***TWST JP news + anniversary spoilers below the cut!***

The stream starts with Ace, Deuce, Jack, Ruggie, and Sebek's VAs replying to a bunch of quiz questions. I think Ace or Deuce responds with "810" when asked how many items there are on the Heartslabyul lounge's coffee table. Sebek's VA also has a hilarious answer when asked how many Draconians (wakasama fans) there are, he pulls out some super absurdly high number with tons of zeros in it.

There is then a Master Chef/Culinary Crucibles-type section where the VAs decorate their own cake for TWST's anniversary. It’s a team effort! Ace and Deuce put on the cream, Sebek added cookies on top, and Jack and Ruggie did the final decorations. It ended up looking pretty cute ^^ (Ace's VA is the one that added all the whipped cream peaks; it was mostly thanks to Ruggie's VA that the cake still looked aesthetically pleasing at the end.)

For anniversary, there will be a series of free items given out if you log in during the event period (11th to 25th), which includes THREE 10-pull keys (released on the 11th, 15th, and 18th, respectively). You can receive up to 12 days' worth of freebies. There will be an anniversary banner as per usual; you can earn tokens by pulling on this and then trade them in for a SR magical key (50 tokens) and/or past event-limited SSRs (150 tokens), including past years' birthday cards (100 tokens). There will be a new "Event Recollection" feature which allows you to experience events that you may have missed getting the initial chance to play through yourself.

Mr. S's Mystery Shop will sell items from past events such as limited Groovy materials and spell upgrade materials. This is called the "Memory Shop".

You will be able to mark (multiple) parts of the story as your "favorite". This will be indicated with a pink heart icon.

Battles will have a new feature which allows you to save team compositions for them. Up to 25 compositions may be saved at a time. You can also pin your supports, so you no longer have to scroll to find a specific friend's character to borrow.

There will be 3 new item gachas added to the "Item Lotto" of the shop (for Crewel, Vargas, and Trein). Previously, there was only Sam's. You use a new type of medal (obtained by taking classes) to roll on the teachers' lottos, and can pull items related to what you'd typically earn in each of their classes.

Crewel's gacha may provide an herbal tea which can be used to boost Buddy Levels, including those for characters that are otherwise unable to take Alchemy classes. That means Crowley, Rollo, etc. are fair game. (Yes, you can force feed them tea to obtain FRIENDSHIP✨) The tea may also drop during Special Lessons or Alchemy class.

We finally get magical key conversion! On the summoning screen, you can turn 10 single pull keys into one 10-pull key (which guarantees at least 1 SR; single keys do not have this benefit).

The Guest Room will receive a second floor to decorate. This will be unlocked once you reach a Guest Room rank of 31.

The Guest Room rank cap will be increased from 30 to 40. Additionally, all properties of floor 1 appears to carry over to floor 2. This means the same comfort level and attributes will be present across both.

New BGMs will be added to Mr. S's Mystery Shop. There will also be new voice lines added to Alchemy, Flying, and the outfit selection screen. The official TWST soundtrack will be released on the 29th of May, though preorders are tentatively open now. It is 140+ tracks (149, to be exact!) across 4 discs and goes for 4620 yen (inclusive of tax; without tax the soundtrack is 4200 yen). Japanese retailers are offering different dorms' A5 sized holographic sticker sheets as bonuses for preordering.

a lot of people are using nex as a queer talking point without even mentioning they were choctaw and 2S. without even mentioning that this - harassment, assault, murder, disappearances, lies/indifference/denial about the circumstances of our death - is typical of the violence we face. not once have i seen non-native people address that we, as natives, face this same treatment within queer communities. that queer institutions use our land while declining to offer native-inclusive and -sensitive care. we suffer at the hands of white lgbt+ people just as much as we do at the hands of people outside the community.

nex is not your NB pariah. nex was a 2S, NB, choctaw child. thousands of native people go missing and are killed and no one cares. many are two-spirit. many are LGBTQIA+. many are "queer" in ways only defined and recognised by our closed cultures, that you may never hear of and may never understand.

if you are going to flock to nex, you are not going to take them from us post-mortem. they were choctaw. they were native. their tribal affiliation has already been falsely reported on. if you are talking about nex, you will talk about how unwelcoming and dangerous your communities are for us, too. you will talk about how natives face this violence constantly, everywhere. you will not remove nex from the context of them being choctaw, ever - or you won't say their name at all.

Do you ever think about how Fakir, after him and Ahiru finally broke everything that kept the town of Goldkröne in the ghostly hands of its writer, after they finally have some air of peace over the town finally being able to live in its intended early 2000s environment, that Fakir still feels at times like it's not real and that for a while he fears that if he closes his eyes it'll be back in Drosselmeyer's control. Like it just doesn't feel real to him during that first year of calm, until he feels the dull pain on his recovering hand injury and Ahiru who follows him without a pendant anywhere to be found.

He doesn't feel it's real, the calm finality of this town, but he makes sure to feel the scar on his hand. And he makes sure to hold the little duck and realize that she is who she has always been. Him and the town are finally living peacefully.

I need to write this out because this exact thought has been plaguing my mind for like a week straight.

Falling in love, or more like, what’s really hitting Ume right in the chest is the fact that he sees everybody and he thinks he’s seen by them as well but the thing is - it takes one to know one.

It has always felt like people with difficult pasts are quicker to look at a person and see what’s been shattered beneath the surface. Not in a sense of, you’re less or damaged because of it, but cracks in a mirror create more complicated patterns of light. It isn’t a simple reflection anymore, you have to look more carefully to see the whole picture. Really train your eyes.

That’s what Ume has been doing all those years - spend his time studying people and seeing them, with all their struggles and why they come to Furin the way they are. He does it naturally, born out of a sense of relation to the isolation and because he knows what it’s like to feel utterly alone in despair. That’s nothing new once you get to know him - he treats everyone with kindness and an ever knowing stare.

What he didn’t expected when he looked at you is someone looking right back at him. A care taker of others, the gift and burden of seeing people so naturally to you, that it often overrides your sense of self, makes you act and burn out in the need to help others before you can even realize it.

It’s like a mirror seeing a mirror for the first time, reflections endless and depth unlimited. It startles him, the way you seem to look right into him, with that expression he’s given so many others before but really hasn’t received back. Like two people finally on the same emotional playing field, recognizing how deep the other one feels.

It’s about suddenly not feeling so alone in the way your brain runs, sees so much, feels so much and takes care of it all. Someone who understands. An equal, eyes locked and seeing one another plain as day.

You can tell that in that moment his mind goes “Ah, so you’re like that too.”

I drew Howl the other day and had to make a Sophie to match. This is before her moving castle and old lady days if you couldn’t already tell by the dreaded grey dress.

redesign werewolf sketches because dear GOD i have to get better at drawing primates.

werewolves are a type of large lemur convergent in bodyplan to baboons and wolves, specialized in running down larger prey and killing it as a team, especially since the other giant lemurs never went extinct in their universe.

they're especially fast and nimble on all four legs, but are much clumsier with bipedal movement, usually reserving it for brief periods where they have to carry or manipulate something. their hands are less dexterous and stiffer than human hands, but still more dexterous than the comparative paws of wolves, and perfectly capable of using their own tools.

they, like other lemurs, also have grooming claws on their index fingers, grooming combs for their lower incisors, and grooming bristles on the ends of their tongues. this is used for their manes and tails, because while they have less fur than their cousins, the fur they do have serves a protective and social rule. their manes have thick fur with loose skin beneath to protect the neck during intraspecific combat, as the common way that werewolves kill their prey is grasping the neck with their large canines and crushing the windpipe.

werewolves are matriarchal, with females inheriting their social standing from their mothers, while males are either demoted or cast out from their troop entirely when they come of age. bachelor troops of males are not uncommon, though they cycle through their members quickly, as they find new troops to call their own, and have less social power compared to more traditional troops.
