e-Swap (Part 2)
Read Part 1 by @swapery here.
Liam's POV:
Tumblr media
It’s wild to look back on it now. Four years ago, I was just a cocky kid scrolling through Tumblr, indulging in bodyswap roleplays. I mean, it’s hot, right? The idea of becoming someone else, walking in their skin, living their life—it’s escapism at its best.
To be honest, though? What really turned me on the most was the idea of someone else wanting to take over my life. And this guy—Kristoph—he wanted to step into my shoes, take over everything about me, and, I don’t know… maybe live my life better than I could. That hit me somewhere deep.
Sure, I found Kristoph hot. Objectively speaking, he was attractive. He had this kind of rugged, manly charm—average height, short curly brown hair, a beard that was thick but didn’t quite fill in everywhere. In gay terms, he’d be an “otter,” though not the polished, Instagram-perfect kind. Still, there was something about him, something raw and real.
Tumblr media
But what I found so hot wasn’t necessarily his looks. It was the roleplay itself. The back-and-forth, the fantasy of letting someone else become me—it was intoxicating. So I flirted with him, told him how hot he was and how much I wanted to be him too. It egged him on, made him want me even more. And that was harmless, right? That’s what roleplaying is for. It’s not real life. Nobody actually thinks they’re going to wake up in someone else’s body.
And who knows? If it hadn’t been for what happened next, I probably would’ve gotten bored after a few days and moved on. I’ve done it before. I’m a bit… boy-obsessive. A bit of a heartbreaker, if I’m being honest. Cute guys came and went. I was always onto the next. And, let’s be real, it usually worked for me because, well, I was even cuter.
But that’s not what happened.
---
I was completely thrown when I woke up one morning in Kristoph’s body. Like, how the fuck was that even possible? I stared at myself—well, at him—in the mirror, touching the unfamiliar beard, the broader shoulders, the chest that didn’t feel like mine. It didn’t make any sense.
The first thing I did was try to contact myself. I called my phone—my phone, which was now across the world in Australia, in Kristoph’s hands. No answer. I sent messages on Tumblr, over and over, desperate to get a reply, but it was like shouting into the void.
Confusion quickly turned to anger. As the hours dragged on, I couldn’t shake the growing suspicion that he must’ve done this to us somehow. He must’ve found a way. What other explanation could there be?
How could he do this to me? To us? Without even asking? Without telling me it was real?
Well… okay. He had asked, technically. And I had consented, in a joking way. But I thought it was all pretend. A game. Roleplay. Something to get off on—not… this.
Now I was out of moves. Totally stuck. Kristoph lived in England—or I guess I did now—and I lived in Australia. Or, well, he did. Either way, it wasn’t like I could just hop on a plane and go confront him. What was I even supposed to say? “Hey, give me my body back”? Impossible.
---
As I began to accept the fact that I was stuck in Kristoph’s body, resentment crept in. I hated how I looked. I mean, I know I’d flirted with him online—played it up, told him how hot I thought he was—but I didn’t actually want to be him. Not for real.
Honestly, I couldn’t stand his beard. It was scruffy, patchy, and felt like a chore to maintain. And in person? He was so much shorter than I’d imagined. That one photo he’d sent me had totally oversold him. His muscles were fine, I guess, but not as impressive as I’d hoped. Definitely felt like I’d been catfished.
And the worst part? He had no hot romantic prospects at all. No dates, no flirty DMs, no wild social life. The guy was a total dud. Meanwhile, I was stuck in his body while he got the better end of the deal.
It didn’t take long for me to start seeing his posts online. There he was, shirtless and flaunting my old twinky body for the world to see. He was out everywhere—hanging with my friends, partying, meeting people I didn’t even recognize. Hot, sexy guys who I could only assume were his latest hookups or maybe even a boyfriend.
At first, it made me furious. How could he be so bold, living my life like that? But slowly—bit by bit—I found myself getting turned on by those posts. Watching him, in my body, owning the life I’d built, looking amazing in photos, thriving without me… it did something to me.
He still wouldn’t reply to my texts, but it’s not like he’d blocked me on social media either. If anything, it felt like he wanted me to see it all. To flaunt it. After all, he’d been into bodyswap fantasies too—he probably loved the idea of me watching him live my life better than I ever could.
And damn, was he doing a good job. I started thinking about how well he was pulling it off. He didn’t need my help or guidance; he didn’t need anything from me at all. He’d just stepped into my shoes and thrived.
I couldn’t help it after a while—it turned me on. Seeing him so confident, so free, so successful in my life was like watching my biggest fantasy unfold before my eyes. It was frustrating. It was infuriating.
And it was so fucking sexy.
---
Eventually, I turned my focus to fixing up my new body, accepting that this situation was probably permanent. There wasn’t much else I could do.
At first, I tried to go back to my old look—the twinky vibe I’d always rocked. It felt safe, familiar. I shaved the beard and acted a bit more submissive, like I used to. But the more I leaned into it, the more wrong it felt.
Tumblr media
It was almost like this body was resisting me, like it was pushing me to be something else. Something… jockier. Stronger. It was weird, but I couldn’t ignore it.
So I regrew the beard, but this time I made it work—neat, full, and intentional. Then I started trying out sports, just to see what stuck. Tennis, running, biking… I gave them all a go.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But the one that really clicked for me was rugby. Something about it felt right, like this body was made for it.
Tumblr media
I threw myself into it. It was a lot of hard work—hours in the gym, changing how I ate, how I moved, how I carried myself. But over time, I started to see real results. The body I was living in became exactly what Kristoph had pretended to be all those years ago: a true muscle hunk.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It wasn’t just the body, though. Something about the discipline, the structure, the focus it took to transform myself—it all changed me, too. I started posting on social media, sharing my progress. And damn, the attention rolled in. Now I’ve got more hot guys sliding into my DMs than I can keep track of.
Tumblr media
But here’s the thing—I’ve learned a lot about how to treat people, about how to navigate relationships. I’m not the boy-obsessive heartbreaker I used to be. That’s made the best ones—the guys who actually matter—want me even more.
Honestly? I’ve never felt more in control, more confident, or more like me.
---
That brings me to today. I just got an email telling me to check the messages on this old Tumblr account, one I’d almost forgotten I even had. It was from Liam.
I was surprised to see his name pop up after all these years. Part of me wondered what he wanted, but honestly? I didn’t even read it. And I’m definitely not going to respond. Why would I?
So consider this post my way of signing off for good. I’ve learned my lesson—I know better than to mess around on those forums ever again.
Besides, look at me now. I’m hot as fuck. Why would I ever want to be anyone but me?

Sleepy Summons
whumptober23 day 29- scented candle fandom- dp x dc TW- none summary- Danny just wants to go to sleep
ao3 masterlist
Dick was kind of embarrassed. But at least everyone would be embarrassed with him. If they made it out alive.
Look, they had thought it was a simple cult, but apparently there was at least a little magic at play, because they had managed to capture not only Dick, but also Jason, Tim, and Damian.
Batman was supposed to be on his way, but he had been out of town so it might take him a while. Dick just hoped these cultists took their time with the summoning.
The cultists began to gather around the summon circle which had been lined with candles.
Well, it looked like they wouldn't be that lucky today.
The chanting started and the candles glowed brighter as the chal lines glowed green. Then suddenly a figure appeared in the center of the circle.
Dick stared for a second, unsure if he was actually seeing what he thought he was seeing.
There was a boy, maybe between Damian and Tim’s age standing in the center of the circle.They had black hair and blue eyes, and were holding a toothbrush and toothpaste.
The boy blinked at the cultists around him and looked over at the tied up bats.
“Ummm….” The boy said.
Some of the cultists shifted and started muttering among themselves.
Then the boy sniffed the air. “Are those pumpkin spice scented candles?”
“They had a sale.” one of the cultists said.
“Shut up, Jerry.” the potential leader said.
“No, no. I like it.” said the boy. “But now I'm hungry for pumpkin pie.”
“Me too.”
“Shut up, Jim. We’re not making conversation with the foul demon.”
“Wos, okay. I didn't think I smelled that bad.”
“Shut up.” snarled the lead cultist.
The boy held his hands up, accidentally squeezing the toothpaste. He stared at his now toothpaste covered hand. “Look what you made me do.”
“It doesn’t matter.” the leader gritted his teeth. “I summoned you–”
“Actually, it wasn’t just you that summoned me.”
Dick could see the leader trembling with suppressed rage.
“As the leader of this group, I command you to obey my orders.”
“But, like, dit you get to be the leader through a cote or did you just appoint yourself.” the boy said, ignoring him.
“He kind of just appointed himself.” said one of the other cultists.
“Dud, that sucks. Are you guys really willing to put up with this?”
“Shut up!” the leader screeched.
“No, he’s right. I want to vote for our leader. What do you guys think?”
Several of the other cultists nodded.
“I vote for you, Freddie. All in favor?”
“Aye.” said everyone but the leader who was spluttering with anger.
“You can’t do that! I’m the leader! I gave you all the leader !”
“But we gathered all the ingredients and drew the circle!”
The boy spoke up again. “What do you guys even get out of this?”
There was silence for a moment.
“You know, I actually don’t really know. What about you Jerry?”
“No. What about you Linda?”
“I just thought we were going to get drunk or something.”
“Demon, I command you to be silent!” the leader said, looking like he’d finally had enough.
The boy glared at him. “First of all, I’m not a demon. Second of all, I don’t feel like being quiet. And third of all, I was finally going to get to sleep on time when you guys summoned me. So, I’m sure you’ll all understand that I'm a bit peeved. And lastly,” the boy stepped out of the summoning circle and the cultists scrambled back. “You were fools for thinking that you could control creatures from the other side of the veil. Most of them would kill you, but since I already showered and don’t feel like washing blood off of myself tonight, I’ll just leave you for the bats.”
The boy's eyes began to glow a bright blue and his hair moved in a nonexistent wind. Frost began to sweep from under his feet toward the cultists. Ice climbed up their legs and crept up until it completely covered them.
Then the boy turned toward them.
Dick swallowed. He hated the occult. He just hoped that whoever this was would leave them alone. He had said he’d leave the cultists for the bats, but still, you could never be certain with the occult. This being was probably not even human.
The boy stepped forward and Dick tensed as he reached out and touched Tim on the shoulder. The ropes holding him fell to the ground, and the boy repeated the process with all of them.
When Dick had removed the tape that covered his mouth he asked, “Who are you?”
“Look,” the boy had rolled his eyes, “I’m tired and I don’t have time to play twenty questions with you right now. If you want, you can just ask your sad trenchcoat man about the Infinite Realms, and also, tell him to stop selling his soul. It causes a lot of paperwork.”
With that, the boy disappeared.
------------------
Damnny groaned as he appeared back in his bathroom. He abandoned his toothbrush and toothpaste and rinsed off his hand, before heading to his room and collapsing on his bed.
He’d deal with all the problems that summoning caused tomorrow. Or next week. As long as Clockwork didn’t say anything, he could take his time.

Let me help, sunshine
Daryl Dixon • She/Her Pronouns • Your anxiety toward your own self worth because of what’s happen to you, makes it hard to be a part of certain things. But he’s so in love with you that you never had to worry. • ANGST/SFW • TW: Injuries / Limping / Canon Violence
Requested by: Anon
Tumblr media
It feels like a fever dream. The good.
Y/N stood outside the burning prison holding herself as she shook from the blasts that forced her out of the bed she almost died in. The force from the blast also knocked her on her side, resulting in injury…
She’s been limping trying to find another from her group, or really shelter for that matter.
This feels like the start of the outbreak all over again. Struggling to walk through the destroyed earth and being mistaken as the undead. One too many accidents happened because of such.
The Claimers found her alone before Daryl joined them, even before Rick killed one of their own. He didn’t know Y/N was a part of them because their paths never crossed, and then again Y/N wasn’t…free. She was controlled that entire time, even when Daryl ended up with them.
He was relieved to find her alive. Relieved on an astronomical level…but it wasn’t a happy reunion. The two of them…
Daryl tried to check on her when he first saw she was with them. But this Len or Lenny guy blocked his way and glared at the archer.
“She’s been claimed, buddy”
The archer of course didn’t know what that meant but given her tense posture and the injuries that looked fresh, this group was one of the messed up ones. Or at least this guy that said such.
Their leader explained the rules. Whatever you see that you want, you say “claimed” then no one can do anything about it. Daryl instantly questioned why it was used on a person and was met with obvious looks that made his skin crawl.
“He won’t do nothin’ around us.” Joe laughs leading the way and the group started to walk.
Daryl wasn’t going to leave her and didn’t want to fight anyone in case they’d inflict anything on Y/N. Because little does she know…
When this group started to move and Y/N slowly faded into the back of the group, Daryl looked to the one who “claimed” her and given he wasn’t forcing her back beside him. He took that as his chance to talk to her in hopes no one notices.
But before he got a word in—-
“I’m glad you’re alive” Y/N whispers to Daryl as both felt that reassuring warmth grow in their chest, relieved that the other is still standing.
“Are you okay?” He whispers as she didn’t say a word but shook her head. She looks like a wreck. “You understand this claim nonsense?”
“I know if I just touched your arm, I will meet the short end of that stick”
Daryl wanted to help her given she seemed to be having trouble walking. But this situation with the Claimers only escalated.
This Len guy that claimed her, wanted to get rid of Daryl and decided to use their rules against him. Though it backfired on the guy and the leader in a way, preferred Daryl in their group. But when Len met the other end of a bolt…that brought up an uncomfortable situation.
“Can we claim what was his?” One of the Claimers stated and Daryl instantly stepped in front of Y/N covering her.
“Claimed.” He states and glared at those who even had the thought, which was most of them. Joe laughs a bit to himself and to Daryl’s eagerness.
“She’s yours, man. Even if she is kind of a dud” Joe continued to laugh and every fiber of Daryl’s being wanted to snap him in half, but given she doesn’t have to worry about any of them laying a hand on her. He could check their injuries at the next break they take.
But the next break happened in the middle of a road…where they were met with those who killed one of their own…that happened to be their family. Daryl did his best to intervene, even Y/N.
Then of course, violence was the only answer there.
It happened fast.
Rick taking out Joe, Michonne going after the Claimer keeping her down and the two going for the one on Carl. Daryl took out one of the Claimers on him as Y/N took down the other on the archer.
But the remaining Claimer knocked Y/N onto the ground, pinning her and the painful scream that ripped out of her when he applied all his weight on her already bad leg…triggered Daryl to full on football tackle this man off of Y/N and boy did he meet his maker.
Daryl went to check on Y/N but she wasn’t letting anyone touch her in the moment. He kept a respectable distance when they recuperated for the night and Y/N held onto herself for most of her avoiding eye contact from everybody. She was really wishing they didn’t lose the prison in that moment. Then she wouldn’t have succumbed to all the pain from the illness to her leg causing a lot of discomfort.
“Have you been with this group since the fall of the prison?” Michonne asked Y/N as she shook her head struggling to catch up to her pace when they walked to this ‘Terminus’ place. “Did you see anyone when you woke up? From the illness…”
“I heard Glenn, but I wasn’t quick enough to getting out. He wasn’t there anymore when I got out so there’s hope that he’s still alive”
“And knowing Maggie, she’s probably lookin’ for him” Michonne reassures whatever ounce of anxiety courses in Y/N’s mind when it came to the living status of their family.
Daryl glances back every once in a while to check on Y/N, making sure she was still behind them. She was getting slower and slower the more they walked endlessly.
And that only got worse after Terminus, and after the hospital…
The group was walking endlessly to a shelter that they have no idea exists. Everyone followed Rick’s lead and didn’t question it, but everyone was exhausted. Depressed. Mourning. It was just too much to deal with. Every break they took felt like it wasn’t enough and Y/N didn’t want to share anything on her mind when it came to her physical well-being. Meaning every thought of “just another five minutes” got shoved down and she found herself dragging her injured leg to avoid limping and stepping on it at times causing the sharp pain to radiate.
Her family took notice of the times she end up in the back and those who didn’t want to face the pain they endured mentally, they would stick with her and talk about it. She couldn’t just walk away, not that she would either. It was difficult to push her pain aside, literally.
“Why is he always looking back here…” Y/N whispers, catching Carol’s attention to look ahead noticing Daryl checking on them every now and then.
“You are always at the back. He’s checking on you. Making sure you’re still with us” Hm…
“It’s just…the deadpan look” Y/N shivered slightly a bit tense. “He’s a bit intimidating…and mysterious. But he’s kinda been like that always…just a bit more protective ever since reuniting…”
Carol may not know about what happened from the prison to terminus regarding her friends. But she knew why Daryl would be protective of Y/N.
The walking became rougher the more their group grew tired and dehydrated…Y/N started to think about staying behind. Because the stops didn’t last long but she found herself taking a while to get back up. Least her wounds weren’t bleeding anymore. The bruises lingered. Main thing being the limp and swelling…
Daryl couldn’t help the anxious feeling he got when the group started to pick back up after they had a break to look around their surroundings for food and water. He checked the group around him and then to the back…
No Y/N.
He didn’t want to rile anybody up and make everyone freak out, so he did his usual check around the group until he got to the back and once no one was looking he started to track back. It didn’t take long for him to find Y/N still sitting at the last spot they took a break at, she just thought it would be easier on them if she disappeared.
“Daryl…” Y/N frowns watching him kneel down to her noticing how bad her leg was and mentally beating himself up for not taking care of it sooner. A lot happened, there wasn’t a big enough window to take care of it. “You shouldn’t be here”
“Oh yeah? And you should?” His anger spilled into his tone with a hint of regret. “Why didn’t yea holler for anyone? Or me?”
“Thought it be easier…” Daryl gave her that same deadpan look that made Y/N now sigh because of the situation. “For me to just. Not hold y’all back”
“That ain’t right. Ain’t right one bit” Daryl scoffs trying to help Y/N up but she smacked his hands away for a moment. “Y/N.”
“Daryl just go. Seriously.” She frowns. “I don’t want to hold anyone back. That’s why I just told a few of y’all that I’ll catch up…”
“But you weren’t. And yea didn’t even tell me that. Since yea knew I would argue…well I’m gonna fucking argue” He sets his crossbow down turning himself around and patting his shoulders for her arms.
Y/N was confused. Confused as to why he cared so much. But she complied as she was too exhausted to try and defend her point in any way. What even was there to defend? She didn’t want to be the burden that she currently was and didn’t want to hold the group back. Daryl got that but every fiber of his being would scream if she wasn’t with them.
The retired sheriff gained suspicion when both Daryl and Y/N weren’t around him. But when he turned toward the back he saw the two. Daryl carried Y/N on his back as she had his crossbow on hers. He sighed a bit relieved before continuing further.
All this walking…made the suspicion thing of water magically appearing, very appealing.
“You think it’s poisoned?” Carol questions Rick as he shrugs, still not trusting it though.
“Someone is watching us”
“So we shouldn’t trust it” Sasha states watching Eugene instantly go for a bottle and the moment he opened it, Abraham smacked it out of his hand. “Seriously?”
“What?! Someone has to test it for poison”
“Should’ve been me” Y/N scoffs. “I doubt imma last much longer on this leg”
“Stop.” Daryl couldn’t help but be upset by such as he blocked her from going over to it. Even if she wasn’t going to.
Then a miracle happened, or a coincidence, whichever you believe in…when the rain started to pour. Few started to open the bottles, empty them and fill it with the rain. Others enjoyed the downpour…and those who’ve lost took it all in
Y/N still kept close to Daryl, this time for warmth but she felt uneasy…nothing changed with the physical feeling but something pained her chest as she looks up at Daryl noticing the sadness that radiated from his blank expression. She took a chance by gently interlocking her fingers with his as he instantly brought his attention to their hands before looking at her.
“I’m gonna be okay, Dixon. I have you”
Her words struck him down, while the rain actually made her fall down from slipping. A small laugh was shared even if that drew more worry from Daryl’s end.
The two have been close and the time from the Claimers to the barn being told about this new place that they could call home brought them closer. Now the group was being evaluated to be helpful around the community, they took their chances with it. With caution of course.
“How’s your leg?” Maggie asks Y/N once she got settled on the couch, after being told to stay out by both Daryl and Rick.
“The surgeon guy they have said I won’t lose it but I have to stop walking on it”
“And yea better listen” Daryl was quick to add bringing himself to the window behind the couch sticking close. Maggie let out a small laugh to his response but she knew he cared for Y/N.
It’s been a day and a half with being in this new community and Daryl kept to himself for the most part. Sticking outside on the porch of Carol’s on the side that connects to Rick’s. He would look in the window every now and then to check on Y/N making sure she stayed put. She slept for the most part given she didn’t let herself sleep when with the Claimers and during the illness she was afraid to. Finally not dealing with any threat she thought it would be okay and she was being taken care of so nothing to worry about.
Reg, Deanna’s husband, made his way over to the Grimes’ residence when most of them were out and Daryl instantly shot up from the porch when he got to the steps.
“Heard y’all had someone with a bum leg. Thought I’d bring these over” He states pointing out the crutches in hand. “We found them a while ago but knew Pete didn’t want your person using them immediately.”
“Thanks.”
“You gonna give them to…?”
“Y/N.” Daryl brought himself to the Grimes side and took the crutches as Reg smiles in his direction when he didn’t return it back. “Her name is Y/N”
“She’s important to yea, huh? I can tell” Reg smiles with a laugh followed as Daryl felt a twitch of a smile that he did his best to hide.
“I uh. Better get these to her…”
“If you ever need anything, don’t be afraid to ask” Reg adds while taking his leave as Daryl watches him go to make sure he was gone before going inside the house.
The man always manages to sneak up on everybody, but to his surprise Y/N wasn’t asleep and gave him a smile the second he walked in.
“You shower yet?” She smirks listening to him scoff instantly. “Carol made me ask next time you came in to check in on me”
“You know I’ve been checking on yea?”
“You are sneaky, but not that sneaky” Y/N smiles bringing her legs off the couch patting the space next to her. Daryl approached at first because of the discomfort that grew on her face when she moved her leg, but then sat with her when she relaxed once more. “Those for me?”
“Nah they’re for me” Daryl jokes, a bad one, but it got a small laugh from Y/N. “The swelling down?”
“Yes. Not completely but enough to move around I guess…” She carefully brought her leg onto the coffee table showing Daryl as his worry poured out of him but in his own way. His eyes said everything. “Daryl, can I ask you something?”
“Mhm”
“Why…why were you so upset when I told you to leave me behind? I didn’t…if this place never came, I wouldn’t have wanted to be a burden to you all”
“And I can’t live in a world without you” Daryl without any hesitation admits a hidden feeling that Y/N, of course, didn’t connect that at all by everything he’s done. But it made sense…
“Daryl…”
“I wanted to go back in, when that son of a bitch attacked the prison…but Beth dragged me out. Tellin’ me you’re still alive. I believed her, but I was angry” Daryl frowns keeping his eyes onto his hands as he messes with a loose thread at the hem of his shirt. “I would’ve been angry forever if I let yea die in there…then those fuckers had yea. Hurt yea…and thank fuck they met their end, for ever laying a hand on you. But it just got worse and you were hurting the entire time that I just. I just needed to control one thing just for a moment…to keep you around…so I’d understand if yea don’t feel the same way or anythin’. But I’ll always do my best to keep yea around. For everybody, for myself, and for you.”
The immediate silence gave mixed signals to Daryl but before he could even have the thought of getting up and giving her space. Y/N gently brought her hand to his, letting him carefully take hers.
“I know you’re serious about your feelings…Im a bit…taken back…because I’ve never been a first choice or whatever. I’m not the best at explaining my feelings”
“Neither am I” His thumb rubs circles against her hand feeling her squeeze his hand while a soft giggle escapes her lips.
“Yeah, but at least you said something” Y/N smiles warmly. “Because let’s be real. Rick or Carol or Maggie—-literally anyone in our group. Would’ve probably had to lock us in a room together to get one of us to say something…if my anxiety of being locked in places didn’t kick in” he hums for a quick response taking in her words.
“I thought I scared yea. That’s why I didn’t say nothin’ sooner”
“Mm. You are intimidating, but I was more afraid of being rejected more than anything”
“So…”
“It’s mutual, Dixon” Y/N continues to smile leaning into his space pressing her lips against his cheek as his eyes closed to impact, and he found himself leaning toward her when she pulled away. “We’ll take it slow, Daryl. But to reassure you…I’m yours and no one will change my mind”
Daryl exhales finally letting that weight of possible rejection go as he turned entirely toward her releasing her hand and gently brushing the loose hair out of the way of her beautiful face. Admiring every feature for a moment.
“Will you let me finally help yea, sunshine?”
And so she did.
It took a few days to get used to walking without the help of crutches or her family hovering whenever they got the chance. Y/N was given a pantry job like Olivia which made it easier for Rick’s plans and Daryl got close with Aaron so he’s been planning a run with him while also building a bike. Which lifted his spirits when in this place, beside her of course.
“Hey!”
Daryl quickly turns to the voice after turning his bike on and tried to fight back the smile that succeeded in shinning through when Y/N made her way over to him without too much of a struggle.
“Hey…how’re yea feelin’?”
“Better. Going on a test run?”
“Yeah, ain’t letting yea on it until I know it won’t fling yea off without me knowing”
“So considerate” She laughs followed by a smile. “Be safe. Can’t have you limping”
“Mhm. I will…and even if shit happened, I know I’ve got yea”

2023 End of Year Post - kdrama edition
Yes, we have a some of December left, and I want to check out Death's Game but whatever. I got time for this now and not sure if I will have later so here goes.
This is only going to cover kdramas that aired in 2023; if I watched it but it was made in a different year, it’s not on the list. This was an excellent kdrama year, the likes of which we hadn't had in a long time.
DRAMAS WATCHED
In order of liking from least to most as opposed to pure quality so pls don't come for me, fans of some popular dramas that are on my nope list. Also, I am including if I’ve seen enough to make up my mind; yes I realize that’s inaccurate, but that’s my list.
33. The Escape of the Seven - this is so aggressively stupid and mean that it feels like the makers are playing a practical joke seeing how much their audience will take. This has a season 2 coming, so the answer is a lot.
32. Behind Your Touch - the FL gets superpowers by touching people's and animals' butts. Yes, you read this right. Do I really need to add anything?
31. King the Land - yes, it was a hit. Yes, it stars popular actors. I HATED IT LIKE IT TOUCHED MY BUTT TO GET SUPERPOWERS!!! Plastic people in paint by the numbers story, with about as much genuineness or retability as a barbie aisle in walmart. I never expect much from Yoona so whatever, but to have LJH go from The Red Sleeve to this boggles the mind.
30. Mrs Durian - this is so dumb that I think I lost a few IQ points watching this, but its insanity becomes entertaining - I mean what kdrama can you name where a daughter in law declares her love and lust for her mother in law at a family dinner?
29. The Matchmakers - there is nothing offensive about this drama at all. But there is nothing in the least interesting either. If elevator music took drama shape, it would be this show.
28. Destined with You - sorry, Rowoon, I am still fond of you, but you are two for two in drama duds department this year. This is a drama where I loved ep 1, liked ep 2, was indifferent to 3 and...you get the point. Each ep was worse than the one before, and I bailed before I was dragged into a cosmic singularity.
27. Oasis - great first two episodes. Unfortunately it was not a two ep show. The performances are solid but the story is just not there - the effect is like a fancy chef making an amazing sauce to put on pig slop.
26. Boyhood - it's not you, it's me in action. I can see why people would like it but a 34-year old playing a high schooler in a Weak Hero Class 1 Slapstick Edition is no go for me.
25. Castaway Diva - it's so precious and kooky in the most annoying ways, with the most well-adjusted abused castaway in history. I like magic realism when done by Jorge Amado, but this ain't Amado.
24. Island - it had a good concept, good cast and fun visuals but the execution deserved one of ML's swords through the neck.
23. The Worst of Evil - if I wanted an American show, I'd watch one. Very solid performances though.
22. Song of the Bandits - period edition of what I said about The Worst of Evil.
21. Welcome to Samdalri - and goodbye to any hope of emotional involvement.
20. Joseon Attorney - I have yet to like a single sageuk centered around a profession and this was not an exception. I guess it could be worse but it also could have been so much better.
19. Twinkling Watermelon - everyone loved this drama. Everyone except for me. It's the kind of precious that sets my teeth on edge and I couldn't stand half the main characters we were supposed to root for. I guess I like my fruits to shine steadily.
18. Our Blooming Youth - probably the biggest disappointment on this list. This is not a bad drama by any means, but with that cast and that story (I loved the novel), I was hoping for a memorable sageuk not merely all right.
17. Vigilante - it has the emotional complexity and nuance of a punch to the throat but it gives us quasi-gay openly-murderous dudes going after psychos and Yoo Ji Tae holding feral Nam Joo Hyuk by his hoodie at his feet.
16. The Forbidden Marriage - expected nothing but it was a surprisingly enjoyable trifle of a costume drama that was also quite pretty.
15. Arthdal Chronicles: Sword of Aramun - a hot mess but such an entertaining epic one. And it gave us TWO Lee Jun Kis in period gear and who am I to cavil at the bounty of God?
14. The Story of Park's Marriage - it's a trifle, a souffle, so light it might blow away, but it keeps my attention and is so fun and sweet.
13. My Lovely Liar - a huge surprise, that manages to mix a murder mystery and a romcom, and shocked me by showing Hwang Minhyun can act.
12. Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938 - the original ToNT was my fave drama of its year and I did not think it needed a sequel. But this is not a sequel but more of a side-quel and is such a total delight with brotherly love, adventures, romance and hijinks. It's a joy.
11. Perfect Marriage Revenge - it's actually very hard to do a soap right but this slim 12 ep drama managed. So fun, so crazy, such a good ship!
10. My Lovely Boxer - not really about sports, but about two broken people finding salvation because of and in each other. Also, if you like age gap romances, this is delicious. Sort of loses steam by the end but c’est la vie.
9. The Secret Romantic Guesthouse - this was a sageuk that was not on my radar with a bunch of actors I was not familiar with but it took my heart away. A good plot that was perfectly paced, characters and ships I adored, a logical ending. This is one of the biggest positive surprises of the year for me.
8. Tell Me That You Love Me - a slice of life remake (sort of, it's more "inspired by") of my favorite jdrama of all time. It's not as good as the jdrama because nothing could be, but it's an aching lovely story with some incredible performances.
7. See You In My 19th Life - funny and romantic and haunting and hopeful and odd. This was one of my favorites of the year.
6. Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow - it's rare for me to like a (1) sequel (2) with FL actress change (3) that is a Hong Sisters drama. But this was such a gorgeous, surprisingly achy story of love and loss and love regained with some cool monster fighting in the middle. Between the two seasons, this is the first Hong Sisters' drama I enjoyed from beginning to end in well over a decade.
5. My Demon - so tropey (chaebols, supernaturals) but it proves that these tropes are popular for a reason. The chemistry is fire, the story is unpredictable and the whole thing is an addictive delight. A rare drama where I like each new ep more than the last one.
4. Goryeo Khitan War - an old school sageuk in every meaning of the term (no romance, no eye candy, lots of bearded men, battles and politics), this feels like watching an epic movie more than a drama. The vast cast all earns their place and the performances (mainly from character actors given a chance to shine) are incredible.
3. Call It Love - two very very damaged people finding love and healing with each other. This is a narrative very hard to do to my satisfaction but when it's done well, as here, there are few things that can hold a candle to it.
2. My Dearest - a masterpiece of cinematography, narrative, performances. This is an old-school epic romance in the best sense of the term. If it doesn't make you swoon or break your heart, there is something wrong with you. A story of two untraditional, strong-willed, flawed people who fall in love in the middle of the horrifying Qing invasion of Korea and have to deal with all that the world throws at them, this is a bona fide masterpiece.
1 - Moon in the Day - who knew my favorite kdrama of the year will star a store brand Domyoji from Extraordinary You and an actress I was never familiar with. But this part period/part modern fantasy tale of doomed cursed lovers is everything I knew I wanted and everything I didn't know I wanted but did. Two lovers where their love did not save them and in modern day it might not again, has got me obsessed the way I haven't been in years.
FAVORITE DRAMA
Moon in the Day - if there is such a thing as a drama made perfectly for me, this gorgeous, emotionally haunting, utterly romantic, twisty tale is it.
WORST DRAMA
The Escape of the Seven. This drama is proof that demons exist and not sexy ones like Song Kang but horrible nasty ones who delight in the torment this hot mess inflicted on its viewers.
FAVORITE MALE CHARACTER
Do Ha, Moon in the Day - a Silla general and a consummate killer who committed atrocities on the orders of his monster father and yearned to die for them, who found the meaning in life in loving his enemy but it did not make him better, a man so obsessed he literally was around for 1500 years of horrifying ghostly existence and still went "worth it" for a woman who killed him as long as he knew she loved him while she did it. He's intense and competent and beyond fucked up and has never had a normal day and I love him so so so very much from a safe distance.
Tumblr media
FAVORITE FEMALE CHARACTER
Gil Chae, My Dearest - she starts out as vain and spoiled but the horrors that break so many others bring out all her fierce survivor potential and she becomes such a force of nature - capable of incredible love but also sacrifice and strength and compassion.
Tumblr media
Runner Up: Shin Hye Sun's reincarnator in See You In My 19th Life - quirky, damaged, strong, so odd and so vulnerable at once.
Tumblr media
NEEDS TO BE MURDERED
There are a lot of characters who fit that category (King Injo in My Dearest? My God) but the crown belongs to So Ri Bu from Moon in the Day. You think you've seen abusive parents but until you've seen a man abuse his son his whole life and then continue for 1500 years after his death, you ain't seen nothing!
FAVORITE SHIP
The doomed by the narrative OTP of Moon in The Day. Only thing that's better than enemies to lovers is enemies while lovers and their impossible relationship where her killing him is a supreme act of love and his refusing to let go is so strong that he stays around for 1500 years watching her, helpless as she dies over and over again, is everything you ever want.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Runner up: Jang Hyun/Gil Chae, My Dearest. They are so strong and so damaged and it takes them so long to figure out what they feel and what the other person feels but their love and sacrifice and complexities are perfect.
Tumblr media
FAVORITE SECONDARY OTP
Kim Shi Yeol/Hong Joo, The Secret Romantic Guesthouse - an assassin bodyguard pretending to be a carefree scholar and a widow of the man he killed to protect his king (and whose life was destroyed as a result.) I enjoyed the main OTP of this drama but I was utterly and completely unhinged for the secondary couple.
Tumblr media
I'd have probably picked Rang and his mermaid from TotNT 1938 even over them, but they really were the main OTP of that drama.
Tumblr media
NOTP
King the Land couple seems like an easy target but honestly, they are both so terribly bland and antiseptic and marketing by committee, they kinda deserve each other. So I am gonna go with Destined with You, one half of which thinks supernaturally roofying someone into loving them is cute and the other half thinks dating one woman while wooing another is totally a-ok. Ugh.
FAVORITE SCENE
There is no competition for the scene in the slave market in My Dearest, where Jang Hyun finds Gil Chae - the way he screams and tries to clutch the hem of her skirt will live in my head forever.
Tumblr media
And the scene where he 'wins' that horrifying bet, or the scene where she finds him in a pile of bodies - they are as good also. Or when he fights off a squad to protect her even though he's sick. That whole drama is perfect.
Runner up: the scene of Do Ha executing Ri Ta's family, covered in blood, as she looks at him from the crowd in Moon in the Day.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Or the scene where he talks about how he cannot live as a person but at least maybe she will kill him and he will die as one. Or when her confession in the past intercuts with his walking in the present, or when he comes home in his bloodied armor and she finds he has a fever and it's the first tender touch he's probably ever known. Her murdering So Ri Bu saying she knows she's going against filial piety in loving her parents' murderer, the way they hug, both bloody, as he says "let's live." The way she says she can't go on as she's hit rock bottom and he replies she cannot quit because she must accompany him to his rock bottom now. Honestly, the drama is a font of amazingness.
Also, the opening scene of Goryeo Khitan War or the scene of Yang Gyu ordering to shoot the captives and having to do so himself.
The OTP meeting again at the intersection at the end of ep 1 of Tell Me That You Love Me. SHS comforting ABH as he's having a traumatic breakdown in 19th Life. The love-making scene in Call It Love. There were a lot of great scenes this year.
BIGGEST CRUSH
Lee Jang Hyun, My Dearest - is that even a competition? He's flawed - vain, often emotionally closed off, not great at processing emotions, lashing out when hurt. He is also incredibly heroic in a real, knows the cost but bears it, kind of way. Whatever he does, he commits utterly but it's never without understanding the cost. He felt both larger than life and utterly real. He went through hell and maintained his soul and the way he loved Gil Chae was breath-taking to behold.
Tumblr media
Runner Up: Yang Gyu, Goryeo Khitan War - an experienced military commander who wins an impossible victory even as it ravages his soul. Competence is sexy as fuck.
Tumblr media
BEST SCENE STEALER CHARACTER
Rang, Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938 - 1938 really was Rang's chance to shine and he took it. For a character I started out disliking in the original, he really stole my entire heart in this drama. I am so glad he got his happy ending with his brother and his girl.
Tumblr media
Runner Up: Crown Prince, My Dearest. He started out as a sheltered, spoiled aristocrat, convinced the world owed him for existing. He grew up slowly and painfully into an amazing man. And then was murdered for it and I cried.
Tumblr media
NEEDS A SEQUEL
Arthdal - it leaves the story at a good stopping point but it's very much a "world in flux, adventures and conflicts continue" ending and I would love to see more of these characters. I know we won't but it would have been nice.
NEEDS SCISSORS TAKEN TO IT
Behind Your Touch - should have been snipped at birth.
TOO MANY SCISSORS TAKEN TO IT
Vigilante - I don't mean it had scissors taken to it because it's not cdrama and there is no NRTA, but this drama would have benefitted from being longer. I mean, I love fights and gay polycules as much as the next tumblr person but a bit more character development would not have come amiss. (ahaha - I said come. Leave me alone.)
TROPE THAT NEEDS TO DIE
I don't care about cops/doctors/trash collectors/whoever - workplace drama centering on their "cases" needs to die. I hate procedurals from any country and Korea is no exception.
FAVORITE TROPE WE’VE SEEN A LOT OF
Supernatural critter devoted to their OTP with all the power of their long life.
BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT
Our Blooming Youth - it was far from terrible but it was a giant meh. I was so excited to see Park Hyung Sik in a sageuk (that wasn't the hot mess that was Hwarang) and I adored the source novel. It actually started well and then...it's like Revenge of the Beige!
BIGGEST GOOD SURPRISE
I want to say Moon in the Day but to be honest, I was excited by posters and trailers so it wasn't wholly a surprise despite not having much of an opinion on the actors before I saw them. So I am going to say My Demon. I was bored by the trailers, I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a Kim Yoo Jung drama and before this year I would have said Song Kang was an incredibly limited actor in everything I've seen him in and not appealing to me at all. And here I am rabidly rabiding for this drama!
If I am not limiting myself to dramas but can use this for actors - Hwang Minhyun in My Lovely Liar. I genuinely did not think the man could act and then he gave such a pitch-perfect, nuanced performance out of nowhere!
2023 DRAMAS I HAVEN’T SEEN THAT I MOST WANT TO WATCH
I have actually watched all the kdramas that aired this year that I wanted to check out except for Evilive. I am saving this for when I have time.
BEST NON-2023 DRAMA I’VE WATCHED IN 2023
I don't know if I'd say it's the best but Say You Love Me (2004) with Kim Rae Won as a quasi monk seduced away from his true love by an evil older woman was a hell of a ride.
MOST ANTICIPATED
Love Song for Illusion (Lady assassin falls for her royal target who has two personalities), Captivating the King (lady spy falls for her royal target who is tormented) - notice a theme? Also Flower that Blooms at Night because Honey Lee in a sageuk, The Life of Mrs Ock (Lim Ji Yeon in a sageuk), The Love Story of Chun Hwa (an "erotic" sageuk, hmmmm, what?!), Hong Rang (Lee Jae Wook in a super angst sageuk), Queen Woo (that cast and set in Goguryeo!), Wong Kyung (about Lee Bang Won's wife and I love the cast.) Basically, if it's period, I am there with bells on.

Come out Baby
What happens when you get bratty with your boyfriend and lash out? Obviously he's gotta remind you who's allowed to hit who.
Disclaimer: this is in no way me trying to promote hitting ur partners especially without consent and if they don't have a kink for it. Also this isn't proof read sorry I'll fix it later.⭐
Tags: spanking, slapping, spitting, heavy degradation, gn!reader × bangchan, no protection (please don't do that wear a condom) , face fuckin, choking, edging, ruined orgasms, etc.
Part 1
Tumblr media
You feel your nerves spiking from anticipation and fear. Surely he's not thinking what you think he is? You've talked about this happening in theory but never thought it would happen so soon.
Fuck man, you can physically feel yourself dripping in arousal as you watch your boyfriend pick up a flogger.
"legs open." That's all it takes for you to know what he's about to do.
Chan rubs his hands on your inner thigh while slightly tapping the flog on ur most sensitive part. "Ready baby?" He's asking sincerely but he's expecting a specific answer.
You respond with a simple yes sir and that's all it takes to feel the sharp heat between your legs. You moan out feeling the pain fade into pleasure as you feel yourself ache and drip more. The second hit comes with his hand on your throat and him bending over you abandoning the flog to rub you.
"Do you know how fuckin disrespectful you are?" Of course you do after all you're in this situation aren't you?
He starts increasing the speed of his harsh rubbing and you buck your hips earning another slap. Moaning earns you a wet feeling on your face which you come to realize is his spit. "You're really starting to piss me the fuck off." He's seething.
He stops what he's doing and grabs the lube from the table top before lubing up his cock and aligning it with your hole. "You can take me like this right? Whores don't get stretched out they just take whatever they're given don't they."
He slams into you knowing you can handle the sudden intrusion as long as there's some kind of lubricant. As he bottoms out you clench around him earning a dragged out fuck.
You feel so full and restless that you start grinding back on him.
"Stupid bitch can't even wait for me to bottom out fully?" He grabs your hips and starts to slam into you.
"Fuck you're so fuckin tight." He takes one of his hands off your hips to slap you across the face leaving you dazed.
"Awwe it doesn't feel so nice does it pretty?" He grabs you by the hair forcing your head back. Chan licks up from your collar bone to the cheek that has red and tingling. He leans down to your ear to whisper softly "Doesn't feel so nice does it? But then again you are a skank so I'm not surprised that you're clamping down on me from this."
He picks up his pace leaning back to use his free hands to start rubbing you.
You're so close, so fuckin close to getting a release.
"Fuck baby I'm cumming" You hear your boyfriend rasp out as his thrusts become sloppier until he's flooding your insides.
The tension in your abdomen is about to snap when he suddenly pulls out. You let out a loud whine looking up at him with tear filled eyes.
He smiles looking down at you before leaning down to kiss your cheek. "I'm sorry baby, what you did was unacceptable. What kind of boyfriend would I be if I just let you off scot free?" He pulls back and starts walking to the bathroom.
"I want you in the bathroom in 2 minutes."
.
.
.
Well then 🙃 I feel like this ending was a dud but I wanted mean channie saurr bad. After care happens in the bathroom btw so don't worry about being left to dryyyy. I hope you guys liked my lil chapter and don't be afraid to recommend prompts or anything. I'll write literally almost anything. Until next time 🩷

Misfire
Tumblr media
Summary: Dieter gets waxed for a role and gets a little too excited. Word Count: 966 Pairing: Dieter Bravo x GN! Reader Rating: 18+ Explicit Warnings: 18+ mdni, dubious consent, body hair waxing, pain kink, humiliation kink (kinda), subby!Dieter, ruined orgasm, coming untouched, hands-free orgasm, reader does not engage in sex acts, mentions of alcohol, mentions of drug use, accidental exhibitionism, accidental voyeurism Note: I'm hoping this will be part of a long series of one-shots where I write Dieter as a pathetic little subby, desperate, whimpering mess. As of right now I don't have any big plans for what to write next, but I'm always down for suggestions ;) - Also, I had a hard time with the warnings on this one, don't hesitate to let me know if I missed something that needs tagged.
Dieter Bravo does not feel shame.
His entire schtick is doing whatever the fuck he wants, unapologetically. He hasn’t batted an eye at a tabloid headline in decades.
But now… Now he feels like a fool. He’s gone and landed himself a really stupid part in a low-budget film about a bunch of old guys on an Olympic diving team.
Which, first of all, ouch. He knows he has some years under his belt, but he wasn’t ready to be typecast into old guy roles this early on.
But second of all, ouch again, because he’s gotta get a full body wax for this dud of a movie that’s inevitably going to sink anyway.
And not ouch in a bad way, per se. But ouch as in he’s kind of really into the sting, and he’s ass naked on this cold table covered in paper, hard as a rock.
Which was fine when he was turned onto his stomach. He was able to squish his cock in a not-so-pleasant way to stave off the desperation.
But now you’re telling him to flip over, and he doesn’t want to move. Any other time he’d be dying to get his cock out and swing it around. But you’re just trying to do your job, and here he is, leaking onto your poor little waxing table, soiling it.
With a heaved sigh, he rolls onto his back, clambering all awkward on the small space. You’re turned away from him, preparing the next glob of hot wax, and his cock throbs.
“I’m sorry,” he says, quiet and shameful, and you barely hear him.
“What’s that?”
Dieter can’t say it again. He just grumbles and covers his eyes with his arm as you fiddle with your waxing supplies and glance at him.
“Oh. It’s fine, happens all the time. I’ve seen worse.”
That at least gets him to huff out a laugh. You sound unbothered, and it eases him a bit.
“I’d hate to see worse,” he tries to joke.
You just hum in response.
You start on his chest, though there’s not much to wax there. His armpits are ticklish, which makes him even harder. His cock bobs in the air, angry and red and neglected. He’s afraid to move, he’s afraid to breathe, he’s such a hair trigger.
He starts thinking about all the directors he hates. He goes down the line, from his earliest project he can remember, and he’s about halfway through when you finally finish his shins and knees but it doesn’t help.
Your hand taps the inside of his thigh, prompting him to spread and bend, and the movement sends his cock lolling onto his stomach. It makes him jolt and suck in a deep breath. He can tell you’re trying to ignore it. He wishes he could.
And fuck, he hasn’t gotten off in like, a week and a half, caught up between traveling and getting whiskey dick at that party and leaving his Cialis at his friends with benefits’ apartment.
He jolts every time you wax the sensitive skin on the inside of his thighs. And every time he jolts, his cockhead rubs against his now smooth stomach. His dick is drooling.
When you get to the well groomed, thank you very much hair at the base of his dick, you have to wipe away the obscene amount of pre-cum that’s pooled there.
“Sorry,” he breathes again.
“It’s okay,” you tell him, swiping the taut skin.
It tugs on his dick. He whimpers.
His knuckles are white now, gripping the edge of the table so hard he’s sure there will be permanent nail marks on the pleather. He’s biting his bottom lip, a metallic taste blooms inside his mouth.
He’s lightheaded, between holding his breath and the fact that all his blood is in his dick, and his vision starts to tunnel a bit. Those tell-tale, fuzzy stars begin dancing around in the edges of his vision but promptly disappear when you grab his dick.
The sound he makes is pitiful, a pathetic plea to his own body to stop betraying him.
He chances a look down to see what you’re doing. One of your gloved hands holds his dick with just your thumb and forefinger, as professional as can be, while you spread wax across the wiry hairs just above it.
He’s on the edge, his cock is jerking and pulsing between your two fingers, and if he can just make it past these next few minutes he can spill into his own hand as soon as you leave the room to let him dress.
If only.
You rip the wax from his skin, and it tugs on his cock and it hurts and it feels so fucking good. The pleasure shoots down his spine and he cries out a pathetic little whine. He’s barely able to push your hand away in time, breathing out an apology just as his prick jumps and releases a long, thick rope of cum.
“I’m so sorry, fuck, s-sorry,” he pants.
Tears prickle behind his eyeballs as he just keeps coming. There’s so much it’s almost comical, spraying the tender, reddened skin of his chest and belly.  You’re just staring too, completely emotionless, waiting for it to end so you can complete your job.
Dieter whimpers again, biting his fist as he watches the last of his release dribble down his traitorous cock, then squeezes his eyes shut. A tear slips free, and he lets out a shuddering breath. This is the worst orgasm of his entire life, and that includes all the times he couldn’t help but rub one out with a UTI.
You clear your throat, and you’re handing him a box of tissues.
“I’ll let you clean yourself, then I’ll finish up.”
He hears your impatient sigh as you leave the room.  Apparently Dieter Bravo can feel shame.

Steven Hyde x Reader
Y'all I'm already halfway done with the next part so hopefully this is good
Word count:4.2k+ (Aka my longest piece yet)
Warnings, swearing, smoking, making out, slight sexual themes
Point Place, Wisconsin
April 5th, 1977
7:38pm
Location: Eric Forman's Basement
The sounds of Gilligan’s Island fill the basement from the television, smoke in the air as you all sit in the usual circle.
“It runs on water man! I swear you guys just don’t get it.” Hyde huffs, everyone kind of spacing out on their own highs.
“No we get it Hyde, we just also hear it every time we get in this damn circle.” You say, giggling at Donna playing with her hair.
“(Y/n), do you have any candy on you?” Fez clasps his hands together, begging for a yes.
“Of course Fez, someone has to keep you fed.” You throw him a pack of milk duds before throwing a second one to Kelso, already seeing the look in his eyes.
“Man (Y/n), if you weren’t always playing hard to get I’d totally do you.”
“It’s not playing hard to get if I don’t want you dumbass.” You punch his shoulder next to you as he dramatically leans back.
“That hurt!” You smile at him before flicking his nose in response.
“You know, if you’re not careful you’re gonna turn into Red.” Forman looks at you, nodding softly to himself.
“Actually I think your mom is who I want to be when I grow up. Minus the whore daughter and smart mouthed son.” Hyde lifts his arm for a high five to which you give him in pride.
“BURN!” Kelso yells, laughing uncontrollably despite the fact it wasn’t even that good of a burn, just the first time you’ve ever retaliated.
“She’s coming along nicely right? I’m teaching her everything I know.”
When you met the group, you were this quiet 13 year old that had just moved to Point Place from Louisiana. Donna had been the first to approach you, giving you a verbal invitation to join her for lunch. Ever since, you’ve been there for all the shenanigans they’ve done. Usually playing mom for the group to keep them from actually dying. You can safely say you were not there the last time Kelso fell off the water tower otherwise all the pain of a hospital trip and Eric walking in on his parents doing the nasty would’ve not been necessary. The last year, you’ve been tired of being so quiet and reserved around the general public. Hyde offered you an apprenticeship of zen, though you mostly smoke and talk.
“Only took 4 years but here she is, blossoming into a degenerate.” Donna grabs your shoulders like a proud mom, shaking you slightly. Almost instantly the door to the basement swings open, Jackie darting in and standing in front of the TV.
“Donna, (Y/n) are you two ready or not? I’ve been waiting next door listening to Bob sing.” She cringes before walking closer to the couch and pulling you both up by one arm.
“For such a tiny little thing you sure are strong.” You spat, tinge of annoyance in your voice.
“We’re supposed to be having girls night! Facials, manicures, the whole works and instead you’re down here with the boys doing god knows what.” She huffs tapping her foot.
“Relax Jackie, we just needed a circle session to prepare for this.” You say, dramatically gesturing between the girls and you.
“We better go before Jackie drags us out.” Donna gives Eric a kiss goodbye before us three go next door for a night at Donna’s.
There's a moment of silence in the basement, interrupted by Eric clearing his throat.
“Soo, my room has a perfect view of the girls’ sleepover.” Eric points upstairs before all the boys jump up from the couch to head upstairs, hoping to steal a peek at what the girls are doing.
“Donna, remind me to buy your dad pajama pants for Christmas.” You shiver recalling her dad in just a robe and underwear. You all three sit on Donna’s bed as Jackie ruffles through the bag she brought.
“Okay since I know whatever you’re using doesn’t work I brought face masks from home.” Donna pushes Jackie over on the bed as you look through the options. As you all apply the masks in silence, Donna puts music on since she was the first to finish hers.
“So (n/n), any guys? Maybe a secret lover?” Donna shimmies her shoulders in an over-the-top way causing a laugh from you as the blush spreads through your face.
“I mean, I haven’t actually had a crush since we were sophomores. There may be one developing though so we shall see.” You grab one of the stuffed animals Jackie brought, pulling it to your body to hide yourself.
“Well who is this contender? This is history making!” Jackie grabs your shoulders to look up at her.
“I wouldn’t say that-“
“You haven’t had a love life for over two years. I mean there was the one from the house party I brought you to but that was it and it was only one night.” You dig yourself more into the stuffed animal.
“You guys are gonna scream if I say though. Maybe not angry scream but definitely scream.” Their eyes widen as they look between each other and you.
“OH MY GOD IT’S HYDE!” Jackie screams, making you clamp a hand over her mouth.
“Shut the hell up please, we already know the boys are gonna try to sneak in or something like they always do.” You say in a hushed tone, brows furrowed and face bright red.
“Oh my god it is Hyde!” Donna says, grabbing your face with both hands.
“Tell us everything.” You nod as she lets go of you, about to spill all the little moments and stolen glances.
“Dude, what do you think they’re talking about?” Eric says, trying his hardest to hear through the walls.
“I don’t know but- OH JACKIE IS ABOUT TO KISS (Y/N) I REPEAT JACKIE IS ABOU- Oh she was just grabbing her by the shoulders.” Kelso had the binoculars, watching their every move.
“They’re probably talking about boys, or how attracted they are to each other. Look how pink (Y/n) is.” Fez says, eating the popsicle he grabbed from the basement.
“Wait, is- GUYS DONNA IS GONNA KISS (Y/N)!” They all scurry to get closer the window before seeing her pull away.
“Damn why do they keep doing that!?”
“Okay there’s definitely something going on. Jackie isn’t talking at all!”
“Whatever (L/n)'s saying must be really good.” Hyde looks at your side profile, taking in the pink settling through your face and how fast you're talking.
“I'm definitely not his type though, I mean you remember that biker chick. He almost ran away with her!" Donna shakes her head at you.
"Dude you're the only person he doesn't mess with."
"Because I'm the least annoying in the group." Jackie scoffs as you giggle at her.
"Oh please you run around playing mom, that's annoying enough."
"Hey I make it safe fun, you make it no fun. Constant 'don't do that Michael, you're all idiots' it's so annoying. News flash, they're still gonna do it! " She pulls your hair and before you can retaliate, Donna is pushing down to the bed.
"Okay then how about we go see what movies are on?" The redhead exclaims, dragging you both off her bed.
"What's up losers?" You say as you barge into the basement, grocery bags in hand.
"What did you bring?" A smirk comes across your face before putting all but one bag down.
"Just a little something for everyone. First, Fez here's some family size skittles." You present them dramatically before throwing the bag to the boy.
"Okay next we have Frito's, potato chips, Pringles, chocolate for Donna specifically because I love you, some Jackie approved soda since it's never here, and beer!" As everyone grabs at the pile of food, you stand there accomplished. You make your way to sit on the floor before Hyde gets up without a word and sits on the arm of the couch. Your brows furrow at him before he motions for you to sit down in his chair. You reluctantly sit, everyone freezing at the sight.
"Why are you in Hyde's chair?" Fez asks, popping a skittle in his mouth.
"More importantly, why did Hyde give up his chair?" Eric's eyes go wide as a lightbulb goes off in his head.
"Wa-" Before he could even finish a word, Donna is elbowing him in the side to shut him up.
"No way, they're doing it!" Kelso exclaims, pointing back and forth at you both. Hyde punches him in the shoulder, causing a pained 'ow' to come from the boy.
"Oh my god it's a damn chair. Hyde take your chair back." You stand up and move to the floor, arms crossed over your chest. Of course, the guys don't miss the pink flush to your cheeks.
"Nah, I'm good right here." Hyde replies shortly, taking a drink of his beer. As you and Hyde have a staring contest between you and the empty chair, the group is looking at you two like animals in a zoo.
"And here we have the female lioness, asserting her dominance as the male tries to feign attraction." Eric speaks, in a somewhat terrible accent.
"You know what, I'm going to spend time with someone who appreciates my presents and my presence." You smile as you stand up, grabbing the only item left in the grocery bag.
"Oh Mrs. Formannnn~" You yell, running up the stairs. A silence cuts through the basement as everyone stares at Hyde.
"You guys are morons." Hyde sighs, going back to his spot.
"You totally like her!" Jackie yells, a smile on her face.
"Whatever." He leans back, drinking his beer.
"Oh (Y/n) marry me and have my babies!" Fez says as Kelso pretends to kiss someone. Hyde gets up and punches them both in the shoulder before heading to his room. Once Donna hears his bedroom door close, she looks at everyone remaining in frustration.
"If you guys don't stop teasing those two, they will never get together! I mean come on we've seen this coming for a year now." Eric furrows his brows at the girl, confused.
"Wait, you knew they liked each other for a year and didn't tell me?"
"Eric, they've never admitted it. It's just obvious." Fez states, finishing the last of that big bag.
"Actually, we finally got (Y/n) to admit to it kind of. She tried to say it's not a crush yet."
"Well can't we just tell Hyde she likes him so he makes a move?" Kelso scoffs at Eric, making Eric slowly look at the dummy.
"Of course not!"
"That's not a bad idea, but we can't just tell him. After that, we have to figure out a way to get them alone together." Donna adds, trying to figure out how they can execute this plan.
You were currently driving to the Forman's to pick the girls up for a nice dinner which Jackie weirdly offered to pay for. Apparently Donna's parents have been at it again, so she needs an escape. As you park and get out you realize Forman isn't home. You go through the basement door rather loudly.
"Where's my girls?" You call out, waiting for a response. When there was none, you look around confused on their absence. You plop yourself on the couch assuming maybe they're late.
"What are you doing here?" You jump before turning around and seeing the curly headed boy you've grown accustomed to.
"Donna and Jackie were supposed to meet me here to go get dinner but I guess they're late. Or forgot?" You huff, crossing your arms across your chest.
"So that's why you're all dressed up." He decides to turn the tv on before sitting in his chair. You realize a slight shift in his energy as he stares off into the tv, not paying any attention to the show.
"You okay?" He glances over at you before looking back at screen, sighing.
"Yep. Wanna smoke?" You nod and move closer to the arm of the couch. Before long he's back to his usual self, albeit still quiet.
"I can't believe they had me wear a skirt just to not show up for our plans." You huff, leaning on the arm of the couch closer to him.
"Well you look good, we don't see you in skirts a lot." He opens the beer can he got from his hiding spot and took a sip. You feel the heat rise to your face and suddenly you can't stop staring at him.
"Thanks I guess, I usually have to be careful with what I wear around the two pervs. Ever since Kelso got a peek under my homecoming dress freshmen year, I said no short skirts ever again. And thank god Fez doesn't know where I live." He chuckles at that last part giving a nod in agreement.
"I don't think I've been to your place either." He states, looking back at you.
"I mean the only pro is smoking in my room, but that's because it's the attic. You'll have to come over sometime."
"Guess I do." Your eyes drift to his lips and you feel his hand lightly hold your knee.
"I think I want to kiss you." Hyde finally admits, rubbing circles into your knee.
"I think I want you to." He leans in as you close your eyes, feeling him press his lips to yours. You slowly move in sync, trying to lean in closer. His tongue glides against your lips and you part your lips, a sigh escaping you. His hand moves to the side of your neck, tilting your head up as he stands to move next to you on the couch. He pulls away, both of you slightly out of breath.
"Is this okay?" He whispers, you nod in response due to your words failing you. This time you lean in, bringing him into a passionate and deep kiss. He leans you back on the couch as he kisses down your jaw to your neck. A small moan escapes your lips when he lightly bites at the place your shoulder and neck meet, his hand lightly rubbing your exposed waist.
“Steven honey, dinner is ready!” You both quickly pull away from each other, praying she doesn’t come downstairs. Your breathing is jagged as you fix your skirt.
“I’ll see you tomorrow?” Hyde speaks up, looking at you with a smirk.
“Y-yeah, I’ll see you tomorrow.” He kisses you one last time, knocking the wind out of you before heading upstairs. As if right on cue, Donna and Jackie come through the basement door.
“Hey, you ready for dinner?” Donna asks, both trying to hide the smiles on their faces.
“Where have you two been!? I’ve been waiting an hour.” They both smile at you, a knowing look on their faces.
“Oh shoot, we must have given you the wrong time! Well doesn’t matter, looks like you had fun.” As Jackie giggles to herself Donna sits next to you, wondering how you’re blushing even more.
“What are you t-talking about? I’ve just been sitting here.”
“Mhm, and what’s that on your neck?” Jackie grills, making your eyes widen. Your focus shifting between the two girls, staring at their smiling faces. A sigh of defeat leaves you.
“Damn I’m not getting out of this huh?” They drag you off the couch, heading out the door to finally get dinner.
The next day as you stood on the driveway of the Forman’s house you grew nervous to enter. Unfortunately your new buddy on your neck was barely budging with makeup, so the boys are going to see it. Deciding you’d rather not run into Kitty or Red, you head towards the basement door. As you enter, you quickly dart to the couch with a wave. You look up and see just Donna and Eric next to you, his eyes wide.
“Hey uh (Y/n), what’s going on?” His eyes dart between your neck and eyes, trying hard not to stare.
“Not much, I slept in thanks to that dinner last night. That food was crazy.” You look at Donna, reminiscing on crème brulée and crab Rangoon.
“N-not much, cool cool. Hey what’s on your neck there?” The smile on his face is slappable as you smile back.
“What’s it look like?” You test him, waiting for him to crack.
“It looks like a hickey, now who would be giving you a hickey?” He taps his finger against his chin before pointing at you.
“Could it be our very own Hyde?” Your eyes widen slightly before you instantly go back to your smile, this time leaning in a little to meet his face in front of Donna.
“Why don’t you ask him?” You push his forehead away from you hard, earning a groan from the skinny boy.
“You guys act like siblings more than Eric and Laurie.” Donna laughs, pulling her boyfriend back down on the couch before he could go ask Hyde. Like clockwork, Hyde comes downstairs, sodas in hand.
“I don’t know why I had to go get these.” He huffs, putting them on the table before realizing you’re here. He sits down on his chair, staring at you before giving a nod. You smile at him, leaning on the arm of the chair.
What you don’t see is Forman’s shit-eating grin because he was definitely right. Before he can say so however, Kelso and Jackie are barging in already arguing. It doesn’t take long for it to stop when Kelso sees you.
“Oh man Hyde that’s gotta burn!” He laughs, Jackie stepping on his foot.
“Kelso, shut up.” Hyde tries to keep his smirk down, but it slips easily.
“Come on just a few days ago you were offering her your chair and now she comes here with a hickey!” You’re bright red at this point, begging anyone with your eyes to get him to shut up.
“Kelso think about that very slowly. The day with the chair, remember anything else that happened? Like maybe yesterday?” Donna speaks like he’s a preschooler, which kind of works. You watch the wheels turn in his head, gears shifting as he looks between everyone before gasping.
“Oh my god, they’re doing it!” Kelso jumps earning a slap on the shoulder from Jackie.
“Kelso, we’re not doing it.” Hyde huffs, annoyed with all his friends.
“…yet.” You mumble, only Donna and Hyde hearing you.
“What so-“
“Kelso shut the hell up and sit down.” He sighs and sits on the arm of the couch closest to the chair Jackie is in.
“Where’s Fezzy boy?” You ask, not feeling the usual feeling of him staring.
“He should be here soon, something about his foster parents trying to get him baptized.” Eric speaks up, clearly amused. You giggle a little at the thought before resting your head in your hand propped on the couch arm.
“You okay?” Donna asks, getting Hyde’s attention. She rubs your shoulder a little for comfort as your head sinks into your hand.
“Just tired, you think Kitty would let me go sleep in Laurie’s room since she’s ‘scouting schools with a girlfriend’ or will Red stop her?” You smile lazily at Donna, earning a laugh from her.
“With that hickey, I think she’d stop you for questioning first.” You sigh and sit up straight, trying to wake up a little.
“Maybe circle time will wake you up.” Eric interjects, shaking a brown baggie.
“Dude, anyone tell you you have bug eyes?” You giggle and poke at Eric’s face.
“And she’s awake!” He grabs your finger and puts it down, chuckling at you.
“You know, I never saw you as a hickey girl (Y/n), thought you must’ve been a prude if you didn’t want me.” Both Hyde and Jackie punch either arm, causing Kelso to jerk back in his chair.
“You started the circle without me!?” Fez sits on the floor in front of you, pouting slightly.
“Sorry man, she was totally about to fall asleep.” Donna says, braiding a small section of your hair. You giggle and pat the boy in front of you’s head.
“(Y/n) come here.” Hyde says in a low tone, everyone else talking amongst themselves. You lean in closer to hear him.
“What’s up?” You try to look at his eyes through the sunglasses with no luck.
“Why don’t you come sit with me? Just so no one’s on the floor you know?” You blush as you look at him.
“A-are you sure?” He nods and you stand, tapping Fez to take your spot. Once he sits on the couch, you sit on the edge of Hyde’s lap. Soon, he’s pulling you into him, keeping an arm around your waist while the other lays on your knee. Your friends all stare but say nothing, not wanting to scare you off like last time. It would be hard though when all you can concentrate on is the feeling of his warm skin on yours and his breath fanning your neck.
“When did this happen?” Fez asks, mostly excited but slightly sad as well.
“Last night.” Hyde responds, causing a blush on your face as you look around the room for reactions.
“We’ll still have our weekly dinners, right (N/n)?” The boy on the couch asks you, making you rub his shoulder and smile.
“You mean us going to the candy store and spending way too much just to eat it all in one night? Yes fez, I’m not abandoning our sugar addiction.” He pumps his fist and is all smiles now.
“I didn’t know you and Fez were close?” Hyde asks you, rubbing your knee.
“Yeah, gotta make sure you boys aren’t tainting him. Specifically Kelso.” He nods and leaves a peck on your cheek.
“Okay I know we planned this but did we think about us having to be around it?” Jackie asks, huffing as kelso laughs.
“Jackie how many times have one of us walked in on you and Michael smacking on the couch?” You say, shuddering slightly at the memory.
“She’s got you there babe.” Kelso smiles at her before she slaps his shoulder.
“What so are you guys official? Or just messing around?” Donna asks, before realizing this conversation is missing something.
“You know what you come with me.” Donna points at you and ushers you both up the stairs.
“Donna why did we need to go upstairs for this?”
“Is that my favorite daughter?" you hear kitty in the other room and your eyes go wide. As you’re lead to the kitchen, kitty looks at you and instantly her smile is wider and she’s clapping and laughing.
“Finally you two happened! I’m assuming the plan worked?” Kitty asks Donna, receiving a nod from the redhead.
“Wait you had Mrs. kitty help you?”
“Just had her call Hyde up so we could be alone with you for the interrogation.” You all three sit at the dining table, kitty putting out cookies that you gladly take.
“So, are you two official?” Kitty asks, pushing the cookies closer to you.
“I mean I guess not? We didn’t talk about it. We were just watching tv while I waited for the girls, and he said he wanted to kiss me.” You take another cookie.
“But he’s practically all over you. At least as much as Hyde can be.” Donna says, looking at Kitty.
“He told her to share his chair so Fez could sit on the couch instead of the floor.” Kitty gasps and claps in excitement again.
“Honey he is smitten, he never cares about the boys’ comfort.” You think about it before the pink comes back to your face again today. If you keep blushing it may end up permanent.
“I mean I know he’s not good at talking about feelings, so I don’t wanna ask. I’d rather just let it happen.” You grab a third cookie before standing up, ready to head back downstairs.
Little did you know, Jackie was leading the interrogation downstairs, knowing the boys would mess it up somehow.
“So Hyde, are you gonna ask her out or what?” She asks, the boys looking between her and Hyde.
“I don’t know man.” He shrugs, causing Jackie to stand up.
“Well you gotta figure it out. If you actually like her you have to ask her. I know Michael and Eric told you how (Y/n) feels and I may not like her but she’s better company than you and I don’t want her all sad when we’re supposed to be talking about me!”
“She doesn’t seem sad to me.” You walk down the stairs, cookie still in hand.
“I’m back!” You move to sit with Hyde again, ignoring the empty spot Donna was in.
“Wait there’s cookies?” Fez and Kelso instantly stand up, dragging Jackie and Eric with them.
“Man they’re annoying.” Hyde sighs, stealing a pinch of cookie.
“Yep, we have pretty annoying friends. And family, apparently Kitty was in on it.” You look at him, leaning his head back over the chair. He looks back up at you and draws circles into your waist.
“Oh well, wanna go to the hub?” The look in his eyes is a tad newer, slight worry and suddenly you realize he’s asking you out.
“Little cliche but I’ll let it slide. Come on.” You stand from his lap and lean down to give him a kiss as you pull him up. The smile on your face says everything as he wraps his arm around you and lead you to the door.

Thanks to @snoopdogcone for this prompt for @choicesprompts Flufftober event! (Blind date mistake)
Book: Open Heart (Book 2 Timeline) Pairing: Tobias Carrick x Casey MacTavish (F!MC) Rating: Teen Words: 1,741 Summary: Casey's cousin, Peter, is insistent. She has to meet his friend, Ian. Ian's new to Boston, and Peter knows they'll be a match! Casey would rather be on her couch after a long day at work, but a twist of fate has her glad she went after all.
A/N: This is a one-off and not part of my HC for the couple, though I kind of wish it was because it's really cute! :) Also participating in @choicesmonthlychallenge Laughter/Holding Hands.

It wasn’t Casey’s usual hangout. The ReelHouse was definitely more upscale than Donahue’s. But tonight, she looked every bit the part, even though she would rather be anywhere else. She fidgeted with the edge of her sweater, wondering how she had let herself get talked into this. After everything that happened with Ethan last year, she had sworn off men and women for good. Well, at least until her residency was over. But her cousin Peter had been relentless.
“You’re going to love Ian! Trust me, cuz. When have I ever hooked you up with anyone bad?” “Charlie Whitacker. College. Senior year. He began FLOSSING at the table mid-meal, Peter!” Peter’s laughter was so loud it felt like he was in the room, not on the phone, three states away. “Yeah, I forgot about that. For what it’s worth, I don’t see Ian doing that... he wasn’t one of my frat brothers.” Casey let out a sigh. “You’re not going to give up until I meet him, are you?” “Look, I’m doing you a favor. This way, when you come home for Thanksgiving, you can honestly tell Grandma you have been on a few dates. What’ll it hurt, Case? It’s a couple of drinks.” “Fine! Just tell me where and when.”
And that’s how she found herself sitting at the bar, glancing at the door, hoping this guy would be a no-show. Five minutes late, not terrible, she thought; she was already counting down the minutes. If he didn’t show in the next ten, she could be home on the couch, watching post-season baseball with zero awkward small talk.
The bar door swung open, letting in a gust of wind that couldn’t be ignored. Casey’s eyes flicked over to see if Ian had arrived, but it was Tobias Carrick, of all people. He strolled in like he owned the place, looking effortlessly put together in slim jeans, a crisp button-down, and a blazer that probably cost more than her entire wardrobe. But what struck her most was his trademark grin, half smirk, half pure mischief. It lit up his face as his eyes found hers.
 “Casey?” He looked genuinely surprised as he made his way over.. “What are you doing here?”
“Hey, Tobias,” she smiled politely. “I’m on a blind date.”
“A blind date?” He looked around. “With who?”
She shrugged, a little embarrassed. “Some guy named... Ian, I think? I’ve never met him. I’m just...waiting.”
Tobias’s expression shifted, eyes narrowing slightly, as an idea seemed to spark. Before Casey could react, he slid onto the stool next to hers, draping his arm casually over the back of her chair. “Tell you what, I'm going to help you out.”
Casey’s eyes narrowed, her lips turning into an amused smile. “Oh? And how exactly do you plan on helping me?”
Casey had to look away when he grinned her way. That mischievous glint in his eye was doing something to her that she wasn't ready to confess.
“I’ll pretend to be your date. We’ll sit here and have a drink or two. If this Ian guy shows up and he’s a total dud, I’ll get you out of here, and I’ll spare you a dreadful evening.”
You can’t just pretend to be my date, Tobias.”
“Why not?” His voice was smooth and playful. “I can be pretty convincing.”
Of that, she had no doubt. He was a known flirt, and she knew he could back that up. She always had a bit of a crush on him, though she never said that out loud. Still, she swore off dating for the next few years, and Tobias was just the kind of guy who could bring that hiatus to an end in five minutes flat. Her heart raced as she tried to hold on to her resolve. Was it possible to feel her willpower wavering?
"I think I’d be safer taking my chances with Ian,” she finally said, though her tone was less than convincing.
“Are you sure about that?” He asked, gaze steady on her.
“Fine,” she relented, crossing her arms. “But if Ian doesn’t show, I’m going home to watch the game. Got it?”
“The Yankees?” Tobias scoffed. “You’re a fan?”
“I’m a baseball fan,” she smiled. "And yes, I wish I was on a couch watching it right now."
“I’m a baseball fan, too,” he smiled, flagging down the bartender to order drinks. “And, believe it or not, I’ve got a couch. Let’s see where the night takes us."
The conversation flowed naturally—work, baseball, and Tobias cracking jokes that kept her laughing. She noticed, though, that her laugh made his eyes soften in a way that sent warmth to her chest. As the minutes ticked by, Casey found herself relaxing, the tension slipping away. She even stopped checking her phone. Tobias had always been dangerously charming, and the spark between them, the one she always tried to ignore, seemed undeniable tonight.
But just as they ordered another round of drinks, the door opened, and Casey’s stomach sank. A guy matching Ian’s description stepped in, awkwardly scanning the room.
“Shit,” Casey muttered under her breath, her smile faltering. “I think that’s him.”
Tobias glanced over his shoulder, then back at her with a grin. “He definitely looks like an Ian.” He leaned in closer, lowering his voice. “What’s the plan, Case?”
Before she could answer, Ian spotted her and started walking toward them. Tobias didn’t miss a beat. He slid his hand over hers, leaning in so that his lips were close to her ear. His voice dropped into a low, intimate tone. “Just follow my lead.”
Then he spoke louder, “Hey babe, you ready to head out? We can grab that sushi you love before we watch the end of the game.”
Casey blinked, barely keeping up. “Oh! Uh, yeah—”
Ian stopped in front of them, his face full of confusion. “Casey?”
Her heart pounded. “You’re late,” she said flatly, playing along.
Tobias stifled a laugh, offering Ian a friendly smile. “Oh, hey, man. I didn’t catch your name.”
“Oh, I’m Ian,” he replied. “I think... I’m supposed to be meeting Casey for a date?”
Tobias gave a small chuckle and looked at Casey, squeezing her hand. “Looks like there’s been a little mix-up, pal. I’m Tobias, Casey’s boyfriend.”
Casey’s eyes widened, but Tobias winked subtly, keeping his cool.
“Boyfriend?” Ian looked completely taken aback. “But Peter...”
“Peter,” Tobias sighed. “He never did like me. He doesn’t know yet,” Tobias continued. “We’ve been keeping it low-key for a while now, figured we’d tell the family when she takes me home for Thanksgiving.”
He stood and guided Casey up with him. “I’m really sorry about the confusion, though. You know how it is.”
Casey couldn’t believe what was happening. She smiled at Ian apologetically. “I’m so sorry. This is... really an awkward misunderstanding. But, uh, nice to almost meet you?”
Ian blinked, processing the situation. “Uh, yeah. Sure. I’ll… I’ll go call Peter.”
Tobias led them out the door, his hand resting on the small of her back as if it had been there dozens of times before. As soon as they stepped outside, Casey burst out laughing, stopping in her tracks to face him.
“Tobias Carrick!” She exclaimed. “Oh my god, what did you just do?”
“What?” He grinned, unbothered. “I just saved you from a shitty blind date. You’re welcome.”
He grinned, completely unbothered. “I just saved you from a boring blind date. You’re welcome.”
Casey shook her head, still laughing. “You may have ruined my chance with my future husband!”
Tobias leaned in, eyes twinkling. “Really? Did you want to marry him?”
She paused, her lips curving into a soft smile. “No, not really.”
“Good,” he said, brushing a stray lock of hair from her face. “Because I wasn’t about to let some guy named Ian steal you away. Not when I can have you all to myself for the night.”
She looked up at him, suddenly aware of how close they were standing. His hand was still resting on her back, and his eyes filled with a warmth that made her feel like she was the only person in the world.
“Well,” she swallowed, “I guess I can go watch the rest of the game.”
Tobias smiled, his voice dropping to a low, playful tone. “Mmm-hmm. On my couch, after we grab sushi. How’s that sound?”
She bit her lip. “Only if you can figure out a good way to tell my family I don’t actually have a boyfriend by Thanksgiving. Trust me, that little lie will spread like wildfire."
“By Thanksgiving?" He smiled, his voice dangerously low. "That’s five weeks away. By Thanksgiving, I’m hoping you will have a boyfriend.”
“Well, you better make a killer pumpkin pie,” she replied, with more confidence than she was feeling. “Because I’m not letting you tag along empty-handed.”
His grin widened. “I’ll bring the pie and your dad’s favorite scotch. Have to make a good impression."
She laughed, and before she could think twice, Tobias leaned in, pressing his lips to hers in a soft, deliberate kiss. When they pulled apart, Casey smiled up at him, warmth filling her chest.
“Is this a date, Dr. Carrick?”
He offered her his arm, and she slipped hers through with a smile. “You better believe it,” he said, his voice rich with promise. “And the next one won’t start like we're pretending.”
“You’re something else,” she smiled, leaning closer to him. She knew she’d have to fill Peter in later, but as they walked away, she couldn’t shake the feeling that, somehow, this had turned into the best blind date of her life.

I have a theory:
So, Rio is definitely Lady Death and she had to take Nichola’s soul to the afterlife as that’s literally her job and Agatha begged her not to this is why Agatha “hates her”. But I think it will be deeper than that, it’s not that Agatha exchanged Nicholas for the dark-hold for power, he died naturally and she tried to take the dark-hold to bring him back but failed… this is what she wanted from Wanda too.
Teen is clearly not Nicholas but they wanted you to believe that. I’m kinda glad they finally clarify it wasn’t him. Agatha definitely thought he was Nicholas and it was important for Rio to clarify to her that Teen isn’t her son because I feel like it would be playing with her if she thinks Nicholas is there and they could finally be happy. This reveal will definitely build Agatha’s walls once again. My only question, is Rio an independent agent or she’s working for someone? Perhaps an agent of Miphesto?
And Teen. I have a 50/50 opinion on him. I think he will turn out to be a lot more devious than he shows or he genuinely has not clue. I know people think Wanda put the sigil on him but I think it was Teen himself that did it, he just doesn’t remember. And it feels like he is somehow dudding his identity? So I think some of his memories are not with him and it will all tie to the car crash from East view. One thing’s for sure, he will regain his memories and unlock the propose of why he is there - and that’s when they’ll do the W***** reveal *if it is true*.
Oh that would be interesting, to see that Nicholas wasn’t exchanged for the dark hold and was actually the reason she sought it (not that I think she’d have exchanged him in the first place), I like that theory a lot!
Yeah, I feel like they purposefully tried to make it seem as if Teen was Nicholas on the 3rd episode. I didn’t think that she thought he was Nicholas, but that makes sense. The looks she gives him always give me a “I don’t trust you” vibe, but that might just be her yearning to find out who he is…ANDD YES, that’s the million dollar question, but as I’ve said in a previous post I do think she’s working for someone, being compelled to do what she needs too… I think it is Mephisto, bc of the name drop, but honestly idk anything about him so 🤷🏻‍♀️
I think this clueless boy is an act and no, I don’t think Wanda was the one who putted the sigil on him and I don’t think she will be mentioned in future episodes, not in that sense at least (this is kind of what I hope tbh). The idea of him not having his full memories is pretty interesting! But I don’t remember any car crash, so I don’t know what you’re talking about in that sense 😭. They will definitely revel his identity at the end and I’m sure is W bc this information came from the same place Rio’s identity came from and it was basically confirmed this episode
Thank you for sharing your theories!!

June, 2015
If there was a god, I bet it would be smugly smirking down on me as if it was any better than I am.
To preface, today I went away into domain expansion with Uraume. bad fucking idea.
Uraume couldn't stop nagging about how I'm rotting from the inside with all this mushy love stuff. I almost feel like one of your kind, my Emperess, is this what you have to go through everyday? I hate the feeling yet enjoy it to an extent, it doesn't change my mind to what humans are. They're maggots who cling to every bit of nourshment and flesh trying to preserve their kind. As if I couldn't just snap my fingers and have them all pile up.
If that didn't make me barf, there's even more to discuss on, but I digress. I don't know what Uraume was trying to do, but of course I wasn't going to let that menial woman slide with that snarky mouth of hers. With a quick snap, I crossed my legs from the comfort of my bone adorned throne and twisted my fingers.
'Snap'
In a quick fraction of a second, she twitched and writhed under the influence of my cursed energy. The once sarcastic mouth turning paler by the second, and then another, and another... I missed just using my powers for fruitful things like this one. She whined and whined, the black robe and sandals dangled in the air, flailing around in a desperate attempt to fall down. The chuckle and contemptible mocks I hurled at her only proved to satisfy me more than this measly body I'm currently residing in. I let go of my fingers and leaned against the arm rest of my throne, thinking back on that day.
--flashback--
Kenjaku and Uraume were bickering on what 'D-day' was supposed to go all the while I devoured upon some delicious russian on a skewer. The domain expansion Uraume held for us presented the Shirahama coast to ourselves. She had pressed for a meeting, apparently to discuss on finally incarnating my body somewhere reliable.
"I've found a vessel for you, Master." Uraume announced, putting her hands together under her long sleeves.
"You have?" I've been uninterested in vessels lately, it's been nothing but substandard bodies that cannot stand a few punches and broken soul pacts.
"This one seems like it will last you for more than a year if you're tame with its body." I scoffed to her flat tone, though her serious countenance let on a hint of hope and excitement.
"It's not worth it then, what use can a body be to me if I can't use it how I want to?"
"I understand Master, but, I would like to remind you that we are trying to ambush the sorcerers. So discretion and prudence are a must for this."
"You think I don't know that? Continue. About this body."
"I've targeted a young male, around 25 years old, he's a recently graduated researcher at the Tokyo Jujutsu Tech and has great credibility with other curse users. We can gather a lot of intel--"
"Skip the trivial details Uraume, get to the point." I leaned back on the beach chair and waved off to her, disregarding any useless information.
"He has borrowed four of your fingers from the Tech's library, promising to study the seals and whatnot. He seems to be a compatible fit for our purposes. Coming from a line of monks and priestesses, he may endure around ten fingers at most."
"Ten huh?... Will he be able to take on more as time progresses?" My brow cocked to the side, and as I rubbed my chin, I turned to her.
"I think that will be for you to decide, Master. His lineage is pure and every information on him is promising, one might be even able to deduce that he has a slight tinge of cursed blood."
I can still recall the shit eating grin that was plastered onto my face, I had finally reached the jackpot out of many maggot looking duds. Of course, with inferior species nearby, it could only last but a second of my apparition in the domain.
"Elated news, partner! Congrats, now we're one of the same." Kenjaku exulted.
I dimmed out his words from my conscience and tuned out to my own, a simple wave of acknowledgment to shut him up being sent.
"Is it settled then? Has he ingested any fingers?" "I'm afraid not, but if at your command, I'll make sure he ingests one tonight."
"Bring it on."
-- Present April 1?th 2016
Those were the words I uttered to Uraume the day I got into this body, the one that got me into your arms at the buzz of a simple 'Hello!'.
Y/n, you have a way with words don't you?
On the topic of Uraume, I'm one to lie, but when I say that servant makes a mean meal, it's because she does. My once peaceful lunch just had to be interrupted by those two's bitching when a shard of icecicle had to shoot right next to the stack of bones I was leaving behind. God, the glare I shot them, true definition of if looks could kill. My brows furrowed as my fingers twisted and slammed down to the ground. The two froze in place, a drop of cold sweat dripping down their heads. I glared at them and without more trouble, my fingers relaxed, falling to my side.
"Permission to speak lord." Uraume muttered
"Granted"
"I wanted to survey how the body is adjusting to your grand presence, have you encountered any problems yet?"
"Other than the humans calling me Ryosuke? I want to have them all beheaded."
"That would prove unwise lord." Her head bowed and her busy hands proved tired as I kept talking.
"Tell me something I do not know." I sighed and dropped my arms to the side.
"I am sorry to not be of help, could I take samples and examine your body sir?" Her hands held a syringe and a vial, and in her arms dangled a measuring tape which I quickly examined before grunting an answer.
"Granted."
Snap
I exited out of the domain, finding myself in a laboratory Uraume had secured for me. The white walls were coated with ancient scriptures and fun decorations. A few bones here and there just to my liking, as I kept admiring the room, Uraume examined my new body's blood with the same syring and vial.
"What are you looking for inside my blood really?"
"Signs of stress, rejection and of course any foreign cursed techniques, this is a jujutsu researcher after all, it would be surprising htere is no kind of trick here."
"Right you are U-" I bit my mouth as the syringe touched my vein, a feeling so clear that had even me straightening my back in a kind of fear.
"Sorry, I should have warned, that's leaving a bruise sometime in the day."
I shot her a bloodshot (no pun intended) look as she clinks the vial with her long nails, the clicking sound makking my face twitch.
"The results will be in a week, so busy yourself acting normal to your new peers and do not exert the body in any way." Uruame's monotone half commanded as she inserted the vial into a centrifuge.
I rubbed the inside of my arm tenderly as I walked out of the room, with little effort, my technique transported me back to Ryosuke's home.
I should start asimilating myself more with that name if I want to keep the body safe for now...
The air today was dense, I could tell a storm was about to cross paths with me as I crossed the street. The pungent city air was an offense to my ancient nose, how can anyone live in this place?
I slam the door open, the floor behind me dripping wet from the storm, the walk from home to the tech was pretty long. No wonder this Ryosuke's guy house is so broke, still as soon as I came in your head shot towards me.
"Good afternoon Ryo!" a chirp accompanied by your feathery voice. How is it that you maintain that in a place like this?
"Afternoon." I mumbled back as i shook off whatever droplets that still clinged to me. A slight palpitating vein on my forhead reminded me of my role today, to be human.
"How was your day? Any luck out there with information?" your tone soothed his annoyance as he relaxed his shoulders and looked at you directly.
"Tired...." I took a minute for a brief pause before trying to understand what you meant. "On what?" On instinct, his brow jumped up as he spoke.
"We all are, whenever students are on break, principal gives the heaviest loads of work doesn't he?" you took a candy from a little tray and unwrapped it with skill, and in a swift move, into your mouth it went. "On finding what the bindings of the fingers meant" you mumbled with your mouth full.
I shot a small nod of acknowledgment as I answer "Not really, there is no easy way to translate those to modern language. I feel like lighting it all on fire now that I think about it." I huffed in fake annoyance as I walked towards you, a slight pull against your mouth revealed a chuckle.
That chuckle, you let out a chuckle as soon as I spoke that, god I could never forget my exact words today, you just happened to smile. What is it about me that is so amusing to you? I don't know what I am supposed to say, so I thought that being a normal human I could just take the chance.
"Positive as ever Ryo, on the good side-" You hinted, that is before I interrupted. What good side is she even talking about?
"There is no good side." I interrupted as I stitch my brows together holding a staring contest with her.
"Shut up, let me speak" You chuckled with an eye roll. "We're going out for drinks, celebrating surviving your first few weeks here, basically that you're alive and no curse has tried to kill you yet!"
It seemed almost moronic, to asume that I would let myself be defeated by some mere stupid curse. I rubbed my temples carefuly before decidding on what to answer. As you typed away on the computer, as the smoking doctor's secretary, I noticed the slight rash on your hand.
"Hasn't the school doctor checked that rash?"
"Don't concern yourself over this, instead tell me so I can call it off with the staff here. They all think you're very promising and kind researcher, all the others have been asses really." You blew away a stray hair as you kept on typing, barely looking at me anymore. That stupid lingering smile of yours. God can someone be as hard to read as you? What are you even thinking?
"Shoko has been pretty busy with the resurgence of a phenomenon where people start growing plants out of their bodies, pretty weird if you ask me." You added as the swift little fingers kept on moving from one key to the other.
Without warning my sight turned hazy and soon everything spun. I held my temples and tried facing you as best as I could.
"I zoned out, sorry, I can't believe the plant thing though-" i sighed and looked down, feeling like my whole body was shutting down. "I... Does Shoko have any pills for migraines?" Soon my equilibrium was turning like gelatin, feeling the whole rigidness of my body turn water in a matter of seconds.
"Ryosuke?" you called out but soon enough I felt my body crash down, I had never experienced this before.
--------
"25-year-old male, Ryosuke Ijichi—septicemia! He’s fainted in the ambulance. He’s febrile, tachypneic, and unresponsive!"
That's all I heard as I felt myslef being hauled from room to room, a bunch of Jujutsu medics swarming over me like some kind of anomaly. My eyes were stitched shut and movement was impossible.
"Temp’s at 39.7°C, respiratory rate 28 per minute—he’s in respiratory distress."
I tried moving and even swinging at one of the doctors as every possible hand was on me. My arm was burning and I could feel some kind of bump on the spot where Uraume had taken blood from.
"Get a liter of saline in—fast. We need to draw blood cultures, CBC, and get a lactate level ASAP. Start him on vancomycin and meropenem for broad-spectrum coverage."
All these doctors were talking over me, and I swear I could not comprehend for the thousand years of my life a single thing. An oxygen mask was placed over my mouth and soon enough I could feel myself doze off again.
"Heart rate 140, blood pressure’s tanking—85 over 50! He’s hypotensive and febrile!"
As I was dragged to a final room, I could feel two strong presences between me. A soft warm hand placed against my forehead and a strong hand that covered my throat.
"This is not your body is it?"
2k words.
~~~~~ A/N
Yoohoo! Heya there, I hope you enjoyed it after a long time of not hearing from this story. Sorry about it. Really. Plus thank chat gpt and my friend for the awesome medical terms and dialogue because I have close to 0 idea to what CBC or febrile is. Sorry that this wasn't really centered around romance, I tried setting the setting as best as I could I swear the next chapter is about fluff and comfort!!
As a preview and motivation to like yn is much better introduced in the next page and we get tension!
Thanks for getting me to accidentally participating in NaNoWriMo, ya hecks.
If you started following me for this fic, I hope you stick around. I do some other pretty neat stuff, writing included.
So, without further ado, here we go. Enjoy, y'all.
*psssst*
Hey!
There's also art under the cut!
Word Count: 3,300
Scarab carefully watched Prismo's face flip through... several colorful emotions.
Confusion, shock, befuddlement, all within a beat of very loud silence.
"...Wh-What...?"
Scarab tried to stand up a little straighter. He could do this. He had to do this.
"I asked... What would you wish for?"
"...Like, hypothetically?"
Scarab huffed, gracefully resisting the urge to facepalm. Glob, his love was a bit dense sometimes, wasn't he? "Prismo... I want to grant you a wish."
That just seemed to further baffle the Wishmaster, looking at Scarab like he'd grown a second head.
"But... what? Scarab, you know you can't grant my wish, right?"
Now it was Scarab's turn to look confused. He tilted his head at Prismo. "And why not?"
"Well... Wishmasters don't get wishes? Like, I can't just grant my own wish, I thought that was kind of obvious."
Scarab chirped, considering. "Well, sure, you cannot grant your own wishes. But... well, I'm not you, am I? There has never been two Wishmasters before."
Prismo blinked dumbly at him, like Scarab might as well be talking gibberish.
"Scrabby, Lovebug, I get what you're trying to do but... I don't think that's how this works...? I don't get to... y'know want things? I grant wishes for others!"
He laughed nervously, looking at almost anything in the Time Room other than Scarab. Until the beetle took his hand into his talons, giving his hand a tender squeeze.
"Prismo... You know you're allowed to want things, yes? I though you were finally... realizing that." Scarab gestured around the Time Room.
Prismo made an uncomfortable noise, looking at the floor.
"Not really...? Well, I mean, it's different. It's... It's one thing to, like, decorate the Time Room. It's simple. It doesn't... I dunno, rewrite reality. Me wishing for something could... could...."
"Could what?"
"I don't know Scarab! Break the multiverse?!"
"Prismo. You exist outside of time. Outside of most of reality itself. It's true, we don't know what might happen if you wish for something... But..."
Scarab made his way up Prismo's arm, onto his shoulder, to nuzzle his face sweetly.
"...You have done... so much for me, Prismo. You've done everything. My life, my eternity, is infinitely better with you in it. So... I'd be honored to do this for you. Let me have the honor of being the one to grant you your wish."
Prismo sputtered for a second, Scarab could see his brain stalling for a moment.
"I-I dunno, Scarab... It could just... not work. I wouldn't want your first granted wish to be a dud. And... what if this wish... takes us away from each other...?"
"If it does, then..." Scarab hesitated. "Then... I'm am thankful for being at least a part of your eternity. I would be happy, knowing I gave you something no one else could."
Prismo sniffled, shaking his head. He let his head fall into Scarab's side as he thought.
"...I..."
Prismo started and stopped a few times, trying to find the words. Scarab lets his talons run through the Wishmaster's curly hair.
"...Can I... think about it?"
"Of course, love. Take all the time you need."
Prismo gave his side a kiss, Scarab relishing in the close contact. He knew his Wishmaster had... quite a bit to think about. And that was okay.
It was a big shift for Prismo, him wanting things.
The two returned to a comfortable routine, thankfully in an unusual doldrum of Wish Makers. Prismo spent a lot of time staring at a blank lap top screen, thinking quite loudly.
Scarab made no attempt to ask again. He knew Prismo. He'd come forward when he was ready. If he was ever ready.
"...Scarab...?"
Prismo broke the silence one day, hesitant and unsure.
"Yes love?"
"...I think... I think there's one thing I could wish for..."
"Oh?"
Scarab put the book he was reading down, giving the Wishmaster his full attention.
"It's just... I like my life. A lot. I don't want what pretty much everyone who comes here would wish you. More responsibility would give me headache. I don't want money or wealth. I have you, and the life we built here, and that's perfect for me. But..."
"But...?"
"I've just been thinking... What happens when your... tenure here is over? We don't know when or if the Organizer might pull you back as an Auditor, and... well... I... I don't think I could stand it if I couldn't... If I couldn't be with you. But, I'm here, on the wall, except for extremely specific circumstances. It's never... bothered me before. But... Well, I wouldn't be able to hug you. Or kiss you. Or even just touch you."
Scarab listened, intensely.
He'd admit it, he didn't consider what would happen if he was ever called back. If he was ever made Auditor again, even if it was only part of the time, what would happen to his contact with Prismo...?
"So... I think I've got my wish, Scarab."
Scarab nodded, standing up, ready to listen. "Go ahead, love."
Prismo closed his eyes, taking a deep breath, steadying himself. Scarab could only imagine how strange it must've been to be on this side of the transaction for the Wishmaster.
Prismo mouthed something to himself, possibly double checking his wording. Now or never.
"I wish... I wish for those who hold the title of Wishmaster, as granted by the Dreamer... to have the ability to choose the form they take while in the Time Room."
Scarab felt the magic wash over him. It felt like it his body was emptied and refilled with something wild, chaotic. His thoughts raced, trying to fill in the gaps, just like how Prismo said. He looked at his partner, bracing himself, taking a breath.
"...Wish granted."
At first, nothing happened. A few beats passed, and nothing happened.
At least the multiverse didn't instantly delete itself!
Prismo blinked, looking at his hands, hesitant.
And then he reached forward.
The two sat in stunned silence as... a hand emerged from the wall.
Neither breathed for a long moment.
Prismo experimentally flexed... his hand. That was his hand. The fingers twitched as he turned it in all directions. It looked almost like it was made of gas, something fluid and constantly moving. It shimmered a deep, rosy pink, flecks of sparkling stars scattered across the knuckles.
The Wishmaster pushed further. A hand, then an arm, then a shoulder. A gradient from rose to his signature light pin, the flecks of stars traveling up the arm like freckles.
"S-Scarab...?"
"It's okay, love. Come on out."
Prismo took a deep breath, closing his eyes tight before stepping out.
Scarab felt his breath hitch. Oh dear Glob... Prismo was beautiful. So, so beautiful. His skin swirled and shimmered like a pool of water, looking far more ethereal than the beetle was expecting. Sitting in his chest was a glowing star, it's gravity holding the body together. Two shooting stars orbited around his chest, one a bright gold, the other a deep blackish-purple.
He was still mostly human shaped but... there was still something surreal about him. Alien. Otherworldly.
Prismo shook his head, seemingly getting used to the sensations of his own body.
"S... Scarab...?"
"Oh, my love... How do you manage to look more gorgeous every form you take?"
Prismo gave him a shaky smile, standing on shaky, uncertain legs. He looked at himself, really looked at himself, in wonder.
And then let out an undignified squeak at the realization that he was nude. He dove into the blanket pile, emerging with a pout as Scarab had himself a hearty laugh.
"Oh ha-ha, yeah, laugh it up." The pout wasn't serious, Prismo seemed far too enthralled with the prospect of his new dimension.
"Scarab! Scarab, come join me!"
"Me?"
"Yeah! I did say "anyone with the title of Wishmaster" didn't I? That's you too!"
Scarab seemed to only just register that that now applied to him. He made an excited chittering sound, hesitantly emerging from the wall. He felt odd, like he was on the verge of floating away, yet distinctly there. He was the same pale blue as his projection, but otherwise resembled his physical body pretty closely, just with the same swirling cloud appearance to his shell.
Scarab eagerly dove in to join the blanket pile, holding Prismo close, nuzzling and kissing him sweetly, lovingly.
"This is wild, man... Like... I'm sitting. Sitting in the Time Room."
"Right... quick point about that..."
Prismo cocked his head as Scarab climbed up to the entrance to the Time Roon and tried to stick his arm out. The gas that seemed to compose their bodies dissipated and faded up until his elbow.
"These forms extend only within the confines of the Time Room."
Prismo thought for a moment, but nodded. That was fine. He could requisition a body if he ever needed to leave the Time Room.
"Lovebug. Thank you... Thank you so much."
Scarab smiled, quick to rejoin his beautiful Wishmaster.
The two fell into a new routine soon after. Prismo found out pretty quickly he could dive in and out of the wall as he wished, change sizes, and float around the Time Room. He took a delightful amount of glee in dressing himself, finding himself a collection of loose robes, ones that hung off his shoulders lazily. Scarab was honestly a little surprised at the how conservative Prismo decided to approach jewelry. Unlike his usual routine of making himself sparkle like a treasure chest, he opted instead for simple earrings, a necklace, and arm bands.
He looked like something truly divine. Something awe inspiring.
And Scarab, of course, took to making some new additions to the Time Room. Specifically, a designated seating area, a luxurious spread of couches with pillows and blankets.
And boy were the looks they got from Cos and Death something else.
The Organizer seemed to pause for the first time in the eons Scarab knew her.
"...Hey Scarab?"
The beetle chirped, cracking an eye open to look at the Wishmaster. They were piled onto the couch, Scarab lounging on Prismo's chest, content.
"Yes, love?"
Prismo adjusted the hold he had on Scarab, nuzzling his neck. "I was wondering something."
"That's often worrying."
"Hey" Prismo scolded, unserious.
"Fine, fine. Carry on."
"...What would you wish for?"
Scarab froze for a second, thinking. It's not like he hadn't thought about it before. He's thought about it for centuries. Obsessed over it, even.
But that was before he would ever go to Prismo for help.
And... when he did finally understand that Prismo was someone he could trust... he shoved that wish down into his gut. He would never want Prismo to think he only got close for a wish...
"...I've thought about it before..."
"Really? How come you never made a wish then?"
Scarab made an uncomfortable chirping sound. He head swirled. He... he felt pathetic for feeling this way, but... he didn't feel he deserved it.
Not after this long...
"...It's... complicated."
Prismo hummed, rubbing Scarab's back softly. "...Would you want to make a wish?"
"...I don't know. I..."
Scarab sat up, sighing softly. Prismo followed him up, cupping his cheek reassuringly.
"...For... for the longest time, I had... convinced myself I didn't deserve it..."
"...Deserve what, Lovebug?"
Scarab nuzzled into Prismo's hand as he sighed.
"...My wings and antenna."
Prismo nodded in solum understanding.
"I... I spent so long convincing myself that I deserved what happened to me. That... I broke the rules, so it was the natural and deserved outcome. I used... so much reasoning to try and make it stick. That... that it was better that that had happened, since no one liked bugs. So, the less I looked like a bug, the better... I told myself if I couldn't remember the homeland, who was I to demand my heritage back. I told myself it made me stronger..."
Scarab blinked a few times, willing away the tears.
"But... Glob, Prismo, you've been tearing it all down. You made me realize how... terrible what happened to me was. You like my... less conventional features. You made me remember my home more in the past year than in the last hundred thousand. But..."
"But?"
"But... I don't want to... erase what happened. As much as I hate it, it shaped me into the person I am now. And that's the person who loves you, who has this life. If I knew this was waiting for me at the end, I'd do it all over again."
Prismo nodded, pulling Scarab into a soft hug. "...Regardless of the decision you make... If you want to make a wish, I would be honored to grant it for you."
Prismo kissed his neck, making Scarab chirp happily. He purred for a long time, taking the moment to think. To process.
"Prismo."
Scarab sat up, looking the Wishmaster in the eye.
"I wish... without altering my history, and without depriving anyone else of their body or body parts... to restore my wings and antenna in a way I can control, dismiss, and alter."
Prismo seemed to take a moment to think. Then he smiled.
"Wish granted."
Scarab felt his back tingle. His head itch. The torn ends of his wings felt... ticklish almost. The beetle took a moment to examine the feeling, taking a few steps back from Prismo to kneel.
"Go for it, Scarab. You can do it."
Scarab still hesitated. He'd never felt more scared to open his elytra, not ever since his wings were taken from him.
"You deserve it, Lovebug."
Scarab took a deep breath and let his shell open.
He felt something whoosh across his back. He kept his eyes frozen to the ground. There was something... strange on his back, a strange... heavy weightlessness? He didn't even know if that made sense, but that was the best way the could describe it.
"Lovebug... Look."
Prismo sounded in awe. That probably a good sign, yes?
He turned his head, slowly.
And he felt breathless.
He could see where his real wings ended and these new ones began. They were detached almost, floating an inch or two off the tattered ends. He gave them an experimental flap, chittering in delight as the motion flowed nearly seamlessly.
They looked gorgeous. They weren't his wings, but that was okay with him. They reminded him a bit of the false wings he made for the Gala, with the hand and eye patterns, now with the addition of star motifs.
He took a moment to experiment. He could summon and dismiss them. His fingers could trace the edges, but phase through the membranes.
He took a long look at Prismo before bursting into happy sobs. The Wishmaster was quick to scoop him up and hold him close, running a gentle hand between the base of his wings.
"P-Prismo..."
"I know Lovebug. I know. They're so gorgeous. You're so gorgeous. I'm... sorry they're not attached, or that they don't look like yours but... I dunno, think of them like prosthetics."
"They're perfect, Prismo. You're perfect. Wait, hold on, I need to try something..."
Scarab followed the tingling itch on his head, feeling a ghostly pair of antenna uncurling over his head. Again, they didn't quite feel right, that same heavy weightlessness, but that didn't matter. What mattered was the smack in the face the smells of the Time Room hit him with. The perfume of the flowers, the vinegar of pickle brine, and...
Oh.
Oh.
That was Prismo's smell. Scarab dove his face right into Prismo's cheek, nuzzling, antenna finally able to card through his hair and touch his skin. And he could smell him, he could smell Prismo, a combination of spice and ozone, and he could smell himself all over the Wishmaster's skin.
There was something intoxicating about that, something that made Scarab not pick his head up again for quite a while. Prismo held him all the way through it, humming and rubbing.
"Prismo...?"
"Yeah, Lovebug?"
"...Thank you. For everything."
Prismo hugged him tightly.
"You can thank me" he started, kissing his neck and jaw sweetly, "by being mine. For the next eternity."
Scarab's face flushed blue, but he nodded eagerly.
"Yes. Yes, I am yours. You are mine. For the next eternity, my love."
Prismo nodded back. "For the next eternity."
-------------------------
They speak in legends, in tomes, in myths, of the Wishmasters.
At the beginning of it all, in the Age After Nothing, there emerged the one called the Wishmaster.
In the center of everything, in the center of nothing, there is the Time Room, domain of the Wishmasters.
In a place at the center of time, in a place where time cannot touch, there is the one called the Wishmaster.
It is a god of no equal. It is a god of many names, in many forms. But it is always the one called the Wishmaster.
And in this era, the one called Wishmaster is of two beings.
How one meets the Wishmasters may very. It takes something powerful, something capable of building a bridge into the void. But all require a piece of the Eternal Dream, for it is the Dream that is the threads of the Void. Objects with fragments of the Dream are the most reliable vector to crossing into the Void.
It is two beings one might be greeted with.
The Living Dream known as Prismo, and his protector The Star Auditor known as Scarab.
Prismo is always there. He is aloof, but a comfortable being. He is a creature of comfort, lounging in a self made sanctuary of pillows and blankets, surrounded by perfumes of the Dream Lilies hanging from above. Leaving him gifts of crystals and jewelry may earn you his favor, although even then, that is not given liberally.
The Time Room is his Domain. He can freely move between and from the walls, for the walls are at his command.
Scarab is a feature only on occasion. One should rejoice if they commune with the two Great Wishmasters. He is orderly, precise. One might think this sparks conflict between the two, but instead it brings harmony. He is a god of intimidating disposition, but reasonable if approached without fear. He is even less liberal with favor than the Almighty Prismo, but offerings of fruits and rare teas may give you a chance.
The Scarab and Prismo are protective of each other. When approaching, do not offend either. Do not disparage the other. They are a pair, equal in all things.
The Almighty Prismo and Scarab, the ones called Wishmasters, offer the same bargain to any who find his domain, his domain of the Time Room.
One wish, anything your heart desires, you may ask of him. And he will make it so.
But do beware, wish makers.
Realities may warp or split or merge, people and objects may shuffle through time and space, memories, lifetimes, erased or rewritten forever. But they will make it so.
For the Almighty Prismo is not cruel, he is a tricky one. For the Almighty Scarab is not deceptive, he is percise.
Any wish lacking detail, they will fill the gaps. And lapse in thinking, and forgotten factor, and unforeseen consequence, they shall consider. To those they favor, they may advise. To those they don't?
Well, you will receive what you wish for.
Whether or not you can live with that is not a trouble for the Almighty Prismo and Scarab.
They are the crossroads, the boundary, the space between it all.
If one is lucky, they might hear the song of the Wishmasters. One might bare witness to the great wings of the Almighty Scarab, as they two circle each other in a cosmic dance. Do not disturb them if you find this majesty. Consider yourself blessed, and listen to the strange song of the divine.
For this is the nature of the Wishmasters.
Mismatched, yet incomplete without each other.
Together for eternity.
Thus is the myth of the Wishmasters.
Mikey grinned at you, excitement in his words as he rattled off his plan, barely able to keep his heels on the ground as he bounced back and forth. You listen intently, smiling fondly at the exuberant turtle. While his idea on how to break into the movies sounded exciting, it was barely practical and probably one of the most illegal ideas he’s had in a while. Unless you were able to magically know everything about stealth and ninja training, you were sure to get caught. Despite the glaring problems with the plan, you wait for him to finish his spiel, his eyes bright and eager about his scheme.
“What do you think?” He breathes out, barely able to stay even relatively still. He was bouncing from heel to heel, wanting nothing more than for you to agree and get the plan started. You stay quiet for a moment, trying to think on how to best break it to him. His plan was dangerous, and there was no way you'd be able to go through with it without something bad happening to either of you. As much as you hated to admit it, it was a dud, plain and simple.
"Well," You start, wincing as he leans forwards to hear your thoughts. You shift uncomfortably, knowing how much it sucked to be told your ideas weren't viable, but going with his plan was a surefire way to getting you arrested and forced to spend the night in the slammer. "I'm not sure we could make it work, Mikey."
Mikey deflates at your statement, pouting heavily as he sits down on his hammock. You shift on your chair, feeling bad for shutting him down, but knowing it was for the best. You get up to pull him into a hug, hoping to make him feel at least the smallest bit better. "You know, it's not a bad plan, just one that would work better if we were hunting villains rather than trying to sneak into a theater."
He groans and buries his face into your shoulder, understanding your point but not wanting to accept it.Even he could see his methods weren't the best for this kind of 'mission', but it still wasn't any fun being told no.
"What else can we do though? I really want to see this movie, it’s the first showing of Jupiter Jim Defends the Moon since it was first released. I want to see it on the big screen." You sigh, understanding his frustration. It sucked not being able to go out and do things normally, and you really did feel bad for shutting down his idea—even if it *was* dangerous. Mikey leans further onto you, causing your knees to buckle under the sudden weight. "It's not like we can hide in the rafters for it either like we do for wrestling or basketball."
Mikey's grumbled words give you pause, an idea slowly coming to fruition in your mind.
"Hey Mikey?" You ask, shifting his weight slightly so you could stand better. "What's JJ defending the moon from?"
“Martians.” He responds glumly, mourning the fact he won’t get to see it.
You smile at his response, moving him off your shoulder so you could look him in the eyes. “And what do you guys always claim to be when caught?”
Mikey’s eyes widened with hope, a delighted squeal sounding from his chest. "Ohmigosh, you're a genius! If I hide my shell,  I'll look just like the Martians in the movie!"
You laugh along with Mikey, his feet hitting the floor once more as he starts jumping up and down with you in his arms. "Thank you's" quickly began to spill from his lips like a water  spout, his bright smile returning to his face again. Mikey finally drops you after a while, now gently shaking you by your shoulders.
"Can we go now?" He asks, too eager to wait another moment now that you have a more feasible plan of action. You roll your eyes fondly, stepping out of his arms so he couldn't shake you anymore. You take out your phone and start to browse the times and tickets for the movie, Mikey hovering over your shoulder all the while. You find a showing within the next forty-five minutes and book two seats as far back as you can, looking proudly at your terrapin friend.
“Go grab your hoodie, then we can.”
Without another word, Mikey scrambles to his drawers and roots around for the orange hoodie, throwing it on before taking you by the wrist and dragging you off. He yells a quick, intelligible goodbye to his brothers, not wanting to waste a moment. It takes you both around thirty minutes to get to the theater and buy the snacks you wanted, eagerly talking about the movie you were just moments from seeing. Mikey gets complimented on his ‘costume’, other Jupiter Jim fans finding it delightful. He looks so happy as you settle into the theater and find your seats, greatly please with the popcorn shared between you.
“Thank you.” He whispers again as the movie starts, his eyes bright and glued to the screen. You merely grin, sinking into your own seat and squeezing his hand in response. For Mikey, you’d rent out the whole theater if you had to.
Mess Ups
Leander Prewett x Reader
Summary: Reader works up the courage to ask Leander Prewett out after 2 years of liking him.
Word Count: 978
Warnings: None
*NOT PROOFREAD
Authors Note: this is my first fic! Please enjoy
You had been going to Hogwarts for only 2 years, and a lot has certainly happened. But the most confusing thing of them all had to be the boy you found yourself in love with.
Leander Prewett. A tall, freckled, red-headed boy in Gryffindor. He was the prefect, and had a tendency to brag. The catch was that he messed up quite a lot. You found it quite endearing.
Your first time seeing him had been in DADA where he and Sebastian Sallow had started dueling. Leander had almost gotten a giant skull dropped on him. If not for Professor Hecat. Your first official meeting however, was in Herbology where he had volunteered to show you the chinese chomping cabbages.
He walked behind you, letting you lead the way as he complimented your dueling against Sebastian in DADA.
“That was quite the duel. It’s nice that somebody finally put Sallow in his place. I would’ve done it myself if not for Professor Hecat.” At his compliment you felt your cheeks flush.
“Thank you Leander. It was actually my first time dueling.” You replied, unable to look him in the eye.
“That’s quite impressive. I hope to see more of your dueling feats.” He said, unaware of the way your heart seemed to leap out of your chest.
That day changed many things for you. As you found yourself catching feelings and constantly seeking out Leander. You thought he was charming. You thought he was charming. His smile, his laugh. You especially loved how even if he failed he still tried again.
Your friends did not share this sentiment.
“Prewett? Really?” Asked Natty in disbelief.
Imelda nodded her head. “I have to agree with Natty. He’s a bumbling idiot, and a fool. He probably puts his shoes on the wrong foot.”
You argued back. “I think he’s dashing. So what if he messes up, don’t you think he’s just adorable?”
They simply looked at you.
You sighed. “He’s very brave. Even though he messes up, even if he’s teased, he still tries. That makes him so very valuable to me.”
You reminisced on a time in your 6th year, when a group of Gryffindors laughed at you for messing up a simple wiggenweld potion.
“What kind of idiot messes that up?” One asked.
“How can the ‘Hero of Hogwarts’ be such a dud?” said another.
You thought it was stupid that it bothered you, it shouldn’t have. You’ve fought trolls and hordes of goblins. You didn’t need the approval of some jealous Gryffindors, and yet you still found yourself crying under a tree afterwards.
Their scrutiny hurt. After all you had done for this school people still didn’t like you. It pained you.
As you sat with your knees against your chest looking at the ground, you felt someone sit next to you. It was Leander. You quickly wiped your tears, embarrassed he had found you in such a state.
“O-Oh Hello Leander.” you said nervously, glancing at him. He looked at you with furrowed brows. “What are you doing here?”
“Garreth told me what happened in potions. Don’t listen to those twats.” He said, looking at the ground in frustration.
“It’s okay. It doesn’t really matter.” You told him. Your heart fluttered at the fact he came to find you.
. “It’s not okay. How could they say that to you?” He turned to look at you. “After everything you’ve done for this school, tf they made fun of you for something as simple as a failed wiggenweld potion then there’s no hope for the rest of us.” he chuckled sadly.
“You’re very sweet.” You told him. Your mind felt lighter at his reassurance.
“I’m jealous of you, you know.” He told you candidly, cracking a cocky grin. “You took everything at Hogwarts like a fish to water. I’ve been using magic my whole life and yet I can never do anything correctly.” He smiled as he said this, but you could see his sadness. “If there’s one thing I learned, It’s that you can’t let people get to you easily.”
He patted your shoulder. “We need to get back to the castle before curfew.”
He stood up, and pulled you to your feet.
You smiled at him. “Thank you for your encouraging words, Leander. For the record, I think you’re a wonderful person.” You saw his face turn fuschia, and you let out a giggle.
Now in your 7th year, you decided you would finally work up the courage to ask him out to Hogsmeade.
It was breakfast, and you made your way over to where Leander sat at the Gryffindor table.
“Hello Leander.” You said, as you nervously fiddled with your fingers. He turned to look at you, face stuffed with toast. You giggled at the sight.
“Yes?” he said, looking at you curiously.
“Well, I-um, I’ve been in love with you since 5th year, and I just was wondering if you wanted to go to Hogsmeade with me later?” You waited a beat.
Leander paused.His face turning fuschia once more. It felt like the entire breakfast hall had gone quiet at this confession.
“You want to go to Hogsmeade…with me?” He asked in disbelief. You nodded your head. He stared at you blankly, unable to comprehend how anybody would want to go out with him. You started to falter. He wasn’t responding, you clearly had embarrassed him. Just as you were going to turn away he finally answered. “Yes!” he answered, a little too enthusiastically. He cleared his throat. “Ah- I mean, of course. I would have to be a fool to say no, and I am no fool.”
You felt elated. “So would 3 o’clock be okay?” You asked happily.
“That would be wonderful.” He said, still bright red.
You gleefully went back to your table, feeling this was the start of something beautiful.
——————————————————————————
I Hope you enjoyed this! It’s a bit short but I think I might do a part 2 where they go to Hogsmeade.
things in that episode
obviously angry fraser is. ohhhh boy. i kept saying hot and it's not not per se, but it's also... not that. it's unsettling. a man wearing the wrong skin, and who seems to know this too and feel unsettled in himself as well. it wasn't so much an "i hope this doesn't awaken something in me" moment as it was... simply wrong. but youknow. glad we got to see a little more of those boots. a million people in-universe sighing in disappointment that this man isn't a top. or a dom. or even that interested most of the time
goes interestingly back to vault of course, the acknowledgement of fraser's "selfish" emotions (that everyone has, that he shoves down down down) coming to the surface, and any person would go "hey buddy it's not unreasonable to feel hatred toward the man who was your dad's best friend, who betrayed him and got him killed, who then tried to get you killed as well, who had no respect for the ideals that you have dedicated everything to..." some anger is to be expected
speaking of wrong, what was ray hoping to achieve by giving fraser carte blanche to murder a man! ray, bby, you know fraser would hate himself if he did that. you know he'd immediately give himself up and plead guilty and throw the book (all the books) at himself forever and ever. i know you mean well, but don't try to entice the man to commit The Crime Of Murder. he almost had a panic attack fake-stealing milk duds in the previous episode!
i do wonder about the way gerrard has shifted a bit in this episode from "guy we know who committed a specific crime (over a number of years) who at the very least tried to get fraser's dad in on it (whether or not he succeeded at least a little bit hovering as an eternal lack of catharsis - one of many in fraser's life), whose crime is geared more towards that casual cruel governmental corruption and lack of care and environmental racism, and who was somewhat cowardly about the death of fraser's dad to the extent that he paid someone else to do it (and where there's so much government scandal involved in the catching that fraser had to be exiled to chicago)" to "guy who has committed many crimes from the sounds of it and was actively working with crime bosses to do smuggling and who is very very callous/real career criminal about it" it's not that they can't mesh, but that i do think pilot!gerrard has more grounding to him/the realism of that story than the gerrard we meet here. a nitpick, but one i may continue to pick at just to make it fit for me
but yeah ofc fraser throwing the knife was hot. too bad neither ray nor meg saw it, they would've 👀👀👀👀👀👀
(also they really gave the both of them some good beatdowns this episode huh. i was gonna say "poor ray" until i remember fraser has now been stabbed and shot twice in the same leg)
(also ofc fraser's ghost!dad is real, but he's really real in this episode huh. but also he appears when fraser is distraught, as he tends to do, which makes you think he's also fraser allowing that little "selfish" part of himself to have a voice, but also that part that beats himself up about not being good enough, but also if that's really fraser's dad.... your old man's kind of sub-par, I've got to be honest. you're better than he ever was bby)
Rewatching bits and pieces of Destiny 1 Year 1 campaign and thoughts occurred during the introduction of the Sovs. Everything looks a bit run down, and the Uldren's armor is a far cry from the fancy duds he had in D2. Do we know if the Dreaming City already existed at this point, or is their anything in the background talking about how this was some kind of deception/bluff to hide the Awoken's capabilities from the Vanguard?
The Dreaming City was made fairly early on, so it existed at the time, just hidden. It was mostly hidden because it's a sort of sacred place to the Awoken, but also because it was Riven's prison as well. The run down vibe of the Reef is definitely a part of the whole secrecy that Mara always projects; it's best if no one knows everything the Awoken have at their disposal, especially as they were coming closer to the confrontation with Oryx.
Also consider that the Reef was the first home of the Awoken as they returned from the Distributary. They made it with what little they had in terms of technology, in an inhospitable and barren place. The vibe definitely reflects that as well, life in near vacuum on asteroids and debris. The construction of a settlement began right away as soon as they got to the Reef, so the place is old:
Mara calls a caucus of elected representatives in the Sacred Fire, one of the largest hulks in the reef of derelicts. The Fire was built to support habitat construction on 4 Vesta, where Mara hopes to one day anchor the entire flotilla and set down roots—but the hopeful, fearful faces before her make Mara afraid that it'll never happen.
The early Awoken settlements are all around or near the asteroid Vesta, with the Vestian Outpost being a sort of a port of entry to the rest of the Awoken space. The Dreaming City must've been constructed on or partially from Vesta, due to the location names; Rheasilvia is a crater on Vesta, and Divalian Mists is named after another feature on the asteroid (irl!)
Here's Mara telling Uldren to go find her something that will help her make a proper city, so that her people can live on something more than just the debris and asteroid space of Vesta (this also hints at the secrecy of it all, as she specified needing a power no one would know about after Uldren suggested that making one city would be a vulnerability):
"Brother," she said, "never again can I allow my people to be divided. We must offer them more than shielding ice and cold habitat cylinders and the warrens of Vesta. We must make a culture, a thread that binds us all in pride and wonder at the mystery of ourselves. Nowhere does culture flourish better than in a city." "Gather in one place," Uldren warned her, "and you make yourself a target." Mara had considered this, and found an answer. "Go forth and find me a power unknown to all the other powers of this world. Return it to me, and I shall make of it the cornerstone of my new city, where the Awoken shall dream of all they have been and all that is yet to come."
He returns with Riven! This is shortly after the Awoken were divided into Reefborn and Earthborn. It's not super clear when this is all happening, but it's relatively early after their return from the Distributary and definitely long before the events of the first game. A sort of rough timeline of events is mentioned here, if it can be trusted:
Later would come Eris Morn, Osiris, Toland, and all the other accessories of the majestic suicide. Later would come the Reef's tentative entanglements with Vex and Cabal, Fallen and Hive, and the fateful decision to intervene when the House of Wolves turned Earthward to conquer the Last Human City. Later, there would be stories here untold, the Ahamkara and the subcreation of the Dreaming City, the shatterstone fury of the Reef Wars, brother Uldren's journeys into that fell garden...
This would put it at some point around or before the Twilight Gap and the Reef Wars. It's definitely been around for a while, but well-hidden to prevent anyone from getting too close to that sacred space, and to hide Riven's existence. Secrecy was a major component of the look of the Vestian Outpost and other Awoken spaces in the Reef, but the look also reflects their age too.
