Why is animal crossing seen as an escapism?
In one of our readings for the week “Animal Crossing Isn’t Escapist; It’s Political” written by Ian Bogoost speaks on the difference that Animal Crossing has had on society as a whole. Especially as Animal Crossing being viewed as an escape. During the time of 2020 people found many ways to stay busy. Animal Crossing was one of these with the author even agreeing her son viewed it this way. Many viewed it as a new world they could escape too from the terrifying world that we were living in.
How is animal crossing political?
In our reading “Animal Crossing Isn’t Escapist; It’s Political” written by Ian Bogoost we hear the author's voice their concern for how many issues Animal Crossing as a game can teach. The writer Ian Bogoost gives great examples of these types of issues that Animal Crossing has. The first one is a “...trickster and a symbol of wealth..” (Bogost.2020) which refers to Tom Nook. It is very obvious that a trickster man is not a strange idea to our politics. We also see the author speak on climate change which can be seen in certain ways through the game.
What is Castells’ behavioristic model?
In our reading “Communication Power in the Arab Spring and the Occupy Movement” written by Fuchs we are talking about Castells’ behavioristic model. This behavioristic model says social media is the result of revolutions and rebellions. The writer gets in with more specific which is it being “Facebook rebellions” and other claims that were made by a blogger of the name Andrew Sullivan. Sullivan said that the “revolution will be twittered” meaning that all of this information of such events would be on full public display online.
What was Jeffery Juris' ideology on social media?
In the reading for this week “Communication Power in the Arab Spring and the Occupy Movement” written by Fuchs we read about a man named Jeffery Juris. Juris was very vocal on his opinions on social media and how he felt. He essentially believed that with so much information that was constant being put on social media people would create what were sometimes crazy ideas. These crazy ideas would then lead to their being protested by these people. Juris would blame all of these protests on social media and its power.

Continuing Milgram Thoughts: 5 & 6
Shidou/Mahiru
No.5 and No.6 respectively. Again clear commonalities. May correlate their relations to Amane.
Themes
Love: Big one, as both Shidou and Mahiru clearly express some form of it within their respective MVs. Both also have a lover, who is depicted in very joy-related imagery. Shidou’s lover is depicted as a complex flower arrangement(THROW DOWN), while Mahiru’s lover is depicted as a pile of blue bird feathers. Flowers and birds both are living things that require care, however too much care can kill. In Shidou’s case, he clearly has been depicted with both black and white body tags, which point to the amount of people he was willing to kill to save this person(Note: that sentence was pre-Triage drop). Sacrifices/death aren’t new to him, as he’s a doctor, however he most likely does some form of organ transfer/transplant, in order to save the person he cares about. Mahiru seems to be a blogger, which displays another relation to online other than Fuuta. Her MV is organized as telling her love story through blogging and overall rarely has violent, uncomforting imagery in her’s(Note: this is pre-I Love You drop). She’s clearly in love, and bases much of her personality around her love.
Entrapment: Both Shidou and Mahiru have themes of being trapped in some form of love, but Mahiru’s is more clear then Shidou. Mahiru’s room in her MV is later revealed to be a giant bird cage, which then puts into perspective her lover in relation to the bird feathers. She is okay with being trapped with her lover, but as there isn’t an actual bird, it is clear she led to the bird’s death. With Shidou, he allows himself to not only be trapped in love, but in guilt, as it goes hand in hand with his perceived crime. With the newly released Triage, his love is clearly more familial, and we get to see a parallel in food being used as metaphorical imagery. Pomegranates for Shidou imitates the human heart and even symbolizes death, while Mahiru’s is focused on cake. As they are both meant to feed another with the food, the theme of communion and its importance takes place. To eat with others is an important experience, and can reveal a lot about the behavior of the people eating. In Shidou’s case, the pomegranates are placed in his home with his family give way to the imagery of rotten fruit and dead flowers His communion is surrounded by death. For Mahiru, this exchange of food is essential to life, in the same way that her love is essential. Without food/love, what is there to live for?
As the thoughts surrounding these two further in complexity, what then comes into mind is their interactions with Amane. Shidou represents everything Amane has been taught/brainwashed to believe is an unforgivable sin. They will most likely clash further now that Shidou understands that his medical knowledge is “indispensable.” Amane also doesn’t appreciate Mahiru’s acceptance for the medical help. I wonder if she can be unbrainwashed by pancakes and cake? Maybe the shared communion with the other prisoners may awaken something in Amane, and prevent her from causing the other prisoners harm.
Additional Note: Corpse Reviver? https://moneyinc.com/corpse-reviver-cocktail-name/
I also wonder if Mahiru's MV relates to the riddle “ How to set a bird free without opening the cage?”
Post 2nd Trial Mappi-Drop: I think that the riddle mentioned earlier about the birdcage seems to relate more to the situation than previously thought. When I first came across the riddle, it was mentioned that an answer could be that you kill/free the bird. Both require the bird to die, however one is taking on guilt for ending the bird’s life while the other focuses on freedom being better than being trapped. In “I Love You”, the poles of the bird cage seem to be replaced with carousel bars to hold up the magical horses. This change is interesting, as the reveal of Mahiru’s mental state being a birdcage was later in the first MV, but the carousel is immediately shown in the 2nd MV. This carousel even has a silhouette moment that leads into the climax of the MV(Which I’d argue to be the walking in the forest/ feeding the cake. A carousel gives the connotation of amusement and repetition, enough to be a magical experience for a child’s imagination. The repetition is seen in the silhouette scene, as the shadow carousel gets replaced with the imagery of Mahiru’s lover feeding her cake. This may be intentional, as it could go into the argument that cake = toxic love, and he was depicted giving it to Mahiru first. However with the recurring “dai” being translated as “monstrous” it seems that maybe Mahiru may have known the dangers of how she was loving this person.
Random note on silhouette, the colors of orange and purple remind me of Amane’s MV in the moment when she is brainwashed into Angel Amane.
Question: is the image of the shoes being off of the hanging dead body intentional? I apologize, I feel that it may have cultural significance, but it is escaping me at the moment. Maybe it confirms the suicide rather than murder, as suicidal people are thought in media to be more meticulous in their planning and taking off one’s shoes is a meticulous detail. This point is interesting as it could be paired to contrast the “I love you so much that we’ll die together.” Idk it just doesn’t sound as meticulous when there’s so much emotion.

Boost Your Online Presence with a WordPress Site
WordPress is a leading content management system (CMS) used by businesses, bloggers, and creators worldwide. With its user-friendly interface, customization options, and extensive plugin library, WordPress enables website owners to create a visually appealing, functional site without needing advanced coding knowledge. In this article, we’ll explore the benefits of using a WordPress site and offer tips to enhance its SEO, ensuring you’re on track to increase your online visibility and reach.
Why Choose WordPress for Your Site?
Ease of Use WordPress is designed for all experience levels. Its intuitive dashboard lets users manage content, images, and plugins easily, making it simple to maintain and update. Plus, with thousands of themes and plugins available, users can tailor their site’s appearance and functionality to align with their brand and goals.
Flexibility and Customization WordPress offers a variety of themes and plugins to match any industry or style. Whether you’re launching a portfolio, eCommerce store, or blog, WordPress provides flexible design options. With plugins like WooCommerce, you can turn your WordPress site into an online store. For added customization, many themes support page builders like Elementor and Divi, which enable drag-and-drop editing without coding.
SEO-Friendly Features WordPress is inherently SEO-friendly, offering features such as customizable permalinks, mobile-responsive designs, and support for structured data. Optimizing these elements enhances your site’s discoverability on search engines. WordPress also makes it easy to manage SEO-related tasks, especially when paired with the right plugins.
How to Optimize Your WordPress Site for SEO
To fully leverage WordPress for SEO, follow these essential tips:
Use an SEO Plugin Plugins like Yoast SEO and Rank Math provide comprehensive tools to optimize meta tags, sitemaps, and content readability. They guide you in adding keywords, optimizing images, and creating a structured site map that helps search engines crawl and index your site more efficiently.
Optimize Page Speed Site speed is a crucial ranking factor. Optimize images using plugins like Smush or Imagify to reduce file sizes without compromising quality. Use a caching plugin, such as WP Rocket or W3 Total Cache, to improve load times by storing static versions of your pages. A faster site enhances user experience and ranks better on search engines.
Mobile Responsiveness With mobile searches outpacing desktop, having a mobile-friendly site is essential. Most WordPress themes are designed to be responsive, but always check how your site displays on mobile devices. Google’s Mobile-Friendly Test can help you ensure your site provides a seamless experience on all screens.
Optimize Permalinks and URLs By default, WordPress offers several permalink structures. Choose a structure that includes keywords and is easy to read, such as "Post name." For example, change URLs like “mysite.com/?p=123” to “mysite.com/wordpress-seo-tips” to improve clarity and relevance to search engines.
Use Internal and External Links Internal links guide users through your site, encouraging them to explore more content. They also help search engines understand your site's structure and content relationships. Additionally, linking to authoritative external sources can enhance your site’s credibility. Just ensure these links are relevant to your content.
Regularly Update Content Keeping your content fresh signals to search engines that your site is active and valuable. Update blog posts with recent information, check for broken links, and add new pages when relevant. Regular updates can boost your search engine ranking and engage returning visitors.
Focus on Quality Content Content is a major SEO factor. Create high-quality, valuable content targeting keywords relevant to your audience. Instead of keyword-stuffing, focus on naturally incorporating primary and secondary keywords to maintain readability and relevance.
Conclusion
A well-optimized WordPress site is a powerful tool to boost your online visibility. With easy-to-use plugins and a range of customization options, WordPress makes it simpler to maintain an SEO-friendly site. By following these best practices, you’ll improve search engine rankings, drive organic traffic, and strengthen your online presence. Whether you’re new to WordPress or a seasoned user, these tips will help you get the most out of your site.

I'm aware that 'psychopathy' is no longer an actual diagnosis that anyone receives in modern times. The closest modern diagnosis might be 'antisocial personality disorder'.
but this is actually incredibly interesting to me, because the mechanism makes a lot of sense.
In my childhood, I learned very early that displaying fear around other people would lead to them jumping like hungry vultures at the opportunity to tear someone lesser apart, and make the fear and pain worse. So... I suppressed it completely, very early. A fear response in a certain situation shows other people in what ways you are vulnerable.
So I refused to empathize with other people's fears. I'd still help my friends, because it's a rational choice. but I also learned how eager that so many people are to betray another. So I protect myself from that by refusing to form a bond with anyone. Even the people closest to me eventually betrayed me, so I just stop giving real information to people.
Recently, over the past several years... I've been working to actually get over this 'block', because I am realizing how much better life is with genuine closeness. but I still believe that I have good reason to distrust many different people - especially therapist shitheads who strive to make money off their bullshit 'cures'. Go to hell, all of you.
I'll create myself as myself.
I saw vulnerable people as liabilities, because they're liable to just run off and spread information to someone who could use it against me. Tough world.
In years past, I used to describe human society as some kind of massive, pained, grotesque orgy of people hurting eachother, and in turn hurting another so that the newcomer can 'understand their pain'. Sometimes I wanted to kill it off as the root -- cleanse all society of this pain instead of spreading it out like mercury and lead which subfuse and accumulate throughout the ecosystem - hoping that the dispersion will filter this poison out by gradual process. NO! I refuse to feel what your parents did to you. Die in your own grave. I will not go with you.
but yeah, I think it can be a rational choice in this competitive and predatory world, but it's up to choice.
A brain can develop according to what an organism does. If someone practices cello, they will gain finer motor control of their fingers, and their brain will change accordingly. The same if someone chooses to consciously imagine how another person might be feeling, and how they would feel in different possible futures... their 'emotional skills' will develop like a muscle being strengthened. One has to make this conscious choice - and choose how to continue the process as it's happening. It's not a lazy skill, and it's not always automatic. Sometimes one must really sit there and think for twenty minutes about this type of thing.
alllsooo... I think it's a good idea to learn how to differentiate between people. I spent my teenage years literally as a fucking hermit because everyone and everything just felt so dirty and ugly and stained with generational abuse, ugly lies and false pride covering up people's pathetic insecurities. Even the bureaucracy was full of these pathetically-insecure people. So the only place I had to turn to was myself, because everyone else was lying to eachother and to themselves.
That's how I felt.
I find it poignant how a young woman can be encouraged to engage in the basest sort of cruelty - as long as you say it's in the name of kindness and equality. I find it annoying how people online feel so entitled to personal information about random bloggers -- (age? race? gender? sexuality? country of origin?) -- and they say it's for 'equality reasons' -- to determine if you're "qualified" to speak about certain topics or not, even if it's just in the realm of personal opinion. and if they think a person is "stepping out of their line", then they'll flood them with harassment. It's so counterproductive. A bunch of lonely losers harassing eachother to feel like they're "fighting the righteous fight" -- instead of actually organizing politically. Exactly what the powers-that-be will benefit from, conveniently...
Some people have told me I have a huge tolerance for 'cruelty' - things that might seem hurtful to someone else barely register as anything to me because they are just so commonplace in life for me, and I partake and give back an equal hand of cruelty so I'm not a poor victim. Conversely, other people tell me that I'm way too sensitive. I do snap suddenly and go right off the handle, and I rarely accept apologies. I choose who to trust based on experience, not 'what people say'. Most people lie at one time or another, and they often believe that some forms of lying are polite. I will never claim to tell the truth. I'm not morally-better. the good old Liar's Paradox.

Warnings : Fluff, angst, injury, blood
Please, consider supporting me on Ko-Fi ! ♥
The bouquet was there, in front of the entrance, waiting for someone to find it, proudly placed on the landing.
It was a magnificent bouquet, red, pink and blue, and he didn't even want to know how much it had cost. Inside a little card, the paper red, the writing black, it was a store not far from their apartments, Taehyung knew it, he remembered better than anyone what he'd asked Jungkook for, a bouquet from this adorable little store, just once. He knew they weren't rolling in dough, Jungkook had opened his clandestine tattoo store, in a basement rented from a friend of theirs, Kim Namjoon, it was free, in exchange for tattoos for anyone Namjoon brought in, so his partner. Taehyung, on the other hand, was a journalist, more of a blogger, who struggled more than Jungkook to make a name for himself on the Internet. So Jungkook paid for almost everything in their little studios without complaint, even if Taehyung felt a little bad about throwing a tantrum just for a bouquet, delighted to have won, feeling a little guilty, he read the card, pursing his lower lip.
“My love for you is eternal.”
Adorable is the first thing that pops into his head, and he hurries to retrieve a vase, the poor flowers needed water, so Taehyung puts it prominently, right on the living room coffee table, pinning the card against the fridge proudly, rereading it over and over again. He returns to work on his computer in the small bedroom, his headphones in his ears, sniffing a popular tune, so he doesn't hear when Jungkook returns. He jolts slightly when fresh lips, proving he'd certainly drunk the water in the fridge, press against his neck and cheek. Taehyung removes his headphones to look into Jungkook's eyes, turning to kiss him lovingly, wrapping his body in the embrace he always missed when Jungkook worked.
“- Whose flowers are in the vase in the living room?
- Mine.
- Oh. Oh. Right. Do you like them?
- Of course, they're beautiful!”
Taehyung laughed lightly, and let himself go for a more frank hug, without going completely into passion, anyway he looked far too tired to do anything, so Taehyung just stayed in the moment of tenderness, nothing could ever spoil this incredible day. They kiss again and time passes, a full week passes without incident, their lives progressing naturally, before the doorbell rings ringing in the apartment, Taehyung comes face to face again with a new bouquet, this time red peonies, purple roses, the faint scent of mint from the candle sends a shiver down his spine and once again, a small card stuck in the petals.
“Eternally yours. For even in death, I'd want only you.”
Taehyung blushes with pleasure, changes the roses, replaces the water to hold the new bouquet, before hanging the card with the other. This time, he wanted to please her in return: one bouquet was nice, but two bouquets was even better. He pinches his lower lip, preparing something to eat to thank him for all this attention, preparing Jungkook's favorite meal, well, second favorite meal. He's rather pleased to hear the studio door open, turning around in delight, seeing the look on Jungkook's face as he looks at the bouquet in a funny way.
“Another bouquet.
- Yes? Is there a problem?
- No, they're pretty. No, they're pretty, do you like them?
- Of course.”
Jungkook nodded gently, coming to embrace Taehyung by the hips, kissing his throat, kissing his nose, resting his gaze on the fridge where the new card was proudly displayed and this made the man sigh, making Taehyung wrinkle his nose, looking at him with all the curiosity of a lost child, he came to embrace Jungkook, kissing him lovingly, seeking to meet his gaze, to stop him looking at the card.
“Do you know that I love you?
- Of course, I love you too.
- So what's wrong?
- Nothing's wrong. I'm just tired.”
Jungkook seemed distant throughout the meal and Taehyung frowned a little at himself, understanding that he wasn't just tired and that something was wrong. He may have been a bit childish, but he wasn't a complete fool either, so he decided to sulk in his corner, arms crossed, eyes resting on his book. Taehyung hadn't read a single page yet, as Jungkook stepped out of the shower, still scowling, silence reigned in the room as the older man looked at his lover, glared at him, before finally, theatrically slamming the book shut.
“- That's enough. What's the problem?
- I told you, I'm tired, nothing more.
- Oh so, you've got that disappointed kid's pout, but you're just tired? Lie to me a third time and I'll sleep on the couch. With the flowers.”
The last words hitting home, Jungkook clicked his tongue, turning a dark look towards Taehyung, realizing he was right. His lover had something against the bouquets he'd received and he wrinkled his nose, this time a little less defensive.
“Didn't you give me the flowers? Or the cards?
- No, I didn't. I only put aside the money to do it, but obviously, someone decided to do it before your own boyfriend.
- Jealous?
- No, not jealous. Just frustrated I can't do it.”
Taehyung smiles softly, pulling him gently towards him, kissing him lovingly to help him relax, gently stroking his back, while Jungkook sighs, responds and rolls over on top of him, taking out his frustration on his favorite activity: sex. Once again, a week passes in the blink of an eye, and the doorbell rings again, indicating that the bouquet had arrived. Without much conviction this time, Taehyung went to open the door, surprised to see Jungkook, his face bloody, his fists battered, a superb bouquet of sunflowers in his hands, having surely seen better days.
“- Jungkook.
- Bouquet delivery.
- Come on, we've got to take care of this.”
He takes the bouquet delicately, before pulling Jungkook into the bathroom to help him disinfect his wounds, remaining silent for a long time, eyebrows furrowed, while Jungkook's eyes never leave him. When Taehyung finishes nursing him, his lover reaches out to kiss his face, mixing forgiveness and gentleness in the embrace, so that he stops wrinkling his nose so much.
“Are you angry with me for giving you flowers?
- No, I'm not mad. I'm mad at you because you got into a fight. And you promised me you wouldn't fight anymore.
- I couldn't help it, that bastard was there, in front of the store, saying he was going to give you your favorite flowers and that you were going to leave me for him. I saw red.
- Leave you for a bunch of flowers? Seriously?
- As far as I know, you're not with me for my way of thinking.”
Finally, Taehyung smiled, reassuring his lover, as he came to kiss him back, caressing his arms and thighs, deepening the embrace more and more before finally stopping it all, pulling his head back under Jungkook's growl, frustrated and in incomprehension.
“- But that doesn't mean I forgive you so easily.
- You don't?
- Hu-hu. It also means, no sex, for two days.
- Two days?! You can't do this to me!
- I can, but don't make yourself beautiful, I wouldn't be too cruel, I'll have pants this time.”
Taehyung bursts out laughing at the frustrated growl that passes Jungkook's lips, as he joins the bunch of sunflowers to help them survive a little longer, pursued by a companion who obviously won't let himself be punished so easily.

From Blank Canvas to Blooming Success: The Tale of Lily's Flower Haven
Once upon a time in a quaint little town, nestled between rolling hills and a glistening river, there lived a young woman named Lily. Lily was a dreamer with a deep passion for flowers. She had always dreamed of sharing her love for blooms with the world, and one day, she decided to turn her passion into a business.
With determination in her heart and a pocketful of savings, Lily opened "Lily's Flower Haven." It was a small, charming flower shop adorned with colorful petals and a delightful aroma that wafted through the air. From delicate roses to cheerful daisies, Lily carefully curated a selection of the most exquisite flowers.
The townspeople quickly took notice of Lily's Flower Haven. Her genuine smile and warm personality made customers feel welcome the moment they stepped inside. Lily didn't just sell flowers; she shared stories about each bloom's symbolism, origin, and care, creating a unique experience for her patrons.
Lily faced challenges, as every business does. Stormy weather sometimes delayed deliveries, and her shop was small compared to big chains in nearby cities. But Lily's dedication never wavered. She embraced the challenges as opportunities to learn and improve.
As seasons changed, so did Lily's flower displays. From vibrant spring bouquets to cozy autumn arrangements, her creativity knew no bounds. She organized workshops, teaching the townspeople how to create their own floral masterpieces. Lily's Flower Haven became a hub of creativity and community.
One day, a travel blogger passing through town stumbled upon Lily's shop. Impressed by the authenticity and charm, the blogger wrote a glowing review. Overnight, Lily's Flower Haven gained an online following. People from neighboring towns and even cities started making special trips to visit her shop.
With increased demand, Lily expanded her offerings. She started an online store and began offering flower subscriptions, catering to customers who wanted a touch of beauty delivered regularly to their homes. Her shop grew busier, but Lily remained dedicated to the personal touch that had defined her business from the start.
Years passed, and Lily's Flower Haven bloomed into a local institution. Lily herself became a respected figure in the community, known not just for her exquisite flowers but also for her kindness and dedication. Her small business had transformed into a haven of inspiration, a place where dreams and petals intertwined.
And so, in the heart of a small town, surrounded by hills and river, Lily's Flower Haven continued to flourish, a testament to the power of pursuing one's passion, nurturing relationships, and adding a touch of beauty to the world—one petal at a time.

Week 10: How Filters In Social Media Impacts Society
The variety of facial filters gives users more comfort and versatility in adjusting their own looks and even sorting through numerous profiles with a few swipes and clicking. Beauty filters serve as computerised photo-editing devices that can change certain facial traits by detecting them with AI and vision technology. Despite coming in a variety of shapes, filters have grown widespread on social media. In addition to its other augmented reality facial filters, such as those that give users an animal's ear and dialect, Instagram now offers beauty filters. On its selfie camera, Snapchat users can browse a selection of filters to apply attractiveness-enhancing enhancements. The beauty filter on TikTok, on the other hand, is a component of an app named "Enhance," wherein consumers can activate basic beautification on any topic. This style is supported by the types of AR impacts known as "deformation" and "face distortions." In the words of Rocha, distortion impacts enable producers to quickly alter the form and scope of specific facial characteristics, such as a "larger lip," a raised eyebrow," or a "narrower jaw," compared to the Zoom-like correction that merely mixes skin tones or absorbs hues of the eyes(Mosley 2021). As displaying and disseminating photographs on Instagram is its main function, academics have hypothesised that Instagram can be worse for women's anxieties about their beauty than other social networking sites like Facebook. Users on Instagram publish and watch a lot of gorgeous photographs with filters. Users can only change their photographs using filters on social media. With the help of Instagram's numerous beauty filters, users can improve their facial features, giving the impression that they have bigger eyes, fuller lips, smoother skin without any blemishes, etc. It's possible that such beauty filters and photos will cause women to feel self-conscious about their actual looks (Eshiet 2020).
Self-esteem problems can occur in young women who utilise social media extensively. A poll of 1,500 persons done by the disabilities organisation "Scope" revealed that social media platforms made over fifty per cent of them feel unworthy. Emotions of tolerance and worthiness are represented by esteem for oneself. People typically work to show themselves pleasantly because self-esteem is a basic human need. In order to be accepted by acquaintances, co-workers, and other people, people with a lack of self-worth occasionally lie on social media. "Many people who use social media for deceit do so by adopting online personas that are different from their real selves. This false persona may have both beneficial and detrimental repercussions on the person. When someone has self-esteem issues and compares themselves to others and social media influential people, they may display dishonest actions on social media. There are two methods of deceit that young adults utilise on social media: applying filters and photo-shopping pictures. There are numerous filters available on the Snapchat and Instagram platforms that may be utilised for modifying photos. In reality, society uses the process of photoshopping quite a bit(Eshiet 2020).
The new globalised beauty trends diverge slightly from those principles; for example, fairness is not a key attribute because of diversity in the worldwide beauty industry. Prejudice and bias can occur within communities as well as between them. There is a bias against people with lighter complexions in several nations in Asia, Africa, and South America. In light of the fact that each of the best models and style bloggers presents themselves in the same way, dress similarly, and even share photos in a similar way, it can be said that social media is crucial in establishing a particular standard of beauty. Other women have been influenced by these patterns to replicate them, using digital tools like applications and filters to do so. These days, the definition of what it means to be attractive has been defined by a picture of a lovely face and physique. It usually consists of improved mouth and vision, finer skin, prominent cheekbones, an established jawline, a slender waist, improved footwear, and so on. The widespread use of social media in the modern day has had an impact on many women. Younger women feel the need to emulate the ideals of attractiveness that celebrities and style bloggers have established. Numerous influencers use such filters and applications for commercial purposes to increase their appeal and, consequently, their income. Therefore, a lot of women use filters and programmes that assist to emphasise their jawlines, plumping up their lips, even out their complexions, reducing the size of their waists, etc. In other situations, it has undoubtedly reduced women's self-esteem to the point that they are unable to feel content with their actual complexion and physique. Additionally, it has given them an illusion since they strive to be like the people in their filtered photographs. In numerous instances, this causes a feeling of body dissatisfaction and generally diminished confidence in oneself. These ladies now find it nearly hard to share photos without filters, which has an adverse influence. Those who strive to be ideal-filtered selves to the point where they might want surgery should consider the psychological effects associated with these filters and applications. People's perceptions of beauty have been impacted by the continual push from social media to conform to the norms of appearance(Siddiqui 2021). Reference List:

How to Print Mail Merge Letters in Word
The Mail Merge feature in Microsoft Word allows users to create a batch of personalized letters, adding text, addresses and other elements. You can save the document as a Word file and send it as an email. However, if you are using a different mail program, you will have to insert the data into an Excel sheet.
To start, you must select the type of document that you want to merge. This may include a letterhead, a blank document, or an existing document. Once you have selected the option, the next step is to add recipients.
The recipients list will typically contain names, addresses, and phone numbers. If you do not have a mailing list, you can create a new list during the merge. A Microsoft Access database or Office address list can be used as a data source.
The Mailings tab is located on the Ribbon. It has a number of options, including Preview Results, which displays a preview of your letters. During the preview, you can add, remove, or change the fields in your document.
You can also print and mail the letters. When you select a letter, it will appear in the title window. Click OK to complete the merge. Alternatively, you can use arrows to move between different letters.

Add Me To Search: How To Create Google People Card
Introduction
Google people cards are a great way to help your users easily find and connect with you on the web. They're also useful for making sure your website is found by search engines, which can have an impact on how many visitors see it.
About People Cards
A Google people card is a feature that allows you to add your name, title and picture to the search engine's results page.
Google has been testing the feature since late 2015 and started offering it publicly in March 2016. You can see how it works by creating your own People Card here: https://www.google.com/search/people-cards/.
How to create Google people card
Create a Google+ profile.
Make sure you have a profile photo and fill in the other details on your page, such as location, gender and interests.
Once you're done with creating your Google+ profile, go to the top right corner of your screen and click "Create" under “People Search” (if it's not already there).
You'll see three options: Search for People Nearby; Find People Near My Location or Language; or Find Friends Based on Interests," depending on what type of search you want to make (see below).
How to add details to Google people card
To add details to your Google people card, follow these steps:
Add your name, job title and company. You can also add links to other websites you own or manage (including LinkedIn), social media profiles (like Twitter), and even other Google accounts that are connected to you.
Add a photo of yourself! If possible, choose one that represents what it is you do professionally—for example if you're an author then use one of their books on display as part of the background image. It makes people feel more connected when they see themselves represented in this way; especially because they can click through to learn more about who they're looking at before accepting any engagement with them online via email newsletters etc..
How to delete Google Search Card
Removing your Google Search Card is simple. To delete it, just click on the three dots in the top right corner of your search result and then click "Delete." You'll be prompted to confirm that you want to delete your card. When done, you'll see a confirmation message that says "Your Google Search Card has been removed. & add me to search "
How to change your profile photo on Google people card
To change your profile photo on Google people card, go to https://people.google.com/ and click on your profile photo.
You can upload a photo from your computer or phone by clicking the “Upload a Photo” button at the top of this page. Once you've uploaded it, click save!
People cards help users easily find and connect with you on the web.
People cards are a new way to connect with people on Google. They can be used by businesses, bloggers and others who want to share their content with the world.
People cards help you easily find and connect with others on the web by making your name or logo appear in search results for relevant queries like “Ronald McDonald House” or “Chase Bank financial services in New York City” or even just “My dog needs a haircut”!

Hey! Love your blog and completely agree with everything you're posting about Jamie Oliver, but so tired of seeing people equate Marcus Rashford - who has campaigned tirelessly for a cause near & dear to his heart - in the same category as Jack Monroe - who seems to think constantly tweeting triggering content with no warnings is good activism, and is often displaying a thinly veiled disdain for the very people they are supposed to be helping.
Hopefully I'll be proven wrong when the Vines Boots Index finally releases. We were originally promised that would be finished in like Feb/March though and haven't heard anything since, so I'm not holding out much hope.
I understand she's said herself in the past that she comes from a middle class background and her message was that poverty can affect literally anyone, but I'm sorry I see blatant snobbery peeking out sometimes, in the way she talks about the foster kids she grew up with, or the way she describes working class people sometimes - like in this article https://www.theguardian.com/society/patrick-butler-cuts-blog/2013/jun/06/food-poverty-jack-monroe-it-could-happen-to-anyone
"You have no idea whether the young woman with a black baby and a lanky blond nine year old on her arm is a foster carer or a 'slut' " - Jack Monroe in the Guardian. https://www.theguardian.com/society/2013/sep/18/jack-monroe-starve-benefits-england
This was their rebuttal to "whispers and stares" when taking her parents' foster kids out. So if hypothetically those kids were that young woman's then that's a bad thing ?! The article is well intentioned and i agree with its message but slips like this and implying that people in poverty aren't "normal people" in the first article which show how she truly thinks about us tbh.
I'll never forgive Jack for publicly bashing Corbyn several times in 2017-19, a man who would have put in place so many of the policies that Jack claimed to support. They were even planning to run as MP against labour in 2017 in Southend until they stepped down due to receiving an anonymous letter threatening them https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/food-blogger-jack-monroe-announces-10317018
https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/may/11/jack-monroe-abandons-bid-to-become-an-mp
Only once Corbyn had been replaced and had no chance of being Prime Minister did Jack change their tune.
I also wish the people recommending her website would give some of Jack's recipes a try first, they're mostly terrible, and make the infuriating decision to 'cost' by the amounts used, as if anyone is going to be able to find 4 pence worth of black pepper somewhere
Despite the good I can agree they've done with raising funds for the trussel trust, both times she's done a major fundraiser for them have also helped raise her own profile - the time she gave books they weren't donated directly by her to food banks, members of the public had to pay for 2 copies and one would be a "donation" which coincidentally helped inflate her books' sales figures. Her recent fundraiser involved purchasing t shirts with her name printed on them next to the slogans to again raise her profile - and we have no way of knowing that all of the profits are being donated as promised.
Just because someone shares our politics doesn't necessarily mean they're automatically a great person. Some will definitely co opt our movement for their own personal gain.
As someone who's been on Tumblr a long time I remember Zubat and the Leelah Project, I remember people on Twitter finally clueing up to Rachel Swindon, hell I even remember the HIV Hamilton mermaid fanfiction girl being outed. I honestly think Jack Monroe is someone in the same vein.
Sorry this is so long but I've seen Jack being paraded around Tumblr lately as if she's actually doing anything to help, people even giving them credit for being involved in Marcus' campaigning, and that's just not true. I feel like I'm challenging the Emperor's New clothes here.
Maybe I'm just overly mistrustful, but I'm just seeing a lot of red flags and I would recommend people donate directly to Trussell Trust rather than send the money to this person.
Having said all the above I do agree with the content of most of Jack's articles and tweets (even if I think they're in it mostly for the money) and I hope they absolutely destroy Lee Anderson in court.
(Jack uses they/she pronouns and I've included a mix of both in this post, sorry if its confusingly worded anywhere )
hi! thank you so much for sending this! there are some really great points worth pulling out of this. i always think it's good to treat any public figure with a healthy dose of scepticism. going to put this under a cut because it's long!
i'll preface this by saying that i don't follow jack monroe on twitter, nor to i keep a really close eye on everything they do - they're just someone who will pop up on my feed every now and then as a recommended tweet/because my mututals have liked one of her tweets, or i'll see them in the news/some panel show every once in a while. i also currently work for the trussell trust.
firstly yes, after reading those articles i totally agree with you that the classism is LEAPING out of this one. "I had a £27 grand a year job. I've not been brought up on benefits and a tracksuit watching Jeremy Kyle. I'm a middle class, well educated young woman who fell a bit by the way side. You think it doesn't happen to normal people, and you think we are all scumbags, eating burgers and watching day time TV. It can happen to anyone."
i understand that their point here is to dispel commonly-held perceptions about working/lower-class people, but even if someone was eating burgers and watching daytime TV, doesn't mean they're any less deserving of food lol. that whole article was clearly designed to appeal to the middle and upper classes (i.e. guardian readers), rather than building any sort of sympathy and solidarity for the working class, you're right.
though, perhaps in fairness i should say that those articles are from 2013 so... very very early on in the public side of her career, and she was only 25 years old so i don't think it's totally fair to expect every single thing that they said to tick every single "100% perfect and virtuous morality" box we have if that makes sense? i don't know how much conscious unlearning has taken place since then though, so i'm willing to be corrected here again.
her standing in the general election gives me huge jess phillips vibes - that whole empty "speaking truth to power" thing... though it is her right to stand if she wants to like i'm not going to pretend that the labour party is perfect, or that jeremy corbyn was perfect because (though i agreed with him on many many many things and i voted for him) he wasn't.
a minor point but i am poor and i use jack monroe's recipes and i don't have an issue with them lmao i think that's just a subjective thing that depends on what sort of cook you are tbh so i'm going to leave that
also agree with your point about her self promo - for example i really wasn't a fan of the t shirts (?) they recently sold to raise money for us at the trussell trust but also like... it did still raise the money, and if a silly t shirt is what it takes to tempt the public into donating money for foodbanks then that's something i'm sort of willing to overlook? like not to be machiavelli on main but sometimes the ends do actually justify the means.like.
more generally i think far too often on tumblr/twitter/the internet in general, people throw out the baby with the bathwater and are obsessed with seeing things in black and white. like. we are not immanuel kant and we are capable of viewing people with compassion and nuance and it doesn't have to be a "this person is EVIL you should totally ignore every single thing that they do" or a "this person is a SAINT you should totally agree with every single thing they do".
and like you said: on the whole you agree with most of their tweets/articles, so i don't think it's worth completely disparaging her. that being said, yes i also don't think it's worth completely venerating her either. you just have to trust that people aren't unintelligent and can make informed decisions of their own.
i know you said that we shouldn't compare them but one day marcus rashford (who is only 24!) will probably say something or do something ~problematic at some point in the future, but in my mind - and within reason - i don't think that automatically unpicks or undermines every single good thing a person has done.
i think a lot of this is a case of someone getting a national platform they weren't expecting, and then not being able to handle it well. like she doesn't deal well with any sort of backlash, and their actions perhaps aren't thought-through because she's literally just some person who wasn't trained or prepared for this. maybe they should hire some sort of PR team now though, if they haven't already...
#tldr i guess i'm agreeing with u on the whole?#but thank u again for sending this - it's always good to know these things#asks#anonymous#Jack Monroe#long post
