Propaganda
Katharine Hepburn (Bringing Up Baby, The Philadelphia Story, The African Queen)—(I hope someone else submits real propaganda but just in case they don't:) Cries. Screams. Wails. The woman who singlehandedly made me realize I was bi. A real "do i want to look like her. be her. or be with her.' crisis, where the answer was all three. Holy shit please all three.
Diahann Carroll (Paris Blues, Carmen Jones, Porgy and Bess)— Face of an angel. She had the range. She brought chemistry with every romance she portrayed. She also had a great fashion sense, and was so pretty Mattel made a doll based off of her.
This is round 6 of the tournament. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. Please reblog with further support of your beloved hot sexy vintage woman.
[additional propaganda submitted under the cut.]
Diahann Carroll:
Tumblr media
Another groundbreaking black actress, although she might be better remembered for her television roles. She was also an activist and worked with charities to support women in need.

here she is hanging out with shadow prince anthony perkins :3

Katharine Hepburn propaganda:
Tumblr media
I'm sure one million people will submit her as an iconic Hollywood star but that iconicness might lead people to forget just how insanely hot she was like she had it ALL she was skilled she was funny she was smart she was beautiful AND she was likely bisexual
Tumblr media
The single word I would use to explain Katherine Hepburn's appeal is *range*. In her acting career, that meant covering all the ground between lush period dramas and the comedies she did with Carey Grant and Spencer Tracey. In terms of hotness, it meant an uncanny ability to bring anything from a Dietrich-esque androgyny to some of the best Classic Hollywood Glamour you will ever see.
Tumblr media
Katharine hep was so cool. The VIBES, the INDEPENDENCE,,, living life on her own terms.
Tumblr media
she just had this.... bearing to her, this power. she could be funny, even silly (like in bringing up baby) but also so regal and elegant. she was nobody's fool and dear GOD that's so hot
Fancam link
Tumblr media
She’s not only stunningly gorgeous (those eyes that pierce your soul! a jawline you could cut glass with!) but her delivery and physical presence in roles gives off confidence and authority in such a sexy way (truly the biggest dick energy of Old Hollywood). Her fiery energy in The Philadelphia Story? Unmatched.
Tumblr media
God she's. She's so hot y'all. She has the range!!!!! Funny and dramatic and lovely
Tumblr media
She IS the transatlantic accent. Classically gorgeous and such a strong personality.
Tumblr media
She's literally one of the funniest women to ever live! She goes shot for shot with Cary Grant in Philadelphia Story and we damn well love her for it! She's the most annoying creature to ever live in Bringing Up Baby but she's so insane and funny that we simply cannot help but fall in love with her (and root for her to give Grant an aneurysm!)
Tumblr media
i know she's accounted for but i really want to be sure someone has submitted the scene in bringing up baby where she's pretending to be a gangster
youtube
She simply stuns onscreen; you cannot do anything but be captivated by her presence. Also a non-gender-conforming icon and mild tumblr celebrity by virtue of that one picture from The Warrior's Husband (stage play).
Tumblr media
Katharine Hepburn was out here casually changing the lives of young butch lesbians with her gender swag! She wore pants even when people said she shouldn’t, she refused to marry or have kids, and she wore menswear in at LEAST one movie!
Tumblr media
If I start thinking about her face for too long I will cry she is so so hot. Katherine is so charismatic and charming in everything she appears in - watch her adopt a leopard and fall in love with her. Also she has the biggest dick energy ever (she and her pal Lauren Bacall share that accolade). Also had an incredibly long and varied career from screw ball comedies to serious dramas - she’s a queen of the screen and I adore her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Someone's got to mention it, but she's won the most Oscars out of any performer and is largely considered one of the greatest actresses ever. She's got an incredible voice, an incredible presence, and she absolutely steals every scene she's in. She was private person and deemed standoffish and unapproachable, but she was also profoundly concerned for people's rights and was an outspoken supporter of abortion access. Finally, the Katharine Hepburn slacks look is just iconic. I mean look at her.
Tumblr media
This woman. I have been obsessed with her for years. I know the urban legend is a popular one at this point of her walking around set in her underwear when her pants were stolen and she was left with only a skirt, but the pants thing is honestly enough for her to be the hottest in the room in my book. She refused to wear anything else at a time when the public in general and especially the studios did not like that. She was independent, stubborn, and so so very capable. Competency kink anyone? Also, if you want one final way that Katharine's entire life was saying "fuck you" to the establishment, it started young! Her mother took her to suffrage events, and she never got rid of that attitude of justice. I feel like I have barely scratched the surface of all the ways she was such a badass that I'm turning into a rambling mess instead.

Betty White Vs. Eartha Kitt
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Propaganda
Betty White - (The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Golden Girls, Life With Elizabeth) - I mean - does she really need an introduction? It's Betty White, people! The First Lady Of Television! What *hasn't* she done? She had an incredible career (in fact, she earned the Guinness World Record for the longest TV career by a female entertainer *twice*!) with an infinite list of successes - she won seven Emmys, three SAG awards, and even a Grammy. I personally know her best for her spectacular portrayal of Rose Nylund in The Golden Girls, but she's played so many great characters in her long career. A lesser known but marvelously charming role is that of the titular character in Life With Elizabeth, a 1950s sitcom which she also co-produced at the age of *28*! She was also a great advocate for a number of causes - animal welfare, gay rights (she used to accompany her friend Liberace to events to help him avoid being outed as gay), and racial equality: she famously hired Arthur Duncan, a Black tap dancer, on one of her shows, and when threatened with going off-air if he wasn't fired, she just declared "He stays, live with it." She's the whole package - amazing actress (and comedienne and producer!), kind and hilarious, and of course - beautiful! Just look at her - that smile! Those eyes! That charm!! Watch her in action if you can (they're too long to link here, but entire episodes of Life With Elizabeth are on youtube!), but honestly - her pictures alone are enough to make me swoon!
Eartha Kitt - (Batman) - No text propaganda
Master Poll List of the Hot Vintage TV Ladies Bracket
Additional propaganda below the cut
Betty White:
Have you seen her?? Look me in the eyes and tell me that Betty White's smile doesn't have the power to turn anyone's heart to mush. She looks adorable one moment, and can come up with the most out of pocket lines the next (all while still looking innocent about it). People know her best as Rose Nylund in The Golden Girls, of course, where she played the show's most naive character. But reportedly, Betty was actually the cleverest person on set. She didn't even have to learn her lines; reading the script once was enough for her, and she'd be able to remember any additional changes throughout the week without a problem. Which is pretty amazing if you ask me! Anyway, Betty is an icon. Her television career spanned seven (7!!!) decades, covering basically the entire tournament's time period (and then some!). She *almost* turned 100 and her outliving other celebrities was a Tumblr meme for ages. She had her own talkshow in the 1950s, for which she hired a female director, and had an African-American tap dancer (Arthur Duncan) as a regular cast member. When faced with criticism for the latter and the threat of being boycotted, Betty responded with "I'm sorry. Live with it" and gave Duncan *more* airtime. She was also the first woman to ever produce a sitcom (Life with Elizabeth) in which she played the lead, and looked absolutely stunning doing it. All in all: Betty was a badass, had a heart of gold, and she's absolutely stunning!
I think I might cry at how pretty she is honestly
Tumblr media
that SMILE!!!
Tumblr media
she's even pretty when she's not smiling... ahh...

some soft butch realness

Hiya! I currently have covid and am just feeling blue--do you have any super fun and super hot book recs? I'm trying to cheer myself up lol
Oh no, I'm sorry! COVID sucks. I didn't get it until right after Thanksgiving last year (and haven't gotten it again since) but it fucked me up quiiiiite a bit. I hope you feel better soon.
And YES! I do have some hot books for funsies.
If you have a tolerance for angst at this time (I can never tell if people mean fun as in "funny" or "anything entertaining", because my brain is weird and I tend to just be able to take a max dose of angst 95% of the time), I will always say some of the hottest books I've ever read with The Most Fun are Sierra Simone's. New Camelot is a great starting place IF you are down for some angst (HEA guaranteed, of course).
If you're NOT in an angsty mood, why not get a head start on the holiday season with her Christmas Notch series, co-authored by Julie Murphy? This series focuses on a small town where a Hallmark-type company films Christmas movies. Shit gets ROCKED, however, when the former child star actress of the movie (in the first book—these read best chronologically though they're technically standalones) has to drop out. The man heading the production studio making the movie ALSO has a porn production studio.... so... why not sub in a porn star who wants go mainstream? Starring opposite her childhood crush/a former boybander who's a big fan of her Only Fans page?
They're super funny, they're super delightful, they're HOT and the final book is out on 9/24! Does it include the hero getting his ass fingered? Who's to say?
(I am to say. He does. It's great. More of that, authors.)
SPEEEEAKING of porn stars, you could also try Rosie Danan's The Roommate, which is about a girl whose potential roommate drops out right before she's set to move in. Her new roommate... may happen to be a famous porn star. There is a truly incredible scene where she's like "I need an orgasm" and he's like "omg buddy I got you" and eats her out through her panties. Because that keeps it... platonic...
And then, also along the lines of modern classic superhot romcoms featuring sex workers, if you haven't read Helen Hoang's The Kiss Quotient... You gotta. A woman on the spectrum hires a male escort to teach her how to date (I mean, also to fuck) essentially, because she's been told she's frigid in bed in the past and thinks something is wrong with her. Rightfully, he's like "There is nothing wrong with you, also here's an orgasm". I'd also recommend the second book in the series, The Bride Test. The Heart Principle... is a heavy book that is actually too angsty for ME. Which is saying something. Not bad. Wouldn't call it fun.
What about Tracey Livesay's American Royalty? The one about the uptight British prince who has to organize a charity concert and hires a female rapper a la Megan Thee Stallion and then they fall in love? This one has a direct sequel, so you can get extra fun. (First book does NOT end on a cliffhanger, second just continues the journey.)
Minx by Sophie Lark is a fun one. In this one, the hero is a billionaire who hires the heroine, a high end escort, to help him with specific needs... Pet play, it's pet play. He has her dress up in a cat suit (to be clear: not like a furry cat suit... she's in a sexy cat suit and wearing cat ears and a collar that says "Minx"... she drinks milk out of a bowl and then they fuck nasty... INCLUDING. when she's ON HER PERIOD. be still my heart, more pls) and she ends up getting into his heart. Also, because it must be noted when we get it in m/f romance: his ass. She gets into that as well.
If you're open to something SUPER wacky lol, Kathryn Moon's A Lady of Rooksgrave Manor is a paranormal historical erotic romance in which the heroine essentially works in a brothel for monsters...? And she falls in love with like, five or six different monsters. The swords don't cross a TON, but they do cross, at it were. She bangs like. A Jekyll and Hyde guy; and a gollem type guy; an invisible guy; a vampire, a sphinx; and there's definitely more lol
How to Marry a Marble Marquis by C.M. Nascosta. Another paranormal historical type book. The heroine is looking for a husband, and receives assistance from a gargoyle rake. Also she receives dick from a gargoyle rake. She does in fact fuck the gargoyle rake while he's sleeping. And is a stone. He's fine with it.
If you're open to mafia romance, Mila Finelli (otherwise known as Joanna Shupe) writes such fun shit with her Kings of Italy series. Best read in order (the first two books are directly connected, the next three technically stand alone but come on now) they are SUUUUPER hot and SUUUUUUUUUPER over the top and so good. TWs for a lot of murder obviously, most of the super violent shit is "offscreen". The heroine of the first book is 18 and the hero (who initially is arranging for her to marry his son) is 38. So there's that. But it's very much NOT your standard issue "sweet virgin" mafia romance.
Sara Cate's first four Salacious Player's Club books are super hot and good! I would especially recommend Give Me More (MMF, friends to lovers) and Mercy (femdom, older heroine/bratty hero). Also Mercy has pegging! I'm on a roll, truly.
Act Your Age by Eve Dangerfield, of course. The one where the heroine blows her boss by accident (it was dark, they were both confused, mistakes were made) AAAAND calls him daddy during. Which he loves. So they begin a no-strings relationship which involves, among other things, stepfather/stepdaughter roleplay. It gets emotionally out of hand. Soooo good and soooooo hot tho I will admit I am soooooooo the target audience.
If you want short and sweet, Angelina M. Lopez just released Give it To Me! which is an anthology of her short stories, most of which are on the hotter side (a couple are closed door, but one of the few that doesn't include sex has a sequel story in the collection which DOES and it's fab). You get everything from a widow asking her dead husband's best friend (who's become her best friend in the ensuing years) to help her get back in the saddle (by fucking her) to surfboard sex to a magical orgy gangbang situation. Very fun.
If you've never read Tessa Dare... lol... now's the time. A Week to Be Wicked and When a Scot Ties the Knot might be good for this moment! I also love Any Duchess Will Do, but that has a gut punch (in a sad way) moment.
Grace Callaway's historicals are very fun and very hot and silly and comedic, buuuut I will say the backstories can get pretty dark in a lot of them. If you are open, I'd say that you might want to try her Game of Dukes series or the Lady Charlotte's Society of Angels (it's Charlie's Angels but historical romance) books.
A lot of S.M. LaViolette books can be on the darker side, but her Bellamy's series is definitely on the lighter end for her. They're VERY hot if you're in a historical mood, and though there are some tragic backstories, I think it's a bit more doable than her other stuff. And you get things like "Phoebe's mom tells her she should just knock herself out on her wedding night because her future husband is like 7 feet tall and clearly hung" and "Hyacinth is pretending to be a guy and Sylvester knows she's a girl now so he's having a good time baiting her into revealing she's a girl by saying shit like 'LET'S JACK OFF TOGETHER, OL' BOY' while watching a peep show with her".
TJ Alexander's Triple Sec is sooo fun and hot if you're open to a queer book. The main POV heroine is a bartender who meets a bubbly lawyer... but the lawyer is married... But hey, they're poly! And now our main heroine is dating the lawyer while developing feelings for her frosty artist spouse... It's F/F/NB.
Preferential Treatment by Heather Guerre, of course. A woman mouths off to the billionaire CEO of her company. He's super into it and offers to pay her to be his domme. Yay!

Tom Holland x actress reader
Where are there in the same movie together and the cast goes out and Tom and reader really likes eachother maybe smut and after it’s really awkward between them fluff with a sprinkle of angst
Not In Love [T.H]
Tumblr media
Word Count: 3.1k
Warnings: sexual themes, cursing, slight angst, probably some typos
a/n: hi hi! i’m so sorry but i don’t write smut, so i hope it’s ok that i just implied it! i will probably start writing smut in the future but for right now i find it a bit awkward for myself to write. also, sorry that this took so long to get out, i planned for this to only be like 800-1k words, and obvioulsy, it just kept going. hope this works well for you!
                             ✯¸.•´*¨`*•✿ ✿•*`¨*`•.¸✯
(Y/N) (L/N) does not fuck around with co-stars. Ever since you started acting at the young age of eight, you were always told by your mom, manager, and others in the industry to avoid casual, co-star related hook ups. As your career progressed, even through puberty, you remained faithful to your vow. No mingling with co-workers in a non professional manner. Sure, some of your previous co-stars and you remained good friends, even after filming. But the main internal lesson always stayed the same: don’t fuck your co-stars.
In your long and glorious career, the only hindrance to your resolve was Tom fucking Holland. His stupid British charm and playful wiles always had your knees buckling and the butterflies in your stomach going haywire. And when he called you darling? In that stupid, yet honey-like accent? You were done for.
Tom had the absolute pleasure of working with you in The Devil All The Time. He watched all of your movies and practically grew up watching you on Disney Channel. To say he was simply starstruck would’ve been an understatement, he was enamoured. Practically in love. And when he got to know how kind and sweet you were in real life—not just on screen— he just had to turn on his British charm, just to watch you squirm.
Every little comment he made caused your skin to tingle. Your stance on co-star relationships had never been so harshly challenged. He would constantly call you whatever cute pet name he could think of at the time, and unluckily for you, they always seemed to just roll right off his tongue. He even went out of his way to grab you a coffee if he went out to get one, or he’d ask his brother to make sure to bring back your signature order: caramel macchiato with almond milk, two pumps of vanilla, and extra caramel drizzle. How he knew that was your go to order was a mystery to you.
It’s not like you didn’t retaliate with your own antics though. Sometimes during his scenes you send him a wink and a smile, just to watch him lose focus. Or maybe you’d tease him about the way he says croissant, but then also say it in the over pronounced way he does, just to bug him. On days when the sexual tension between you two was especially palpable, you’d kiss his cheeks after his scenes and say “good job, babe” or something else to rile him up. So no, you weren’t innocent in this matter at all.
                   ✯¸.•´*¨`*•✿ ✿•*`¨*`•.¸✯
This build up of tension was bound to boil over at some point. But why the fuck did it have to be during the fucking full cast and director dinner?
You all arrived at the fancy restaurant, all 40+ of you. You sat next to Eliza and secretly hoped that Sebastian, Harry, or even Robert would take the seat next to you, anyone but Tom. He had been especially touchy that day, and you knew if he continued his ministrations, especially under the cover of a table, your resolve would surely fade away.
Unfortunately for you, Tom practically bolted to the seat next to you. You scooted a bit closer to Eliza, who nudged your shoulder playfully.
“You should just give in.” She stated, smirking the whole time. “Look at him, poor thing just wants some love and attention.” she giggled, nodding her head to where Tom was whispering with Harry on the other side of him.
“Stop it, you’re insufferable.” You rolled your eyes, but still smiled at the joking banter.
“(Y/N), hon, he’s one of the hottest celebrities in Hollywood right now, and he wants you.” Eliza pinched your makeup covered cheek, “you’re telling me you don’t wanna just jump in his pants? Do you not find him hot or something?”
You smacked her hand away, “No, I do find him attractive, I just d—”
“Find who attractive, love?” Tom interrupted, smirking at the comment he heard. No, he didn’t know for sure you were talking about him, but one can hope.
“Nobody,” you dismissed, “I was just telling Eliza here that I think her dog is cute, right Eliza?”
“Sure.” She mumbled, rolling her eyes dramatically, then winking directly at Tom, just out of your view.
“Ah, I see.” He chuckled, “Yes, you find her dog attractive then?”
“No!” You defended, red faced from being backed into a hole, “I didn’t even use that word; you’re just hearing things.”
“Don’t worry, love. I find you absolutely, without a doubt, drop dead gorgeous.” Tom winked, before returning back to his conversation with Harry.
Eliza pinched your side, causing you to yelp. “See, I told you!” she whisper-yelled, a knowing smirk dawning her face.
     “You didn’t tell me shit.”
“Ugh, whatever, you’re hopeless.” She sighed, just as the waiter was coming around to take your orders.
The majority of the evening went by just as simply and smoothly as possible, it was when dessert arrived that Tom stirred up trouble once again. His damned British charm made him the perfect devil in disguise.
“Darling, you have some cake right—” he licked his thumb before drawing it over your bottom lip, slowly, “here.”
He smirked at your surprised gaze and wiped the chocolate cake from your rose-painted lip. Never breaking his gaze, he drew his thumb back to his mouth and sucked on the digit, gently humming at the sweet taste of chocolate and strawberry lip gloss that flooded onto his tongue. This bitch.
You cleared your throat and ceased your—more than obvious— gawking. He wasn’t going to win this time. You sat quietly, smirking as he watched your every move, simply waiting for retaliation. And it came soon enough, when you knocked your water off the table into his lap, on accident, of course.
He jolted up the second the cold water hit his slacks, cursing, yet still keeping that charming smirk on his lips. You immediately started the steady stream of apologies, a faux look of remorse etched on your face. The rest of the cast simply looked on, none the wiser.
“Oh Tom! Gosh, I am so sorry.” You stood up as well, taking the napkin from your lap and dabbing his torso where the water splashed up. “I’m just so clumsy, forgive me.” You looked up at him with false serenity in your eyes, but a devilish grin.
“No worries, love.” He mused, “I’m just going to go dry off in the washroom. Could use some help though; it’s the least you could do.” The rest of the cast went back to their desserts and conversation, so they failed to notice the hidden glint in Tom’s eyes or the lustful insinuation behind his request.
“Sure.” You smiled up at him, determined not to lose this game of cat and mouse. You followed him to the large family restroom in a dimly lit corridor. He opened the door and gestured for you to go in first. What a gentleman, hm?
He closed the door behind him and locked it before undoing the buttons on his dress shirt and removing it. His toned torso also damp with freezing droplets of ice water.
You sucked in a shaky breath, taking in his less than professional, disheveled look. “You gonna come help me, princess?” He reached for paper towels and grabbed a handful, dabbing the wet spot on his lap, right over his crotch.
“I—um, sorry,” you snapped out of it. Following his movements, doing the same but to his wet torso.
“You’re okay, love.” He looked at you, the close proximity of your bodies creating the most delicious heat in the bathroom. Tom leaned in slightly, just until your noses were brushing against one another. “Though, I’ll admit, the fact that you're not giving me an apology kiss right now, makes this a little less than okay.”
You didn’t even process your actions completely, the second those words left his mouth yours lips were on his. You held his face in your hands, rough passion seeping through your entire body, and he was just the same. He kissed you fervently, holding your waist with one arm and the back of your head with his opposite hand, tangling his fingers into your hair. The tension and desire that had been building up for almost as long as you’ve known him finally boiling over.
Tom gingerly inched his hand up the side of your leg, under your dress.
“Wait, wait,” you pulled away, breathlessly, “we need to get back, they’re probably wondering where we are.”
Tom was about to concede when a knock rang through the room.
“Hey guys,” It was Eliza, “Seb paid for all of us, so we’re gonna head out. Take your time! Oh, and use protection!” You could practically hear the smirk on her face.
Tom stopped your little scowl by returning his attention to kissing you, “How lucky are we?” he mused, repositioning his hands, starting to fumble with the zipper of your dress.
                   ✯¸.•´*¨`*•✿ ✿•*`¨*`•.¸✯
The next Monday at work was hell. You spent the whole weekend internalizing your little rendezvous in the bathroom. Tom texted you nearly fourteen times over the two day break period where you didn’t see each other, and you ignored every single one of them. The first ones were simple ‘hey’s’, ‘hi’s’, and ‘good morning’s’, but they soon progressed to show Tom’s concern over you not responding. The last message being,
Tom: I hope you know, I don’t regret it, but I’m sorry if you do.
You didn’t mean to ghost him, but your feelings were so confusing. You liked him and the things he did to you. But you had a code. And maybe the ‘don’t date your co-worker’ was a bit old school and shitty, but you’d been able to stick to it for this long and your work has never been better. Then again, all your previous boyfriends have been assholes; constantly upset over how busy your schedule was. Maybe a fellow actor would be more understanding?
The second you arrived to set Harry was on your ass.
“(Y/N), hey!” He called to you from the snack table where he was talking with Tom. You gave him a small smile and wave, but proceeded to your makeup chair. He motioned for you to join them, but you waved your hand in dismissal and gave him an apologetic look. Whether or not you regretted your night with Tom, you were absolutely not ready to confront it just yet. However, you didn’t miss the disappointed look on Tom’s face or the way Harry gave his brother a reassuring shoulder squeeze.
Harry even came up to you asking how your weekend was and if you were busy or not, no doubt trying to gauge your mood for Tom. You were friends with Harry so you didn’t mind talking to him, but when it was becoming apparent that you weren't giving much away as far as how you were feeling, Harry resorted to more ‘less than subtle’ questions.
“So… are you seeing anyone, currently?” He asked, playing with his fingers, the question struck you as extremely off-putting, especially since Harry said it with little to no confidence, like he really didn’t want to be asking that.
“Why? Are you trying to ask me out?” You teased. Watching him squirm was almost as fun as when it was Tom.
“No! No, I mean— I’m not opposed, you’re very pretty—no wait, I don’t mean it like that, I just—uh, I think you look nice, but not too nice—I’m gonna go.” Harry painfully stuttered out. Cursing under his breath as he walked away, back to where Tom was standing, watching on. These idiots were the most obvious divs in the whole world.
After you finished with your stylist, you were ready to start running lines for your scene. You have the majority of your scenes with Tom, so as per usual, you were acting opposite him. As the director was explaining how he wanted the scene to go, Tom kept glancing over at you, raising his eyebrows a bit, obviously wanting to clear the air.
The scene went by fine, but it was clear to many of the people around you that you were not on the top of your game today. It even got to the point where the director needed to ask if you needed a break. You said you didn’t and persisted. The scene was finally done to perfection, but it took almost double the amount of time it usually would for you.
Tom noticed you struggling the most and couldn’t help but feel guilty. He was quick to give you words of encouragement between takes, but you only responded with a quick ‘thanks’ and moved on.
When lunch time came around, the caterers were all set up and prepared on a different part of the lot. You quickly made your way over, running into Eliza on the way.
“Oh, hey (Y/N)!” she beamed at you. “Did you finish your scene?”
“Yeah, are you going to set right now?”
“Mhm, I’m shooting the scene at the church with Robert.”
“Well, good luck.” You smiled at her, about to move along when she grabbed your wrist.
“Wait, did something happen between you and Tom? He’s at the lunch table moping, even Seb is trying to cheer him up.”
“Um well no, I mean, maybe? I don’t know, I guess I’ve been avoiding him a bit.” You shrug, now not really wanting to go to lunch, but you know you have to. If you don’t show up then it’d be all too clear to Tom that you were definitely avoiding him.
“Oh, well, maybe just talk to him?” Eliza comfortably put a hand on your shoulder before walking away to set.
You continued to the lunch set up, seeing club sandwiches, soups, and cupcakes set up. You grabbed what you wanted and went to sit by Tom and everyone else. Yeah, you may have been avoiding him, but you didn’t want to make it that painstakingly obvious.
As soon as you sat down, Tom put his arm around you like he always did when you had lunch together. Only this time you stiffened up, not because you hated it, but because the action felt so different after what you both had done, it felt like it meant more. Tom noticed, of course, and removed his arm, frowning.
“Can I talk to you, (Y/N/N)?” he whispered to you, the rest of the table in their own little world, too caught up in their interactions to notice yours.
“Um, sure,” you mumbled in response, “but maybe when I have free time later? I’m just really hungry right now.” you gave him a small smile, trying to keep up the amicability.
He nodded and continued his conversation with Seb, who looked completely uninterested, but still continued responding since he could tell Tom was feeling shitty about something.
Later that evening, the entire cast had a one hour break since the next scene they wanted to shoot needed to be done at night and it wasn’t dark yet. That’s when Tom took you to his trailer to talk.
“Look, (Y/N), I don’t want to jump to conclusions, but I can’t help but feel like you’re avoiding me.” He stated, once the door was shut and you were already seated on his couch.
     “I’m not.”
“But you are. I can tell. You didn’t talk to me at all today, even when I made a joke that I knew you’d have the perfect come back to.” He sat next to you, but kept more of a distance than usual.
“I don’t have to talk to you, Tom. You can’t rely on me to keep you entertained.” You rolled your eyes, annoyed that you’d been caught.
“That’s not what I’m saying, (Y/N), and you know it.” Tom pointed a finger at you, equally annoyed now.
“Fine, so what if I was avoiding you? You’re a grown man, you can handle rejection can’t you?” You spat. The argument was quickly becoming more heated. If there was one thing you hated the most in the world, it was being called out, especially if you knew you were in the wrong.
“What the fuck is your problem today?” Tom asked, exasperated at how defensive you got so quickly.
“Tom, I’m sorry, but I don’t do this,” you motioned between the two of you, “I don’t do the cliche Hollywood, sleeps around, one night stand scenario, so back off.”
“So you regret it.” Tom looked down, trying to keep his emotions at bay. He really did like you, but maybe it was naive of him to assume that sleeping together would open the door to something more.
“No, I just—it shouldn’t have happened. I liked it, but I’m not that type of girl. I’m a relationship type of person. I never wanted to be another girl for you to mark down on your list of possible hook ups.” You sighed. Tom wasn’t necessarily notorious for random hookups, but he was a famous actor who just so happened to also be single. It was hard to not go there with your thoughts, so in your mind, you had him pegged.
“I’m a relationship person too, though. I wanted all of this. All of you.” Tom inched closer, gingerly taking your hands in his. “I may have gone about it wrong, I should’ve asked you out first or something.”
     “Tom, stop.”
“No, (Y/N), because you’ve got it all wrong. I didn’t flirt with you or spend time with you just to get in your pants.” Tom pulled you closer. “I surrounded myself with you because I wanted you. And I think you want me too.”
You looked in his eyes, searching for any sign of insincerity, small as it might be, but Tom was being the most sincere he could possibly be. Tom cautiously leaned closer, just wanting one more kiss, even if it was the last. However, you were the one that took the final plunge and pulled him in, kissing him. You both moved together so fluidly, like you were made for each other.
When you did pull apart, Tom was the one to break the silence, “So does that mean you like me or…”
     “I kissed you, didn’t I?”

Chapter 4: The Plan
Tumblr media
Jack and Kale get back to basics with an extra thirsty and densely pointless fourth episode covering 1×08 "162 Candles," 1×09 "History Repeating," and 1×10 "The Turning Point." Prepare for even more incoherent quote recitations than usual, Lexi love, Salvatore bro hate, illuminating hypotheticals, nonsensical theories, songs, dance, and joy. Basically, we just thought we should tell you that we recorded this for you because you were all sad and alone and we felt bad for you. Aren't you flattered?
You can stream the episode on Spotify, Google Podcasts, and Pocket Casts, or you can listen/download directly using this link (still no Apple Podcasts/iTunes, sorry).
Correction (sort of): As you could probably tell, discussion of Bonnie's storyline in 1×09 and Emily's role in the episode are largely absent. Don't worry, we love both Emily and Bianca Lawson, and will talk about them at length next time.

pick up the pace (1) / park seongwha
Tumblr media Tumblr media
PART ONE // PART TWO
Summary: You weren’t the type to go to college parties, but somehow you ended up at the most notorious frat of your campus. They threw the wildest parties, and were known to be the hottest fuckboys. Somehow you ended up with a crappy vampire who took an interest in you.
Genre: fluffy college au Pairing: Reader x Seonghwa Word count: 10k ( I honestly never know when to stop, and I have another 10k ready, my god )
A/N: I know nobody has asked for this fic, but why would I let that stop me? It’s a very slow fluffy college au thingy which is in contrast with the title, because I really don’t know how to pick up the pace. (one of my favourite songs of drowners, if you’re interested)
Tumblr media
act one: “you don’t need to be stressed!” okay but consider this: i am
You picked up your hair into your usual, lazy, bun with half your hair out. You grabbed a cup of ramen noodles and poured some water into it, placing it in the microwave. You just had morning classes that followed with your afternoon job at the coffee shop. You quickly changed into your sweats, not caring about your appearance. You began to eat your noodles when your roommate Sana walked in.
“Hey. How were your classes?” She asked you without any interest in her voice. She simply asked out of politeness. You guys were more roommates than friends, but it worked for both of you. She was more outgoing and didn’t really take school too seriously. You, on the other hand, were way too invested in your academics.
“It sucked.” You told her with a mouthful of hot noodles. Why did you always buy the spicy ones? You weren’t really a fan of spicy things, but you were an idiot.
“How come?” She asked you while taking off her shoes. She hummed softly to a melody you didn’t know. She was always making up melody’s wherever she went. You did like that about her. It fits with her carefree personality.
“Someone else is top of the class. Someone dethroned me, and I don’t even know who he is.” You explained to her, frustrated. You had been the best in your class ever since you started that class. That’s six months ago, why did Someone have to take your gold? Sound like a selfish guy.
“What’s his name?”
“The teacher didn’t want to give me his name because it would spark my unhealthy competitive side.” You told her while rolling your eyes. Your competitiveness was your most charming side, or at least that’s what you thought.
“How do you know it is a he?” She asked you.
“Mistake on her part, which she deeply regrets. There are more females in our class, and I can eliminate them all. How hard can it be to find that guy?” There was no way you were letting that guy win. It was your spot, and no one else deserved it, but you. You had worked your ass off to get an almost perfect score. And apparently almost perfect was still not enough to be the best.
“I will start my mission next Monday.” You told her determined. Usually, people would get scared when you flashed them your crazy eyes, but Sana had gotten used to this side of you.
“How was work?” She asked you again while rummaging through the fridge for some food. Both of you weren’t really cooks, so food had to be ordered in most of the time. You did have fruit in your fridge. You are kind of trying to be healthy, but most importantly, ready for summer.
“Terrible.” You sighed dramatically while falling on your shared sofa. You were one of the better actresses of your town. You did play the lead in one of your school plays, and it was the one with the best reviews. Not that you’re bragging or anything.
“Everything okay?” She asked you with concern laced through her words. Sometimes you were more like a therapist and patient than roommates. She was 90% of the time taking on the therapist role, and she did it incredibly good as a psychology major. Sometimes you thought she used you secretly as a subject for her class, but you never really asked her if it was true or not. You rather not know.
“Yeah.” You mumbled softly, disappearing in your favourite blanket. You searched for the tv-remote, but Sana quickly took it before you could even locate the thing.
“You sound like you need a night out.” She stated firmly while crossing her arms. She did this every month, trying to get you outside. You usually followed her, but you never really had any fun at her party’s. They were just too loud, and to be honest, drunk people scared the living shit out of you. One second they’re fresh and talking to you, and the next second they vomit all over the place. Drunk college boys were honestly the worst. You could deal with the girls, they were nice when they were drunk.
“I need a night to catch up on some school work.” You reasoned with her, but she eyed you suspiciously. Why were you getting comfortable on the couch when you were planning to catch up on some homework? She always sees through your lazy ass.
“It’s Friday?” She asked you loudly while simultaneously pulling the blanket from your body. You glared at her, but you didn’t protest. There is no way you can fight her in this state. She’s a strong-willed person, and you were far too weak today. She knew when to fight her battles.
“Yes, it is. I respect you for knowing what day it is.” You deadpanned. Maybe she would leave you alone if you were a little bit more annoying than usual. It had never really worked.
“You’re young. You should be going out on a Friday night.” She said while throwing her arms in the air in disbelief. Or that was what she intended to do, you think. She wasn’t as great of an actor as you were. It really showed from time to time. You need to believe in your dramatics. The first rule of acting club.
“Why?” You asked.
“Because you’re young?” She stated uncertain, her confident front wavering.
“You already said that.” You had no intention to let her win easily. She would win you over eventually, but where is the fun in agreeing immediately? For all you knew, she could finally back down and let you live your fat ass in your favourite spot.
“Because you deserve some fun.” She finally said after gathering her thoughts. And you actually agreed with her, that’s why you were ready to binge-watch something on Netflix. That’s something fun you deserved.
“I don’t really think parties are fun.” You told her honestly, but she did already know that information. Once she had forced you to go to a party where you ended up being kissed against your permission, and Someone had thrown up. It was the same guy. It most definitely wasn’t the best night of your life.
“It’s a small gathering.” She told you with pleading eyes. She knew you were not immune to her puppy eyes, and she liked to use is from time to time. She barely used it, so you knew tonight meant something important to her. Sometimes you’d like to be more friends than roommates.
“I know when you’re lying. We’ve been roommates for far too long.” You told her while getting out of your spot to throw away your leftover food.
“No honestly, it’s going to be small. Last week was wild enough.” She explained while following you into the kitchen.
“Define small?” You asked her with arms crossed.
“Just my friend group with a few extras like you.” She told you with a big smile. She noticed you weren’t really putting up a fight anymore, meaning you’d probably agree to whatever she had planned.
“That actually sounds nice. You know I don’t like big parties where I can’t dance freely.” You nodded your head, pretending to be rooted in thought when you had already agreed internally.
“They will provide an extra dancing space just for you.” She told you happily, taking your arms to start dancing. You let her.
“Interesting.” You told her while moving a little to an imaginary beat as there was no music playing. You did like to dance at small gatherings.
“You need to dress up.” She finally said after both of you danced freely for a couple of minutes. Sana is not really a dancer, but she was pretty so she didn’t really need to be able to dance.
“As what?” You asked her. She did get your attention with her final sentence. party’s where you had to dress up were the best in your opinion. No one knew you, and no one would bother you. You could just drink and dance in your reserved dancing spot.
“Something Halloween related.” She shrugged her shoulders, not really caring that it was a Halloween themed party in spring.
“Halloween? It’s may? Isn’t that a bit too late?” You asked her in disbelief.
“Or too early. It depends on what your view on life is.” she shrugged again, and you couldn’t believe why she was so indifferent.
“Why Halloween? I don’t really have anything scary hanging in my closet.” You pouted softly. It would have been nice if she had given you a heads up.
“I’m just going as a cat. You don’t have to put too much effort into your costume.” She tried to comfort you, but she had to know you better by now. You liked to plan ahead, and you wanted to plan your costumes. You were a simple kind of girl.
“But that’s the fun part.” You dramatically stated, slapping your hand against your head as a special effect.
“You’ll find something. Be ready in half an hour.” She ignored your dramatics.
“But I still have to shower.” You yelled at her while she was walking toward her room to get ready.
“Better make use of these minutes you’re wasting by standing in the kitchen.” She laughed before slamming the door.
“You’re cruel.” You whispered while walking past her room to get your things.
“That I am.” She yelled, and both of you laughed. She did have a good hearing. She could’ve been a music major, but unfortunately for her did she have controlling parents who hated everything that was related to art.
act two: i have feelings for u. not telling u which ones.
“I’ve got to say you do work better with a time limit.” Your roommate said when she saw your costume. It was nothing too extravagant, but it was all you could do in such a short period. “But I’ve got to ask you, why are you doing your make-up when your face will be covered?” She asked you while tilting her head, trying to figure you out.
“If it gets too hot underneath my blanket, I still want to look presentable.” You told her matter of factly. Your costume was just a white blanket you had found in your closet. You had cut out a face, and voila. You’re a ghost.
“Smart.” She said while putting on her shoes. Sana looked incredibly good, and her outfit told you it was going to be more party-minded than small gathering. It didn’t really matter anymore as you were almost ready to go. Sana had on a black dress that showed of everything she got to offer without it being slutty. She didn’t have a tail, but she did put on cat ears and painted her face to match the look.
“You look good.” You complimented her when you finished your make-up. She blushed slightly, and you thought it was cute. She really wanted to look good for Someone, and you were going to figure out who it was. Sana doesn’t do dating or pining for a guy. This must be a first.
“You look incredible yourself.” She said when you were examining yourself in the mirror. You did look good. You also wore a simple black dress, but not as tight fitted as Sana’s. Yours was more the casual kind with a little twist. When you put on your blanket, it did look like you weren’t really wearing anything underneath, but it didn’t bother you. Sana had on high heels, but you weren’t that kind of girl. You did like heels, but you were a messy drunk, and you didn’t want to break your legs. You opted for simple white sneakers that matched your ghostly outfit.
“We do look good.” You said out loud while exiting your apartment. Sana laughed softly while she was sipping from a cheap bottle of wine.
“Can I also have some?” You asked her uncertain. She didn’t really like to share her drinks. Not that you minded as you usually don’t try to drink too much when going out.
“You’re drinking tonight?” She asked you worried.
“Yes, otherwise I’ll start thinking.” You explained to her, and she handed you the bottle. You took the bottle in both your hands and downed half the bottle in one go.
“I’m not carrying you home tonight.”
“I also don’t want you to carry me. I still have the bruise from last month when you decided to bridal style me.” You giggled already feeling the alcohol in your system.
“I’m glad we’re on the same page.” She told you while putting her arm over your shoulders. “You’re going to be the cutest ghost at the party.”
“You’re going to be the cutest cat at the party.”
“I was going for sexy, but I’ll take it.”
The party was located just a little bit further away from your apartment. It was a frat house where all Sana’s friends were in. It was a shame it was only for boys; otherwise, Sana had already moved out of your shared apartment. When you arrived at the party, you were surprised that there was a line outside. It might have been one of the weirdest things you had ever seen. The sun was softly setting while a line of dressed-up cats and vampires were waiting outside a white picket fence house.
“Sana! You made it.” San screamed, storming out of the house while wearing a tiger suit. Not very Halloween related, but he did look good in the onesie. Who were you kidding? He did look good in everything and anything. It’s unfair, really.
“Of course. Did you ever doubt me?” Sana smiled at San before hugging him.
“No, but I doubted Y/N.” San spoke, hugging you. You did like the fact he recognized you through your ridiculous blanket. You were flattered.
“It has been five weeks, so I thought it was a good time to show my face again.” You joked, letting him go before it got too awkward for a friendly hug.
“Have you been drinking?” He asked you while eying the two of you suspiciously. You looked Sana in the eyes before confirming his suspicion.
“I’ll make you your favourite drink,” San told you while putting his arm over your shoulder, letting you inside. You felt the stares of some people on your back. Why was the hottest frat guy letting a ghost inside when there was a huge line waiting outside? A line filled with sexy cats.
“So, what’s going on?” San asked you while handing you a drink he had just mixed. It was a simple vodka orange, but you really liked the drink. You loved it when San made one for you. You loved it that he remembered what you wanted.
“Nothing much.” You told him honestly. You wanted to shrug your shoulders but didn’t want to seem too pathetic. You did enjoy your life, maybe not to the fullest, but you did do fun stuff.
“Life is more than just existing, you know?” He told you. His eyes were scanning the crowd, and you felt him leaving you. This always happened when you went to these parties. He would be sweet and all over you at first, but when he noticed some fresh meat in his house, he would bolt. Not that anything was going on between the two of you, but you would like for something to be going on.
“You sound like Sana.” You laughed, trying to get his attention back. Maybe you should’ve dressed up as a sexy vampire too. Perhaps he wouldn’t be scanning the crowd but examining your body.
“Maybe you should listen to her.” He told you after taking a long sip of whatever he was drinking. He liked his liquor strong, so it was probably something that should be mixed with a soft drink.
“What’s up in your life?” You asked him softly. You hated how insecure you sounded when San was near.
“We’ve been busy organizing this party, and I’ve been studying.” He told you, finally making eye contact.
“You? Studying?” You asked him with a shocked expression, hiding the blush that was showing in your cheeks.
“Don’t be so surprised. I do study from time to time. I don’t want to be here forever.” He explained after taking another long sip from his cup. Something was going on with him tonight. He’s usually not drinking as much as he was doing now. He did plan this party, and when you organize something you probably shouldn’t be getting drunk.
“That’s not what you said three parties ago.” You joked.
“People change.” He commented, and boy did you hope he could change and recognize your potential. His eyes were fixed on other people again, a  very very sexy vampire to be more correct.
“They can change their habits, but you can not change your core.” You told him, trying to hide your disappointment. Maybe you should give up on San, and try to find a guy yourself in this place. But how could you when San looked so adorable in his tiger suit.
“That’s depressing.” He said monotonously. His head had already left your conversation, but his body was still present.
“I’m a ghost. I’ve seen things, you know.” You tried to lighten the mood, but San wasn’t having it.
“I’m going to look around. See if people are not breaking our stuff.”
“Catch you later.” You told him while he was already out of earshot. He made a straight line to above mentioned sexy vampire, and you had to look away. It wasn’t always like this, you know. There was a time where you and San were kind of best friends. He would study with you in the library. Well, you studied while he was playing games. There was a time where you both went out for dinner and roamed the streets looking for something to do. And suddenly it all changed. He started to ignore you, but he always had an excuse, though. It’s around the same time where he began to fuck his way around campus, making him the number one single guy that girls wanted to tame. But you can’t really tame a tiger. You can change some of its habits, and you can learn it some tricks, but it will never lose its instinct.
You quickly drowned your drink before making your way to the dance floor. There weren’t a lot of people dancing, but that’s how you like your dance floors. You love them to be empty, so you had space to move. You liked the fact that if you simply enjoyed yourself, other people also wanted to dance to get to your level of happiness. You started to make your way to the dance floor when Sana stopped you.
“Y/N! There you are.” She yelled, already looking a bit too tipsy.
“Here I am.” You stated dryly because you really wanted to dance. You weren’t in the mood for talking.
“Please dance with me. The guy I like is here, and I want to show him what he’s missing.” She was slightly slurring, but it did make her look cute. It’s like everything in the world. If it was a bad look on anyone else, Sana made it work for her. She had this gift.
“You like someone?” You asked her with shock written all over your face. Sana doesn’t do dating. She does guys.
“Now is not the time for an explanation. Be my wing woman, please.” She begged you while dragging you to the open space. You followed her and started to dance. You threw your hands in the air and started to shake your whole body to the beat. You almost forgot Sana was dancing right beside you, but she was way too obvious. Her eyes were constantly scanning the crowd while she forgot to move to the rhythm.
“Don’t be so obvious. Dance with me.” You whispered into her ear. You took hold of her hands and spun her around. She quickly forgot her worries and started to have fun with you. It only lasted for a couple of minutes before a guy made his way over to her. He had also brought a friend, but he didn’t really want to be here. You were actually quite sure he didn’t want to be here in this room. His friend was dancing, but he remained still. He did look good, but it was the kind of good-looking where he knew he was handsome.
Sana and the fun guy started to dance together, leaving you alone with the statue. You tried not to care too much, but he was bringing down your vibe. But you couldn’t just go, you had promised to be Sana’s wing woman, and once you take an oath, you stick it out to the end. Or that’s what Rihanna says, and you always listen to Rihanna.
“I’m Seonghwa.” The statue suddenly introduced himself to you.
“Okay.” You told him trying to get into the rhythm of the music.
“What’s your name.” He asked you, still not moving to the beat.
“Casper, the friendly ghost.” The only reason you stayed in his orbit was so Sana could have some alone time with her man.
“That’s a long name, and strangely related to your outfit.” He told you, but he didn’t seem amused. He didn’t really look like the type to smile. He looked more the brooding kind of person. Sitting in a dark room while plotting to kill his worst enemy.
“You’re not even wearing an outfit.” You told him, eying him from his face to his feet, trying to understand the situation. He did have a beautiful body. He was dressed in all black, and you did like your guys to be covered in skinny jeans and leather jackets.
“I have teeth to match the black outfit.” He told you. He must think the only remarkable feature of a vampire was the teeth.
“I still don’t know what you’re supposed to be.” You played dumb.
“A vampire.” He told you, rolling his eyes in the process.
“Okay.” You told him trying to get into the rhythm of the music, again. It’s like he sucked all the fun out of the room with just his presence. There weren’t a lot of people who could do that, but he was the star.
“I’m getting a drink, would you like one?” He asked you after a couple minutes of silence. You quickly nodded your head, but he didn’t seem satisfied.
“What would you like?” He asked you annoyed. Since when do people ask what the other wants to drink. Just get them something. We’re all just trying to get drunk here.
“Anything is fine.” You told him, turning your back to him so you could finally start enjoying the music. You looked for Sana, but she was nowhere to be seen. Good for her, you thought. You did feel a little left out as all the girls were wearing something pretty, and you were covered in a blanket. Maybe you should stop caring what other people think, and finally enjoy yourself. You really did hate parties. They always made you feel like you weren’t part of anything.
Finally, you were dancing. You were shaking your body while laughing, and it felt like you were all alone in the room. But the right kind of alone, where you’re satisfied with purely existing. That existing did get you worked up, and the blanket was soon too much for you to handle. You quickly threw the white sheet of your head and wrapped it around your waist. It felt like you could finally breathe. You wanted it to be like the smell of the air after rain, but it smelled like sweat and alcohol. Still, it was better than suffocating under your costume.
Suddenly you felt some hands snaking around your waist, but you didn’t need to look up to know who it was. When San had a bit too much to drink, he would always come dancing with you. His hands would always find their way to your body, and you didn’t mind at all.
“You look really pretty tonight,” San whispered into your ear, leaving goosebumps all over your body. You turned around and were met with his hungry eyes. He’s never really showed you this side of him, but you were intrigued.
“I’m sorry. Here’s your drink.” Seonghwa interrupted the moment. If you didn’t hate him already, you certainly did now. Why did he have to ruin such a perfect moment? San’s eyes quickly lit up when they landed on Seonghwa, and you couldn’t understand why?
“Hi, Seonghwa,” San said happily. You didn’t know they actually knew each other, but apparently, they did. San knows everybody, and everybody knows San. That’s the golden rule of this place.
“Thanks.” You said before taking the drink that was offered to you. It was vodka mixed with something, and you were actually impressed he didn’t bring you beer or wine.
“If you don’t like it the kitchen is over there,” Seonghwa told you while pointing towards the designated drink station. San laughed beside you, but you simply glared at him.
“I know. I’ve been here before.” You told him firmly. Who the hell was he?
“You have?” Seonghwa asked, not even trying to hide his shocked expression.
“It has been a while since you were here.” San entered the conversation, but you didn’t listen to him. Seonghwa has gotten under your skin, and you weren’t the type to back down.
“Surprised?” You turned your body to Seonghwa while asking him.
“I would’ve recognized you if you were regular.” He simply stated, taking a sip from his red cup. There was a sparkle in his eyes and boy, did you hate that mischievous sparkle.
“Is that a compliment?” You asked him, eying him suspiciously. What was he trying to get out of this situation? He seemed to be rooted in thought, and it didn’t make him look smart if he had to think this long for such a simple question.
“You can take it as a compliment.” He finally said after a few seconds of silence. San was silently examining the two of you, but you were too busy to examine his expression. You simply scoffed at Seonghwa’s answer and made your way to the kitchen. His eyes followed you as you had hoped. You remained eye contact when you drained the whole drink in the sink. A small smile appeared on his face, and it did make him look 100% more attractive, but you tried to ignore it.
“Why are you pouring out a perfectly good drink?” Someone asked you, and you recognized it to be one of Sana’s friends. You think his name was Yunho, but you weren’t sure.
“It wasn’t my taste.” You simply told him while pouring yourself a new drink.
“Always a troublemaker.” He grinned. You silently took a sip of your drink while Yunho was eying you. Both of you stood there for a couple of minutes before Seonghwa made his way over to the kitchen.
“You should’ve told me you what you wanted.” He whispered into your ear, sending shivers over your body. You didn’t like the fact that he was having an effect on you.
“Seonghwa. I didn’t think you would still be here. You usually bolt when the house is full.” Yunho exclaimed in surprise when Seonghwa was done annoying you.
“I feel like staying a little longer tonight,” Seonghwa said with his eyes locked on you.
“You guys want to dance?” Yunho asked both of you while softly moving out of the kitchen. You quickly nodded your head before following him. Yunho was a great dancer, and like you, didn’t really mind acting a bit weird on the dance floor. You felt Someone’s hands on your waist the moment you started dancing, but you didn’t care, thinking it was San again. After a couple of minutes, you noticed San kissing Someone else on the other side of the room, and you quickly turned around. In the end, sexy vampires always won.
“You.” You stated with venom in your voice. Seonghwa just shrugged, and kept his hands on your body, guiding you through the rhythm. He was actually a good dancer, and you were impressed. Why couldn’t he dance like this when you first met?
“I don’t mind making him jealous,” Seonghwa whispered into your ear, still moving your body with his hands. You couldn’t move on your own. Seeing San kiss somebody else always hurt. It wasn’t the first time you had seen it, but it still left a nasty taste in your mouth.
“What?” You asked Seonghwa.
“Use me to make San jealous. Isn’t that the guy you like?” He told you with his hand cupping your face.
“How?” You asked him, moving his hand off your face. It felt way too intimate with the way he looked at you. You barely knew the guy.
“You’re not very subtle.” He laughed softly, turning you around in his arms. Your back was now pressed against him while he kept moving your body to the beat.
“What?” You asked him, moving your head to look up at him.
“You’re eyes light up when he’s near.” He explained in your ear, leaving you breathless for a moment.
“You’ve known me for five minutes, and you think you can read me?” You asked him, shocked. Who was he to understand your feelings? Even Sana didn’t know about your little unhealthy crush on the fine young man she called her friend.
“If you don’t want to use me, that’s fine.” Seonghwa said while removing his hands from your body. You immediately missed the warmth and turned around to face him again.
“No.” You said quickly, putting his hands on your waist again. This time you placed your hands around his neck and moved your body close enough for him to feel every curve.
“That’s more like it.” His low voice was very close to your ear, surprising you. You looked at him, but he was already looking at you. His eyes softened a little bit, but you felt his hands scanning your body. Surprisingly, you didn’t mind Seonghwa touching you. It was oddly comforting and oddly familiar.
“San is fucking weird for not wanting you. If a girl like you looked at me like that, I would do everything in my power to make her happy.” He said after dancing to a couple of songs. To be honest, you didn’t care what music they were playing. You were so lost in the presence of Seonghwa, you didn’t mind moving wrongly to the beat.
“Is this a confession, Seonghwa?” You asked him softly while your hands were locked in his dark black hair. The moment you touched his hair, you didn’t want to let go. It was so soft, and this combined with his smell, made you lose a sense of what to do in situations like this.
“Don’t flatter yourself too much.” He whispered into your ear, breaking eye contact. His lips softly brushed against your skin, leaving you shuddering in want. “But I think this is working.” He said while is hands started to explore your body again. He was close to your ass but seemed to hold himself back. He didn’t want to make you uncomfortable. He might seem a bit straightforward, but he didn’t want to make you feel awkward. He didn’t want to use you, and you felt grateful.
“Thank you.” You whispered into his ear, and you felt him tensing up beneath you. He quickly tore his body of you, leaving you confused.
“I’ll see you around.” He told you before leaving you alone on the dance floor, confused. Why did he go so suddenly? You were actually having fun with him. Did he really spend time with you just to make San jealous? Wasn’t he enjoying himself while dancing with you?
act three: *pats my own shoulder* it’s gonna be okay dumb bitch
“You’re home late.” You said when Sana entered your shared apartment the next morning. You couldn’t sleep due to alcohol and a boy named Seonghwa, so you were up early. “Or early. It kind of depends on your perspective.” You laughed when you saw her shocked expression. Her make-up was gone, and she had her shoes in hand. She looked like the definition of a walk of shame.
“Before you judge me. I didn’t do anything sexual. We actually talked all night and fell asleep. Wooyoung is a real gentleman.” She stated, trying to defend herself. Which she has never really done before. Usually, she would tell you about the guy’s penis and if he could work with it or not.
“You still kissed him as your lipstick is smudged.” You laughed. She went to sit next to you on the couch while holding your hand. She had a lovesick look on her face, and it looked adorable on her. Any other girl would seem a bit pathetic, but as always Sana made it work.
“It wasn’t a sexual kiss. It was a passionate yet soft kiss.” She explained while hearts were flying out of her eyes. She was in love, and she couldn’t hide it any longer.
“You’re living the romantic comedy life. I’ve never seen you so soft.”
“Don’t get used to it.” She stated before walking to the bathroom, leaving you alone with your thoughts again. Your thoughts consisted of San kissing Someone else passionately, and Seonghwa leaving you alone on the dance floor when things were finally starting. He said it had worked to make San jealous, but you hadn’t seen San afterwards. He probably went to fuck that sexy vampire, so Seonghwa’s little game hadn’t worked in your opinion.
“What are you thinking so hard about?” Sana asked coming out of the bathroom, freshly washed in her pink pyjamas.
“Nothing.” You told her trying to hide the blush that crept over your face.
“Is it maybe the guy from last night?” She tried again, and you couldn’t hide your blush anymore.
“Do you know him?” You asked her uncertain. You never really talked about guys with Sana. She told you her stories, but you never really did.
“Seonghwa? Everyone knows him.” She told you, turning on the tv.
“That doesn’t sound good.” You told her trying to get more comfortable under your blanket. Sana put on something random about blind dating on Netflix, but you weren’t really paying attention.
“He’s a nice guy. He’s in the frat, but not really party-minded.” She told you, and you simply hummed in acknowledgement. That’s something you had already figured out.
“I’m sorry if he bothered you,” Sana told you apologetically, but you quickly shook your head.
“It’s fine. It did give you some alone time with Wooyoung.” You told her finally looking at her, and you noticed her already looking at you. She was studying your face, but you put on your best poker face.
“And I’m really thankful.” She told you before returning her attention to the large television.
“He’s actually quite a playboy. Don’t worry too much about the things he might have said.” She started the conversation again you so desperately wanted to drop.
“He seemed like an asshole.” You told her earnestly.
“Really?” She asked you, but you simply nodded your head again. She didn’t seem to know what to say after your remark.
“I don’t want to go to work.” You told Sana after watching two episodes of the dating program. It had drained all the energy out of your body, and both of you hated the program, but couldn’t stop watching. That’s the problem with reality TV, but also the beauty of it. You could forget everything for a moment while you watched a TV show that reduced the cells in your brain.
“Don’t go.”
“I need the money to afford this apartment.” You whined before getting up from the comfortable couch. “Don’t you dare watch the other episodes without me.” You told her on your way to the bathroom to freshen up.
“I wouldn’t dare.” She laughed while continuing to watch the episode you told her not to watch without you. You didn’t really mind, though. You would’ve watched without her too if she was the one leaving.
“What can I get you?” You asked the customer before you. He seemed to be in deep thought, but you were used to it. The place you worked had the weirdest coffee names in history, and people always took five minutes before deciding witch poison they would like.
“I’d like a venomous teaser.” The customer told you uncertain, and you knew he wouldn’t be coming here again. Some people loved the weird names, and others would just like to order an americano without having to call it something else.
“Coming right up.” You told him in your fake customer voice. He did seem to relax a bit more by your kindness.
“Venomous teaser.” You called out, and the guy quickly took the drink you offered him and bolted straight through the door. You were left alone in the shop as there were no other employees or customers.
At first, you hated being alone in a shop that wasn’t yours, but you grew to like it. You could choose the music. You could sing and dance to your heart’s delight. It was actually quite freeing. This could only happen on Saturday morning shifts as this was the moment no one really came in for a cup of coffee. Most students on campus were sleeping or recovering from last night. Professors weren’t seen during the weekends, probably spending their free time with their families.
“Wow, you dance way better than you can sing.” Someone said out loud before entering the shop. You turned around, looking straight into the eyes of the main character of your thoughts.
“Hi San! What are you doing here?” You smiled. You always smiled when you saw San. He always looked good, and he always made you feel really good. Have you ever met someone who radiates warmth like the sun on a spring day? Well, to you, San was like a ray of sunshine, warming you up to your core.
“I wanted to surprise you.” He told you excitedly.
“What can I get you?” You asked him when he didn’t elaborate more. You also didn’t know what to say. San hasn’t visited you for over two months. Why did he so suddenly enter the coffeeshop now?
“Whatever you think is worthy for my tiny hangover.” He smiled while leaning on the counter. He was dressed in comfortable clothing, but to you, he still looked like he just came from the catwalk. He once received an offer to model for some unknown company, but he refused. He was shyer back then. If Someone asked him today, he would probably accept.
“Coming right up.” You told him while staring his drink. An iced coffee would be best for his upset stomach. Something that wasn’t too strong. He kept looking at you while you were making his drink, and you started to get uncomfortable.
“So, you and Seonghwa?” San suddenly asked you, and you couldn’t hide the shock on your face. Had he seen you dancing with Seonghwa? Had he seen that your hands were curled into his hair while dancing rather seductively.
“What about Seonghwa?” You asked him shyly. You couldn’t look him into the eyes. He could always see right through you after years of knowing each other.
“You seemed to like his presence.” He told you softly, and you couldn’t figure out what his issue was. Could he be jealous? Probably not. He’s not the type to get jealous, and you should’ve figured that out yesterday when Seonghwa suggested making San jealous.
“Not really. He’s kind of rude.” You told him honestly. Yes, you thought he was hot. That didn’t mean you thought highly of him. Your body and brain were two separate identities.
“I’ve known Seonghwa for a while now. He usually doesn’t talk to someone he doesn’t know for that long.” San explained his thought process.
“Oh, we were both the chosen wingmen for our friends. Sana and Wooyoung are courting each other.” You told San while finishing up his drink.
“Oh.” Was the only thing he said.
“Here’s your drink.” You gave him his iced coffee, but he didn’t seem to care about the drink.
“So, you don’t like him?” He asked you again, making you frustrated. Why did he suddenly care about your life?
“Why is this information so important to you?” You asked him with your annoyance barely hidden.
“Because you never like anyone.” He told you after taking a sip from the coffee.
“How do you know? You only see me at parties. You don’t know what I do and don’t do outside of these events.” You readily blamed him. The first weeks were hard when he decided to ditch you for one night stands, but after a while, you got used to it thanks to Sana. But you still felt a bit mad toward him, even though he hadn’t actually done anything wrong. Everyone had the right to decide who could play an active part in their life, and San had decided you weren’t good enough anymore. That’s life, but you would’ve liked an explanation.
“Is there anyone you like?” He asked you softly, trying to read your reaction. Luckily for you, you had mastered the art of the poker face.
“Again, why is this so important to you?” You asked him harshly. He dropped his shoulders before answering your question. He looked like a beaten dog, but you didn’t feel guilty.
“Can I not care about my best friend?” He told you softly, trying to maintain the eye contact you decided to avoid.
“We haven’t been best friends for months now.” You told him, turning your body to clean something imaginary. You heard him scoff before he left you alone. Maybe Seonghwa’s tactic had worked and did you actually make San jealous with your behaviour of last night.
act four: men are attractive only if they are completely and absolutely unattainable
Fuck. You were going to be late to class. You didn’t want the professor to think you were late due to not being the top of your class anymore. On the contrary, you wanted to show your dedication to the subject. You wanted to show her that you were way better than the other person that had dethroned you.
“Hold the door.” You yelled through the hallway. The student who wanted to close the door looked startled by your loud voice. He didn’t close the door, so you were incredibly thankful.
“Thank you so so so much.” You told him while entering the classroom. The class hadn’t started yet, but everyone seemed to be present. You hated being one of the last ones to enter as your usual spot would be taken. You didn’t like sitting in the back as you couldn’t see the screen very well, but you also hated being in front because you thought everyone was looking at you. You decided to take a seat at the front as not too many people were there. You didn’t want to be distracted by other people who didn’t take this class seriously. They would just scroll through tinder or Instagram without taking notes, and you didn’t really want to be associated with any of that.
“Look who we have here?” Someone spoke up when you had just finished taking out your iPad for note-taking. You turned around and were surprised to see Seonghwa. He wore the same kind of clothing like the last time you had seen him. Black and comfortable. He didn’t wear the vampire teeth today though.
“Seonghwa?” You asked, shocked. You had never seen the man in this class before. Well, you couldn’t really tell who was in your class, but you would’ve recognized Seonghwa. Or so you thought.
“Don’t be so surprised.” He said while taking the seat next to you. You felt everyone’s eyes on the two of you, but you tried to ignore it.
“What are you doing?” You asked him. A guy like him wasn’t the type of person to just sit casually next to you.
“I’m taking this seat.” He stated before taking out his laptop. He probably just used it for playing games instead of taking notes. You hoped he would at least be quietly playing.
“Why?” You asked him again. Some girls changed their seats to sit closer to Seonghwa, and your point was proven. Someone like Seonghwa doesn’t just sit next to someone like you. Suddenly the front rows were filled with more people.
“If you don’t want to sit next to me, just say so.” He told you not trying to hide his annoyance with you. Some people greeted him, but he seemed to ignore every one of his fangirls. Which they didn’t really take well.
“It’s fine.” You ended the conversation. The teacher had just entered, and you hated to miss a moment of class because of a rowdy neighbour.
“But please, keep your entourage quiet.” You ended the conversation.
“They’re not my friends.” He told you loudly, making some people turn their heads in surprise.
“Do they know?” You asked him softly, not trying to make more people notice the two of you talking.
“Some people just want attention, and my attention you have to earn.” He quickly explained while simultaneously taking notes.
“I didn’t do anything to earn your attention.” You remarked, which resulted in him giving you a small smile. Your competitiveness ass liked the fact he had given you a smile and a response and didn’t even glance at the other girls trying to get recognition.
“True. So be quiet. I’m trying to pay attention.” He told you, and you simply scoffed. You had asked him to be quiet first, but you couldn’t help but smile.
It was challenging to listen to the teachers’ words when Seonghwa’s hands were distracting you. He kept typing on his laptop, and you quickly learned he was actually writing everything down what the teacher had said. He even added some remarks of himself. You were surprised to learn that Seonghwa was actually a good student. He lived in a frat house that threw the wildest parties on campus. He was apparently known as a semi fuck boy. And he wasn’t really nice at all. So yes, you were surprised he actually went to class, let alone take excellent notes you would want to copy.
“Is there anything you need?” He asked you after you stared at his hands for the tenth time under an hour. His hands were a perfect representation of his handsomeness. He’s slim, muscular with an almost perfectly symmetrical face. Everyone seemed to love him, they seem to be drawn to him. You noticed it with your friend San at the party. You see it here in the auditorium, where everyone seems to hang on his every word, and reciprocating his smile. If he wanted he could have more friends than days in a year, but somehow he sat next to you. Somehow he had kept by your side at the party, not wanting to interact with anyone else.
“No.” You quickly recovered your thoughts, taking a look at your almost blank note app. You sighed and returned your attention to the teacher. Seonghwa stopped typing for a while, giving you some space to get into the zone of note-taking. You felt his eyes on you, but you barely noticed his intense stare.
Class was quickly over after you had found your rhythm again. You had ignored Seonghwa for the remainder and kept on taking notes like your life depended on it. It actually did, you really needed to be top of your class as this was the only lesson you could excel in. You needed to have an almost perfect average to get to your favourite internship.
“Have you talked to San?” Seonghwa asked you when you were putting all your stuff in your bag. You looked up at him in surprise. He was all packed and ready to go but waited for you to follow him.
“I’ve seen him.” You told him, speeding up your packing process.
“And?” He asked you again, waiting for a more juicy story, but there wasn’t really one.
“I don’t really know him anymore.” You confessed to him. Apparently, Seonghwa was the only one you could talk about this stuff. You didn’t want to burden Sana with your crush on one of her friends. You also didn’t know many people outside of the frat house, which made talking about San a bit awkward.
“Well, I do, and I can say he was most definitely jealous. He has asked me hundredth of questions about you. He has never been interested in the girls I’ve danced with.” Seonghwa explained to you, but you were more interested in his girls.
“Do you dance with other girls? I thought you only took them upstairs?” You asked him while winking at him. He looked amused by your behaviour, and he suddenly changed into a more relaxed person.
“I was polite. He’s never been interested in the girls I hook up with.” He laughed while remaining eye contact. You had left the auditorium, walking toward the exit of the building. You didn’t have any other classes today, but your shift would start in an hour. You didn’t know if Seonghwa still had classes, but you didn’t ask. Not wanting the moment to end. It was nice to talk to someone.
“Because we didn’t hook up.” You told him, pointing at the two of you while simultaneously shaking your head.
“I don’t think San knows that.” Seonghwa told you, holding open the door for you. You thanked him softly before making your way outside. He could be nice if he wanted to apparently.
“He was too busy shoving his tongue in another girl’s throat.” You said, stopping in front of the building you just exited.
“I think if we continue what we started last Friday, we can make him realize he actually likes you too.” Seonghwa told you, shoving his hands in his pockets. How his big hands could fit into the tiny pockets of his skinny jeans was beyond you.
“Why would you do that? What’s in it for you?” You asked him suspiciously. You mimicked his behaviour by hiding your hands in your hoodie.
“Maybe I could get rid of my fuck boy image.” He told you honestly, and you couldn’t hold in your laughter. Did he realize how ridiculous he sounded? A fuck boy could never get rid of his title.
“But you are a fuck boy.” You told him a matter of factly, and you thought you saw hurt crossing over his eyes, but he quickly covered it up.
“I’m actually not a fuck boy, thank you very much.” He told you defensively.
“What are you?” You asked him genuinely interested in his answer. Somehow you wanted to know more about the boy named Seonghwa. He’s just a walking contradiction, and not in a profound way. He just seemed to be someone who still hadn’t figured himself out. And that’s okay, not everyone knew what they wanted in life. Including you, but you felt like you were on a better track than Seonghwa.
“I always think I’m in love and realize too late that I’m actually not.” He told you while avoiding your eyes. It was weird to see Seonghwa so shy and vulnerable, but it did tickle your interest.
“Love isn’t for everyone, you know.” You told him softly. He looked up and his eyes connected with yours, both of you smiling. To other people, it might look like you two were something more than acquaintances.
“That’s depressing.” He finally said, hiding his smile, but he couldn’t fool you anymore.
“I never said I was good company.” You laughed while crossing your arms. You actually needed to go to your part-time job, but something was keeping you here. That thing being Seonghwa.
“I never thought you were.” He said so quickly you almost believed him, but the look in his eyes told you he was just teasing you. Or at least, you hoped.
“That hurts. I thought you wanted to date me.” You said while pretending to be hurt by his words. You pouted while glaring at him, but he seemed unfazed.
“Fake dating.” He emphasized.
“Potato, potato.” You shrugged. “As much as I like standing in front of buildings, I really need to go.” You told him while waving your hand, signalling you were leaving him.
“Wait.” He said a bit too loudly, making people turn their heads. You turned around, giving him a confused look.
“I’ll walk you.” He explained while walking up to you.
“You don’t have to.” You told him softly with blushing cheeks.
“If we’re going to fake date, we’ve got to make it believable.” He told you determinately.
“I actually don’t want to fake date.” You confessed silently, not wanting to hurt his feeling or anything. He seemed so pleased with the fake dating thing, but you really weren’t a fan.
“Am I not handsome enough for your high standards?” He joked, and your body finally relaxed. He didn’t seem like the type of person to push other people into doing something they were uncomfortable with.
“It’s not that, but I’ve read many stories and watched many movies. It’s never a good idea to fake date.” You explained.
“Are you scared you’ll fall in love with me?” He laughed while poking your side teasingly. You couldn’t control your laugh when his hands touched your side.
“I’m more scared that you’ll fall in love with me. You just confessed to me that you easily fall in love.” You told him when he had stopped attacking your sides.
“Touché.” He ended the conversation while maintaining his spot next to you. You were almost at the coffee shop you worked at, and you didn’t know what Seonghwa was going to do when you finally got to your destination.
“Let’s be friends.” He suddenly spoke up. You stopped walking and just stared at him. Why would Someone like him want to be friends with someone like you? Like you had stated before if he wished he could have more friends than days in a year.
“I don’t really take any applications at the moment, but I’ll consider if you’re worthy enough.” You told him, and you started walking again, leaving him behind. He quickly jogged to your side, not wanting to miss a moment of the conversation.
“How long will it take?” He asked you eagerly.
“Usually two to five business days.” You shrugged, keeping your cool.
“Is there a way to speed up the process?” His question caught you off guard. Why was he so determined to be your friend? What game was he playing?
“That’s something for you to figure out.” You told him, stopping in front of the coffee shop you worked at.
“Can I get a hint?” He pleaded with his eyes big and eager. You hadn’t seen him like this before, and your cold heart melted just a little bit.
“I trust you can do this on your own.” You told him while opening the door. He followed you inside. “My shift starts in a couple of minutes. Are you planning to help out?” You asked him abruptly.
“I could use a coffee.” He simply stated.
“You can order there.” You pointed at the right spot to order where your coworker was playing on her phone.
“I’ll wait until you start working.” He said, and you looked puzzled by his words. “It gives me some time to think about what I want.” He explained quickly. You nodded your head and made your way to the back room.
“Do you know Seonghwa?” The girl who’s shift was about to end asked you. You simply nodded your head, not wanting to draw too much attention to your blossoming friendship with the handsome man.
“Can you like introduce me to him? He’s just so damn dreamy.” She kept on talking while you were changing into your work clothes. You had never really spoken to her. Well, you had tried but she usually just ignored you. You didn’t really know what to do with this attention she was giving you.
“I don’t really know him that well, to be honest.” You confessed to her, but she didn’t want to take no for an answer.
“I just tried to get him to order with me, but he was waiting until you started working. You seem to know each other pretty well to me.” She spat.
“He probably just needs some time to think. We don’t have the most basic orders here.” You tried to fight yourself out of the awkward situation. You put on your cap and made your way to the bar. Seonghwa’s face lit up once he noticed you in your work outfit.
“Never wear a cap again.” He joked, but you simply glared at him. You felt the eyes of your coworker on your back, but as always you tried to ignore them.
“What can I get you?” You asked him politely, and he seemed taken aback by your change of attitude.
“What can you recommend?” He asked you softly while looking at the menu over your head. You had carefully written the menu on the chalkboard a couple weeks ago.
“I don’t know what you like.” You told him.
“I like something sweet.” He said while winking at you, and your heart almost combusted by his cuteness. Why was he doing these things to you? What did these things work on you?
“Okay, I can work with that.” You smiled softly at him while prepping his order.
“Are you coming to the party this Friday?” He asked with his elbows propped on the bar while his head rested on his hands. Your coworker nearly choked on her drink, but Seonghwa ignored her presence altogether.
“I usually don’t go for two weeks in a row.” You explained to him while giving him his iced coffee with some whipped cream.
“But I’ll be there.” He pleaded with his adorable puppy eyes.
“You live there. I hope you’re there.” Was all you said.
“Isn’t that enough reason for you to come?” His lips formed into a pout, but you remained calm and unfazed by his actions. You never went out two weeks in a row, and Seonghwa wasn’t going to change your routine.
“I’ll be going.” Your coworker suddenly entered the conversation. You and Seonghwa both looked at her with questionable eyes.
“See, you’ll have company.” You tried to cut through the awkward atmosphere that had formed.
Do you know anyone to get in? It’s more like a private event this Friday.” Seonghwa quickly dismissed the girl’s self invitation.
“I know you, maybe you can get me in?” She asked him seductively. You noticed she had popped open a button or two extra of her shirt. You rolled your eyes at her behaviour and noticed Seonghwa wasn’t affected by her tries at all.
“I’m already taking Y/N.” He told her off, turning his attention back to you. A small smile appeared on his face, but you quickly shook your head.
“Seonghwa, I already told you I’m not going.” You pleaded with him?. You really didn’t want to go.
“Please?” He asked you softly.
“No!” You practically yelled at him.
“For me?” His low voice making you doubt your persistence. Would it be so bad to go for two weeks in a row to a party? You were a good student. Everyone knew that.
“Why?” You challenged him.
“Because I enjoy your company.” He looked please by your question, noticing your wall crumbling down.
“Because I don’t open some extra buttons of my blouse when you’re near?” You asked him sarcastically, and you heard your coworker cough in the background. Served her right. Karma’s a bitch.
“I wouldn’t mind if you popped them open.” Seonghwa seductively said while winking at you, but you quickly covered your chest.
“Seonghwa!” You yelled at him, but a smile showed him you weren’t mad at him for this dumb comment.
“I’m sorry, but please, think about it. I’ll add your name to the list.” He told you, taking a drink of the cold beverage.
“Two to five business days.” You simply told him.
“See ya!” He yelled out before exiting the coffee shop with his iced coffee in hand. Your eyes followed him out until he couldn’t be seen anymore. Your coworker left the shop while glaring at you, but you didn’t care. You were actually quite pleased with yourself for once.

Kurenai-ing! a (not) review~
Tumblr media
This is NOT a review, but it IS all my thoughts on Kurenai Yuzuru’s first concert as an OG, Kurenai-ing!! in chronological order as they happened in the show. These thoughts are:
Biased
All over the place
Unfiltered
Honest
Every single one of them is loving and positive
Without further ado!
To start off, from the day this was announced, there was absolutely No Way In Hell I was going to miss this show. They found a way to cast all my favorite OGs, somehow including Uzuki Hayate who wasn’t even ever IN Hoshigumi, (save for Airi and Kai, F, but I see Kai like every day). Today was emotionally weird and I felt off heading to the theatre but honestly, before the lights even went down, when BENIKO began her preshow speech over the intercom? Any bad thing that’s ever been in my life just MELTED away.
The evening started off with “紅 in Male Role” which was just her as you’re used her her in otokoyaku mode. The whole cast got introduced. My love, Ichijou Azusa was the first onstage which rocked. Everyone did Killer Rouge. There was something REALLY sweet about seeing like a bunch of people who Were in Killer Rouge vs. a bunch of people who Weren’t In Killer Rouge all slaying it. Watching Toshi do this number made me daydream about a universe where she was in Hoshigumi and also a universe where I’m married to her. This daydream repeated itself multiple times throughout the evening so I’m gonna denote those moments with a (**). Whenever you see (**) know I was thinking about being probably married to Uzuki Hayate. This was the only point in the show in which I was skeptical of the men being there. I don’t LIKE men, period, but I especially don’t need them in my Takarazuka- adjacent material. (They quickly changed my mind in the next bit of the show.) After the men and Beni all dipped offstage, our Lovely Flawless Incredible OGs (Ichijou Azusa, Kisaragi Ren, Uzuki Hayate, Toa Reiya, Katori Reira, and Umesaki Eve, sang Sayonara Minasama (yeah like... the song they play when people retire or when QR is closing or when they need you to Get Out Of The Theatre.) No one could hear it because everyone was busy laughing. Renta was, as expected, completely unhinged, Shiiran was fake crying, it was a disaster because honestly, I don’t know who looked at these women and was like ‘yeah let’s give them free reign of the stage what’s the worst that could happen?’ It was one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen, and then, the curtain just straight up went down as if the show ended.
Of course it DIDN’T. NEXT UP?
BENIKO! She’s back in all her long haired leopard print glory, strutting through the audience through the stage- this time waiting for her? two pieces of mancandy (Kominami Ryuhei and Tagoku Tsubasa) at her beck and call in the ??? PALACE OF VERSAILLES, I GUESS? This was, as all Beniko bits, an improv standup show with a more than a touch of drag sensibility. There was some booty shaking, some fake muscle suits on the slender men, and a lot of laughter. I had tears in my eyes and I have NEVER heard a Japanese audience make this much noise. One of the guys made Beni break when he laughed in the middle of his line, causing Beni to buckle over and snort into her water, it was just.. a treat. These men were NOT equipped to handle Beniko- but then, without practice, who is?
When this all ended, there was a BURST of flame on the screen and standing, sihouetted in backlight, was Toshi(**), looking like (**) I dunno like the worlds hottest woman rockstar (**) and if that wasn’t enough (**) then she STARTED SINGING AND YOU GUYS?
WHAT THE FUCK?
I feel like a lot of things that have happened in Takarazuka are unjust, including several Top Star Careers That Never Were, but as of tonight, the TOP OF THAT LIST is that Toshi never MADE IT. Also that like I never made it to her ochakai. There is another world out there where Toshi has been My Person since day one and I am still in her fanclub to this day. I’d be lying if I told you I wasn’t like  searching her name on Twitter as we speak trying to find out what Her OG club deal right now is, not that I need to be in ANOTHER OG club, (long story,), but GOD. Holy hell. Her voice is absolutely TOP notch and she was (**) BELTING out this introductory piece and I don’t think I breathed during the whole thing. It was HARD ROCK (**) you guys. (**) (**) (***********************************************************************************************)
From there we had a Takarazuka Medley (labeled in the program as “紅 in neutral”- sense a theme here?)
The medley featured bits from:
Lucky Star!
Gemini (Beni’s infamous girl/boy number from Etoile)
Bouquet de Takarazuka
Stuck Together from Catch Me If You Can, (featuring Renta as Kai’s part, which, oof, I can not wait for Kai to get to see.)
Estrellas
The theme song from Kamatari
Another World (just the first bars of this backing music got laughs)
Om Shanti Om
the God of Stars prologue (and you guys? I would have NEVER expected it but both me and the lady next to me just started CRYING once Beni kicked in with the 今!始まる!素敵な冒険! bit. We shared a look and like laughed at ourselves. I did NOT see that coming but... more thoughts on Benigumi later. Just know that Dear Reader, I cried.)
Eclair Brillant
Bolero
A Piece of Courage
A song that the program cites as Quimbara which I actually didn’t recognize but (NSFW BELOW, DON’T LOOK IF YOU’RE UNDERAGE, DON’T LOOK IF YOU’RE HANKYU, DON’T LOOK IF YOU’RE GONNA SLIDE INTO MY DMS ABOUT ME NEEDING TO HONOR THE SUMIRE CODE OR WHATEVER because shut UP we all have DESIRES, MA’AM,) I spent the whole time with my eyes fucking transfixed on Shiiran out of everyone in the cast because between her time on the ground and her time idk standing and flirting and making bedroom eyes and like touching people with the tips of her fingers she was just in general doing some NASTY shit with her mouth and pulling girls around and I don’t know if she was playing aggressor or hard to get (or BOTH???? AT THE SAME TIME????) but she sure was grinding on Umesaki Eve and I guess what I’m trying to say is I could physically not breathe. I could say more about what she was getting up to but for like, frankly, my own dignity in this Starbucks I’m gonna leave that memory where it belongs.... in the confessional booth at church.
The medley ended with Beni doing a song from Mozart (but like, not the Mozart that Hoshigumi just did.)
I can not make this up but the program calls the next section of the show “紅 in the Flashy.”
This is where one of Tokyo’s special guests, Miya Rurika, pops up in the same rockstar style as Toshi(**) and I admit I actually thought she was Renta until the audience lost their shit. Guys, Miya looks BEAUTIFUL right now. Her and Beni both seem to be growing their hair out but right now Miya especially has this gorgeous blonde like wavy thing going on and really? Feminine makeup and honestly I was kind of transfixed by her. She sang her song and then was around forrrrrrr
All the Kurenai 5 material! Kurenai 5 (or 4, minus Tenju Mitsuki who is very much currently Acting In A Takarauka show) took over the next bit of the show was and it was every bit as precious as you’d hope. First of all, the way they play off each other is SURREAL and like nothing has changed between them. While I’m sure stuff HAS CHANGED, the love and the fun they have for and with each other has not. They encored some of their old songs, and you’ll be pleased to know that Tenju Mitsuki was present in cardboard cutout form, pushed around on a tiny wheeled platform by Katori Reira (who may I just add, along with Umesaki Eve, made every song they were in sound like there was a whole troupe worth of musumeyaku onstage. Girl can SING.) Beni turned to sneeze at one point and sneezed directly into Miya’s mic on accident.  They also played a video message from Mikkii. It still took a while for the cardboard cutout to stop being funny. My favorite part of this segment was when Beni cracked Renta up and kept giving her shit until she was on the floor laughing and unable to say what she had been trying to say and then Shiiran straight up took the mic out of Renta’s hands and spoke for her. さすが、Shiiran.
The show was winding down at this point, but Beniko made a reappearance (”BENIKO in DELUSION”, according to the program). We transitioned out of that ad lib with a number for the ladies, Reira and Eve. It was boppy and jazzy and idolly and I got the idea into my head somewhere in here that Katori Reira HAS to play either Velma or Roxie in Chicago before either of us die and if I have to personally fund that happening, well, help me find my wallet because I’m off to the bank.
During this Beni changed into... not her otokoyaku clothes again but not BENIKO, just, herself, but girly. (Program calls this: 紅 in Feminine).  She does a speech about herself and what she wants out of the future and whether she wants to be called a 女優 (explicitly FEMALE actress) or not post-TKZ, and somewhere in here she had a talk with Utahiroba Jun, another man who is completely and utterly obsessed with her, and rightfully so. He was a guest but didn’t actually perform aside from with EVERYONE in one song.) Beni rounds out the concert in a beautiful dress singing her heart out and I’m truly really touched by how far she’s come and how beautifully she performs.
There were, as there tend to be, like 83746958 encores(**) and people running on and off stage.
This was without a doubt one of the best nights of my life. I laughed until I cried, I straight up Normal Cried, I couldn’t Breathe for my like, unsumire thoughts, I was touched, and I was so so happy. Beni is my all-time favorite top star and probably always will be, and more than a singer or actress or dancer or comedian, Beni I think embodies the title of “entertainer” better than anyone I’ve ever personally had the pleasure to watch onstage or off. Watching her has made ME want to take more risks in performance and in life and to just do my best with everything life throws at me. Tonight she was so much of the Beni we all got to know and love in Takarazuka, but like, unleashed and able to be her truest, funniest, biggest, most loving self. Her ability to talk to the audience and everyone onstage and keep character and keep her humor and balance without missing a beat is unparalleled.  I really, truly love this woman, and I am so so so happy I got to see this incredible kickoff of her OG career.
If I think of more, I’ll add it, but for now, as Beni hersef finished off the night by saying: Go your own way!!

Propaganda
Anna May Wong (The Thief of Bagdad, Shanghai Express)—Wong was the first Chinese American movie star, arguably the first Asian woman to make it big in American films. Though the racism of the time often forced her into stereotypical roles, awarded Asian leading roles to white actors in yellowface, and prohibited on-screen romance between actors of different races, she delivered powerful and memorable performances. When Hollywood bigotry got to be too much, she made movies in Europe. Wong was intellectually curious, a fashion icon, and a strong advocate for authentic Asian representation in cinema. And, notably for the purposes of this tournament, absolutely gorgeous.
Josephine Baker (The Siren of the Tropics, ZouZou)— Josephine Baker was an American born actress, singer, and utter icon of the period, creating the 1920s banana skirt look. She was the first black woman to star in a major motion film. She fought in the French resistance in WWII, given a Legion of Honour, as well as refusing to perform in segregated theatres in the US. She was bisexual, a fighter, and overall an absolutely incredible woman as well as being extremely attractive.
This is round 6 of the tournament. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. Please reblog with further support of your beloved hot sexy vintage woman.
[additional propaganda submitted under the cut.]
Anna May Wong propaganda:
Tumblr media
"She so so gorgeous!! Due to Hollywood racism she was pretty limited in the roles she got to play but even despite that she’s so captivating and deserves to be known as a leading lady in her own right!! When she’s on screen in Shanghai Express I can’t look away, which is saying something because Marlene Dietrich is also in that film."
Tumblr media
"SHE IS ON THE BACK OF QUARTERS also she was very smart and able to speak multiple languages and is a fashion icon on top of the acting/singing"
Tumblr media
"Paved the way for Asian American actresses AND TOTAL HOTTIE!!! She broke boundaries and made it her mission to smash stereotypes of Asian women in western film (at the time, they were either protrayed them as delicate and demure or scheming and evil). In 1951, she made history with her television show The Gallery of Madame Liu-Tsong, the first-ever U.S. television show starring an Asian-American series lead (paraphrased from Wikipedia). Also, never married and rumor has it that she had an affair with Marlene Dietrich. We love a Controversial Queen!"
Tumblr media
"She's got that Silent Era smoulder™ that I think transcends the very stereotypical roles in which she was typically cast. Also looks very hot smouldering opposite Marlene Dietrich in "Shanghai Express"; there's kiss energy there."
Tumblr media
"Hot as hell and chronically overlooked in her time, she's truly phenomenal and absolutely stunning"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"A story of stardom unavoidably marred by Hollywood racism; Wong's early-career hype was significantly derailed by the higher-up's reluctance to have an Asian lead, and things only got worse when the Hayes code came down and she suddenly *couldn't* be shown kissing a white man--even if that white man was in yellowface. After being shoved into the Dragon Lady role one too many times, she took her career to other continents for many years. Still, she came back to America eventually, being more selective in her roles, speaking out against Asian stereotypes, and in the midst of all of this finding the time to be awarded both the title of "World's Best Dressed Woman" by Mayfair Mannequin Society of New York and an honorary doctorate by Peking University."
Tumblr media
"Incredible beauty, incredible actress, incredible story."
Tumblr media
"-flapper fashion ICON. look up her fits please <3 -rumors of lesbianism due to her Close Friendships with marlene dietrich & cecil cunningham, among others -leveraged her star power to criticize the racist depictions of Chinese and Asian characters in Hollywood, as well as raise money and popular support for China & Chinese refugees in the 1930s and 40s. -face card REFUSED to decline"
Tumblr media
Josephine Baker:
Tumblr media
Black, American-born, French dancer and singer. Phenomenal sensation, took music-halls by storm. Famous in the silent film era.
Tumblr media
Let's talk La Revue Negre, Shuffle Along. The iconique banana outfit? But also getting a Croix de Guerre and full military honors at burial in Paris due to working with the Resistance.
Tumblr media
She exuded sex, was a beautiful dancer, vivacious, and her silliness and humor added to her attractiveness. She looked just as good in drag too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So I know she was more famous for other stuff than movies and her movies weren’t Hollywood but my first exposure to her was in her films so I’ve always thought of her as a film actress first and foremost. Also she was the first black woman to star in a major motion picture so I think that warrants an entry
Tumblr media
Iconic! Just look up anything about her life. She was a fascinating woman.

After breaking out in Netflix’s hit global series and stealing scenes in 'Mission:  Impossible' and 'Hobbs & Shaw,' the British actresses about to display her range with frontier romance 'The World to Come' and gut-wrenching drama 'Pieces of a Woman.'
Vanessa Kirby was two days away from shooting Mission: Impossible 7 in Venice — reprising her role as the glamorous gunrunner known as the White Widow — when Paramount halted production. It was late February, and Italy had just recorded Europe’s then-worst outbreak of the novel coronavirus, at the time not officially labeled a pandemic. Tom Cruise’s billion-dollar blockbuster franchise had become the first major Hollywood casualty.
Seven months on, and with the film industry appearing irreversibly changed, Kirby is preparing her return to Venice. But it’s not for Mission: Impossible (she starts shooting that later in September). With The World to Come and Pieces of a Woman, filmed almost back-to-back in late 2019 and early 2020, the British star, 32, has the rare honor of having two films compete against each other in the Biennale, the first A-list film festival to physically take place since cinemas — and much beyond — shut their doors.
Appearing alongside Katherine Waterston and Casey Affleck in The World to Come — a frontier romance set against the rugged and patriarchal terrain of the mid-19th century American Northeast — Kirby plays flame-haired Tallie, who sparks an intense and liberating affair with a farmer’s wife, played by Waterston.
But it’s Pieces of a Woman — also heading to Toronto — and her quietly powerful and gut-wrenching turn as Martha, a woman dealing with towering loss after a home birth that goes wrong (shot in one hugely impressive yet frequently hard-to-watch half-hour take), that marks yet another new chapter for the actress, who already has condensed what many would consider a lifetime’s worth of career milestones into just a few years. A critics’ favorite on the British stage; Emmy-nominated and BAFTA-winning for her global screen breakout as Princess Margaret in the opening seasons of Netflix’s smash hit The Crown; part of two of the biggest action franchises around (she also appeared in Fast & Furious spinoff Hobbs & Shaw last year); and, for her next act, independent cinema’s newest leading lady.
Even before the reviews come in, Pieces of a Woman — also starring Shia LaBeouf, Ellen Burstyn and Sarah Snook — has found a fan in Martin Scorsese, who recently came aboard as executive producer.
“I haven’t stopped smiling,” says Kirby, speaking from the south London home she shares with her sister Juliet (a theatrical agent) and two close friends. “It’s such a mind-blowing thing.”
The actress was originally shown the script in L.A. by filmmaking couple Sam and Ashley Levinson (Ashley is producing the film for Bron Studios). Within 24 hours, she'd jumped on a plane to London, then Budapest, to meet director Kornél Mundruczó. “You know when you’re supposed to do something. ... It felt so right,” she says. “I wanted to show up and tell Kornél face-to-face how much I loved it and how much it touched me.”
Mundruczó, a Cannes regular who won the top prize in the 2014 Un Certain Regard sidebar for White God, also was taking something of a career leap, Pieces of a Woman marking his first English-language feature. But he found the right partner with whom to “take the big risk together,” likening Kirby to his favorite screen siren, Catherine Deneuve. “She’s someone who can express emotion for the unseen, and that’s very difficult,” he says. The World to Come director Mona Fastvold is equally praising of her star, describing her as an actor “who can truly disarm us” and their work together “one of most fulfilling creative partnerships I've had so far.”
Kirby, who cites Gena Rowlands as her cinematic idol (she has a photo from Rowlands’ 1980 drama Gloria in her room), says she had been “biding her time” waiting for such an opportunity: “I felt ready to lead a movie for a long time, but to actually do it was such a gift. Now that I’ve done it, it feels like a new stage for me.”
While there were few thespian genes in her family (her father is a top prostrate surgeon and her mother once edited Country Living), an 11-year-old Kirby caught the bug after watching a production of Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard. “I suddenly realized the power of telling these stories is that they can make you feel differently about yourself when you leave,” she says. “And I think that’s always been a goal for me since.”
Countless school plays — including an all-girl Hamlet (Kirby as Gertrude) — would follow, continuing on into college, where spare periods and evenings would be spent relentlessly rehearsing and putting on shows with friends (including Alice Birch, who recently adapted Normal People for TV). Audience numbers didn’t matter – several struggled to make it through a four-hour Eugene O’Neill adaptation, while there were definite walkouts when a group of them took Shakespeare's Julius Caesar to Edinburgh (“Why would you take Julius Caesar to a comedy festival?” she laughs).
It was all for the discovery, experience and thrill, which is why — just a few years later — when Kirby received her first paycheck, having picked up an agent and signed on for her first three professional productions, it felt strange.
“I still have the vision in my mind of holding that white paper and being like, why are you paying me? Someone’s paying me for this? Because I’ve done it so much.”
Performances of As You Like It, Edward II and A Streetcar Named Desire and collaborations with directors like Benedict Andrews would quickly establish Kirby as one of the U.K.’s hottest stage talents in the early 2010s. But by this point, screen had already come calling. BBC drama The Hour — a small part as a troubled young aristocrat alongside a pre-Bond Ben Whishaw — was her TV debut in 2011, landing four years before being cast in her most famous role to date.
The Crown creator Peter Morgan recalls going “rogue” when he chose Kirby, overruling the other show execs’ preferred choice for Princess Margaret. She had turned up to the audition looking like what he describes as a “catastrophic mess”; fake tan smeared haphazardly on her shins and hands stained orange (she’d forgotten to wash them after applying the tan).
“But she had an electrifying presence. ... You realized you were in the company of a rare and special talent,” he says, adding that her chaotic appearance plus visible nerves evoked the essential vulnerability he was looking for. “It was very Annie Hall.”
Subsequent screen tests — and the public reaction — confirmed what Morgan first saw, that Kirby was a “high-impact booking,” much like the royal she was taking on. “There was no room in which you were not conscious that Princess Margaret was there.”
To craft her Margaret, in which Kirby laid the largely unknown foundations that would support the royal’s more brash and defiant public persona in later life, she absorbed everything she could, seeking out footage where the princess thought cameras had stopped rolling, plastering her walls in photos and even listening to her favorite music on repeat (including a version of “Scotland the Brave” played on the bagpipes, much to her housemates' dismay).
“It was so exciting to play someone that was so complicated and so conflicted, who was really struggling with a sense of who she was,” she says. “But I also had to chart this journey carefully, across 20 years of a person's life, and try to make it believable and also set her up for the rest of the seasons that were coming.”
Mission: Impossible came off the back of The Crown, sometime in the middle of season two. “I think Tom had watched it, because he watches everything,” says Kirby, who was surprised to be warmly welcomed into the “Mission Family” during her first meeting with Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie. “On my way home I rang my agent going, ‘I think I got the job, I’m not sure.’”
Hobbs & Shaw arrived via another route, Kirby approached by creative duo David Leitch and Kelly McCormick after she led a 2018 summer run of August Strindberg’s Miss Julie at the National Theatre.
While different adrenaline-fuelled vehicles, Kirby used both blockbusters to creatively “subvert” the usual expectations for female characters in action films, particularly within the typically masculine Fast & Furious world. “I was like, I don’t want to have to be saved ever, I don’t want to have to wear anything compromising, I want her to have her own emotional journey.” Her efforts were rewarded when a journalist wrote that Hattie — Kirby’s fearless MI6 operative in Hobbs & Shaw — had been her son’s favorite character. “How cool is that?” (She found the writer’s email to thank her).
As Kirby waits to start on Mission: Impossible 7 (and also 8 — she says the White Widow will likely “float in and out” of upcoming storylines), and for audiences in Venice and Toronto to see her first lead role, this philosophy is set to continue into what could be yet another career progression.
Alongside a daily film club with her housemates (with titles ranging from a list she found of the Dardenne Brothers’ favourite films to the cult so-bad-it’s-good hit The Room), Kirby has also used the months of lockdown to consider her next creative step and dream: setting up her own production company.
“I feel so excited by the thought that there’s so many female stories that haven’t been told. And so many that have examined the psychology of a man in a particular situation, but not the woman,” she says. “I feel like there’s so much opportunity for that and that we do actually have a responsibility. Changing that space is very important to me.”

Betty White Vs. Gracie Allen
Gracie Allen - (The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show) - she's SO funny

From brains and beauty to entrepreneurship and class, these 25 sexy Israeli women are giving Western beauties a run for their money.

As one of many hot Israeli women who had to complete military training, Gal enlisted as a combat instructor in the Israel Defense Forces. At the same time, she was working on getting her education, studying law and international relations. Then, 2009 came, and Gal got a role in Fast and Furious as Gisele, making her a well-known face in the movie industry. Her most significant movie role so far was in Wonder Woman. As a model, actress, and entrepreneur, Bar Refaeli is who every girl wants to be. She carefully juggles both her good looks and brains, never forgetting that she has a mission in this world. What most people don’t know is that she’s a savvy businesswoman as well. Due to her investments in MyCheck and fashion brand Castro, she has been able to increase her wealth all on her own. But, Bar is no stranger to controversy. Her most famous fall from grace is the fact that she avoided military service in her own country. However, she maintains her solidarity with military women and shows her support on social media often. Additionally, she loves volunteering, frequently helping abandoned pets and sick children.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
An Israeli-American actress, Bar Paly isn’t as famous as her namesake, Refaeli. However, she makes up for that by working hard on her career and gracing us with her presence in various TV shows. Bar started her career at the tender age of 17 and became a frequent cover girl. She appeared in GQ and Rolling Stone before transitioning into acting. Since 2003, she has acted in cult favorites such as How I Met Your Mother and The Starter Wife. Moreover, she has rubbed shoulders with the likes of Charlie Sheen in A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III and Dwayne Johnson in Pain & Gain. She joins other hot Israeli women on this list because of the way she looks. With her golden locks and milky skin, she is every man’s dream. Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Since women in Israel have to complete military service, Esti also enlisted and later even showed her support for all those who don’t ignore the country’s law. However, her modeling career didn’t start after that. She actually took part in a milk campaign at the tender age of eight, and since then, has been modeling for various famous designers and brands, such as Tommy Hilfiger, Pull and Bear, and Burberry. With her luscious golden hair and a figure to die for, Esti Ginzburg is one of those hot Israeli women that have a fantastic career before them. Moran Atias
Actress, Model
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As one of the most beautiful Israeli models in the world, Moran Atias joins the ranks of other hot Israeli women on this list. With her dark hair and warm eyes, she’s every brunette-loving guy’s dream. But, Moran has also shown she’s a talented actress and model. Her most notable works include Land of the Lost, Mother of Tears, Third Person, and Crazy Eyes. She has also delved into TV acting, appearing in The Resident. Little do people know, though, that Moran was discovered quite early on and became a model for Roberto Cavalli. We’re not surprised given her figure and ability to work the camera just right. However, we’re glad she has decided to grace not only the runway but the silver screen as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This little Libra shows just how much those who share her zodiac sign are capable of achieving in a short period of time. After leaving the military, Alona Tal decided to up her chances of becoming famous by doing commercials. Her big breakthrough came with Lihiyot Kochav, an Israeli movie. Since then, Alona has become a well-known face in the TV industry. She has appeared in various famous shows, such as Monk, Pretty Little Liars, and Ghost Whisperer. Most notably, she played Veronica Mars’ friend and Jo Harvelle in Supernatural. Right now, Alona is a doting mother and wife who is slowly but surely building her Instagram following and advancing her career. Don’t think her career is on permanent hold — we’ll be seeing more of Alona quite soon.
Odeya Rush
Actress, Model, Filmmaker
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Have you heard of Odeya Rush? You must have, as she’s one of the up-and-coming actresses everyone should be on the lookout for. What’s more, she’s a part of the hot Israeli women’s club with her angelic eyes, dark hair, and exquisite figure. Although quite young, Odeya has already made a name for herself. With 516 thousand followers on Instagram, a role in Netflix’s Let It Snow, and even a part in Oscar-nominated Lady Bird, she’s on her way to becoming the new Natalie Portman. But, Odeya has also done modeling campaigns for Gap, Guess, and Tommy Hilfiger. As such, it’s safe to say she has shown how versatile her career can be — and how much she has to offer the world.
Natalie Portman
Actress, Filmmaker
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As the reigning queen of hot Israeli women, Natalie Portman is the most famous actress on this list. A blockbuster favorite and Oscar winner, she has shown multiple times how talented she is. And let’s face it — her beauty is only becoming more apparent with age. As the star of Léon: The Professional, Natalie began her career at the age of twelve and later moved on to various box office hits, such as V for Vendetta, Thor, and No Strings Attached. Her fans loved her in Black Swan, and so did the Academy. Yet, we love her for breathing life into Padmé Amidala and becoming a part of the Star Wars universe. Now a mom of two, Natalie is keeping busy with ad campaigns for brands such as Dior and movies like Lucy In the Sky. But, this beauty is not afraid to show off her brains either. She’s a Harvard graduate and an advocate for animal rights, not to mention an anti-poverty and #MeToo activist.
Agam Rudberg
Actress, Model
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Although not as famous as some other hot Israeli women on this list, Agam Rudberg is a beautiful face that has shown her talent time and time again. Primarily working in Israel, she has graced TV shows such as Ahava Me’ ever Lapina and Split. Her most recent role was in Temporarily Dead, a medical drama. With 374 thousand followers on Instagram, a smile that could brighten any day, and an eerie resemblance to Bar Refaeli, Agam is doing quite well in her career now. Her country adores her not only for her good looks but her morals as well. She has openly criticized her lookalike for refusing to enlist in the military, saying she ought to have tried at least.
Maria Domark
Model, Internet Celebrity
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What can we say about Maria Domark? A popular model from Israel, Maria has amassed an extensive following on Instagram. More than a million people watch her every move and wait patiently for photos of her beautiful face. But, apart from serving good looks online, Maria is working hard on her budding modeling career. With an hourglass figure, full lips, and blonde hair, she is a sought-after face for many brands and is currently modeling for ITM. While her career is advancing, though, Maria is working hard on branching out. She even has a single on her YouTube channel, which she made in 2019. Perhaps a singing career is in the cards for her, as well?
Rotem Sela
Model, Actress, Television Presenter
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
With a degree in Law and Business Administration and experience as a clerk in the IDF, Rotem Sela is one of those hot Israeli women that has shown she is a smart cookie as well. Despite her good looks, she doesn’t allow to be seen as just a model. Her experience speaks for herself, and today, she is an actress and a political and LGBT advocate. Rotem is famous for her role in Beauty and the Baker and for putting Israeli film and TV industry above Hollywood’s bright lights. She maintains that she always wanted to succeed in her home country. With many roles under her belt, it’s easy to conclude that she’s one of Israel’s most prosperous actresses.
Shlomit Malka
Fashion Model, Television Host
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
With Moroccan and Russian descent, Shlomit Malka joins this list of hot Israeli women as a blue-eyed model who has graced many international campaigns. She is mostly famous for her work as a model but has also shown her talents as a television host. During her career, Shlomit has collaborated with L’Oreal, Maybelline, Chanel, and Armani. She has also appeared in magazines such as Marie Claire and regularly posts her work and what she’s up to on Instagram. In 2013, she was also one of the highest-earning Israeli models. However, her career could have ended quite suddenly after her 2017 accident. She was in critical condition and even in a coma. Luckily, she pulled through and continues to dazzle us with her natural beauty.
Yarden Harel
Television Host, Photographer
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yarden Harel is a popular model who has, during her career, branched out into other fields in order to show off her talents. Most notably, she was an entertainment correspondent for Rokdim Im Kokhavim and Zinor Layla and even served as a backstage host on The Voice: Israel. Right now, though, Yarden is putting all her efforts into her lifestyle blog and showing off her photography skills on Instagram. With more than 280 thousand followers, her content appeals to younger audiences and those who appreciate quality, beautiful images. Of course, it helps that Yarden is still a natural beauty who’s not afraid to show off her smile. What’s more, she hasn’t lost that X factor that jump-started her career!
Neta Alchimister
Model, Swimwear Designer, Social Media Star
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
With a huge Instagram following (1.6 million), Neta Alchimister is a social media star, model, and entrepreneur. She is most famous for her modeling campaigns for the brand Castro, as well as her own bikini line BaNaNhot. Neta was quick to start her career after completing military service. After being discovered at 15, she has been working hard on making a name for herself, appearing in Blazer’s swimwear edition and often collaborating with Anna Zak, another Internet personality. To us, it seems Neta is one of those hot Israeli women that has fully embraced social media and is using it to her advantage. Luckily, we’re able to marvel at her good looks every day and keep supporting her with our likes and comments.
Yael Shelbia
Fashion Model, Actress
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her career is still blooming, but Yael Shelbia has already shown her modeling talents to the world. She’s well known both in Israel and internationally due to her Instagram and various ad campaigns. Most notably, she was one of the faces of KKW Beauty in 2018. Right now, Yael is slowly but surely working on her career as a fashion model. After getting discovered on Germany’s Next Topmodel in 2017, she has become a sought-after face with many agencies vying for her attention. Still, she’s young, and we probably haven’t even seen a fraction of all her talents. According to her Instagram, she may even branch out into acting soon.
Tal Berkovich
Actress, Writer, Fashion Model
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Born to a Romanian father and an Indian mother, it’s safe to say Tal Berkovich has a type of beauty that could easily conquer the whole world. Her unique decent gives her the facial features most modeling agencies are after. Thus, it’s no surprise to see she has done various lingerie and sportswear campaigns. Yet, Tal is also an actress and a writer, not to mention a trained ballerina. In fact, she was the youngest member of the Israeli National Ballet. Right now, Tal is doing more photoshoots and showing off her camera skills on Instagram. Some even say she resembles a young Cindy Crawford with her long brown hair and a killer body. Fortunately, she isn’t going anywhere any time soon, so we just have to keep an eye out for her new projects.
Dar Zuzovsky
Actress, Model
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You have probably seen Dar Zuzovsky before; her beauty has landed her not just a spot on our list of hot Israeli women but multiple campaigns with brands such as Urban Outfitters and Sephora. Starting her career as a model at the age of 15, Dar quickly rose to prominence and has even become an actress in the meantime. As far as Hollywood fame goes, Dar still isn’t as well known as Natalie Portman. However, something tells us she still hasn’t shown us all her acting talents. Still, from her appearances in Beauty and the Baker and Papa, it’s clear Dar is able to carry roles effortlessly while at the same time looking as magnificent as ever. The future seems bright for Dar, as her next movie, Harry Haft, includes the likes of Danny DeVito, Peter Sarsgaard, and Ben Foster. Yet, we wouldn’t bet on her quitting modeling forever. After all, with a face that even graces a mural in LA, it would be quite a shame not to see her in magazines!
Yuval Scharf
Film/Television/Theatre Actress, Model
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As a successful movie actress, Yuval Scharf is making a name for herself internationally. This red-headed beauty is honing her acting chops one role at a time, taking all acting difficulties in stride and making the best of them. Of course, Yuval wouldn’t be on our list of hot Israeli women if she didn’t have that X factor we all know and love. Her fiery hair, light-colored eyes, and exquisite bone structure make her a unique model. But, it seems Yuval is determined to make it in the movie industry — and honestly, she’s going places. She learned how to act in Nissan Nativ Acting Studio and is now branching out into non-Israeli production by appearing in a BBC show called McMafia.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you were to ask the next pick for our list of hot Israeli women why she became an actress, you’d get a surprising answer. In her childhood, Inbar suffered from asthma and had to use a nebulizer. To pass the time, she devoured movies and sought idols in the likes of Natalie Portman. For someone with her health condition, you wouldn’t expect her to come this far. Yet, Inbar has proven that she is not only a strong woman but a talented one as well. She had a lead role in Imposters and appeared in Lucifer and Prison Break. Therefore, we can expect to see more of her in the following years, perhaps even on the silver screen!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We cannot say that Amit Freidman is as famous as some other hot Israeli women on this list. However, her beauty is not to be underestimated. It has landed her plenty of modeling jobs, though she’s best known for fiery bikini pics. Still, Amit’s career, though not as substantial as, let’s say, Bar Refaeli’s, could take off quite soon. She’s slowly building up her Instagram following and regularly posting about her jobs. What’s more, she keeps it light and throws in a few cat pictures now and then — you have to appreciate a hot animal lover!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shira Haas is a young star in Israel who already has quite a few hits under her belt. Even though she’s only 24, she has managed to act alongside actresses such as Jessica Chastain and Rooney Mara. Furthermore, critics loved her acting in Princess — you could say that role essentially put her on the map. However, her doll-like features, long shiny hair, and a stare that could touch even the coldest heart are what has made us include her in our lineup of hot Israeli women. There’s something about Shira that’s so natural yet almost ethereal. Her hair has a type of warmth that’s not that common among beautiful Israeli women, while her smart gaze tells you that she’s more than a pretty face.
Roni Meron
Actress, Singer, Musician, Model, Host
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Roni Meron could definitely give Cindy Crawford a run for her money. However, it seems this beauty has switched to singing and songwriting, as she hasn’t acted in anything since 2015. But don’t feel bad for Roni — her career is still on the rise. With her magnificent voice, a premium record deal could be in the future. In fact, she was even offered a few girl group deals when she was younger. Nevertheless, knowing what that would mean for her future, she turned them down and opted to finish high school. As one of the most obscure hot Israeli women on our list, Roni is mysterious but wonderful to look at. Hopefully, she’ll continue appearing in print and on TV, giving us a reason to pay more attention.

A talented actress, no doubt, Hada Yaron is an up-and-coming star that has done something most hot Israeli women haven’t been able to. She won the Best Actress award at the Venice Film Festival, becoming the first Israeli to achieve such success! But she deserved that award fair and square, as her performance in Fill the Void left everyone in awe. What’s more, she didn’t stop there. Since then, she has appeared in Felix and Meira and Mary Magdalene. Most recently, she acted in Troppa Grazia, which was screened at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival. As a natural beauty, though, Hadas is gaining in popularity all around the world. In the 21st century, she’s unique with her sincere eyes and a lovely figure. Plus, since she has already shown her many talents, we could even say that she ought to become a fixture in a lineup of some of the best Israeli actresses ever.

Born in 1989 in Jerusalem, Daniella Kertesz can boast about rubbing shoulders with famous actors such as Brad Pitt. She played Segen in World War Z, as well as Onie in AfterDeath. That has allowed her to become popular in Hollywood, with more promising roles to come. However, Daniella actually started her career quite early. When she was about to start ninth grade, a casting director offered her to audition for a TV series. She got the part and became a truly lucky girl, playing Noa Sperling in Reds. After a few other small roles, Daniella got her big break with Ha-Emet Ha’Eroma. She also appeared in Loving Anna and Autonomies. But, her acting experience isn’t why she’s on our list. Daniella joins other hot Israeli women because of her exquisite beauty and fiery hair. With her bright smile and classical features, she’s the epitome of an Israeli goddess. Hopefully, Hollywood catches up with her and gives her more roles so that we can enjoy not only her looks but her talent as well.

Slowly becoming a famous social media fixture, Yaara is a face to be on the lookout for. Not only is she a natural beauty, but she has also shown her acting talent over the years. Yaara has appeared in The Inheritance, Oboy, and Fauda, showing everyone she can be anybody on the screen. Furthermore, she’s working on becoming a true influencer, with almost 100 thousand followers. S he often does ad campaigns for brands such as Fresh and shows her following how she keeps her figure in top-notch shape. Most notably, Yaara isn’t afraid to show her makeup-free face. Her beauty is famous in the beauty industry, which is why she even finds work as a model. However, we feel Yaara is more inclined toward social media and movies. Luckily, it seems she could become the next big thing, as she already has another movie in the pipeline, Frankie’s Baby.

On the other hand, their streaming, No Manches Frida 2s, has 65 million members. In a March Season 3 Episode 3 on Freeform’s TV study that assessed “The Impact of movies of Streaming on Traditional DVD Movie Rentals” it was found that respondents did not buy DVD movies nearly as much, if ever, because streaming had taken over the market. iZombie 5x09 "Fresh Princess" Review
This episode’s “case-of-the-week” had one of the most chipper brains with one of the saddest stories. During Miss Future Seattle 1998, a pageant queen named Laurie Beth had her makeup powder spiked, giving her an allergic reaction which left her in a coma for 20 years. When she finally passes, the charges have changed to manslaughter, which means Clive and Liv are on the case and Liv gets to munch on pageant queen brain. She delivers clueless platitudes the entire episode (see what I did there?) and tries some nostalgic, throw-back fashions. What seems like pretty petty pageant drama has left broken lives in its wake — like the suspect Velma, who used to want to be an actress but now craves the simple life after the traumatic events of the pageant. Laurie Beth’s parents provide all the 90’s VHS footage for Liv and Clive to peruse, but it manages to catch Laurie Beth’s mom, Gail, at the scene of the crime at the same time. It turns out that Velma was the intended target, and Gail sobs she was just hoping to give her a rash. Instead, her daughter fell into a coma for 20 years and eventually died. Woof. That is dark, even for this show. Season 5 has waded into the waters of showcasing several estranged parent-child relationships, sometimes in surprising, plot-advancing ways.
Other than our pageant debacle, there’s General Mills and his daughter Sloane. I was confused last week how Sloane could have gone missing in such a short time period between her conversation with Major and the arrival of General Mills to New Seattle, but now I get the kidnapping with the couple being shoved into the van was Sloane and her boyfriend. It happened pretty quickly and I didn’t identify Sloane as the victim, so that was my bad! It turns out Dolly has had her all this time, trapping her in a port-a-pottie and not feeding her brains, bringing her to a nearly “full Romero state” — which in iZombie’s world, means you’ve reached the point of no return. A totally mindless zombie state, focused only on eating brains. Don E and Darcy try to track down their kidnapper, Kristin Cox, but she tries to jump buildings and falls five stories. Even if Kristin’s not around to talk, her brain is. Major and the Fillmore Graves squad each eat a portion, in hopes they would have a vision that would reveal the location of Sloane before it’s too late. Unfortunately, they show up right as Dolly is about to sic Sloane and her boyfriend onto a local bakesale. They run wild, and Major regretfully, fully aware of the ramifications of this action, has to kill Sloane. It was the best thing to do in the moment, but any hopes of winning General Mills over to their cause is absolutely finished.
Peyton and Ravi do their own little sleuthing this episode too, and it’s a fun ride to see these two in action. Still trying to follow the trail of Beanpole Bob, Ravi figures the utopium they need for the cure is actually in the evidence room. The last person to check the evidence box they need was a dirty cop named Mosier, who was in bed with the Cobras, which means a return from Seattle’s hottest gang leader, AJ. Peyton offers him some extra amenities to his prison cell if he talks, and they learn that he did in fact order Mosier to steal the utiopium, but it never arrived. It was intercepted by a one “Barkley Schnexnader,” who’s a dead ringer for Don E. Don E insists that disguise is ridiculous even for him, and it was his twin brother Scott E. Don E tells them Scott E probably hid it in their mom’s basement before Scott E checked into a mental hospital. Peyton and Ravi try to pull of a sneak-around, but as we know, Blaine is camping out in that very basement. He catches them trying to find the utopium, and even though it’s burnt her in the past before, Peyton promises to restore Blaine’s good name if he helps them. He opens a false wall, and Ravi combs desperately through the empty utopium vials. They are back at square one. He’s ready to give up, but Peyton goes a step further and tracks down an address for Beanpole Bob. Ravi commends her for her tenacity, but it turns out there is a reason she has so much free time. She resigned from being the interim mayor, since the council found out she sold the naming rights for the Space Needle in order to fund Hi Zombie. Even though Peyton is probably the best person for the job, I have to admit, I love that she now has a few moments open to help Ravi find a cure, and that she’ll be taking less dangerous trips to DC. It also explains why she was so willing to make AJ and Blaine grandiose promises — she can’t actually grant any of them, but they didn’t know that. They follow up on their Beanpole Bob lead, and they are surprised to see Liv leaving his apartment. Now that Ravi and Peyton know that Beanpole Bob and Martin are the same person (and they only know the tip of the iceberg), will they tell Liv? Will she even have ears to hear?
Liv is fully invested in helping her father heal. She arrives at his apartment to check on his recovery, when she finds him passed out. She invites him over to her apartment so she can keep an eye on him, but I’m worried this was all an elaborate ruse to get inside of Liv’s apartment and get closer to her operations. He even tries to get information out of Peyton, and attains a sympathy brain tube from Major. He and Liv have a conversation that sounds startling similar to the one during that tragic last encounter between Major and Justin. “I worry sometimes that humans might never come around on us,” said Martin. “If the time comes where we have to choose sides, I hope you’ll let me take care of it.” Liv is unsure it’s necessary, but nevertheless, she calls him “Dad” for the first time and they hug. Liv is going to get her heart so smashed.
Liv’s mom and her brother also make an appearance. Evan’s health isn’t doing so well and he didn’t make the cut on Fillmore Grave’s emergency exit program. Liv’s mom asks Liv to smuggle Evan out of New Seattle. Liv is hesitant at first, and tensions rise when Liv’s mom and Martin see each other for the first time. Martin encourages Evan to get scratched by Liv, but Liv points out that he hasn’t quite earned the right to dole out “fatherly advice.” Liv concedes, and promises to smuggle Evan. The sweet way that Evan smiles at Liv absolutely took my breath away, and it makes me sad the show hasn’t taken the time to develop this relationship even more. Now that we know that Liv’s coyote operation is compromised by Martin himself, I’m pretty concerned for every mission that crosses the wall.
Stray Thoughts
“Now he knows he has my heart, it’s like the bromance is gone.” I love Ravi and Major’s friendship
Anyone worried about Peyton when she’s sitting so close to Martin like that?
“I’m not on a side, I’m in the middle, trying to hold everyone together.” All this talk of sides is making me nervous for Liv when the final showdown gets here
Peyton and Liv are the cutest human and zombie roomies ever
Liv and Major are looking more domestic than ever...I’m starting to get impatient, show!
The security guard is a big fan of Hi Zombie, but the jury is still out for me.
The look Don E gives Major when they talk about Sloane reminded me of their odd couple day trip episode, which makes me wish it had been under better circumstances
Team Pavi forever
Haley’s episode rating: 🐝🐝🐝🐝
