Okay, maybe I missed it because I'm fairly oblivious to Swiftie news outside of you, but...
Ya'll know the jet guy has been paid off before to stop posting about people right? Mark Cuban paid him off at one point, and he stopped posting about him. He literally does it for money, so people saying he does it for some sort of public service can just fuck right off, because if Cuban paid him off surely others have.
Anyway, yes, absolutely she deserves some criticism for the amount of flights. Carbon offsets are also controversial on whether they do anything.
But jetboy isn't a hero.
Ohh trust me, we are aware. It’s everyone else who conveniently ignores that fact and likes to pretend he’s the patron saint of climate change and evil Taylor Swift is suing a poor, defenseless college kid because she doesn’t want anyone to know she’s single handedly destroying the environment 😤🙄
But today he proved by his own actions that he is actively stalking her so hopefully we won’t have to deal with him for much longer
And just for the record, I have no problem with people criticizing her, I have a problem with people continuing to criticize her based on information that has proven to be false and not actively criticizing any of the other 30+ celebrities who have proven to have worse carbon emissions than Taylor or any corporations for that matter

So here are my thoughts on TWOTQ and ASITE as well as the series in general!
The good:
-ok I LOVED that sera played a big role in the TWOTQ ending. Sera is literally amazing and I’m so excited to read more of her story.
-I love that the two storylines are coming together and it makes me think that maybe the final book won’t necessarily be a poppy book or sera book but rather both together!
-I absolutely enjoyed poppy coming into her powers. I know some people have problems with it but I love that she’s progressing in that way
-looooove that cas was turned on by her fangs 🤣 my horny boy
- ugh just the poppycas reunion in general. We definitely got so many sweet moments.
-I LOVE NYKTOS. Honestly this might be a controversial opinion but I think I like him more than cas? Not in a sense that he’s better in any way but moreso he would be more attractive to me irl because he’s broody and mysterious 😂
-sera/nyktos honestly owns my heart and that last 25% of the book was suuuuuper painful.
-for that reason I loved the ending of TWOTQ because we (hopefully) can assume that everything worked out in the end especially because reaver said that love saved sera.
-the big reveal of sera being the primal of life!!!!! I was screaming. I mean we knew it but didn’t know it for sure. Now I’m super intrigued as to what is going to happen in her book! How does she live, what happens, how does nyktos get past where he’s at now.
-I’m not calling it “good” per say but I didn’t mind the joining scene itself. It made sense why they did it and I didn’t think it was in any way made to be fetishized or superfluous.
-REAVER. NEKTASSSSSSS MY BOYYY. JADIS ISNT DEAD THANK GOD
-sera and nyktos waking up and literally being a power couple tag teaming returning the souls that were lost in battle. I stan
-I want more tawny.
-if Delano would’ve died I would’ve been PISSEd. Thank god they all came back.
The bad:
-sigh
-where do I start with this
-ok so I think in general TWOTQ was kinda badly written. I don’t read FBAA for it’s quality but some things were just SO inconsistent.
-during the joining it had cas describing the sequence of events to poppy and then it didn’t even happen that way. Maybe it was just me being picky but if you take a moment to describe that she will drink from both of them and then them from each other and then from her, don’t you think that’s how it should happen then? But no, it was poppy from cas, Kieran from cas, cas from Kieran, poppy from Kieran, them from poppy. I’m being picky but seriously!
-the sequence where isbeth stabbed malec and then callum was explaining things to millie and poppy. Yikes. All over the place. I had to read it through a few times to just get the gist of what was happening because all that was being written was “she did this” “she did that” while talking about literally 3 different “she’s.” So I was super confused as to who was supposed to be stabbed and who callum was telling that he’d deal with them later and who the harbinger was. Tbh I still don’t know.
-the way Kieran was acting towards poppy some of the time just felt…icky. I didn’t really feel that way at all until they got cas back. I could see everything up until that point as poppy and Kieran being supportive of each other and kind of leaning on each other while they worked to get cas back. I think they needed that and I honestly saw absolutely nothing wrong with it. It was actually kind of sweet.
-that being said, the comparisons of Kieran to “poppy’s husband” were weird. Like these little touches of caressing her cheek and getting her hair out of her eyes just really fell flat because they were happening in tandem with cas doing these things too. If I can’t differentiate between what her husband is doing and what her…idek what to call him at this point…is doing, I just think that’s a little weird. Def made me kinda uncomfortable. And that is me saying this, who was a “oh I’ll wait and read it for myself, people are probably overreacting to this” type of gal.
-I hated having cas’ POV. Like hated it. I don’t think it added anything to the story and even though I would’ve been sad to not have seen him till halfway through the book, I think it would’ve added more tension if we only had poppy’s POV up until she saw cas again. I think that’s why a lot of people are saying that he’s stagnant in this book. I don’t necessarily think it’s the case, it’s just that were not used to getting his POV and yet whenever we did get his POV in this book, it was never anything of substance. Like all of his thoughts were only of fucking poppy. Like ok we get it! I think JLA was trying to go for sweet but imo it fell a little flat.
The confusing:
-poppycas/Kieran dynamic. Like wtf is going on. On one hand I want to say that ok poppycas are heartmates and I would pin kierans relationship with both of them as an almost soulmate like relationship without the romance. Yet then shit like the cheek caressing and rubbing her back and taking her hair out of her face happened and I just have no idea tbh. Why compare kieran to her husband? To show hes protective? Do it a different way. Every caress cas gave poppy had to be followed by one from Kieran and I did. Not. Like. That. It just felt super weird and uncomfortable to me. Why did Kieran sneak into the tent to sleep with them? Again, just strange.
-do I think it was JLAs intention to make this a throuple? No. I don’t. I think the intention was to show a strong bond between all three of them but what came across was the makings of a three person relationship. Poppy said a few times that her feelings for cas are different from Kieran and I appreciated that but am still confused because I feel like what’s being said and what’s being shown are two different things.
-I found a few scenes between poppy and Kieran to actually be sweet in a “I will always look out for you” type of way. So just to have that kind of stark change from simple comfort to a few different times showing that Kieran is turned on/interested in her in a deeper way was confusing. Im confused
-I’m not necessarily anti joining and I thought that part was tastefully done but I definitely am anti throuple relationship. I just think if that was going to be a thing (which, again, I don’t think it is) she shouldn’t have spent so much time building up the concept of a heartmate.
-so long story short, I think poppycas shippers need not worry because I truly think it was poor word choice and writing style on JLAs part. No disrespect to her but I definitely hope she clears some things up. she has woven this incredible world and I’m so excited to see where it goes. It sucks that I’m super confused over multiple things right now but overall I really did enjoy the book!
Where I think it’s going:
-oh man ok. Idk where to start because there’s so much going on!
-for ASITE: I don’t think we’ll get an immediate love confession from nyktos. That’s not the style. We have to suffer a bit before that 😂. But I think we’ll get sera kinda being…hopeless? Like she doesn’t think she’s going to live and maybe she starts trying to look for ways to transfer that ember of life to nyktos or someone else. I’m not sure that giving up is sera’s style BUT when nyktos told her time and time again that he could never love her, what else is she to do?
-speaking of that relationship, I think they both already do love each other but are too dense to admit it 😂
-I think that sera is going to be saved through some type of sacrifice on nyktos’ part. Hence the “primal who loves you.” What better way to prove you love someone than by giving up power or sacrificing yourself….just sayin. (Obviously we know hes fine so I’m not worried.)
-for FBAA all I’m really hoping for is poppy getting to meet sera and having a talk with her. I think it’d be sweet to see them both bond over shared experiences and I love that maybe sera could be a mother figure to poppy.
So yeah. I think that’s all of my thoughts rn so come and rant to me in my inbox or messages! Please! I’m dying to talk about it with someone!

I don’t write meta often so this turned out longer than expected(4 paragraphs) because head so full of thoughts, but here are my thoughts(no neg, just thoughts) about the latest lore talk.
I feel I should also preface this with I’m a theatre major, so my character/story analysis is done using the way I was taught which means I have a bias towards taking what a writer has given and working within their parameters instead of trying to change the way they write their story(which I know makes me different in this fandom so I wanted to my pov out in case it helps you understand where I’m coming from better)
First off, my favorite thing in the dsmp is that there is literally no clear good or bad guys(with a few exempt cases in which cc’s have made it clear) BECAUSE the story is based on which POV you’re watching. We get to see how everyone is their own protagonist and how they justify every action they take and each of their personal pain. We can then turn around and see the full extent of each characters’ actions within other character’s pov’s and how it effects them. You don’t get this in regular media and it’s my personal pull to the mcyt rp format and it also effects how I interpret the story and each character.
The biggest complaint I see is that “it’s so unfair how [insert char(no it’s just techno we know it’s techno)] never learns from his actions or deals with consequences!!” in my mind that’s what makes the writing interesting. It is a massive subvert of underdog trope expectations.(very personal opinion). Also in a way, he does have repercussions(the butcher army, being one) for his actions, they just don’t play out in a “normal” plot way because it’s rp with multiple protags(and also again subverting the underdog). “but he never faces any justice!” I won’t debate that because morality and justice is a subjective thing(and I wasn’t in the fandom yet when the festival and stuff was happening live) but where I stand now, is that at our current point in the lore there CANT BE justice anymore. The plot has reached Once Upon A Time levels of revenge plots one after another. There is no justice, only revenge at this point (literally didn’t you here c!quackity and c!charlie have that talk?? riveting. I adore both of them so much)
But this is why I’m so excited for fireworks duo!!! I think cc!quackity’s lore stream and said talk with c!charlie has set up a good precedent for actual forgiveness arcs. I know this is a very controversial take but I really enjoy “undeserved” forgiveness in media. Not like a character getting off scott free right after doing something, but a journey happening which neither party ends up happy because of their inability to forgive or compromise and they’ve come to an impasse and the literal only way to move forward is to forgive each other and keep going. Learning to let go of old pain, recovering and moving forward(to fresh new pain!! /j/j/j/j/j) And it’s a hard trope to write well! But I’m hoping that the (hopefully) upcoming fireworks duo stream will be the start, they might lightly talk, they might see each other in a new light, maybe even admit things they’ve done wrong(who am i kidding im a c!tubbo apologist my boy has literally never done anything wrong ever) and we can move on from revenge plots! Because another personal opinion, there have been too many! And I am bored of them. Give us allies to enemies to begrudging allies to friends fireworks duo I believe
Lastly, I understand being invested in a story and caring about characters, but don’t forget fandom is supposed to be fun! If it’s making you this upset maybe take breather. Go get a snack. Open a window and remember the entire internet is fake and you’re okay :D
(pls don’t be mean in replies i mean all of this /lh I just had thoughts)

Will Byers! :)
I meant to answer this Ask an eternity ago, and you have been so incredibly patient with me! (Thank you!!!)
I think because Will is my favorite character, I started to fuss over my answer too much, and before I knew it we were here: a few months later, and a long while after I offered to answer these specific questions for character Asks. Today, I want to finally answer your Ask for my favorite character: Will Byers.
Will Byers
Favorite thing about them:
Will loves and appreciates his friends so much, and you can tell that he would do absolutely anything for Joyce or Jonathan too. My favorite thing about Will is his love and devotion to others. I think that since Castle Byers symbolically represents a safe place for Will, it also reveals what Will deeply cares about and chooses to protect within that safe place, and one of those things is his friendships. “Castle Byers: All Friends Welcome.” Castle Byers represents Will’s desire to welcome all friends with open arms and unconditional acceptance. While I think that Will would be kindhearted regardless, I think that because Will knows how painful rejection is from facing the bullies at school and his father’s insults, Will puts forth an extra effort to make sure that everyone in his life feels appreciated and loved. Will shares his secret safe-place in the woods with anyone willing to be his friend. Castle Byers is like a secret shrine dedicated to everything Will is passionate about (comics, D&D, art) and is also dedicated to those he loves and to those who love and accept him in return. He has photographs of his friends, drawings on the walls that he made about their D&D campaigns together, and comics that they’ve probably all shared. In spite of his limited means, Will is very generous with what he offers to others: he gave the little girl that was crying in the sandbox his Tonka Truck (even though Joyce cautioned him that they couldn’t afford to get a new one), he’s given Mike dozens of drawings (if Mike’s decorated walls and his binder full of Will’s artworks are any small evidence of this) and Will has given his mom a good number of drawings too that she cherishes. Will wants everyone to feel loved and to be happy, and is grateful to those that are there for him. Undoubtedly some of this stems from his deep insecurities and his lack of self-worth and his desire to be loved and appreciated back, but I think most of it is still rooted in Will’s genuine desire to make sure that other people are happy because their happiness makes him happy too.
Least favorite thing about them:
I appreciate all of the characters for their strengths as well as their flaws because it’s what makes them so very human and relatable. But Will definitely has some traits that I hope, for his own sake, he’ll learn to manage in a healthier way. Will’s weakness is that he often places the wants and needs of others before his own, and he seeks to avoid conflict at all costs. These are arguably admirable traits that are directly related to Will’s love and affection for other people (which I said was my favorite thing about him!), but they can also be self-destructive and unhealthy habits and I think they are, at least in part, the result of Will growing up in a combative and abusive home environment. I admire Will for his selflessness and for his desire to avoid conflict, but I list his excessive selflessness and his excessive desire to keep the peace as two things that make me worry about him. I hope he will learn to balance these two impulses in a healthier way over the next few seasons. I think that learning to deal with these two bad habits in a healthier way will be part of Will’s personal growth over the next two seasons.
Favorite line(s):
“Yea. Crazy together.”
brOTP:
Jonathan and Will, of course! I was sad that we didn’t get more scenes with them together in season 3, but I appreciate every moment in the series that we’ve gotten so far. Jonathan’s effort to reassure Will that it’s ok to be “a freak,” and that being different is preferable to being just like everybody else, was really heartwarming and is probably one of my favorite scenes in the entire series.
OTP:
As you have probably figured out if you have been following my blog for even a few days: I’m convinced that Will and Mike are meant to be together by the end of the series, and I am eager to talk about it some other time in another post.
nOTP:
I cannot bring myself to imagine Will and El ever dating. But I look forward to them hopefully becoming very close, and teaming up platonically!
random headcanon:
Hmmm. So this is actually the part of this post that had me delaying responding to your Ask for so long, because my head-canon for Will is incredibly specific, unconventional, frequently controversial (from what I've noticed when this topic is discussed), and a bit complicated to explain. But I do want to talk about it! And I want to clarify that I actually don’t think of this as a head-canon: I solidly consider it a theory that might account for what is happening to Will, and what also is happening to other characters based on specific evidence within the series so far.
I won’t get into all of the evidence and layers in this post (because there is a lot), but I strongly suspect that Will Byers is being written as a character with dissociative identity disorder and that much of Stranger Things is about alters learning to work together as a System while confronting and resolving trauma that is manifesting itself in internal worlds and dreams various symbolic and fantastical ways (as well as in some very humanly monstrous ways too, unfortunately.) Whether the entire story is taking place within an internal world or whether everything has sprung out of the mind and into the external world is definitely a question I think about a lot, but my current interpretation is that a good amount of the story takes place in a liminal space between our external world / reality and a mental space that the characters are sometimes exploring.
Stranger Things follows characters that are canonically dealing with PTSD, significant levels of memory loss (Will couldn’t remember who Hopper was in season 2 while at the Lab), suddenly shifting from being mentally present in the world to being in a different perceived place (is the Upside Down an internal world?), perceived changes in personality and identity, traumatic visions and experiences (flashbacks? memories?) that often parallel one another in an eerie way, and many other specific details. Add to that Doctor Owens’ preoccupation with Will’s brain scans and Mr. Clarke’s lesson in season 2 in which he discusses Phineas Gage’s changed personality following Gage’s brain injury (which is not an example of DID but is still thematically relevant, and an oddly specific topic to feature in the series) and the clues just continue to add up. Even if this theory isn’t correct I look forward to continuing to discover more about the established rules of the Stranger Things universe and what is going on with Will, El, Hopper, the Numbers, all of these horrible father-figures (notably Dr. Brenner, Lonnie, and Neil) and the mysterious Lab.
(One last important note regarding this theory: please do not base your knowledge of DID on any fictional representation of it in popular media. A lot of misrepresentations of DID exist in Hollywood and pop culture. If you'd like to learn more on this topic, please read about it in medical publications and resources with verifiable authority on the topic.)
unpopular opinion:
I think that the theory I mentioned above is probably my most unpopular opinion/thought regarding what I think Will is dealing with.
songs I associate with them:
The songs that they chose to feature on Will’s official Spotify Playlist are all songs that I associate with Will at this point. I’m so impressed by the attention the creators of Stranger Things devote to the music not only in the show but to the characters’ official playlists. One track that definitely jumps out at me from Will’s official playlist is Afraid by The Neighborhood. The lyrics of the chorus are eerily specific: “When I wake up / I’m afraid / somebody else will take my place / when I wake up / I’m afraid / somebody else will end up being me.”
favorite picture(s) of them:

The big Conscript accessibility + options update!
Hello everyone, hope you are all doing well. I’ve been hard at work getting a new demo revision ready for mid-October.
MAIN MENU
Here’s a look at the initial main menu for Conscript. I find it quite atmospheric and have found myself just keeping it on in the background while I work. The last menu for the previous demo was quite rushed so I’m happy with how this one has turned out.
Tumblr media
ACCESSIBILITY
Recently, the topic of accessibility has been on my mind. As a developer it’s easy to find yourself resisting against a player’s ability to alter your “vision” of the game. I can understand this sentiment - as I’m somebody who holds my project VERY close to my heart. This topic was inspired by a conversation on the Conscript Discord where I was asked how accessible the game would be. My immediate internal reaction to any questions relating to adding a new unplanned feature is generally “isn’t my damn Trello board already big enough??”
After some reflection and research however, this is a silly way to look at things. Yes, any new feature takes hours or even days to implement - but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth doing. For example, as a developer I end up putting in many extra days and weeks trying to get the game on different online storefronts or even other consoles, all in hopes of trying to expose the game to more people but I would never question this time as anything but time well spent.
Accessibility is the same thing really. There are extra hours of work I can put in to ensure that MORE people can be exposed to the game and enjoy it.  So that’s what I’ve been doing, even if it has meant putting extra work hours in every day for the past few weeks.
PAUSE
First, you can now visit the options menu at any time without having to go through the inventory.  A tiny change, but it was requested quite a few times.
Tumblr media
VISUAL OPTIONS
Something I wanted to solve was text readability. There are now a variety of settings to adjust different properties of the text in-game.
You can now choose between HD and pixelated fonts. Even though low-res pixel font is coherent with the general art style, it is not the most legible typeface to read. Now you can have the option to “HD-ify” the font, which makes for greater readability.
Tumblr media
For those with dyslexia who may have trouble discerning between serif style characters, you can now opt for a simple sans-serif font style. This can also be toggled between HD or pixelated.
Tumblr media
Text colour can also be changed between white, yellow, green, red or blue.
Tumblr media
This is applied to all standard text throughout the game!
And finally, the background opacity of the standard textbox can be customised from 0 to 100. If you are struggling to discern between the text and background it may be easier to have this on 100 so the text stands more.
Tumblr media
I feel like all these extra little options will solve the text readability issue for the majority of players. Any colour specific elements will also have non-colour related visual indicators. They are small changes but hopefully go a long way for some.
There are also some extra little visual accessibility options for those who may have trouble focusing on certain elements of the game’s artstyle. You can now zoom the camera in up close to our protagonist, and also alter cursor, crosshair and interaction icon properties such as size and colour. HUD opacity can also be lowered, but it is set to 100 by default.
Tumblr media
The screen blood that appears when you take damage can also be turned off now, as can any bright flashes in the game for those who are photosensitive or epileptic. For those who don’t enjoy screenshake, that can be turned off too.
It hasn’t been implemented yet, but I am working on having brightness and contrast settings too in the future. Even though the game won’t feature much voice acting, I am going to work on having subtitles available not just for voices but also for any kind of hard-to-read environmental text.
AUDIO OPTIONS
Nothing too fancy, but you can now adjust SFX, music and master volume all independently. This required a rework of the audio system so it was actually quite challenging, but happy to have it completed and working.
Tumblr media
BLOOD TOGGLE
Blood and gore effects can now be toned down substantially, although it will be left on by default. The reason I decided to include this is because there may be some who are more interested in exploring the history of Conscript without the intense and bloody combat . In my opinion, Conscript is equal parts a history game and a survival horror game, so there will be cross pollination between those two demographics. Most of you will probably leave this on but it’s nice to have it there anyway.
Tumblr media
DIFFICULTY MODES
During the Kickstarter campaign, we reached the stretch goal for two difficulty modes but I am going to include some extra ones in the final game. There will now be six difficulty modes in total.
Training (Assist Mode)
This mode will feature checkpoints, increased health capacity and player damage will be increased.
Recruit / Soldier / Veteran
These three will be the standard easy/normal/hard sort of thing from every other game in existence. Enemy damage and item quantity variables will be the main differences between these modes.
War Hero
This will feature more “realistic” elements from modes like Resident Evil Remake’s “Real Survival” difficulty. Item boxes will be unlinked from each other and limited saves will be mandatory. It will contain the same gameplay modifiers as Veteran mode.
Grognard (French for “old soldier”)
This ultimate challenge will include all the features of War Hero mode but with PERMADEATH. Yep, you heard right.
Tumblr media
LIMITED SAVE TOGGLE
Limited saving has always been controversial. The reason I opted for this old-school survival horror mechanic is because it introduces a risk/reward style of gameplay where players generally try and squeeze in one extra “task” before the next save, leading to extra hard decisions being made during gameplay. Understandably, not everyone wants to deal with this though. Despite this being the intended way to play, it will an optional toggle at the start of any Conscript playthrough. Note that on the very hardest difficulties it will be mandatory however.
Here’s a look at the game parameter screen before you start a new save:
Tumblr media
You will also have the ability to toggle off Kickstarter backer easter eggs if you so wish.
CONTROL SETTINGS
Any action that requires you to hold a button - such as aiming and running - can now be toggled with one button press instead.
Also, I’m going to implement both a quick melee and quick heal feature so that you don’t have to go into the inventory just to break some barrels or use a healing item.
You can also turn off mouse support to play the game with a keyboard only.
Tumblr media
CONTROLLER REMAPPING
Full control remapping is now available for both keyboard and gamepad control schemes. This was a complicated and time consuming thing for me to implement but I’m glad to finally have it available.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hang on a second… did the inventory just change?
BAG STYLES
By far the biggest feature in Conscript history....
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was a fun little extra I decided to make when I was testing out the flexibility of the new options menu. Admittedly it has nothing to do with accessibility, but it is related to the options menu! You can now change the colour of the inventory background. You will be spending a lot of time there so I figured it would be cool to give some small level of customization... there may even be some extra unlockable styles in the full game! Any ideas for patterns or designs?
So that’s what I’ve been working on the past two weeks! What do you think? I know menu heavy things aren't exactly the most marketable features, but I felt it was important to share. Are there any other reasonably in-scope accessibility options you all would like to see?

Adobe Lightroom 57 Download Torrent Software
Buying Lightroom used to be simple. All you had to do was buy the full version of the program, and upgrade (if you wished) every time a new version came out. But ever since Adobe announced the Creative Cloud subscription service, photographers have been faced with two choices. You can still go for the standalone version, or you can buy Lightroom as part of a Creative Cloud monthly membership. But how do you know which is the best option for you? Read on to find out.

Create incredible images of complex high-contrast scenes. The new HDR Combine dazvaliae combines more recordedimages with different exposure locations in a high dynamic image of a malicious.
Creative Cloud is announced
Adobe’s initial announcement of the Creative Cloud licensing concept was somewhat controversial as the price for a subscription to Photoshop ran at $20 a month (all prices in this article are in US dollars). For photographers who had already purchased the full version of Photoshop this represented a significant price increase. Not only was subscribing more expensive in the long run, compared to upgrading Photoshop regularly, but the license to use the software expired once monthly payments stopped.
There’s little doubt this was a raw deal, but Adobe listened and introduced a new package for photographers – a subscription to both Lightroom and Photoshop CC for $9.99 a month (or $119.88 per year).
Read about this on forums and photography websites and you will still come across a lot of negativity towards the Creative Cloud subscription model, especially from Photoshop users upset at the loss of a perpetual licence. But today, I aim to cut through this negativity and take an objective look at the differences between the two options.
Two types of Lightroom users
To start, we have to acknowledge that there are two types of Lightroom users.
The first uses Lightroom in conjunction with Photoshop and wants access to both programs. For this user, the Creative Cloud option is the only choice if you want the latest version of Photoshop CC. Alternatively, if you own a version of Photoshop CS and are not bothered about upgrading to Photoshop CC, you can buy the standalone version of Lightroom and use them together.
The second type of user carries out the bulk of their image processing in Lightroom. For tasks Lightroom can’t handle, they may use an older version of Photoshop, a less powerful program like Photoshop Elements, or a plug-in such as the Nik Collection or Perfect Photo Suite 9. These users may be wondering whether to continue using the standalone version of the software or to subscribe.
Financial considerations
If you are on a budget, and don’t need Photoshop CC, then it is definitely less expensive to buy the standalone version of Lightroom. At the moment a new version of Lightroom comes out approximately every 18 months. At $9.99 a month, the subscription service would cost you $179.82 over that period. If you are new to Lightroom, the full version (priced at $149 from the Adobe website) saves you money, and if you already own Lightroom, then the upgrade (priced at $79) is even less, saving you a little over $100 over the same time period.
As a standalone version user you get free upgrades until a full new version comes out. So, if you upgraded to Lightroom 5.0 when it first came out, you can upgrade to the latest version (5.7) for free, taking advantage of new features introduced since then. But when Lightroom 6 comes out, you will need to pay the upgrade fee to use it. Upgrading isn’t compulsory, and you can continue to use your earlier version of Lightroom as long as you want.
Adobe have stressed their commitment to continuing the standalone version of Lightroom for the foreseeable future.
Note:The standalone version of Lightroom is a little hard to find on Adobe’s website. You can get there by going to Adobe’s home page and clicking the Menu option at the top. Click the All Products button at the bottom, scroll down to Lightroom and click Buy. Or you can also find it here on Amazon.
What the Creative Cloud subscription gives you
The Creative Cloud subscription is more expensive, so what do you get for that extra money? The two headline features are Photoshop CC, a powerful image editing program that you are likely familiar with, plus access to Lightroom Mobile, a mobile version of Lightroom that works with iPads and iPhones (but not currently with devices using the Android or Windows operating systems).
There are several additional features that may interest some people, such as 2GB of online storage space, access to Lightroom Web and the ability to use Photoshop CC and Lightroom on multiple machines (although not at the same time).
What happens when the Creative Cloud license ends?
If you stop paying your subscription fee you no longer have the right to use the full versions of Photoshop CC and Lightroom. Photoshop will stop working completely (or at least until you renew the subscription).
But Lightroom is different. Bear in mind that with Lightroom your Raw files are untouched. The edits you make are stored in the Catalog. If you lose access to the Catalog, you lose access to all the edits you have made to your images, including all post-processing.
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 6 Torrent
Tumblr media
Adobe doesn’t want that to happen, so it gives you partial access to Lightroom even if you cancel your Creative Cloud subscription. You have full access to the Library, Book, Print, Slideshow and Web modules. The Develop module is severely restricted (you can’t make any adjustments using the right-hand panels) and there is no access to the Map module.
Your Catalog remains intact, including any Collections you’re created and any changes to metadata, including ratings and keywords. So does your post-processing, and the ability to make basic edits to photo files using the Quick Develop panel. You can also export your photos any time you want.
You need to have Lightroom Version 5.5 or later installed for this to work.
Adobe Lightroom 57 Download Torrent Software
Conclusion
Hopefully you are now clearer about how the two ways of buying Lightroom differ, and which is best for you. If you want to use the most up to date version of Photoshop CC, or Lightroom Mobile, then the Creative Cloud subscription service is the choice for you.
Tumblr media
However, if you don’t require the latest version of Photoshop CC, or Lightroom Mobile, then buying the standalone version is the least expensive way to go.
What do you think? Have Adobe got it right with the price and services offered for the Creative Cloud Photography plan? Do you use the Creative Cloud version of Lightroom or the standalone version? Please let us know in the comments.

Miraculous Fantasy chapter 1
Marinette Dupain-Cheng was with her parents as they were in the limo of Audrey Bourgeois, Marinette had ended up deciding she wanted to take her out on her offer of being taken to New York in order to become her protégée. She did say that she wanted Audrey to keep in touch with her daughter Chloe, so she ended up helping her biggest bully bond some more with her mother.
Go figure.
She had a hard time saying goodbye to her friends but they had all promised to keep in touch through video chat and messages. Her friends from the class and school had all set up a going away party for her which was also attended by Jagged Stone (to everyone’s delight), her grandmother Gina and Nadja Chamack along with Manon.
She definitely was going to miss Alya, her best friend since the start of the school year. If it wasn’t for her advice and encouragement, she didn’t think she would have ever had the confidence she needed to continue being Ladybug or stand up to Chloe.
She was guilty about leaving them all but even guiltier about leaving Paris without Ladybug but Master Fu had the solution. The Horse Miraculous with Kaalki as its Kwami, gifted with the power of teleportation. With it an Akuma alert on her phone it means she can teleport back to Paris to deal with any emergencies as Ladybug.
It would be hard and something to get used to but she wanted to take her duties as Ladybug seriously while taking this enormous opportunity to further her fashion career.
She had arrived with her parents Tom and Sabine to New York in Audrey’s helicopter and had directed them to her limo. She was now taking them to the bakery building that Audrey had bought for them to start up their baker business again.
She could not beleive how supportive her parents were of her taking this apprenticeship deal and willing to re-establish their bakery in a whole different city. They were truly the best parents she could ever hope to ask for.
She and her parents were speechless looking at the tall buildings and busy streets, “Get used to Queens my dear protégée, it is the perfect place for the Queen of Fashion and the new home for the future Queen of Fashion.” Audrey remarked with a smile from her seat which was facing them. She then had a bit of a frown. “Of course when you get there Marinette, I hope you won’t repeat Gabriel’s error and forget to get me my front row seat for the fashion shows you would be hosting.” She remarked to Marinette’s direction.
Marinette gave a nervous nod as Audrey turned her attention to the window; Marinette looked to her handbag where Tikki was hiding. Tikki had been looking at the pamphlet (translated into French) of the school that she would be transferred to. Midtown Academy; a gifted school with different programs for the students and their specialties including science and of course fashion.
“Looks like it will be a good school Marinette, hopefully there will not be another Chloe.” Tikki whispered to Marinette and she smiled in response. Tikki was doing her best to be there for Marinette for this new change of life and circumstances.
The limo driver stopped and told them they were there; they went out and saw the bakery building which looked not a lot different from the one from home if only without color and it looked like it had been closed for some time. Probably from the previous owners. “I know it looks drab but I am sure you can fix it a bit.” Audrey told them shaking her head.
“No worries Audrey, we can make it home in no time!” Tom said pulling Marinette and Gina into his arms but Audrey sighed.
They then heard something on the road and were shocked to see a futuristic car speeding by and at the back holding on and looking like he was trying to stop it was a costumed figure.
The figure was dressed in a red hooded sleeveless jumper with a black spider logo on it, a light blue top underneath it, a red ski mask, black ski goggles, red fingerless gloves, red boots and light blue track bottoms.
They were shocked but Audrey shook her head, “Great, it’s that dumpster diving Spider-Man again. He started appearing a few months ago and brings disaster wherever he goes.” Audrey explained in a displeased tone.
“Well looks like we won’t be far from red clad heroes in New York either.” Gina commented with a smile that Tom and Marinette returned. Audrey shook their heads as she had her driver help them get their bags inside so they could start unpacking.
Marinette shared a quick glance at Tikki inside her handbag as they both thought that this Spider-Man could be someone to keep an eye on.
*pb*
It had been a normal day at Midtown Academy for Peter Parker, paying attention to all his classes and talking to his friends in his class. Afterwards with all his homework done and his Aunt May having let him know beforehand she would be late with her job working at the FEAST homeless shelter, he thought he could spend some time being Spider-Man.
Once he had gotten changed he had gone out and started web slinging, some people were taking pictures or video with their phones as they saw him but he had to be careful to try and not get seen by any police officers.
While some people appreciated what he did, the NYPD were not exactly on friendly terms with him. Most of them did not appreciate a masked vigilante interfering in police work, he got some on his side but for the most part they were not fans of him.
he found a speeding futuristic car speeding by on the road and was quick to try and catch it this time. The car and the driver had been the getaway driver for several robberies. He had tried but hadn’t been able to catch it. The car was too fast before.
He had wanted to marvel at how the car could work and what technology was in it but he had to focus on catching it.
He had web slinged after it and had been trying to stop it for about three quarters of an hour. He had grabbed hold o if it but was forced to let go several times. Call it being determined or being stupidly stubborn but he refused to give up.
He was getting him this time.
It paid off as he managed to slow down the car from the back and rip off the door; he jumped up to the front of the car and managed to force it to slow down. He went and grabbed the driver who was in a black bodysuit and a black race car driving helmet with a blue visor.
He dragged him out and was stunned to see the car as if by magically turn into a normal car. The passerbys were taking pictures and the man told him “pretty cool huh? I have special nanites injected into my blood that allows me to transform any vehicle I am driving and make them super fast! If you have any Superhero friends can you please tell them that I go by Overdrive!”
Peter stood stunned but then saw police cars arrive and out came a familiar blonde haired police captain glaring harshly at Peter. “Hey George, glad to see your eye has healed....” Peter said nervously.
“Captain Stacy to you Wallcrawler, now put your hands......” snapped Captain George Stacy but Peter just jumped up and ran up the nearest building. The police officers arrested Overdrive and Captain Stacy called for police helicopters to look out for Spider-Man.
He got up and then was in a hurry to web sling to his secret base, hopefully before they can pick up his trail.
Captain George Stacy was easily the police officer who was out for Spider-Man’s blood the most. On the 2nd week of being Spider-Man, Peter had gotten word of a sale of weapons in a district by a criminal carter. He had jumped into the middle of the meeting.
Captain Stacy was pretty much his harshest critic besides J. Jonah Jameson, the man who owned and ran the controversial internet news outlet the Daily Bugle.
He had taken out most of the men and had kicked the head of the buyers hard in the eye. It turns out the head buyer was Captain Stacy and the men with him were undercover cops and he had ruined a sting operation.
Peter had apologised in a panic and escaped before Captain Stacy’s backup could arrive. He had definitely not a made a friend with Captain Stacy there.
Making sure no one was looking Peter made it to the warehouse district and opened up a high window of one of the warehouses. This warehouse had belonged to his parents before they had died and Aunt May and Uncle Ben (when he was still with them) had given him the keys. He had been using it as his base which he called the Spider’s Nest.
Of course calling it a base would be generous.
There were tables of various broken down gadgets that he had taking to fixing, there were clothes hangers for the other copies of the suit he had gotten (mostly from charity stores), a fixed up computer and a fixed up sewing machine he was using to mend his suits when he needed to as well as sew the Spider logo into his jumpers.
He sighed as he gotten changed into his normal clothes and thought he could rest for a while before need to go back home to his and Aunt May’s apartment. He looked to the wall where there were various posters he had put up.
There was one that was advertising Ultimate Mecha Strike III (the first one was one of his favourite Video Games, the second one was kind a disappointment in his eyes but the third one was a well worthy of being the true follow up of the first one), there was one with the logo of Horizon Labs the company ran by one of his personal science heroes Max Modell and of the world famous superheroine Majestia.
She was one who probably didn’t need to worry about the police being after her since whenever she saved the Earth it would make the front page. She was amazing and hopes that he could live up to her standard of Superheroing one day.
Of course he was also hoping to live up to the memory of someone close to him that he had lost....

Final Thoughts on Girls Part 2: They rarely exhibit noble motives. They never have particularly appealing jobs. They have to rely on their parents much of the time for rent. They don’t realize how privileged and insular they are, they are so bratty and obnoxious. In a purely objective sense, they are a perfect mirror for millennial multigenerational white America of a certain education level. In the last episode, Hannah makes a fool of herself and is barefoot in upstate New York. A black cop notices her, offers her a ride home, and when she rejects it, tails her anyway to make sure she’s safe. Would he have done that if she was black? Highly unlikely. Almost certainly she would have been in jail, maybe dead. I almost feel like we’ve become more segregated in some ways, certainly it terms of TV programming, than even the openly racist/ethnic tension times of the early 90s and before. Even then there are black shows like Cosby, A Different World, Family Matters that everyone watched. Until Blackish came around, I can’t think of a single black sitcom on network TV between the early 90s and late 2000s. That switched to BET and maybe Tyler Perry for almost totally black audiences, but not much else. When’s the last time you even saw a Native American portrayed in a movie or TV show? That’s likely the fault of Cancel Culture for constantly complaining about Native American portrayal, so much so that production companies and networks just decided to forget the original peoples because they didn’t want to deal with the controversy or lawsuits. We need to figure out how to have realistic portrayals of ALL Americans, internal and external, without the PC police constantly yelling bigotry for anything and everything, and at the same override and subvert the main problem which is the notion that only white sells. Only then can we have a truly accurate and diverse portrayal of America today. In any case, for that reason, I do think Girls is a worthy show for its time despite its wretched limitations which hopefully won’t be repeated if our society changes, I guess we will wait on that, and it did do many things content-wise that most shows of its time didn’t. As for the privilege of its cast, predictably only Allison Williams (likely because of her good looks) has done anything with her career among the girls, and of course Adam Driver among the guys, because his looks don’t matter. Dunham and Mamet I’ve seen in bit roles, but that’s it, and Elijah was already a Broadway star. I guess being a playwright’s daughter will only get you so far. I’d never even heard of Dunham’s mom before the show came on, and Brian Williams is gone. This is not to defend them. I have no doubt Dunham and her cohorts are just as blind to their white privilege as are their characters, and maybe they will never change. But looking at the show as simply a mirror of its time within its subgroup, I’d say it appears fairly accurate.

Bnha is a little too irregular for me right now (covid is the worst :( ), so I started reading One Piece and it's like, soooo long. Got me thinking, how long do you think Bnha will be? Personally I think we're just before time skip and it will take, like 300-400 chapters to end? So manga would be 600-700 chapters long. I could be wrong of course. Thoughts?
One Piece is fucking awesome, and the beauty of it is that is is 12 million chapters long so it will take approximately 182 years to finish reading, and you are almost guaranteed to be entertained for the vast majority of that time lol. I actually took a break from it a little ways into the Wano arc (sometime in the middle of what would later become volume 92) because it was getting harder for me to keep up with the plot week by week, especially since I was really into BnHA fandom by that time. my plan was to binge it once Wano ends. however when I was looking at the list of chapters on Wikipedia just now I saw that Oda is only 11 chapters away from breaking the 1k mark, which is pretty awesome. so I might try to catch up in the next month or two in celebration of that milestone, because damn.
with BnHA though, my own guess for how long the series will be is actually a lot shorter than most estimates I’ve seen. first of all, full disclosure that I am definitely biased regarding the timeskip part, because I personally am not the biggest fan of BnHA timeskip theories, unless they’re really short timeskips like the 3-month one we got recently. the thing is, this is explicitly a manga about their time at UA. it’s in the title and everything lol. and I like that. I like reading about them as kids, little hero eggs gradually growing into little hero chicks who will eventually become big hero birbs, but not just yet. a lot of the story’s appeal for me comes from that. there’s a certain... I don’t necessarily want to say innocence, but idealism, maybe?, that’s associated with stories about young adults, and doesn’t always carry over into the stories about those same adults once they’ve grown up. and I want the story to keep that.
there are a lot of things about the current setting that I’m very attached to and don’t want to lose. I like that they’re kids, and that they’re full of potential but don’t always know what they’re doing, and they screw up and make mistakes and get in over their heads, and are dealing with all of their messy jumbled teenage emotions. I like that they’re living with each other in the fanfic dorms and seeing each other every day in their classes. I like that romance isn’t a big part of the series (though there’s still plenty of shipping fuel to go around). I like that we get to see them interacting with their parents and siblings and get to see those relationships. and most of all, I like that -- unlike almost every other young adult series I can think of -- BnHA acknowledges that they are just kids, and the adults by and large actually treat them as such. and yes, I’m even including the child soldiers arc here, because the decision to basically draft them into a war was handed down by the HPSC (an organization that likely has a history with child abuse from what we’ve seen). U.A. was against it, and tried their best to keep them away from the front lines, chilling out in the woods and helping with evacuations instead of fighting villains. contrast this with, say, a:tla, which I love, but which is very much one of those series filled with full-grown adults who are all “it’s up to this 12-year-old and his assorted 12-to-15-year-old friends to lead the battle to save the world lulz.” and this includes possibly the most beloved full-grown adult of all time, who nonetheless peaces out with an ironclad argument of “while it is true that the final villain is my actual brother, I’m still going to let the 12-year-old handle it because something something politics slash destiny.”
but anyways lol got sidetracked there. so steering this back on course now, I genuinely, truly love that in BnHA there are all these adults in the characters’ lives who are trying to keep them safe and nurture them and shield them from that extra burden of responsibility for as long as possible while they’re still learning. and so the kids have that extra safety net of support, which to me as a reader is just... comforting, I guess. like, I understand that it’s not going to last forever, but it’s reassuring to know that it exists for them for now. and I’m not in any hurry to say goodbye to that in favor of just tossing them out into tHE REAL WORLD!! lol. like omg no my babies.
anyway but so the point is that, with respect to everyone else’s theories, I personally don’t want a timeskip lol. and tbh I don’t really see the need for one either? if anything, we’re about to enter the most chaotic period in the entire manga once this arc ends. I’m assuming Tomura will survive this and escape somehow, the better to live and fight another day. and so if that’s the case, I feel like this would be the absolute weirdest time to do a timeskip, because how far ahead can we even jump lol. too far and we’d basically be coming back to an already-destroyed world lol whoops. basically I just don’t see how we can jump ahead more than a few months at the most, assuming that the threat of Tomura is going to be looming over everyone’s heads the entire time. plus we’d miss out on what I’m betting is going to be some of the most intense worldbuilding drama in the entire series, with our beloved characters potentially being swept up in like half a dozen political controversies. I sure don’t want to miss out on any of that. we didn’t wait so long to see this war play out only to skip out on the highly entertaining aftermath of it all.
anyway so that’s my as-usual-longer-than-necessary rant about timeskips. so now let’s talk about the series length. and here, I’m basically just basing my guess off of what Horikoshi has said in interviews. off the top of my head, there are three times he’s mentioned the ending of the series in interviews. first, there’s this interview, published in July 2018:
Interviewer: Previously in SUGOI JAPAN*, you mentioned that you would like Boku No Hero Academia to be a short and concise story and not drawn out, but what percentage of the story is complete at this point?
Horikoshi: When the decision to extend the series happened, I personally thought “I guess I want to end it here” and it was around Volume 30.
Interviewer: So then are you 2/3 done with the story?
Horikoshi: That’s what I had originally planned, but when I think of all the things that must be set up before getting into the last arc, I realized, “Ending the series at Volume 30 will be impossible” (laughs). However, the current arc that is going on all has purpose that will be relevant in the last arc.
*this is referencing a remark he made back at an awards ceremony back in March 2017.
second, we have this interview from August 2018, where he again mentions wanting to keep the story concise:
Do you know what the ending of My Hero Academia is? Do you think it'll be 80+ volumes like One Piece?
No, it won't be infinite – I don't have the stamina for it to be as long as One Piece. I'd like to keep it concise.
and lastly,  this one which was published in December 2019:
What can you say about the future events of the manga?
I’m conscious of the end of the series, and writing towards that. I think the story will always be moving in big ways going forwards. My Hero Academia has a lot of characters, a lot of characters doing different things with different motivations, and the story is heading towards a conclusion where all of that comes together and heads towards the end.
my takeaways from these interviews are that (1) he originally planned for the story to be about 300 chapters long, (2) he’s had a clear idea of his overall endgame for a while now and has been steadily working towards that (as he put it in another interview, he knows all of the dots, but is still figuring out the lines to connect them all), and (3) he specifically said a couple years back that he did not want to write a long One Piece-length series, and his goal was to write a more concise story than that. Horikoshi’s pacing has always been much faster than Oda’s (or Kishimoto’s, or Kubo’s, etc.), and so I think it’s a realistic goal for him to wind up with a significantly shorter story in comparison.
my best guess is that BnHA won’t be much longer than 400 chapters, or a little over 40 volumes. he said back around chapter 180-something that he was nowhere close to being two-thirds of the way done. but it’s been two years since then, and if we haven’t reached at least the two-thirds mark by this point, I would honestly be very surprised. it would mean we’ve barely made any progress at all, and I don’t know about you, but the past few arcs have felt very purpose-driven to me. I think he has a pretty good idea of where he’s heading at this point, and that to me supports the idea of a shorter story than a lot of people have speculated. mind you, he might end up doing a sequel or something afterwards (although I kind of cringe thinking about all the ways we’ve seen that kind of thing go wrong in the past, ngl).
but as far as the series proper, yeah, I’d say 400 chapters is my best guess. ultimately I just hope he’s able to tell the story he wants to tell and gets as much time as he needs to do so, without feeling any pressure to then drag it on past that. knowing when to end your series is so underrated honestly. I have my fingers crossed that it’s a skill Horikoshi hopefully possesses.

Fanfiction Recommendations
Just a few of my personal favorite Wings of Fire fanfictions. I'm going to try and keep them organized but no promises.
Also please give these fics love by leaving a review. They are honestly really good and lot of them have like maybe five reviews at the most. I'm trying to get better at leaving reviews myself. It is so important to make sure they know it is being enjoyed by others.
If anyone has a fic they don't see on here let me know since I might have forgotten it or not read it yet. Thank you and enjoy!
Shipping
Healed by @sandshadow
Summary: Flame has a lot of issues and has been sent away to the healing center in the Sky Kingdom to deal with them. The last dragons he expected, or wanted, to see there were Umber and Sora. As Flame spends more time in the healing center, and with Umber, he starts to heal in more ways than one. But can he overcome the hate that's been growing in him for so long? T for coarse language.
A personal favorite of mine. And Flumber has quickly become a favorite pairing of mine in this fandom. The only problem I have is there's not a lot of Flumber outside of this fic. But that's okay since there has been an addition to the lore (is that the right word here?) of the fic with an adorable two-shot that takes place a little bit after the events of this fic.
But on other news it's honestly just a good character piece as well. Umber and Flame get great focus and we also get to see Sora again. And there's therapy. Honest to goodness these characters are getting therapy. Praise the Moon's!!!!
10/10 will read again. (Honestly its become one of my therapy fics that I read when I get upset. 😆)
Embracing Peril by Ilral (for the life of me I couldn't find out if there was a Tumblr for them so please let me know so I can add it onto this post.)
Summary: Peril always knew she was different, of course, but it still surprised her just how many ways the world came up with to make her distant. Oh well, at least Clay is here now to buoy her up. And they might just have more in common than she realizes...
A pretty good Cleril fic that deals with a lot of potential prejudices the dragon society might have. A lot of these aren't my headcanons but I can still appreciate the work that went into the fic. And the characters are written pretty well. I like seeing Clay and Peril as an established couple.
A perfect example of it being possible to enjoy a fic even if you don't necessarily share all of the same headcanons as the author.
How to Dance with Rainwings by @quasimagical
Summary: Deathbringer had never anticipated the harsh reality of being pushed away by the love of his life. But when the RainWing queen presents him with a new assignment, he finds himself trapped in the middle of an even more puzzling predicament. AU.
OMG. It's a Jambringer fic. Honestly this one is really cute and I totally ship it. Just a warning Glorybringer isn't the only ship the author breaks up. And while I personally don't ship all the ships they went with I'm the type of person who can still roll with it. Haha.
Another issue is it actually has not been finished but from what I've heard the author does plan on picking it up again sooner or later. But it's definitely worth a read. It's good to see a Deathbringer fic where he is actually treated as a character and not... Well you know exactly what I'm talking about.
Anyway give it a read and review! It's worth it. :)
The Prince and the Body Guard by @a-croissant (based off of their bio on ffnet so hopefully that's right.)
Summary: A oneshot between Turtle and Pike. When Turtle notices that Anemone gets rid of Pike, and Pike runs away, he decides to go after him.
That's right it's a Pike/Turtle one shot. Low key this is really cute. That's kind of all I have to say about it. I ship it and it's adorable.
Character Fics
Winter: A Character Study/Faded Portraits by @sandshadow
Summary: Winter lies awake thinking of everything he's done wrong. The family he disappointed, the love he lost, and the friends he pushed away, but as the night wears on he comes to a new realization about himself.
Wow! Two @sandshadow fics on the list? What?!
Nah but seriously guys this is potentially one of my favorite fics in the fandom. Because I don't know if you know this but I am a Winter fan. And I am still bitter about how he was treated at the end of DoD.
(Also if I have to read any more Winterwatcher fics about him apologizing to Moon for being reasonably upset about a legitimately traumatic experience I am going to scream. )
Anyway. This is what I wish his epilogue in DoD had been. Read it for yourself. Leave a review... I practically an essay myself. My bad. 😅
Winter Returning by Fatespeaker (I can't find a Tumblr for this author so if anyone knows please let me know so I can add it to this post.)
Summary: A week before Icicle's trial, Winter returns to the Ice Kingdom for a very awkward visit. Tensions are high. Old conflicts have resurfaced. With his tribe still reeling from the recent disaster, his family destroyed, and a complicated friendship to deal with, Winter is left picking up the pieces of his old life...and discovering hope for a new one.
Surprise, surprise. It's another Winter fic. I love this boy so much.
Honestly this is done pretty well and we also get to see Winter interact with his family some more as well as getting to see him face some of his own trauma.
It's angsty in all of the best ways.
Aftermath by Fatespeaker (this author has some pretty good stuff honestly.)
Summary: When it comes to living family, Starflight definitely got the short end of the stick. He's kept his distance from his mad scientist father. Well-meaning Fatespeaker wants to help her friend by interviewing Mastermind, but even the briefest of conversations can dredge up uncomfortable truths. War is complicated...its aftermath is messier still.
Kudos to the author for touching on a pretty controversial character. I mean I completely understand why people dislike him. But I can't help it. The fact that his first thought when meeting Starflight was "look at my beautiful boy isn't he astounding!" It was just so refreshing in all the best ways.
I knew the shoe would drop, and what a shoe it was, but I still have a weird fondness for him. And don't fuss me. People can like characters who did horrible things and the thing is I think he's not beyond saving. It will be a lot of work but its possible.
Mastermind- The Scientist and Mastermind- The Monster by The Friendly Space Marine (Again. I don't know if there is a Tumblr for this author. I am so sorry.)
Summary: Mastermind. The NightWing who would become infamous for experimenting on live RainWing subjects. But what is the story behind Starflight's often demonised father? Why did he do it? What drove him to such lengths?
Mastermind. The NightWing embodiment of the mad scientist archetype. A dragon held in contempt by his own son. A monster responsible for unspeakable crimes against the RainWings. What made him do it? Did he ever truly realise the gravity of his actions?
I really like this take on the character! It adds a new layer to him that nobody really wants to acknowledge or see which I think comes back to the fact that people want to always see characters as good or bad. And I've already stated that I hate that mindset. Like... Wow, people with that mindset must live in a very boring and frankly cold world. I'm sorry for your loss.
Story Driven
Stories that are a little more story driven. Although some are very character-based too so this was kind of hard for me separate. Anyway enjoy!
Finding Peace by @warriorofspectra (for some reason it won't link. I don't understand Tumblr!!!)
Summary:Peacemaker has enjoyed a happy seven years. Raised by his mother and living amongst the RainWing and NightWing Tribes, he would ask for no better life. But with the emergence of nightmares, which have grown increasingly vivid upon arriving at the Jade Mountain Academy, Peacemaker begins to question whether or not the life he lives truly is his own or the shadow of another.
Ey... I already talked about this one before but it's definitely up there as one of my favorite fanfictions and probably my favorite Peacemaker fanfiction.
I don't even want to say anything in too much detail because it's just too good. All you need to know is the characters are great, including OCs. Peacemaker is adorable and almost makes me feel bad for hating the strawberry scene... Almost. Seriously just read it. And then take a peak at the authors side drabble series from POV of the other characters. There's one about Winter that I read just because it makes me so happy to see him again. Agh!
In the Light of the Moon's by Qebui (which is actually a group of people. So I have no clue if there are any Tumblrs associated or not)
Summary: We know the Dragonets of Destiny. Five dragons hatched on brightest night. However, what if the dragonets had hatched in the moonlight instead?
That's right we got a thrice born Starflight and Sunny Fanfiction. Not too much to say about this one. I just love this concept and I like what the authors are doing with it. :D
And... I think that's pretty much it. Wow, this was a lot of hard work. But fun. Lots of fun. And it was good coming back to some of these. Again if there was any I missed please let me know and I will glad I do an updated list adding them to it.
Thanks so much and see ya next time!

D23 Dissect: Kit Harrington Is Black Knight - Get Over It!
Tumblr media
Due to the unexpected and frankly unwarranted barrage of controversy that the reveal of Kit Harington portraying Black Knight in the upcoming 2020 Eternals movie is getting, I thought it necessary to bring an unbiased opinion to the conversation.
By unbiased I mean acknowledging and not insulting Kit Harington fans who have strong opinions on who he should be playing in the MCU, but still respecting the character he is portraying and what it could mean for Harington in the MCU.
Background:
Firstly, I have to say with every comment I read and every negative reaction I see to this casting announcement, I feel very sad for Kit Harington and the original creators of the Black Knight character.
Because Black Knight is more of a mantle than a superhero there are many different versions of the character, much like a lot of superheroes, the version Harington has been cast as is Dane Whitman, who is an American scientist of British descent who is the third character to don the mantle of Black Knight.
As with the second incarnation of the character Nathan Garrett, Whitman is a descendant of the original Black Knight Sir Percy, but also the nephew of Garrett who donned the mantle and became a supervillain.
After inheriting the Ebony Blade, he became the Black Knight and has since been a long-standing member of the Avengers as well as the Defenders, Heroes for Hire, Ultraforce and Masters of Evil among others.
Unfounded Hate:
Alright so yes Black Knight is not that well known of a character, Dane Whitman has never had an official appearance outside of the comics and because of that, yes I can understand why fans of Kit Harington are disgruntled about the fact that he has seemingly been saddled with such a random role.
Tumblr media
However, let’s face it, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is founded on virtually unknown Marvel characters. The Avengers were B and C-list heroes prior to their introduction into the MCU and this is because all of the A-List Marvel characters were owned by other studios.
Kevin Feige is praised as the Messiah of Marvel but in reality it is more like Midas because even the most unknown of characters like the Guardians of the Galaxy can become fan-favourites when given the Feige treatment.
Tumblr media
The best and most well-known characters prior to their appearance in the MCu were Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver and Spider-Man, the twins were compromised going in due to a deal with Fox about not mentioning any Mutant-related affiliations and Spider-Man is no longer part of the MCU due to a breakdown in Feige’s deal with Sony.
Yet rather than the X-Men, the Fantastic Four and Spider-Man prior to Holland’s appearance as the character being the favourites of today’s superhero fandom, instead we have fans in love with Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Ant-Man and Black Panther.
So it stands to reason that, if Black Knight turns out to be a strong enough character, that his commercial viability will grow just as most Marvel superheroes have in the last eleven years.
Kit Harington:
Now as for the casting of Kit Harington itself, I have mixed feelings about it. Not only do I feel that Eternals is a rather crowded movie as it is, but also Black Knight has never had any real affiliations with the Eternals...in fact he is most prominently a supporting character of Captain Britain aka Brian Braddocks who is the twin brother of the Mutant Psylocke and was very obscurely teased in Avengers: Endgame.
Tumblr media
So maybe Captain Britain would have been the better role for the British actor? At least he has already been teased and would be a more fan-favourite choice I feel.
But moving away from which role would suit Harington better, we have to consider that a role this obscure is maybe actually justified considering that his most prominent movie role to date is 2014′s Pompeii, because of course, Harington is quintessentially associated with Game of Thrones and his role as Jon Snow.
Tumblr media
Also, it seems that any role outside of Game of Thrones has not been well received by critics or fans as the television series Gunpowder was an absolute flop.
I am personally quite happy that Kit Harington is in a role where he hopefully won’t outshine his former GOT co-star Richard Madden who is seemingly in the leading role of Ikaris, because Madden does not have the same fame recognition as Harington.
Simply put, actors like Kit Harington, Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams are prominently and forever known as their characters from Game of Thrones, but actors who did not survive the entire run like Richard Madden had the chance to break free from being type cast and fortunately that is what he has done.
With roles in the live-action Cinderella as Prince Kit (ironic), the BBC series Bodyguard and most recently starring alongside Taron Egerton and Jaime Bell in Rocketman are all not only Madden’s way of keeping the money rolling in but also building up his portfolio in versatile roles.
However, I still remember him as a child actor 20 years ago in the CBBC series Barmy Aunt Boomerang, this guy has been working for 20 years and I feel he needs his time in the spotlight because even though he was a main character in Game of Thrones his biggest moment was unfortunately the Red Wedding and he was constantly overshadowed by Kit Harington’s Jon Snow.
Overview:
Alright so to sum up, yes for fans of Kit Harington who aren’t comic-book fans it may be a kicker for them to know he is going to portray a character not many people know. However, considering where Harington is in his career, a small role in an ensemble superhero movie may be the best he is expected to get.
Do I feel he could have been in a better role? Yes, but I am not going to cry about it and instead just appreciate the fact that he is in a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie.
Also, I have to say, with all the attention and hate that this announcement has received, it has taken away from the rest of the news surrounding the Eternals movie during the D23 Expo panel.
Tumblr media
Not only did we have reveals of how these actors will look in their costumes, but also the announcement that Gemma Chan is also a new addition to the movie...the big news there being she isn’t reprising her role as Minn-Erva from Captain Marvel but instead portraying Sersi who many fans originally believed Angelina Jolie was signing up to portray before she became Thena who is the cousin of Thanos.
On a side note, as a Brit myself I have to say, I love the fact that the MCU has such a strong representation not only of British talent but also transforming TV actors into movie level stars. Not only with Karen Gillan as Nebula but now Gemma Chan, Richard Madden and Kit Harington. It does actually fill me with some patriotic pride and nothing really does that for me.
As I said before, the MCU was built on the foundation of either B/C-List heroes taking centre stage or the inclusion of big names in smaller roles to make the smaller roles big. So rather than hating on the fact that Kit Harington isn’t at the centre of the action this time around, enjoy and endorse his appearance in the upcoming movie so that he possibly has a more prominent role in the future of the MCU.
So those are my thoughts on Kit Harington being cast as Black Knight, what do you guys think? Post your comments and check out more D23 Dissects as well as other posts.

TITLE:              Still Waters
AUTHOR:          Infernalitae FANDOM:         Friday the 13th, movies.     Hence why I’m posting this on Friday, December 13th. I totally planned this...at the last minute. RATING:            M (no smut yet but I’m eagerly a-waitin’ for it.) PAIRING(S):      Jason Voorhees/OFC FOUND ON:      FFNet, AO3 (AO3 has pictures with each chapter)
DEETS:  Mild spoilers. This story has everything I look for in fanfiction. To start with, the basics: Spelling/Grammar/formatting/punctuation are all on-point, or mistakes are sparse enough I haven’t noticed any yet. (It takes maybe one mistake per chapter or something for me to miss those, or I have to get so sucked in by the story I won’t even notice smoke alarms going off. It’s happened.) Syntax is creative and widely varied, there are plenty of music and culture references to chew on, and there’s enough well-chosen purple prose to make me want to hold up a lighter and sway in place like a stoner at a Grateful Dead concert. ...yes, I’ve managed to refrain so far. No promises I’ll always refrain. This writer is KILLING IT, here, and I’m loving every sentence! They reportedly went to school for writing and it freakin’ shows. I just about cried when I found out this was their only published story on either site. The OC is well-rounded, believable, and in full possession of her faculties and a functional (if eventually more flexible) moral compass. The romantic connection is NOT rushed in the slightest - it’s dragged out every step of the way - and sexual tension is not used as a substitute for romantic interest and emotional connection. S.L.O.W. burn here, folks, and it’s a Work in Progress. Face it. It’s easy to say “I’d hit that” when talking about a fictional anti-hero with biceps like trees and issues out the ass, but given the chance, most of us would reach for the mace and run away shrieking like ninnies. That is, after all, the rational response to running into an armed person covered in blood, guts, and grey matter. The OC, Whitney, behaves more rationally than the average horny fan. She overthinks things. She broods. She second-guesses herself, has mood-swings, makes mistakes, she fucks up royally, she does and says things that sounded better in her head, and sometimes she makes absolutely no sense, because that’s how people are. She endlessly debates between right and wrong, between hormones and Stockholm Syndrome, and between heart and mind. She never approves of Jason’s killing sprees (I mean, come on, people seriously think approval is a healthy reaction to finding out someone put a machete through your boyfriend’s skull?) and she’s spent a great deal of time silently assessing his mental and emotional capacity and acting accordingly. Nope, no pedo-squick here, yay! (- because pairing a mentally challenged adult with someone who literally baby-talks to them is just...I mean...ew. Just ew. The very idea makes me want to bathe in bleach.) I strongly suspect when the sparks finally start flying between these two (as opposed to simmering under the surface) we’ll see one of two scenarios: He’ll make the first move purely out of instinct and she’ll swallow her tongue from surprise, or she’ll finally lose control, think “OhshitIbrokehim,” and swallow her tongue when he reciprocates. Either way, she’s totally gonna choke on her own tongue and I’m gonna need popcorn. FYI, the most recently-posted chapter, Six Feet Under, is going to go on my headstone as cause of death should I kick the bucket in the next seven days. I don’t know how else to put it, the story is just that awesome.
WARNINGS: First off, let me make something clear. Being a small fandom, there are far more bog-awful Friday the 13th fics than there are good ones. (No, I’m not naming names of bog-awful ones, you’ll have to find them yourself.) Naturally, I went into Still Waters expecting something like that manky majority or, if I was lucky, something at least halfway decent. When a fandom is small enough, your normal standards tend to...eh...lower...just so you have reading material. Most stories I’ve found before have absurd middle-school-drama plots, paper-thin OCs, excessive glorification of senseless violence, and frankly shitty spelling and grammar. The worst have squick-twigging childlike Jason/creepy adult pairings that poke my gag reflex; some even have pedo-flavored smut that makes me run away screaming and craving the taste of soap to wash away the bile. They literally make me throw up a little in my mouth. There are some absolute HORRORS in this fandom. Again, I’m not naming names.
THIS story, while not disgusting, does need some warnings. Obviously there’s violence - sometimes graphic, sometimes less graphic - and other topics common to the movies. (meaning references to drugs, sex, drinking, asshole boyfriends, bullying, and some cursing, etc) There’s occasional disturbing imagery, mostly regarding injuries and environmental hazards. The toughest bit to chew on is what drives the first part of the story, plot-wise: Whitney coming to trust, accept, and even, perhaps, fall in love with, the hockey-masked hooligan we all know by heart. It’s gritty and bloody, and there are a lot of moments where you can almost feel your own moral compass wavering according to the plot. Angst, some horror, (I mean, you’ve gotta expect that much) some suggestive content, controversial topics, etc. Hopefully we’ll get some smut in the future, or at least some fade-to-black limes. Basically, if the idea of the story, pairing, or fandom squicks you, don’t read it; if you read and you’re squicked beyond recovery, back out and find something else to read, you were warned.
RECOMMENDATION LEVEL: 10/10. Yes. Ten. out. of. farkin’. TEN. It DOES exist! THIS is the kind of fan-writing that gets a perfect rating from my picky self. Seriously, I can’t find a single thing to complain about in this other than I’m impatiently waiting for new chapters. I’ve laughed, I’ve cried, I’ve bitten my nails, I’ve argued with the characters while reading on the bus and looked like a nutcase, the works. (Yes. I’ve literally bitched at the characters while reading on the bus. I’m probably on a list now. In my defense it was an intense chapter and I was immersed to the scalp. Worth it.)
Just read it. Seriously, just read it.

Author Interview: holylangdon
If you’re into sexy characters with questionable levels of morality (and who isn’t?), look no further than the fanfiction of @holylangdon. She writes American Horror Story fanfiction, mostly about son of Satan Michael Langdon, in case you couldn’t tell from the name. We’re excited that she took some time out of this busy and spooky month to talk to us about writing!
Tumblr media
How did you start writing fanfiction?
I think I wrote my first real fanfiction piece around mid-2016, and to be honest, it was just purely out of boredom. I remember making my account on Wattpad and beginning to draft the fic. It was a terribly rainy afternoon and I was home alone. I had read some fanfiction earlier that day and got a little idea that I actually really liked, and I had nothing better to do, so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to just write a little bit of it down.
Over the next few weeks, that somehow evolved into a 20-something chapter AU fic about Luke Hemmings from 5 Seconds of Summer and a ghost girl [...] It actually (much to my surprise) got somewhat popular there for a little while, although, in hindsight, it was pretty awful. I think I have it saved on my old account there, but I haven’t looked at it since I took it down later that year, so I really don’t remember the plot at all. It was called “Figment,” though.
Anyway, I  think it’s safe to say I’ve always had a bit of a flair for the paranormal, haha.
What about American Horror Story made you want to write fanfiction for it?
Good question! I think there are a couple main reasons, actually. I saw the Murder House & Coven seasons first, and I was pretty much instantly sold on all of it. It’s spooky, has a wide supernatural aspect to it. It’s also pretty dramatic and for the most part, it’s well-written. Most of the characters are very solid, the cast of actors and actresses portraying them are nicely chosen, and they characters themselves usually pretty nicely developed throughout each season. It just felt right to at least give it a shot, and then I fell down the rabbit hole.
What is your writing process like? Do you do a lot of planning and/or outlining? Do you write with music or TV on in the background?
I’m not really sure I have any real, legitimate process, to be honest. Usually when I feel like writing, I’ll go through the requests submitted by some of my followers first and see if anything jumps out. Most of the time I can piece together a few and make something nice out of them. If nothing seems appealing, then there’s pretty much always something else lurking around in my head. I always have a ton of fic ideas that I like and want to write, but never actually do, haha. And occasionally, I get one that just sticks, and won’t leave me alone until I sit down and write it. In fact, I’m actually working on one of those with the help of a close friend at the moment!
Kind of the same thing with outlining and planning. If it’s a requested fic, I’ll kind of just go with the flow and revise the little things as I write. But if it’s something of my own, like a longer, more detailed fic, I’ll definitely open up the notes app on my phone and jot down some ideas. Mostly quotes or lines that I’ve thought of and want to incorporate, ideas and talking points for it. I’m known to get distracted when I write, and having that note to reference is always nice and helps pull me back on track.
As for any sound in the background, it always depends on the fic itself. Never any TV, because I know I’ll probably get sidetracked and end up watching it instead of writing. But I always have some kind of music playing, even when I’m not doing any writing. If I’m creating something that I want to have a specific feeling, like some angst or something fluffy, I’ll put on something specific on to match what mood I want it to have. I’ve noticed that it’s usually sad, piano-heavy music or soft, acoustic versions of songs, respectively. If there’s no specific mood that I’m going for, I tend to just play some Hozier or Lewis Capaldi or something similar. Dermot Kennedy, too. Just calm, easy listening.
American Horror Story is an interesting show to write for because there’s a new story each season, and the actors usually play different characters each season. Does that affect your fanfiction at all? Why or why not?
Not really. I love having a fresh set of characters every season, regardless of who’s playing them! The more, the merrier!
How do you choose which characters to write for? What traits really make you want to write about a character?
I’ll write for almost any character, really. I love to challenge myself and find things that feel “new” to me. So if someone has a specific person in mind that they’d like to see something for, I’ll pretty much always give it a shot. There aren’t very many characters that I just flat out don’t write for, and they’re usually one of two things-- I either have difficulties getting their character just right and end up not liking what I’ve created, so I scrap it (Kai Anderson is a big one for me for this), or I just don’t like them and find myself uncomfortable writing for them. I wouldn’t really say there are any traits that 100% will make me write for a character, it’s just a sort of an organic attraction to them, I think. Hopefully that makes sense, haha.
You write series, one-shots, and headcanons. Do you have a favorite type of writing, or does that just depend on the story idea and your mood?
I would definitely say that it depends on how I’m feeling in general, and what I think looks best for the idea I’m working with. More often than not, ideas that wouldn’t be enough to make a good one shot or fic are simple enough to be condensed into a set of headcanons, or, conversely, something that I think will make a good series just isn’t enough and ends up being made into another thing. It’s a really flexible process, honestly, but occasionally I’ll get too ambitious and make a fic that ends up being the better half of 10k words long, so I’ll split it down into multiple parts for easier reading. That’s how my Love, Michael series came to be!
American Horror Story deals with a lot of controversial themes, so a lot of the characters are naturally controversial. Do you enjoy this aspect of writing in the fandom?
Surprisingly, yes. I feel like a lot of people would say no, but I definitely do, to an extent. There are a few characters that are a little too far out there for me to write for, personally, but it’s always very interesting to see how other fic writers tackle them, and vice versa. I like experimenting and playing around with different themes and situations and such, so I’m also pretty glad that we have a very, very wide range of characters to write with in terms of things that may typically be considered too taboo or controversial.
How do you come up with your story ideas?
As I said earlier, a lot of the time it’s just putting requests together and filling in the blanks or my crazy little whim ideas. Some of my friends are really amazing at helping me with fics, though. Whenever I’m running low on inspiration or ideas, they always come through and help me out. So, so many of my ideas have been inspired by them. Seriously, they’re pretty much honorary fic writers at this point, they’re just amazing. But whenever it’s not them helping me or either of the aforementioned things, it’s probably inspired or based on a song I’ve been listening to lately.
(P.S., I know the three of you are reading this! I love you guys! <3)
If you had to explain fanfiction to someone who didn’t know anything about it in one paragraph, what would you say?
Oh, I’m really horrible at explaining things […] I guess I’d say it’s a whole bunch of people having fun together & creating interesting, fun, sometimes very questionable content, usually in the written form, on the internet with characters from shows and movies that they like. Practically anything you can think of, I can guarantee there’s fanfiction of it somewhere. Everything exists somewhere. Hopefully that would do.
Is there any plot line American Horror Story hasn’t covered yet that you’d like to see in an upcoming season? Why?
Ooh! I love this question! I was really excited for a slasher/summer camp season like 1984. I love slasher films, and summer camps are always a good setting for something like that. Plus, the eighties are pretty fun. I’m very happy that they used that idea.
All in all, I think a wasteland-themed season could be interesting. I love thinking about the end of the world and what it would be like, and in Apocalypse, the world is made into a barren, horrifying wasteland filled with radiation and rubble with only a handful of survivors.
At one point in the season, Michael Langdon tells a story of a woman and her child covered in lesions as a result of their exposure to the nuclear fallout from the bombs, and at another, we see a small group of people above ground. A season focused on survivors of a situation like that has a lot of potential, in my opinion. I haven’t seen this idea mentioned a lot and the whole apocalyptic thing seems to be over with (for now?), so it probably won’t ever happen, but it’s definitely something to think about!

Note
Do you have any “weirdly strong” opinions about things that don’t really matter?
Oh, of course! For instance, I firmly believe that humanity has left such an impact on Earth that in millions of years, there will be distinct stratigraphic markers from our species. Future peoples will be able to point to formations created from the deposits we left behind as it's own distinct time in geological history. This hypothetical epoch is known in our discussions as the Anthropocene.
Tumblr media
There's this big ol' controversy about the Anthropocene that's just fascinating. After all, what makes us so special to have a distinct epoch from the Holocene? And if such an Anthropocene would exist, when would it begin? The first agricultural revolution or the industrial revolution? The 50's with nuclear testing and increased manufacturing or perhaps some other point in history?
While I suppose you could argue that this has to deal with Climate Change, this is nowhere near as important as our response to it. After all, we've already locked in 1°C increase, even if we completely stopped greenhouse gas emissions today. That alone is going to show up with transgressive seas, permafrost and glacier loss, and distinctive geochemical markers. Yet this doesn't even include the effects of deforestation and increasing wildfire, damming and other infrastructure, a sixth mass extinction event, and other conditions in this ever connected and complicated global system. While we can reduce our impact and perhaps see our species survive into the next century, it's hard to imagine that all of this won't be evident in the future.
We also won't be able to study this formation. We'll all be dead by thousands, if not millions, of years by the time everything lithifies. So I won't be able to see what our lives have accumulated up as rock-wise, but at least we have the present record and the ability to get our shite together.
Hopefully this wasn't too depressing, @shuuhuu! Thank you for letting me rant!
