This is possibly one of my favourites most likely IS the best fan fiction I’ve read of anything it’s amazing! I’m just about to read part 8 and I just wanted to ask:

What are you’re top 3 Elvis songs or songs you may listen to when writing this?

Ahhhh, I LOVE this ask because I'm a bit of a music nerd and I really had to think about it. (Also, the fact that I'm at the top of anyone's fanfic list boggles my mind--thank you so much, honey! 💗)

Okay, okay, so here's my thing--I can't listen to songs while I write, but I DEFINITELY get inspired by them and have them on repeat for a thousand years. I currently have several on my repeat playlist, but if i have to narrow them down for Pink Scarf in particular, they would be (I've linked the specific versions below for your viewing/listening pleasure!):

Power of My Love (1969): This my number one for this series, no question. Besides the accuracy of the lyrics, it's sexy as hell, punchy, bluesy, and you can literally HEAR the cockiness in his voice and i just CANNOT. It's hot. It's perfect. I've gone on and on about it before, so I won't go crazy here, but yes. This is it.

One Night With You ('68 Special, second sit down session): If you listen to the lyrics, this one is pretty self-explanatory, but this one is particularly about how he sings this specific version. The man has sex and seduction OOZING out of his pores in this performance (He's so sexy here I'm pretty sure everyone in that audience is pregnant. Hell, it's 54 years later and I'm falling apart over it!), yet somehow, there's still an element of sweetness and humor there. I absolutely LOVE the raw grit and power in his voice during the '68-'70 era and think it really adds to the overall vibe of the song. It's definitely an inspiration in terms of getting into him as a character.

Just Pretend (That's the Way It Is 1970, midnight show): This one isn't 100% lyrically accurate to the story, but it's close enough for me. I think this is one of his most underrated songs/performances because he makes this song sound easy and it is not at all an easy song to sing. It is just such a good ballad and really showcases his artistry as a vocalist. But the moody feeling of this performance just speaks to me in terms of the story. (I'm gonna get a little nerdy as a vocalist here, sorry!) He's telling a story, and reflects that with his vocal dynamics so well--soft to loud, keeping it light and easy one minute then really digging into his baritone (belting high in his upper register in chest voice!!). That vibrato is *chef's kiss* His phrasing is phenomenal. His voice is really starting to develop maturity and control in 1970 and maintaining some of that youthfulness (which I love), without being super heavy (like he gets in the later '70s).

Honorable Mentions: It's Now or Never (1960) (for the young!elvis/the years of pining on his end, and it shows off his vocal range so well) and Craw-Fever from the movie soundtrack (it's seductive as all hell).

Don't mind me but I'm rambling. I'm gonna yell about this here cuz it is my fandom blog and that's what it's for.

Man, The Boys is the perfect example of seeing a comic, seeing the potential, and gutting it for something better. I used to be a fan of Garth Ennis, I used to say he was the kind of writer that could balance edgy in a fun way that wasn't too much, but after revisiting his work I'm like....very unimpressed. And I feel as he keeps releasing series they keep getting worse 😬 I can't say this on FB because some of my male friends hold it in high regards(lots of them read it as angry edgy teens) but Preacher? Kinda a super shit comic. I genuinely think the show was attempting something better by polishing up the core concept (also the casting? Chefs kiss). I liked The Boys. I own The Boys. But the show is a fantastic example of how a comic adaptation does not need to be faithful. I think they made the characters a lot more engaging, they kept the graphic violence but I'm not rolling my eyes at it, and made the overall plot more of an arc versus the previous baddie hero of the week style that made it feel disjointed. And it's nice not to be able to expect what is going to happen next, not like how some shows throw it in a new direction solely to fuck with you versus genuinely interesting. They still sprinkle tons of comic stuff nicely in the show (my friend and I screamed at love sausage). I think the timing of the show is excellent in both that there is a corporate superhero burnout with so many movies and shows being churned out (often playing it too safe where money > interesting) and also reflecting irl events in an eerie but clever way. The whole comic and show is assholes, and I'm thrilled to love to hate them. I couldn't even do much of a reread because it's just not that good to me anymore. Absolutely crazy that Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg read those two comics by Ennis and were like yeah, let's do this.

I feel the same way about Mark Millar though. I cannot stand his comics, I feel like he's pretty good with coming up with a concept but someone always executes it better on his behalf. Kingsman? Kick ass? Wanted? All superior to the comics. I think red son and jupiter's legacy are ones I did like, but I am very interested to see how netflix (?) Does jupiter's legacy in the wake of the boys. Not quite the same, but an edgy superhero series I highly expect people to make a comparison. It's about children of superheros that are struggling to live in their shadows. Drugs, sex, violence, drama.

On the other hand, I am screaming about the Invincible adaptation. IM SO FUCKING EXCITED. Invincible is in my top favorite comics, it got me INTO comics, and I always thought it was vastly superior to Kirkmans famous work Walking Dead. This I do hope sticks close to the comics (though maybe slightly better writing for women characters haha). I already know exactly what they're doing for the first arc and I really really hope we can get further than that because the series gets so fucking WILD. Insane all of the merch and now a show we are getting after the series ends. It's also super long for a western comic series at like 26 trades I think. I hope the show is a success for multiple reasons.

With the old guards success, I hope amazon finally does something with the rights they bought to Lazarus a few years ago. Greg Rucka is truly one of the best comic writers out there and that series is perfect for tv. Which reminds me I need to watch stumptown cuz I just bought the comic to reread and it's so good!!!!

And y the last man finally has its feet on the ground after being in development hell for like 10 years. Brian k vaughn writes the most human characters out there. And also paper girls is gonna be a series!!!! Fucking hell yeah!!! Hopefully it catches people attention as stranger things did. It's gonna be fun. And I hope saga never gets adapted. I truly think nothing will be able to capture it. Leave it as is.

And I'm still sad Chew ended up falling into development hell. Originally showtime wanted to use to to replace Dexter as that ended as their new bloody crime show, then it fell to an animated series which is better imo to pair with how weird it is and showcase the art style but I think the last I heard of it it was pretty much not happening. Especially since iZombie got surprising amount of traction and I guess they expected it to be too similar.

I'm also still bitter about Deadly Class's cancellation. I had a lot of potential. Great cast, good cinematography. It's such a fun tragic comic.

Locke&key was alright, it's such a good horror comic but I wouldn't be able to tell you what would have made the show better. Something didn't quite click for me.

I'm kinda really burnt out on marvel/dc. I don't think either is impressing me lately besides scattered things. I don't think I'm excited for any of the disney+ shows besides falcon+winter soldier and even then expectations are tentatively low. Maybe wandavision? I didn't give a shit about them in the movies but it's heavily based on a run of comics I did enjoy so I'm wary. I know only care about Hawkeye for Kate and she-hulk for the actress. Though I've been having a surprising amount of fun watching Doom Patrol and I enjoyed swamp thing. It's weird. It embraces that weird. There's something I feel like Umbrella Academy is missing it could learn from doom Patrol. Like ua still feels like it played it a bit safe. Idk. Haven't finished it because I'm not as motivated to.

And Faith?? Is gonna get a movie??? A plus size hero??? AHHHH. I have my first issue signed by the author I met at comic con a few years ago.

I just read nailbiter is gonna be a series so that's gonna be bloody and violent and full of serial killers lmao. The ending of that comic got a little ??? For me but I own the whole series so i guess that says something.

What a time to be a comics fan!!! We are so fucking spoiled lmao and there's still sooo many untapped series. I think Criminal would make a fantastic live action drama show. Who does like Intricate crimes and heists and overlapping stories And wic+div would make a stellar show especially if they really had fun with the music. And so many comics I like would make amazing animated series like pretty deadly, or chew, rocket girl. Haunt is another Kirkmans series that has potential to be a fun gritty superhero violent adaptation. Except the ectoplasma attacks haunt has looks like violent jizz sometimes. Idk. Like, URGHHHHHHH. Gimme gimme gimme more comic stuff.

And there's so many good things I'm not even aware it was a comic initially.

Old comic shit is good too. I've been rewatching the Spawn series. Adult animated superhero stuff is seriously underrated. The tank girl movie is FUN. ROCKETEEEEER!!!!! Disney was supposed to do a remake with a black girl. What happened to that?

I dislike all the cw shows though lmao too cheesy. Also why I can't get into agents of shield though I tried for Robbie.

hey! i saw you on naamahdarling's post about therapists and was just wondering what sort of education program you went through? i've decided i want to become a therapist and am taking prereq classes for grad school applications, and i'm just a bit overwhelmed by all the options out there. :O my dream is to go into a program that does both art therapy and clinical counseling, but even outside of that, there's a lot to choose from and ahhhh. thanks in advance if you have thoughts!!

Hello!

I should first mention that I went the roundabout way and didn’t start grad school until later in life. I loved my undergrad Psych classes so much, I ended up tacking on Psychology as a minor. However, after college, I went through a Recession, a cross country move, a huge personal breakdown, and years of my own therapy.

When I finally realized I actually did want to be a therapist, I was already working full time in another field. I needed to keep working so that limited my options to schools that offered weekend and evening classes. I chose my program based on that criteria and based on the fact that the school was very LGBTQ+ friendly. It was also very Psychodynamic in focus, which fits my own preferences (though I’ve also developed a great appreciation for DBT). It would have been a two year program but in order to keep my sanity, I couldn’t always keep a full class load so I finished in 3.

I got my MA in Psychology with a focus in Counseling and 300+ hours started toward an LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist). After graduation, I registered with the Board of Behavioral Science to become an Associate (used to be called Intern). It takes 3000 total hours of experience - including 500 specifically with couples, families, or children - in order to get licensed. I also had to take a Law and Ethics exam after graduation. Now that my hours are complete, I submitted them for approval and will hopefully get permission to take the final licensing exam in the next couple months. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Now, this is all state-specific for CA so I can’t tell you exactly what other programs might entail. LMFT is the license I’m getting because it’s what my school offered and I LOVED my school. The other options out here are LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor) and LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker).

Any of these licenses can be used to practice therapy. An LCSW, to my knowledge, will get more education on community resources and brief therapy because Social Work tends to focus on helping with the immediate crisis and then reintegrating the individual back into society. LPCC and LMFT tend to get more training on longer term individual and family therapy. An LPCC, to my knowledge, would tend to specialize more in diagnosis and treatment of the individual and (unless something has changed) they cannot start accumulating their 3000 hours until after graduation.

LMFT specializes in interpersonal treatment with a focus on our ability to work with families/couples as well as the individual. We start our hours before graduation and continue them after. We can do short term/brief therapy and crisis counseling, too. Just like an LCSW can do longer term one on one therapy.

Since you specifically mentioned wanting to do art therapy, I’d start with that when it comes to looking for grad schools. Is there one with a specific focus on art? If you find a school you love that doesn’t have that specific focus - that’s ok. You can always add on, later. Even once licensed, therapists have to take Continuing Education classes yearly. So, you might find a certification program in Art Therapy later. I intend to get certified in several specialized areas when I can afford it.

You’ll generally need to complete an amount of hands-on experience hours while you’re in grad school in order to graduate. Depending on what your school offers, you can look for a site that may be open to training you in Art therapy.

Here is where it might make a difference if you go for a Masters in Social Work versus a Masters in Psychology. From what I know, most Social Work programs only have very specific training sites where you can work while you’re in school. The upside of the Social Work degree is that you start working hands-on faster, you get more hours accumulated right away, and you’re more likely to get paid as an intern. The downside is the limitation of where you’ll work and having less control over the focus of what you do while in school (again, this is to the best of my knowledge based on the stories of friends in social work).

As an LMFT, I got to choose my site and I ended up really, really happy with the decision I made. Some of my friends were not so lucky and were very happy when their in-school hours were done so they could leave.

I know I just wrote an entire novel that may not have actually given you a lot of answers. 😬Basically, my greatest advice would be to weigh your options carefully and choose what feels right. If you like your school, you will automatically make the most of the experience. If you enjoy the site where you’re working, you will learn and grow there.

Some questions to ask yourself:

Am I staying in state? If not, where would I be comfortable living for the next few years?

Will I be working full time while in school?

Do I have a favorite modality? (Psychodynamic, CBT, etc.)

What other focuses are important to me? (Trauma, LGBTQ, etc.)

How much debt am I comfortable taking on?

XD Um but also…hoarding all the interesting littlecurios she has collected in her attic maybe? I don’t know that Lottie honestlyfeels guilty about any of that.

35. What are they like as a friend?

Lottie is agreat conversationalist, because she likes to talk but especially likes tonudge her friends into talking so she can learn from their stories. She is alsoa great storyteller! Depending on her friend’s personality, all that chatter canget annoying, though. But if she finds someone *coughAdicough* with sharedinterests, she will enthusiastically delve into those interests with them! Andfor those she knows best (Xipil especially, that twin bond) she has a knack foranticipating their thoughts/ideas, figuring out what they’re getting at even ifthey have a hard time expressing it. (Well, that’s mostly just Xipil, but Lottiewith an introverted friend is likely to develop the same knack. She’s observantand good at putting clues together, except not always savvy to the social cuesfor when she’s annoying someone with her exuberance.)

Ahhhh it wouldbe great if I knew more VAs than just the CritRole cast… XD Um the purple HawkeVA would probably work great for her since that was pretty much where I startedin developing Lenni’s personality when I started her playthrough?

None that I’vedrawn/written her with so far, but getting piercings and/or a tattoo would behighly likely for her!

39. Your character walks into a cafe. What do they order?

The sweetestthing possible! Probably caramel apple spice something or other, or somethinglike that? I avoid drinking my carbs as much as possible so I have very littleexperience in the kind of sugary drinks Lenni would crave!

42. What’s the dumbest thing your character’s done?

Oh Lenni. She has done a lot of dumb things in her time, afterall, but she does not let that stop her! Hm…probably getting scammed by a conartist herself back when she was first orphaned, which in turn led to her tryingto run scams of her own, which sometimes worked out and often did not, it was alot of trial and error and getting run out of towns that got wise to herschemes. She always just tries again in a new town though! Which is either veryresilient of her or…continuing to try to con people when it’s clearly notworking out might actually be the dumbest thing she’s done. XD

For Dal:

14. Can they cook? Can they bake?

Indeed she can!(Vi would be jealous, probably.) Most of the skills I picked for her werepretty domestic – she’ll be much happier settling down with her family inIxamitl than adventuring, that’s for sure – and cooking was rank 3 or 5 Ithink? Dal is happiest when occupied with tasks that make her feel helpful, andgravitated to kitchen tasks pretty early on (along with thegardening/herbalism, because she enjoyed seeing what she could do with theherbs she was growing) and has developed into a pretty intuitive cook.

19. Hobbies

Well, thecooking and the gardening of course. Reading, sometimes. She’s watched Siofraknit often enough but never got around to learning it from her, alas. She willattempt to learn embroidery in Ixamitl but that may not go any better than Vi’smuffins…

33. How have they changed over time?

As far as my ideaof her, she was originally supposed to be older, a bit more jaded, actuallycapable of intimidation via divine glow (I put intimidation on her skill listbut it ended up so way out of character I only tried once to use it, and thatwas after she was ex-godlike and also was an attempt against Yarrow so ofcourse it didn’t work XD), and nowhere near the skittish little sweetheart sheended up being. As far as her actual character development in game, she has hadto…confront a lot of things she took for granted and decide what really mattersmost to her? And navigate dilemmas where her innately extreme honesty may notalways be the best policy? Basically she’s scarred for life, really, buthopefully comes out of it all stronger in the end…

37. Do they have any phobias?

I mean she’s abit scared of everything out in the real world so far but I don’t know if that’sa phobia as much as excess caution from a tiny girl in a big world. It’s morejust that so many things are new and unfamiliar to her, rather than actualphobias. I have yet to identify actual phobias for her…She probably did have afear of public speaking but at some point she gained some ranks in Oratory (she’sa priest, come on, she’s gotta do sermons sometime) so she has worked her waypast that fear to some extent.

51. What were some inspirations for your character (people,movies, games)?

Uhhhh…wellmostly the reason for her being so quiet and hesitant about everything is thatthis was Ranna’s first time in a ttrpg and I was slow to figure out how to roleplay. :-D My next character will hopefully be a little more decisive? Otherthan that, the inspiration for Dal was mostly just looking at the rpg guide andseeing “Dawn Godlike” and going “YES I WANT THAT” and also I apparently can’tnot play an orlan if orlan is an option. (I’ll probably be a LK orlan in thenext campaign, of course XD)

46. If this character was in a musical, what would their motifbe (what kind of instruments do you hear, what’s the tempo, etc).

So uh this question may have prompted me to dig out my Noteworthy Composer CD and install it again since it turns out I hadn’t done that yet since the last computer upgrade. :-D I had some plans to try to show-not-tell the answer for this one by putting together a little midi motif for each of them, but then…I found some of my old compositions (like, this was 20 years ago in college, I am Old) and actually…

This one is a pretty good Dal theme! For her I wanted something sort of mellow, sweet, and slightly melancholy, not a whole lot of variation (she thrives in routine, day-to-day domestic life, not this harrowing adventuring business) and it turns out my Winter theme works for that.

And this dance tune works for Lottie! Cheerful, and also - it’s in 7/4 time. We can’t have something too simple for a chanter that clever! And it’s sort of a balladic melody too, also very chanter-suitable.

I’ll have to actually compose something for Lenni though, didn’t find any in the old files that work for her! Something a bit jazzy probably…we’ll see…

- folks who’ve turned your volume up to listen to Jared should probably turn it down at around 20.50. You’ll know because Jon will do that thing where he asks if something that’s obviously going to hurt will hurt.

Commodore OS linux [Not much info; is a indie fork of ubuntu] (If you happen to search hard, far online threw search engines, you can locate and find commodore OS vision linux, it mostly a beta you burn to two dvds, one disc is needed for the OS. You will need a second disc for extra data files which are required to run commodore os properly. PS: you might want to try bittorrent will looking as well. Commodore os was a great OS wile it was up in the late 2000s in years, after writing this log, hope some this info helps.Linux lite [This is another attempt at ubuntu fork from newzealand] (This is a beta I tested 5/31/2014) Not much to say is lite version of ubuntu, made ver well in unstable at the moment as most of these forks of ubuntu comming out, like most forks, lite is no diffrent needs more time to develope or become stable. DreamStudio Linux [This is a ubuntu for from canada] DreamStudio 12.04.3 was a short lived, ubuntu graphical fork, it was belted up to look as a midnight graphical visual front, had many ubuntu-studio forks inside the guts, have not tested it long, as it was not around very long, it had a dark personality in pretty purple-blue sort of way when you think of pretty-violet colours. Basically take ubuntu studio and slap the visual splash screen and effects, background for prettying up in a canadian fasion. WattOS: R7.5 [This is a economy minimalist fork strip of ubuntu] There was not much to test on watt-OS Ver:R7.5 because after install and update it imediatly crashed, however, will test more versions in the future (Sad really) Blag-Linux-OS 140 | Year 2012 [Blag-OS is a England,UK fork of fedora] Ver:140 had a ball with this one, loved the splash screen,it is another OS at the time without much internet compatability, from this version 140 it was spactacular fork. SKAM Austin Season 2 Episode 1 Recap

Faking a boyfriend means one thing, guys. A girl is not into you.

Basically Seniors

Great song to open up the season. ‘Lipgloss’ is very upbeat and catchy.

But I‘ll be honest. I seriously thought I was watching an ad for about 30 seconds before I realized it was the opening to the clip.

Tyler is gay! SKAM Austin finally confirmed our suspicions and I am so happy. Nice twist in having Tyler being the one kissing someone instead of Shay. Really highlights how they are both kind of the Isak character of this show (though I’m pretty sure it will be Shay who has the next season).

Aww. Zoya helping Jo with her sweater head scarf. They are so cute together.

So, Kelsey finally became a Kitten. Good for her, I guess. She actually looks really good; longer hair suits her.

I really like how they are introducing Grace (Noora) being on the newspaper early on. That will definitely add depth later in the season when she is asked to write the article.

It has been a whole year since the Daniel debacle instead of just a few months like it was in OG. I wonder how that will affect the story line. I can understand more how Kelsey might have developed another crush on Daniel seeing as him shaming her happened so much longer ago.

Grace invented a boyfriend to get Daniel off her case. Daniel, if a girl has to invent a boyfriend in order to avoid you, you should take a hint and leave her alone.

Damn, he just stares at Grace for an uncomfortably long time while taking the selfie with Kelsey.

Not A Good Person

I love how Grace is dancing while she cooks. Great continuation of that moment when she danced to cheer Megan up last season.

Wow, Marlon actually says something worthwhile and accurate!

And then Megan ruins it. I’m sorry, but I am going to off on a bit of a tangent here: Saying things like “He keeps on pursuing her because she doesn’t want to be left alone” is so dangerous. Because how does a guy know if the girl is secretly into him? He doesn’t. And assuming things like that is not right. It basically gives men permission to do whatever they want to a woman under the guise of her secretly wanting it. I’m not an idiot; I know SKAM Austin is trying to set up how Grace actually does secretly like Daniel, but that is not the case for every situation. And saying things like “Maybe she doesn’t want to be left alone” as a broad generalization is very problematic. It promotes a male centered rape culture. It is a less harsh way of saying “She deserved to get raped because she was wearing revealing clothes” or saying “She wanted it, so it is OK.” And it is very much not OK. Whew, sorry. Just had to get that off my chest. I know SKAM Austin probably didn’t mean it like that, but putting that line into a season that will most likely deal with sexual assault was a poor choice on their part.

I got so excited that Grace might actually tell Kelsey what has been going on. Yeah, it would be a harsh blow, but it is way better than continuing to lie and deceive her. WHY did Megan advise Grace to not tell Kelsey about Daniel texting her????? It feels like Megan is giving some pretty shitty advice this season.

Ahhhh, Eskild’s a woman! I think her name is Eve. I don’t know why I didn’t realize this before. I mean, Shay is Isak. And Eskild was basically a fellow gay man mentor to Isak, so it makes sense they would change him into a lesbian in this remake.

Oh, and Grace was smiling when she saw those texts from Daniel. I honestly don’t know why. He was still a dick when we last saw him. Were they texting for the whole year, though?

Mostly Naked

Well, I really liked how they included a St. Patrick’s Day parade/festival into the show as that is most definitely a big thing in the U.S.

I kind of feel that Megan is way more into Marlon than previous Evas have been towards their respective Jonas’s. What with that tongue line in Clip 1 and her barging in on Marlon and that girl talking, that’s the vibe I get.

I know people are finding Kelsey really annoying this season and while I do agree some of her lines are outrageous (accusing Grace of not caring about her friends, really?), I can’t help but like her. She is just so cute!

Thank you, Zoya! She tried to shut Kelsey’s crush down so fast. If only she were successful. Sigh. On that note, I am already liking Zoya way more. Last season I thought she came off as rather abrasive without as much of Sana’s soft side. I hope they explore this soft side of Zoya more this season. I could find myself really enjoying a season of her.

Know-It-All

More Poonam! Yay!!! I love her so much. Her deadpan line about not wanting to associate with Grace was EVERYTHING.

Oh, Kelsey, why do you have these hopeless fantasies about Daniel. I feel so bad for her already.

David already seems cool. The brief moment when you thought he could be a potential love interest for Kelsey, and the crushing disappointment when you realized he was with Shay. Noooo! Though since next season, Shay will most likely come out as lesbian, we might see David become a love interest for Kelsey. Wasn’t the actor who played Magnus in OG named David? Please let this happen. Kelsey deserves a nice guy in her life who shares her love of ‘Hamilton’.

Who Is He?

I am literally Eve when anyone is baking cookies. I am really digging Eve so far. She seems way more calm and chill than other versions of Eskild. (I am looking at you, Mika from SKAM France).

‘Daniel Williamson’. Could you get a boy’s name that sound whiter?

Hmm, I think it is interesting how they introduced Daniel’s sister so early. I hope they dig into his backstory a bit more, you know, how he was affected by her death instead of just glossing over it like they did in OG. I think in OG they actually mentioned that his sister died in a car accident. I hope SKAM Austin isn’t as explicit, that way it comes as more of a shock later on.

Messed Up

Jo talking lovingly about her unibrow is all I want in life.

Oh, no. Kelsey exercising and refusing food? Not a good sign. I guess they are going to go into the eating disorder storyline. Also, how are beans bad for you?

Aw, Grace made the nachos with gluten-free chips specifically for Kelsey. And then offered to cook something else for Kelsey. If only Kelsey had taken her up on that offer.

Daniel calls Kelsey to get to Grace. Grace using the pre-calc excuse is way more believable than saying he needed someone’s number. Also, plenty of seniors take pre-calc. And not because they are bad at math.

I like that Daniel admitted his actions were messed up. BUT, dude, if you know what you are doing is messed up, then don’t do it. LEAVE GRACE ALONE! Hopefully, this admission of his points to him being less of a dick than William was, but we’ll see how the rest of the season plays out.

General Thoughts

This is the first season of any version of SKAM that I have watched live and it is a wild experience. I am on the edge of my seat, constantly checking to see if a new clip has come out. I now definitely understand how SKAM got so popular and addictive when it first aired. I thought this was a pretty strong start to the season. They were a few tweaks that really worked well, like Tyler’s confirmation of being gay (or bi, who knows?) and Eskild’s character being a woman. All in all, I think this remake has a very different vibe from OG Skam and I am excited to see where it heads.

Will is vaguely aware that there is a cramp in his legs, the fingers of his right hand hurt where Hannibal has gripped him too tightly, he is a mess, he hurts between his legs in places he cannot yet define properly and Hannibal - Hannibal is lying on top of him, making it hard to breathe, silently crying into Will’s neck. Will feels the best he can remember.

He carefully dislodges his left arm from Hannibal’s neck, dragging his fingers through the greying hair, petting. His legs drop and he winces, which seems to bring Hannibal back to himself. He raises his head, eyes bloodshot, his voice gravelly. “Will, I… I apologize.“

Will shakes his head slowly and places the fingers of his left hand against Hannibal’s lips. His gaze catches on the ring that Molly placed there and he realizes with a start that it has no place here in this bed. He feels more than sees Hannibal withdraw and quickly shakes his head again trying to placate and communicate his thoughts as clear as possible. “Take it off for me.“

Hannibal freezes above him. The look he levels at him does its best to make Will hard again but he really isn’t that young anymore. Will swallows. Hannibal slowly drags his right hand up at the side of Will‘s body, making him shiver. When he reaches his chest he follows his arm up until he reaches the hand that’s still raised between them. Slowly, very slowly Hannibal starts to push the ring off Will’s finger with his messy hand, never breaking his gaze. Hannibal encloses it in his hand when it’s off and carefully puts it on the nightstand at the other side of the bed. “What about it now?“

Hannibal’s voice is rough and Will knows that the answer he has isn’t what the question was about, but it is the only one he has to give. He tries to say it lightly, keeping his voice low. “Well, you took it from me. So, if we make this work, you’ll have to go and replace it.“

Something breaks in Hannibal’s gaze. There is light and darkness seeping into it in equal measure and it thrills Will to no end to see it. Hannibal’s voice is the roughest he has ever heard it, the accent strong. “I will not let you go, now.“

Will smiles. To everyone else, this would have been a threat. To Will, it’s the conclusion of a courtship that’s lasted six years. He’s been caught, and now he’s free. “Where do we go from here?“

Hannibal nuzzles into the Will’s neck, his words breathed onto sweaty skin. “How about we pay a visit to an old friend?“

The "Summer of Evolution" over, they meet their official match with new weapons in hand. "The audience always banishes our uncertainty" -- facing ever-new portrayals, the bond of the second years and the resolution of the first years!

Q: "Summer of Evolution" was a bit different from the other Haikyuu stage productions to date.

Shiota: Obviously we always have that "onward, onward" feeling each time, but this time it was mixed with uncertainty over "Will this actually work?" The show was created amidst that conflict. This is just a what-if, but now I really feel that if we were to restage Summer of Evolution we could go much much deeper. But we're on to the next!

Kawahara: Our audience understands that the Haikyuu troupe is always on the attack, and on top of that they enjoy every production… Although in rehearsal we may feel lost and uncertain, when you experience the audience's actual response, it makes you think, "the audience really banishes our uncertainty." I think that's why we're able to keep pushing forward even further.

Miura: What everyone said last time was that "this is the most 'theatrical' production so far." We challenged ourselves with showing the development of a story, something we couldn't just force our way past with intensity, but this time we've returned to an intensity-based style, so… It's rough. (laughter) It's rough for those of us on the bench, but even more so for those in the match, probably.

Q: "Summer of Evolution" also had Tsukishima and Yamaguchi confronting each other over their feelings.

Kosaka: I wonder how we should work off of that fight and the feelings that Tsukishima and Yamaguchi overcame… The Tsukishima before and the Tsukishima after "Summer of Evolution" are a little different, so that's still an issue for me, I think.

Q: Fuchino-san, the previous production was your first Engeki Haikyuu.

Fuchino: At first when we began rehearsals I was pretty bewildered. I was constantly relying on everyone else for help. What surprised me the most was Worry-san's rehearsal style. It felt like even when we were practicing our group choreography if you didn't add something of your own you'd go under… I'd honestly end up [just] being there, [just] doing what was decided. But I couldn't come up with my own ideas like everyone else, and then the real show began… Around the time we got to the Tokyo rerun, I finally felt like I'd gotten the feel of the Haikyuu troupe and started to fit in. So my goal this time is "to be relied on." We're bringing in new members, and I'd like to leave a strong impression, point-by-point. Plus, at last we're getting a close-up on Ennoshita, so I want to back him up right.

Q: Against Wakutani Minami (Wakunan). The time to show the meaning of Ennoshita's presence has come.

Kawahara: Ennoshita is a character who represents the emotions of what it is to not be a starter. So I wonder how much the people watching will sympathize with that. I want to show "a normal person doing their best."

Shiota: Ennoshita's the NPC ace!

Kawahara: Uh-huh. I really think I've ended up as the audience stand-in on stage, so… Up til now I've seen precisely that point – soothing the audience, or giving them a break – as a critical responsibility, or to put it the other way around, I didn't want anyone else to take it over. "This is my job." Because of those experiences, I think Ennoshita and the audience have similar feelings. I want to work off of that, leverage it, and express the drama of this storyline with the right emotion and technique.

Q: And the connection between the second years, which we haven't seen much of so far, is coming sharply into focus.

Kawahara: That's right. These two [Tanaka and Nishinoya] have gone with the momentum of their "Soi soi!" thing (laughter), and there have been almost no opportunities for the second years to show their relationship in conversation.

Shiota: There are this time. The flashback where Ennoshita runs away and then comes back is like the proof of our history together and all our words and deeds so far.

Fuchino: We want to convey that to everyone.

Q: Yamaguchi's also called onto the court… for quite a bitter experience.

Miura: Yeahhh… Yeah, that's right. Um, there's the part where Ennoshita comes to his rescue… it's painful. You know how the subtitle this time is "The Start of the Giant". But for me, the subtitle "Battle of the Cowards" is bam, right there.

Kosaka/Shiota: Ahhhh!

Kawhara: That's good. Ennoshita and Yamaguchi, right?

Miura: The battle the two of them have with themselves leaves a really powerful impression.

Kosaka: The "giants" are Hinata and Nakashima, right? But just now… I kind of felt like the two cowards will go on to get bigger, or something.

Kawahara: Yeah. Maybe that's one of the hidden meanings!

Shiota: The ones who read deep into a work to enjoy it more are the winners.

Kosaka: Okay, I'm going to think of it that way.

Shiota: But Tsukki's been a giant from the beginning so… "Still a Giant?"

Kawahara/Miura: (burst out laughing)

Kosaka: There it is. (laughter)

Shiota: There it sure is. (laughter)

Q: Engeki Haikyuu's famous raked stage is back, too!

Fuchino: This is my first time on a raked stage. I'm going to strengthen up my legs… I'm prepping for my thighs to be on par with a major leaguer's this year.

Shiota: They really bulk up.

Miura: When you get up there once, the same day you're immediately sore.

Fuchino: That's what I thought.

Shiota: Just standing is tiring. (laughs)

Miura: We sat down whenever we could get a chance.

Kosaka: Now we've started to forget what it was really like, so I'm afraid.

Kawahara: But you know, a raked stage gets you more excited! Last time I caught myself thinking, "A level stage is a little bit sad."

Shiota: I get what you mean, that moment when your adrenaline spikes. During matches, you're moving for thirty minutes straight for a single match… Fucchi, soon.

Fuchino: No… that's why… I went to see "Shousha to Haisha", and even then it was like… just watching I thought I was gonna puke…

Kosaka/Miura: (explosion of laughter)

Kawahara: (laughter) That one was definitely a little abnormal!

Shiota: My feeling is… the ones before that were just right. For me.

Kawahara: Same! Of course even then you're moving plenty, but that feeling where you think "A heavier load fires me up"… Well, I'm a little scared too, but. (laughs) Also, there's the distance between us and the audience. There's this sense of urgency like the audience gets on our level (of energy), or maybe we're able to pull them along. Of course, the issue is always how far we can follow what Worry-san wants to do.

Shiota: Worry-san doesn't hold on to anything. We leave what we've tried before there and move on to the next thing. But there are some points I want to keep…

Kawahara: That's something you should definitely say at the moment you think it. "I want to keep this thing we made."

Kosaka: Lasers!

Fuchino: The lasers were cool.

Miura: They were! I hope we use them again.

Kawahara: The LED panels are heavy, it was hard switching them out.

Shiota: I like the transparent panels more. They have a good vibe.

Q: Objects are a crucial part of Engeki Haikyuu, aren't they.

Kawahara: These plays verge on shows, so the tempo shift between the appeal of movement based in a show aesthetic and the captivation of proper acting technique is what makes Engeki Haikyuu good. To optimize that balance we fight with the director, then receive inspiration from him in turn. We have to create it together.

Q: Karasuno have to make the adults think, "They've changed," since last summer, after all.

Shiota: Definitely! That's important.

Kosaka: I… think I'm going to bulk up. I mean, going through that summer, then stopping all these strong opponents in the matches after that, volleyball muscles must build up naturally. Even for Tsukishima. So when Tsukishima stands on the court I want him to give off an aura like"Huh? Has he gotten bigger?" – like a sense of pressure. Plus, his glasses change. (laughter) I want to grow both inside and out.

Miura: This is our first official match after defeat. Karasuno is going on to become stronger, and in the middle of them is Yamaguchi. I think he's changing inside, between his relationship with Ennoshita who's also in the bench squad and especially his feelings when he saw Tsukki being so pathetic. Plus, this is when Hinata meets Nakashima and also starts to change even more… When it comes to the strength necessary to change, we also have to figure out "something" that will allow us to fight back agianst the talent of the new cast.

Shiota: It's fine, we've got experience with that.

Miura: I know! That persuasiveness that makes the audience think "Oh, sure enough Karasuno are winning." It would be great if we could use our experience to show these changes. Plus, we're going to sweat a ton. We sweat on the bench, too!

Shiota: Johzenji is a "fun" school, but first, I want to show them just how much fun we have on stage. "Can you do this?" "Come on, let's all have fun!" (laughter) Then, I want them to produce the power to overcome that, so I think "Oh, y'all are having fun yourselves," and then I try to overcome that – I want that kind of synergy. Hopefully that will keep going from rehearsals. The drama with Tanaka and Daichi-san in the Wakunan match… I'll show you Tanaka's power in getting back on his feet! And then I'd like to be better about raising others up. I've learned that, that it can't be all about me. Worry-san told me that pulling others along and lifting them up makes me better, too. That's my issue to tackle!

Fuchino: Johzenji's a high-energy team, so I don't want Noya-san to lose on those terms. Last time, I somehow managed to get by on energy and meager skill, so this time I want energy plus equivalent skill. Noya-san's a genius so I want to portray an appropriate mood. I have to show "he really is good." I want to be a presence that doesn't reveal his desperation, and rather has calm to spare.

Kawahara: Noya-san has to encourage Ennoshita when he tells him "Nice receive"… I want to get that from Fucchi's Nishinoya.

Fuchino: My Noya-san will be able to say such a convincing line naturally!

Kawahara: Amidst the pressure of the Wakunan match, where loss means elimination, I hope I can portray Ennoshita's feelings as they change from "I have to pull everyone here along somehow" to "Everyone here is helping me" with the right sensitivity, and… Kouhei said this too, but I also want to be conscious of when I'm standing by myself and when others are helping me stand.

Q: Team play.

Kawahara: Haikyuu is the story of Hinata, yearning to be the Little Giant, and in relation to him Kageyama, and of the rest of Karasuno. So as our ultimate destination we have to show, within the match, how Karasuno's evolved and then also the moment that Hinata awakens as "a giant at the beginning". Amazing performances from Johzenji and Wakunan mean that the more we compete there the better. I want us to travel along the path of the performance and convey a story as one.

How We Got Here

9-chapter story, each day/prompt will be 1 chapter.  Some portions of the story chapters are made up and some are based from the manga/anime.  There is a reason for that but if I say more it may give away too much spoiler info.

She knew it was necessary for them to go their separate ways, it would be faster in order to stop the attack on Xing, and it’s not like she wanted to be away from Hak, nor would he like the idea either.  If something were to happen to her he would no doubt tear this Kingdom apart in his grief.  But she couldn’t take him in case she ran into the one person she knew Hak wanted dead.  

“Hak, you go ahead over to the wind tribe first.  I will slow-down Soo-Won’s, the Sky tribe’s army’s.”

“You know you’re not going anywhere without me, right?” Min-Soo offers to accompany her and Algira but that isn’t good enough.  He reaches out, “Wait a moment, you think I’m going to let you go alone?!”

“Just go.  The Wind tribe is surely waiting for you Hak.  I might not be able to do much, but I’m going to try doing what I can so that I won’t have any regrets.  And, then we’ll go and meet with the four dragons, Yoon, and Ao.  Okay?” smiling big.  “I’ll just be gone for a little bit!”

“I,” lowering his head, “understand.  I’ll be waiting.”

“Hak…” clutching at his hood, Yona pulls him down for a quick kiss. Hak is so surprised that he can only stare down at her wide eyed, even after it ends, his mind blank.  “Well,” she blushes, stunned with herself, and turns to leave, “I’ll be going now…”

As soon as she was in the carriage heading to seek out Tae-Jun’s assistance, Yona puts her head down to mull over what she just did. Something in her body propelled her forward before her mind could even process why, she had reached out and pulled Hak into that kiss.  What was she thinking when she saw how sad he looked, that in case she never saw him again, he would hopefully know how she felt?  That she didn’t want to leave, and it was a promise to come back to him?  

In all the years she had been in love with Soo-Won never once had she even considered acting upon her emotions and yet today with Hak, she had done just that.  The inclination to want to feel his lips against hers flowed so smoothly and easily that after it was done, and her brain had caught up with her actions, only then did it hit her.  ‘Oh my god I kissed Hak!’  

What was Hak thinking now?  She hadn’t stuck around to find out but based on the stupefied look on his face, his mind had probably blanked out.  He was always the one to tease her, touching her, and doing other perverted things, but when the act was committed on him, he reacted strangely.  What if he didn’t like it?  He had pulled back didn’t he, ‘maybe he’s gonna be mad at me now!’ Clutching her face in horror, ‘No! I need to focus right now but, please don’t let him be mad at me because I…’  

Why was it so hard to admit it, to get the words, ‘I want to say out of my mouth?’  Maybe that was part of the reason for the kiss, to act without words, to convey how much she wanted him to always be with her, in any way, shape, or form, for the rest of their lives…

“Hak I’m sorry about yesterday!”

“Why are you apologizing?”

“I’m sorry…  I overheard your conversation with the people of the Wind tribe.  I’ve always felt like I stole you away from the Wind tribe, and what’s more you have, you have a fiancée.”

“Fiancée?  Ahh, you mean Ayame.  I see, that’s why you were pushing me to go back, and said that stuff about returning my freedom?”

“Yeah but, I don’t think that you’re unneeded or anything like that, it’s just that, you’re very precious to me, so, stay with me…”

‘I can’t take this anymore!’  “What’s with that, I told you, didn’t I?  Many times!  I won’t leave you!  Like hell I’d leave you!!  And that’s not because I feel obligated not to.  Get that through your head already!!  The place I go home to is here!!”

“I’m sorry…”

“I accompanied you, was overwhelmed by your strength and passion, and decided to live for you.  The pride of serving someone…  The one who taught me that was you!!”

“Hak…” wiping away the tears.  “You might have been exasperated by all the things I’ve said but, can I ask you one thing?”

“Yes?”

“What will you do about Ayame?”

“Ugh,” running his hand over his face.  “Look I don’t like being at the center of misunderstandings, so I’ll just say this…” Facing her directly once more.  “The one I like is you damn it!!!”

“Eh?”

“Don’t ‘Eh’ me!!  I said Ayame has a partner already.  I like you and I don’t have a fiancée goddammitt!!  I'm tired out for today!!  Have you understood everything?”

“Y-yes…”

“Great!  Ahhhh! Much better.”  Hak walks away standing tall and feeling lighter than he ever has after releasing all that weight from his heart leaving a bewildered and bright red Yona sitting there to process what just happened.

After wolfing down dinner, Hak settles onto his bedroll and closes his eyes.  He felt so much more relaxed that the burden of hiding his feelings for Yona would no longer be necessary.  It was out in the open, with witnesses, she heard him loud and clear, and it looked like she understood every word he had spouted.  Sigh, he had buried those emotions down for so long…  Would he be able to carry on as if nothing had changed?

He still wasn’t sure what her opinion was or how she may feel now, even that kiss back in Saika, was there a meaning behind it?  Yona has kissed him so smoothly, casually…  He wanted to be angry that she had pulled such a thing on him but, it also didn’t make sense since she wasn’t one to act in that manner. How many times over the years he would tell her to just confess to Soo-Won how she felt and yet she was too embarrassed.  

How, when did the Princess develop the courage to up and kiss him?  He could ask her, but chances were greater that she would clam up in embarrassment again. That girl, so innocent and childlike and yet for all his physical strength she was so much stronger than he. In a relatively short time, he watched her go from broken to a force of the heavens and it only made him want to be with her, in whatever capacity he could take, for the rest of their lives…

June Wrap Up | 2018

This was a really great month for reading. I read sixteen books and once again I have to reblog this post to fit all the tags in. A lot of them were great. Some of them were absolute trash but most were pretty good.

The first book I read was One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus:

Okay so I enjoyed this book but I had some major problems with it. Mostly because the crux of the conflict relies on things that are completely illogical. Teachers practice illegal(ish) searches and seizure that wouldn’t fly by any judge or education administration. An app that caused someone to attempt suicide is not immediately taken down. Author writing a book about crime doesn’t know about the two party recording consent laws. It’s frustrating and yet was enjoyable. I think McManus can write a good mystery and I liked her characters. She just needs to work on her plots. I gave this book a three out of five stars.

Then I read The Wicker King by K. Ancrum:

I don’t really know how to feel about this book. Partly anxiety because of all the mental health stuff and medical stuff. I thought Jack and August’s relationship was pretty toxic and not very healthy. I’m not really into the super edgy, angsty, life-fucking-sucks style of books but it wasn’t bad. I enjoyed reading this. It kept me going. I think I liked the side characters more. The twins, Rina and Alex mostly. So I guess I’m giving this four out of five stars.

Next, I caved and bought the next volume of A Silent Voice by Yoshitoki Oima:

So, in this book Shoya gets Shoko to reunite with the girl who tried to learn sign language in sixth grade. That was really nice. She’s kind of a bland character though. Then we get the re-introduction of Naoka. Who’s still a bitch. She’s an interesting character and it’ll be interesting to see if she shows up again and has any development. But the big tear jerking in this story is when Shoko admits to loving Shoya but he doesn’t understand her. And it’s so sad. Ughhhhh…I’m probably going to buy the next one. Wasn’t as good as the last two but still five out of five stars.

Then I read the fourth volume of A Silent Voice:

Ahhhh so many emotions in this one. First Shoya gets more friends. There’s Satoshi Mashiba is a hottie. Then Naoka planned for Shoya to see one of his childhood friends. I’m guessing at some point he’s actually going to talk to Kazuki. But the big thing that happened in this one was that Shoko’s grandma died. It was really sad and we got to see Shoko’s mother’s backstory and it made me tear up. I just want someone to help out this poor woman. My favorite so far! Five out of five!

Then I finished but did not complete the Summer I Turned Pretty bind up by Jenny Han:

I read the first two books in this bind up but rage quit the last one after five chapters. The first book was fun. Belly was a snot and is written like a 10 year old instead of a sixteen year old. However, I liked the rest of the characters and wanted to see what would happen to them. I gave that four out of five stars. Then I went onto the next book hoping that Belly got better. She did not. She got worse. She’s such a bitch to her parents in this book, especially to her mother. Belly says some awful things to her mother and I don’t even think she apologizes for it. Conrad also starts to act like a little snot. He just leaves school without telling his brother. They also don’t do the most logical and correct answer which is to call Belly’s mom and ask her for help. That was my first instinct and it takes them forever to figure it out. And it’s only when Belly drunk calls her mom. God this book was so bad. Two out of five. Then I tried to read the third book but it was just Belly being a bitch to Jeremiah and Jeremiah kind of cheating on Belly. DNF’ed. Will not be reading any more Jenny Han books.

Next, I finally reread Cress by Marissa Meyer:

I still can’t believe how well this series has held up. There are a few logic problems like Cinder presses her metal hand onto her face to “cool off”. Marissa, I don’t press my face to the roof of my car to cool off. Also Kai is kind of more annoying than I remember him being. However, I still really enjoying this series. I like the dynamic Cress adds and I teared up when Erland died. I also really liked Winter small roll. She’s such a fun character. Jacin was also amusing. I give this book five out of five stars.

I think picked up Aru Shah and the End of Time by Roshani Chokshi:

This book was pretty good. I was a little bit skeptical going in and I did end up having a few problems with it. The humor didn’t always land and it was a little too similar to the Lightning Thief. However, I think this series has potential and there were a lot of cool elements that I really enjoyed and I’m excited to see where this series goes. I gave this book four out of five stars.

I felt like going back to A Silent Voice and read the fifth, sixth and final volume:

The fifth one was a little underwhelming. I still gave it four stars but it mostly focused on the movie plot which isn’t my favorite thing. I did like getting to know more about Mashiba who is my favorite even if he is a little…intense. Also Shoko might have attempted suicide at the so it was a real cliffhanger. Get it? Then the sixth one was a bit better. It’s starts off with Shoko’s mother apologizing to Shoya’s mother and it’s really sad. Also Nao just starts beating the shit out of Shoko and then Shoko’s mother fights back which was really awesome. We saw that Satoshi was bullied for his…eyebrows and is super creepy about it. Then we get kind of Shoko’s perspective on things. Not my favorite but I enjoyed it. Five out of five stars. Then I finally read the 7th and last volume. This was a nice ending to the series. You had the mothers getting drunk and becoming friends. Shoko and Shoya both want to become hairdressers. And they’re eventually going to Tokyo together? It’s a nice, hopeful ending. I gave it five out of five stars.

Next, I read The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert:

This book was Every Heart a Doorway but done better. I still didn’t love this book. I gave it three stars. I just don’t like this type of super cynical tone. It just annoys me. However I thought the world and how the Hinterland worked was pretty awesome. I also liked the twist that Alice was Alice-Three-Times and Ella had plucked her from the story. Finches character kind of bugged me. Overall I gave this book three out of five stars. I won’t be continuing on with this series but I may check out another Albert book.

Then the newest volume of Tokyo Ghoul: re by Sui Ishida came out:

I enjoyed this one. I wasn’t expect an all out fight. In this Shu’s family is discovered of being a bunch of ghouls so there’s a big fight. Sen/Bandage girl got Kanae and made him crazy…er, crazier. There’s a really great seen between Akira and Kaneki where she hugs him. I’m pretty sure Amon’s out there somewhere. Lots of people die, including Hairu who was really cute. Then a random monster came at the end. Overall it wasn’t the best fight ever but I still enjoyed it Five out of five stars.

I decided to order Volume Two of Teen Titans so I reread the first volume Teen Titans: Damien Knows Best by Benjamin Percy:

Why read new books when I can reread comics? Also god I love the art in the first issue. I wish the art had stayed that way. But I did like the art in the last issue. I think the rest is fine but man that first issue is great. I really love this team dynamic. All the different personalities and powers. It’s so cool. And I’m a sucker for the heroes versus their opposites. It’s great. I wonder when we’ll see Mara and the Demon’s Fist again. Five out of five stars.

A few days later Teen Titans Vol. 2: The Rise of Aqualad by Benjamin Percy came out:

I really enjoyed this book. I’m a little sad that Aqualad’s personality and backstory is completely different but he still has the same Young Justice design. However, I still think he’s a really interesting character. I like his arc with his father. I really liked Kid Flash and Raven’s relationship and wish we saw more of it. But the thing I really liked was Star Fire taking charge. She’s my favorite character and honestly the best leader for this team. Hopefully we’ll see more of her doing this in the future. This book got five out of five stars as well.

Then, I read Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor:

This took me like 10 days to read despite the fact that I really enjoyed it. I kept getting distract by shorter books. I really enjoyed this book. I liked Karou having to work with the White Wolf. Thiago is such a great villain and I’m glad he died. I’m sad that Hazael died and wish he would have stuck around. He gave the angel trio a fun dynamic. I’m interested to read the next book. It’s going to be a lot of battling but hopefully not a lot of “Will Karou and Akiva get together???” Because they will.

AHHHH this was incredibly cute and funny, I never knew I could like a math!au so much? I think most people would think “but math is boring”, but hear me out, this fic is so interesting it hooked me in and I really enjoyed it, I couldn’t even put my phone down one minute haha. The math jokes are great and I thought that little math idea (E[love]) towards the end was amazing! I think the author was really creative and I like how they implemented all of bangtan on this au as well, I thought it was pretty cool! This fic is super long with some suggestive themes (*wink* *wink*) and definitely worth reading, so check it out if you can!!

Red by dalliance (One-shot)

“Jimin thinks his luck has hit absolute rock bottom when he’s made to stay with a total stranger in a lodge due to a mix up for three months.”

I think I’m a sucker for painter!Jungkook/Jimin and this was a really good fic. It showed a lot of Jimin’s character development since he basically doesn’t want anything to do with Jungkook at first, so thanks Jungkook for being so persistent (yay!). Jungkook is an actual angel and Jimin is able to address his problems in this fic, plus there’s these really cute scenes too! Paintings and colors and other art related things are involved (obviously) so it’s nice to see Jungkook’s perpective on it as well as Jimin’s. The ending made me want more of this fic though tbh xd.

No Strings Attached by graesun (Completed) (M)

“Jungkook likes his job, but sometimes he wishes he had someone to do it for him.”

Okay so this is a fic with camboy!Jungkook and I never knew I had a thing for camboy AUs until I read this fic ugh it’s so good; also thank you Taehyung, but what the fuck Taehyung xd. I think it’s kinda funny how Jungkook and Jimin come together (no pun intended?). Jimin is really nice, I think the author did a good job trying to not make Jimin appear as a creep haha, you can tell Jimin really cares about Jungkook. This fic is also fluffy at times yet, it still has some angst in it The fact that you just see them moping around not doing anything is so frustrating like just cuddle each other or something pleasE. It has a happy ending though so that’s good and I’m still waiting on that bonus chapter hehe.

“Jimin swore there was nothing worst than having Jeon Jungkook as a sergeant.

This fic ripped me into pieces and still as my heart dammit. I didn’t know whether to put it as complete or not because technically it is complete, but it has a sequel on the works (you can check it out here) so it’s not really complete xd. Anyways I thought this fic was a pretty cool AU and we get to know a bit about Jungkook and Jimin’s background which makes us understand why they act that way on certain occassions. I think the interactions between them are interesting too because they should hate each other and they kinda do, but also kinda don’t? They (mainly Jungkook) seem really confused about their feelings (someone help this poor boy). There’s smut tho so you’ve been warned! Ah the ending felt really sad, I kept wanting more! I hope the sequel gets updated soon haha.

After Hours by pinkmonnie (Completed) (has some Taegi in it and a little Namseok)

“Jimin has been working at the same place for three years, watching as the world around him moves along in a busy hype. Although he enjoys certain aspects of his job, particularly since Min Yoongi became his manager, over time he gradually felt the usual rhythm begin to weigh him down.

Taehyung, his closest friend, comes to Gwanghwamun Starbucks for two reasons - free drinks or food if he’s feeling peckish, and to stare at Yoongi with a lump in his throat.

One night, Taehyung brings along a new friend.”

Seventeen chapters may sound a little bit intimidating, but I think it’s a really cute fic and straightforward!Jungkook is great tbh. Most of the plot revolves around the café Jimin works at so it gives it a homey feeling where most of Bangtan can hangout and be comfortable with one another. Jungkook also knows how to draw which is a plus in my book, and his relationship with Jimin is incredibly adorable with Jungkook also being kind of shy at times? You can clearly tell this guy is whipped and that Jimin is grateful for him. The fact that there’s no smut makes me think that the relationship is pure and really fluffy xd. Since I use the “Show entire work” option on AO3 I didn’t even feel how long the entire fic was so that’s good I think xd.

Constraint by Harlot (One-shot) (M)

“Jungkook is young and he is more acquainted with confusion and poor-decision-making than he’d like to admit. Despite being only 19 years old, he sometimes argues that he’s been through and seen some shit. He is never sure where he’s going to end up and he’s not entirely sure what kind of future is waiting for him. He is often not sure of a lot but he is certain—absolutely certain—that he’s not gay. Alternatively, a story in which Jungkook meets Park Jimin and doesn’t like him whatsoever. There’s just something about him… there’s just so much about him. Jungkook really can’t stand him. In fact, he can’t stand him so much he can’t quite seem to get him off of his mind.”

ThIS SINFUL MASTERPIECE OMG y’all probably already read it, but it’s so good I had to put it in here. You can see Jungkook tries so hard to get Jimin out of his head, but he can’t (I feel you kookie) and he is an asshole about it. Jimin makes me want to wrap him with a blanket and snuggle him, but also he’s really sexy at times(which is real life Jimin actually). I like that you can see them become close friends too! Which makes the teasing much more enjoyable xd. It’s also really great to see Jungkook come to terms with his sexuality later on in the fic,  and ofc, as if it wasn’t clear enough, there’s SMUT guys (and very good written smut imo) so don’t say I didn’t tell you xd.

Extra!

This isn’t really that jikook-y (?). I think it’s centered more on bangtan’s friendship with maybe some hints of pairings, and it’s angsty af so I’m into it xd

Little boy, Fat Man,? by monsterplaza (aesthesiae) (One-shot)

“Yesterday, the biggest worry on Park Jimin’s mind was how he’d get Jeon Jeongguk back for scribbling on his phone case. Then, a nuclear strike ravages the heart of South Korea, and it’s a battle for survival.”

So basically it’s an apocalypse AU (Nuclear warfare) in South Korea and BTS does exist, but they get separated since they have to look for their families to check if they’re okay, so the story mainly follows Yoongi, Taehyung, Jimin and Jungkook in they journey of not dying and finding help xd. THERE’S CHARACTER DEATHS THO SO YOUVE BEEN WARNED. I cried so much guys, like, how can they be so unlucky lmao; but yeah I had to include it because I really like character death for some reason. This fic was pretty interesting because of the plot and it just leaves you thinking about the world afterwards like wtf (Hopefully this scenario will never happen ofc). Anywayss, if you’re into that stuff you could check it out!

Well today was overall fine, accomplished enough I suppose and nothing went too terrible. Woke up around 1:30 (bless) which was glorious, ate some cocoa krispies (note: whenever I say I ate breakfast on one of these posts it means I ate cocoa krispies. I always eat cocoa krispies) then got ready and took my little cart thing out and hopped on a bus to make a target trip. There's no route directly there, so I either have to walk a bit east then hop on a bus a bit south, or hop on a bus a bit south and then walk a bit east, lol, and I did the second today. I needed to make the target trip because this week I was actually out of sodastream gas canisters, which are actually what powers my life so I had to get the refills of those, along with a few other random items like, mouthwash. Of course I raided their dollar section (that is really their $3 section at this point, but oh well) and couldn't help but buy like 3 candles and more string lights for my room cuz they're cheap and cute and I don't care, lol. Did some basic food shopping, what I'll need for dinner tonight and the next week or so, and heavy cream if I ever get around to making caramels like I want to at some point. Wandered around the store a bit after that, spent a solid 10 minutes contemplating their underwear selection and trying to decide if I wanted to try something other than the exact brand size and style I've been wearing for like, ten years because everything else rides up and makes me uncomfortable, and ended up deciding to just go with it (for the record, I have tried other stuff over the years, and been unhappy with them). I looked through their pajama selection and really wanted this cute summery set of a gryffindor tank and shorts but it was 98% polyester so there goes that idea. They had a few other things but nothing all that great. I did dare venture over to the clothing section for a few minutes, and got a cute tank top and a pair of sporty leggings that I'm hoping will stay on better while I'm working out (I've noticed lately, mainly when I'm like, in the middle of working out, that whatever sweatpants I'm wearing have a tendency to fall down) then finally headed to check out. Walked a bit back and then had to wait for way too long for the bus but I didn't want another half hour of walk, so I waited. Got home around 5, put my stuff away and started working on the project for about two hours. I was working on perfecting the mission and vision statement as well as working on the portion about future plans for the org. That was hard because like, I want to turn in this plan for this nationwide org with community centers everywhere but like, this is a plan we're making to start a nonprofit lol, not an idea for an already established one, so I had to do some rewriting of my original concept and then think of things to add to the future developments beyond more community centers in different cities. Then I worked on a smaller portion about my experience and how it makes me equipped for the job, which put me just at 11 pages, so not bad. I'm still trying to figure out how I'm gonna handle the actual presentation, cuz like there's very specific parameters set out in the paper for what there needs to be in it, but the presentation is just based on the paper, it doesn't say what exactly, and he's said several times he doesn't want us just reading from a paper, but also saying he doesn't care about PowerPoints or stuff like that- just that we're familiar enough with the material to talk about it confidently and not need to read straight from our notes. So I may make a presentation cheat sheet of major points at some point tomorrow that could be helpful. Basically the presentation is supposed to be us pitching the idea of the nonprofit to potential finders, for them to decide if they would want to fund us or not. I think I have a good amount of info about programs and such set up, I need to do the more technical elements of setting up a board of directors and everything, and actually figure out a budget (which I probably won't include in the presentation but will need for the paper, and God am I not looking forward to doing that) and other tying up factors. But I think I'm in a good spot and I should be able to pull everything together tomorrow for my presentation Monday. At 7 I stopped because I wanted to make dinner. I've been having this issue lately where I'll make my big meal on the weekend but then not want to eat it during the week for whatever reason and end up throwing most of it out which I really had doing, so I thought I'd try to do something I know is good and that I'll want to eat, so I did this cheesy chicken broccoli and rice thing that's fairly easy to make and also tastes way better than you would expect it to lol so hopefully that will do the trick for during the week. After I finished cooking I sat down on my couch to watch some tv, and found out training day had started about 5 minutes prior (it was like, 8:05 at this point). I never keep track of when my shows actually air, so sometimes I'll turn on my tv and find out one of them is actually on). So I caught up on that pretty quickly and watched it. Somewhat of a meh episode for me, not that I didn't like the plot because I did, I think I just missed Katrina Law's character because she was in like, one scene. But that was fine. I didn't have anything else recorded so I went back over to 24:Legacy which I ended up watching for the rest of the night and finishing, and I have to say, by the last 3 episodes I was all in on this in true 24 fashion, finally feeling it like I did with the original show and oh, how I've missed that feeling. It took a while to get there obviously, but it was worth it because those episodes were fantastic. Spoilers ahead, obviously, but I was sad they did end up killing Rebecca, though that much should've been obvious once Sims or whatever his name was did his little speech about after this she would be like a war criminal. But I was sad because I gained so much respect for her character over those episodes, like what a fucking BADASS she is to take on a hostage negotiation like that and just totally call their bluff when he life was on the line, like holy crap she was just killing it. I loved it when her and Eric just went rogue, that finally felt very 24, with its rogue agents receiving unofficial support from CTU. Even Keith (I learned his name and have stopped calling him zoom guy!!!) was pretty awesome in the end of definitely did his part, something not always true for past CTU directors. Of course there was massive incompetence in letting terrorist #1 escape, but that was clearly just because they needed it for the plot, not that it would actually happen like that. I have to talk about the ending with the girl and Eric and Tony though. TONY. My bby. First of all, hearing him utter the words "I have to help CTU" made my little fangirl heart so happy because even after all of this he was going to help them and it just ahhhh <3. With the showdown at the house I was just like, yelling the whole time STOP FIGHTING YOURE FRIENDS YOU JUST DONT KNOW IT so I was pleased when that basically happened lol and of course Tony was like uh yeah of course go take the kid and save Rebecca. This girl though, and Eric protecting her, broke my fucking heart. Like yes, I know, this is all fictional. But that poor little girl. She was so little, so entirely innocent, and treated so horribly by the government that it was abominable. Seeing Eric being so gentle and kind to her was perfect, and that scene where they're waiting for the helicopter and she's telling him about the names of the flowers and the trees had me in like, tears just out of the sheer preciousness of the scene, like, holy crap, it was such a poignant and well done moment that stood out so well from all the violence and terrorism going on around it. I very much enjoyed that, and of course seeing that the girl was in fact safe. They obviously set themselves up for a second season, but I still of course protest to having a 12 episode season of a show called 24 when the entire damn concept is it happens over 24 hours, lol. Also, I freaked out when they time jumped the last 15 minutes because HEY, THAT IS SO AGAINST THE RULES. YOU MADE THE RULES, AND THERE ARENT THAT MANY OF THEM, BUT YOU JUST BROKE A MAJOR RULE AND THATS NOT COOL, MAN. Lol. I'm not sure what to think about John and what he's gonna do now, but it would be interesting to see him as president next season (though tbh I'll just be sad Rebecca isn't there with him because she's just such a badass character I can't help but miss her). But yeah, clearly I had feelings about all of that haha as you can see from all I just ranted. But yeah, I finished that and started getting ready for bed and now it's late and I should go to sleep, so I'm gonna do that now. Church in the morning, then we'll see. Goodnight friends. Percy Jackson: MAKE IT BETTER THAN THE MOVIES AND LET RICK RIORDAN TAKE OVER (also known as the ASOUE Netflix syndrome). 2 episodes per book (for the first series) for season 1. Season 2, things get a bit more complicated. I want all of Riordan's books adapted (Kane, HOO, Magnus Chase) around this time. Kane can possibly be in season 1/2, HOO definitely season 2, Magnus Chase season 2/3, and TOA season 3. The Camp Half-Blood plotline is the main part of this series, but there are also the other series as well, so we need to consider that.

Marauders: yes please. It's not a totally Sirius show ("duh we need the other guys as well" says Remus), its humor would kind of lurk around Very Potter Musical and Potter Puppet Pals, but have the props and stages of the Harry Potter movies. We need them for years 1-7, then the First Wizarding War. It ends when Voldemort visits the Potters' house to kill Harry. Maybe seperate Hogwarts years to seperate seasons.

39 clues: Kind of hard to explain, but basically, each series is a season. It gets harder for seasons 3-4, but you can probably use 2 episodes per book. Season 2 is 2 episodes per book. Season 1 has so many books, you need books 1-5 to be 1 episode, then books 6-10 to be 2 episodes. Bonus material that's kinda seperate to the main series include Vesper Rising, Mission Confidential, etc.

Hitchhiker's Guide: idk, its a developing idea, but let it have a different plotline b/c every adaptation had a different plotline, maybe it can be like diff. universes? Idk

Eragon: also a developing idea, needs ASOUE Netflix syndrome

Wimpy Kid: it's not just NotMyRodrick, it's NotMyWimpyKid when it comes to the Long Haul movie. DEFINITELY NEEDS ASOUE Netflix syndrome. Tv series, obviously, but make it feel like the old Wimpy Kid films, those were the best

All the Wrong Questions: HOPEFULLY THIS IS CREATED BECAUSE OTHERWISE VOLUNTEERS WILL ALL BE OUTRAGED. VERY FURIOUS (and) DEMENTED, AS ONE WOULD SAY. Anyway, 2 episodes per book as always, Lemony should narrate and not appear while already in the scene b/c it gets confusing. Most of the time it should be interpreted as if telling a story. Add in Patrick Warburton once in a while to show that he's telling a story from the PAST, kind of like nostalgic or something. Make it even better by making sets similar to Seth's illustrations, or the even the color scheme (if possible). Give some hint hint clue clue to some vfd stuff as well, root beer floats and whatnot
