Seven top things to do with hoverboards
Hopping and riding on top of a hoverboard is the new trend. It came about two decades ago. It is a trend that has lasted very long. It is still in fashion and it does not seem like it will go out of the trend anytime soon.
Have you recently bought yourself a new Segway hoverboard? Or perhaps you have bought one for a relative or for your child. Or maybe you are just reading this out of curiosity to learn more about hoverboards in general. It does not matter, whatever the case it might be.
Today you are going to learn about the top seven things that you must do with your hoverboard. It is very important to know everything that you can do with a new gadget that you bought. If you want to get the most out of something, then it is crucial to understand how a thing works. Having knowledge and understanding about something that you own or are interested in buying, never hurts!
So keep on reading and check out the top most things that you must do with your hoverboard or as we might call it, a Segway.
Top 7 things that you can do with your new hoverboard
Take Breaks and Give Breaks
Now you must be wondering what this phrase "take breaks and give break" means. Do not worry because we have got you. It means that hoverboards are small mini scooters. They are not like extremely powerful machines and vehicles. It is very easy for hoverboards to heat up. Especially during the summer season. It is not safe to drive or ride on a heated up hoverboard due to many reasons. Those reasons can be:
You hoverboard's battery can heat up and this can result in exploding.
Hoverboard battery heat up can result in a fire.
It can be dangerous for your well-being.
You hoverboard might stop working permanently if you use it too much.
You hoverboard can get damaged.
So what should you do?
You should let your hoverboard cool down fully before you try to put it on charging or using it. This way you will be able to manage your hoverboard and its battery in a good way. It sure is very important to buy very good quality of hoverboards made with good metals and premium material. But what is even more important is the fact that everything will go to a waste you do do not know how to do the maintenance of your hoverboard properly.
Keep an eye on the battery and the battery life of your hoverboard
Whenever you are about to go outside and have a ride on your cool new hoverboard, always make sure that it is charged fully. If it is not fully charged then it will damage the battery. One more thing that you should know to always keep in your mind is that always plug out the charged on time and do not overcharge your hoverboard or segway battery. Doing this can cause huge damage to the battery of your hoverboard and it can even burn or catch fire!
Clean and neatness
You always have to make sure that you always clean the tires of your hoverboard. You should always do this after you come back from a ride outside on the road. This way no dirt or other junk will get caught in the wheels of your hoverboard. If a lot of junk gets collected inside the wheels of your brand new segway then it might stop working properly.
Storage
you should have a look at what place you are storing your hoverboard in. If you do not need to use your segway for a long period of time and want to store it, then you should store it in a cool and dry place always. This way your hoverboard will not heat up and extra moisture will not get inside the battery of your hoverboard. The temperate of the place matters a lot.Â
Expertise
If you end up breaking your hoverboard, then never attempt to open up its screws and fix it all by yourself. Always consult an expert on this matter.
Have a look at the pedals of your segway from time to time
If one day you ride your hoverboard but it is not coming in a stable position, then it is an indicator that the pedals of your hoverboard are loose. Then in this case you will have to go to an expert.
Instruction manual
Always read the instruction manual and use your hoverboard for the things it is meant to be used for!

Are E Scooters the new alternative to cars for traveling to work?
Electric scooters are a popular trend nowadays. They comprise of two wheels only and manage to balance themself automatically. People are using them nowadays to travel a smaller distance.
It is not only convenient but also a smart and cool-looking way to commute. Segways, Hoverboards, and E-scooters have transformed the market of mini-vehicles. There is a huge demand for these smart gadgets of the century in the market. In 2020, everyone wants to look cool!
Hoverboard â A perfect commute system
We are living in a time where everything is smart, from watches, to outfits, to even shoes! Then why not have smart and portable commute systems on hand? Imagine how convenient it can be for you. When you wake up in the morning and do not want to walk. Sometimes we just donât feel like walking on a hot summer day, or a lazy winter morning.
Having a car or any other legit vehicle can be very expensive. Especially for teens and even adults! If you are the kind of person who is not looking to make super expensive investments or to take car loans from banks, then you need to get yourself a hoverboard right now!
Keep reading to find out more as we have the best hoverboard for sale in the segway market!
Now, let us have a look deeper into this discussion that:
How E Scooters are the new alternative to cars for traveling to work?
Go Green or Go Home!
Segways and hoverboards are an eco-friendly way to commute on a daily basis as compared to cars and bigger vehicles. Cars and large transport facilities emit a lot of smoke into the environment. The gasses emitted from those cars are a major reason behind the climate crisis that we are facing today. Many people still refuse to believe it but climate change is real!
Living on this planet, it should be our first priority to protect its eco-system and environment. Everyone has a small contribution to it. When we all come forward and take a part in it then things will start changing our planet and its climate.
How using hoverboards is a green option?
Using Segways for daily commute is a green option in many ways for our planets that is because of the following reasons:
Segway and hoverboard are charged and are operated on batteries.
They are charged by using electricity
No fuel is needed
No gas is emitted
No smoke is emitted
It is friendly for the atmosphere
Hoverboards are a small and lightweight option to commute. The best thing about owning a hoverboardsegway is that you do not have to ride on cycle or busy metros. It is a faster option with no hustle at all. People can easily take it out and go to work in the mornings. Instead of using a cycle, use hoverboards to commute to work easily.
The hoverboard is a clean and environmentally friendly machine. People nowadays use cars and bigger vehicles even for traveling short distances. For example, picking up a bottle of jam from the local grocery store. This is the main reason behind gas and polluted atmosphere today. Segway is the best option because it does not produce any smoke because it does not need any fuel!
Why should you choose a hoverboard to travel to work?
It has many other perks as well such as you will not have to do the heavy workout. Because riding a cycle early in the morning is basically a heavy workout. It will cause you to sweat a lot. It will also make you tired, smelly, and sweaty. Who wants all these things before going to work early in the morning? Nobody! No one wants to start their day like this!
We are pretty sure you are one of the smart ones! Getting yourself a mini and smart commute system in the best choice. We have made sure that you do not have to search for the best hoverboard for sale in the market. That is why we have the best collection of premium quality hoverboards and segway.

we need a dj leah fic
i know nothing about dj-ing so this is all y'all get lmao hobbies II l.williamson
"lee? baby i'm home!" you called out, kicking off your shoes and shrugging off your jacket at the door. though when you received no response you frowned, walking further into your home.
"babe? leah?" you continued to call out, popping your head into the bedroom and the living room but finding no trace of the blonde. her car was in your driveway and unless you'd missed something you weren't aware of her having an event or plans tonight.
"oh here you are." you sighed in relief finally finding her in the kitchen. "baby?" you called out, dropping your bag on the counter. "lee?" you called again, the girl bopping her head focused on something else, headphones covering her ears.
you paused for a moment eyes falling to the sliver of her abs visible where her shirt had ridden up, waistband of her boxers poking out from her pants as her tanned and toned arms flexed while she messed about with whatever was in front of her.
"leah!" you yelled louder, smacking your hand on the counter a few times as your girlfriend finally glanced up, flinching a little in shock at the sight of you stood there. "hi gorgeous, didn't hear you come in." she pulled her headphones down to her ears with a smile.
"missed you." she attached to you right away with a soft smile, attacking your face with kisses before finally rewarding you with a real one, tugging you around the counter to where she previously stood.
"yeah no wonder you didn't hear me. what the hell is all this?" you frowned seeing her messing about with her laptop and some sort of board full of buttons. "dj pad." leah gave you a toothy grin, wrapping you in a hug, your head resting against her chest as you stared down at her latest hobby.
"oh leah." you sighed as she let you go, tenderly kissing the side of your head. "what?" she smiled, ducking down to kiss you properly, sending your head into a spin as her tongue swiped your bottom lip but you forced yourself to pull away.
"you always do this!" you pulled yourself up to sit on the counter beside her laptop. "do what!" leah frowned, crossing her arms with a raised eyebrow sent your way.
"you invest in some sort of hobby, do it for a week or two and then it joins your graveyard of dead interests and you move onto something else. then the cycle repeats!" you shook your head knowingly.
"i do not!" leah scoffed in offence as you now raised an eyebrow at her, jumping down from the counter. "come with me my love, let's go on a little house tour." you smiled holding our your hand, leah pulling off her headphones with a roll of her eyes and leaving them by the dj pad as her slender fingers interlocked with yours.
"example one; the hoverboard." you gestured to the item sitting abandoned in the corner of the living room, untouched for years now. "babe everyone bought those during lock down!" leah defended as you hummed.
"example two; the indoor golf set." you kicked the box sat with her trainers. "i still use that." leah protested as you fixed her with a firm look. "you've used it like four times if you're lucky."
"example three; the knitting!" leah followed you into her study as you yanked open one of her desk drawers and pointed to the abandoned bundle of wool and needles. "excuse me? i made you a blanket and that blanket was made with love." leah scowled as you shut the drawer.
"a baby blanket maybe it was like four poorly finished squares lee it could cover my ankles if i'm lucky." you chuckled moving to the large wall to wall bookshelf as leah scoffed. "psychology!" you continued, waving to the five or six huge textbooks your girlfriend was yet to even touch let alone crack open.
"hey i could still read those, that doesn't count." "but will you? signs point to no." you sighed with a shake of your head, ignoring your girlfriends hand swatting at your bum with an unimpressed huff at your tone.
"the VR goggles?" "they gave me a headache!" "the drumming pads?" "okay those were an impulse buy." "gardening? the veggie patch?" "our garden is immaculate!" "yes it is, because i'm the one who looks after it and actually keeps it alive baby. the video camera?" "hey i made the cutest video with that last year, it isn't my fault i lost the charger."
"do i need to continue baby or are you seeing the pattern now?" you challenged with a smile, swinging leahs hand back and forth which was still linked with yours.
"okay maybe i can be a little bit impulsive. but life is too short not to enjoy simple pleasures babe, even just for a moment." using your interlocked hands she tugged your body into hers, hands cupping your cheeks as her thumb pulled down your bottom lip before it snapped back up with a small pop.
"did you learn that in one of your self help books?" you grinned right as she leaned in to kiss you, head flicking back to the bookshelf. "shut up, but i'm getting pretty good! come." with that she lead you out of the office and back to the kitchen.
"leah!" you laughed as she effortlessly picked you up by the waist and sat you back on the counter. "listen." she carefully slid her headphones over your ears, pecking your lips a few times and focusing back on the dj pad.
your lips curled into a smile as you adjusted her headphones, wincing a little as a loud beat sounded in your ears, and you tried not to laugh at how your girlfriends eyebrows furrowed together as she pushed and prodded at the different buttons.
"see? not too bad eh!" leah stopped after a few minutes and you tugged the headphones down. "wait that was it?" you frowned, leahs mouth dropping into a small o at your words. "that was like someone beat boxing without a sense of rhythm. babe that was so bad!" you laughed honestly, covering your smile with your hand.
"baby!" leah whined, smacking your leg and crossing her arms. "what? do you want me to lie?" you grinned as she pulled her headphones off you with a huff. "don't quit your day job for the ibiza circuit just yet sweets, you're no fred again." you continued to tease as you patted her shoulder.
"hey it's really hard okay! these stupid programs i downloaded are no help either." leah pouted with another huff. you held up a finger for her to wait, lifting your hips to pull your phone out of your back pocket.
"here baby, one more for your bookshelf." "how to dj for idiots and dummies."
"cheeky girl." leah tutted, slotting herself in between your legs as her hands slid up and down your legs which wrapped around her waist. "have you figured out your dj name yet?" you grinned, getting your words out in between the lingeringly soft kisses the taller blonde was leaving on your lips.
"no, got any suggestions?" leah chuckled, closing her eyes as your mouth pulled away from hers and focused on her neck, her hands gripping your hips and pulling your body closer into hers as you inhaled the intoxicating scent of her favorite perfume.
"i think dj hold the mayo williamson will do numbers in ticket sales." "oh really? think i might need a tour manager love." "aren't you lucky, you've got the best in the business right in front of you." "mmm i haven't done any gigs yet gorgeous, afraid i can't pay you." "oh don't you worry williamson, i think we can work some sort of arrangement out."

Slugblaster: Teens Hoverboarding for Mental Health
Hey folks, I want to talk to you about the Slugblaster Bundle for Teen Mental Health that's going to be available all summer long. All proceeds for this bundle will be going towards Mermaids, a organization that provides mental health support for gender-diverse youth in the UK. Slugblaster is a Forged-in-the-Dark game about teen hoverboarders hopping through diffferent dimensions in order to find fun, bragging rights, or to just stick it to the man. Pop an ollie over a grav-train. Grind down the sides of a moss-covered mech. Kickflip over a quantum centipede. And all the while paint, patch, re-calibrate and kitbash your gear until it's completely unique to yourself.
If that sounds like your jam, then support the bundle at the $15 level to get Slugblaster and a number of supplements written by the community. If you already own Slugblaster, you can support it for $10 and get the supplements, including Charlock, a world I wrote for the bundle that contains radish-people, sinkholes and giant rabbits. Check out the bundle at the link below!

Misfits (yeah like the Arcane song)
XXXIX.
___________________________________________________
Summary: From the dark musty cell of Stillwater all the way to the very base of Firelights, but where to from there? Guess you'll just have to let fate lead you.
Author's note: This is the first chapter that I've writen and am posting on my pc so I'm getting to experience how really short my chapters actually are, but they do get little longer so...
previous chapter: Thirty eighth chapter
next chapter: Fourtieth chapter
Masterlist
___________________________________________________
A few weeks passed and the undercity was being turned upside down by enforcers. Everyone knew who was the cause of the explosion, but the enforcers didnât care, they just wanted to punish every single one of you. The Firelighs were hella busy helping everyone in Zaun, but Silco had seemingly disappeared, so at least that was something positive. You started doing jobs for people, Felix showed you a place where you could pick up a task and get money for it. The tasks werenât anything special, they mostly consisted of getting random things and delivering them to someone, or finding out information, but from time to time a more interesting task begged for attention too.
You were walking, holding a little boyâs hand, accompanying him to the docks. The hood of your cape was covering your face and the boy sniffed quietly, you didn't have your hoverboard on you, right now, no one could know you were a Firelight. Enforcers stood all over the docks, guarding it from any activity they deemed suspicious.Â
âSee your aunt anywhere?â The little kid didn't answer you, he just shook his head and stared at his walking feet. You looked around the place, hoping to spot anyone eyeing you, but the only people with their eyes on you were enforcers. Actually, one of them was walking towards you, making you stop facing them, hiding the kid behind you slightly out of instinct.
âWhatâs your business here?â The armed man bore into you and while taking off your cape with his gun.
âIâm accompanying this child, his aunt is waiting for him here.â You replied calmly, you were used to dealing with these kinds of people, enforcers or guards in Stillwater, they were all the fucking same.
âCome.â The man ordered you, and you followed, dragging the kid slightly, his face frozen with terror. The enforcer brought you to a small wooden boat with a few people scattered on board, he banged his gun against the rim and one of the figures turned to him.
âBring me Camille.â
An older woman approached the edge of the boat, carrying a wooden box in her arms.Â
âThe kids here.â
She nodded and put the box down, stretching her hand towards the boy holding your hand. He looked at you and to the outstretched hand, but you pulled him behind you a little more. âI want the other half of the payment first.â
It wasn't in your spirit to demand money for a kid, yet you had to if you wanted to make cash. The woman sighed and kicked into the railing two times. After a few moments of silence, a middle aged man trotted up to her and she signed something to him and he pulled out a bundle of coins out of his pocket, giving it to her. Camille looked inside it and then threw it at you. You caught the bundle and hid it into the pocket of your cloak, before you helped the kid into the boat. âThanks.â You nodded curtly and turned to leave.
Ekko knew about what you were doing, and he didnât really mind it, if you returned back unharmed, which wasn't the case every time, and in that instance, you got a stern talk about being careful and other stuff. When you weren't in the middle of a quest or helping in the base with something, you could be either found in your room, trying out new things you learned from watching Heimerdinger and Ekko tinker with machinery or, if the day was closer to an evening, hanging out with the creature. Soon you learned that it was quite intelligent and could be trained, that it liked everything that tasted sweet and that it never left that one street. No matter how many times you tried to persuade it to follow you to the Firelightsâ hideout, it just waited and whined at the border of the street.
âCâmon! Câmere!â You patted the floor next to you, waiting just a few paces away from the streetâs end. The big salamander shrieked and pawed at the ground, pacing back and forth nervously. A sigh escaped your lips and you got up, shaking your head and coming back to it. The creature immediately calmed down and let out a low bellow. âYouâre a pussy you know that?â
You chuckled softly and petted its head. But you had to find a way to get the creature out of here, who knows what could happen to it in here and there had to be something you could do. So you spend what free time you had left sitting above a notebook and scribbling down ideas and figuring out a way to execute them, although so far,you were incredibly successful.

Brother's Bootie Call
Technopath Twins
+++
Alexander was certainly not supposed to be hunting the baby villain by himself.
Alexander certainly did not care.
âBlackout, what the hell,â Skybreaker demanded over their comms. His outrage was probably mostly justified. He had been trying to tail Alexander for most of the day, apparently unaware that Alexander could sense the little spark of his twinâs Power on Skybreakerâs equipment. Annoyed by just about everything at the moment, Alexander gave up on being nice and simply bundled Skybreaker up in cables. He felt it was a sign of his personal restraint that none of the cables were electrified when he did it. âLet me out!â
âI told you to stop following me,â Alexander said reasonably, with absolutely no inclination at all to let Skybreaker out of his new cocoon. âLearn to take ânoâ for an answer.â
âYou fu-â
âAh, ah, ah. There might be some impressionable child listening in.â
There wasnât. He might not like Richardâs teammate, but he wouldnât leave Skybreaker in a dangerous situation, or one that might seriously impact his public persona. It went against his deal with Richard to keep his teammates alive and well. He was allowed to annoy them, and to make them uncomfortable, but he was not allowed to harm them. Not that he would hurt Skybreaker meaningfully anyway. It would make Windsinger sad.
What a trial, he thought to himself, it was to love heroes.
Not that he was in love with Windsinger. Not yet anyway. He di like her though, and he was looking forward to taking her on a date soon. They had already had several that went remarkably well, and he looked forward to having more.
âBlackout. A word?â
Speaking of significant othersâŠ
Hardwire was about eight different kinds of bad idea all poured into a glimmering gold-and-green bodysuit designed to look like a circuit board. She gave the evening news fits, because she was, despite her impressive record of bank robberies, a fan favorite among the civilians.
She was also, as it happened, the very villain Alexander was looking for.
âHardwire,â he greeted her and landed the small hoverboard he preferred for getting around the city. It collapsed onto panels on his boots as soon as he landed on the rooftopâs hard surface. âHow have you been? I notice you havenât taken a bite out of my twin recently.â
He really, really wished that he was speaking in metaphors, but apparently Hardwire liked to mark her territory, and Richard liked to be bitten. He could have gone his whole life without knowing about either, but there was nothing for it. They shared a brain, to an extent and some things tended to be harder to contain than others. They were used to it, but he still didnât love knowing his twinâs preferences in bed.
âOh, so heâs not cheating on me,â Hardwire said in a mild way that set Alexanderâs teeth on edge. She was a villain, and unlike him, she didnât have an arrangement with his twinâs team. If Richard annoyed or upset her, she might try to kill him. Given Alloyâs continued attempts on them, Alexander didnât want to risk alienating one of their few allies. Particularly not his twinâs bootie-call-slash-girlfriend. âI saw one of you out with another woman in a  decidedly romantic arrangement.â
âWasnât him. Heâs wholesome,â Alexander said with true disgust at the topic of choice, but also not willing to let Richardâs own lack of communication skills cause him problems. âIâm dating someone. Itâs new.â
âSomeone on our side, or one of the shinies?â
âSheâs a hero but she says she likes dating on the other side of the tracks. She wants to have a double date with you and my twin.â
The confirmation that Richard wasnât cheating on her brightened up Hardwireâs mood almost immediately, which was useful, since Alexander had a favor to ask her.
âSo I assume you know about the baby villain,â he said as he sat on the edge of the building with no fear of the long fall. He could always deploy his hoverboard if he fell. âAlloy. Heâs declared war on Lockdown and I. Lockdown wants to arrest him. I want him dead.â
âNot sure I should take my bootie-callâs brotherâs side over his,â Hardwire mused, but she dropped onto the buildingâs raised edge with the same casual ease with the height. She had several different tricks for transportation herself, and it was a rare hero or villain who feared heights. âBut I also donât want someone to kill Lockdown. How mad will he be if we kill Alloy?â
âPretty mad. He doesnât like killing. I was planning to catch the little rat, beat him bloody, and give him to Lockdown to arrest.â
It was a compromise, but so were many things Alexander did in he interest of not upsetting his twin to the point of a real fight. The only exception to his no-killing rule was when someone made an active attempt to kill one of their family, which hadnât happened since Richardâs last serious relationship with a hero who turned out to be a villain.
Alloy was obnoxious, but so far, he hadnât attempted to be lethal. That bought him the smallest margin of mercy under the arrangement Alexander had with Richard.
Until Alloy tried to actually kill one of their family, Alexander wasnât allowed to kill him.
Hardwire thought it over long enough for Alexander to pull out his phone and check his email. He didnât bother pressuring her to make a decision. She would come to her own mind no matter what he had to say about it. He was mostly counting on how much she liked his twin to secure her help.
âWhat do you want me to do about it?â she asked after awhile. Alexander put his phone away to give her his attention. âIf weâre not killing him, I mean.â
âSomething worse than killing him,â Alexander said with a mean smile that made Hardwire giggle meanly. âYou still have the phone number of that asshole ex of yours? The one who can null Powers?â

My DNA
Jen pov
I lay in my sleeping bag with my eyes closed, I didn't wanna open them, I didn't wanna face reality. I shifted and moved onto my side, "Jen, you should get up." Bleep said out of nowhere. I opened my eyes with a sigh and sat up. I pulled my knees to my chest and rested my head on them, "Why did you follow me here, you could have stayed with Gwen and Grandpa." I said.
"No, I want to stay with you, just like always." I smiled at Bleep and stood up. I digitized my sleeping bag and materialized some steps to the ground. Once on the ground I caught my reflection in a window, I looked like a mess. Bleep hovered beside me, "Everything will be ok." he said and I nodded. "Now where are we?" I asked, we looked around, "Looks like some sort of attraction town." I said. "You would be right young lady." a monotone voice said from behind me.
I turned and saw a man in a white suit, "This is Sparksville, home to IT." he said and I slowly nodded. "Ok, well, thanks for the information, we'll be on our way," I said and walked away with Bleep beside me. "Well, he was a bundle of sunshine." Bleep joked and made me giggle. "You always know what to say, you are the best friend a girl could ask for Bleep," I said.
Bleep made a beep of happiness, but he then stopped, "Uh-Oh." Bleep said. I stopped and followed Bleep's gaze, parked at the entrance of Sparksville, was the RV. "Crap!" I grabbed Bleep and ducked between two buildings, and out of sight. "Bleep, put your propeller away, they will hear it," I said and pulled up my screen. I searched my build until I found The Ladybugs, they are drone that looks exactly like ladybugs.
"What are you doing?" Bleep asked, "I'm gonna watch them so we have a better chance of getting outta here, without being seen. " I started. I deployed The Ladybugs and piloted them to different parts of Sparksville. "Why don't you just use one of your builds or an alien?" Bleep asked, "That's too noticeable especially if they're looking for me." I said and turned on the audio.
"Yes, she is somewhere in the town, not sure where though." Gwen and Grandpa were talking to the guy from earlier. "Gwen go look for Jen, we can't risk him finding her," Grandpa said and Gwen nodded. "Who is him?" I shook my head not sure and couldn't answer that question. "C'mon, we gotta move," I said and grabbed Bleep.
~~~~~~~~~
I plopped down beside It, which was just a giant ball of rubber bands. "Jen, have some water, you haven't had any since yesterday morning, and maybe a snack too," Bleep said, I smiled and nodded. He kinda sounded like my mom sometimes, but I knew he meant well, and is just watching out for me. I materialized a bottle of water, and a snack from my inventory and sat back.
I and Bleep sat in silence, this was the first break we had all day. The heat fried The Ladybug's circuits shutting them down, after that I and Bleep were on our own, and Gwen was around every corner. Long story short I was exhausted, but the day wasn't over yet.
"This is IT?" I stiffened at the sound of Gwen's voice. "Yes, and who knows what hides within." "More rubber bands," I muttered with a smirk. The Mayor then left and it was just me, Gwen, and Bleep. "Alright you two, I have been all over this town, this is the last place you could hide, so come on out," Gwen demanded, I shared a look with Bleep and shook my head.
"Fine, be like that then." I heard Gwen start moving and risked peeking around the ball. "Up Top!" I looked up and saw Gwen on top of the ball. "Bleep, go!" I materialized my hoverboard and flew out of the barn with Bleep. "Where are we going?" Bleep asked, "Right here." I said landing on the roof of a building. "Making them think we left, smart," Bleep said, it made me smile, he was very smart too but was more impressed with the things I do.
"Yeah, so we just gotta chill out until morning," I said and lay down. Bleep rolled beside my head and looked at me,
"Something wrong?" I asked. "You probably gonna want to power me down, but I am just looking out for you." Bleep started, I nodded and sat up giving him my full attention.
"Why do we not hear Max and Gwen out, maybe there is more to be said?" Bleep said. He's right I did kinda want to power him off, "Bleep you heard what they said, and I know you did. Then they tried to lie to me, what more could be said?" Bleep got quiet, he was in deep thought. "I am not sure." Bleep said and I put on a sad smile, "It's ok." I said.
Gwen pov
I opened the door to the sideways inn and saw Grandpa looking very stressed. "Did you find her?" he asked me with a hopeful look. "I did, but she got away from me, I think she left," I said and closed the door. Grandpa nodded, "We will leave in the morning, hopefully, he stayed distracted long enough." Grandpa said.
I nodded and climbed into my bed, I was exhausted. Grandpa climbed into his bed, he started snoring pretty quickly, but I couldn't get comfortable. I shifted and turned, but I had no luck. "This is gonna be a long stay," I mutter, then I fell onto the floor.
~~~~~~~~~
"What happened?" I sat up from my spot on the floor. I quickly rushed outside and my Jaw dropped, everything had been destroyed. "It looks like a hurricane tour through here overnight," Grandpa said, I nodded in agreement.
"It's very clear who is responsible for these juvenile acts." the mayor said. I and Grandpa shared a look and then something shot past our heads. This crazy little creature showed up, it was black and yellow, and it kinda looked like a battery.
"Megawatt." "Mega-what?" I asked not sure I heard correctly. "Exactly, no one is sure what Megawatt is, some say pure energy, others think he is static cling taken form, either way, it is dangerous." the Mayor said. Megawatt then started zipping around me and Grandpa messing with us. He zipped around for a few more minutes before to the roof of a building.
"AHH!" A scream echoed and Megawatt appeared in the air with Jen. It was holding her upside down by the ankle, so Jen was forced to use both hands to hold her skirt up. Megawatt had a mischievous look and Jen looked mad "Alright, I don't know what you are, but I have had a really bad night, and I'm about to take it out on you!" she stated. Megawatt made a few noises and Jen's expression changed, "Ok, uncalled for." she said. Megawatt made another noise and then dropped Jen, me and Grandpa both ran to catch Jen, but her hoverboard had it covered.
"Ugh, what is that thing, and where did it come from?" Jen asked not noticing me and Grandpa. "It appears to be some kind of alien, and it has a dangerously high energy level." Bleep chimed in, still not noticing me and Grandpa. "C'mon, we need to stop it," Jen said then sped off on her hoverboard.
"We need to follow them," Grandpa said and started running after Jen and Bleep. I followed and spotted something in the air, my eyes widened once I got a better look. "Grandpa, he is here!" I called and the ship zoomed past my head toward Jen. Grandpa looked back and his eyes widened, "Jen, look out!" he called. Jen looked back, the ship zoomed toward her, but Megawatt jumped on it. I and Grandpa stopped reading our tracks as Megawatt short-circuited the ship.
"WAHHH!!!" the tiny door to the ship opened and Albedo was launched out. "Woah!" Jen zoomed over and caught the tiny alien in her hands.
Albedo pov
"Ugh, I hate the planet, she had to be brought back here," I grumbled and set up rubbing my head. "Are you ok?" I looked at the person speaking and my eyes widened in joy, "Finally, I have found you!" I cheered and hugged Jen's ring finger. My joy however was short-lived, my ship exploded, and now I had no way to contact Azmuth.
"Uh-Oh, hold tight little guy," Jen ordered and we sped off after the Alien. "Whoa! Where are we going?" I asked holding on as Jen ordered. "I need to stop that thing, and I guess you're along for the ride," Jen said and we followed the Alien. "Bring her back, it will be easy. THIS IS NOT EASY AZMUTH!!" I screamed in frustration.
~~~~~~~~~
"Are you sure he is here?" I asked the robot I learned to be Bleep. "Yes, I tracked his energy signal as well, seeing as you were so unbelieving of Bleep's skills," Jen said with a smirk. I blushed and turned my head away from Jen, 'Azmuth is on his own next time.' I thought and we headed into the Hydro-electrical dam.
"Where is it?" Jen asked looking at her screen, "It says it's here.". We all looked around, but Megawatt was nowhere to be seen. "Look out!" Bleep called and Jen narrowly dodged Megawatt. The alien laughed, "Ugh, you are so rude!" Jen exclaimed, but her red puffy eyes took away from the anger.
Megawatt laughed and turned into an energy ball, it began zipping around. "Ok, just like we talked about," Jen said and nodded to Bleep. "Hey Mega-nitwit, over here!" Bleep began to put out all kinds of extra energy, and it showed on the surface. Megawatt laughed and beamed with joy, it rushed toward Bleep.
"Gotcha!" Jen trapped Megawatt in a glass jar, I'll admit I was impressed. "Aw, ya know, he is kinda cute like this," Jen said while examining Megawatt. I rolled my eyes, "Ok, we caught the alien, now let's go back, repair my ship, and get off this miserable planet." I demanded.
I heard Jen sigh and we headed back toward Sparksville. "So, who are you anyway, you never told us?" Jen asked, I looked at her and frowned. "My name is Albedo, I was sent by Azmuth to bring you back," I stated. "Back where?" "Back home," I said and Jen landed. "Ok, I'm gonna need more than that, but I'm gonna go get my bag first." I simply nodded and listened as Jen walked away.
I began to rummage through my ship and find what could still be of use. Almost everything was destroyed, but there were a few things that were still of use. "We gotta go, We gotta go!!" I was plucked from the ground and flew through the air before I could fully turn to look at Jen.
"What about my ship?" I asked not happy with the sudden turn of events. "No time, My Grandpa Max and cousin are still here." Jen said and put me into her messenger back. "Welcome to the party." I looked up at Bleep and Megawatt, "I hate it here." I stated and crossed my arms.
(Question, Albedo will be taking Kevin's form, should I make his inverted hair blonde or keep it white? I am not sure, so please comment what you think.)
Midnight Gaming: Working Man Roguelikes
So last night I played both Immortal Redneck and Ziggurat past midnight, checked socials later to find....nothing notable to talk about it, though the countdown for the new nintendo direct is up as I write this so maybe I'll talk about something there after.
Ok directs over lets talk now.
Balatro has a crossover with several properties such as witcher, dave the diver, vampire survivors and amogus. Power wash simulator has a shrek crossover where you clean shreks swamp. Star overdrive looked to be cool with you travelling across a planet on a hoverboard. Goat simulator 3 on switch looks choppy and terrible. Stalker trilogy is coming to switch... why. I know these games came to console last year I think but these games are kinda janky on pc, not sure how they ran on xbox or ps5, can assume it'll run like DOGSHIT on switch, should be fun. FGC is eating good since Capcom Fighting Collection 2 is announced and it'll have POWER STONE 1 AND 2 INCLUDED! Never really played those games but i've heard a ton from people who were pining for that series to come back, so thats cool. DS Castlevanias are coming to switch in Dominus collection very cool. Mysims is back in cozy bundle that has the first game and kingdoms included. I enjoyed them for what they were on wii, an attempt to do a chibi sims game. So thats cool. Yakuza Kiwami is ported to switch, thats crazy and weird. Last yakuza game on Nintendo console was the 1 + 2 hd remaster on Wii U and it sold ass, so sega never bothered with yakuza on nintendo for a while. Why they decide to bring Kiwami 1 which is considered questionable in quality for some people and not port zero instead is beyond me.
Ok thats done, lets cover roguelikes
So I decided to a double feature of two games for this post today, talking about a couple of roguelike fps games that I liked. Some folks do reckon that roguelikes are a bit too common nowadays. In fairness, I can see how it may feel like a cheap way to stretch content in a sort of "play it again, it'll be different woooo" vibe but there are cases of games that utilise the randomness well and actually have a compelling base for a game that a roguelike approach adds to. Take Enter the Gungeon and Streets of Rogue for example. Here I'm gonna talk about two Roguelike fps games I played last night.
Immortal Redneck has you playing as a redneck who drove into Egypt and died. And then he became a mummy. So you have three pyramids you need to go in and clear out, each having some bosses you gotta fight and they are scripted bosses so once you figure them out, you can beat them easy. Progress works kinda like Rogue Legacy where you need to spend on passive upgrades and unlocks before you enter as you'll lose all your gold starting each run to prevent you from just banking it.
IR's combat loop of exploring the map and dealing with enemies is nice. The guns do feel punchy though there are some guns that feel more practical and some that feel more gimmicky such as the infinite ammo ankh that doesnt do a whole lot of damage but is infinite which can be helpful if you run out. You get ammo back when enemies drop a blue box or from a chest and there have been a couple times were I was low on ammo so discretion with your aim is important to keep in mind.
You can choose a god from your sarcophagus in the main hub which gives you some different stats, a starting weapon loadout and a power that recharges overtime such as a grappling hook, a decoy or a power that can turn dropped gold into healing items. You can even choose the redneck himself and he has dynamite bundles and an infinite ammo power. Like the game enough, I say give it a go when you find it on sale.
So Ziggurat is another Roguelike with you as a student wizard needing to clear a challenge to graduate. You have 4 magic groups that you can only carry 1 for each, your starting wand which recharges, spells, staffs and an alchemical weapon. Progress in Ziggurat is 5 levels to go through with unlocks tied to score so regardless if you win or die, you'll eventually unlock every perk, character and weapon in the game for the random table to choose from. Another thing to note is that theres multiple endings depending on difficulty and how thorough you go through so if you find the portal key and go straight to the boss then you'll end up with a worse ending.
Speaking of bosses, while IR had scripted bosses, Ziggurat has random bosses which honestly seem more like souped up big versions of the regular enemies that usually tend to spawn in those regular enemies during the battle. The exception is the end boss Cephaus who is the same in every run. You can choose from several characters to start a run with, each having different stats and starting perks such as a vampire that loses health slowly but gains it back from enemies, a cleric who has healing abilities and can't get divine punishment from offering to gods but more enemies spawn for them and etc.
Rooms in Immortal Redneck had some verticality so you do need to platform at times to get to enemies while Ziggurats rooms are mostly flat. Another to note is that each level has a hidden room with a free perk inside that you can find by looking for a cracked wall. Once you notice how all the rooms are layed out in a level, it become trivial to know where to look. Just know that all the rooms are connected via a grid and any spot where a door is likely to be placed will likely have a cracked wall. During your run you'll need to grab knowledge stones dropped from enemies in order to level up so you can select a perk but since they can despawn, you'll often need to run in and grab them during combat.
I liked Ziggurat enough for the variety in the perks and weapons you can get even while the levels are all rather samey. Theres a sequel already out that I should one day try out to see what they've done for that. Another game worth checking out when its on sale.
Thank you for reading this, feel free to leave feedback and game suggestions. Anons are currently on.
do you happen to know any ttrpgs focused around primarily around travel? the only one i'm personally aware of is ryuutama and i'd like to broaden my knowledge
THEME: Travel
Hello there, I hope that you find some of these games fitting that niche you're looking for!
Apocalypse Roadtrip, by Mynar Lenahan.
Apocalypse Roadtrip is a 34-page Forged In The Dark game for 2-5 players about normal people finding their way after the world has ended. Specifically, it is a hack of the tremendous and innovative As The Sun Forever Sets.Â
Navigating their way past roaming Kaiju, military bombings, otherworldly cryptids, UFO fleets, and other survivors (friendly and not), the characters work hard to achieve their goals and, ultimately, make some changes in their world.
In a world where staying in one place for too long can kill you, travel is pretty important in Apocalypse Roadtrip. Your crew will probably need a vehicle in order to get resources and a safe place to sleep for the night, and you can travel in anything from a sedan, to a snow plow, to an alien spaceship. Travel is one of a few suggested strategies for getting what you need. On the whole, this game aims to emulate a desperate wandering ragtag crew, seeking a place to lay their heads and something that gives them just enough of an edge to survive another day.
If you bought the TĂŒrkiye & Syria Earthquake Relief Bundle, you own this game!
Space Taxi, by gothHoblin.
Space Taxi is a zany Tabletop RPG for 1-4 players and a GM, where players are all passengers of the same taxi taking them on a journey through outer space! Each character type has their own goal to complete before the trip is over, and will encounter all kinds of things along the way. But watch out for the Space Cats - these adorable little fluffballs can be as mischievous as they are cute!
Space Taxi is a lighthearted journey through space using the Caltrop Core game system, with a special set of prompt tables that youâll use throughout the game via a pack of cards. In this game, itâs all about the journey - youâll fill in the world as you move towards your destination, encountering warp portals, dive bars, accidents and Space Cats! Iâm intrigued by the possibilities of Caltrop Core, and I think this game might be an excellent example of how to combine the ruleset with a prompt list that makes the journey interesting every time.
Wanderhome, by Jay Dragon (Possum Creek Games).
Wanderhome is a pastoral fantasy role-playing game about traveling animal-folk, the world they inhabit, and the way the seasons change. It is a game filled with grassy fields, mossy shrines, herds of chubby bumblebees, opossums in sundresses, salamanders with suspenders, starry night skies, and the most beautiful sunsets you can imagine.
You might be a tamarin who dances with small and forgotten gods, a leporine mail carrier who relies on moths to get packages where they belong, a little lizard with a big heart and a mysterious past, or a near-endless number of other thrilling possibilities. No matter what, weâre always travelersâanimal-folk who go from village to village and get to see the length and breadth of all the world of HĂŠth. The seasons will change as we play, and we will change with them.
I like Wanderhome as an example not just because about the travel that exists within the game but also because of what doesnât exist - combat. Wanderhome takes place in a land where a war has already been fought, and your characters are navigating a landscape that has been changed by that conflict. Together you will navigate places that you create together, during seasons that will not just add depth to each location, but also give you the sense of the passage of time. Because each location can be created using pieces in the book, it feels like everyone is discovering a new place together, which feels like an essential element of a travel game.
Slugblaster, by Wilkieâs Candy Lab.
In the small town of Hillview, teenage hoverboarders sneak into other dimensions to explore, film tricks, go viral, and get away from the problems at home. Itâs dangerous. Itâs stupid. Itâs got parent groups in a panic. And itâs the coolest thing ever.
This is Slugblaster. A table-top rpg about teenagehood, giant bugs, circuit-bent rayguns, and trying to be cool.
Slugblaster is mostly about teenagers on hoverboards, but I really like the way it frames an adventure for the party when it comes to how it relates to travel. The multiverse has connections between dimensions, but each portal only works one-way, and there arenât guaranteed âthin-zonesâ between each dimension.
You may have to cut through a cyberpunk dystopia if you want to get to the coolest beach and sometimes you may have to dodge some vampires or a self-replicating math panther if you want to get back home. Players will have to confront a number of obstacles thrown at them by the GM on their way to seek out fame, fortune, and finally a way back home once theyâve got that sweet shot by the prismatic waterfall.
You can currently get Slugblaster and also support a fundraiser for Teen Mental Health if you check it out here!
The PARAGON System, by John Harper.
If youâre not familiar with the Paragon System, Iâd recommend starting with AGON, by John Harper, as it provides a full game and a solid setting to explore: you are Greek heroes and demigods, seeking to make your names great while voyaging around mythic islands full of monsters and legends. Each session will start with your characters voyaging on the open sea, meeting an obstacle that they will have to overcome to reach their destination, while also determining who is the greatest - and therefore the most fit to lead the upcoming expedition.
This theme of voyaging from one port to another is very translatable, and shows up in many other Paragon supplements, such as Rising Tide, by Dan Brown (eco-justice pirates bringing down corporate operations) and Endeavour, by Armiger Games (Star Trek). Regardless of what your characters are doing, the storytelling in these games is easily abstracted, challenging players to make connections between attributes such as Courage or Spirit and actions such as singing a ballad or aiming a cannon. The most travel-friendly aspect of these games is the idea of each location feeling unique and separate from the rest of the world, showing a vast and varied setting that will challenge your players with every stop along the way.
The Wildsea, by Felix Isaacs.
Your character is a wildsailor, part of a crew cutting their way across the island-studded wilderness of the treetop sea on a vessel of your very own. Youâll clash with survivor cultures and wild beasts, scavenge and salvage for wreckage and trade-goods, chase rumours, and uncover secrets. The focus of this game is on exploration, progress, and change - youâll define the world of the Wildsea as you sail it.
The Wildsea has a very well-thought-out and extensive travel mechanic. One player at any given time will be responsible for piloting the ship, but other characters need not take a backseat to the action. There are roles for weather-watchers, cartographers, lookouts and more. Each roll has the possibility to forecast dangers or opportunities, giving characters choices about how they are going to deal with upcoming encounters - will they stop by a port to trade for spider silk, or avoid what looks like an ominous pirate flag? All the while, the group marks their progress on a track, which will indicate how close they are to their destination of choice. The question is whether theyâll still have all their cargo when they get there.
