The blooms on my 𝘏𝘰𝘺𝘢 𝘱𝘶𝘣𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘺𝘹 started opening tonight! This is the first 𝘏𝘰𝘺𝘢 I've had flower, and I'm so excited to be able to witness this event in person! The blossoms aren't the only part of this plant that are beautiful. The leaves are deep green in coloration, and just like my specimen, are often covered in silver streaks. Hoya Repotting!

Hi I’m Hani and I’m addicted hoyasʕ•ᴥ•ʔ

I recently got this Hoya pubicalyx and noticed that the dirt it was potted up in wasn’t drying out as quickly as this plant needs it to. So today I decided to shake off the old dirt and give it some better draining soil.

As I suspected, the dirt was mostly peat based. Instead of peat, I used regular potting soil and a bunch of perlite to replant this Hoya in.

Overall, I think it will be much happier in its new soil. I didn’t want to replant it in a different pot cause I know Hoya like to be a bit more root bound, so it will stay in its nursery pot for awhile.

The Hoya Publicalyx is a vining plant with deep green leaves that love to climb and trail. The leaves are unique because of the silvery markings scattered across each individual leaf.  Depending on how much light the #HoyaPubicalyx receives, the stems can take on shades of purple or pink. My wild child #hoyapubicalyx on this snowy #earthday 🌍 All attempts 'guide' this one to grow the way I want has been futile. Since the arrival of Spring, my hoya pubicalyx has been tendriling like craaa-zy. The vines circle round and around, till it finds something to climb on. For now, it has taken a liking to my desk lamp. My Hoya pubicalyx is in full bloom now 🌸! (Check back a few posts to see it in bud- also beautiful) Someone the other day asked if it smelled good- it isn't anything to write home about. The smell is okay but it doesn't matter as it is gorgeous! (If it smelled putrid, that would be a different story, of course...) When these flowers fall off, I will show you what is left. If you have a hoya blooming, when it is done, do NOT cut the bloom off. That is where it will bloom again. Do you have a hoya blooming? 🌸 Or a hoya at all? Found this Hoya pubicalyx blooming 🌸 in my sun room today. It only has one flower open right now, but soon they will all be open. I've been working a lot these last few days in my sunroom (I call it the greenhouse 🌿) and it needs a lot of attention.There are dead plants and leaves, dirt, and I found a few bugs...😬🐜🕷. I am moving things around, repotting, and up-potting. Little Henry 🐈 has been helping- there are a couple of plants that need new pots as he knocked them over and they broke 🙁. It doesn't matter....I'm happy he is keeping me company 💚.
