KUROO TETSURO
The rain drummed against the windows as you curled up on the couch, feeling like the weight of the world was crushing you. Tears streamed down your face, and you couldn't hold back the sobs any longer. That's when you felt the couch dip beside you and a familiar warmth envelop you.
"Hey, hey," Kuroo's voice was soft as he pulled you into his arms. "What's going on, babe?"
You buried your face in his chest, clinging to his shirt. "Everything's unwell, Tetsu," you managed between sobs.
His hand moved to stroke your hair, his touch gentle and soothing. "Talk to me. What's got you so upset?"
Taking a shaky breath, you tried to gather your thoughts. "It's... it's everything. Work's a nightmare, I'm drowning in deadlines. And then there's all this family drama... I just... I can't handle it all."
"I know, baby, I know," Kuroo murmured, his voice filled with understanding. "It's a lot to deal with. But you're not alone in this, okay? I'm right here with you."
You nodded against his chest, his steady heartbeat a calming rhythm. "I feel like I'm letting everyone down," you whispered. "Like no matter what I do, it's never enough."
Kuroo pulled back slightly, just enough to look into your eyes. His gaze was intense but warm. "Hey, look at me. You're not letting anyone down. You're doing your best, and that's all anyone can ask for. We all have rough patches."
"But what if my best isn't good enough?" you asked, voice barely audible.
He cupped your face in his hands, thumbs gently wiping away your tears. "Your best is always good enough for me. And for anyone who really matters. You're incredible, you know that? The way you keep pushing forward, even when things get tough... that's real strength."
You leaned into his touch, closing your eyes. "I don't feel very strong right now."
"That's okay," Kuroo said softly. "You don't have to be strong all the time. That's what I'm here for. Let me be strong for you when you need it."
A small smile tugged at your lips despite everything. "What did I do to deserve you?"
"You're you," he replied simply. "That's more than enough."
You sat in comfortable silence for a while, his fingers running through your hair, occasionally massaging your scalp. The rhythmic motion slowly eased some of the tension from your body.
"Remember that time we got caught in that sudden downpour after practice?" Kuroo asked suddenly, a hint of amusement in his voice.
You couldn't help but chuckle softly. "How could I forget? You tried to cover both of us with your jacket."
"Hey, I was being chivalrous," he protested with a mock pout.
"You were being ridiculous," you countered, feeling a bit lighter. "We ended up soaked anyway."
"Yeah, but it was fun, wasn't it?" He grinned down at you. "We laughed the whole way home."
The memory warmed you from the inside. "And then we made hot chocolate and binge-watched movies all night."
"Exactly," Kuroo said, his voice softening. "Even when things don't go as planned, we always find a way to make it work. Together."
You nodded, snuggling closer to him. "Thank you, Tetsu. For always being here."
"Always," he promised, pressing a kiss to your forehead. "I'm not going anywhere, babe. No matter what."
You sat there for a while longer, listening to the rain and Kuroo's steady breathing. The storm inside you gradually calmed, replaced by a sense of peace.
"Hey," Kuroo said after a while. "How about we order some takeout and have a movie night? Just like old times."
The idea brought a genuine smile to your face. "That sounds perfect."
"Any requests?" he asked, reaching for his phone.
"Surprise me," you said, feeling a flicker of excitement.
As Kuroo placed the order, you settled more comfortably against him, feeling truly relaxed for the first time in days.
"You know," Kuroo said thoughtfully, "it's okay to not have everything figured out. We're in this together, yeah? Whatever comes our way, we'll face it as a team."
You looked up at him, feeling a surge of love and gratitude. "Yeah, we will."
He grinned, that familiar mischievous glint in his eyes. "Besides, I'm pretty sure between your brains and my devastatingly good looks, we can handle anything."
You laughed, swatting his arm playfully. "You're ridiculous."
"You love it," he retorted, leaning down to kiss you softly.
You kissed him back, pouring all your gratitude and love into it. When you pulled apart, you felt lighter, more hopeful.
"So," Kuroo said, reaching for the remote. "What are we watching? Your pick. Just nothing too sappy, okay? I've got a reputation to maintain."
You raised an eyebrow. "A reputation? As what, exactly?"
"As a cool, collected guy who definitely doesn't cry at movies," he said with a straight face.
"Oh really?" you teased. "So that wasn't you sobbing into my shoulder during 'Your Name'?"
Kuroo gasped dramatically. "I was not sobbing. I had something in my eye. Both eyes. For two hours."
You couldn't help but giggle. "Sure, sure. And I suppose you were just 'stretching' when you reached for the tissues during 'A Silent Voice'?"
"Exactly," he nodded solemnly. "It's important to keep your arms limber, you know. Volleyball and all that."
"Uh-huh," you said, your mood lifting with each moment of banter. "And I suppose your nose just happened to be running during 'Grave of the Fireflies'?"
Kuroo clutched his chest in mock offense. "How dare you bring that up? That's a low blow, babe. Low blow."
You laughed outright, the sound filling the room. "I'm sorry, I forgot about your 'reputation'."
"That's right," he said, puffing out his chest. "I'm Kuroo Tetsurou, former captain of Nekoma, and definitely not a crier at emotional movies."
"Of course," you agreed, your voice dripping with sarcasm. "My mistake."
He grinned down at you, clearly pleased to see you laughing. "That's more like it. There's that smile I love."
You felt your cheeks warm slightly. "Thanks, Tetsu. For everything."
"Anytime, babe," he said, his tone softening. "But don't go spreading rumors about me crying at movies, okay? I've got to keep some mysteries alive in this relationship."
"Oh?" you raised an eyebrow. "And what mysteries would those be?"
"Well, for one, how I maintain this perfect bed head," he ran a hand through his perpetually messy hair. "It's an art form, really."
You snorted. "I hate to break it to you, but I've seen you first thing in the morning. That's no art form – that's just your hair rebelling against gravity."
"You wound me," Kuroo clutched his heart again. "Here I am, comforting you in your time of need, and you attack my hair. The audacity."
You giggled, feeling the last of your earlier stress melt away. "I'm sorry. Your hair is perfect, just like the rest of you."
"Now that's more like it," he smirked, pulling you closer. "Keep the compliments coming. They fuel my ego."
"As if your ego needs any more fuel," you retorted, but there was no heat in your words.
Kuroo chuckled, the sound rumbling in his chest. "True. But I'll never say no to praise from my favorite person."
As you settled in to wait for the food and pick a movie, you realized how much lighter you felt. The problems from earlier hadn't disappeared, but somehow, with Kuroo's mix of sincere support and playful teasing, they seemed more manageable.
"Hey, Tetsu?" you said softly.
"Yeah, babe?"
"Thank you. For always knowing how to make me feel better."
His expression softened, and he pressed a kiss to your forehead. "Always. That's what I'm here for. Well, that and to provide eye candy, of course."
You laughed again, snuggling closer to him. "Of course. What would I do without your stunning good looks to distract me from my problems?"
"You’ll never have to find out," he said with a wink.
As you scrolled through movie options, debating the merits of various films (with Kuroo adamantly denying any interest in the more emotional ones), you felt truly at peace.
BOKUTO KOTARO
The rain drummed against the windows as you curled up on the couch, feeling like the weight of the world was crushing you. Tears streamed down your face, and you couldn't hold back the sobs any longer. That's when you felt the couch dip beside you and a familiar presence settle next to you.
"Hey, hey, hey," Bokuto's voice was unusually subdued as he awkwardly patted your shoulder. "What's... uh, what's going on?"
You buried your face in your hands, your body shaking with sobs. "It's my pet, Bou’," you managed between gasps. "The vet called. They... they said there's nothing more they can do."
"Oh," Bokuto said, his hand freezing mid-pat. "That's... that's really bad. Um, do you want some water or something?"
You shook your head, trying to catch your breath. "I don't know how to say goodbye," you whispered.
Bokuto shifted uncomfortably beside you. "I know baby, I know, w-well, maybe... maybe you could give them a really big hug? That always makes me feel better."
Despite your pain, you couldn't help but let out a watery chuckle. "It's not that simple, Bou’."
"Right, right," he nodded, running a hand through his hair. "Sorry, I'm not good at this stuff. But hey, remember that time your pet ate my favorite knee pads? That was pretty funny, right?"
You blinked at him, torn between laughter and more tears. "Bou’, I don't think now's the time for funny stories."
"Oh," he deflated slightly. "Yeah, you're probably right. Um... do you want me to call Akaashi? He's better at this kind of thing."
You shook your head, wiping your eyes. "No, it's okay. I just... I just need you here."
"Okay," Bokuto nodded, determination setting in his features. "I can do that. I'm really good at being here. The best, even!"
He hesitantly wrapped an arm around you, pulling you against his side. It was a bit too tight, a bit too awkward, but it was comforting in its own way.
"You know," he said after a moment of silence, "I'm not sure what to say to make you feel better. But I'm here, okay? And I'll stay as long as you need me to."
You nodded against his chest, feeling a rush of affection for your well-meaning but slightly clueless boyfriend. "Thank you, Bou’. That means a lot."
"And hey," he added, his voice brightening slightly, "if you want, we could go get some ice cream later. Ice cream always makes me feel better when I'm sad."
You couldn't help but smile a little through your tears. "Maybe later," you agreed softly.
Bokuto nodded, looking pleased that he'd made a helpful suggestion. He continued to hold you, occasionally patting your back or making small, encouraging noises. It wasn't perfect comfort, but it was genuine and uniquely Bokuto.
As the evening wore on, you and Bokuto settled into a more comfortable position on the couch. You were curled up against his chest, his arms wrapped around you in a protective embrace. The rain continued to patter against the windows, creating a soothing background noise.
"Hey," Bokuto said suddenly, his voice vibrating in his chest. "Did I ever tell you about the time Kuroo and I tried to teach Kenma how to spike?"
You shook your head slightly, curious despite your lingering sadness.
"Oh man, it was hilarious," Bokuto continued, his voice taking on that excited tone he always got when telling a story. "So, Kenma's always been more of a setter, right? But Kuroo had this brilliant idea that Kenma should learn to spike too."
As Bokuto launched into the tale, complete with animated hand gestures that jostled you slightly, you found yourself getting caught up in the story despite yourself.
"And then," Bokuto was saying, barely containing his laughter, "Kenma just looks at us, deadpan as ever, and says 'I think I'll stick to setting.' Meanwhile, Kuroo's still tangled in the net!"
You couldn't help but chuckle softly at the mental image. "Poor Kuroo," you murmured.
"Nah, he deserved it," Bokuto grinned. "He's the one who came up with the idea in the first place."
There was a moment of comfortable silence before Bokuto spoke again. "Hey, remember that volleyball match we went to last month? The one where that player did that amazing cross-court spike?"
You nodded, a small smile tugging at your lips as you recalled Bokuto's excitement during that game.
"Well," Bokuto continued, his voice taking on a conspiratorial tone, "I've been practicing that move. I think I've almost got it down. Maybe... maybe when you're feeling up to it, you could come watch me practice?"
The invitation was clearly Bokuto's attempt at giving you something to look forward to. It was clumsy but sweet, and you felt a rush of affection for him.
"I'd like that," you said softly.
Bokuto beamed, clearly pleased with himself. "Great! It's going to be awesome, you'll see. I might even let you toss for me a few times."
You raised an eyebrow. "Let me? I thought you loved my tosses."
"Of course I do!" Bokuto backpedaled quickly. "Your tosses are the best! Well, maybe second best after Akaashi's. But don't tell him I said that."
You chuckled softly, snuggling closer to him. "Your secret's safe with me."
As Bokuto continued to chatter about volleyball, his latest video game obsession, and a funny thing he saw on TV the other day, you found your mind drifting away from your earlier sadness. The pain wasn't gone, but Bokuto's presence and his earnest attempts to cheer you up were like a balm to your aching heart.
You weren't okay yet, but wrapped in Bokuto's warm embrace, listening to his animated stories, you felt like maybe, eventually, you would be.
SUNA RINTAROU
The rain drummed against the windows as you curled up on the couch, feeling like the weight of the world was crushing you. Tears streamed down your face, and you couldn't hold back the sobs any longer. That's when you felt the couch dip beside you and a familiar presence settle next to you.
"Hey," Suna's voice was quiet as he sat down, maintaining a slight distance. "What's going on?"
You buried your face in your hands, your body shaking with sobs. "I didn't get the job, Rin," you managed between gasps. "The one I've been working towards for months. They... they said I wasn't what they were looking for."
"Oh," Suna said, his voice neutral but his eyes softening slightly. "That's rough."
You shook your head, trying to catch your breath. "I don't know what to do now," you whispered. "I put everything into this."
Suna was silent for a moment, then slowly reached out and placed his hand on your back. "I know baby, I know, but it's not the end," he said finally, his voice low and calm. "There will be other opportunities."
Despite your disappointment, you found his steady presence oddly comforting. "But I wanted this one so badly," you admitted.
"I know," Suna replied, his hand moving in small circles on your back. "It's okay to be upset about it. Take your time to process."
You blinked at him, surprised by his insight. "I didn't think you'd understand," you said softly.
Suna shrugged, a tiny smirk tugging at his lips. "I'm full of surprises."
You leaned into him slightly, and he adjusted his position to accommodate you. His arm wrapped around you, not too tight, just enough to let you know he was there.
"Want me to order some takeout?" he asked after a moment of silence. "Might help take your mind off things for a bit."
You nodded, wiping your eyes. "That sounds good. Can we just... sit here for a while after that?"
"Sure," Suna nodded, reaching for his phone with his free hand. "I can do that."
He didn't say much more as he placed the order, but his presence remained steady and calming. Every now and then, he'd squeeze your shoulder gently or brush a strand of hair from your face.
"You know," he said after a while, his voice quiet, "it's okay to feel disappointed. But don't let this define you. You're more than just this one opportunity."
You nodded against his chest, feeling a rush of gratitude for your normally aloof but surprisingly perceptive boyfriend. "Thank you, Rin. This... this helps."
Suna hummed in acknowledgment, his fingers idly playing with your hair. It wasn't an overly emotional display of comfort, but it was genuine and uniquely Suna.
As the evening progressed, the rain outside intensified, creating a cozy atmosphere inside. The takeout Suna had ordered arrived, and you both ate in comfortable silence, with Suna occasionally glancing at you to make sure you were eating.
After dinner, Suna wordlessly pulled you back to the couch, this time positioning himself so that he was lying down with you nestled against his chest. His arms wrapped around you securely, one hand gently stroking your hair.
"Better?" he murmured, his voice a low rumble in his chest.
You nodded, snuggling closer to him. "Much better," you whispered.
Suna's usual stoic expression softened slightly, a rare, gentle smile tugging at his lips. "Good," he said, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead.
You lay there in comfortable silence for a while, listening to the rain and Suna's steady heartbeat. His fingers continued to run through your hair, occasionally massaging your scalp in a way that made you practically melt against him.
"You know," Suna said after a while, his voice uncharacteristically gentle, "I'm proud of you."
You tilted your head to look up at him, surprised. "What for? I didn't get the job."
Suna shook his head slightly. "For trying. For putting yourself out there. That takes guts."
His words warmed you from the inside, and you felt tears prick at your eyes again – but this time, they were tears of gratitude and love.
"Thanks, Rin," you whispered, burying your face in his chest.
Suna's arms tightened around you slightly. "Hey," he said, his voice soft but firm. "Look at me."
You raised your head, meeting his intense gaze.
"You're amazing," he said, his tone leaving no room for argument. "One setback doesn't change that. Got it?"
You nodded, a small smile forming on your lips. "Got it."
"Good," Suna said, pulling you close again. "Now, how about we watch that terrible reality show you love? I'll even promise not to make fun of it... much."
You couldn't help but laugh, the sound muffled against his chest. "You're the best, you know that?"
Suna smirked, reaching for the remote. "I know," he said, his tone playful. "Don't tell anyone though. I have a reputation to maintain."
As the show started playing, you settled more comfortably against Suna, feeling truly relaxed for the first time since receiving the bad news. His presence was like a warm, comforting blanket, chasing away the lingering doubts and disappointments.
Every now and then, Suna would drop a kiss on your head or squeeze you gently, as if reminding you that he was there. Despite his usual cool demeanor, in moments like these, his affection was clear and unwavering.
TOBIO KAGEYAMA
The rain drummed against the windows as you curled up on the couch, feeling like the weight of the world was crushing you. Tears streamed down your face, and you couldn't hold back the sobs any longer. That's when you heard the front door open and close, followed by familiar footsteps.
"I'm home," Kageyama called out, his voice trailing off as he entered the living room and saw you. "Hey... what's wrong?"
You looked up at him, your vision blurry with tears. "Tobio," you managed between sobs. "I... I failed my final exam. I might not graduate on time."
Kageyama's eyes widened slightly, clearly caught off guard. He hesitated for a moment before awkwardly sitting down next to you on the couch. "Oh," he said, his voice uncertain. "That's... that's bad."
You nodded, burying your face in your hands. "I studied so hard," you whispered. "I don't know what went wrong."
Kageyama sat there stiffly for a moment, clearly unsure of what to do. Then, slowly, he reached out and patted your back. "I know baby, I know…um... it'll be okay?" he offered, his tone more of a question than a statement.
Despite your distress, you couldn't help but let out a watery chuckle at his awkward attempt at comfort. "I don't know if it will be, Tobio," you said softly.
Kageyama frowned, his brow furrowing in concentration as if he was trying to solve a particularly difficult volleyball play. Then, seemingly coming to a decision, he shifted closer and wrapped an arm around your shoulders, pulling you against his side.
"Listen," he said, his voice taking on the determined tone he usually reserved for volleyball. "One failed exam doesn't define you. You're... you're smart. And hardworking. Like when you're setting - one bad set doesn't make you a bad setter. You just... try again."
You blinked up at him, surprised by his words. "Tobio..."
"And," he continued, gaining confidence, "if you need to retake the class, then we'll figure it out. I'll... I'll help you study. Or find someone who can. We're a team, right?"
You nodded, feeling a warmth bloom in your chest despite your disappointment. "Right," you whispered.
Kageyama nodded decisively, then awkwardly pulled you closer, resting his chin on top of your head. "Do you... do you want some milk?" he asked after a moment. "Milk always makes me feel better."
You couldn't help but smile through your tears. "No, this is good," you said, snuggling closer to him. "Can we just stay like this for a while?"
"Sure," Kageyama said, his body relaxing slightly. "I can do that."
As you sat there, listening to the rain and Kageyama's steady heartbeat, you felt your distress slowly start to ebb. Kageyama might not be the most eloquent or naturally comforting person, but his earnest efforts and steady presence were exactly what you needed.
"Thank you, Tobio," you murmured.
Kageyama just nodded, his arms tightening around you slightly.
As the evening wore on, Kageyama's initial awkwardness faded, replaced by a determined sort of tenderness. He gently maneuvered both of you so that you were lying on the couch, with you nestled against his chest. His arms wrapped around you securely, one hand absently stroking your hair.
"Is this okay?" he asked, his voice softer than usual.
You nodded, snuggling closer to him. "It's perfect," you murmured.
Kageyama made a small noise of satisfaction, his body relaxing further. You lay there in comfortable silence for a while, listening to the rain and Kageyama's steady heartbeat. His fingers continued to run through your hair, the gentle motion soothing your frayed nerves.
After a while, Kageyama spoke up again. "Hey," he said, his voice thoughtful. "Remember when I couldn't get that quick to work with Hinata?"
You tilted your head to look up at him, curious. "Yeah, during your first year at Karasuno, right?"
Kageyama nodded. "I thought it was the end of the world," he admitted. "But then I figured it out. And we got even better."
You smiled softly, understanding what he was trying to say. "You're right," you said. "This isn't the end."
"Exactly," Kageyama said, a hint of his usual intensity creeping into his voice. "You'll figure this out too. And I'll be here to help. We can make a study schedule, like a training regimen. I'm good at those."
You couldn't help but laugh softly at his earnestness. "Thank you, Tobio. That actually sounds really helpful."
A small, proud smile tugged at Kageyama's lips. He leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead. "You're smart," he said matter-of-factly. "Smarter than me in a lot of ways. If I can become the best setter in Japan, you can definitely pass this exam."
His unwavering confidence in you brought fresh tears to your eyes, but this time they were tears of gratitude and love. "You're amazing, you know that?" you whispered.
Kageyama's cheeks flushed slightly, but he didn't look away. "Not as amazing as you," he mumbled.
You reached up and cupped his face, pulling him down for a soft kiss. When you pulled apart, Kageyama's eyes were shining with affection.
"Hey," he said suddenly. "Want to watch some volleyball matches? I recorded a few from the V.League. Might take your mind off things for a bit."
You smiled, nodding. "That sounds perfect."
As Kageyama reached for the remote, keeping one arm securely around you, you felt a wave of peace wash over you. The disappointment of your failed exam was still there, but it no longer felt overwhelming. With Kageyama by your side, his love expressed through actions rather than words, you felt like you could face anything.
As the match started playing, Kageyama's excitement became contagious. He pointed out clever plays and impressive serves, his analytical mind breaking down each move. You found yourself getting caught up in his enthusiasm, the stress of the day melting away as you shared this moment with him.
OIKAWA TOORU
The rain drummed against the windows as you curled up on the couch, feeling like the weight of the world was crushing you. Tears streamed down your face, and you couldn't hold back the sobs any longer. That's when you heard the front door open and close, followed by familiar footsteps.
"I'm home, love!" Oikawa's cheerful voice called out, but it quickly shifted to concern as he entered the living room. "Wait, what's wrong?"
You looked up at him, your vision blurry with tears. "Tooru," you managed between sobs. "I just got a call from home. My grandmother... she's in the hospital. They don't know if she'll make it."
Oikawa's playful demeanor vanished instantly. In a heartbeat, he was by your side, gathering you into his arms. "Oh, sweetheart," he murmured, his voice soft and gentle. "I'm so sorry."
You buried your face in his chest, clinging to his shirt as fresh sobs wracked your body. Oikawa held you tightly, one hand stroking your back while the other cradled your head.
"Shh, it's okay," he soothed, rocking you gently. "I've got you. Let it all out."
For a while, he just held you, murmuring soft words of comfort as you cried. When your sobs finally subsided into quiet sniffles, Oikawa pulled back slightly, cupping your face in his hands.
"Look at me, love," he said softly. You raised your eyes to meet his warm brown gaze. "We're going to get through this together, okay? Whatever happens, I'm right here with you."
You nodded weakly, leaning into his touch. "I'm scared, Tooru," you whispered.
"I know, baby, I know" he said, brushing away your tears with his thumbs. "It's okay to be scared. But remember, your grandmother is strong. She raised you, after all."
Despite your distress, a tiny smile tugged at your lips. Oikawa's own lips quirked up in response.
"There's that beautiful smile," he said, leaning in to press a soft kiss to your forehead. "Now, what can I do to help? Do you want to go visit her? I can book flights right now if you want."
You shook your head. "Not yet. The doctors said to wait until morning for more news."
Oikawa nodded. "Okay, then we'll wait together. How about I run you a warm bath? And then we can cuddle and watch your favorite movie. Or we can just talk. Whatever you need, I'm here."
You felt a rush of gratitude wash over you. "Thank you, Tooru. I don't know what I'd do without you."
Oikawa's expression softened, his eyes filled with love. "You'll never have to find out," he promised. "Now, come on. Let's get you feeling a bit better."
After the warm bath Oikawa had prepared for you, he guided you back to the living room. He had transformed the couch into a cozy nest of blankets and pillows. With gentle hands, he helped you settle in, then slid in beside you, pulling you close against his chest.
"Better?" he asked softly, his breath warm against your ear.
You nodded, snuggling deeper into his embrace. "Much better," you murmured.
Oikawa hummed contentedly, his arms tightening around you. One hand began to gently stroke your hair, his long fingers working through any tangles with practiced ease.
"You know," he said after a while, his voice quiet but warm, "I remember when my grandmother was in the hospital a few years ago. I was so scared, just like you are now."
You tilted your head to look up at him. "What happened?"
A small smile played on Oikawa's lips. "She got better. And do you know what she said to me when I visited her? She said, 'Tooru, my boy, it takes more than this to keep an Oikawa down.'"
Despite your worry, you couldn't help but chuckle softly. "She sounds amazing."
"She is," Oikawa agreed. "Just like your grandmother. They're cut from the same cloth, those tough old ladies."
He pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead. "Your grandmother has that same strength. And she has you to come back to. That's more than enough reason for her to fight."
Tears welled up in your eyes again, but this time they were mixed with hope. "Thank you, Tooru," you whispered.
"Always, my love," he replied, brushing away your tears with his thumb. "Now, how about we watch that alien documentary I've been trying to get you to see? I promise it'll take your mind off things."
You couldn't help but smile at his enthusiasm. "Okay," you agreed. "But only if you keep holding me like this."
"As if I'd ever let you go," Oikawa said, reaching for the remote while keeping one arm securely around you.
As the documentary started playing, Oikawa's excitement became infectious. He whispered commentary in your ear, his theories growing more and more outlandish as the show went on. You found yourself laughing despite your earlier distress, caught up in Oikawa's boundless enthusiasm.
Every so often, he'd pause his commentary to drop a kiss on your head or squeeze you gently, as if reminding you that he was there, that you weren't alone in this.
As the night wore on and your eyelids grew heavy, Oikawa adjusted your positions so you were lying down, your head pillowed on his chest. His heartbeat was a steady, comforting rhythm beneath your ear.
"Sleep, love," he murmured, his fingers tracing soothing patterns on your back. "I'll be right here. And first thing in the morning, we'll call the hospital for news, okay?"
You nodded sleepily, feeling safe and loved in Oikawa's arms. "Thank you, Tooru," you whispered. "I love you."
"I love you too," he replied softly. "More than all the stars in the universe."
KORAI HOSHIUMI
The rain drummed against the windows as you curled up on the couch, feeling like the weight of the world was crushing you. Tears streamed down your face, and you couldn't hold back the sobs any longer. That's when you heard the front door burst open, followed by energetic footsteps.
"I'm home!" Hoshiumi's loud voice rang out, but it quickly shifted to concern as he bounded into the living room. "Hey! What's wrong? Why are you crying?"
You looked up at him, your vision blurry with tears. "Korai," you managed between sobs. "I just lost my job. The company... they're downsizing and I... I was let go."
Hoshiumi's eyes widened, his usual boundless energy momentarily stunned into stillness. Then, in a flash, he was by your side, his small but strong arms wrapping around you.
"What?! That's terrible!" he exclaimed, his voice a mix of outrage and concern. "How dare they! Don't they know how amazing you are?"
You buried your face in his shoulder, fresh sobs wracking your body. Hoshiumi held you tightly, one hand patting your back with perhaps a bit more force than necessary, but the gesture was comforting nonetheless.
"Hey, hey, it's okay, I know baby, I know" he said, his voice softer but still intense. "We're going to get through this. You're strong, just like me! This is just a setback, not the end!"
For a while, he just held you, occasionally interjecting with words of encouragement and promises of retribution against your former employers. When your sobs finally subsided into quiet sniffles, Hoshiumi pulled back, his hands on your shoulders as he looked you in the eye.
"Listen to me," he said, his gaze fierce and determined. "You're incredible. Those idiots don't know what they're losing. But you know what? This just means you're free to find something even better!"
You blinked at him, caught off guard by his unwavering confidence. "But Korai, what if I can't find another job?"
Hoshiumi scoffed, puffing out his chest. "Of course you will! You're dating the Little Giant, aren't you? We don't give up! We rise above every challenge!"
Despite your distress, a small smile tugged at your lips. Hoshiumi's enthusiasm was, as always, contagious.
"There's that smile!" he grinned, reaching up to wipe away your tears. "Now, here's what we're going to do. First, we're going to eat some ice cream because that always makes me feel better. Then, we're going to make a plan. I'll help you update your resume, and it'll be so amazing that companies will be fighting to hire you!"
You felt a wave of affection wash over you. "Thank you, Korai. I don't know what I'd do without you."
Hoshiumi's expression softened, his eyes filled with determination and love. "You'll never have to find out," he promised. "We're a team, and together, we're unstoppable!"
After devouring a pint of ice cream together, Hoshiumi led you back to the couch. Despite his small stature, he maneuvered you both so that you were lying down, with you nestled securely in his arms. His body radiated warmth and energy, even in stillness.
"Comfortable?" he asked, his voice uncharacteristically soft.
You nodded, snuggling closer to him. "Very," you murmured.
Hoshiumi made a satisfied noise, his arms tightening around you. One hand began to gently stroke your back, his touch soothing and reassuring.
"You know," he said, his voice full of conviction, "you're the most amazing person I know. And I know some pretty amazing people!"
You couldn't help but chuckle softly at his enthusiasm. Hoshiumi took this as encouragement and continued, punctuating his words with soft kisses.
"You're smart," he said, pressing a kiss to your forehead. "Way smarter than those idiots who let you go."
Another kiss, this time on your cheek. "You're kind. Remember how you helped that lost kid at the mall last week?"
A gentle peck on your nose. "You're hardworking. I've seen how dedicated you are."
Finally, a tender kiss on your lips. "And you're beautiful, inside and out."
Tears welled up in your eyes again, but this time they were tears of gratitude and love. "Korai..." you whispered, touched by his words.
"I'm not finished!" Hoshiumi declared, his eyes shining with determination. "You're also brave, and creative, and funny. Any company would be lucky to have you!"
He cupped your face in his hands, his gaze intense. "And most importantly, you're resilient. Just like me! We don't let setbacks keep us down. We use them as stepping stones to reach even greater heights!"
You couldn't help but smile at his passion. "Thank you, Korai. I feel so much better already."
Hoshiumi beamed, clearly pleased with himself. "Good! Because we're just getting started. Tomorrow, we're going to make the best resume ever. It'll be so amazing, it'll make my vertical jump look ordinary in comparison!"
You laughed outright at that, the sound mixing with Hoshiumi's own joyful laughter. As your giggles subsided, Hoshiumi pulled you close again, nuzzling your hair.
"I love you," he said softly. "And I believe in you. Never forget that."
"I love you too," you replied, feeling truly comforted for the first time since receiving the bad news. "Thank you for always being in my corner."
"Always!" Hoshiumi declared. "That's what the Little Giant does. I'll always lift you up, no matter how high we need to go!"

-₊˚⊹hoshiumi bf hcs

wc: 0.5k content warning: fluff, slight smut, aged up, post-time skip, my shitty writing, slight mention of praise, not proofread
note: this may not be the most accurate headcanon because I'm not super super familiar with hoshiumi's character but i did rewatch some clips of him and thought these would fit him !!
ꪆৎ ˚⋅ 🐦
-Hoshiumi, the type of boyfriend to get all snarky when you don't give him enough attention because he's gonna have to work for it. He just loves to surprise you and wow you, but if you're not giving him your full attention he's going to be a bit disappointed with a little spread pout on his face.
-Hoshiumi, the type of boyfriend to enjoy playing around with you. He'd probably like to have pretend competitions like who could eat the fastest when your meals are both served at the same time.
-Hoshiumi, the type of boyfriend to love all of your praises and sweet gestures to show your love for him. Especially with your words of affirmation that really keeps him in check because he wants to hear how you genuinely feel when it comes towards him as your boyfriend.
-Hoshiumi, the type of boyfriend to go crazy on the court to impress you even more when he sees you cheering from the stands. He wants you to know that he's the best man you've ever laid your eyes upon.
-Hoshiumi, the type of boyfriend to be all over you when you two are alone. He loves cuddling with you, having his arms locked tight around your torso never letting you go with his head in the crook of your neck. You two could be in this position at any moment, he'd just love having you in his arms while you even watch tik tok together on your phone.
-Hoshiumi, the type of boyfriend to definitely love talking about you. Even if he's in the locker room changing with the Schweiden Adlers , he could get a text notification from you and start giggling to himself in the corner saying stuff like OH MY GOD GUYS THEY JUST TEXTED ME BACK!! He loves just loves showing you off as his soulmate because he's proud of how your relationship has gotten so far.
-Hoshiumi, the type of boyfriend to absolutely just wow parents. His bright charismatic personality really lightens up the room when upon ever meeting with your parents. He loves talking with them, and they love talking with him and even consider Hoshiumi as if he were their own son because of his refreshing energy.
-Hoshiumi, the type of boyfriend to put all his volleyball stamina to use, making you feel all the sensations his cock could provide you whenever he impales your gummy walls over and over. He'd be vocal, telling you how good you feel while praising you for taking his hard thrusts so well.
-Hoshiumi, the type of boyfriend to go feral when you hop on it. He loves to admire your body as it moves up and down, watching your body with a layer of sheen sweat glisten with your tits jumping up and down with your movements. His hands would have this bruising grip that tightens on your hips to pull you back down whenever you rise up.
-Hoshiumi, the type of boyfriend to get you all cleaned up and tucked into bed with him in a tight snuggle. He'd love cuddling with you in bed and giving you gentle kisses, especially on the forehead with his little tired smile and drooping eyes gazing at you.

oomf...,, idk how to request but,, hoshiumi fic,, abt height difference... pleek 🥹? ty
say cheese!
character: korai hoshiumi
wc: 776
content: tall!reader; even in the unbearable summer heat, you and hoshiumi are picture-perfect. <3
a/n: hi anon!!! apologies for the late response (i’ve been vacationing before school starts back EW), and thank you for the request (i was at disney for a day so that was my inspiration)! i’ve also actually never written for hoshiumi, so i hope this is to your liking!
Disneyland lied when they said it was the happiest place on earth.
With the heat index at 41°C, you thought you were going to die from heat exhaustion. No matter how much water you drank the day prior, you felt yourself growing fainter by the minute.
“Koraiiiiii,” you whined as you walked through the park to the next ride, “can you buy me a water?”
Hoshiumi cut his eyes up at you, a playful scowl contorting his face. “This is why I told you to bring a water bottle!” He’d been so excited to come visit the park, nothing was going to stop this day—not even your slow death from the heat.
“I did, but could you get me a cold one? Please? I’m dying right now.” You put on your best puppy eyes, your lip jutting out for extra emphasis. He grimaced, trying to stay strong and look away from you.
He then sighed, knowing he lost this fight. With an overly dramatic eye roll, he walked to the nearest stand to buy you a water, grumbling, “I knew we were gonna end up spending $100 on water. I’d much rather buy a lightsaber, but noooo…” Ignoring him, you tried taking a picture of the castle, but your phone didn’t seem to do it justice. You frowned, unhappy with the pics, and quickly deleted all the ones you took.
Upon his return, you smiled at the two water bottles he held. “Thank youuu,” you sang happily with a chaste kiss to his cheek before taking a big swig from your new bottle.
“Yeah, yeah,” he said, his blush blending in with the slight sunburn on his cheeks, “Okay! Now it’s time to go ride—“
“Excuse me?”
You both turned to see a smiling cast member holding a camera, and Hoshiumi let out a quiet, exasperated sigh. He just wanted to ride some of the rides!!!
“I saw you taking a picture of the castle, would you two like a photo together in front of it?”
Your eyes lit up at the idea—you and Hoshiumi didn’t have many pictures together, so you wanted one that was special. Even though you were sweaty and overheated, you agreed, “I would love it!”
After the photographer placed you both in the best angle with the castle perfectly behind, she called, “Say cheese!” On cue, Hoshiumi flashed his winning, slightly crooked, smile that still made you giddy. His confident, yet cheeky, eyes gave him the boyish charm that you adore.
The photographer was pleased with the result, so she then added, “Now a silly one!”
Without thinking about it, you reached your arm over, resting it right on his head, as if using him as an arm rest. You looked to the camera with a shit-eating grin. An immediate half-annoyed, half-amused expression crossed Hoshiumi’s face as he met your eyes, before you both started laughing. You were the only one able to tease him about his height without any repercussions; he knew—coming from you—that it was all in good fun. His only scolds came halfheartedly when he joked, “So rude!” with a gentle push.
When the photographer showed you the photos, you noticed your eyes were closed in the silly picture when it was taken. Before you could ask for another, though, you looked at them one more time.
Upon closer examination, you noticed, unbeknownst to you at that time, how Hoshiumi looked up at you. In one specific picture, he had a cheeky smile that was full of laughter as he gazed up at you. He was taking in all your features, with the thin sheen of sweat that gave you a slight glow. Seeing the hearts in his eyes, you felt a blush creep on your face. You knew that look in his eye, the love radiating from the picture. He didn’t need to say the words, “I love you;” his eyes did it for him.
It was perfect timing—a picture captured of him falling in love with you once again.
“And how exactly can I get these pictures?”
—
Beaming at the new photos in your camera roll, your mind was completely distracted from the heat that prickled at your skin. Maybe Disneyland was the happiest place on Earth…
You were getting ready to post the pictures at the same time as you and Hoshiumi finally reached the line for your favorite ride—it would’ve been his first time riding it!
Until you heard the young attendant snicker and ask, “Ya sure you’re tall enough to ride this, kiddo?”
You just sighed when you heard Hoshiumi’s red-hot, “What did you just say?”
… It was gonna be a long day.

Short fuse
Matsukawa Issei, Tendo Satori and Hoshiumi Korai with an mc who’s lost their temper.
Anon

✮ - Matsukawa Issei
“Hey, you okay?” Matsukawa placed a hand on your shoulder only for it to immediately be shrugged off.
“I’m fine.”
He knew how stressed you’d been over exams and studies lately, and after the ‘assessment graded’ notification popped up on your phone as you were showing him something in a cafe earlier, he hadn’t even thought of asking after seeing your reaction to it. If anything, it didn’t seem as though he paid much attention to your workload anyways, rarely asking questions about what you’re doing. He’d instead ask you to tag along with him so much, to the point where you weren’t able to find time to study properly.
You knew he wasn’t trying to be annoying or rude, but still..
You removed your seatbelt as he entered the driveway before he was able to shift the gear to ‘Park’, preparing to immediately leave.
As he parked, you prepared to grab the handle and leave the car, when a hand suddenly reached out to yours, grasping it.
“Wait, please.” Remorse glazed his tone as he spoke.
You decided to give in for the time being, placing your belongings back in your lap as he shifted the car into ‘park’ before removing the keys from the ignition. You heard him shift in his seat, facing you as your head faced the window, arms crossed.
“Come on, it can’t be that interesting to look outside.” He snickered, attempting to break the ice.
Giving in, you turned albeit hesitant; you still refused to meet his eyes, facing the windshield instead.
He sighed, falling silent for a few moments.
“I saw it you know. The grade.” He said matter of factly. “I just didn’t think you’d want me to mention it. I thought it’d make you angry.”
Sometimes you wondered if he was dense, or just really dumb.
“And that’s why you waited the whole day to ask me about it?” You muttered, still refusing to meet his eyes.
He clicked his tongue, voice elevating in defence. “Look, I..” After a sigh, he resumed speaking, his tone much calmer than before.
“I’ve probably been a pain lately, so I know you’re probably really tired of it.” He reached out, placing his hand on your thigh, fingers twiddling with the fabric of your dress.
“..But I’m only trying to see a smile on your face. I had no idea you were so stressed.”
You turned your head back to the window, hiding your face as warmth crept up on your cheeks.
“…Then ask next time.” You said, the strain in your voice dropping.
“Will do.”
✮ - Tendo Satori
“You’re pretty harsh on them sometimes, Tendo.” You commented as he explained what he and his team did during practice today while the two of you walked home.
“Nope, they’re just lazy.” He shrugged, “I’m not gonna sweet talk them into practicing.” He stifled a giggle.
Raising an eyebrow, you began to feel irritated by his way of dealing with younger team members who weren’t as experienced or skilled as the regulars.
“You can’t expect them to know how to play like professionals instantly. It takes time.”
“Well I’m not their coach, am I?”
You had been friends with him for a while, having met eachother due to a seating arrangement in class. But after speaking to him for all this time, you began to notice his uncooperative attitude when it came to helping others on his team, especially when they weren’t as experienced as him.
You had been meaning to say something for a while, growing increasingly irritated each time he spoke ill of his inexperienced teammates.
“I don’t know how others can even stand to be on the same team with someone like you.” You spoke the words bluntly as the two of you stood at a stoplight. “You’re so discouraging. You’ve had help in the past, haven’t you?” Clenching the handle of your backpack tightly, your body tensed up in anticipation of his response.
“Uh, yeah from my coaches?” He replied, feigning offence. His tone hadn’t changed; still joking around and not being serious.
The stoplight clicked in the background, the remaining cars passing through. You weren’t about to deal with his attitude; he was already frustrating you enough as it was. His typical upbeat attitude wasn’t translating well into this situation, annoying you even more.
If that’s how he was going to be, then hanging out with him wasn’t something you’d continue doing.
After the remaining cars had passed through, the pedestrian light lit up. “Maybe you’ve chosen not to help them.” You took a few steps forward onto the crossing. “But you don’t have to be so insufferable about it.”
You didn’t look behind you, nor did you wonder whether he heard you or not. His steps didn’t follow, and your phone remained silent for the rest of the night.
Waking up the next day, it did cross your mind that perhaps you were a little.. harsh. And maybe it was pretty anticlimactic for you to be scolding him for essentially not being kind when you weren’t too kind to him either.
But how could you approach him about it after you absolutely thrashed him just the day before? The same thought rang throughout your head as you got ready for school, thinking about how awkward it was going to be sitting next to him. After all, it was the first real argument you’d had with him since becoming friends all those months ago.
Though, it looked like he’d also done some thinking himself. Opening the front door to leave, you found him leaning against the gate enclosing the front of your house. The closing of the door seemed to catch his attention as you heard his voice call out to you.
“Good morning!” You noticed that apart from his school bag, he was holding something else.
Walking up to the gate, you ran a few practice greetings in your head; ones that would lead up to an acknowledgment of your attitude towards him from the day before. Though before you could say anything, as soon as you closed the gate and began walking, he handed you a gift bag.
“These are for you.” He smiled. “I made them.”
Glancing inside, you made out what looked like a small box of sweets. You had no idea he was into baking. Slinging his bag over his shoulder, he dramatically sighed. “And yeah, I guess i’ll try to help that bunch.”
So many things ran through your head as you thought of something to say. Do you just come outright and say it, or do you ask about the gift first? Or maybe you take the ‘Oh, you didn’t have to do this..!’ approach in terms of the gift?
“You gonna say something?” He quipped.
Though, it seemed that in that moment, you forgot how he was as a person, not being the type to sweat the details.
“Sorry about yesterday Tendo.. I didn’t mean to-”
“No worries!” He immediately snapped, a laugh treading along with his words.
A small smile tugged at the corners of your lips as he spoke. With as much as you knew at this point, there was still tons that you didn’t know about him.
✮ - Hoshiumi Korai
“So tomorrow? At 5?” His voice rang throughout your room as you lay on your bed with your phone on speaker.
“Yeah.”
“Alright, but I cant go for too long. I have to wake up early for practice.”
Recently, he’d been really busy, unable to find time to even walk home with you from school as you used to. So it had become a habit for you both to keep up with each other through a phone call before heading to bed.
You knew he was busy with club and all, but was it really that hard for him to make time for you?
Saying goodbye, you slumped your head onto the pillow, wondering what you’d wear as you drifted asleep.
You awoke to your alarm with a headache, already putting you in a less than happy mood. Throughout the day, you lounged around the house and completed chores as you waited for the clock to hit 4:00pm - the time you’d get ready.
It really had been so long since you’d spoken to him in person other than saying ‘good morning’ and ‘see you later’ in class. Slipping into a dress, you recalled how he’d always look out for you, glaring at anyone who’d look at you with bad intentions. When on the sidewalk, he’d make sure to swap sides with you, putting himself closer to the road. He’d also never let you pay when you both ate out.
Sure, he hadn’t been there much recently, but that doesn’t mean he’d never been there.
As you applied a light blush onto your cheeks, your phone sounded with a notification. The time was 4:50, so you expected the notification to be a message from him letting you know he was waiting outside for you. Instead of checking your phone immediately, you peeked outside your window, looking around for where he’d be standing, but he wasn’t there. Confused, you checked the notification on your phone.
“Sorry, I can’t make it today. Something came up.”
Was he serious? A text? and not even a call? And why did he wait until now to tell you? Multiple questions ran through your head as you entered your phone password, immediately calling him.
“Hello-”
“Seriously Hoshiumi? Are you kidding me?” You interrupted. You had waited so long, never mentioning anything to him because you knew how busy he was. But this time was different.
“Hey hey wait, let me tell you what-!”
“No! You do this every time! You’re so busy that you can’t even see me for an hour? So busy that you had to cancel ten minutes before we were supposed to meet up?!”
The other end of the line fell silent. It was out of character him to not respond when the two of you had a falling out. He was as much as a hothead as you were, so this silence wasn’t like him.
“Whatever. Don’t even bother rescheduling it. Bye.”
Lifting the phone off your ear, you could hear his voice as he attempted to retain your attention. But it was too late, seeing as you’d ended the call and thrown your phone onto your bed. You felt so stupid, dressed up and wearing makeup for nothing. You headed into the living room and dropped onto the couch with a sigh. Still dressed and now lying down, your body shook with every sob, lulling you asleep.
Hours later, you awoke to firm knocking on the door. Your family had been out for a few hours visiting some relatives so you figured they had returned. As you walked to the door, you caught a glimpse of the time on the microwave; 11:37pm. That whole ordeal had really knocked you out.
Twisting the doorknob, the person on the other side wasn’t your Dad, nor your Mom, but was instead Hoshiumi. He was dressed lightly, panting, his skin glistening with sweat. Your eyes widened for a moment, not having seen him this closely for a long time. Just as you were about to say something, the events that unfolded hours ago replayed through your head, prompting you to attempt to slide the door back closed.
Though before you were able to, he placed his foot in the doorway.
“Wait.” His voice was steady; serious. He grabbed the door, opening it wide.
You weren’t able to meet his gaze. Part of you was still mad, but the other part knew there was definitely another way you could’ve dealt with it.
He began to explain what happened, why he couldn’t call to tell you, and why he was dressed so lightly. He’d left home immediately once he had finished what had came up, running to your house instead of taking public transport. Your home wasn’t too far from his, but it’d take almost twenty minutes in walking distance.
You remained silent the entire time, eyes welling up with tears as you came to terms with your attitude towards this entire situation.
He tilted his head, squinting his eyes at you. “Are you crying?”
You turned your face in response, attempting to hide the tears which were already streaming down your cheeks. He clicked his tongue, sighing as he wrapped his arms tightly around you.
“Don’t cry anymore. I’m here now, aren’t I?” His tone was gentler than before, something you didn’t expect. One hand held the back of your head as the other wrapped tightly around your back.
You nodded, locking your arms around him in an embrace.

could I pleeease have a medium affogato with Hoshiumi? for here! you’re amazing!
Morning Routine
request: fluffy morning routine with husband Hoshiumi
Every morning without fail you would feel your husband’s warm lips on your shoulder before his jog. Taking care not to wake you, he’d get dressed in the bathroom and then sneak out but you get up anyway because there is no point in staying in bed when the other side is empty.
And so you get started on your day, making a good breakfast for when he returns (ready to devour the entire contents of your fridge).
The weekends are Korai’s favorites because he can usually persuade you to join him in the shower for a bit after his run.
Feeling refreshed and happy you’d then change into comfortable home clothes and have breakfast together. After moving into your new home you had started a little tradition of (attempting) doing a crossword puzzle together and your husband took great pleasure in it - for about 6 minutes and then just tried to distract you by giving nonsensical answers or kissing you every few seconds until you pushed the paper aside to give him attention.
Throughout the week, especially the morning after a match, he’d be a lot more sluggish. Korai always had a day off after a match and so technically could sleep in, but he woke up when he wanted to cuddle with your perfectly squishable form and following some tapping around on the mattress realized your side was cold. Groaning with disappointment he’d shuffle into the bathroom to find you brushing your teeth or combing your hair and rest his chin sleepily on your shoulder, wrapping his arms around you from behind. You’d take a second to run your fingers through his wild bed head and watch with confused amusement how he, still half asleep, began to apply shaving cream all over his face like a cleanser a moment later.
You’d tuck your toothbrush into the corner of your mouth and take it upon yourself to hold him steady with one hand while the other worked on removing the stubble. Then with a warm washcloth you wiped off the rest of the shaving cream. When you gave him a minty fresh kiss he finally woke up.
a/n: thank you for the request and your kind words! Please enjoy 🌟

WE'D BE A HIT ! ── ♡ KOURAI HOSHIUMI
In which you are attacked with a volleyball and find yourself strangely endeared to the culprit.
It felt appropriate that on the day you first met Kourai Hoshiumi, it was through a volleyball.
You drop the papers nestled in the crook of your hands when you catch sight of a flash of yellow and blue. Your hands reach out before your brain catches up to events, attempting to block whatever was hurtling in your direction. You think someone yelled, but you aren’t sure because, in the next moment you are on the ground, tucking your throbbing hands to your stomach. The first person to run towards you is a boy with hair that reminds you of a pelican’s feathers. His eyes are wide and frantic, his eyebrows are pushed down, and he looks livid.
“You idiot!” These were the first words he said to you. While you recall them now fondly, back then you were less than pleased. “You aren’t supposed to try and catch the ball!”
His obvious worry betrays his harsh wording as he kneels to examine the damage done. He is pulled away by a strong hand on his shoulder, a tall and wavy-haired boy shaking his head as he says something to his teammate that only comes out garbled to your ears. The pain is unbearable and tears prick your eyes. Other players begin to circle you and thankfully an ambulance arrives and you are escorted out.
It turns out you fractured most of your fingers. At least your nose wasn’t broken, your mother commented wryly.
When you arrive at school a week later with casts on both hands, you are met with sympathy and offers by friends and classmates to help carry your books. During the afternoon, a girl you sat behind in Mathematics leans back on her seat mid-lecture and asks if you knew of Kourai Hoshiumi.
“Huh?” You answer absentmindedly and she rolls her shoulders breezily. She fills you in that for the past few days, this mysterious boy has been hounding all the first years asking about you. There is a pit in your stomach because you haven’t heard of that name before and if he’s searching for you this determinedly, you don’t believe it’s for any good reason.
By lunchtime, the door to the classroom opens and you nearly spill your juice box when you spy a familiar head of platinum hair. It is the rude boy from the gymnasium. When his eyes land on you with the precision of a hawk, you consider running. You aren’t given time to contemplate your options when he bounds over to you in swift, large steps that leave several heads turning at his entrance. You aren’t sure what you expected from him, but it catches you by surprise when he asks.
“Are your fingers gonna be okay?” He points his chin towards them, as if you didn’t know what part of your body your hands were. You nod slowly, still eyeing him apprehensively. If you weren’t in a cast, you would have fiddled with the sleeves of your sweater to distract you from his acute gaze. Your classmates, upon realising there is no confrontation, turn their attention away aside from the occasional glance. The students of Kamomedai High are especially hungry for gossip, so you wish he’d just wrap up what you assume is a check-in and be on his way.
That’s when you hear the sound of ruffling from beside him, but your curiosity is short-lived when he pulls out a small gift bag and places it on your desk. Oh, you think guiltily.
“I’m Kourai Hoshiumi,” He treats his introduction as a full-stop to your interaction, turning on his heel and walking out of the classroom without letting you get a word in. You peer into the bag, finding an assortment of snacks inside along with a store-bought get-well-soon card. When you open it, standard wishes of speedy recovery are pre-printed on a white background. However, underneath the small paragraph, there is a scribbled penmanship.
I’m sorry.
You begin to think Hoshiumi isn’t too bad.
By the end of the second semester, your casts were off and you were back in the gymnasium that started it all. When Coach Murphey announces your presence, the gym erupts into chaos. Even when you take a sheepish step back, your eyes naturally meet a certain Hoshiumi and there is something oddly pleasing about rendering such a loud personality into silent shock.
“Good one, idiot!” A towering boy next to him laughs tauntingly, and you can already see the imaginary feathers of Hoshiumi ruffling, “You slammed a volleyball into the face of our future manager!”
It’s enough to set him off, as the shorter boy begins barking a range of insults to his teammate. The captain slams his hand to his forehead so hard, you swore the force of it could leave a dent. Your lips twitch, amused. From the open windows, sunlight catches the side of Hoshiumi’s face, illuminating his features scrunched up in frustration. You can’t help but think the white-haired boy isn’t bad-looking either, especially when his eyes meet yours and an embarrassed flush coats his cheeks.

Being Kamomedai’s Manager
Korai Hoshiumi’s Crush
Korai Hoshiumi featuring Kamomedai x GN! reader
Warnings: teasing (YN stands up for themselves)
AN: Happy 28th Birthday to my timeskip husband 😍
Honestly this boy 🙄
He’s so cocky and so self conscious at the same time
Like I totally feel like he’d tease someone that he liked
For instance, you are a second year like Korai
You are friends with Hirugami and Hakuba but for some reason, Korai just kind of ignores you
And when he’s not ignoring you, he’s usually nit-picking or saying some backhanded comment
For instance, if you have a crumb of food on your face after a meal, he will LOUDLY announce it to the entire cafeteria
You, of course, naturally try to ignore him
But Korai Hoshiumi is not a man to be ignored!
“YN why won’t you talk to me? Is it because I’m short?” Korai will probe
You 👉🏻😐 no-
“Then I honestly have no idea why you aren’t talking to me!” He cries
You 👉🏻👁️👄👁️
“You really have no idea why YN wouldn’t talk to you?” Hirugami asks, honestly stunned by how dumb the winged spiker really is
Korai 👉🏻🤔 no clue 🤷🏼♂️
“Korai you literally make my life miserable,” you say
Korai 👉🏻😱
You just roll your eyes and walk away because Yn does not have time for annoying boys
Korai just doesn’t understand tho but thankfully Hirugami is there to explain
“You can’t just bully people you like Korai, that’s rude and immature,” He says
“Ok well then what do you suggest I do?”
“Oh idk tell Yn you like them?” Hakuba chimes in
Korai 👉🏻😳 I can’t do that!
Literally hopeless istg-
Korai does take the hint a little and tries to be nicer
But that’s just suspicious 🤨
So you continue to just ignore him because obviously nothing good will come of this
Hirugami and Hakuba watch your struggles from the sideline, not fully understanding how Korai could legit keep messing this up
As you continue to ignore our seagull bby, he becomes depressed
And a depressed seagull is not a good seagull
“Nationals is coming up you guys we need to get him out of this funk!” The captain says
Hirugami and Hakuba look at each other and then at a depressed, bokuto knock off Korai face planted on the floor
Hirugami and Hakuba 👉🏻 we got this
They find you and start to explain what’s been going on
“YN why do you think Korai was teasing you in the first place?” Hirugami asks
You 👉🏻🤨 because he’s a jerk?
Hirugami 👉🏻🙄
“No Yn! Remember when you were little, what did boys do when they liked someone?”
“Oh they teased them! Wait- WHAT?!!?” You freak out, “KORAI LIKES ME!”
Of course you scream this in a totally full hallway of high schoolers
Hakuba and Hirugami 👉🏻🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
“Why wouldn’t he just tell me then? I thought he hated me!” You cry
“Korai’s got a literal volleyball for a brain Yn come on!” Hakuba responds
You 👉🏻 point taken 😐
“Actually I kind of have a crush on him too,” you confess
That’s when an awesome idea fills Hirugami and Hakuba’s mind
At nationals, Korai is still our depressed little seagull, moping around
“Hey korai!” You shout, running up to him
He turns to you and freezes
Because you are wearing his extra jersey
That Hakuba totally stole from his locker but that’s not the point
Korai 👉🏻👁️👄👁️ YN-
“I like you Korai and I just wanted to come cheer you on! And to tell you that if you ever tease me again I’ll make sure you shrink instead of grow,” you smile
Korai 👉🏻 *completely ignoring threat* you like me? 👁️👄👁️
You just smile and roll you eyes before kissing his cheek
“I’ll see you later!” You say, running through the crowd to get to your seat
Korai is too stunned to speak
Hirugami and Hakuba watched the entire thing
Suddenly Korai shouts, “ALL RIGHT!” while doing a fist air punch
“Yeah I don’t think we’ll have to worry about nationals,” Hirugami says

one chance

wc: 1.6k content warning: highschool, hoshiumi x reader, confession, fluff, not proofread
୭ ˚. ᵎᵎ.
The sound of the school bell ringing, beginning your first week back after winter break. The crisp and chill air grazing the surface of your skin as you came late to class due to traffic.
Sliding open the classroom door, out of breath, scanning your classroom looking back at the familiar faces. You make your way step by step and plop down into your seat, fully blown out from attempting to make it to class on time.
“Hey, you’re like.. so late y’know that?” a voice whispering out to you, looking up it was your class partner and somewhat close friend, Hoshiumi Korai.
When the year first started, you knew absolutely nothing about this white headed guy. It was coincidence that your teacher assigned you guys seats right next to each other because the chemistry you guys had was amazing!
Sitting in the back made it even worse. You two just couldn’t stop giggling and laughing while you paid little to no attention to the lessons. Hoshiumi was just so funny as a person, combined with you, you guys were the disruptive kids in class alright. If the teacher ever caught you guys, he’d storm over and smack the wood out of your table.
Of course you didn’t know him outside of your classroom though. You never knew he was on the boys volleyball team, nevertheless popular with the students at school because of his high status in the sports department. All you saw was a cute and silly.. Maybe just a tad bit short, but a great guy.
“What makes you think I don’t know Hoshiumi,” rolling your eyes at him with a devious smile before reaching towards your backpack to take out your notebook and pen.
As class went by, you’re jotting down his notes while trying to multitask and understand the lesson your teacher’s currently teaching. Well.. more like relying on Hoshiumi’s notes to get all caught up first.
You didn’t notice but, you did feel his eyes burn into your scalp. You couldn't tell if it’s because he’s a bit annoyed that you’re copying his whole journal at this point, or if it’s because he’s just waiting to write down more of the notes.
“What does this say?” keeping your voice at a low level, tilting your head towards him. His expression jolted, as if he just got out of a trance with a slight trail of pink left on his cheeks.
“Oh.. uh. It says that–” before he could finish his words, the bell rang for lunch.
Sighing, you close your notebook and put it away. You’re gonna see him after lunch anyway, there’s a chance you could still ask for notes.
“Sorry! Lunch break, gonna meet up with my friends. See you in a bit!” Sending him off with a wave before dashing out of the classroom to go see your friends.
Lunch break goes by quick when you’re out with your friends. Speaking of friends.. Hoshiumi was also with his own old buddy who’s also on Kamomedai’s volleyball team. Hirugami Sachiro, he’s also a very excellent player who’s able to make Hoshiumi shine brighter. Overall, they’ve been long time best friends as they know each other best.
“Hirugami.. Do you think she knows?” Hoshiumi asks, biting down on his lower lip while he fiddles with his fingers.
“Know what?” Hirugami’s a bit concerned. He knows who you are, but what type of question was he asking him this time…
Hoshiumi’s never been the type to be so anxious, he’s typically calm and collected with a bit of ethusiasm. Not to mention, he’s never told Hirugami that he has had this developing liking towards you that makes his heart race and his palms sweaty by just sitting next to you in class.
“That like… she likes me back” Hoshiumi mutters out under his breath, a bit humiliated that he has to come out of his shell to talk about his love interest. Hirgumi’s gagged, his mouth is wide open in shock.
“Wait. You like her? As in like like??” Leaning in, he can feel the heat and flushness radiating off of Hoshiumi’s face which had now became a flushed pink.
“Yeah I’ll admit.. I do. And I want to tell to her” his murky light eyes shifting in nervousness.
Hirugami sits down next to him, placing a hand on his back to calm him down.
“When do you plan to confess?” doting eyes assuring him that it’ll be okay.
“Um.. well I haven’t really thought about that but, maybe.. By the end of this week,” looking up to search for an answer.
So many thoughts and imaginative scenarios ran through Hoshiumi’s mind trying to think of the situation that’d be best to tell you his feelings. Hirugami is surprised how sudden Hoshiumi wants to tell you about his growing liking towards you. Especially it being right after winter break, nevertheless in the middle of the school year.
“I think you should. Since you know, we’re gonna have to start practicing for volleyball now that spring is coming. If things go wrong, then we’ll be busy playing our hearts out trying to reach nationals. If things go well, then you got yourself two things you love the most” Hirugami’s words struck his mind.
Taking in Hirugami’s words, he agrees. He is right. Overall, this was a one time chance. Hoshiumi would rather know what would happen than not confess at all. There, his heart was set. At the end of the week, after school, was when he’d profess his love to you.
The day Friday rolls by, he can’t help but act stiff and nonchalant in class. He’s making you think that either something’s wrong or that he’s been constipated all day.
When the last school bell of the day rang with the warm sun setting through the windows as the crisp wind blew by. Everyone’s packing up and making their way out of the classroom. One by one, the room started to empty while you both took your time cramming up your backpacks with your school supplies.
“Hey, can you stay back with me for a bit?” Hoshiumi’s eyes making contact with yours, a gentle smile spread on his face while he placed his bag on his desk.
“Uh.. sure! Just give me a moment to finish packing” accepting his subtle advances.
Stalling for time, waiting for the classroom to just be you and him. He’s watching you load up your bag with your notebooks and pencils, wishing you’d go slower while his heart feels like it’s sinking in anxiety. He’s zoning out, wondering what could go wrong before you snapped him back to reality.
“So- what was it you wanted me to stay back for?” wrapping the backpack strap around your shoulder. Staring at him with a content expression whilst adjusting the bands to your comfort.
“Oh, well. I know we kinda met this school year but..” looking down with his white lashes fluttering at the floor.
“I think that you’re really funny, pretty, and overall just a great person. And that I may or may not.. Have a crush on you..” stretching out his words while swallowing hard.
His eccentric face has gone from stern to soft and gushy, followed with blush dusted upon his face. He’s pink and shy, fiddling with his fingers once more as he waited for any sort of verbal reaction from you.
Looking up through his snow white lashes, he’s gazing at your facial expressions. You can’t help but be stoked to know that your everyday class partner whom you’ve met by chance, developed a liking towards you. The daily mere exposure that your teacher’s assigned seating had led up to this moment.
“I don’t know what to say..” whispering out with a dull look on your face, eyes still wide in amazement.
“You don’t have to like me back that way, um.. Look. I just really feel like I had to tell you that I like you–” stopping him in his tracks when he looked at you once more.
This time, with the corners of your mouth curling up in delight. Hoshiumi was quick to judge with your one reaction before realizing you felt the same.
“No it’s not like that! ..I like you too Hoshiumi.” Clasping your hands on his, eyes filled with joy knowing that you both felt the same way with each other.
Bringing you in for a hug, you can feel his jaw move up and down with the words “really?” nodding in response before pulling back. Face to face, you can’t help but now be a bit timid and delighted with what just happened.
“Soo.. what are we now?” breaking the tension for a brief moment to confirm your relationship status. A little bit fearful to see what he’d say since he just confessed his love for you.
“Oh I don’t know.. A couple?” reverting back to his usual self, he roars out loud and playfully like he always does in class. His infectious emotions spreading over to you.
Hoshiumi’s reaching his hand towards you, gesturing you to hold his hand as you accept his offer. You’re swinging your hands together in joy as you walk out of the classroom. Hirugami’s watching from the sliver of his class door while you two pass by his class, a faint smile appearing, ready to hear about Hoshiumi’s news next Monday.
Walking you home safe, Hoshiumi’s more than just happy with the choice he made despite the chances of you liking him back being slim. His light eyes couldn’t stop watching you talk and laugh with him, smiling the whole time till he dropped you off.

BOKUTO.ೃ࿔* who desperately wants you to think he’s cool. He’ll do everything in his power to impress you—oh, your bag is too heavy? No problem! Bo’s got it! aaaand he can carry Akaashi’s bag too! See how strong he is? Isn’t he the coolest?! Wait—hold on, you really think so?
KUROO.ೃ࿔* who loves when you manhandle him. Tug him by his tie, and honey he’s at your mercy. Slide your hands along his neck with that sly smile of yours, and you’ll have him utterly undone. He just has to lean in with a lopsided smirk, hand cupping your jaw, being completely enchanted by you.
TSUKKI.ೃ࿔* who keeps you from wandering aimlessly like a lost puppy. You always ‘turn your brain off’, according to Kei. he’ll firmly place his hand on the top of your head and steer you in the right direction, rolling his eyes and teasing about how you’d be completely and utterly lost without him.
SUNARIN.ೃ࿔* who always, ALWAYS, has to have his hands on you. If you are with in reach he will rest his hands on your hips and tug you against him. If you’re walking around then your fingers will be interlocked. He also likes to put his hand in your back pocket in your jeans
IWAIZUMI.ೃ࿔* who gets genuinely gets flustered every time you compliment him. It could be anything small, like a simple ‘That’s a good color on you’ has him bashfully muttering a small ‘thanks,’ with his cheeks tinged pink. He hates how easily you turn him into a mess—especially when you giggle in realization and lean in to kiss him— Oh he just can’t take it!!
AKAASHI.ೃ࿔* who always walks you to and from your destination, no matter the time, place, or weather. Any time spent with you is spent well. He needs to make sure you get to your destination safely of course! He waits until he absolutely cannot see you anymore before he starts his journey back.
ATSUMU.ೃ࿔* who gives the BEST hugs. You always feel so safe and so loved when his arms are wrapped firmly around your waist. His head tucks into your neck as if he never wants to let go. And when he’s feeling all soft, he’ll cradle your cheek in his hand, his thumb brushing tenderly across your skin as he gazes at you like you hung the stars. Though, that’s just ‘Tsumu’s normal expression when you’re around.
KAGEYAMA.ೃ࿔* who’s always looking for you, even if you’re not there. It’s just a habit of his, probably because his mind is constantly plagued of your smiling face 24/7. The moment he spots you, he’s making a beeline, linking his pinky with yours whispering ‘What took you so long?’.
USHIWAKA.ೃ࿔* who’s the perfect gentleman. He pulls out your chair, walks on the side closest to the road, and never shows up empty-handed, always bringing you a bouquet of roses on every Sunday with a respectful kiss on the hand. Life with ‘Toshi is as easy as breathing.
OIKAWA.ೃ࿔* who can’t help but be ridiculously cheesy, really he can’t! Not when you’re his darling sugarplum and one and only till the end of forever! Reject his dramatic love proclamations? Oh, absolutely not! That’s just who he is, and you’ll have to endure it, sweetheart.
HINATA.ೃ࿔* who always offers piggyback rides when your feet hurt. Don’t underestimate his little body!—he can lift you with ease, carrying you down the street like it’s nothing. Sho’ would insist you get on his back regardless if your feet hurt or not—can you really blame him? Who wouldn’t want a cutie hanging onto them!
KENMA.ೃ࿔* who silently watches you in admiration when you put your makeup on. Sitting on the toilet lid, he holds your makeup bag and hands you your lip gloss before you even ask. He shyly looks away with his cheeks warm and lips pursed together when you ask ‘how do I look?’.
OSAMU.ೃ࿔* who can’t help the loopy grin on his face when you do a little twirl, showing off your new outfit. He could care less about shopping, truly, he hates it. But if it means seeing you all dolled up and happy, he doesn’t mind it one bit.
SAKUSA.ೃ࿔* who pulls you close to him when you are in public spaces. He takes your hands and squirts his Hello Kitty hand sanitizer (The one you got him) into your hands before rubbing his own. Scathingly glares at the man who accidentally bumped into you. He absolutely cannot let you have unwanted contact with strangers! no yucky germs allowed on his baby.
YAMAGUCHI.ೃ࿔* who always firmly holds your hand in crowds. Out in public he’ll hold your hand regardless, but when everyone is packed together his anxiety skyrockets. He’s always nervous of you two being separated in the crowd. He takes the lead to guide you both out of the mingled mess of people, and when it’s over, please give him a forehead kiss—he’s earned it.
TENDOU.ೃ࿔* who takes Shounen Saturdays very seriously. You don’t get to skip it! Not when it’s a sacred tradition of binge-watching both of your favorite shows with sugary snacks! You two are all bundled together on the couch and gasping and giggling at the TV. He refuses to let you watch the next episode without him, Will curse your whole bloodline if you do (affectionate).
HOSHIUMI.ೃ࿔* who might just be the worst person to play board games with. When he’s winning, he’s full of smug trash talk, loudly boasting about his ‘inevitable victory’, but the second he starts losing? ‘This game is rigged!’ ‘you cheated!,’ or ‘this is bullshit!’. It’s even worse better when there’s a bet involved—he’ll do anything to avoid letting you win. That’s how you get him to help you clean most the time hehe.
LEV.ೃ࿔* who clings to you, always. You are concerned for his neck and back for always resting around you in uncomfortable positions, but he never seems to complain. Standing up Lev has his arms around you and head smushed against yours, laying down his long legs wrap around your own and he burrows himself in your warmth. If Lev could have it his way, he would never stop touching you.
AONE.ೃ࿔* who’s a certified purse carrier. you don’t make him— of course not! He insists actually. He could care less about being seen with a hot pink decorated purse slung on his arm, it’s quite the sight. This also goes for shopping of course, Nobu’ just trails behind with arms full of whatever you managed to snag on 50% off.
uhu I wrote some for kyotani+suga+goshiki+etc but I didn’t like them sob sob
lemme know whatcha think! (And if I should do pt2 lolz)
