even though I'm having issues logging in to play, that won't stop me from celebrating a full year of playing this fun game! I'm so glad to have met so many awesome and friendly people in-game and in the community, it's really heightened my experience to something enjoyable and memorable <3

I love talking about my silly little stories. I love sharing what could happen. Hell, @shadowhuntermama is my beta reader and I was literally gushing and spoiling SO MUCH of what will happen in WRAID bc I was excited to talk about where the story will go with someone who didn't mind the spoilers (that and it was great workshopping to make sense of plot threads that may or may not have worked).

It really is okay to comment on our fics with just a simple "extra kudos" or something like that--which is actually something I got on my on-going Lightning/Vanille fic which was so freaking sweet of them to do and put a huge smile on my face. Seriously, commenting or talking to us about how much you love our stories/engaging with authors of your favourite fics really helps and lets us know that "oh, people DO want to keep reading this story" or "wow, people really DO love this one-shot/completed fic I wrote even after so-and-so-years". I also find that it gives me motivated to keep writing (which, come to think of it, might be part of my burnout from my hosie stuff amongst other personal stuff).

We're not "content creators". We're just writers who like to write and share fanworks with others to enjoy, whether it's for the fandom or just a silly self-indulgent AU fic that maybe only 0.01% of people will get (yes I get it, my Hosie/FFXV and Hosie/FFXIV AUs are completely niche because I don't think a majority of Hosie readers play Final Fantasy but maybe there are!!! Somewhere out there!!! I gotta do it for them as much as I am doing it mostly for me LMAO). And engagement with the people in the fandom/with readers, again, lets us know that people do enjoy these silly little stories that we love and pour our whole hearts into.

someone I follow on the bird app just announced they're starting a very exclusive private fic server because they and a bunch of other people want to talk about how much they love the fics they're reading, and as an author can I just say that a really great place to talk about a fic you love is in the comments for that fic

I understand that people are trying to create safe spaces, but as the number of comments that I get on my fics dwindles with each passing year, knowing these spaces exist where my fics are being discussed, places that I am excluded from, makes me want to write fic LESS

I mean I guess who cares, right, because if I stop writing, there's 10,000 other people that will continue...but if you participate in a fic "book club" server and you say nice things there about a fic you loved, maybe copy and paste that into a comment on AO3?

the only thing fanfic writers are asking for in return for hours of hard work is attention. please don't rob us of the one thing that we hope for when we hit "post"

was trying out a new art style featuring Lana in her lvl55 Botanist gear

Lana is a mix of both, usually depending on the situation. She'll hear someone out, but if she's getting a vibe she doesn't like, she'll just go for an attack and that's that.

The twins, Hayley and Jay, are definitely shoot first and ask questions later, which tends to get them into trouble most of the time.

Leo is definitely the one who wants to hear the situation out because his three older siblings are a handful and cannot be trusted to be calm about a situation so it's all down to Leo to be more diplomatic

To commemorate the fact that I finally defeated Garuda in the FFXIV/FFXV crossover event, here's a picture of Lana with Noctis that I took yesterday

Along with a picture of Lana in some new fit because I am weak to shiny objects so now I'm broke but it's okay it's worth it

(honestly, after the Garuda fight, I couldn't help but imagine how Hope and Josie would have reacted to meeting Noctis and helping him out on his quests.

I think Josie would have absolutely been down to help while Hope would have been like "why tf would I want to do that?" and then Josie would be like "Hope." It would be cute imagining their interaction with Noctis and I feel like Hope and Noctis would get along pretty quickly as they both have a lot on their plate or have this pressure of expectations pushed onto them.

Anyways, this is making me want to continue my Hosie/FFXV AU fic that I started and then stopped. Maybe I'll touch up on that fic, I know I have the next chapter started)

I enjoyed this event very very very much

Instance was fun (and not as stressful as FFXV Garuda fight) and I only wiped once but mainly bc I went in as a RDM by accident and also I'm still not great at RDM Job.

And I really love Lana's new glam :)

Summary:

After running around fighting mobs, Hope had expected to spend the rest of the day relaxing with her girlfriend, Josie. But it seemed like fate had other plans. Hope and Josie end up entangled in helping out a mysterious man from another world to figure out just how to get back to where he came from. Also, what do you mean this mysterious man is a Crown Prince!? Or, I really enjoyed the FFXIV/FFXV collab event that happened that I wanted to write a story about Hosie meeting and helping Noctis
