We at Gossip Iceland are more than excited to see our favorite royals at the Bernadotte Christmas Party this weekend. It is the very first outing with brand new sibling, Edda Egillsdottir (or should we say Magnusdottir now?), at her side. We’ve heard of tensions in the royal family, so maybe we’ll get some really juicy gossip! 

Luckily, Natasja and Edda both dressed to impress at the party, with Natasja wearing Louis Vuitton in what she called, “A strange homage to Bjork’s ‘...It’s Oh So Quiet.’ music video.” Lately, the (crown!) princess has been embracing her Icelandic heritage in her fashion choices. We stan an Icelandic (future) queen!

It was a cluster of shimmering outfits and guests dripping in gold and diamonds, and Ronan Ludolf paid very little attention to them as he wove his way through the crowd, in search of the bar. He’d promised to get Tatiana something to drink--a ginger ale or sparkling water, more likely than not--and had something a bit harder in mind for himself. As Ronan elbowed his way through the crowd, grumbling in mild irritation to himself, he held a hand up to catch the bartender’s expression.

“A glass of water and a beer--whatever you’ve got cold and on tap.”

Alphonse hardly had the opportunity to speak with Astrid yet, but he had to admit that her family knew how to throw a decent party. The julbord alone was a masterpiece, with decadent delights that even he hadn’t tried- and he prided himself in being somewhat of an expert in obscure foods. Given that he currently found himself lacking the type of female company he normally had at such events, and Astrid was nowhere in sight, his mission was clear.

It hadn’t taken the prince long to pile up a nearly abhorrent plate of meats and cheeses, with a tall glass of julöl, something described to him as a Christmas beer, to wash it all down. He was ready to settle in for a feast for the ages before a vaguely familiar face caught the corner of his eye. “And here I was thinking I would not be seeing a friendly face for a while. You’re not trying to play the wallflower again, are you your Highness?”

No one else was dancing but the song that had just started was slow and seem sweet, though it wasn’t one that he knew. Aslan turned to Layla, taking the glass out of her hand and setting it down as he held out his hand for her’s. “May I have this dancing?” He asked, offering a charming if a little unsure smile. | @laylabahiti

The party was a great deal more crowded than Ronan had been expecting. Perhaps it was because he and Tatiana (who was more than likely off chatting with other Ukrainian diplomats and sneaking food from wandering serving trays) were fairly new to Oslo, or because he estimated just how many privileged, royal folk had an interest in parties. It was by no means the loudest or rowdiest party Ronan had been to, not by a long shot, but--there was no one for him to talk to here. No one aside from the other workers, he was confident, would pay him the slightest bit of attention.

“Excuse me,” he grumbled through his teeth, more out of necessary than a desire to be polite to these people--these heirs and heiresses who held all of the world’s wealth and power in the palms of their hands.He moved through the crowd like silk and shadows, weaving through the throng of bodies with one destination in mind: food and refreshments.
