HOTD CHARACTERS AS ALBUMS:

Alicent Hightower as 30 by Adele.

Now that we are finally here, and I'm starting with my faves.

What is 30 by Adele?

It's her latest album that covers the topic of her divorce and the challenges she faces in the wake of it with the idea of motherhood impacting her decisions and thoughts around this time. Her signature ballads and intertwining of genres are apparent, but the story she invokes is that of trials and a time of change in her life.

So Alicent?

Yes. It's the album I think best fits her arc in season one and prepares for the rest. Let's go through this song by song. But also go listen to the album and think of her because at the end of the day. This is my interpretation.

30 x Alicent.

Strangers By Nature

Now, this first song is the introduction to the album. She's apologising to Lovers from the past, the present, and the ones in the dark. Taking back anything done wrong against them and saying that by the end, they were all strangers by nature to her.

If we are talking about Alicent I think that's were season 1 leaves her. So much is being uncovered about her and her character especially outside of Viserys in Episode 9 I think it's a good song within that context.

No one really knows her now, fully to her entire extent. How she loves, what she does to ensure she's kept aware of situations, what she stillnholds on to is kept guarded and compartmentalised for certain things.

Easy on Me.

This was the biggest hit off the album. It's a song about a dissolving marriage, a song dedicated to her child and childhood, and overall, it is very Alicent.

I think it applies well as a reflection of who she had been. Trying to balance her love for Rhaenyra and her duty to her father and Viserys. The betrayal and anger and disagreements she found herself in.

Say what you will but as the bridge of the song puts it,

"I had good intentions

And the highest hopes

But I know right now

It probably doesn't even show."

If that isn't her, what is?

My Little Love

Now I find Adele just extremely Alicent coded, but the reason I chose this album instead of 21 or 25, for example, is because this album was dedicated to her child.

I refuse to explain this one. Go think of these gay lovers and cry your heart out because it hurts.

But also, it's a song of her explaining everything up until her divorce to her son. Kind of reckoning with the failure she feels and how stuck and stranding it all is.

For Alicent, I think it's the same. By the end, she's reconciling her past with her future. Trying to appease her want for Aegon to be crowned with her love for Rhaenyra and to an extent Viserys. She's also around all her children in episode 9, which is interesting when thinking about the song.

Cry Your Heart Out

Hello, season 2 Alicent. I genuinely think this is the direction it is going to go in because its just tragedy after tragedy for them. Especially when we see her under water and near water so much, baby girl, cry your heart out, it'll clean your face.

Oh My God

Alicole girls. Hi.

This is entirely Criston and Alicent coded for whatever they have going on.

I'm having a hard time doing this because I want you guys to go listen to it. But basically, the song is about this guy who she's with during this time who's her place of refuge with all he conflicting narratives and lies around her.

Also religion.

Can I Get It?

Otto fans, Rhaenyra fans, Alicent fans, and fans of her children. You get to decide who this is about. It's about wanting to be someone's after everything you've done for them, everything you've been through to be at their side. Counting for someone to put you back together after everything is...

I Drink Wine

Hey alcoholism. Genuinely, this is thee Rhaenicent song of the Album. How can someone become so bounded by the choices somebody else makes? And it just goes down from there.

All Night Parking Interlude

I'm going to say Criston. I think they genuinely found a sense of home together.

Woman Like Me:

Hello episode 1 to 10 Rhaenicent. Hello, Viserys Targaryen. It's basically her saying, "How dare you?" Do you know who I am? What is expected? And slaying.

Hold On

Episode 8 Alicent Hightower, the woman you are.

To Be Loved

Season 2 Alicent. "I will choose to lose it's a sacrifice" and "you have no idea the sacrifices made to put you on that throne." That arc is going to play out so well. I'm geeked. An ode to her conversation with Rhaenys as well.

Love is a Game

Wild, Wild West

Now, this is such a random part of the album, but I do think it's a part of the charm. Unlike Larys Strong, who I hope burns in hell. Anyways, because big pivotal moments happen to her in different places, let's say rats what this is.

Rhaenyra and Alicent, the tragedy you are. I'm so sorry I wasn't it westeros to save you from this.

Like Rachel and Tom’s video, the first bit shows short clips of some answers, but no context as to what the questions are.

You burst out laughing. “That is absolutely not what happened and you know it!”

Josh thinks, then snaps his finger and points to you. “Lover, or Evermore.”

You and Josh fist-bump as you look at the camera and say “Willem Dafoe” at the same time.

THE INTERVIEW —

The actual video begins with you and Josh trying, and failing, to stop laughing.

“I’m sorry we’ll stop,” you promise as you attempt a serious face. “Hi Vogue, I’m Josh Andres Rivera.”

Josh looks at the camera with a straight face as he introduces himself using your name. “Today we’re here to ask and answer questions rapid-fire style! I have the first one, can you give us any spoilers for season two of House of the Dragon?”

You burst out laughing again. “That is not the first question… is it?”

Josh shrugs, “no but the people want to know.”

You look at the camera, “sorry I love my job too much, the people will have to wait. We are completely finished with the filming but I may actually get fired for revealing everything. However I will say if you thought the first season was crazy, you have no idea what’s coming. Where my character is involved, remember she doesn’t know that Lucerys is dead, or that Aemond is directly responsible. And he’d just convinced her that he would change and do better for her before he left, so you have her finding out to look forward to.”

“Not a spoiler like I hoped but I will accept your answer, and I can’t wait to see Juliette kick Aemond’s ass! Okay the real first question, what songs did we sing first when we went and did karaoke as a cast?” Josh raises his eyebrows. “Someone did their research. Oh God I honestly have no idea what the first song was. I definitely sang one too many though. Do you remember yours?”

You nod, “Style by Taylor Swift.”

“Oh yeah that’s right!” He looks at the camera, “that was the day I found out I’d be working with Taylor Swift’s number one fan.”

“The real question is do you remember what I said my favorite album of hers was?”

He thinks for a minute. “Fuck — oh sorry can we swear? You just told me the other day too!” After a few more seconds, he snaps and points to you. “Lover or Evermore right?”

You do a slow clap. “I’m impressed! At my core I am a Lover girly but right now my favorite album is evermore.”

Josh grins at the camera. “Major bff points right there. Okay my turn to ask a question. Oh I bet Rachel and Tom got asked this too. Most difficult scene to film and why?”

“Ooh that’s a good one,” you think for a moment. “Physically, for sure the big scene I have with Tom. Emotionally, I think Sejanus’ execution. Obviously because that’s an emotional thing in itself, but it was the most difficult emotionally just because of how much I had to cry. From the moment Sejanus is led to the tree, to the moment my character falls to the ground sobbing once he’s dead, it started out as tearing up and by the end I had to like I said be full on sobbing. I’m just thankful we got that scene in a few takes,” you laugh.

Josh nods, then points to you as he looks at the camera, “if you guys haven’t seen the movie yet, she’s incredible. I had a hard time with that scene but I can’t imagine how difficult it was for you. It was so cool to see the final cut.”

“If you don’t say your most difficult scene, that was so sweet I may actually cry right now, thank you!”

“Okay okay, emotionally I’d also say my characters execution. Physically, escaping from the arena with Tom. We tripped a few times, it was also hard because we had to coordinate with the actors who play the tributes to make sure they wouldn’t actually catch us.”

“What do you think Rachel and Tom said their answers were?” Someone asks off camera.

You and Josh are both quiet for another moment as you think.

“I think Rachel said the hardest scenes physically were the games because she missed stunt training in the beginning.”

Josh mimics your slow clap from earlier. “That was my exact answer too. And Tom… I think his answer emotionally was yours for physically. I know he was a little nervous to film the fight scene with you in the cabin.”

“My heart,” you put your hand over your heart and smile at the camera as if he’s right there, before turning back to Josh. “Yeah neither of us wanted to rehearse it very much since we couldn’t meet with the stunt coordinator until the day we shot the scene. He was so worried about hurting me. Okay sorry we took so long just for that one question. Describe each others characters in three words.”

“Badass because… hello that whole scene with Tom, kind because she puts everyone else before herself, and cunning. I like that she can think on her feet.” Josh sits back, satisfied with his answer.

You high-five Josh. “Nova May appreciates that. And now I definitely have to top that. Loyal. I know it’s almost to a fault but Nova May really loves that about him, congenial because I feel like it’s really easy to love Sejanus. He’s not like the others who grew up in the capital. And… sweet. He didn’t let having money get to his head.”

“Sejanus also appreciates your answers. Okay my question, name three characters from other franchises that you think would do well in the games.”

“I love this! I swear this isn’t because they’re shows I’ve worked on, they genuinely are the first characters to come to mind. Aemond Targaryen because he clearly has no problem with murder,” you laugh and look at the camera, “love you Ewan! Hmm, Paul Atriedes just because I really wanna see Timmy film the arena scenes. And Joel Miller because I am a Last of Us girly and I know he could kick ass.”

Josh nods, appreciating your answers. “I probably should’ve spent just now thinking of my answers, shit. I’ll say… King T’Challa because he’s overall just a badass and he can fight. This is also in the MCU but Kate Bishop because a bow and arrow are good for long distance kills, and then… just because I’ve been watching The Last Kingdom a lot, Uhtred Ragnarsson.”

“Who plays the best movie villain?” You ask. You and Josh look at each other and grin, having just discussed this a few days ago.

The 2 of you fist bump as you look at the camera and say “Willem Dafoe.”

“There will be no elaborating. Two words: Green Goblin. The ones who get it, just do,” you shrug, and the camera then zooms in on Josh who just nods.

Someone off camera motions for you and Josh to get to the last 2 questions.

“Advice for aspiring actors?” You ask. “I’d say don’t give up. You may get a hundred no’s, but if this is really what you want to do just keep working, keep auditioning. That one yes after a hundred no’s could be the role that changes everything.”

Josh points to you again, “I completely agree. Even if you feel like the only option is to give up, if this is your passion and genuinely what you want to do, don’t quit. You never know when your big break might come. I think I’ve got the last question. Favorite part about filming The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes? I know what she’s going to say,” he points to you and laughs. “Name starts with a T and ends with om,” he looks at the camera again. “You guys she was all heart eyes the moment they met.”

You can feel your face getting warm, but in the end you nod. “That is absolutely not what happened and you know it!” You sigh, then admit defeat. “Alright it’s true. I don’t know that Tom and I would’ve met if it weren’t for this film. Although I had already watched season one of Billy the Kid, that was released I wanna say a couple of months before I booked this movie. So I was already a fan of his.”

“And we all know my love for Dune and House of the Dragon,” a voice speaks up from behind you.

Immediately you get out of your chair and Tom pulls you into his arms, hugging you tight as he looks down at you. “Alright my love?” He asks. After a minute you return to your seat and he greets Josh.

“What are you doing here?” You ask, still surprised.

“Just thought I’d come surprise you,” he smiles. “And I sort of tricked you. That dinner meeting your agent mentioned is actually dinner with me,” Tom turns to Josh. “Rachel says she’s free if you both want to join us.”

Josh agrees and pulls out his phone, saying he’ll let Rachel know.

You swear if your heart could beat out of your chest, it would. No one has ever made you this happy.

Someone off camera asks you all to film the outro for the video.

“Thank you to Vogue for having us!” Tom stands beside your chair and puts his arm around you.

“We hope you enjoy our film, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,” you smile at the camera.

“It has been in theaters for a month now but you can still catch it for a limited time,” Josh finishes.

“Bye guys!”

last song: last weekend i went to budapest for the first time and so on the train i relistened to the hungarian cast album of rudolf affaire mayerling to set the mood

last book: finished the henchmen of zenda on that same train. i really liked it but i think it could've been better if kjc invested more time into establishing rupert of hentzau's rizz instead of just repeating his descriptions from (i assume) the og book over and over again. now i have only one kjc book left🥲

currently reading: the fall of the kings - the last book in ellen kushner's riverside trilogy - and it's great. my reread of swordspoint made me appreciate it a lot more, so i was concerned that the next books could turn out not as good, since they take place after huge time skips and focus on new characters. but the joke's on me bc it turns out they are still the queerest, the sexiest and the most mannerpunk stories i've read,, probably since lymond. i was immediately shipping the new couple introduced in the last book. they just don't make them like this anymore :( and by "they" i mean most mm historical romance authors😒

last movie: in october i attended the vienna film festival and the last movie i saw i went into knowing almost nothing about it. it was realm of satan and it turned out to be a documentary about the church of satan in which there is almost no dialogue. it conveys information entirely through the visuals, showing us scenes from the daily life of real satanists. it was an interesting experience but my attention span can't handle a movie where nobody speaks anymore so i started zoning out towards the end. the q&a with the director and the cameraman afterwards was interesting too, altho they ended up answering a lot of burning questions (such as: where is all the freaky sex lol) which ironically they had been trying to avoid by making an atypical documentary where no one answers questions.

last tv show: finished the umbrella academy a while ago. i didn't particularly like it to begin with but i must admit the cast grew on me somewhat over the last couple of seasons.

currently watching: i want to finally finish the last season of vikings which isn't going great bc all the running shows with their new seasons like hotd, rings of power, the dragon prince, arcane and ofc wwdits are distracting me. besides most of the time these days i'm not in the mood for narrative tv so i end up watching nature documentaries or youtube/nebula😬

current obsession: i did a big impulsive purchase today without asking for anyone's opinion or permission and i still feel pretty weird about it. ig i haven't yet settled into the idea that i'm an adult earning my own money and can spend it however i want and if the impulsive factor will come back to bite me in the ass well then i'll face the consequences and learn from my mistakes. or whatever adults are supposed to do. etc.

okay so, like a lots of people, i'm listening to the new Taylor Swift album and picking out lyrics and songs for my blorbos. Now, there's Who's Afraid of Little Old Me. And it's easy to go for that with HOTD characters like Rhaenyra and Alicent, especially as we see their full journey of their youth and then being twisted up by events and then the violence that comes out of both women.

BUT. I'm claiming a small part of it for Rhaenys, because there's a lovely edge to it of it being a lament. Of her being sidelined, powerless, but capable of terror if she so chose it. But also the idea of her being cursed: you should be afraid to be near her, because she is cursed. She is terrible. She is an inception point to all that harms her family - don't get close to her because you'll be consumed. The Stranger will come for you.

But also her cruelty being on a leash. She doesn't want to make people afraid of her but they SHOULD be. But, at the same time, no one is afraid of her. And they SHOULD be.

Because it doesn't take much. She can shut Daemon up, intimidate Viserys, crush Corlys, unmoor Rhaenyra, disassemble Alicent, and condemn Vaemond. Her skillset is such that it takes very little effort for her to become utterly consequential. Culminating in her actions at the end of the season.

IDK what else to say but please I hope someone sees the vision with me. She was raised in an asylum, she's been the butt of a joke, the scandal over her claim was hushed up so she barely speaks of it. She doesn't need anyone to tell her how to feel etc etc etc.

I genuinely think it would be really cool if Ramin Djawdi let the dragons in HOTD have their own themes. The way that characters have their own music themes I want that with the dragons. Like any time a character approaches them or they fly into view the theme can subtly play in the background. It would be cool especially if it's a dragon that we’re supposed to be scared of and we just hear their song come on.

I also am a sucker for music portraying personality so I feel like an older dragon like Vhagar would have a deep-sounding wood instrument in contrast to Sunfyre who would sound more light and nimble. Or a dragon like Caraxes having drums in his theme to show the contrast between him and Syrax who has with violins. Idk I think it would be fun. If someone makes a concept album of this please let me know

Rhaenyra Targaryen as If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power by Halsey

What is, If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power?

It's an album by the singer Halsey that chronicles their relationship to motherhood, love, and ambition while contemplating the expectations placed while interacting with these things narritively.

So Rhaenyra

Well, yes. I think it best suits Rhaenyra throughout her entire narrative arc, not just seasons 1 and 2. It chronicles love with men and women, relationships to power, the place of women in society, and motherhood. Whole I contemplated SOS by SZA, which is still fitting to her psyche in relation to others in season 1, I think this captures all the elements of Rhaenyra. Lastly, when I did Alicent, I realised I'd much prefer you listen to the album and think of it in relation to the characters so this time. I'll give a small idea of the song, what I think it captures for Rhaenyra and tell you to go listen

Tracklist:

The Tradition

This song captures the fact that Rhaenyra is usurped and why. The justification of both her promiscuity and the tradition of the son inheriting is used to deny her claim to the throne. It tackles different relationships as well. Certain lines apply to Alicent, Daemon, Laena, Aegon, and Rhaenys for me. It ends like her , "it's as good as gone, " foreshadowing the fate of the house Targaryen after the dance.

Bells in Santa Fe

This song is said to sound like it's from the perspective of a dead child. While that can be your interpretation, I take this as Rhaenyra and Aegon III specifically.

Easier than Lying

One eye open, one eye close. I think this specifically is a song between Rhaenyra and Alicent. It communicates their falling out and culmination of it on Driftmark. And the falling out and hurt that occurs from episode 8 to 10.

Lilth

Daemon Targaryen, welcome to your tape. It's giving their Driftmark reunion in the best possible way. It's extremely self reflective but also reflects the issue with the partner.

Girl is a Gun

This speaks to her issue with others not reconciling their problems and the subsequent falling outs we keep seeing with Rhaenyra. To me it speaks to the line in episode ten with Corlys and Rhaneys talking about Rhaenyra. "The girl destroys everything she touches..."

You asked for this

This specifically speaks to Rhaenyra and her relationship as Heir to the Throne. I literally can't say anything else it's just perfect through that lens.

Darling

Rhaenyra and her children. I-

If you forsake everything else. Listen to this song like Rhaenyra is speaking to her children. No matter what, they are her ultimate loves.

Hello again, Daemon Targaryen. I think this speaks to the less than conventional relationship they have rather well. By that, I mean his grooming of Rhaenyra that she compares every love to him. Nasty man.

Seeing as we're here. Hello, Alicent Hightower.

I do think this is the definitive Rhaenicent song on the album and covers how they are defined in relation to each other no matter what.

Whispers

Ser Harwin was such a bad decision in the nest way for her to make. I think it covers all the rumours she faces perfectly, but I think this is the Ser Harwin song. "You don't want this." Episode 8 Rhaenyra, I'm so sorry I wasn't there for you.

I'm not a woman, I'm a god

Self reflection we see Rhaenyra have when she's alone is the most hurtful thing about her to me. She knows better, but she's the heir. It's a constant battle of entitlement of position and concequence of womanhood in Westeros.

The Lighthouse

I think this calls back to Daemon but also Laenor. Overall, it's a reflection of those two relationships and that concept of Rhaenyra consistently being punished and losing things in a brutal manner, how she could blame herself, and so on.

Ya'aburnee

Aegon III, and Alicent, I'm so sorry for the loss you felt when Aegon killed Rhaenyra. Alicent girl, what is going on with you? But this is the narrative of Rhaenyra's last moments, basically. The title translates to Bury Me.

Nightmare

Unrealistic expectations of Rhaenyra, welcome to your tape. I think it's lost that this woman was the named heir to the iron throne and while she did things well beyond that protection, it was never so out of bounds that she deserved everything that happened during the dance. Nothing she does deserves that.

Nightmare Reprise

Same song. Get a job, give her the nuance she deserves.

People disappear here

In the end, the conflict is boiled down, and all her intricacies are lost to history. She becomes a history figure that people like Stannis and Joffrey pick sides and people like Shireen, understand that the dance was just a huge lost to house Targaryen. That there were no victors.

Conclusion:

The rightful queen. I know that's right. But on a serious note, listen to the album. And have fun. Next up,

This is me. Five years ago. With my $400+ costume tailored to fit me, with my $100+ lace front wig, with my $100+ custom-made 3D printed chain. I was a show only for a long time and hated the way it ended but resisted reading the books because the things that happened to Dany were so horrible and I loved her so much I didn’t want to read them in a more detailed perspective. I only changed my mind because HotD re-invigorated my interest in the series and my mental health is better now so I thought I could handle it. I loved the books so much more than the show that the I had to make a tumblr blog about it. And I chose to make it Daenerys themed.

This is also me. 6 years ago. Trying to painstakingly recreate a Daenerys-like hairstyle in my hair (which is hard when you have a normal human amount of hair and not a Hollywood wig).

Here’s me again, 4 years ago. And how about this album of images from the past few weeks that I’ve generated using an AI app of myself as Daenerys, for no reason other than that I love her and relate to her and like to see myself as her?

This is a considerable amount of devotion across many years for a fake Daenerys fan. And for what? To what end? To rile people up on tumblr dot com? Does that make sense? That I’d make tons of posts defending Daenerys and funnel hundreds of dollars into cosplay and maintain a Daenerys themed blog just …because? I am a PhD student who just finished my Master’s. I do not have time to host a performative fan blog for shits and giggles. Not did I have the foresight to start my performance offline six years ago just so I could infiltrate the ranks of Daenerys fans online.

Seriously. Read my post. Read my response to the reblog on my post. And consider that “I love this character and don’t want her to be a villain but have trouble believing that such a big change in her character could have just been an invention of the showrunners” is not a hateful stance. Someone else pointed out that the Starks and Lannisters are also called threats and if you have a look, you’ll see that I think that’s a great point and respond with gratitude and intrigue when the information is presented without hostility. If you bother to check, you’ll also see that I have walked back my stance and now find it much more believable that D&D invented villain Dany because I have been given new information. Of course, you aren’t required to check the notes of a post to see things like this before engaging. But when you’re going to accuse them of being a fake fan and meet them with hostility, you really, really should do a bit more investigation first.

When you reply to a post, you are directly engaging with another human being. If I had made a brief hateful post, things would be different and I wouldn’t have a right to be snappy about it. But you came onto a thoughtful post about the character my blog is themed after and decided to be rude instead of considering what I had to say and giving me the benefit of the doubt, and I can’t abide by that.

Hello to everyone, just another idea.

I was scrolling through Tiktok and came through a piece of music called Ethereal. It sounded so comforting and heartbreaking at the same time.

Then suddenly an idea popped inside my head, like what if there are such things like musicals in hotd, where it is some sort of drama for people at that time.

Here comes the important part, our dear reader, be it platonic or romantic to our dear Aegon and Aemond, played in a musical similar to Romeo and Juliet, where her character kills herself in the end and the music Ethereal is playing.

When her character dies, she would have tears in her eyes with a smile and mouth three words "Wait for me". Like the plot was her losing someone she holds dear, maybe lover or her child.

Also, her character may be someone so angelic and kind to everyone, but she keeps suffering for the mistakes of others.

I like to watch reaction videos (mostly people reacting to movies and albums, mostly Taylor Swift albums), hence this idea.

5: What part was hardest to write?

I actually really struggled with the ending. I had an initial idea in mind, but as I continued developing Keavy and her relationship with Osferth... and it changed quite a bit. I literally mourned the end because I wasn't ready to say goodbye. 😅

7: Where did the title come from?

Farewell Wanderlust actually came from the song by The Amazing Devils. I just had the thought that Osferth was trying so hard to create something from nothing, but eventually settled down when he had his moment with Keavy.

8: Did any real people or events inspire any part of it?

Actually, yes. I took from Bernard Cornwell's intention for Osferth:

And then I added the historical, og Osferth in the final chapter, with his final moments with King Alfred.

13: What music did you listen to, if any, to get in the mood for writing this story? Or if you didn't listen to anything, what do you think readers should listen to to accompany us while reading?

I listen to music non-stop when I write, I need it so my brain doesn't venture when I am trying to focus on writing. I did have bit of a playlist created for this story, and I listened to a lot of The Oh Hellos' album Dear Wordwood.

As for what you should listen to? Whatever inspires, honestly. I listened to Ramin Djawadi's entire soundtrack to HotD on repeat with every chapter of The Sapphire Prince.

15: What did you learn from writing this fic?

I started this absolutely determined to give baby monk a happily ever after and was pleased to learn that he actually did not die horrifically in The Saxon Stories.

I am okay with it (though I hated watching it) especially since they robbed a lot of character development for Osferth in the Netflix series. HOWEVER, Ewan did absolutely amazing with what he was given.

I feel like this is such a weird/random question but what modern item/concept would you show the hotd characters if you were transported into their world?

First and foremost, I’d introduce them to the concept of therapy and mental health awareness. A slight joke but also not really. I think they’d be very surprised to find out they can pay people to listen to their problems and help them out 🫶🏽👍🏽

Helaena: I’d introduce her to a bee sanctuary. make her watch the bee movie (she’d understand the genius of it). Also make her listen to every rina sawayama album. Take her to a petco or animal shelter. Show her Pinterest and tumblr

Aegon: an Xbox or PlayStation. Idk he gives me the vibes he’d like video games. They would stimulate him… probably too much. Twitter and Snapchat.

Aemond: the concept of college/higher education. Fencing and tennis (I think he’d be good at both). Soccer, he’d be a huge fan (modern Aemond in my headcanons loves it). He’d also like airplanes (you don’t have to lose an eye to fly baby). Also I’d make him watch all the lord of the rings movies

Daeron: The Gap. Football and hockey (he’d like it the way Aemond likes soccer). Make him watch home alone, also the Star Wars trilogies. skateboards

Alicent: make her watch every sapphic movie I can think of 🫶🏽. Some bell hooks books. The courage to heal (the book). Dior. A gun plus make her watch how to get away with murder

Thank you for sharing the run-down of requesting artists for interviews! Your job sounds fascinating! Do you think Ewan naturally has this amazing sense for timing his features or is it the agency that guides him?

Another thing I was wondering about is how long actors' lives and projects (e.g. Ewan) are booked and planned in advance? Obviously the circumstances are quite different, but Taylor Swift mentioned in her documentary that the following five years were already planned ahead.

It will be the publication that decides on the timeframes for articles, etc. Actors don’t have to actively pitch for media coverage in the same way that bands/artists do.

After seeing the phenomenal response to their online feature, Face were likely quick to arrange a print feature as they knew it would be huge with fans.

Ewan isn’t big enough to have his life booked way ahead in that way. Also, musical artists differ to actors in the sense that they are obligated to a contract with their record company - i.e. a certain number of albums within a certain time frame, with an extensive touring cycle for each one, so it’s easy for life to become booked up years in advance.

Actors are only bound so long as they are filming a movie. For a series their contract will last for as long as their character does. At the moment, Ewan is likely planning his life around his filming schedule for HotD.

I think he’s autonomous over that - his agency will pass on relevant opportunities and he’ll choose to audition for the ones that interest him.

Now that he’s getting more recognition for his role as Aemond it’s highly likely that casting directors will be reaching out to his agency asking for him to audition, but again he has final say over whether he does or not.

Get to Know Me Tag

Last song: "Betrayed" by Gary Numan. I am so in love with his new music. His last two albums have been pretty much my Hyperia soundtrack for the past several months. The dark wave aesthetic has been a huge inspiration for her and Sanji's character development.

Currently reading: The "Lady of Darkness" series by Melissa Roehrich. I actually finished the series last week and am doing a reread because there's so many themes in it that tickle my brainwyrms for Hyperia and Sanji. And it's one of the rare few (that I've found anyway) supernatural romance series that's decently-written.

Currently watching: Nothing as far as TV shows. Haven't watched anything in ages. Though there's a few I wouldn't mind checking out...HotD, the new Witcher seasons.

Current obsession: FFXIV of course...mostly posing and working on my lore for Hyperia and Sanji. Since Tumblr's a friendlier environment for actually writing lore out in a format that's pleasing to me, I definitely want to start posting more lore/RP things for them.
