as a true geto hater it brings me immense joy to remember that he got packed up by a suicidal anxious loser w/ the power of true love who hadn't even learned his own cursed technique yet and had been studying jujutsu for less than a year

“I’m not going anywhere.”
Tumblr media
+ MAJOR MANGA SPOILERS +
Explicit Smut 18+ 🚫Minors DNI🚫
Satoru survived being severed in half thanks to Yuuta’s Reversed Curse Technique and subsequently claimed victory, but you keep reliving the moment you saw him die before your eyes. You wake up beside him one night crying from a nightmare of it, and wanting to make you feel better and remind you that he’s okay and he’s not going anywhere, he lets you take him any way you need him.
Relevant tags: AFAB reader with minimal gendered language, reader insert without using “y/n”, graphic nightmare at the beginning but it’s quick, fix-it, hurt/comfort, soft and emotional sex, handjob, fingering, Satoru’s 6-inch fingers, slow sex, praises and declarations of love, lots of kissing, love bites, riding, unprotected sex, creampie, cockwarming, Satoru’s big cock :’) <3
Music recommended while reading: My Love (Sia), positions (Ariana Grande), Souvenir (Selena Gomez), Religion (Lana Del Rey)
A/N: no I’m absolutely not over wtf happened in ch 236 and yes I’m 100% crazy enough to still believe him when he said he’d win. He’ll win and I trust him. I have to or I’ll go crazy. Here’s this emotional smut to cope.
Read below cut:
He was winning. He was fine, he was smiling and now—
He’s not. He’s not moving, he’s not doing anything but he’s in half he’s in fucking half and there’s so much blood—
You scream. You scream but it sounds like it’s underwater and you can’t breathe, you can’t feel anything but despair and pain and dread and anger and disbelief and fucking devastation. Satoru is— he’s— oh god, he’s—
“Hey.”
You’re sobbing. Tears stream from your eyes but you can’t feel, you can’t see anything, you can’t hear, you can’t exist without him—
“Hey. Hey, hey, hey.”
That voice snaps you back to consciousness, a deep gasp from you following. Warm hands are on your shoulders, and you look up at the source, eyes landing upon Satoru’s concerned face. His beautiful, alive face. What? How?
“Hey,” he murmurs again softly, brows furrowed in worry as he rubs up and down your arm soothingly. “Shh, shh, shh…you’re okay. It was just a bad dream.”
A dream?
“No it wasn’t,” you shake your head, voice broken. The lump in your throat won’t go away as you continue to cry. “You were…you were gone and I—”
“I’m right here,” he cuts him firmly, squeezing your arm. “Look at me. I’m talking to you, aren’t I? I’m fine. Promise.”
Your eyes search his face, his body, and blindly you reach out, touching his clothed abdomen, feeling over it to make absolutely sure he’s not lying. When you feel nothing but solid, warm flesh underneath, even when you touch down to his thigh, you relax, sniffling. He’s completely intact. He’s okay.
You remember then what had happened after he had fallen. You’d gone into a panic, threw up, and blacked out after sobbing uncontrollably after tearing your eyes from the screen that displayed his lifeless body.
When you woke up, you were lying against a wall, Shoko watching over you, telling you that Yuuta managed to get ahold of him while Yuuji and Higuruma were fighting Sukuna. He’d used his Reversed Curse Technique to heal him, and he was up and fighting again, this time facing off with Kenjaku.
It was jarring to see him back alive, like you were seeing the resurrection of a god. But it was okay. He was even stronger than before, and along with the others, he was capable of defeating both of the threats.
His victory had restored balance once more.
He’d come off of that battlefield on his own two feet, sweaty, heavily banged up and exhausted, but he had a brilliant smile on his face that said everything is fine now, and he’d welcomed you into his arms without hesitation.
“Oh god,” you breathe out, “It was a dream. Thank god.”
He wraps his arm around your waist and pulls you in, planting a kiss on your temple.
“I told you I’d win, didn’t I?” He asks, “You gotta trust me, silly. M’ not going anywhere.”
You huff, nuzzling into his chest. “Don’t call me silly because I’m worried about you.”
He sighs softly, rubbing your back. “Fine, fine. But seriously, I’m fine. So no need to worry, okay? I’m right here, however you need me.”
He is. You can feel him in your arms, you can feel him holding you, and yet in your sleep-fogged mind, you can’t help but still retain some anxiety that you’ll wake up again and he’ll be gone for good. That you imagined all of those victories in order to cope. You need to feel more of him to confirm he’s real.
“However I need you?” You ask, drawing back to meet his eyes, gleaming in the dim lighting of the moon. He nods.
“Of course. What kind of boyfriend would I be otherwise? I’m yours to do with as you please.”
You can’t help it; his tone always brings out a special playfulness in you. “As I please? You sound so easy.”
“Easy for you,” he grins wolfishly, and you roll your eyes fondly before sobering up.
“I need more reassurance,” you tell him. “I want to feel you.”
He eyes you curiously, nodding. “Sure thing. What do you have in mind?”
You reach up to touch his face, brushing your thumb between his eyebrows to work out the furrow, then dancing it over his brow bone, then his cheekbone, and finally his lips. You pad it over the soft skin there before leaning up and kissing him, relaxing at the familiar taste of his mouth. He doesn’t hesitate to return the gesture, lips moving with yours in a combination of slow and sensual.
The hand that was resting on his jaw slowly travels down over his neck, where your thumb runs over the column gently, grazing his Adam’s apple a few times before moving on to his collarbone. You explore that spot for a few moments and then massage down his shoulder, over his pec, flattening your palm to feel the beat of his heart.
It calms you to feel that strong thump thump thump against your touch, impassioning you enough to make you deepen the kiss and slip your tongue into his protestless mouth. A soft groan sounds at the back of his throat, and that spurs you on to continue touching him, running your palm over his muscles that were once lithe, but after time spent preparing for battle while he was sealed away to occupy himself, have turned thick and solid. You ghost over the ridges of his abdomen and shiver, feeling each contour through his shirt.
It sends a wave of heat through you and your ministrations turn heavy with desire, finding the hem of his shirt, sliding your hand underneath it and massaging over the hot skin of his naked chest. He groans and guides his own hand from your waist to your ass, clad only in underwear for comfort to sleep, giving it a generous knead.
“Mmh,” you breathe into his mouth, letting him go further to grab your thigh, hooking his hand under your knee and hiking your leg up around his hip.
His tongue runs over yours dirtily as his hand slides back up to the apex of your legs, reaching around to cup your mound through the thin garment over it. His middle and ring fingers massage over that little sensitive pearl just begging to be touched, making you moan softly.
Your lust is deepening by the second and it makes you grow bolder, palm on his abdomen lowering to the front of his boxers and caressing the sizable hardness it finds there. Subconsciously you start to move your hips with his touches, kiss turning sloppy the more you pleasure each other.
The drags of his fingertips get a little too difficult when the fabric over your core gets soaked through, so he easily amends it by slipping his fingers beneath the edge of the article, touching you without any barriers.
“Satoru,” you moan louder as he teases the swollen pearl beneath his digits. He hums in his throat, and wanting to even things out, your hand dips below his boxers, wrapping around the hard and hot erection he’s been sporting since you started kissing him.
A bead of precum at his tip makes the slide a little easier and you feel him start rocking into your hand, meeting your strokes, a breathy groan sounding from him.
He wants the upperhand, of course, so he elects to push two of his lengthy fingers into your entrance, causing you to gasp, spreading your legs wider to accommodate. The man’s digits are long enough to reach your cervix without even trying and he presses pointedly against it, wriggling the tips of his fingers against that sensitive spot teasingly.
“God, Satoru,” you mewl, touching him with more purpose, circling your thumb over his tip.
“Ngh,” he groans in response, moving his hand so that he starts finger-fucking you at a pace, the wet sounds reaching your ears along with the heavy pants from the both of you. You clench around him and he speeds up, abusing that part deep inside of you just with his hand.
You love it when he fingers you but it’s not what you want right now—not truly.
You look up at him, shuddering at the look of unbridled lust pooling in his cerulean eyes. He always gets this certain wild look that gives you goosebumps.
“Satoru,” you manage breathlessly.
“Yeah?” He asks, just as winded.
“I want you inside me. I need to feel you.”
He sucks in a breath and nods, pressing a quick kiss to your cheek before pulling his fingers out of you. He rolls to lay on his back, raising his hand up to his mouth and running his long tongue over the digits coated in your essence, a deep groan sounding after. It invigorates your desire for him and hurriedly, you remove your soaked underwear, freeing him of his own boxers afterward.
He sits up for a moment to get his shirt off, tossing it off the bed and then grabbing your hips, making you straddle his thighs. His hands hook under your shirt and you raise your arms so that he can remove it, the two of you now bare as the day you were born.
He wastes no time in kissing you again, this time more desperately, using one hand to guide your hips over his large cock, the other holding it still. He slides inside as you lower yourself, girth forcing you to stretch generously.
“Fuck,” you breathe into his mouth. You’re familiar with his impressive size by now but it never ceases to light a fire with your nerve-endings, length stuffing you full even before he’s bottomed out. You shudder and push him down to lay out on the bed, following him, breaking the kiss to bury your face in the crook of his neck. His palms grip the tops of your thighs as you lay on his chest, your skin touching everywhere. He’s so warm and sturdy beneath you, you feel like you could stay like this forever, tucked into him, split open on his dick, nestled deep inside you without any effort. You breathe in and get hit with the scent of his skin, musky and sweet in a way that’s unique only to him and completely intoxicating to you.
You push your nose more greedily into the column of his neck, moaning as he starts rolling both of your hips together slowly. Like this, his abdomen provides the perfect firm muscle to grind your swollen pearl on, heightening your pleasure.
He bends his legs to provide himself with a little barrier so that when he pushes your hips down, they don’t have anywhere to go, forcing you to take his cock deeper. It prods at your cervix and forces hot chills over your body, your hands bracing on his shoulders helplessly as he does all of the work.
You inhale deeply as he grinds up into you, walls fluttering around him, eliciting a groan from his syrupy voice.
It sends a shiver through you and wanting to chase it, you flick your tongue out over his collarbone, licking along the flesh to taste him.
“Oh,” he grunts, sucking air through his teeth as you feel him twitch inside of you. Encouraged from his response, you do it again, closing your lips around the spot and sucking. A stuttered breath is pulled from him, your hold on his arms tightening.
Like this, you just feel so safe, so content. He’s all you could ever need. Sure, he’s insufferable sometimes and his personality goes overboard naturally, but he’s never too much for you. He’s serious when he needs to be and so sincere in his sweetness, in his affection—you don’t know what you’d do without him. You thank any god that might exist along with the stars that he survived, that he prevailed and that everything is fine now. Your chest swells with all of the gratitude in the world and it spills over.
“Satoru,” you breathe, feeling tears prick at your eyes, “I love you so much.”
You feel him swallow thickly as his hands rub comfortingly up and down the expanse of your back, kisses being pressed to the top of your head.
“Me too, baby,” he replies softly, voice slightly strained with the distraction of heat around his cock. “I feel the exact same way about you.”
You sigh shakily, littering sloppy, wet kisses over his neck, starting to roll your hips in time with his.
“I’m always gonna be here,” he continues between labored pants, “You…you can’t get rid of me. Mmh—you’re stuck with me for life.”
Your kisses begin to be accompanied by involuntary whimpers, the sensation of him locked inside of you along with his smooth skin rubbing against your sensitive bud starting to overwhelm you.
“I’m gonna…h-hah…love you so much you’ll be annoyed with me,” he continues, sucking air through his teeth, “oh fuck…so glad I have you. I really am.”
You sniffle, a watery smile spreading over your lips. A few tears escape your eyes but this time they’re of joy.
“I’m so glad you’re here,” you say with your entire soul.
“Nothing can keep me down for long,” he assures you, “I promise, okay? I promise.”
You nod against his neck, moaning when he speeds up, hands controlling your movements to meet him thrust for thrust.
“Sh-shit, Satoru,” you mewl, feeling your climax start to approach. His breathing gets heavier and more ragged, chest rising and falling so prominently that it jostles you on top of him, indicating that he’s just as wrecked as you are.
“Fuck, I’m close,” he exhales thinly, “Oh shit, shit, god you’re so tight…I’m gonna…”
You choke on a gasp, eyes squeezing shut. He always rambles when he’s nearing his finish, control on his words slipping, and you think it’s the hottest thing in the world.
“Ngh,” he gasps out, guiding you faster on top of him. You clench at the feeling, nearing the peak—“oh fuck, it’s gonna, it’s—a-ah, ah, fuck…”
You feel exactly when he cums, cock twitching hard as he spills against the entrance to your womb. The feeling of release pouring coupled with his incessant grinding on your mound pushes you to climax, a full body shudder taking over you as you tighten around his member.
He groans at the feeling, giving you another spurt of release, hands moving up to hug you close, pressing his cheek to your forehead.
“That was so good,” he breathes.
You nod in agreement, kissing his neck once more.
You know this is the part where you get off of him so you can clean up to get back to sleep, but you don’t want to move at all. You’re completely sated now, and the feeling of his softening cock inside of you is comforting. Undeniable proof that he’s right here with you in the form of a dull stretch in your core.
“Let’s stay like this,” you tell him, and he chuckles softly.
“It’s just that good, isn’t it?”
You snort softly, raising up to meet his eyes. “You’re such a little shit.”
His smile is lazy and mirthful. “Ah, but I’m your little shit. By law you have to deal with me forever, sorry.”
He shrugs in a way that indicates he’s not sorry at all, and your grin widens.
“I’m happy to deal with you forever.”
His beautiful face is radiant with the next smile he gives you, and when your lips meet in a soft kiss, you realize that all of the anxiety and fear that nightmare had left you with has been melted away.
Satoru is real, and he’s okay. He really isn’t going anywhere. He’s safe and warm and set to live a long and happy life by your side.
When the kiss ends you lay back down on his chest, and he takes to drawing invisible circles over your back with his fingertips, the steadiness of his breath, the sureness of his heartbeat, and his comforting scent all lulling you to a peaceful sleep with the promise of his presence tomorrow.

I've reread 261 and I am not even that sad, just disappointed. Disappointed but not surprised with Gege for going to such length to disrespect two characters at once. Gojou, for obvious reasons of treating him like a monster (wow, Yuuta, I didn't know you thought your teacher was a monster 😐) and not letting him rest even in death. But also the way it was placed? Literally pushing Yuuji to the side??? Unforgivable
I am slightly curious about the domain battle because Sukuna is injured/exhausted to a degree he wasn't when up against Satoru so Yuuta has a slight chance. But I think we will get a chapter for the domain fight -> Sukuna wins but suffers ct burn out and Yuuta dies -> either Maki or Yuuji attack again
I am just so disappointed with the state of the manga I used to love :( Feels like Gege is pulling cheap tricks for the sake of "ha! you didn't predict that!" and being not like other mangas
I understand 😔
I have issues with that entire monster angle; I see why that perception exists and why Yuuta, even when trying to support and defend Gojou, still calls him that. It really drives home the way he's perceived even by people who care about him. It's not even an entirely negative term the way it's used in JJK—Shouko calls all the gathered students monsters once, and it's not an indictment—but in this particular context, it really highlights how other Gojou is to these people.
And honestly? He doesn't deserve that. JJK isn't a story where people get what they deserve, but god fucking dammit, I'm gonna be sad about this all the same. Gojou's death was a tragedy, and now we know his life was one too.
The issues with the execution and timing of this plot development, however, are more objective and also worse. Gege dropped the ball with the timing and the fight structure. Hell, I think Yuuta entering like this in place of Tōdō a couple of chapters earlier might have mitigated the damage. Not entirely, but somewhat. This whole fight has been more lows than highs so far, and I'm usually someone who's fond of extended fights in anime, shonen or not.
I'm also expecting the domain clash to pan out like that, yeah. Which would be boring as fuck. Maybe there will be something interesting there. I sincerely hope so.
Hope TMA is being kinder to you, friend!

i’m sorry but i need to rant a little about the new chapter and how people reacted to it. i’m so annoyed at how people say no one understood gojo and didn’t mind using him. like the reason shoko didn’t say no is because she thought he was going to win like throughout the whole fight she was smoking so much out of stress. and also yuta - he’s getting so much hate for no reason 😭 yuta was the only one that understood the burden they put on gojo as the strongest and kept treating him as more than his tittle, him saying that he’s willing to be the “monster” is so important because he’s legit calling out the unfair treatment gojo in the jujutsu society and saying that he’s willing to take on gojos burden for the good of everyone, essentially following in gojos footsteps and sacrificing himself for everyone else which is not what would’ve gojo wanted but it’s the consequence of being the strongest and he knows it. essentially imo he’s in the same spot that geto once was, where they are the 2nd strongest so they’re close enough to see how hard it is for gojo and see him as more than just “the strongest
i agree with everything you said :( it’s flabbergasting to see such hateful reaction in the fandom regarding shoko and yuuta. yuuta’s distress during satoru’s fight with sukuna was more than visible, it was written all over his face the whole time—bc he was dreading the consequences if satoru were to lose. shoko too in her own way (smoking intensely, cigarette after cigarette as you pointed out). just bc she’s not as expressive doesn’t mean she did not actually give a fuck—she believed he’d make it and i feel so fucking sorry for her it’s just so sad how she had to suck it up and dissect her closest friend :( i think deep down nobody really expected satoru to lose but either way they needed a plan b….yuuta’s literally putting his life on the line, i think his visceral reaction when everyone opposed him was bc they were trying to save him—bc 3 out of 4 possibilities yuuta dies—while nobody ever considered saving satoru :( imo too he’s the one person that best understood satoru and the burden placed upon the strongest and now he’ll dive even deeper into that since he’s got his memories too

cant fully speak as i am not up to date with the manga so take this with huge spoonful of salt. as devastated as i have been reading the spoilers, i do have some thoughts. while i can 100% see how people find this last chapter frustrating, and agree to an extent, it does feel almost poetic in it's tragedy imo.
more thoughts under the cut
the satosugu of it all? we have to get this out of the way first. the way that both gojo and getu's bodies were used as tools and weapons to fight on the side of what they believed when they were alive, except it's contorted. gojo gets sealed because he's distracted by kenjaku in geto's body, yuuta appears as gojo because they cannot win without him. even if he lost. they were both just figureheads by the time they died, gods for their devotees to bow before. not to mention the toll on people around them, who have to live with this resurrected and came back wrong and yet somehow didn't come back at all because are you really back if you're just a puppet who's only purpose is to be used? they will always be intertwined. (also not to mention the physical appearances of the stitches, gege really went in with that one.)
also kind of love the call back to are you the strongest because you're gojo satoru or are you gojo saturo because you're the strongest? i've seen a few posts about this specifically in the tag and what the answer might reveal itself as. i don't know what it's gonna be, frankly, and i also don't know what i want it to turn out to be. i just know that it's going to be interesting, especially on the note of how gojo was really just a god to most people. he was The Strongest tm because he could do what no one else could. even he didn't really believe he could be defeated. was that because he was gojo saturo, who was at the end of the day permanently a little smug (though not without reason), or because he was the strongest, so he could simply acknowledge the fact? i don't know!
i think that for yuta and yuji and shoko, in particular, to have a chance at feeling any peace it needs to have been worthwhile. they've all sold their souls to win at this point, to beat sukuna, but especially yuta. who did what no-one else would or could fathom. (we do not support or accept any yuta hate on this blog thank u.) i also appreciate that it ties into the overall narrative of both jjk as a whole and the jujutsu society. it's a tragedy, and it's set up as a tragedy. for even the people who exist and live in this world. i hope that yuta doesn't end up dying as a result of this, though i know it's possible if not almost likely. i think there's a great deal of poeticism about a boy haunted by death once again kind of existing between alive and dead. his brain is alive, his body is dead. has he been a little bit dead since the day rika died? is that still why he can face all of this? i hope he gets a good ending, but i'm not really holding my breath for it. also i think the massacre of the higher ups was LONG TIME COMING. they claimed to want to protect the jujutsu world, but they did so at all costs, and honestly they were wrong often. having yuji itadori put to death when he's likely going to be the one to defeat sukuna. absolutely iconic, no notes. also i think killing the higher ups aligns with what gojo wanted most of all. he often said no one is supposed to take the joys of being young away from the youth, and he protected his students. two of which were going to be put to death by the higher ups if he hadn't stepped in. he said that his dream was to build a world where those kind of sorcerers would be able to run a better society, and hey after they defeat sukuna, maybe they will.
i know i'll have more thoughts about gojo giving consent for his body to be used after death, knowing that he was after all the strongest, but my initial thoughts are just that it makes sense, both for gojo as a character and because of the tragedy of the jujutsu world. death always walks beside them, they're always thinking about it. for someone as strong and vital as gojo, it makes sense to make plans for inevitabilities you can't prevent. especially after what happened to riko and how no one could save her, how gojo's first death lead to hers. even yuji, who has been a sorcerer for less than a year, is constantly thinking about death (and has died a fair few times himself). that's so much of the reason that he even joins the jujutsu world. he wants to have a Good Death and he thinks being a jujutsu sorcerer will lead the way for that. maybe gojo also wanted that. a good death where he was still able to serve people, even beyond it. a death that would mean he was able to uphold the society that geto, not radicalised geto but his best friend from high school, would've wanted.
this became a really long rambling essay, sorry to anyone who clicked under the cut expecting like concise expansion. thank you for reading this for this long if you did! like and subscribe for more of me dissecting the fact that gege akutami is absolutely a sadist wearing a chefs hat and we are all overheating in this kitchen

I started following you after 236 because your emotions and posts echoed my sentiments. I love your posts. They make me laugh, they make cry. But most importantly they make me feel like I am not insane to feel this way for something fictional.
I hate the fact that bringing any criticism towards Gege’s writing results in being called a Gojotard. You can like the entirety of something and still criticise certain aspects of it.
I am not condoning all the threats and hate directed towards Gege but fans are allowed to be mad at the direction this story is going. Yes it is Gege’s world but we can have complains about it. That doesn’t make us fake fans. That just shows how much we’ve loved what he has created and how it affects us when it is taken away.
I feel many fans are tiptoeing around it because there are two extremities now in the JJk fandom. One - that will defend anything Gege produces and the other who is so done with characters being killed off and not adding anything to the plot. Both these sides are equally loud and thus polarising this fandom. People were on the edge after how Yuki’s fight with Kenjaku was handled and I think 236 was the final blow that divided the fandom.
I came across one post yesterday where it highlights the huge power difference between good guys and the bad guys with just Sukuna’s power alone. This is minus all the power Sukuna gave up (we don’t know if he got them back after).
It contains spoilers for 237 - https://www.tumblr.com/sleep-deprivedracoon/729649802609082368/jjk-manga-leaks-heavy-spoilers-ahead-please-do
To me, it feels like Gege has written himself into a corner indeed with shattering the ceiling (Gojo’s power was considered the ceiling in JJK power scaling) with Sukuna’s abilities.
What do you think?
i am trying to piece all my thoughts together in this so pls don't mind if it gets too long or loses track a bit.
first of all thank you and we are in this together i feel you I am still trying to wrap my head around the recent leak, until and unless we have proper leaks i will remain in denial about megumi also it's so sad to see how after the massive shock and reaction we got last week we've just given up this week it has become a thing where we are just hoping gege doesn't kill another of our favs and atp this trick is getting too overused to be appreciated (also the reason why as you mentioned we have two extremist side of fandom). i get it. gojo's death and sealing got jjk trending yet again, publicity even if negative publicity is still garnering the intrigue of many more people, not to ignore we have equal amounts of, if not more gojo haters because he was too strong.
now coming back to the story line, yes we are allowed to criticize when there are obvious plot holes and it serves for no purpose other than shock factor. Gojo's death was massively poorly written because all this time gege kept implying that even if sukuna had all his fingers gojo was the strongest (which is why he had to use mahoraga) his plot was gojo and sukuna are AT par with each other which is why this was a big deal and why he had to be sealed so kenjaku could follow through his plans and when sukuna regained his powers gojo wouldn't be a hindrance. now compare that to 236, it says sukuna actually wasn't going all out and NOW sukuna is to reveal his true form. really? really?? when the strongest character you've ever created does not stand a chance against this demon we're supposed to believe that the rest can? his students who are yet to unleash their full strength, the only special grade is supposed to? i mean we can still hope on yuuta because he has rika, the queen of curses and sukuna being the king of curses (love kashimo but as they said he's probably not surviving) but that doesn't seem much of a hope (as much i wish it was).
now coming back to the topic of when was the last time the good guys had a proper win since shibuya? do we really remember it?? (ofc apart from maki and unsealing) the bad guys are still standing strong, we have yet to see atleast one of main villains to fall and when is this going to happen??? it's been over 2 years now just how long are we supposed to keep digesting as "not so shonen" writing? (even mahito's death was just kenjaku absorbing him). i mean yeah it keeps us on edge but you as the author have the responsibility to keep the readers addicted and going and by the looks of it the og fans are dropping it one by one, is it really worth it? is it gege?
ofc course i don't condone the death threats but cmon a frustrated reader watching their favourite characters losing all the time is allowed to express themselves, maybe gege has a plan to turn this around but right now people are allowed to be angry and pissed and confused and frustrated, it's only natural, they cannot just expect people to see evil winning all the time and be alright about it now can they? these people calling others a "gojotard" are here for fun and they understood the premise of the mcs always losing so they root for the overpowered villains and hence enjoy the manga and move along what they fail to understand is that some of us are not capable of switching sides, we are still rooting for trios, the initial sorcerers whom we got attached to and we are tired of seeing them constantly unhappy. you're allowed to complain!! criticism is valid!!!!
and i seriously hope gege has some trick up his sleeves or he's ready to lose a good chunk of his loyal fans because this isn't looking good. we wasted last six months for nothing really, unsealing gojo did not help with anything except a 13 chapter long fight. and the outcome? back to square one!!!! so what was the point of the whole unsealing arc and shinjuku fight? not to mention the lukewarm reaction to his death portrayal and barely a passable explanation. sukuna is very oped currently but i have two bets against him, angel and yuuta (remember when sukuna thought angel was a pain and he wanted to kill them because he thought they could get in way).
i agree with t user sleepdeprivedracoon hakari has to win, there's no way gege is planning to kill him because then the manga is done for and i do not care what others say we are allowed to grieve, complain and make memes and jokes out of this hopeless situation we are currently in because that's literally how this manga is going so others who are so aggressively defending gege need to understand the criticism is valid and these reactions are valid and they need to get off their high horse. the not so shounen excuse is really not that convincing and we are allowed to be frustrated and angry it's a natural human reaction damn it. till then keep reading and remember life gets better but jjk doesn't (surpise us this halloween gege pls)

"Sure. So for Geto it's mostly that I don't like villains with a bigoted ideology and he's too incompetent to even fall in the "love to hate" category. Really, the worst thing a villain can be is incompetent and Geto in Vol 0 is barely better than your average disney villain. Doesn't help that he never gets pushback on his ideals. Gojo tells him in Premature Death that killing people is bad, but that's it. He spouts his bullshit about how genocide is totally necessary and Yuuta stands there like "idk you might be right, but you want to kill people I care about and that's the real crime here". Nobody really engages with his ideology except Yuki I guess, but that was before he became an antagonist. I could forgive that to a degree if he was at least a real threat, but he isn't. You don't get any of that with Geto, he's not even fun to hate because he barely provides any pushback. He's a bad villain and I dislike him as a person as well. His descent into embracing the superiority of sorcerers and resolving to kill all non-sorcerers was well written, but I don't feel for him at all. Good riddance to the guy, I'm glad he's now dead both in body and mind."
I was so sad, when reading this, what do you think?
Hm, I think whomever said this obviously has their own reasons for disliking Geto and I'm cool with that. I really don't want to like, argue this specifically and try to come up with something that's like "um actually, you're wrong" because this is how they view the story and Geto's character. I personally am partial to evil characters as long as I think they're fun. But I do want to engage with this, and I'm thinking that's what you want too Anon?
To break it down:
Geto's incompetent and acts like a Disney villain I understand why it can come off like that. Disney villains usually have simple, straightforward motives, the older 2-D ones acted flamboyant and show-y, in which case Geto fits into it all. I think the OP meant his reasons are shallow but I think Hidden Inventory gives you a perfect, deep insight into his spiral and how he ends up being so extreme. Geto seems incompetent but to put into perspective, he's been working on this cult for 10 years(and is rather successful), when he was fighting Yuuta, he was also technically simultaneously fighting literally every sorcerer in Tokyo and Kyoto. There's been hints throughout the movie and especially in the light novel, that Geto wasn't exactly fighting to win. He's not in his right mind like you can see it in the way he is towards the end of the fight. Gojo says Geto doesn't want to be saved. I think Geto could have survived after fighting Yuuta, he had just lost an arm and yeah that's a devastating blow but JJK characters have moved pretty well for a good while after worse injuries(Nanami was half burned and was fighting, Toji was literally speaking with his guts blown out, Todo had his hand chopped off, there's probably more I'm forgetting). Geto COULD have gotten out but as we established from Hidden Inventory, he would allow Gojo to kill him, that part stands above his own ideologies. It's subtext, but it's like Geto was giving up. He wasn't intending on winning, he even made escape plans for all his cult family members but not for himself? That's not something a man who's sure of victory does.
Geto doesn't get pushback Oh he absolutely does. No one's engaging with him on his ideologies on-screen, sure, but Geto atp is not someone you could reason with. Shoko engages with him, calls him out on how childish he is but Geto doesn't engage he straight up ignores her and just politely chuckles, he doesn't want to. It's a dead-end and that's what extremism does to you. On top of that, it's been explicitly stated that the sorcerers agree with him on some level. Nanami still respects him, Shoko worries about him, Gojo too. Because they know where he's coming from. His end goals are stupid but the starting- getting tired of being exploited and being forced to watch everyone you know and love die for ZERO credit or help, is exhausting. No one pushes back because no one can wholeheartedly oppose the root of his problems and they don't WANT to. If Geto isn't listening, and a good chunk of the adult sorcerers who can speak with him don't want to, what's the point of forcing an engagement? We as the audience know why he's wrong, it doesn't need to be spelled out in a conversation with Geto specifically. There are other parts of the story that engage with the argument itself, but Geto isn't present. Ultimately, the ideology is refuted very thoroughly by Kenjaku, Yuki and Gojo! In the anime episode where Yuuji got his heart-ripped out and is in Shoko's office about to be examined, Gojo tells Ijichi "hey, I could just kill everyone and do what I want but that's inefficient. what I can do instead is build a good, strong community of sorcerers who use trust and teamwork to change the system from within" or smthg like that. That's Gojo refuting Geto's way of working. Yuuta does say "hey back off stop hurting my friends" but like, it's obvious he's also talking about every other non-sorcerer, he's just using his friends as a launch-point. The movie shows Maki specifically because we've built an emotional connection to her, so the idea of a character we and the MC knows personally dying puts into perspective the devastation of Geto's plans. It's hard to understand the effects of killing every non-sorcerer- the scale is too big(it's why kids shows can say "we're ending the universe!" but not "I'm going to rip your mother apart limb from limb", one feels worse), so we concentrate it on one person and now we can imagine the horror every other person will feel.
Geto doesn't give pushback It's because he doesn't give a shit what others think. If you wanna join, go ahead, if you don't, well he doesn't care to convert you. Even with Yuuta, on the surface it looks like recruitment but his final plan is killing Yuuta to get Rika. He didn't even seem serious in his talk with Yuuta. Geto doesn't argue being like "hey MY way is the high way" because sorcerers aren't his final enemy. They can believe whatever they want, as long as they don't get in his way. He lets his cult members and his daughters engage with non-sorcerers and doesn't push his ideologies on them. He doesn't engage with non-sorcerers because their opinions mean nothing to him. Geto's oddly lax about his ideologies(hence the split in his cult family on whether they should respect Geto's body as Kenjaku or follow his ideals, if Geto was stricter this wouldn't even be in question). There's also the fact that Geto's self-aware enough to know that his goals are fucking ridiculous. It's why he doesn't ask Gojo to join him, or even Shoko. Isn't it odd that he points out that Gojo's very capable of following through Geto's plans, but Geto doesn't ask his bff4ever to even consider this? Gojo ASKS him "hey explain yourself" but Geto chooses not to. He's thinking of himself as this martyr who's gonna go on this dangerous, impossible path to create a world where the people he loves, the sorcerers, are safe. His cult, his ideologies, it didn't make him happy. He thought this is the sacrifice that needed to be made and he was willing to bear the burden. His ideologies are like his power; they put him above others by destroying him.
The rest is OP expressing they dislike his character and that's cool, that's their choice and me liking him or contesting this is not to change their minds, just to....idk engage with this because I think it's fun.
I like Geto because of these things. I'm reasoning all this but I know he's evil, irredeemable, but I think he's a prime example of how selflessness can go horribly wrong when you don't engage and communicate. We see how lonely he is, how isolated the JJK society makes their sorcerers. Perhaps this lack of communication and engagement with his ideologies with Geto himself in-story is intentional- I think it is because the manga's all about love and loneliness when it comes to the special grades, the distance power creates.
Thanks for the ask Anon, I think it's best to ignore people who dislike characters we like, it's always going to drive us around in circles trying to discredit or disprove them XDXD(I did this with Jiang Cheng from Mo Dao Zu Shi, and it was really draining after a while).
Geto my belove pookie princess criminal!

Battle on the Sugoroku Board - Epilogue 2
Tumblr media
(Location: “Battle on the Sugoroku Board” program set)
(10 minutes later)
Tsumugi: —What happened, Director-san? You’re looking pale?
Ahaha. Now that you mention it, your phone’s been ringing for a while now, hasn’t it.
I wonder, if the participants who aren’t supposed to lose are losing, then NETV’s people’s phones would be ringing endlessly.
I think it’d be fine to ignore them. Right now, it’s your job to make the program interesting♪
…… If you go on like this, you won’t be able to work in the industry again, will you? Is that really true?
Surely, when “Battle on the Sugoroku Board” is broadcast— it’ll catch the eyes of many people, I think.
In that case, what will the viewers think if they see the current developments? I think we’ll be praised for using our wits and resisting.
Even if there’s circumstances where ES idols are favored by the industry, isn’t it sad to see Natsume-kun and the others now?
It’s more fun than catching glimpses of the program’s true circumstances.
This big turnaround happened because you worked sincerely hard on your production work. The last person to evaluate it is the one who sees that workmanship.
That’s why— I don’t know what other people will say. I, at least, appreciate your work.
“Battle on the Sugoroku Board.” It was a very fun program♪
…… Any time now, NewDi Team and CosPro Team will meet up.
They wanted to use all their gold and support items in a three-on-three battle. It’s a perfect match for “Battle on the Sugoroku Board”’s finale.
Let’s watch it through to the end. I think it would be best to explain what’s happening to the people at NETV later♪
Natsume: FuU…… We managed to defeat thEM.
It truly was a fight to the deaTH. It was a victory we were able to obtain by using up all our wits and iteMS.
Madara: Nice work, Arashi-san.
Arashi: Ufufu. I never thought I’d roll an “18” with the “Triple Dice” and win big. Maybe it’s because of my excellent habits♪
Natsume: If anything, we were saved by the design of the “dice battLES.”
Support items with “Dice” in the name can’t be stackED— it was a relief to see that the idols instructed to fix the match were unable to use multiple iteMS.
If they had used “Triple Dice” or “Loaded DiCE,” we wouldn’t have been able to compete with thEM.
NoW, all that’s left is CosPro TeAM—
After defeating the match fixing idols to the east and weST, we obtained an unused “Detection Satellite”— an item that displays the enemy’s GPS.
They were probably planning on using this and the “Disappearing Mantle” to successfully escape until the final stagES. They’ve got no use for it anyway, so I’ll be glad to use iT.
FufU. LoOK, there’s three GPS signals coming towards uS. It’s probably the CosPro TeAM.
Madara: Looks like they did it. It’s amazing that the CosPro Team also survived under these circumstances.
Arashi: There don’t seem to be any other GPS signals left. At this rate, it seems like it’ll be a one-on-one fight in the end.
Like we discussed before, it’ll be a fair three-on-three battle at the end, and the one who wins two will be the winner— is that right?
Natsume: YeS. As expected, doing a winner-takes-all matCH in this situation would get us nowheRE.
In the end, let’s play a fair team matCH.
As I was sayiNG, it looks like they’ve arrivED.
Tumblr media
Ibara: If it isn’t Natsume-kun! We’ve finally done it!
We had two people on our side, so it was quite a struggle. How are you faring?
Natsume: YeS, I feel greAT. Since we’ve come this far, there’s no need to guess what’s going on behind the scenES.
In the eND, I just want to have fun and not think about anythiNG.
Ibara: I see. Since we’re here at the end, let’s enjoy the “Dice Battle” without holding anything back!
I’m also in a great mood now that I’ve been able to administer a good scolding to troublesome coworkers! It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to forget about work and have fun……☆
Arashi: Ufufu. The two of them are getting excited. …… Then, I guess I’ll battle with Yuuta-chan♪
Yuuta: Eh? Me?
Arashi: Yes. We got caught up in a lot of adult stuff today. Besides, we hardly talk to each other, don’t we?
Sometimes I want to play with younger children, so I’d be happy if I could do so with you♪
Of course, I’m not going to lose easily. How about we use all of the items we’ve acquired so far to compete?
Yuuta: Fufu. Then I'll use “Triple Dice” as well. Let’s finish this to the bitter end♪
I also have a “Reroll Card” and “Substitute Doll!” Since I’ve made it here, I’m going to fight with cheat-class items♪
Madara: Hahaha. Maybe it’s because of the match-fixing, but everyone seems to be using items as they please. It’s a big treat♪
Shall we leftovers fight it out, Rinne-san?
Rinne: Alright, I’ll take you up on it!
I was just thinking that we didn’t get to have enough fun♪ Let’s enjoy it ‘til the end♪
It’s an all or nothing do-or-die match between all six members!
Natsume and Ibara: The dice rolls a—!

ok jjk 221 lets get into it
mixed feelings on the unboxing. it was hilarious how unserious they all were and i didn't actually care that much because i love seeing all of them together <3 shoko <3 momo <3 kirara <3 maki <3 miwa <3 hakari <3 hana <3 lowkey i missed inumaki too. twas nice!! but the tone shift was really weird, i was hoping it would be more high stakes than that and it really feels like theyre going back to the 'let gojo handle it' mindset which. feels very much against the point considering the last thought we had from him before the culling game was 'i have faith in all of them.' its like nothing has changed since then.
it's also really weird that nothing has really been said about tengen. all of their actions have been pointing towards them being very untrustworthy and on their own side, and it just so happened that their goals at the time aligned with yuki and co's, but there's just been nothing. it feels very anticlimactic. they knew that gojo could have possibly died upon being unsealed and said nothing, they could've ended the culling game at the beginning and said nothing. like it goes back to yuki getting really mad at them back in ch 201 i think and then just going along with the plan and dying. it feels like there's no point, no fanfare, nobody cares about the really important parts. it feels like tengen's existence was unimportant and pushed aside despite their actions and existence being the reason (or helping the reason) why jujutsu society is so shitty?? idk if this makes a lot of sense but even their conversation with kenjaku in the last chapter... it just feels like tengen means nothing. that's annoying. but anyway
gojo's unboxing was so unserious but i hoped maybe he would go a little berserk when he was actually out. the ripped jacket was cool and i wish gege kept it, that wouldve fucked so hard but he's still suffering the disease of making his men buff when they shouldn't be :/ whatever i guess. up until sukuna showed up it really did seem as if he was going to go berserk which i was so here for!!! especially since the angel was kind of hyping it up. alas it was not to be 😔 which is annoying!!! at least we got a your mom joke? but anyway!! im glad at least gojo vs sukuna is happening first because its not as if kenny really wanted to fight him anyway unless some bullshit with their technique happens like last time with yuki. which would be stupid. but also im not sure how i feel about this upcoming battle though. it would tie back to the 'six eyes and ten shadows killed each other in the past' but one, it feels way too soon for that, and two, i think with the way gojo said 'you? a loser that had to run away from yuuji?' is hinting towards another conflict between sukuna and yuuji. i have many thoughts about this and i'll probably derail later so let's bookmark it here *
gojoken fight would be kind of stupid because if theyre leaving it all to gojo (😐) he would probably just one-shot them. realistically. yuuta coming to fulfill his promise to kill gojo's best friend for him would feel better personally because then his words would actually hold weight lmao and maybe he'll die too!! if gege is continuing his pattern of getting rid of the special-grades (unless he's only getting rid of the adult special-grades which is 😐but whatever!!!) yuuta doesn't really serve a purpose in the story rn anyway besides being gojo's temporary replacement so it wouldn't be a pointless loss either. especially if such a fight would show gojo that his students dont need to depend on him and they have grown in his absence. like he had faith in them to when he first got boxed!! though in that case maybe yuuta's death wouldn't be the best way to express that. unless kids like hakari and maki picked up the slack. idk. my thoughts are a mess rn bear with me here 🙏
* ok so in the last panel too gojo says that he'll win and sure, he could, because sukuna's not even at full strength yet. it makes me wonder where the other five fingers are since if they kill each other wouldn't it be a little pointless if sukuna was missing some fingers? you'd have to get rid of the rest of him through yuuji and that would be stupid. bookmarking this for later also * but anyway!! the game is changed now since sukuna has the ten shadows technique and knows how to use it better than megumi can so theres likely a real chance gojo would get hurt. maybe he'll even lose an eye this time and live to tell the tale considering hana and inumaki got to live (but then again are they really characters in the story anymore? 💀) if he did get hurt that would make it easier for a students vs kenjaku fight to take place as well
and about yuuji. sukuna's not 'running' from yuuji because he's scared but i'm sure that he's wary at least. there was that comment: 'right, this brat is from back then...' which was ambiguous in its meaning (im pretty sure he was saying 'this brat has been strong since back then [pre-sukuna]' or something like that but the possibility of some heian stuff going on is equally interesting!! and weird!!) but yeah. and its not as if being trapped in yuuji was a very convenient place to be anyway. gojo was probably just taunting him saying he was running from yuuji but he is wary of him at least!! especially since he's so sturdy or whatever. so i hope that between gojo vs sukuna someone gets hurt or dies because i think another fight between yuuji and sukuna would be a nice wrapping up. yuuji's active involvement with jujutsu started with sukuna and it would be cool to end it with him, too
not only that but there's also the whole 'if you die i'll kill you' 'so start by saving me, itadori' 'i have a few suggestions about how we can save fushiguro' thing thats going on between yuuji and megumi. we all know it so i guess i won't say it but that's more fuel for the sukuna vs yuuji fight right
* i think gojo is going to lose. if not against sukuna then he's going to lose against something. i'm torn between not feeling great about 'leave it all to gojo' and the adults' feelings that kids shouldn't have to take on adult problems but i think he's going to lose against someone and then the kids will fight so we can have both perspectives? the confidence with which he says 'i will win', the history between six eyes and ten shadows, the one-eye imagery in official arts combined with the weird timing and tone of his unboxing feel like they're spelling defeat but i'm just wondering how it's all going to tie in. like what order are these events going to happen? who's going to do what? how's this going to play out? which isn't even theorizing that's just waiting for the next chapter to come out kldehwjakfdjzhs since gege has dashed all my hopes and expectations. don't even know whos going to die anymore. but whatever!!
this ended up being very long 💀 if i've said anything that was immediately obvious sorry lmao

Chapter 44 really was amazing!✨️
The Sukuna POV was an emotional rollercoaster except the rollercoaster is on fire and everone is screaming. He is so mentally unstable... Sugur might have won their fight, but Sukuna is winning the "my POV is a mental breakdown" contest (not much of a victory). Like he asks Yuuji if he thinks there is more beneath the surface and expect "no" because he knows how he presents himself and is not even willing to aknowledge that peaople are wrong??? He wants to be a one dimensional charicature so bad... Yikes.
Also he has such theatre kid energy! Everything is a performance with him in such a delightfully devastating way! Giving everyone nicknames to pretend that he doesn't know their names, only for Yuuji to call him out on the fact that he knows who Megumi is? Iconic. Defending the throne of skulls? Peak evil former theatre kid moment.
Sukuna really is putting a lot of effort into this act as a demon with a god complex. Quite a tiring act to hold onto for a millennium... He seems to be aware that he uses his god complex to hide his true feelings when he is lying to others, but when it comes to lying to himself using his persona as King of Curses he seems willfully oblivious. Or at least he was until Suguru used Divine Judgement on him and forced him to face himself and the fact that he is miserable and anyone with enough emotional intelligence sees him as miserable (like Yuuji), not as a god/vengeful spirit/demon crawling from hell/whatever else.
The fact that Yuuki knows that Sukuna is miserable but doesn't want to empathise with him is so... fair enough from Yuuji, like my poor sweet sunshine child deserves to be mad for everything Sukuna did to him and Toge, but also I am reluctantly annoyed because Kenjaku would be so smug about this and he doesn't deserve any second of enjoyment in life.
The new deal Yuuji made with Sukuna is certainly something. Also Sukuna panicking about dying even if he blames it on Yuuji, but also thinking (or refusing to think) that he will finally die is so interesting. King of having emotional inteligence but never using it to deal with his own emotions (valid).
Sukuna thinking about Yuuji's grandfather's last words and how certain he is that they are about him. That will be a devastating revelation, especially for poor Yuuji who just got the world's worst roomate living in his head. Kenjaku should have gotten hit by Mahito with that car.
The fact that Sukuna would have hugged him (even if he denies it to himself)? Peak sad wet poor little meow meow behavior.
"Can you writhe in agony a little quieter?" —> I would say Yuuji killed him with this, if not for "That once upon a time, someone loved you."
The "Don't leave me" that Sukuna will ignore because he is unstable and wants to only have 3 emotions.
I laughed out loud for a full minute at the crocodile story, I can't believe Sukuna randomly decided to help with that. "You limited yourselves with this esoteric plot"🤣 The kids going along with the story he invented too! Sukuna seems like someone that was fond of art, maybe once he gets over the whole being evil thing he can use that one minute he got from the deal to write poetry or something. Yuuji is also fond of drawing and stories now that I think about it. He is also emotionally intelligent like Sukuna. Definetly a weird coincidence.🤔
Sukuna being impressed? by the fact that Shoko would eat an entire tray of cupcakes meant for her children was kind of cute. "Good for her" —> I agree, she deserves it.
Yuuta hearing that Toge was hurt and instantly deciding to move to his school and abandon the "homeschooled by a former cult leader" life, peak gay behavior. You really managed to show his intensity and his progress with that decision.
"The fuck is wrong with you, by the way? You're cursed or something?" —> King of Curses and King of Tact and approaching sensitive subjects with care and understanding.
Poor Megumi? My boy is going through it.
The Tsumiki and Nobara friendship!✨️I am so happy you decided to give Tsumiki an arc! Nobara seeing that the perfect Tokyo girl also has problems of her own is so good for her. Tsumiki seeing that you can be combative and still have friends will be nice for her as well. They can learn so much from each other!✨️
Satoru finally meets his other kids! I am so happy for him and his horrible highlighter clothes. Yuuta even called him dad!✨️The Geto kids joining the training sessions will be good for them, especially Nanako and Mimiko who still need to let go of the stuff Suguru taught them in his post kfc breakup era.
"Satoru slips on his vivid shoes. They’re not so bad once you get used to them! Yuuta’s eyes are totally numb now." Forget killing a little girl for money, Toji's worst act clearly was telling Satoru that orange should be his favorite color encouraging him to wear eye burning neon everywhere.
Satoru's dented traffic cone fashion taste 🤝 Suguru's horrible knitting skills
i am so happy you liked it!! SADFGHJK i feel like sukunas entire EXISTENCE is an emotional rollercoaster, good god this man is a trainwreck. you’re so right, the rollercoaster is on fire, there are no seatbelts in sight, and it’s a never-ending vertical loop. he somehow has getou beat in the mental illness department, which is honestly a feat worthy of praise. or therapy. probably both. he asks questions he knows he’ll get the wrong answer to then gets hurt by those answers, but just keeps asking anyway for the twisted hope someone will see through his facade. he’s such a fucked up theater kid. it’s all a lie, it’s all a performance, but where does it end? how much of it has actually become his real identity in his pursuit to be perceived as such? i don’t think even sukuna knows.
you put it so well — he realizes he’s lying, but to some extent refuses to confront it: either by ignoring the contradictory turmoil inside him or embracing the fact that he’s a liar without acknowledging what he’s lying about. sukuna has a complex past with lying, and we’ll see more of it in his next pov as well as its origins when his backstory is revealed.
yuuji, my poor sweet sunshine. yeah, i agree that it sucks how kenjaku is right — at least at first. he was correct in believing yuuji would make sukuna fall apart, but, perhaps he hasn’t foreseen that yuuji could also be the only one who can put him back together…sukuna on some level realizes this, but he refuses to acknowledge it because that would require admitting he both wants and needs yuuji’s help. but you’re so right, he’s too sad and wet and pathetic to address it as things currently are.
so. that may take time. yuuji is still very resentful, and is having his beliefs challenged for the first time. their new binding vow certainly doesn’t help with it, especially since sukuna immediately antagonized yuuji with it and drove him away from his loved ones further. which of course means they’re stuck with just each other!! an interesting predicament, especially since sukuna wants yuuji’s attention so badly but gets hurt by yuuji every time he actually gets it. wow they’re a mess. god they make me unwell
sdfghjk sorry i always go off when it comes to yuuji & sukuna, they’re def in my top 5 favorite duos in the story. but wahh inuokko have my heart too <333 (though i guess both of them now have different surnames in this story….) yuuta is so accepting, and he finally feels like he understands someone else’s predicament for once, both relating to yuuji and megumi. and yet, both of them are distancing themselves from him and from their own feelings. yuuta has quite the task ahead of him for sure.
and so does nobara! proud of her for offering to help, and for accepting tsumiki’s imperfections, because it comes closer to her realizing even the dignified tokyo girls she admires are just people too.
i snorted at your last two comments lmao. so real, toji really encouraged gojo’s bad fashion in the sweetest yet worst way and now getou’s terrible knitting will make it worse. so happy for all of them.
thanks for reading!!!

Can I ask your opinion on a few things about Gojo and Geto :
- So is he (Gojo) really not feel anything with Amanai and Haibara's death?
- How can Gojo not realizing Geto's depression (is it because he always sent on solo missions)?
- I read somewhere that Geto's act to kill all the villagers is because Yuki's words (as if to blame her), and I was like wtf (?)
-If Geto not become a curse user, can he become a sorcerer like Yuki (just do whatever they want and not listening to the elders)?
- Do you think adult Geto can win against Toji?
- "Suguru had earned his status, being one of the most powerful sorcerers in the age, no student would have been able to beat him. Even Yuuta wouldn’t have won if Suguru was at his full battle potential, there was no way first-year students would have won against him if he hadn’t gone easy on them." I read this somewhere, do you agree?
1. I think when Gojo thinks about it he is sad but he's essentially a god. He sees everything, experiences infinity and sees that their lives are a small spec in the cosmos. It's got to be hard to deal with that. I don't think it's that he's unfeeling, he even says sorry but in that moment he can't be mad at anything when he's high AF on all that power.
2. I think that's literally it. Like when he sees him he mentions he looks skinny but I think he also trusts Geto to talk to him, or at least he thinks he can trust Geto to do that. I think it did completely blindside him and he regrets that always.
3. I don't think that was Yuki's intention I think Geto was already broken and seeing the girls treated that way was the catalyst against humanity. Yuki says that idea is not doable but Geto goes with it anyway. I think he latches more onto what Toji says than anything else. Before that fight he talks about protecting non sorcerers, then once Toji has taken everything away from him it's "monkeys"
4. I think if Geto and Gojo had worked it out he would have become a teacher which breaks my heart because he would have been SO good!!!
5. Honestly its hard to say. By 0 he had a 1000 curses so possibly? I'd love to see it.
6. This is interesting because Yuta DOES win so is that a testament to Yutas strength or Geto's? I think if it was against Megumi etc Geto would win. I LOVE the way he fights in 0 so it would be fascinating to see him against Nobara and Yuji.
Oh what could have been!!!!

I don’t see this as overly negative, just not really based in text and kinda inconsistent and kinda biased against Yuuji.
May I have a friendly reminder that Yuji has been handcrafted by Kenjaku himself, getting a Heavenly Restriction level of strength with also being able to use CE as a default of his strength?
Yuuji couldn’t use CE as default, he had to learn it. Eating the finger was a trigger for him unlocking CE. When he was in a life or death situation fighting the finger bearer in the detention centre, it gave him nothing. He landed a hit reinforced with cursed energy and it did exactly nothing. And he couldn’t do it again without Gojou’s guidance. In an analogous situation in the school, Yuuta just takes off his ring and Rika rips the curse to shreds.
You could say that Yuuji switches with Sukuna and Sukuna rips the finger bearer to shreds. The difference is that Yuuta saves the day with no consequences. Yuuji dies and feels guilty for Sukuna almost killing Megumi.
This is actually a parallel moment between them, showing more mature writing from Gege. Yuuji doesn’t get a creepy but devoted monster he can unleash to save himself and everyone else, he can’t reason with his monster to control him, he has no emotional control over Sukuna.
We also don’t exactly know how much Kenjaku handcrafted and how it was just left to chance. The way Sukuna speculates in the recent chapter, it feels like Mother had tried to make babies with the twin over and over again, likely due to the uncertain nature of CT inheritance in the JJK world. It’s likely that Yuuji was the first one who was born with it, maybe because Kenjaku used the knowledge they gained through the Death Paintings experiments and they managed to force him inheriting the technique, or maybe that helped with Yuuji getting the special body, but your comment also dismisses the fact that Yuuji’s creation took Kenjaku a millennium of plotting and hard work, while Yuuta just randomly got born like that.
Anyway, when Yuuji finally learns to control his CE through movie watching, his output isn’t that high. It’s a bit above average, according to Nanami, he calls it potential.
We don’t really know the exact progress of Yuuta because Gege wasn’t as detailed with dates in Zero. But his every fight ends in an unquestionable win for him with no drawbacks. He saves everyone he wants to save, his enemy is categorically defeated.
Gege even doesn’t make Yuuta struggle with the need to finish off Getou. Everyone else Rika had killed before was out of Yuuta’s control, he felt guilty about it, but he had no understanding what was going on or how to prevent it. Granted it also speaks to his passivity because it doesn’t seem that he’d tried to properly negotiate with Rika prior to getting into Juju Tech. But with Getou, Gege leaves that to Gojou. Yuuta doesn’t have to consciously make the decision to kill another human.
Yuuji doesn’t get this kind of easy treatment. Yuuji has to deal with killing humans: the transfigured ones, the Death Paintings. Then deal emotionally with the deaths of all the people his monster kills because he can’t tame that monster. And it all weighs on him.
________________________
The entire deal with CT is that you get those by chance of genetic, but only a CT and not everything else that comes as being a sorcerer (i.e reinforcement, speed, other techniques) Is much like how Itadori get's to hit a black flash and instantly becomes more proficient with his CE, or how Sukuna can copy any other techniques and has over twice the cursed energy of Yuta, is something that they simply have over their abilities got by chance
Yuuta’s cursed technique is literally Copy without any drawbacks (I think Gege tried to add some rules to it in the recent chapters but I’m not too sure). And Yuuta literally genetically has his broken CT, his CE that he says is higher than Gojou’s, but Gojou can use his more efficiently due to the Six Eyes so he will theoretically never run out.
Sukuna can’t simply copy techniques of others. He took over Megumi’s body and learned how to use the Ten Shadows better than Megumi. He uses Max Elephant to imitate Piercing Blood with the water attack. Makora invented the reality slicing for Sukuna, that was the whole purpose of that exercise, so Sukuna could learn a way to kill Gojou.
I even consulted with @cursedvibes (he’s a saint) and he confirmed what I remembered from the manga:
The Black Box or the fire technique could be copied, but he must have some strong limitations and conditions to fulfill or we would've seen him use it more often. We never actually saw him copy any CT. He could use RCT on his CT similar to Gojo and learned to turn himself into a cursed object, but that's not copying and not CTs
I personally don’t think Sukuna was just born with that much CE. He could've had a lot but Sukuna has mastered jujutsu, he is actually a nerd. Everything he knows, his power, it comes from his analytical approach. He has a level of knowledge about jujutsu that maybe Kenjaku or Tengen had. It’s very apparent in how he fights and constantly analyses everything that happens to him. He’s much older than Yuuta and clearly devoted his life to studying jujutsu.
And I just want to point out that Yuuji’s creation, all the genetic benefits he has are a violation. His bodily autonomy was repeatedly violated, his whole life and his body exist only to further Kenjaku’s plans. Even Gojou’s birth was orchestrated by Tengen, though much less directly than what Kenjaku does with Yuuji. While Yuuta just got born like that, no outside interference, no messing with fate.
________________________
That being already said, Yuta has been trained for over a year oversees by Migiel, and we see that his training paids off from his reinforcement no longer breaking up what he uses to developing a domain and learning about sorcery Yuji biggest trainings on screen are his tunning from watching movies and getting punched, and getting Todou teachings in the first try. The biggest training Yuji has ever done was offscreened in a whole month were he got blood manipulation from eating the cursed wombs (something he could only do because of his special body), learned RCT, and expanded even more his CE reinforcement all in the span of a single month
Can you please point me to the on screen training of Yuuta? If you’re going to use this against Yuuji, then Yuuta’s training on screen should be very thorough. In Zero, after 3 months of physical training when his body was very weak before, Yuuta can do somersaults in the air with his katana he doesn’t get hurt at all in the fight in the shopping centre. Yuuji, despite his stronger body and fighting experience, gets hit and hurt a lot during his fights.
During the fight with Getou, Yuuta gets seriously hit once, on the head and the jaw. Rika catches him and he gets right back into the ring. Despite Getou being a seasoned special grade with more than one curse at his disposal that he can attack and confuse Yuuta with.
In the first fight against Mahito, Yuuji gets hit by Mahito’s attacks repeatedly, Mahito manages to overpower Yuuji at times. At the end of the fight Yuuji faints from his injuries. Yes, his body is special but it has its limits.
Yuuta learned RCT on the spot, like literally during the fight with Getou, and the harder version too, one that lets him heal others…
I think Yuuji gets the black flash on the second try, but I’m just being petty ;)
And again, there are no drawbacks to Yuuta’s development. He never sacrifices anything, no injury, not death of someone who matters to him. He never kills his family. He doesn’t have to eat his family, preventing them from ever being born.
And he doesn’t lose anything by letting Rika go. It kinda goes against the whole give and take of jujutsu. His CE doesn’t drop, he doesn’t lose the techniques stored in the og Rika. He still has a Rika to help him out, that isn’t much weaker or less independent than the og one.
@/cursedvibes summed it up like this when we talked while I was writing this post (sometimes we have the same thought XD):
Even Gojo had a learning curve. He was strong from birth, but to take on a weakened Toji he had to improve himself. We see more of Gojo struggling and developing his talents than we ever get for Yuuta. Also, we don't necessarily need training arcs. With most characters we see them develop in a fight. Megumi creating his domain, Yuuji needing the help of Choso to use Piercing Blood and control his RCT (showing that it's not all natural, you have to know what you want to heal for it to work), Yuuji developing Black Flash when pushed to the brink like with any other sorcerer, Maki needing to understand her own body again and how her Heavenly Restriction works. Yuuta never had any of that. He just does things and succeeds. Sukuna's fight, the final fight, is the only time he ever got seriously hurt and lost, otherwise he's just breezing through the story unbothered by anything.
________________________
Saying that one character is less than other because they got "gifted everything" is a little dishonest seeing that even Yuji himself is where he stands from being a special case from the very start
Yuuta is also born very special, like Gojou. And he didn’t even need a near death experience like Gojou to unlock a better version of RCT than Gojou learned on the brink of death. And things Gojou unlocked then were paid for in the death of Riko, in the evolution of Tengen and Getou’s defection. All having disastrous consequences. Both for Gojou personally and the world.
This is how the story gifts everything to Yuuta. There are no negative consequences to his actions. There’s no cost to his power ups, he doesn’t give up anything by releasing Rika.
Yuuji is a special case from the start and it only brings him suffering. He gets repeatedly brutalised, breaks down mentally, dies, loses people dear to him. Starts dehumanising himself, thinks of himself as a cog, as insignificant. And throughout the jujutsu world most people don’t see him as a person, he’s Sukuna’s vessel.
Where Yuuta’s journey is the opposite, he finds friends and gets taught he matters, granted he uses them as a crutch for his self worth, but his journey is from being suicidal to believing he matters.
Even how you talk about Yuuji is kinda instrumental and dehumanising. You're not as bad as the rest of the fandom, but you ascribe everything that Yuuji is or can do to outside forces, to Kenjaku, Sukuna to the Death Paintings he consumed. You never mention the emotional journey he goes through. You refuse to treat any training he does as valid as Yuuta's training, even though Yuuji actually gets instructions on how to do most of the things he can do on screen, from other characters. While Yuuta just figures out how to use Copy or RCT. And you never acknowledge that Yuuta was born special. He comes into Juju Tech as a special grade for goodness sake.
________________________
And "Yuta gets to kill Kenjaku without putting an effort on his part" was the entire plan, they even mention how Maki could've done it but doing so would mean not dealing with the curses They simply talked the intelligent method of taking Kenjaku by surprise and don't waste energy before fighting against the strongest sorcerer in the setting
Yuuta could’ve at least wasted time on the curses, and Maki is more than capable of dealing with the curses, she’s been doing much better against Sukuna than Yuuta did. (Which is no surprise, both her and Yuuji had to understand themselves much better than Yuuta himself to unlock their potential)
Momo could’ve helped with the curses, Noritoshi could’ve, are Gakuganji and Utahime dead? I don’t think so. Gege could’ve brought Nobara back for that, we saw how good she is at crowd control in the detention centre. Hell, Gege has handled Uro really poorly so far, so they could’ve had Yuuta grovel to her for help, like he grovelled in front of Miguel. I mean that would’ve been in line with how shitty their previous interaction was.
Honestly, anything other than just poof and it’s all okay.
Even Sukuna’s really well planned out and eventually successful strategy for killing Gojou had risk attached to it. He had to work hard for it.
Nah, Yuuta just gets to have his “goat” moment. Gege has really given up on writing Yuuta after Zero. Like Gege has clearly lost their heart for JJK a while ago, but they really had nothing for Yuuta, apart from Yuuta just having “goat” moments. I truly don’t get why Yuuta was brought back instead of developing other characters.
Tumblr media
This image right here is the perfect illustration of the difference between Yuuji and Yuuta, it almost feels like a 4th wall break.
Yuuji has been working real hard ever since he became a sorcerer, he's survived hellish situation after hellish situation, lost so many people he cared about. And he made tremendous progress.
Yuuta was born with a hereditary ridculously overpowered technique and immense amounts of cursed energy. His playground girlfriend died and that was traumatic especially that she stayed with him and hurt people on his behalf even though he didn't want her to. But once he became a sorcerer that got very quickly resolved. Yuuta miraculously learned every technique he needed in the moment to save his friends, or cure them and himself, or to win against his enemies by just overpowering them. And then he killed Kenjaku without putting any work of his own into that.
So yeah, Yuuji has worked hard and persevered and has been disrespected and ignored for it both in the story and by the fandom. Yuuta's been given everything, even techniques and page time of other characters and congratulated for it.

why did geto do so much of what he did in volume 0, it was hilarious but,
#like him announcing his plans and blatantly pointing out how gojo isn’t stopping him#did he actually mean for all the students to die or is gojo right at all in saying he trusted geto not to kill them?#did geto genuinely expect to win?? kenjaku said he could’ve but kenjaku is also. smarter than geto when it comes to planning#feel like he had to hope to win with how he acted at yuuta#but it’s hard to tell if he was overconfident or just okay with taking a risk that could likely end with him dying#looking forward to seeing how the movie delves into everything really#some parts are a lot less fleshed out or slightly different from the main story#I don’t think geto has to change at all but if he doesn’t I hope there’s more on him and his family to connect more easily to the main story#the movie is either going to be mostly accurate with added fights/etc#or it could completely change since it was pre planning jjk#I am hoping for more of the Cult™️ family since Laure is with Yuki in the main story and the rest appear in shibuya/various panels#there’s also the Kyoto students and Tokyo third years and yuutas technique training which could all possibly show up#it’s kinda fun this movie could be the vol 0 Gege would write if it was made post jjk starting#(saying this while not knowing how involved he is at all with details and plot or if he wants to change things)#jjk vol 0#posting this year so I can look back after vol 0 sorry to my 10 followers who have to see this#watch as my questions are directly answered in the chapters but I just forgot#it’s wild going from kenjakus major plan throughout the story then going to whatever getos plan was to win in vol 0#😔 got beat up by a kid

Hello, I'm new to the jujutsu fandom, I've already watched season 1 of the movie and I'm in season 2 of jujutsu, I also follow the jujutsu manga, I liked your tumblr and started following you, I like your analyzes and you make me understand more jujutsu, thank you. I have a question, don't you think Sukuna is a boring villain, sorry, but he's too annoying, even Mahito is more interesting than him and it's impressive that Mahito gave more weight to the work than Sukuna, Sukuna killed Gojo and his death It had no significance in the work, it's something terrible, I think the author got lost.
Ah thank you so much! Glad the blog could add to the JJK experience!
Personally, I am getting a little tired of Sukuna never being phased. I'd understand his constant victories if we got more insight into his Cursed Technique but we still have no explanation for what he is and how he came to be, very little Sukuna info has been unlocked since the beginning so it feels kind of frustrating for me.
I can't tell what the author is thinking, but I think the number of deaths is getting to us as readers. People just keep on losing and dying with little impact on those that are alive. Deaths had a huge impact at the start of the story. Like S1, Junpei's death shook Yuuji so bad that he entirely changed his way of thinking. But he only knew Junpei for like a day. So when characters like Nanami, Nobara, Gojo and many more people that Yuuji has known for months die, I think equal levels of impact is expected on Yuuji.
But that doesn't happen.
We don't know Yuuji's mental state after witnessing his teacher die. The excessive focus on fights without slowing down to let the characters grieve or process what they've seen is likely impacting how we see Sukuna, his fights, and his powers.
Like why wasn't Yuuji freaking out more when Higurama died? What was he really going through when he saw Higurama and got reminded of Nanami? A moment's pause, just focused on the grief of that could up the stakes and make Sukuna, if not interesting, at least someone we can hate more.
Emotions and character interactions are what gives a story stakes. We care that Gojo died not only because he's the only person who can stand up against Sukuna, but also because he is someone we connected with emotionally from S1. His death will make characters we love devastated.
When you take away the emotion, the sense of loss and don't show that, the fights become boring. Yuuji's still moving and seems to hold the same attitude as the beginning of Culling Games while fighting Sukuna right now after witnessing multiple deaths.
You could say he's hardened his heart and has gone numb to everything but that's speculation as readers, it'd be way more meaningful if we see Yuuji falling into that kind of state, or be shown to have some kind of emotion and reaction.
My one big critique for JJK is pacing. It's fight after fight after fight. Okay, bad take when the manga is literally called "Sorcery Fight" but I am no stranger to manga/anime entirely focused on fighting (I've read a weirdly high amount of martial arts and hand to hand combat manga). Even in most fight-centric stories, we get breaks, we get characters talking to each other. Like how come we STILL haven't gotten a proper, extended interaction between Yuuji and Yuuta that isn't a fight? Has Yuuji even spoken to Maki? How does Ino feel about Choso?
I think it's why I enjoyed the Yuki v Kenjaku fight more. The fight was interspersed with moments of character interaction.
No stakes and impact makes it boring. Sukuna's the most dangerous villain now and he keeps defeating people without proper explanation or faltering in any real way so like, why would we care? Sukuna's going to win against anyone that isn't Yuuji, so what's the point? It used to be fun for me to try to understand how Sukuna does the things he does. I still enjoy watching him beat the shit outta people but i do admit it's getting tiring.
Sure, the CT and Domain expansions whenever an improvement is shown are very cool but it'd help if we could slow down a little and talk about the character interactions. Honestly Sukuna himself can remain a mystery but our MCs should get more backstory and emotional moments.

Battle on the Sugoroku Board - God Won’t Roll The Dice 8
Tumblr media
(Location: “Battle on the Sugoroku Board” program set)
Ibara: Is everyone familiar with the “Keynesian beauty contest?”
Yuuta: ………?
Ibara: Well, it has nothing to do with idols, so you wouldn’t know it.
It’s an analogy for the stock market. In the financial market, the value of a company—its stock price, is determined not by its performance or financial soundness, but by its popularity.
A contest where a vote is held to determine the most beautiful woman out of 100 participants, and a prize will be given to the person who votes for first place—
—When gambling on something like this, voters vote not for the woman they think is beautiful, but for the person they think is beautiful on average.
That’s what we call the Keynesian beauty contest.
If the Keynesian beauty contest were held in “Battle on the Sugoroku Board,” the popularity would probably be shared between the NewDi and CosPro teams.
Popularity has nothing to do with determining who wins or loses “Battle on the Sugoroku Board”…… But it is a consequence of it.
That’s why NETV is trying to let the idols from weaker agencies win, correct?
So they can gamble behind the scenes and profit greatly from the stakes.
Rinne: Oi…… Are we the targets of gambling!?
I’d rather join their side!!
Yuuta: This gambling addict is a worthless adult.
Rinne: Whaddya mean “worthless adult.” You have a weird way of speaking, don’t you.
But that doesn’t explain it. It’s true if an unpopular idol wins, they’ll make a lot of money.
Arashi: Natsume-chan said that may be why they brought in a shady director.
It’s been a while since he last worked. He couldn’t turn down the opportunity to produce a program, right?
Madara: As a result, he couldn’t escape from this evil deed.
However, NETV is a company that distributes programs overseas, so it’s not illegal is it?
Natsume: YeS. The headquarters is located in areas where gambling is legAL. In other worDS, what we’re trying to do is a matter of feeliNGS.
A matter of feelings—nO. It might be more accurate to call it a moral issUE.
Don’t involve us in that shitty “stagING.”
Don’t look down on idOLS.
…… Just for thAT, we’re fighting togethER.
Naturally, this’ll be a blow to those invested in NETV, like Ibara-kUN.
But you don't just see idols as pawns for your businesses, riGHT?
You just want to make monEY, I’m sure there’s better jobs out theRE.
Ibara: Hmm. Are you trying to appeal to compassion?
If they’re not breaking the law, then I have no obligation to cooperate.
In fact, if the company I’m invested in is trying to make money like that, then, from a manager’s perspective, I’m in luck♪
Tumblr media
Rinne: …… Oi.
Ibara: Oh! Don’t lose your temper!
Stable management also means that they can invest in the entertainment industry, where you don’t know whether it’ll hit or miss.
Profits are important for keeping idols alive when their asses are on the line.
In fact, because of this, no-name idols are being used. That fact is unshakable.
Natsume: I didn’t think you were that heartlESS. Negotiations have broken down— it looks like the NewDi team has no choice but to try our beST.
Ibara: Make no mistake, I’m not saying we won’t cooperate.
I merely told you the facts. There’s a strong will to fight together—but simply fighting together won’t solve this problem.
An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. If you’re hit with capital, you can fight back with capital. That’s how society fights.
If the gambling house is open for us, it’s a matter of joining the table.
For example, raising the bet—what if we raised the stakes?
Rinne: Raising the…… Heh, I getcha. We’re in for a do-or-die game.
Arashi: Don’t use gambling as an example. We’re still students, aren’t we?
Yuuta: Please explain more clearly, vice prez.
Ibara: Yes, yes. Don’t worry!
This is just a hypothetical. Do you know what would happen if a bet was being held in front of you, and the person you were betting on won via match-fixing?
You know that only those who know about the match-fixing will benefit immensely, right?
So, what if that match-fixing doesn’t work, and you fail?
Those who know about the match-fixing will be wiped out. The risk and return of match-fixing are balanced because the underdog targets win.
In other words, you do two things. Stop the match-fixing, and then bet big on another candidate.
We’re going to take back the match-fixing. I have a vision in my mind of everyone involved going out onto the streets, and they’d bet so much money that they would win that they’ll consider CosPro a threat!
If we do that, they’ll never gamble again. …… What do you all think? It’ll be quite enjoyable♪
Natsume: …… I’m stunnED. I wasn’t telling you to go that fAR.
Tumblr media
Ibara: Ahaha! That’s what it means to make an enemy out of me♪
Philanthropy! Fraternity! Benevolence!
A loving punishment for those who trampled on their love for idols……☆
Yuuta: Huh, your catchphrase changed!?
Ibara: I don’t know what you’re talking about? I’ve always had a love for idols?
Yuuta: Scaryyy…… This person’s really troublesome to make an enemy out of, huh.
Madara: I’ve accepted things like that up until now, so I think it’s fine to do whatever you like.
But, that gambling place—it’s open in secret and seems impossible to enter.
Even if it’s not a real place, but an online one.
Ibara: Well, I guess I’ll have to look into that now.
In order to ensure the fairness of the gambling, this program is probably broadcast in real time on a site that can’t be accessed from within Japan.
In fact, its real-time nature will support our plans. We can delay the response.
If we ask the complicit production director for information about the gambling parlour, he’ll tell us right away.
He seems to be talented, and just like Natsume-kun, he’s someone who just wants to make a “good program”—
“Staging” may also be accepted as part of the production.
This program, like NETV, is not pandering to existing forces. They want a program that supports the underdog…… And I think I can persuade them to do something like that.
And so, first, we contact His Majesty, who seems to be close to the staff.
If he can back it up, it’ll be the beginnings of a fun show♪
Let’s follow the example of Natsume-kun’s beloved Hibiki-shi and make it a fun event for us too!
Natsume: HmM, what kind of cruel drama (Grand Guignol)(1) are you planniNG? If you’re going to use Nii-san as a reference, you should be planning a comeDY.
Just don’t let your vice flourish. If you screw them, they’ll screw you baCK—and on that one point I’ll agree with yOU.
TL Notes:
A Grand Guignol is a play of macabre or horrific nature.

SPOILERS AHEAD.
So, I’ve had time to think on this more, and the conclusion I’ve come to is that Yuuta made it clear he knows that this is fucked up. Everyone was concerned about him, but he was the only one who called out how hypocritical it was that none of them seemed concerned about Gojo. He called them out for being fine with Gojo becoming a monster for the sake of their victory but not being willing to make sacrifices themselves.
One of my favorite things about Yuuta from the start has been his willingness to do what he feels needs to be done to protect the people he cares about. That’s what puts him on par with Gojo. Yuuta has never let his own beliefs or fears hold him back when he needs to fight. He said it himself, they’re up against the strongest jujutsu sorcerer in history and he’s willing to give up his own humanity to win.
This chapter emphasized just how fucked up their world truly is. It’s not a happy place. It’s not meant to get a happy ending. Yuuta knows he’s likely going to die. But again, that’s what puts him on par with Gojo. Whatever it takes to win. And I think it emphasizes that no matter who is in charge, no matter what happens, they really can’t escape how they’re all dispensable in the end.
I’ll admit, it made my heart ache to see Gojo say he didn’t care what happened to his body. I felt it in my chest, the sadness at seeing him so accepting of them using him even after he was dead. But again, it emphasized how fucked their world is. He said Yuuta was born under better circumstances, and I think he meant that Yuuta wasn’t born with the weight of the world on his shoulders from the moment he took his first breath. Gojo knew from his adolescence that he was only ever meant to be a weapon meant to protect others. He never saw himself as anything more. So to him, of course it makes sense that they’d continue using his body, the weapon, even after he died.
It’s sad. But it’s meant to be. It’s meant to be devastating. It’s meant to hurt. Because in the end, Gojo always knew he was nothing but a cog in the machine, just like Yuuji. Another thing that’s a bit frustrating to me is that I feel like this takes away from Yuuji’s power up, but at the same time, it’s also emphasizing Sukuna’s strength. He’s literally just so strong that they’re throwing everything they’ve got at him. Yuuta was meant to be the original MC, so I’m not completely mad that he’s getting another moment to shine, but I just… I’m torn. Idk man. Akutami has clearly been planning all this shit, and it’s clearly meant to be fucked up. I don’t think he’d argue that it’s not, but again, I think that’s the entire point.
That being said, I can’t really take much more, so if you need me, I’ll be in my corner with my canon while Gojo and Rinko enjoy their forever together.
Do you guys remember how I talked about Hunter x Hunter last week and what happened to Kite?
I don’t wanna say I can’t predict the future… I know it’s different but listen, Kite was used as a puppet and now Gojo’s body is also being used as a puppet. Someone help I can’t take off work tomorrow but I kinda need to now bc I made myself sad
