I lived in this place for my whole life, and every time one of my parents or grandparents would ask me, “Isn’t that a gorgeous sky?” Or “Aren’t the mountains just beautiful?” I would get annoyed and nod.

I think it’s easy when you spend your whole life in one place to only see it as something to move on from. But now that I don’t live here anymore, and only come back for visits, those are the things that blow me away the most, and the things that I miss the most when I’m away.
