++The final wish of Magnus the Red was thus: Save my sons. The Emperor complied, transporting away the remaining Thousand Sons to Terra. But Magnus himself was beyond saving, his physical form was broken, murdered in a bloody rage by Leman Russ, and now, only shards of his soul remained. The master of mankind, in order to make sure what was left of his son would not fall to the powers of Chaos, he bound one of these shards to Ahzek Ahriman. As the two souls merged, an entirely new entity was born. Janus, now the chapter master of the Thousand Sons, made a final plea to the Emperor to help him rebuild the broken Legion, and to his relief he was given access to the Gene labs with pure gene seed. The Thousand Sons - now reborn as the Gray Knights - would be ready for the incoming siege.++

The Thousand Sons join the fray with a new fresh look! It seems like I have completely abandoned the 1 hour challenge at this point, oh well 😂

++The lone legionnaire of the Word Bearers decended unto the battlefield, his hand resting on the scripture that was on his chest as a bright light enveloped him. The smaller Daemons tried to attack but burned when they got close, realising too late their mistake before they could get away. The Ultramarines looked on in fear as the Word Bearer, seemingly radiating his very faith and spirit, approached the traitors, and as the legionnaire switched his grip on his war mace, he turned his gaze towards them, uttering two words:

"For Monarchia."++

Another Piece for the Horus Heresy Alternatus! Next up is the World Eaters, but because I'm going into surgery now it might be a while untill I finish that ✌

++Following the Drop Site Massacre, the traitorous Primarch Horus, had crippled three Loyalist Space Marine Legions, a Loyalist Primarch, Fulgrim, had fallen in battle, Warmaster of the Imperium, Lion E'Jonson, was murdered by his own, and Vulkan was missing in action. The Emperor's Children, Salamanders, and Death Guard had been badly mauled in the massacre, thus only the Imperial Fists, Iron Warriors, and the broken remains of the Thousand Sons where left to defend Terra as the Traitors rained down on the gates of the Imperial Palace. Although the odds where in his favor, the Arch Traitor knew he could only hold the siege for so long before reinforcements from the other Loyalist Legions, lead by Angron, would arrive, and so, he prepared for the final assault...++

Final piece of the AU legions is done! Boy did I take my time with this one.. I wasn't sure for the longest time how I would try and make this drawing really pop. Like with the world eaters piece I experimented with grayscale and splatteres of red but the end result looked weird, so instead I created an orange multiply layer and really liked the fiery look, and so from there I highlighted and shaded some more until I was happy and voilà! The Night Lords, heirs to the liberator of Nostramo Konrad Curze, and by blood fated to suffer their progenitors illnesses, but also his devotions and loyalty. So when the Horus Heresy began, Konrad and his legion did not falter or hesitate. The Night Haunter ordered his warriors to split up and spread out, wherever the enemy showed themselves, they would be ready to face them; and so they flung themselves into the fray, hiding among the sewers and dark alleys of many loyal Imperial worlds, and after waiting many moons, the first to face their fury was the hated Blood Angels. The barbaric and vampiric astartes threw themselves at the civilian populations, but were they thought they would find a feast, they only found death.

My bois the Night Lords are here! This is actually the 3rd version of this drawing because I wasn't happy with the two previous ones, but now the totally not slavic space vampire hunters are here and I love them.

Born from violence they rise to glory. Fueled by vengeance they kill for a father murdered. Clad in crimson they slay for an imperium betrayed. Fear the World Eaters, for they are coming for your head.

Kharn leads the AU World Eaters to glory and they are now done!! Next up is the arch traitors themselves: The Sons of Horus

++The Space Wolves. Mighty and ferocious warriors originating from the cold and harsh world known as Fenris. There, strength was valued above all else, for if you could not overcome the dangers of their world, you will die. And so on this world landed the gestation pod of the infant Leman Russ...

Now the world of Fenris is gone, and the Wolves have been unleashed upon Prospero, and its master, Magnus the Red, is dead at the hands of Leman Russ, the Daemon Primarch of Khorne. Now thousands more worlds will burn, just as Prospero burned, the final words they would ever hear:

"Blood for the blood God. Skulls for the skull throne."++

The Space Wolves! Man I had a lot of fun with this one, redesigning the Wolves has been a project long overdue 🇸🇪

Denied their prize, Slaanesh looked for a new host for her blessings of excess, and the Iron Hands in their pursuit of perfection through metal made for a perfect replacement. The steel already made them faster and stronger, but still, in the minds of the Iron Hands, the flesh disappointed, they needed more, and so they started to adorn and shape their bodily modifications. For them, the body was not a temple, but a statue of clay to shape by their will; and through metal and steel, they could. Now they reap a tide of pleasure and destruction for the cause of Horus, but most of all for their dark prince: Slaanesh.

Iron Hands gone Slaanesh is here! Great fun making this one. Made in about 2 hours.

++The Ultramarines. The disciplined and courageous warriors of the XIII legion. Those who should have carried the very ideals of what it means to be a space marine in the Imperium of Man. But now they have perverted it, and through their actions they have brought on the terrible galactic civil war of the Horus Heresy in all its savagery. Foremost among these fanatics are the ones called Gal Vorbak, daemonhosts to the foul denizens of the warp, forever fused to their armours, and damned to an eternity of torment. Unless someone puts them out of their misery...++

This was a fun one to make! For changers I did this in 1 hour and 30 minutes. Can't wait to explore these guys more in a later date!

The last stand of the Unyielding during the Siege of Terra. The combined might of the Iron Warriors and the Imperial Fists stood tall as the traitors rained down on the gates of the Imperial Palace, but without reinforcement, even the mightiest bastion eventually falls...

3rd 1 hour drawing in the alternate Horus Heresy! This time two of my favourite legions stand back to back in the defence of the cradle of Humanity, and I for one absolutely ship it ❤

The mysterious and shadowy Alpha Legion, so wreathed in secresy that it is said that they plot even among themselves, scheming and conspiring for every form of threat. But now the forces of chaos are amassing, and the treachery of the Arch traitor Horus is spreading across the galaxy as he marches towards Terra, and so the question remains, to whom do the Alpha Legion owe their loyalty?
