HSHQTASK034: STYLE

STYLE OVERVIEW —

her style is very dependent on layering most of the time. she always makes sure there’s balance throughout her outfits. she doesn’t stray too far from browns, creams, blacks and beiges. loud and bold colours where she’ll stick out isn’t for her. she prefers colours that won’t die after a season or a trend. if it’s for a formal event, she’ll try something new and wear more colour than she normally does, but on a regular basis, she sticks to what she likes and knows. she used to shop a lot before, but has learned to downsize and no longer cares for what people think if she repeats an outfit twice or is seen carrying the same bag on ten different occasions. her style is very casual, but still refined enough to attend a meeting with anyone important after running errands.

for her outwear, she doesn’t like anything too long or oversized. she prefers to wear jackets that hit right below the waist. anything with buttons is her weakness, she prefers it over zippers. it’s cuter when it has buttons. 

she wears a lot of blouses and sweaters in the fall/winter season. it’s her favourite season. she gravitates toward any bottom article of clothing with an a-line that’s well-tailored with a slight baggy effect. any type and any length of skirt paired with boots is her uniform. 

in the summer season her style remains the same. a-line shorts, sleeveless tshirts with a neck scarf and always a boot.

her real hair length is short, she wears extensions depending on the day, it’s never longer than right below her shoulder unless if it’s for a photoshoot or a look for an event.

one word ? preppy. very academia based, lots of knits and pleats and collared button down shirts. neutral and dark colors, a hearty amount of plaid. though creativity peaks through sometimes. color comes in bold prints and statement pieces; boring silhouettes are made new again with fun embellishments, etc. 

FORMAL STYLE:

time and time again through her formal wear, we see nat’s love for traditional cuts, while dressing it up with patterns, feathers, or pops of color and simply accessorized.

⁺ HSHQTASK034  ›  araya’s style.

araya has a fairly diverse range of clothes.  she tries not to fit herself into a box of secluding herself to just one type of style.  she wears and owns a lot of menswear as well since she’s a tall gal and it complements her height well.  her initial career choice was fashion design before realizing she’s not cut out for garment making,  she switched career paths and stuck with buying and shopping clothes.  she likes finding unknown designers that deserve a spotlight,  but don’t get me wrong she still loves her high end luxury fashion houses.  she’s kind of in a transitional phase where she feels what she wears might not have her taken seriously,  but she’s coping through that by trying not to let what the public’s perception of how and what a princess should dress like.

DAY TO DAY

her style varies day to day,  but she does wear a lot of tighter silhouette’s that show her figure.  when she’s feeling lazy,  she’ll wear a crop top/tshirt with a blazer and skirt or pants with boots.  she likes a good set and playing around with different clothing textures.  she loves a good jacket!!!

honestly,  i was too lazy to find clothes she goes out in so instead i’ll take this opportunity to highlight her current favourite designer,  nensi dojaka.  probably has all of these in her closet,  waiting to be taken out on a cute date or a night out ♡

parker whitmore lands on our ‘worst dressed’ list yet again this week, with a khaki number that we just do not understand. it’s the white house coorespondent’s dinner, for god’s sake! wear a suit, wear a tie, do something normal for once in your life! i would feel bad for sutton if she wasn’t laughing through every question about it. - harper’s bazaar

the vibe is... neon shorts that are just a bit too short. a turtleneck in august. wearing something just because someone said it would look stupid on him. oversized button-up shirts that are never buttoned correctly. band t shirts from bands that no one cares about. a waffle house dad hat. sock and sandals, unapologetically. expensive, hand tailored suit jackets with a ripped iggy and the stooges shirt underneath. if a frat boy has worn it during rush week, so has parker. except parker was attending a climate change conference.

sweetheart necklines, heel straps wrapped around light wash jeans, subtle shimmer, exposed décolletage, accents of tiny gold jewellery, mixed fabrics of the same colour, monochromatic ensembles, intricate details in stitches, puff sleeves, nude lipstick, layered necklaces && fifty shades of white.

kseniya tends to stay far away from any loud colours or bold designs. she prefers to play with textures instead, which can be noted in her choice in attire for past formal events. she’s most comfortable in neutral colours, but even then, she prefers whites over blacks and greys. doesn’t wear a lot of crop tops, she wants to stay in irina’s good books so she’ll mostly show off her collarbones, rather than too much leg or midriff. you won’t ever catch her without gold jewellery, preferably extremely thin gold necklaces, bracelets, rings, etc. an avid believer in workout wear being workout wear. you will never ever ever catch her out in public wearing leggings —— exceptions are only for outdoorsy type activities. sneakers will only be worn out if it’s paired with a feminine outfit. she hates wearing jeans, but if she ever wears them then it’ll be the lightest wash, and only with heels. skirts are preferred.

VIEW:

xiuying has always been a no frills girl. she believes clothes send a strong message, but she’s not interested in being at the height of fashion trends. rather, her clothes are a reflection of what she wants to portray, she’s serious. a believer in quality over quantity and her favorite color to wear is black; it’s neat looking, and she looks powerful. colors come into play once every blue moon, usually in the form of a slinky satin dress. in general, she’s fairly moderate in terms of her style, she’s not one to show skin just to be raunchy, but she’s not up in arms about being covered up and conservative.

EVERYDAY:

dark bottoms, be it a skirt or pants, and a nice blouse or high neck top. depending on the day, she could opt for a casual tank. she likes casual slip dresses or wrap dresses. for shoes she likes chunky boots or strappy or pointy toed heels ( she likes heels bc she likes to be EXTRA tall. power trip sorta thing. ). big fan of thigh high boots if it fits the occasion. majority of her daily wear is black and neutral, if there’s a color it’s normally red or a rich jewel tone. jewelry is often silver, and simple, no more than earrings and a simple necklace. i would say ... business chic but make it sexy

FORMAL:

she prefers short dresses over long, but if it’s neccessary, she’ll wear a long dress. very much into satin, deep v-necks, asymmetrical looks ( where she kinda looks tangled in the fabric ! ), cut outs, and all things slinky. this is where you’d most likely see her wear color, but even so she prefers more neutral leaning things. that green is pushing it.

HAIR & MAKEUP:

she’s had the same hairstyle since she was like 15. slightly past shoulder length, normally curled lightly, but it’s long enough to style when needed. makeup is always fresh and she’s more concerned about skincare than she is makeup.

astrid’s wardrobe is made of three things: skater dresses, hats and sunglasses. she is pretty much always wearing a hat or sunglasses. she likes autumn and winter because she gets to wear different kinds of hats. she likes both loose fitting tops and tight tops but she almost never wears a tight skirt. she doesn’t own a single pencil skirt. she likes volume! she likes colors and white. black is reserved for formal events since it’s such a safe choice. her style varies depending on her mood but it’s pretty much always ‘girly’. she rarely goes for anything sexy or too business like. whenever she wear something truly memorable it’s because it’s been stolen from viveka’s closet or she saw the outfit on an influencer and decided to copy. a lot of her clothes are rip offs of the jenners or the vs models’ clothes.

Miray’s everyday outfit is a t-shirt with either a maxi skirt or some flowy pants. In the colder climates, she will go for jeans and a sweater but always in warm summer colors. Yellows, reds, pinks, bright blues are what you’ll more likely see her in. She’s particularly a big fan of Yellow and flower patterns. 

She doesn’t use a Hijab every day but will use it often enough - out of the two siblings she’s definitely the most religious one but she doesn’t really use it just cause “she has too”. She loves pretty patterns and soft-colored hijabs with flowers and jeans? Aesthetic af.

If you ever see her shoulders or knees assume the world is ending. It’s mostly a modesty thing but also she just like the wood nymph vibes. You will, however, see her bare feet a lot. Shoes are optional. When she does wear shoes she goes for the comfy stuff 9 times out of 10. So sneakers, flipflops, sandals, those like 3-4cm “heels” you get the vibe. 

When she’s going to events she likes wearing more traditional Islamic clothing and will often opt for long sleeves and floor-length skirts even if they’re heavy and kind of a bother in general. Is crazy for some embroidery or stone details.

Inari’s style is very laid back. She doesn’t feel the need to look flawless all the time and she really doesn’t like dressing up. She just wants to wear things that are comfortable and don’t divide opinions.

Is it summer? Yes. Is she going out in the evening? Yes. Then she has her leather jacket with her. It has become her favourite article of clothing because it works with everything and she thinks she looks good. She wears a lot of black because it’s easy. Graphic Ts are something she likes and in summer she prefers chiffon skirts over jeans. She uses two kinds of bags: big cotton tote bags with some cute picture, or she has her leather back pack. She doesn’t really own purses, just one party mini purse and that’s it.

Is it a school day? Yes. Is she doing anything special? No. Then it’s a sweat shirt or a polo with blue jeans and white sneakers. Does it look effortless? Yes, because it is.

Winter time though? She has a huge collection of wool coats. That’s where she went a bit crazy. If she wears jewelry it’s something very simple, gold or silver, no gems.

When she needs to look fancy she opts for a simple dress or a women’s suit. She doesn’t do high heels. She would like to be able to wear them but they just hurt too much. The rare occasions she has worn heels to an event, she has regretted it deeply.

very... expressive and in touch with her fashion sense. mostly, she dresses to impress because first impressions are everything to her. but, afterwards, do not be surprised if you see her in comfortable sweats as shown in pictures 2-4 in the second row. but... yeah, she enjoys dressing pretty - it makes her all giddy on the inside. in fact, she mostly dresses pretty for herself.

VIEW ON FASHION:

natalia has always been fond of pretty things, and clothing was definitely not exempt from that. from a young age she understood that what you wore was a heavy reflection of who you were- which sent her full spiral into the world of fashion. her mother never had trouble getting her to wear dresses or to look nice- she often liked to do it on her own. she likes looking at trends and seeing whats on the rise- it’s an interesting science that she thinks is often overlooked. she’s made a few mistakes and worn ugly things- but hey, that’s just the nature of trends and fads. natalia has no allegience to any certain fashion house, but she prides herself in being a friend of many houses- first burberry, miu miu, and dior- brands that images aligned with hers. during her time as giovanni’s girlfriend, many italian houses were dying to dress her, which allowed her to make relations with versace and prada. 

EVERYDAY CASUAL:

her casual style often entails matching sets or blazers matched with dresses or jeans. she likes occasional pops of color, though she goes about them very carefully- only one item in a bright color, or the entire outfit, to avoid clashing. she likes a classic trench coat and plaid skirts and sets as well. if opting for a more professional look, she often looks to matching pant suits, dressed up with heels. (or dressed down with sneakers.) it’s 2020, and i’ve decided natalia is NOT above athlesiure- if she is leaving a workout then she’s wearing bike shorts and a sweatshirts, or something of the sort, because... it’s practical attire... she’s not gonna be in a dress and doing pilates, alright ?? 

FORMAL:

natalia appreciates the classic silhouettes like dior’s new look- a cinched waist and a slightly flared skirt- but also loves fitted dresses and the extravagance of tulle from marchesa or giambattista valli. i mean- basically she’ll wear any gown that she thinks is pretty and appropriate for the event. but she leans more simple than extravagant.

natalia is a medium brunette- she likes her hair at a medium length. on the daily she embraces her natural waves and will pull it into a pony tail or half up half down. for events, she will style her hair- sleek buns, curled, braided, straightened- it depends on the look she’s going for.

quality over quantity, sustainable materials, ethical production. viveka used to have a huge closet, over the years she has done some downsizing and just doesn’t shop that much. she picks pieces that please the eye and show craftmanship, she wants each article of clothing to be exceptional on its own. she wears a lot of yellow, white and blue. faux fur, embroidery and knits pretty much make her closet. 

her style is a bit of a mix of the 70s and just very basic “girly” stuff. having a lot of color is the only constant. she doesn’t shy away from heels or tight dresses but they are saved for special occasions.
