from my old old fandom shadowhunters & my love of magnus bane - the high warlock of brooklyn. i really should change it but i am incredibly lazy.

i always said i'd never have one - but then got into kpop and spam so many gifs i made a kpop sideblog @junsfangs to save all of you (i'm sorry that's a lie i still spam here)

i wanted to scream about star wars

Physically, you survived. Mentally, that's a different story lol. I honestly don't think I could survive. He definitely belongs centre stage oh my goodness. I am so glad that he decided to pursue music, I was listening to his solo album this afternoon and oh my goodness. It was amazing. It felt like a hug, I don't know any better way to describe that lol

I definitely want to listen to Hyunsang's solo stuff! I don't know much about Hoppipolla in general, but I would highly recommend their music. I find it so relaxing to listen to, or I'll put it on when I want to listen to music but need to concentrate on a task (I listened to a lot of their stuff and Laufey while doing my dissertation lol). I would highly recommend Day6 or N.Flying if you've never listened to them. I absolutely love Young K from Day6's voice, I could go on all day about how beautiful he sounds ahaha. N.flying have some really goofy songs which are so catchy (my introduction to them was if BSS were a song by a band, they would be Hot Potato by N.Flying and honestly I agree)

I was tagged by @tallitalianguy, whom I expect to be awake since he admitted he’s an insomniac in his own post. At the risk of sounding like a person who spends too much time on tumblr, I totally knew he was a Leo. Here it goes!

Nickname: Fra, most commonly, also Chicco. It truly depends on what’s the favoured short for Francesco in the area where the speaker is from. Here in Veneto it’s mostly Fra. I tried to implement Cecco a couple of times, but I always failed and now I’m thinking it was for the best. The association for me clearly was with the poet Cecco Angiolieri, but it also brings up memories of pasta de cecco, which we stan but not as a nickname.

Zodiac: Virgo.

Height: 1.83 cm (6 ft and some spare).

Hogwarts House: I always thought it would have been much better to study at Durmstrang or Beauxbatons?

Last thing I googled: Liberation Theology, I am going through yet another religious adjacent phase and since all the interesting theology of the last seventy years and even earlier is out of latin america, this is a core topic I’m reading on. 

Song stuck in my head: Il cielo è perso by Pop_x. I’m going through all that SOPHIE ever produced and at the same time I’m discovering brazilian techno and bossa nova covers. I mainly listen to post-rock, electronic and techno music, but I also unironically listen to trap italiano and Bad Bunny, so it’s not all obscure youtube albums. As per the fact that I still listen to Pop_x in 2020, I will offer no explanation.

Number of followers: 135.

Amount of sleep: hah, it varies widely. I can make do with very little sleep, and I’m a total afterglow queen, but I function at my best with a full eight hours of sleep.

Lucky number: I don’t have one, but I’ve always been suspicious of odd numbers, no matter what the pythagoreans say.

Dream job: museum curator, especially in a natural history or a history museum. I would kick ass as an art curator btw, but in that case it would have to be contemporary art. Another beautiful carreer would be to work in a private art gallery or curating a private collection. I also dream of doing research, as in an academic career, and I think researching and teaching would suit me well.

Wearing: olive green pants and a blue shirt. It’s too hot these days and I’m praying that tonight it will rain. 

Favorite song: now it would be Immaterial by SOPHIE, but I’m always inspired by Hoppipolla by Sigur Ros and Stella di Carta by Loredana Bertè.

Aesthetic:  The two main sources of inspiration for my dream wardrobe would be Alda Merini and Peggy Guggenheim, whose iconic outfits certainly made history, but some would argue not the history of good taste. I’m at the meeting point of sciura and genderqueer fashion, peppering in a pinch of Auntie Mame. I have several files with images of forniture for several dream homes - I lean toward the maximalist and antiquated end of the spectrum, but I can see the functionality of a simpler style. I’d still go with the impractical excess though.

Favorite author: Irene Nemirovsky, Colette and Tanizaki are the authors I go back to when I need to find my footing, both their styles and their themes completely enthrall me. It seems to me that these authors reached the perfect synthesis between their style and their subject matter, each responding to the other. I’m also a Tartt and B.E. Ellis reader, and on that note if people read Ellis’ earlier works it would be apparent even to the dullest tumblr dot com user that The Secret History is the greates satyrical work of the last fifty years.

 Favorite animal noise: despicable creatures as they might be, I like the cooing sound that pigeons make when courting.

Random: a few days ago I got to hold a copy of an early print edition of I Dieci libri dell’Architettura, the Barbaro translation, in my own two hands! And then I spent the rest of the night going over a friend’s dissertation to proofread it. A midsummer night’s dream.
