How do y'all actually make friends?

I can't seem to keep new friends around, I'll talk to someone and it seems like we have a lot in common and the conversation is amazing and then it always fizzles out before we even get a chance to try to meet, it's so frustrating! I really feel like my life could be improved by making some friends my age to hang out with some time, but I never can seem to find somebody that can match the effort I'm willing to put in to make a new friendship last!😞🤷
