are you okay? are you home? what happened?”
you groaned, pulling out your phone
“i’m fine, go home,” you texted in response
“okay, well, if i can do anything, let me know,” justin shouted in response
you collapsed onto the couch, rolling yourself in a blanket and curling up, clutching one of the sofa cushions as tears rolled down your cheeks
it was the first time you’d ever experienced heartbreak, and of course, mr. heartbreaker himself would be the cause
you knew that you had no right to be mad at justin-- you guys weren’t dating
but you couldn’t help but think about all those times that he’d hinted that he might like at you
just thinking about it set you off into another wave of tears
you were drifting in and out of sleep, eyes puffy from your tears when zheng ting got home
“oh my god, (y/n),” he rushed over, kneeling down next to you and stroking your hair, “what happened?”
you looked up at your brother sleepily, “you were right.”
zheng ting sighed, lifting you up and carrying you to your bed
he got in as well, gently stroking your hair like your mom always did
“do you want me to talk to him?” your brother asked cautiously
while he might be protective of you, he also respected your decisions
you shook your head, just wanting to leave this all behind you
“you’ll get through this, (y/n),” zheng ting said quietly, patting your head
after the initial shock of the whole thing wore off, life returned to something akin to normal
you still felt pain about the whole thing, but you did your best to turn the anger you felt towards justin into resolve to become a better person
one night, you had to stay a bit late at school to study for a test coming up
normally, if you had to stay late, zheng ting would pick you up from school, and if not him, then justin
“i’ll be fine,” you told yourself firmly, “it’s just walking home, not through hell.”
lmao u thought
you were walking down a side-street to get to your apartment when you heard a loud crash
turning, you saw a tall guy, heavily tattooed, staring back at you
“look at that, it’s jung jung’s sister,” someone else said, making you turn around
your heart sped up as you realized you were surrounded by three guys, one of whom had a pocket knife out
“if you come with us quietly, nothing will happen to you.”
“i suggest you put the knife down,” an incredibly familiar voice snapped
you looked to see justin, brandishing a gun
a wave of emotions washed over you, the most prominent one being relief
“w-we weren’t going to do anything,” the guy with the knife said, setting it down and sliding it towards justin
“right,” justin snapped, kicking the knife behind him, “(y/n), get behind me,” he said in chinese, and you hurried to follow, before pausing
“you speak chinese?”
“not now, (y/n),” justin muttered, smiling slightly
“right, sorry”
justin leveled the gun, staring at the three guys, who now stood in a cluster, “i’ll let you off this once, but don’t come to 101 turf and threaten one of us ever again.”
the three guys ran off, each scolding each other
“(y/n), are you okay?” justin turned to you, clicking the safety of his gun on and tucking it away
you nodded, sighing shakily, “thank you.”
“why were you walking home by yourself?” he asked with a frown as the two of you started heading to your apartment, “i though i told you to just ask me, I really don’t mind.”
you shrugged-- clearly, zheng ting had respected your wishes and not talked to justin, who was clueless
“i just felt a bit weird asking you,” you replied with a shrug
“what?” justin frowned, “why?”
“You know,” you gestured, “cause of your girlfriend?”
“what girlfriend?”
“the one you were talking to, that day after school.”
justin gaped at you, “you mean areum?”
you glared at him, “justin, how would I know her name?”
“right, right,” justin sighed, “(y/n), areum confessed to me, but I turned her down, since I like someone else.”
“well, it’s still weird if you like someone else,” you pointed out
“no, idiot, not if that person’s you,” justin said teasingly, bumping his shoulder against yours
you stopped walking, giving justin a frown of your own, “justin, joking about feelings like that isn’t funny.”
justin faced you, “i wasn’t joking, (y/n), I like you.”
you stared up at him, unsure of how to feel
“(y/n)?” justin’s ears turned red like they always did when he was embarrassed, and he shifted the weight of his legs, “could you maybe say something? i kinda just confessed?”
“yah, huang minghao,” you snapped, hitting his chest, “i wasted tears on you. tears. I NEVER cry over boys.”
justin smiled, wrapping you up in a hug, “i promise i’ll never make you cry again, (y/n).”
you sighed, looking up at him, “don’t make promises you can’t keep.”
“i’ll keep you in my heart forever,” justin said, giving you his signature wink
you rolled your eyes, pulling away from him, “ah, I’m in love with the wrong person,” you said dramatically as he brought his arm around your shoulders
as the two of you started walking towards your apartment again, you felt him kiss your cheek quickly
“yah, huang minghao, who said you could kiss me?”
justin’s ears were bright red as he looked the other way in embarrassment
smiling, you leaned up, kissing his cheek as well
wow young love, how cute
you know that when you go to your like six-year-old cousin’s birthday party and there’s that one like, five year old who keeps trying to hit on you? i feel like that’s justin tbH
also, i was watching this radio show w/ some members of nct as hosts and yuehua boys were guests and a couple things stood out to me:
first, i think it’s bc their voice pitch is similar and their accents are similar, but justin REALLY sounds like minghao/the8 from svt, which is funny bc they’re both minghaos
second, jung jung seems to not talk very much bc he’s not confident in korean, which pains my heart bc he’s amazing and deserves all the screentime my bby it’s ok if ur korean is a bit flawed, the feeling is still there <3
also, the sprouts said that one of their potential company evaluation songs was eoeo by uniq and i screamed (if anyone has seen the eoeo dance, you know what i mean). yuehua sprouts are smol pls protect their innocence don’t make them grind on the floor @ yuehua
