the "nobody compares to you" spotify playlist
You lean against the living room wall, holding three of your friends’ purses along with your own. The intoxication from a cup of jungle juice from an hour ago was beginning to wear off. You didn’t mean to become the unofficial mom friend of the group tonight, but your reluctance to endure more close-quartered gyrating cemented the position. If you had to utter another “excuse you” to an incredibly handsy frat boy, you’d be getting kicked out for an aggravated assault attempt.
You didn’t really mind sobering up a bit, not tonight. Whether it was your hazy thoughts or the particular ambience in this frat house, you just weren’t in a huge mood to socialize.
Earlier this morning, your friends had flooded your group chat with enthusiastic messages about yet another party happening later that night. It was a regular fall Saturday at your university, which meant there was always a rager or two.
You were perfectly fine tagging along with your friend group to these events, though. You were well aware of your friends’ ulterior motives in pushing you to come out, but you chose to ignore it. Instead, you’d allowed them to hype you up while getting ready earlier that evening. Some pre-gaming had ensued in the form of vodka shots, and sharing of eyeshadow palettes & lipsticks had occurred when dolling up pre-party.
“Babes, if you don’t teach me how to do my eye makeup the way you do, I swear…” Your friend Sidney whined next to you as she watched your steady hand apply finishing touches to your eyes.
You chuckled but said nothing as you set your liquid eyeliner down and reached for your setting spray. There was no need for such meticulous styling to your makeup for some trivial frat party. You mostly did it for your own satisfaction, but a particular memory had tugged at your brain with every brush stroke. But this memory remained unacknowledged as you fanned your newly set face.
You’d allowed yourself a revealing outfit tonight: a lacy black bralette peaking from underneath a maroon leather jacket and a tight black miniskirt that flounced with the slightest movement. Peaking from underneath your shirt was a pair of fishnet stockings. Topping it off was your favourite pair of knee-high black boots. This particular attire garnered squeals and wolf whistles from your friends in their equally slutty outfits.
A couple of hours later, however, your appearance was a contradiction to your spiritless demeanor. You were tired and sweaty, the majority of your foundation having been perspired off in this sauna of a gathering. Feet blistering as a betrayal of high-heel boots, you struggled to keep yourself upright against the wall.
“Hey, hot stuff.” An approaching voice says.
Your eyes darted to the sound, ready to hurl a harsh “fuck off” at whatever creep decided to enter your sobering bubble. But upon spotting the culprit, you relaxed immediately.
“Hey, Jesse.” You exhaled.
“Damn, you looked like you were gonna rip me a new one just now.” He chuckled.
“Sorry, sorry. You know how it can be at these shit parties.”
Jesse was a rare guy friend of yours. You didn’t make a habit of befriending boys at college, but he was an exception.
You’d met him freshman year when your friend group merged with another on the way to some start-of-the-year party. After some mutual friends introduced you, you hit it off almost immediately.
Jesse was easy to talk to, never a creep or too invasive. You loved his dumb dad jokes and loyal nature. He never hit on you, even before finding out you were a lesbian. During tough times in recent years, he was there for you. He was a genuine guy who you’d instinctively trust your drink with. And right now, he was good company to have when you were alone and wistful at these stressful shindigs.
“I get it, dude. But mom friend again tonight?” He asks, gesturing to the mass of purses in your hands.
You shrug and reply, “It’s cool.”
“Man, you’ve danced probably a total of three times at one of these things since last year. Are you even having fun?”
“Eh. After three years, I’m a senior citizen.”
“So what does that make me, since I’m graduating this year?” He asks, mockingly put his hands on his hips.
“Ancient,” You reply, sticking your tongue out at him.
Jesse places a hand on his chest and gasps dramatically, replying, “Fucking rude.”
You chuckle.
“I’m really okay, though.” You reassure him. “The girls wanted to go out tonight, but I’m just a bit tired.”
“Tired or overstimulated?”
You smile at his understanding.
“Both.”
He chuckles.
“Some cool people are passing around a fat ass joint outside. Wanna join?”
You hold up the handful of purses you were tasked to guard as a response.
“Alright, gimme,” He says, reaching his hand out. “Mom friend substitute while you go get high.”
“You don’t wanna smoke?”
“It’s cool, that’s where I’ve been for the last half hour or so. I should cool off for a little bit anyways.”
You feel guilty for leaving Jesse to watch your belongings, even for a few short minutes. But his fingers wiggle expectantly and you know there was no point in arguing.
“Thanks, dude.” You exhale as you hand off your weight. “Probably been needing a few hits of a j all night, anyway.”
“Looks like it. Go ahead; D’s out there smoking with them if you wanna say hi.”
“Oh, nice. Haven’t seen her tonight yet. Be back in a sec, then.”
You tear yourself off from your spot on the wall and will your blistered feet to move towards the door. Not absolutely sober yet, you stumble across the living room before you could push past the screen door and into the brisk October air. Following the smell of pot laced with lavender in the air, you see a circle of people hanging out by a parked Jeep, illuminated slightly by the embers of a joint being passed around.
Lavender?
“Oh, fuck.” You say a little too loudly.
A few heads turn towards your voice, one of which was Dina’s.
“Hey, babe! I didn’t know you were here!” She says enthusiastically, approaching you with a bounce in her step. She pulls you into a brief but tight embrace.
“Been here for the past hour, D.” You laugh nervously. “Where have you been?”
“Been helping El’s lazy ass roll a fuckton of j’s for the past half hour that she was supposed to roll for customers before the party. But now, we’re just chilling. Want a hit?”
Dina’s chin tilts towards the Jeep. Your eyes follow her aim to the girl sitting on its hood. Your breathing stops when you see the very person you were hoping not to encounter tonight.
She was unmistakable in a simple grey, unbuttoned flannel shirt with rolled-up sleeves to show off an arm tattoo, slightly distressed jeans, and her old Converse sneakers. A few strands of auburn hair fell in front of her face out of the usual half-bun. You watch as her eyebrows—the right one with its notable slit slashed through—furrowed in concentration as she attempts to relight the joint in her pursed lips.
Your throat closes up and you feel your heart clench tightly in your chest.
Ellie.
You immediately redirect your eyes back to Dina before Ellie can look up from behind her left hand shielding the lighter from the slight breeze.
“Uh, no. I’m good. Just needed to step out for a hot sec. Needed a breather from the sea of raging hormones in there.”
Another breeze suddenly hits your exposed skin, colder than the last. You figure this was a good way to excuse yourself back into the house.
“I’m about to freeze my tits off out here, though. Gonna head back in.” You hug your arms around your bare stomach, goosebumps starting to form.
You begin to turn right back around, but Dina grabbed your arm.
“Oh! You came with Sidney and them, right? She said you were all planning on going to Sterling’s after this.”
“We were?” You ask, thrown off and a little irritated that your friends hadn’t consulted you in this change of plans.
“Yeah! We’re gonna come with ‘cause I’m craving a blueberry pancake bad and Jesse’s deranged self wants a strawberry milkshake.” Dina affectionately rolls her eyes. “Just let us know when you leave? We’ll head out with you.”
“Um, sure.” Your heart begins to pound twice its normal speed.
By “we,” did she mean—?
“Okay, yay! We should go soon ‘cause I feel the munchies creeping up on me. I blame El for smoking me out as thanks for my rolling services.”
The auburn-haired girl smirks at Dina’s comment, but you refuse to look at her this time. Instead, your eyes trail after the joint that Ellie was now passing to the girl to her left.
The girl looked unfamiliar, but something in her face and posture screamed “freshman.” A brown motorcycle jacket was laying on top of her shoulders. Joel’s old motorcycle jacket. Ellie’s jacket.
You fight the urge to roll your eyes and settle for pursing your lips.
Chivalrous fuckboy graciously offering her jacket to a beautiful lady. Typical Ellie Williams move.
You don’t allow yourself to dwell on whether Ellie had decided to lend her dad’s old jacket to a pretty stranger or a new girlfriend. You certainly don’t allow yourself to settle on which scenario would hurt your feelings more. And you definitely don’t dwell on the fact that she’s pulled this move on you more than once in the past.
The girl takes no notice of your gaze as she accepts the joint, taking a hit.
“I love that you always add lilac to these, Ellie. It smells so much better than a regular j.”
Biting back the impulse to correct the girl, you merely look back at Dina to say, “Right. I’ll see y’all in a bit then, D?”
“Sounds perfect. We’ll be here!” She replies happily.
You give her a quick smile before returning inside the house, ignoring the green eyes now watching your departing figure.
You don’t know how, but you know for a fact that Ellie’d been staring at you ever since she heard you mention your freezing tits and unintentionally pushed your breasts together when you’d grabbed your exposed stomach.
You walk through the front door and head straight for the bathroom that was just to the right. It wasn’t clear at the moment why you’d known that there was a half bath in this direction, but you were busy catching your breath to care.
The bright, ugly fluorescents illuminating from the bathroom ceiling was sobering you up quickly. You wished you had gotten drunker. Trying to recall some breathing techniques an old therapist had taught you, your eyes fall on your appearance in the mirror.
Not awful. I still look kind of hot.
You reassure yourself that Ellie had only gotten a dim glimpse of you and hadn’t gotten a chance to notice how flushed you looked.
Is it from the alcohol or was it from seeing her again so close after all these months?
You could bail from the party now. Tell your friend group chat that you were heading home and text Dina separately, saying you weren’t feeling well.
I can’t…
It takes you about five seconds to scrap that plan. You weren’t that type of friend to just bail, especially not when you’ve got drunk friends who were all girls surrounded by creeps or creep-adjacent frat boys. Plus, you’ve barely seen Dina and Jesse since the start of the school year. You could set aside your selfishness for one night and endure Ellie for just a little while.
It’s okay. It’ll be like old times, except I ignore her the whole night.
You hadn’t noticed that you were tearing up a little. Quickly but delicately, you wipe any tears threatening to fall, carefully avoiding smudging your eye makeup.
I shouldn’t be letting her get to me tonight.
You give yourself a half-hearted pep talk that works, to an extent. Using your fingers to brush out strands of hair off your sweaty forehead and straightening your skirt out, you convince yourself to emerge from the bathroom and hunt down the man who led you to face Ellie.
You find him easily, not far away from the spot you had previously occupied from the wall.
“Jess…” You begin as you approach the raven-haired boy.
He was conversing with a frat boy, yours and your friends’ purses now either draped on his shoulder or slung around his chest. You would have giggled at this adorable image if you weren’t slightly ticked off by him.
Jesse sees you approaching and calls your name, beckoning you towards him and his conversation partner.
“Yo, tell Adam about Ellie’s dope ass joints that she laces with that lavender shit.” He points at you with his thumb. “Her idea, originally.”
“Huh,” Adam says. “Kinda cool. Not something I’d do for myself, but I know she’s always got primo shit. Must be a nice touch with the strains she got.”
You let out a noncommittal “mhm” and look back at Jesse, who has a sympathetic and apologetic smile on his face.
“You irritate my life, Jess,” You say, leaving out the guy Adam from the conversation.
“Sorry. It’s all out of love, my friend.” He replies, placing a hand on your shoulder. “Did you end up taking a hit?”
You glare at him and he chuckles.
“Thought I’d try. I’m sorry.” He says, sighing in defeat. “Dina tell you we’re going with you guys to Sterling’s after this?”
“Is she coming along with us, Jess?”
“We’re a codependent trio, so yes. Hey, that rhymed.” He snickers at his own joke.
You groan.
“I think I’ll head home instead.”
“Come on, don’t be like that. Just hang out with me and Dina. We really miss you and we’ve barely seen you. You don’t have to talk to her.”
“What happened to being a codependent trio?” You challenge.
“Our marriage counselor said to work on boundaries,” Jesse says jokingly.
You sigh.
“You wanna go now, then?” You say, relenting.
“Sure, I’m craving a strawberry milkshake real bad.”
You roll your eyes.
“Let me go round up the girls. We’ll meet you outside?” You say, reaching for the purses.
He waves you off and says, “I got it, girl. See you in a sec.”
You give him a tentative smile and proceed to the basement of the frat house.
After you successfully herded your friends, all of whom were at different levels of drunkenness, you ushered them upstairs to the living room and towards the front door.
You had your arm around one of your more intoxicated friends, who all of a sudden exclaims in her drunken stupor, “Babe, we should come to this frat’s parties more often! We haven’t been since freshman year!”
This stops you in your tracks, almost pulling your friend into you.
Ahh, you thought.
That’s why you’d been apprehensive about this house since arriving. This was the very same frat house where you’d met Ellie Williams for the first time. You met her the same night you met Jesse. You’d spent an hour or two conversing with her on a shabby couch in that same living room. The same house where those ocean green eyes pierced yours for the first time. The same house where you’d begun a “friendship” with someone who ultimately broke your heart.
Uttering a quick apology to your friend, you nudge her forward to exit the house you had no desire to remain in.
The twenty-minute journey from the frat to Sterling’s Diner did not seem long enough to you. Though you were longing to sit and rest your sore feet (you gave up a seat on the bus to one of your drunker friends who could barely stand upright), you preferred moving in a rather large group of friends where you could easily situate yourself away from Ellie if need be. You remained at the front of the group with your friend Astrid, arms linked as you trekked towards the bright lights of Sterling’s.
You all sit at a long makeshift table formed by three smaller tables pushed together. Your anxiety ramps up when Ellie sits across and a seat to the right from you. Refraining from glancing her way would be much more difficult now that you were both in each other’s line of sight.
Don’t look, don’t look, don’t look.
Your group was embarrassingly loud, disrupting the peace of the few restaurant-goers nearby. You silently make plans to pardon yourself to the bathroom and hide out for a good 15 minutes before you make an excuse to go home to your apartment.
Some of them are sober enough. As long as I check up to make sure they all get home safe…
Deciding not to order anything to avoid waiting til the end to pay, you tell the server that you don’t need anything. But before they can walk away, Dina, who was sitting directly across from you, interjects.
“Oh, she’ll just get a hot chocolate.”
You look perplexed.
“Dina, I don’t need anything.”
“I know for a fact that your tits are freezing cold and you need to warm up. Besides, I know you love hot chocolate.”
“D!” You whisper, embarrassed at the loud comment about your tits in front of the server. Dina snickers.
You smile at Dina’s thoughtfulness, though you’re slightly annoyed that your escape plan was thwarted. In the corner of your eye, you think you see Ellie make a certain facial expression. But refusing to look her way, you can’t make a guess as to what it was.
Not wanting to hold up the server’s time by arguing with Dina, you give a quick thank you and glare at your nosy friend.
“You and Jesse are really competing to see who is my number one tormentor tonight.”
Dina rolls her eyes playfully, “Why? What did our sweet Jesse do this time?”
You have to catch yourself from blurting out Jesse’s earlier endeavour. Despite the commotion your friends were making, you’re certain that your voice is still within Ellie’s earshot.
“Uh… ask him later.” You say, making eye contact with Jesse, who sat to Dina’s right.
He smirks and you grimace.
It feels like a lifetime waiting for everyone’s order to arrive. You sat awkwardly sandwiched between your friend Astrid to your right and Frat Guy Adam to your left. You stay quiet, not engaging in much talk. Dina and Astrid would attempt to pull you into their respective conversations, but you merely give slight nods and smiles and an occasional “mhmm” before going back to scrolling on your phone.
After exhausting all forms of social media that no longer entertained you, you sigh and place your phone down on the table.
Frat Guy Adam notices your movement and glances at your lockscreen.
“Boyfriend?” He suddenly asks, nodding towards your phone.
“What?” You say, startled.
“Dude on your wallpaper. Where is he tonight?”
Your lockscreen photo was of you hugging your favourite cousin, Rafael, and it was taken after your high school graduation.
“Oh.” You gulp. “No, uh. Older cousin. No boyfriend.”
“Really?” He says suddenly interested. He turns in his seat to face you better.
You shift uncomfortably in your seat.
“Not really the boyfriend type of girl…” You mutter.
“Why not? You’re pretty hot. Can’t be that hard to get a date.”
“Yeah, well, I’m a lesbian. Don’t need a boyfriend.” You say quietly but assertively.
Adam tsks, saying, “Man, really? Didn’t clock you as a queer.” He adjusts in his seat to his original position, chatting instead with his friend on his left.
You freeze. You knew Adam didn’t exactly intend for his words to be malicious, but you’ve heard enough comments like this in your life to understand its meaning.
No one else around you could hear his comment over the buzz of conversation. Except…
Your eyes meet Ellie’s, you having momentarily forgotten that this was what you were trying to avoid. It was strange to look into a familiar face and see an unfamiliar expression.
What was she thinking? Is that concern on her face? No, that’s something else…
You break her gaze, deciding that she’d only looked at you because you accidentally looked her way. She probably didn’t hear what had happened; and even if she did, it was none of her business.
Before you can even decide whether or not to say anything to Adam, everyone’s orders come flooding out. Your hot chocolate was placed in front of you, and ignoring Ellie’s piercing green eyes, you just stare at the steam rising from your cup.
You were growing more uncomfortable every second that passed. Being neither drunk nor high, you sit soberly in your seat and wish you hadn’t come out tonight in the first place. You suddenly feel tears welling up in your eyes, unsure if it was from your anxiety or Adam’s comments.
Muttering a brief “be right back” to nobody in particular, you quickly make your way to the two-stall women’s restroom. You nearly collapse against the bathroom door once it closed behind you. Burying your face in your hands, you try not to break down into tears of frustration.
After several moments, you pry yourself off the door and dare to look at yourself in the mirror. You look like a more tired, sweatier version of yourself from earlier in the night. Sighing, you grab a paper towel and dab it underneath your eye to remove any dripping eyeliner.
You nearly jump and poke your eye when the bathroom door suddenly opens. You feel your throat close up and your heart clench once more.
Ellie.

Being A Grunge Girl In A Clean Girl Summer
Hey Bestie! 💖 Let’s Talk Summer Makeup – How to Nail That Grungy Cool Look Even When It’s Hot!
Hey, babe! 🌸 Summer’s here, and while we’re all about those sunny days and beachy vibes, let’s be real – the heat can make our makeup game a little tricky. But don’t worry, I’ve got you covered! If you’re like me and want to rock that grungy, effortlessly cool look even when the temps are soaring, keep reading. I’m spilling all the tea on how to keep your makeup looking fab without melting away. 🖤🔥
Step 1: Prep Your Skin Like a Pro 🌞
First things first, babe – summer makeup is all about the base. To keep your look intact, start with a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated without feeling greasy. And don’t forget sunscreen! Choose a matte, oil-free SPF that won’t leave you looking shiny. Trust me, your future self will thank you!
Once your skin is prepped, apply a good primer. Go for one that’s mattifying and pore-filling to keep your skin smooth and your makeup in place, even on those sweltering days. A primer with a bit of a grip will help your makeup stay put longer, so you can slay all day without worrying about touch-ups.
Step 2: The Base – Keep It Light, Keep It Matte 🌿
When it comes to summer makeup, less is more. Go for a lightweight foundation or a tinted moisturizer with a matte finish. You want something that evens out your skin tone but still lets your natural glow shine through. If you’ve got a bit of redness or unevenness, a matte BB cream can be your best friend. It’s like a soft filter for your face – perfect for those grungy vibes without feeling heavy.
Got a few spots to cover? Use a full-coverage concealer, but only where you need it. Keep things light and breathable so your skin doesn’t feel suffocated in the heat.
Step 3: Grunge Eyes – Smoky, Smudgy, and Oh-So-Cool 🖤
Now for the fun part – those grungy eyes! Even in the summer heat, you can totally rock a smoky eye without it turning into a smudgy mess. Here’s how:
Eyeshadow Base: Start with an eyeshadow primer to keep everything in place. Choose one that’s sweat-proof to lock in your look.
Matte Shadows: Stick with matte eyeshadows in earthy tones like browns, taupes, and even some deep plum or charcoal shades. Use a fluffy brush to blend the color onto your lids and into the crease for that effortlessly cool, lived-in look.
Smudge-Proof Liner: Go for a waterproof gel or pencil liner. Smudge it along your lash line, and if you’re feeling daring, add a bit to your lower lash line too. Use a small brush to soften the edges for that perfectly imperfect grunge vibe.
Mascara: Finish with a waterproof mascara that adds volume without clumping. If you’re really into the grunge look, apply a bit more on your lower lashes for that “I’ve been up all night, but I look fabulous” effect.
Step 4: Cheeky Vibes – Keep It Subtle but Edgy 🌹
For your cheeks, go for a soft, natural contour instead of heavy bronzing. Use a matte bronzer or contour powder to add some definition to your cheekbones, jawline, and forehead. Keep it subtle, but sharp enough to give you that edgy, sculpted look.
For blush, opt for a cream formula in a muted berry or dusty rose shade. Apply it with your fingers for a natural flush that blends seamlessly into your skin. Cream blushes are perfect for summer because they give you that dewy, fresh look without looking too powdered.
Step 5: Lips That Last – Bold, Dark, and Beautiful 💋
Now, let’s talk lips! Summer grunge is all about those deep, bold shades that scream confidence. Whether you’re into a classic matte lipstick or a long-lasting liquid formula, go for colors like deep burgundy, chocolate brown, or even a daring plum.
To make sure your lipstick stays put, start by lining your lips with a matching lip liner. Fill in your lips completely to create a base for your lipstick. Then, apply your chosen shade, and blot with a tissue. If you want that extra staying power, dust a little translucent powder over your lips before applying a second layer.
For a more low-key look, a tinted lip balm in a dark berry shade will give you that grungy vibe without feeling too heavy – perfect for those super hot days when you want to keep it chill.
Step 6: Set It and Forget It – Lock In Your Look 🔒
Finally, lock in all your hard work with a setting spray that’s designed to keep everything in place, even when you’re sweating it out in the summer heat. Go for a matte finish setting spray to keep any shine at bay and ensure your grungy look stays flawless all day (and night) long.
Final Thoughts, Babe: Grunge It Up, Summer Style 🌟
There you have it, bestie – the ultimate guide to keeping your makeup looking cool, grungy, and totally fabulous during the hot summer months. Remember, the key is to keep things lightweight and matte, with just enough edge to channel your inner rockstar. Whether you’re hitting the beach or heading to a summer concert, this look will have you feeling like the coolest babe around.
So, grab your makeup bag, turn up the volume on your fave grunge playlist, and let’s slay this summer together! 💋✨
What’s your go-to summer grunge makeup look, babe? Let’s swap tips in the comments – I’m dying to see how you’re keeping it cool in the heat! 💕

Red Lipstick
Synopsis: Fresh off their breakup and public fight, Charlie is set on revenge. If she can't make Ethan change his ways, she can make him jealous.
The day after their relationship-ending fight, Charlie and Ethan are forced to work together. Instead of getting back together, they end up adding fuel to the fire.
Chapter 38 of the “with and without” series
Previous Series: “a weekend with dr. ramsey”
Pairing: Dr. Ethan Ramsey x MC (Charlotte “Charlie” Greene)
Words: 3.8k
Rating: Teen (language)
Also available on AO3 & Wattpad (link in Masterlist)
If love and hate are two sides of the same coin, Charlie’s coin was caught mid-air.
Charlie took a shot of tequila and savored the way the liquid burned through her body. It settled deep in her chest, numbing the unbearable ache of loss. The heat pooling in her belly stained her cheeks a dazed pink, mirroring the red on her lips and burgundy clinging to her skin.
Once, wearing red had been a gift to Ethan. Tonight, wearing it was a punishment. She would make him appreciate the poison on her lips. Even better, he could see this red lipstick smeared on another man’s lips.
Armed with a tequila buzz, Charlie only had an eye for revenge. The alcohol did nothing to quiet her desperation to make Ethan squirm. If anything, it silenced the only remnant of reason she still had.
Charlie couldn’t make Ethan realize the errors of his ways or drop to his knees and beg for forgiveness. She couldn’t even make him feel the same pain she felt tonight, but she could make Ethan pay.
He’d understand how it felt to invest everything into a man who’d spent years warning her of his true nature. He’d know what it meant to pledge his soul to someone who could disregard under the guise of self-righteousness. He’d feel the desperation and shame of a woman made unhinged.
It would be enough to make him feel the way she felt screaming at him in the hallway – helpless and righteous and violently disappointed. It was so strange that the person who understood her completely only a few days ago now fundamentally misunderstood her and her deepest needs.
She was looking at a stranger, but it was a stranger she knew so perfectly that a part of him resided in her soul.
She didn’t dare look at her reflection that night when she applied her red lipstick in a dingy bar bathroom. She wouldn’t have liked this version of herself. But right now, when the world was collapsing and everything was broken, Charlie knew she needed to kiss someone else, and she needed Ethan to see it.
That’s why she was here. She knew he’d go to Donahue’s tonight.
Ethan was too proud to take a public fight like that without needing a drink, especially when he didn’t have the privilege of having the last word. He’d want to drown himself in the bottle to avoid facing his reflection. And a small part of her whispered that he wouldn’t want to go home alone and be reminded that she wouldn’t be there to warm his bed.
Charlie picked up her fourth drink – a tequila soda with lime – and ignored the warning stares of her friend. As she sipped on the bubbly soda, she had a passing thought that she didn’t have to do this. She still had time to back out.
But Charlie brushed off the thought with an exaggerated grunt of distaste. She didn’t like feeling weak and out of control. She didn’t like that Ethan had positioned himself as the authority in this conflict. She needed something entirely her own, and her self-doubt only made her more convinced of her need to follow through with the plan.
She took another gulp of liquid courage and eyed the crowd.
Almost immediately, she caught the eye of Jeremy – a surgical intern who had a habit of flirting with her on consults. Ethan used to say how much he disliked Jeremy, though he’d never admitted he was jealous of the flirting.
That’s him, she thought, That’s my target.
Charlie held Jeremy’s gaze, pairing an exaggerated expression of innocence with a coy smile. He fell for it instantly, losing interest in his passing conversation. He looked around the bar, unsure her display was truly for him. Once satisfied that her attention belonged to him, Jeremy picked up his beer and moved through the bar with a grandiose sense of confidence – as if she hadn’t just watched him doubt that he was even the one she was looking at.
“Dr. Greene,” Jeremy greeted, offering a lopsided smile he thought was sexy. She fought the urge to recoil.
“Jeremy,” Charlie drew out the syllables of his name, emphasizing it to remind him they were no longer in the hospital walls.
“I haven’t seen you out in a long time, Charlie,” he repeated her gesture, leaning closer.
He smelled like beer and overzealous cologne, and Charlie’s nose prickled with the odor.
“It’s been a while,” she confessed, a smile still plastered on her lips.
“What’s the occasion?” he leaned even closer, and now, she could smell his breath. Beer and tobacco with pungent spearmint – an effort to hide the smoking or lure in a date for the night. She didn’t like the idea of either.
“Just wanted a night to not think about work,” Charlie lied.
“Now, I am very good at that.”
“Are you?” Charlie smirked. Of course, he was good at forgetting about work. He’d forgotten about half the consults he was supposed to finish this week.
“Let me show you by buying you a drink.”
This time, Charlie’s smile was genuine.
“You’re on,” Charlie added coolly, “but you better live up to the challenge.”
Just as she expected, his pride prickled at the provocation, and he led her to the bar like a man who had just won the best prize at the fair – even though she hadn’t engineered the whole thing. He ordered her a drink – another tequila soda – and didn’t notice how Reggie glared at him the entire time. Reggie cast Charlie a passing glance, and she averted her eyes in shame. Unfortunately, Ethan’s best friend and trusted bartender had to be complicit in her ploy, but the momentary embarrassment didn’t deter Charlie, even if she could no longer make eye contact with her favorite bartender.
Instead, she turned her attention back to Jeremy.
Up close, he didn’t improve much. His smile was too uneven, and his hair was too blonde. He looked too soft and sheltered. Fractures readily appeared in his ego, too. He wanted her to like him so much that she thought he might burst if she didn’t, yet he treated her with calculated indifference. He didn’t care much about what she said, which was fine by Charlie. She didn’t want to talk to him anyway.
Now that she sat here, she couldn’t remember why she’d ever thought about flirting back during their workplace encounters. A small voice whispered that he was so unappealing tonight because she was subconsciously comparing him to Ethan – a standard he could never overcome. But that voice could be drowned out with more alcohol.
When Jeremy began his second story about the epic surgery he’d shadowed this week, Charlie almost lost her will to carry on.
But then she felt it.
The change in the air.
The hushed, respectful silence.
The scent of sandalwood subtly drifting through the crowded room, reminding her of the nights spent sleeping in his shirts.
She felt Ethan’s presence.
It infuriated Charlie how much her body remembered and her mind betrayed.
She seemed to belong to him even when she was hell-bent on destroying him. In her grand act of defiance, she was just a pawn – to her boyfriend determined to hide her or a billionaire willing to do anything to save his wife or a killer virus threatening to take it all away. Once again, Charlie was weak.
Fury flared in her chest, burning bright red and blurring her vision with dreams of reclaimed strength. Fuck Bloom. Fuck Edenbrook. Fuck everything and everyone who screwed her over.
And most importantly – fuck Ethan Ramsey.
Charlie boldly leaned forward, so close that her curls brushed against Jeremy’s shirt. Eyes wide and lips parted, she stared at Jeremy like he was the god he imagined himself, and Jeremy choked on his beer in surprise. It was a flattering reaction, but Charlie didn’t notice.
All she cared about was the heat of Ethan’s stare burning into her skin, searching for some reminder of his claim on her. His eyes could have pierced her skin, teetering between sharp anger and fiery jealous.
Ethan was furious, and that made her smile.
“I’m so glad I found you tonight,” Charlie bit on her lower lip, eyes twinkling as she placed a hand on Jeremy’s thigh. Jeremy sputtered, and Charlie watched Ethan fume out of the corner of her eye.
He felt it.
Fuck, yes, Ethan felt it.
Charlie felt powerful and vindicated. It was intoxicating, and Charlie couldn’t get enough. She had to push him farther, to make him feel more. She didn’t care if she was dangerously close to a cliff if it meant Ethan would fall with her.
Ethan wanted to burn the fucking bar down. He pushed his way through the throng of residents with callous disinterest, his eyes never leaving Charlie and that fucking idiot. Jeremy Dagenhart? That little shit.
He didn’t deserve her attention. Ethan did.
That was his smile.
His girlfriend.
Fuck, that was even the lipstick he gave her!
Ethan fell into his usual barstool with so much force and fury that the wood nearly splintered. He imagined all the ways he could kill Dagenhart. Ethan could give him a rare disease, if he had the patience. Poisoning his drink would be faster. Skinning him alive would be more satisfying.
Wordlessly, Reggie delivered the scotch he’d prepared when he’d caught on to Charlie’s gambit, and Ethan gulped it down, failing to savor the expensive scotch. It burned his throat like a knife slicing through him, gaining momentum as the alcohol fought against the growing anger. He shoved the glass back on the bar so hard that the glass nearly shattered. Reggie expertly refilled it before Ethan could bark out a request.
Ethan couldn’t stop watching. He knew he was being watched, too. Behind him, he heard the whispers. He knew this entire charade was just as much for them as it was for him. He knew that his behavior was alarming and would find its way Bloom’s office.
But…
This was his Charlotte! His beautiful, wonderful Charlotte. The blonde hair that splayed across his pillow. The laugh that echoed in his apartment. The smell of coconut and vanilla that lingered in his sheets.
Charlotte Greene was the love of his life.
Ethan watched her with blazing jealousy. He watched her hand caress another man, her smile enchant another man, her body pressed against another man.
He couldn’t stand it.
Ethan had to scream. He had to make a scene. He had to show everyone – Charlotte especially – that Charlotte was his. He had to prove that their relationship was not just something; it was everything. He couldn’t allow everything to disappear like a bad dream. He couldn’t be replaced so easily…
One night.
It took her one fucking night.
Had he meant that little? Was he the only one so desperately in love?
His deep-rooted abandonment issues prickled at his consciousness, begging to roar back to life and add to the fire. Ethan couldn’t stand it. For fuck’s sake, he had to do something.
Ethan stood, not knowing what he would even do. Scream? Punch the guy? Drag Charlie out of this bar and beg her to forgive him?
Whatever he was going to do, it didn’t matter.
Because Charlie leaned in to kiss Jeremy.
Her lips parted, and she held her head high – like a woman who knew she’d won. Her lips brushed on the edge of his mouth, poised to whisper a suggestive secret, but from across the bar, she caught sight of a pair of hollow blue eyes.
Instantly, they were both sober, and all the fury and vendettas disappeared and all they were left with was a deep sense of regret.
All the life drained out of Ethan when he saw her lipstick smear on Jeremy’s skin. The blinding jealousy soured into betrayal. Charlie couldn’t fathom the look in his eyes – the dejection and unbridled pain.
Like Charlie was always bound to abandon him and Ethan was always meant to disappoint. Caught in their predestined roles and assigned trauma, Charlie wished she could step off the stage.
And just like that, the coin landed.
Charlie loved Ethan.
She loved him so much she couldn’t breathe. Her love swarmed her every nerve burned with emotion. It swept her up with such intensity that she could see nothing else. She loved him. She loved him! And… and she’d hurt him.
Staring directly at Ethan, ignoring the man who had become nothing more than an extra in a failed revenge montage and Charlie opened her mouth to speak. For a moment, she thought she might apologize to him – no, she knew she would. The painful throbbing in her chest demanded she did.
But as much as she couldn’t stomach what she’d done, she couldn’t apologize to Ethan.
She couldn’t crawl back into his bed and allow resentment to flourish. She couldn’t settle for less when she’d already demanded more – when she deserved more.
Ethan still couldn’t give her what she needed. Punishing him or apologizing did nothing to change that. The realization hit her like a sucker punch. She was so hellbent on revenge that she never considered the possibility that she would end the night with more anguish and shame than she had that morning. She forgot that pain wasn’t finite and injuring him wouldn’t be enough to heal her.
Hating him wouldn’t cure her, nor would loving him.
Nothing could cure her.
All she had to keep her warm was her regret – she shouldn’t have loved him. She shouldn’t have hurt him. She shouldn’t have done any of it. The fact that she had done it all would haunt her, just like he would haunt her.
Charlie’s cheeks burned with shame, and her mind swam with hopelessness.
She couldn’t fix this. She couldn’t fix them.
Faced with no other option, Charlie did the only thing she could – she ran.
Tossing out a weak excuse to Jeremy, Charlie rushed to the backdoor of Donahue’s and ran to the back alley. As the door slammed behind her, she gulping in the fresh air and heaved with desperation, waiting for the bitter cold air of this fucking city to give her some clarity.
Ethan flexed, his muscles instinctively knowing if it was his duty to be there when Charlie cried. Ethan took a step to follow, but he still didn’t know what he would do when he reached her. Scream? Cry? Beg for her forgiveness? Something told him that he couldn’t do any of it, and even if he did, it wouldn’t be enough.
Sienna didn’t hesitate.
She jumped up from her booth, abandoning everything for Charlie.
Sienna loves Charlie, he realized, She loves her better than I do.
The discomfort of knowing that his love was so inadequate compared to Sienna’s stalled him, and instead of chasing after the woman he loved, he stood still.
If I go, I’ll only make it worse, he thought.
But when he sat back down, he knew it was a lie. He was just a proud coward. His greatest sin was lying to them both by saying he could be more than that.
Outside, Charlie still hadn’t found a way to breathe. Everything was a choked sob, and she couldn’t tell if she was screaming or if her cries just felt like wails. The violence of her grief rocked her and left her unsteady.
“Charlie!” Sienna ran through the backdoor of the bar, ignoring the onlookers who glimpsed at the brief opening. All she cared about was Charlie, and upon seeing her, she sprinted towards her, wrapping Charlie in a hug before Charlie could process her presence.
Charlie crumbled into Sienna, gasping through sputtering cries.
“It’s okay,” Sienna soothed her, rubbing a circle on her back as she encouraged, “Cry all you need.”
“I kissed another guy,” Charlie managed, words garbled with tears.
“Barely.”
“I came to this fucking bar because I wanted to make Ethan jealous, and now I feel horrible.”
“That’s okay, Charlie.”
“I barely even did anything,” she heaved, “And it’s killing me. I saw his face, and I just… I…”
Charlie trailed off, dissipating into another round of heart-shattering sobs. Holding her, Sienna felt herself tear up, too.
“I love him so much,” Charlie’s voice cracked.
“I know,” Sienna sighed.
“I don’t know how to live without him – I really don’t,” Charlie confessed, “And I feel so fucking pathetic for it.”
“You’re not pathetic. You’re in love. It’s different.”
“He told me from the very beginning,” Charlie tightened her grip on Sienna, “He told me he would hurt me! And I knew it, too. For fuck’s sake, he’d already done it once. I spent that whole summer trying to become myself again, and just when I had, I went right back to his doorstep. I brought him back into my life, and I spent the last year lying to myself that he wouldn’t hurt me again.”
“You believed in him,” Sienna cooed, empathy coating Charlie with enough strength to catch her breath.
“I don’t know how to make my own coffee,” Charlie’s voice dropped. It slowly dawned on her that this was life.
She had to cry in back alleys in cold cities, wake up in the morning, and make her coffee. The daunting task of living the echoes of their life together haunted her like the ghost of all her past sins rolled into one man.
“I’ll teach you,” Sienna assured her.
She didn’t want Sienna’s coffee. She wanted Ethan’s.
“I’m so jealous of Ethan,” Charlie laughed – a sound marred by remaining sobs and lingering disappointment, “When everything went to hell last time, he got to run away to the Amazon. And we were only together for a weekend! This was a year. Hell, it was a fucking lifetime.”
“It was less than a year,” Sienna corrected with a soft smile, and she was relieved when Charlie laughed.
“Still. After a weekend, he got to run away to another continent, and after ‘less than a year,’ I’m shackled to Boston, where everything reminds me of what I’ve lost. Every time I step foot in that damn hospital, I feel like I’m followed by ghosts.”
Sienna paused, taking time to appreciate her words before she spoke. She didn’t want to say this. She didn’t want to lose anyone else, but looking at Charlie’s broken and despondent figure, Sienna knew she had to say it.
“Maybe it’s time you got the chance to run away, too. If anyone deserves a break, it’s you.”
Charlie’s lips parted, but she never spoke. She was stuck on the idea – on the freedom it presented. She knew she couldn’t. It would harm her career. It would mean giving up on Boston, and even temporary failure was too much to stomach.
But running away…
She’d never felt so relieved as when she imagined it.
“Maybe,” Charlie echoed weakly.
Sienna smiled sadly, squeezing Charlie again before finally untangling their embrace, “How about we go home?”
“You’re dragging me out of a bar because I cried?”
“I’m dragging you out of a bar because you’ve been through hell, and you deserve to cry and eat ice cream on our couch.”
Charlie was in no position to fight her. She would have rather died than walk back in that bar and face anyone who had just seen that shitshow, especially Ethan. It shattered her just to make eye contact. Anything more might actually kill her.
“I left my jacket inside,” Charlie chewed on her lower lip, debating abandoning the jacket in the bar to maintain her pride. She had other jackets…
“I’ll go get it,” Sienna offered, “I need to get my stuff anyway.”
“Okay.”
“Charlie.”
“What?”
“I love you.”
Charlie’s lips parted in a smile, and she meekly said, “I love you, too, Sienna.”
Satisfied that Charlie was okay to be left alone, Sienna crept back into the bar, hoping to garner as little attention as possible. A few residents noticed her, though they averted their eyes out of respect. Jeremy was still at the bar, looking confused and mildly embarrassed from all the attention. And Ethan – Ethan was standing by the door.
Sienna jumped when she saw him, startled to find him so close.
He hadn’t had the strength go out there, but he had to be near Charlie.
“Is she all right?” he blurted out as soon as Sienna was close enough.
“No,” Sienna responded icily. It was impossible to see her best friend so devastated and not instantly hate the man who caused it. “What the hell happened?”
“I – well, we had a fight – and she was mad and I – I don’t …” Ethan stammered, shaking his head before finally accepting, “It’s my fault.”
“I assumed so.”
“Do you think I should…” Ethan wistfully looked to the door, “Should I talk to her?”
Sienna knew Charlie was fragile. One longing, loving look from Ethan and she might fold.
“Can you fix it?”
“What?”
“If you talk to her, will you make it right? Are you going to be what she needs, or are you just going to hurt her again?”
Ethan was taken aback. He hadn’t expected such bluntness from Sienna.
If Ethan didn’t have solutions, all he would do was hurt her. Charlie deserved better.
And fuck, Ethan still didn’t know how to fix it. He was a cancer to Charlie’s life. He killed all the best parts about her and still asked for more. He was too much of a coward to even comfort her outside, yet he wanted her now. He hadn’t changed his mind – he still wanted to keep their relationship a secret and protect her career. He’d already done too much to hurt her. He couldn’t also takeaway the one thing she’d worked her entire life to achieve.
“No.”
Sienna sighed in disappointment.
Ethan did, too. He probably hated himself more than Sienna did in this moment.
“Then, no, you shouldn’t go outside.”
He knew she was right. That was the worst part.
“Is she okay though?” he asked so softly that Sienna hardly recognized the voice.
He didn’t deserve to know she would be all right, yet looking at him now, Sienna couldn’t deny him that one comfort.
“She will be.”
“I love …” Ethan stopped himself, dropping her gaze as he silently chastised himself. He didn’t deserve to say he loved her. “I’ll pay for your ride home. Just make sure she’s okay.”
“Thank you.”
“Don’t thank me. We both know I don’t deserve it.”
She didn’t correct him.
Instead, Sienna walked to her table, collected her bag, grabbed Charlie’s jacket, and gathered her friends to rally around Charlie. Sienna, Aurora, Kyra, and Jackie quietly filtered out of the bar. A few minutes later, they took the car Ethan called for them. By the time they got back to the apartment, Charlie’s favorite takeout food was waiting at the door, ordered in Sienna’s name to hide his tracks. In the morning, she’d get flowers – again signed by Sienna because Charlie didn’t need to feel guilty for the gift.
But tonight, Ethan raised a toast to himself and how he’d fucked everything up.
Not that he deserved all of the blame.
But they each took it for themselves anyway.

Love you like an Alcoholic (Matt x Tom)
TW: Abusive & Toxic relationship, dubious Consent, Alcohol Abuse, Co-dependant Relationship.
A/N: Wanted to make Matt the 'obsessed' one, though wanted to show what goes in their mind.
===================
"Tom, do you remember about our reservation?" Matt stared at the mirror, carefully applying pink lipgloss on his lips and adding a bit of warm blush to make himself look lively. He noticed by the large mirror, that his partner was behind him near the closet and was facing away from him.
"Mhm," Tom mumbled, fumbling with his suit with glossy eyes. Though for just a simple formal outfit, it was taking him quite some time to place the button.
Though Mathew didn't care so much, just ecstatic that he'd finally go on a date night with his beloved after a rough week, their reservation was just an hour or two away anyway. And continued to stare intently at his appearance, fearing for any blemishes and imperfections.
"Won't it be romantic! Just us! I even got us the balcony view, gazing into the stars and drinking light champagne!" The flamboyant man was already imagining how lovely they'll night go and turned to look at Thomas, his face showing a lovey-dovey expression but his small dream was crushed as he noticed the brunette becoming sluggish with his movement.
His mumbling became slurred which was a sign
In their shared apartment, the ginger-haired male was relentless, in pursuing Tom's attention. Adorning himself in expensive and fashionable clothes became an obsession, a desperate attempt to grasp onto a validation that always seemed just out of reach.
Tom, however, remained elusive, drowning himself in alcohol or escaping the confines of their shared space.
"Did you drink again, my love?" His bubbly voice, turned sour— becoming a more dark one. Though the gentleness didn't disappear, a small hint of disdain was mixed into it. He had planned this reservation for months! Not to be ruined by his partner's silly antics, doesn't he understand what he did to keep this relationship afloat?
Trying to keep his dear tommee bear out of trouble from thugs when he was batshit drunk, or carrying out from bars when getting kicked out? And paying the rent despite their savings being drained dry by Smirnoff.
The atmosphere in the apartment became suffocating as Matt took the flask hidden in Tom's pocket and threw it on the tiled floor, crushing the liquor container with his bottom magenta heels. The flask punctured and then crushed between the weight of the sharp heels and the liquid seeped out.
"Are you listening to me, Tom?"
Matt's patience wore thin. His carefully crafted appearance had crumbled, his lipstick smudged, and his eyeliner now resembling a messy canvas. Frustration and resentment boiled within him as he stood tall and stared down at him.
Tom, inebriated and indifferent, regarded his partner with a mixture of annoyance and apathy. "What's your problem, Matt?" Tom slurred, the alcohol dulling his senses.
The shorter male, however, pushed the ginger aside and stumbled towards the door, acting nonchalant about the whole situation. He looked to be more irritated that his favorite flask was crippled beyond repair, than ruining his lover's preplanned date night.
"What's wrong with me? What's wrong with me?! " Matt yelled out and threw his favorite makeup pallet, onto the wall, and the branded makeup crumpled into nothing.
Strands of his hair pointed in every direction, the perfectly applied makeup now smudged and his mascara running down his face, he was panting— taking deep breaths.
"It's what's wrong with you!"
His voice dripped with bitterness. For once, just wanting to be in control of the situation, Mathew locked the door behind him before Thomas could leave the argument.
"I've sacrificed who I am to be what you want and take me for granted! " Matt spat, the toxicity of their dynamic surfacing.
Has he forgotten who's paying for this apartment? The one who had to bust out Tom numerous times out of jail due to his drunken behavior which created a scandal for his reputation? Has he forgotten that?
"Just shut up Matt, We'll miss the— reservation." Tom's response was dismissive, exacerbating the growing resentment within Matt.
"Can't you see what I did myself for you?" Matt continued, his words fueled by a toxic blend of anger and desperation. Tom, unmoved, leaned against the wall, the distance between them a stark representation of their fractured relationship.
He waved his hands around frantically, showing what he had to do to keep them financially stable, to work his ass off, makeake sure he looked his best, to look always picture perfect around Tom.
Goes too far to lavish himself in designer clothes and soft makeup to make himself look more appealing, just to get a
. warm smile.
"I did all of these for you! I try to get your attention!" He screamed at him, recollecting all those times, the pure effort it took to have Tom's affection whether that be putting himself in uncomfortable positions to satisfy his needs or giving him all his hard-earned money to buy whatever the brunette wanted from him.
"Any sort of praise! Just any thank you!"
He cried tears started to spill down his cheeks before Tom leaned towards him, giving soft kisses on his smudged lips. Matt wanted to push him away, wanted to cut ties with him but he couldn't— he adored Tom too much.
The drunk man pressed a lingering kiss to Ginger's forehead, and, they felt a static feeling.
It made him feel lightheaded and nervous,
"I've done everything for you, Tom"
He's already in this deep. What's more than a few touches could do? The ginger-haired man allowed his vulnerability to be taken advantage of as he felt the other man, slip his hand under his silk blouse, feeling the unwanted touches all over his skin.
"Can't you see what I'm willing to do for you?" He muttered, hating Tom with every ounce of his fiber, hating how he craved this man's affection even if it gave an icky feeling afterward, he just couldn't help but feel a sick twisted sense of reassurance, knowing that Tom was trapped in this relationship with him too.
If he can't have Tom's attention, then nobody else will. Even when the attention would only be given to his drunken state.
"Can't you see what I'm willing to do just to keep you, even if it's so painful?" It was useless to talk anymore, he wasn't even sure if Tom was listening to his scenic pleas or lost to exploring his pale body, the feeling of repulsion drowning him to the point where he wanted to tear off his smooth skin that was being tainted by the touches he so dearly desired.
As Matt's emotions reach a breaking point, he realizes this is the only way he'll receive the love he badly craved so it doesn't matter about his boundaries anymore— that's how much he loves Tom.
The apartment, once filled with the promise of connection, now echoed with the painful of the young adult, out of pain, out of desperation with his unfulfilled desires.
In the end, this was just another night in their apartment, trapped in a never-ending cycle of bitterness, the sad reality of a relationship that had soured beyond repair.

How to apply foundation perfectly
1.Prepare your skin: Start with a clean, hydrated mouth. Cleansing, moisturizing and ensuring a smooth canvas for foundation application. Apply primer if desired. A primer can help create a smooth surface and make your foundation last longer.
2. Choose the right foundation: Choose a foundation that matches your skin tone. Try it on your chin line or wrists to find the best shade for your skin. Consider your desired skin finish (matte, dewy, natural) and the right type of foundation (liquid, cream, powder) that suits you.
3. Gather your tools: You can apply foundation with your fingers, a makeup sponge (like a beauty blender), or a foundation brush. Choose the tool that works best for you.
4. Apply the foundation: Start with a small foundation and build as needed. It is easier to add more than to remove excess. Apply the foundation in small lines or lines on your face: on the forehead, cheeks, nose and chin. Use the chosen tool to mix the base out and down. Use a gentle, dabbing or stippling motion to avoid lines or brush marks. Focus on blending around your hair, nose, and chin to avoid lines or harsh borders.
5. Conceal blemishes and under-eye circles: Use concealer to cover any blemishes, dark circles, or imperfections that are not completely hidden by foundation. Apply concealer lightly and blend it well with your foundation.
6. Lay your foundation: Set with a translucent setting powder to prevent your foundation from becoming slippery or shiny throughout the day. Apply the powder with a soft brush, focusing on oily areas like the T-zone.
7.Finish your makeup: Complete your makeup look with blush, bronzer, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara and lipstick as desired.
8. Spray setting (optional): Finish with a spray to keep your makeup long lasting and fresh throughout the day.

This will help your makeup adhere better to your skin and prevent it from sliding off throughout the day. Additionally, moisturize your skin before applying any makeup to keep your skin hydrated and avoid any dry patches.
Use a Sweatproof Primer
The key to sweatproof makeup always lies in applying a primer. Look for a primer that is specifically designed to combat humidity and sweat. And Ecostay Insta Smooth Mattifying Perfecting Primer helps to ace the base by blurring out your open pores with a no-clog formula. Consider Base Makeup
When it comes to sweatproof makeup, long-wear products are your best friend. Instead of caking up with heavy compact powder, use Ecostay Ideal Finish Pressed Powder, as it feels ultra-light on your face and prevents the T-zone from getting oily. Yes, it gives a flawless and all-day wear finish to makeup.
Opt For Waterproof Eye Makeup
We know how embarrassing eyeliner and mascara smudges are in this summer season. And to stay safe from makeup bummers in these sweaty months, switch to waterproof and pigmented kajal, eyeliner, and mascara. The smudge-proof kajal, such as Ecostay Longlasting Kajal, has a transfer-resistant and waterproof formula that gives a one-stroke application to your eyes.
Invest In Longwear Lipsticks
Regarding sweatproof makeup, transfer-proof lipsticks should be your first call. And have you been looking for no-smudge lipsticks lately? Set Your Makeup
Setting your makeup is crucial if you want it to last all day. Use a setting spray to help lock in your sweatproof products. A makeup fixer–Finish-Up Dewy Makeup Fixer And Mist provides an extra layer of protection against sweat and humidity. At the same time, a setting powder will help absorb any excess oil or sweat. Apply the setting spray or powder all over your face after you've finished your makeup. In conclusion, achieving sweatproof makeup doesn't have to be a daunting task. By starting with a clean and moisturized face, using a sweatproof primer, opting for long-wear products, setting your makeup, and keeping blotting papers on hand, you can ensure your makeup stays flawless all day long, no matter how much you sweat.
