alright so Crassus is a weird guy, existentially. There’s a tendency to speculate, assign, and insert him into whatever places are conspiratorial and shadowy because he fits into those narrative places with ease. My personal favorite (aside from all of it) is the idea that he may have pulled strings wrt to Sulla and Caesar’s conflict to help get Caesar out of it.

In the universe that exists in my head, he definitely had a hand in it, but he didn’t really intend for Caesar to figure out he played a part in it, but Caesar’s good at puzzles, and noticing someone goes both ways. Binding someone to yourself goes both ways.

Crassus: The First Tycoon, Peter Stothard

This scene takes place sometime relatively soon after Sulla’s death. Crassus has complicated feelings about it, Caesar less so. Veni, vidi, vici, baby!

I would rather the French ban hijabs than drag and the ménage à trois. You wouldn't see a gay kissing threesome or drag queens in the opening ceremony if the Olympics were held in an Islamic country. (Not that that has ever happened or would ever happen. There are too many laws in Islamic countries about women participating in sports, what they can wear, who they can associate with. I recall the Saudi crown prince suggesting that the Olympics could be hosted by Saudi Arabia if the women's competitions were held in Bahrain. The IOC, obviously, declined.)

If it would never happen, why bring it up? I wasn't talking about Islamic countries, I was talking about France. I don't want France (or any nation) to be theocracy, I want French people (and everyone else) to wear whatever they want.

These aren't either/or issues. You don't have to ban hijabis or LGBTQ people. If you look at my blog for two seconds, you'll see I'm a religious queer person who veils and has a relationship with Allah. I want freedom for both my communities. I hesitate to say both and make it sound like a dichotomy here, my community is religious queer people.

Veiling for me, provides protection. I don't often feel safe as a queer agoraphobe, until I put on a headscarf. It's not a miracle cure, but it alleviates enough of the fear for me to be able to go outside a little. Please, if you are gay, LGBTQ, please, support your whole community, not just non-muslims.
