I've seen a lot of people who write Muichiro as someone who sort of forgets he's not dating you in the crush stage, but my take is that Muichiro actually forgets he's dating you and thinks he's in his crush era.

🌸He'll approach you suddenly, a couple times a month, with a serious expression and red cheeks, to confess his not-so-secret crush on you from since the day you both met, having forgotten he had already done so and you both were already together

🌸You usually just go along with it until he gets to the "I hope you feel the same but I'll understand if you don't" part; then you break it to him with a shy laugh that he had already confessed and you both were going out

🌸It's not tiring at all to keep repeating the same scenario, not at all! Muichiro is so cute when he does it, unconsciously pulling an innocent puppy expression and staring at you hopefully. And when he remembers you both are a couple he'll immediately light up ever so excitedly, attack you in a hug, press his forehead against you and apologize in a flurry of "Sorry" and compliments

("How did I manage to pull someone like you?" He wonders out loud. You laugh - he's too cute for his own good.)

🌸Not only that it's honestly become a guessing game with you to see what method Muichiro would confess to you again this time. You both have approximately cycled through confession by love letter, gifts (he might've stolen it forgetting it belonged to someone else, but it's the thought that counts, right?), cloud-gazing date, outright declaration, jealous blurt...yeah, you've gone through every single trope there was possible

🌸Your favorite one was when he threw an airplane across the room to you and when you unfolded it he wrote a little sweet confession. You still have it, along with the rest he started throwing to you to 1. get your attention 2. annoy you 3. ask you to join him for training or cloud-gazing

🌸 You've told him multiple times it's okay if he wants to stare at you anytime he likes after catching him doing it one day, like he did when he was in his crush phase, but he forgot and acts like he just got caught performing the most atrocious crime on earth: looks away immediately and vehemently denies it

🌸Everyone around you guys thinks it's super funny and adorable how Muichiro would start talking about you and abruptly end it with something like "Is this what people mean by having a crush?" or "I would really like to be her boyfriend someday if I manage to confess and she accepts." As said above he gets really puppy-dog excited when he's told "Aren't you guys dating already?"

("We are?" Muichiro frowned. "I don't remember..." His eyes widen. "So that's who left me that daikon today..." Then he runs off forgetting he's in the middle of conversation to go find you.)

🌸Sometimes it's a little awkward when it comes to dates though. Say there's a festival happening in a nearby town or White Day and you've been planning to spend the day having fun with him - Muichiro's going to forget you're both together and be too shy to ask you out despite that's all he's thinking about. Then you have to remind him, or someone else triggers it.

("I'm so sorry I didn't ask you!" Muichiro pushed a small box of chocolates towards you. "I got you this as an apology if it makes up for it? We'll do anything you want for tonight if you want?)

🌸It's always funny when Muichiro gets sulky or starts moping around when he hears about your boyfriend and how you're gushing over him because he forgot it was him. You like to tease him about it by listing out all the qualities you like about him and the usual praise until Muichiro asks who it is, his jealousy quite obvious.

("You, dummy!"

Muichiro blinked, then groaned, grabbing onto your side and looking up at you pathetically. "Don't play with me like that!")

🌸Of course it's not all fun and games. If this is before he met Tanjiro and regained his memories he can be pretty cold to you when he doesn't remember about your relationship, leading to a lot of things you both have to talk through after a fight.

🌸Worse case scenario is that he still remembers you as a crush, but decides that instead of confessing like before he ought to push you away before you became a weakness, a distraction...someone he'd lose.

🌸After he gets back his memories and becomes more like his old self however, he doesn't forget your relationship anymore, meaning to make up for all the times he did. In fact he flexes it, wanting to tell everyone about the both of you all the time to the point your default face is now "extremely flustered".

🌸Especially when he's jealous, actually.

("I heard that (y/n) has a crush though, do you really think you still stand a chance?"

Muichiro whipped his head around at the sound of the two slayers gossiping in the corner during a break from his training. A slight crease forms between his eyebrows and he decides to go a little harder on them later.

"Nah, it's fine! I'm a hundred per cent confident she'll say yes as long as she isn't dating anyone!"

"But I heard she is," a third slayer joined in, leaning closer conspiratorially. "A Hashira, actually."

The guy in question bursts out laughing. Scumbag. "As if! Don't be so stupid. She's already lucky she could get MY attention."

"Who would want a stupid mizunoto like you?" Muichiro smacked the slayer with the flat of his blade expressionlessly. The other two yelped and scrambled back. "For your information (y/n) got my attention - and now you have mine: go run ten laps around the Estate and if I hear you defile her name again I'll make it a hundred."

He blew a raspberry at the poor wretch as he ran past.)

A week after Anakin landed on alderaan.

Anakins pov:

Anakin sat at his desk in his new room at the palace in Alderaan, dipping his pen in ink as he wrote a letter to his beloved.

"My love, y/n. I've only been gone a week, but I still miss you dearly. My new room is nice; you'd love it. All the flowers here remind me of you. I can hear your voice in the wind and feel you in the lake. This will be a hard mission without hearing your voice. Please keep me updated on anything that goes on. I want to hear everything about your day, your missions, what you ate—anything.

Love,

Anakin"

Anakin folded the letter and placed the flower he had picked from the garden inside the envelope. He opened his window and sent the letter to you by a messenger droid, watching as the droid fluttered through the air into the dark sky.

Y/n's pov:

She sat on her window seat, reading the letter he had written to her. Tears pricked at her eyes as she realized that Anakin would be gone for 11 months, with no way of speaking to each other.

She moved swiftly to her desk, taking a seat before grabbing her pen and a piece of paper. "Dear Anakin," she began writing, "I've missed you terribly. The bed feels empty and cold without you in it with me. This week has been lonely and uneventful. I can't wait for the day I can be in your arms again, smell your hair, feel your skin, and be in your presence. I miss you, Ani. Love, Y/N."

As she finished writing, a tear dropped onto the page, leaving a wet mark on the paper.

She handed the letter to the droid and watched it fly away.

They had been writing to each other for months—the entire mission. Anytime Anakin had done something that reminded him of her or if he got hurt, he’d tell her in the letter. She’d do the same—any short mission she went on or any event that was going on at the temple, she told him.

It was the day of their anniversary when Anakin had sent her a small bouquet of flowers along with a note: "Happy anniversary, my love. I picked your favorite flowers from the garden at the palace. I hope you like them. Love, Anakin."

The flowers sat on her desk in a vase as she wrote back to him: "Thank you for the flowers, my love. They're beautiful. Anakin, I think of you all the time, now that you're gone. I miss coming home after a difficult mission to your comforting embrace. I miss your scent, seeing your smile, and feeling your hair. I eagerly await the day you return to me. Love, Y/n"

Anakin read the letter with tears in his eyes, thinking of how much he missed her. The thought of being away from her was devastating. He wanted nothing more than to get home and hold her close until they fell asleep. But he had to wait; only 3 more months.

Sorry for the wait for the second part being endless! Lmao. There will be a part 3 even though I wish I kept only being 2 parts. Hopefully I will finish part 3 quicker but hope you enjoy part 2!

It is said that falling in love comes easily. That there is such a thing as love at first sight. That soulmates can be met instantly.

Well, your first meeting with John was not what you heard about in stories of friends falling in love. Or in family stories told at your parents' next wedding anniversary.

It was completely different.

When you first met, you didn't seem nice or kind to him at all. But maybe that's what he needed. Maybe he just needed a harsh and rough tone. Maybe also a little rudeness. At that time, everyone felt sorry for him, patted him on the head or walked around him on eggshells.

And you were completely different. Years later, he always said that that spark of anger in your eyes attracted him to you from the very beginning.

Although you found it hard to believe, after all, he was your husband. Well, exactly - he was.

Another day had passed when you were in that house, every morning he asked you the same thing. Moreover, his short-term memory was problematic, but he remembered exactly what his missions were like 20 or 10 years ago.

”But what did you do yesterday Captain?"

“Oh, little dove, how could I forget a doll like you?”

Every day was the same. And you didn't cry about it anymore. Maybe it was better that way. One heart shattered into millions of pieces was enough.

Doctors said not to push, not to remind him of those worst, most difficult moments. That could have made his condition worse.

But he wasn't the same person he used to be.

He wasn't himself.

He wasn't Captain.

And even more than that, he was no longer your John.

He could look better physically, and many doctors, nurses in the hospital, tried to date him. Even the married ones. However, when it came to the story of this accident.

Well. He's stuck with three boys and you.

Despite the pain, you were unable to fully let go. Even though piece by piece you felt your heart being torn into more small, bloody fragments.

However, on the last day, when you are already sitting packed in the living room, waiting for the arrival of the person who will replace you. Someone who will take over the care. His phone rang.

And hearing his cheerful voice, you immediately knew who was calling.

His past. A person with whom he had experienced more seasons than with you. Someone he remembered. And what probably hurt you the most. His previous life came to an end long before. But it always made itself known at the least expected moments. Coming out of a dark corner, biting at ankles, pulling at shirt. Causing dark clouds to appear in your head again.

Because his previous family was still present. Even though he closed that chapter long before you were together, it still bothered you. It made you feel uncomfortable.

Now his laughter echoed in that empty big house, but it wasn't meant for you.

And you lose yourself once again in longing, in the need to be someone again. His.

“Oh, little dove, how could I forget a doll like you?”

And yet, he still didn't remember.

DRDT Chapter 2 Episode 13: Initial Thoughts

We're back again! I'm probably just gonna do one of these for every new episode this chapter at least, just because there's so much to talk about in all of them!

Basically, I'm going to run through my not-live-but-sort-of-live-thoughts of the episode, then at the end I'll give my thoughts on any more overarching theories/conversations that are relevant.

The Reactions

Knowing where Levi's explanation is going now that I'm rewatching, it makes sense that this is the first thing he'd think of in regards to the secret. It's not about the lives lost or his status of being a "murderer," it's the real, concrete consequences of his actions-- AKA, the law.

Just, like, 'cause, or...?

Honestly, this adds a really interesting flavor to when Levi does threaten Ace. He's like, "do you think I don't have limits to my patience?" The fact that there was any amount of patience in the first place is honestly pretty cool for Ace.

Also, I don't really have a good place to screenshot this, so I'll just mention it: the clock motif in the backing track is really cool!! Has that been there before and I haven't noticed, or is it new? I also definitely find it personally suspicious that we're getting clock sound effects while Levi is talking about murder (Eden killer/Levi accomplice moment??) but that's probably just my confirmation bias talking. It could also definitely be something about wasting time in the Trial, which a point is definitely made out of. It takes them a long time to start talking about the method, and Levi even mentions that he's sidetracking before he starts on this monologue.

Extremely funny reaction from Eden if they ARE in on this together btw. "Wait... you've killed, like, more people?? This isn't soul-crushingly deviating from the norm for you?????"

I get that this is the point, but lmao, Levi's really just saying these things like they're normal. Forget the murder charges, did you get in legal trouble for any of this stuff???

Oh Hope's Peak, always the shadiest people with absolutely terrible priorities. I feel like you could tell me Hope's Peak did, like, literally anything morally dubious in a fangan and I'd be like, "yeah, checks."

Shoutout to this anon for slam dunking it! The phrasing Levi used in the other scene makes more sense to me now that we know how Levi feels about all of this. The dialogue didn't imply any different feelings to Levi's father than the other members of his family because the fact that Levi killed him means, like, nothing to him.

Still, I wonder what actually prompted Levi killing his dad. Like, I feel like he must've been provoked, at least. Hopefully we'll learn why someday.

This episode had more of J being more vocally anti-murder than most. I still don't know if that's just because she's one of few characters who's both loud and has morals, or if it ties into some specific aspect of her character.

"I can't forget about the fact that Felicity died because of me under any circumstances ever!"

I hope Arturo and Levi talk more about their secrets in depth at some point. Totally get why they're opposites on the narrative foils thing.

"I mean, we all know why I tried to kill Ace."

(To be honest, though, I think David at minimum is upset about Arei dying though. More on that later. Eden too, possibly even if she did kill her.)

This is such an interesting thing to learn as a Levi accomplice theory truther. 'Cause like, on the one hand, it makes it more believable that Levi would do some thing that wild; if the other people don't really matter, it's easier to justify killing all of them. But, at the same time, if he doesn't care about Eden, either, why the hell is he helping her?

I'm gonna need to rewatch this episode once I know who this Trial's culprit is, because I am incapable of reading the Levi/Eden interactions as anything BUT horribly suspicious.

(Also, god, the good person jumpscare counter this episode was wilding.)

Nice to get a confirmation that Levi is still trying to be a good person, even if he doesn't understand what that means.

Wow. Didn't realize Ace was gonna throw some emotional vulnerability (???) into his fuck you Levi speech. Or that he actually genuinely believed they had more of a connection than he let on! Like I said to Accirax, he's such a tsundere that I didn't even realize he was a tsundere.

I hope we'll get to learn more about this guy at some point. I'd expect we will, if nothing else in the bonus episode that correlates with Ace's death (or in the main story, if he lives long enough to be a survivor). "His memory" definitely makes it sound like he's dead, though. Sad.

Shoutout to the AceVi shippers, though. This episode must've been a WILD ride for you.

Thanks for clarifying, Veronika! It's nice to have a character who likes to psychoanalyze the cast so that the writer can basically use her to clarify what other people are thinking. Useful writing tip.

This does provide some interesting context to that early scene where Arei manipulates and kinda makes fun of Levi, though. He really could've just decked her ass if he wanted to.

If so, it's a really good example of how little Levi understands about other people. Like, damn. You can't even tell with David??

To be fair, maybe all the stuff about ending the killing game confused him. Teruko and David are arguing about whether or not Xander was a good person. If everyone else can't even decide, how is Levi supposed to know?

I do wonder if this is somehow character commentary on Veronika. Like, let's say Veronika has also murdered somebody or something. Would this imply that this is something she'd be more concerned with others knowing, possibly because it's more personal?

I'm not really sure. It could just be that Veronika doesn't really have any secret she fears at all, so they were at kind of a loss.

David: Achoo! Ah-- Bless me!

David: Teruko. Own up to your goddamn secret already. You are the last person to do so.

I so think David knows Teruko's real secret. Like, there's no way.

Interestingly, though, I read Teruko's hesitation towards answering David as her trying to figure out which secret belongs to Min. It's easier for everyone involved if Teruko and Xander's are backwards rather than it being a triangle scenario.

Yay!!! Even if I still think it's partially wrong!

Eden: W... wait! Before we move on! I have to know. David... What happened between you and Arei?

I'm still inclined to read this as Eden having not believed Arei back when she declared she wanted to be friends. Eden is still trying to get at the truth of the matter, because she can't just have killed Arei without knowing how badly she fucked up.

There's definitely still an innocent reading out there, too, though.

Arei: If even a perfect inspirational speaker like you turns out to be an asshole, then there's no such thing as a "good person."

This was a really interesting direction to take this conversation, for both Arei and David's characters. It's true that they both lie about their personality often to get their way; Arei's lie is just WAY easier to see through. It makes sense that it's something they could bond over.

However, the INSANE thing is that this means that David probably actually cares about Arei. Like, to a meaningful extent. Maybe it's just the Kazui vibes, but I feel like if anyone actually understands David enough to see through him, that would be really impactful to him.

Also, the vibes on this scene were wild. The Arvid (????????) shippers sure could have a field day with this one.

But, of course, we can't forget:

...WHAT????

Okay, so first of all, I have no idea if David actually knows/remembers this or if it's just meant for the audience. But, either way, this thing is crazy.

The first thing I noticed was definitely the fork; is that the same fork that we see in the opening sequence?? The one commonly thought to be of when Xander lost his eye?

I know there's some LGI stuff with the fork too, but I'm not going to dive into that right now. I think Accirax is touching on this more strongly in hers.

The other thing is, I have NO idea what this says about Eden culprit theory. I definitely still think it's possible that this is a level of lore that's gonna follow Eden to her death and give her a reason to haunt the narrative, but this could also be something that we're going to explore later.

The main reason why I think this could lead into her death is because as far as we know, Eden doesn't remember anything included in this flashback. If Eden doesn't know about the lore, it's sort of weird if we, the audience, have this vague piece of knowledge about her that she doesn't. It's not a death sentence or anything, but I think it could still be in line.

I'll leave the speculation as to what exactly this means for another post/another theorist. Right now, my guess is that there might've been some kind of other killing game with this class before, or something. But, I'm DEFINITELY both alarmed and intrigued.

Arei: Even she must've made a mistake she couldn't take back.

The inclusion of "mistake" in this section is really interesting to me. Is that referring to whatever we see here? Was it a mistake she later came to regret?

Or, I also think this could actually be a reference to Arei. Not the image itself, but the mistake. If Eden genuinely believed Arei wouldn't change and killed her, only to realize Arei was being sincere, that's a mistake she couldn't take back.

I wonder if this is going to be Arei's last voice line (in the main series, I'd expect she'll talk in the bonus episodes).

If so, I think it's a nice way to end her character arc. Not only is she trying to be friends with Eden to be better, she's also able to reach out to someone like her and help them, too.

David: ...Nothing. Absolutely nothing. I didn't say anything to her, and she didn't have much to say to me either.

This was CRAZY. I was expecting we were all gonna have to play the "to what extent is David lying" game again, but instead, it seems like it all MUST'VE been real, because it came straight from his mind because he didn't even say it!!

It's funny to me that he says he didn't say anything to her, because from what we saw, that was... accurate, maybe?? Was David really just standing there bluescreening that entire time? Like, man loves his elipses, but goddamn, don't leave her hanging! /j /ref

It's also interesting that David is keeping this from the class, and more specifically, from Eden, who Arei clearly liked. Is it because the moment is personal, and he doesn't want to share it? Or, does he have suspicions about who her killer might be or how to catch him that would interfere with him sharing?

Anyways. Wild.

David: One hundred and one percent, I promise. Ace overheard everything, and what he told you all was the entire truth. Does that satisfy you?

I wonder if Ace stopped listening for real, or if there's a chance he heard all of this. If so, I wonder why he's not calling David out. Is he still coping too hard over the Levi thing?

Whit: Dang, we really got hung up on those secrets, didn't we? I thought you all would be on those for years. MonoTV: Years indeed. Some people had to wait one year and five months for you to get this far.

I KNEW MonoTV and/or Whit would make a joke about the time gap! Hope that one doesn't get lost in translation for the people who join the fandom after the hiatus, lol.

Teruko: They filled those jugs up with water and used them to increase Arei's weight.

Oh hell yeah.

Veronika: I'm not an expert, of course, but my intuition tells me that jumping off the top of the swing set isn't enough to break Arei's neck.

Whit: The way hanging normally works is that the victim is put in a noose with enough slack in the rope that they're unharmed. It's only when the victim falls from a high location to a low location that the rope becomes tight, and the noose strangles them.

Very interesting to have Veronika call attention to the fact that she's not an expert shortly before Whit goes into a long explanation of the mechanics of hanging, including with bolded words for emphasis/added ethos. I definitely think we're supposed to notice that he knows this for... some reason.

I know Accirax's theory is that Whit's mom might have hung herself, which is... dark, if true. Like, that means that after the fact, Whit probably hyper-researched how hanging works. Yikes.

Also, I honestly didn't get why people were saying Whit was so sus before the hiatus, but I feel like it's been cranked up afterwards??? Whit are you the mastermind I thought you were chill??????

Whit: It's not like you can grab the rope when she's falling to stop it at the right time. If she's moving at a speed fast enough to snap her neck, I'm sure trying to stop it would shred your hands.

Caught between "yeah that's why they used the stopper rope" and "IS THE USING THE GLOVE TO STOP THE THING STILL REAL???"

Wow. What an episode. We truly learned so much.

Theory Update/Analysis

Okay, so I already yapped about most of the character stuff for a while in here. Similarly, I don't think all too much changed for my murder theory.

I'm still tentatively on Levi accomplice, but firmly on Eden culprit. The way I see this going is towards a Nico bait that goes nowhere because they have an alibi, then eventually causing the class to realize the culprit has to be one of the people who saw Nico's original murder method (who doesn't have an alibi)-- Eden, Ace or Teruko.

From there, they can discuss the Arei murder method more thoroughly, eventually circling back to the fish. That confuses the time of death more than anything.

Eventually, the tape can be the damning evidence. Or that could happen before the fish, not sure.

In summary, I liked this episode a lot! It's exciting that we're finally starting to get answers to the murder method that we all went so insane over.

2) A piece you're proud of and why

There's a lot of stories I'm very pleased and proud of but one I don't talk about too much around here since it's not fanfic is my book, Everything I Need. Writing a novel as you and many other writers can understand is hard. It's not like writing fanfic. There's more rules, more scrutiny, more of making it "perfect".

This wasn't the first time I ever wrote something of length but these are original characters that I made up with their own quirks and lives in this imaginary little town. It's like an onion, it's got layers. And I'm just so incredibly proud that I managed to pull it together and put it out there for the world.

I'll be the first to admit, I have the memory of a goldfish when it comes to remembering the names of fics I like. I also didn't do a ton of fic reading this year (but I did read 44 books!) but these are some of the ones I know I throughly enjoyed!

17) The creation that took the least amount of time

I'm pretty sure Imagine...Discovering Soldier Boy's Secret took me like...20 mins max to write, if that. Granted it's not a particularly long fic but that was very much a wrote it and was good with it immediately kind of deal.

18) The creation that took the most amount of time

Easily been The Villain's Protector and Part 3 of that story (par 4 will come someday, I promise). I just don't know what it is about that one but it's like pulling teeth trying to put words to page even though I have the story mapped out mostly. Some days it feels like a waste of time to continue it so I end up working other things since the writer block remains there. Hopefully it's just a hump in there that I can get over!

Hi, Red Spring anon here again (I couldn't think of a better name lol) :-D I have come with some ramblings and a few questions bec I am too curious for my own good.

So, I have come to the conclusion that since Red Spring was not mentioned in your guys' response (:0 you guys responded! woah - me) I am going to assume that it might (!) happen. I hope. If not, then I guess I'll sit in my room staring into the distance while the kazoo cover of "My Heart Will Go On" (from the Titanic movie, which I still have not seen yet, lol) plays loudly (/j). If you're doing it tho (or plan on maybe doing it, this blog has been up for, like, a week so far, I don't expect y'all to have your entire plot ready yet lol) don't tell me! I want the surprise when I (1:) play the game, or when I (2:) get to help with the game (hopefully) and thereby spoil myself.

I also had the funny thought earlier that since there are a bunch of Watcher Apprentices watching the games through the other players, does that mean our wonderful WC just keeps ending up with the winners of each season? Because if so, that's really funny. WC either has extreme mc energy or is unreasonably lucky and either way it's hilarious.

So, y'know that one Instagram thingy of Jimmy praying to the Watchers? Will that be in the game (or can we influence Jimmy in some way)? I just think it'd be a cool thing to have in the story, like a brief peek into the mind of 1 Jimmy Solidarity. Or just whatever he's praying about, I guess. Idk how praying to the op eldritch beings works. If not, weeeell it just happened off camera and that's why it's not in the game, clearly, because I am definitely, 100% a game dev, I'm the secret one and I steal your internet speeds (/j).

Also, on Porl because I had an idea. So, she goes all insane and stuff in cannon, but can we potentially have the divorce squad *not* be the divorce squad? Can we have Pearl and Scott and Tilly (and Pearl's other 50 million doggos) as a happy little family? Can we somehow ruin the divorce squad even more? They're just so fun and messed up, I love them.

Also, kind of a joke question but also kind of not (i'd be funny if this was treated with 100% gravity for no reason), can we definitively prove that Etho is washed up? Can we disprove this? Can we at least make him pay child support for his children (/j)???

Also (I will find a better word to use someday I swear), I am excited for the snails. I don't know how it's gonna work but I'm excited nonetheless. I also read this fic where everyone was *really* sleep deprived because of the murder snails and I think that'd be funny to show by all of the sprites looking like they haven't slept in 48 hours, thank you for coming to my TED talk, that's literally all I have to say rn.

And, last but not least, Joel should hit Scott with his car, that's actually part of the True Ending, where Joel just drives around committing traffic violations and hitting people with his car instead of winning and then the Watchers come down from Watcher Land or wherever they live (i forgot the name but Watcher Land sounds like an amusement park so it's staying) and so Joel hits them with his car too trust me this is how he wins Life(tm).

Jimmy praying to eldritch deities™️ would be pretty neat! Maybe in battle he could get a move that the next turn gives him a boost! Ooooooh, and there could be a chance that boost either doesn't happen at all or ends up being a nerf? :0 That would be a good idea to spice up battles, but out of that there could be maybe a little hidden Jimmy altar in the overworld, a funny reference to that, special cutscene and all! Just don't steal our internet pretty please :D

About the Divorce Squad, we can surely include them like a dysfunctional family instead of whatever they had going on in Double Life, all depending on your choices as a WC, we just need to take the script and try to solve it in a way that makes sense, but we will figure it out. Also about Etho, picture me this: he is a pretty mighty opponent in Third Life, we nerf him in Last Life, then nerf him more in Double Life to the point of just being support for Joel, and then in LimLife you can just one-shot him with any move and has a special move called "absent father" that makes him run away from any battle, but if you are able to defeat him, he gives you an item called "child support money" that you then give to Cleo, how's that? >:3 /j, probably

when or if I started shipping it: I started shipping it approximately 2 years ago during my rewatch at the time. I honestly didn't watch things with a shipping lens much before 2020/2021, so it just hadn't occurred to me before.

my thoughts: I love them. They obviously have something going on, and no one can convince me that John isn't some flavor of queer. I love them as endgame, I love them as a hot mess, I love them as Rodney's first queer experience, I love them as a dirty little secret, I love them openly flaunting regs, I love them in AUs, I love them meeting in every universe (looking at you, Vegas), I love how weird they are together and how even if it's not romantic, there's something undeniably strong between them.

What makes me happy about them: They found each other! They are both the kind of people who would've been incredibly lonely on the Atlantis mission alone (I know Rodney has friends, but he's the boss of a lot of them, and none of them are close like John is). They match each other's dorkiness and snark and can keep up with each other and do stupid things like throwing Rodney off a balcony.

What makes me sad about them: There's a lot standing in their way, from DADT to Rodney's dream of a blonde who can give him children to John's various levels of fucked up. And they have so much capacity to be sad. They are sad so much in the show. But it's the kind of sadness I can sink my teeth into and really enjoy. I never finished any of my really sad fics with them, but hopefully someday I'll get back into writing them. And some of my favorite fics to read are very sad. Even if them together isn't necessarily sad, they have a lot of opportunity for their backstory to be sad.

things done in fanfic that annoys me: Gosh, it's been a while since I read McShep that annoyed me, and I don't really remember.

things I look for in fanfic: either really angsty or really fluffy. I love a fluffy au, and I love an angsty canon compliant fic. But mostly I don't usually look for anything specific to McShep - it'll be more that I'm looking for independent Atlantis, or Ancient wackiness, or something like that and then secondarily look for McShep (or just enjoy it if it happens to be there)

My kinks: math (which is, in this case, a subset of competence), D/s, bondage (you can't convince me John doesn't like being tied up, at least a little bit)

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: pretty much anyone, although not Katie for McKay without a whole personality transplant. I've written McLorne, and I absolutely adored Ana's fic where McShep didn't work out and John ended up with Parrish instead (I think about it often). I'm very happy as a multishipper for them. I also really like them as part of a poly situation.

My happily ever after for them: there are so many possibilities! But I guess I would say getting to be together on Atlantis (preferably an independent Atlantis) surrounded by the friends that have become family.

"You're really pregnant? How many months? How big is the baby right now?" Holly took in her sister's news during a quick visit to see her in Brindleton Bay.

"Two months, and not very big. About the size of a plum, I think."

"Wow! I can't believe I'm going to be an auntie! What are you and Malcolm going to do about it?"

"I'm going to raise the baby alone, actually. I haven't told him yet."

Holly's eyes bulged. "Are you sure you know what you're getting into? Have you talked to Mom and Dad?"

Heather shook her head. "I haven't been home to Henford in a while and I don't want to tell them this news over the phone."

Less than an hour after Holly left to return to San Myshuno, Heather's mother called. "Holly tells me we need to have you over for dinner tonight."

Heather rolled her eyes and laughed. "Of course she did. What are you cooking?"

When Heather arrived in Henford, she was shocked to see her mother with leafy hair and green skin. A tree with a thick trunk and feathery lilac leaves stood in the yard next to their cowplant skeleton, and Neal glanced at his green-haired wife with a loving shake of his head. "You actually did it!" Heather cried. Daisy had grown a portal to an enchanted forest with magic beans, plucked a forbidden fruit, and eaten it whole. "Does it feel weird only needing the sun to refill your hunger?"

Time has come. So what do you think about Cross x Nightmare, Killer x Nightmare and Error x Nightmare? (yeah, 3 in one hehe)

I kinda understand first 2 but the third one was always questionable for me

I realize now an ask like this is probably asking for my opinions on the ship rather than yapping about hcs.... Personally not a big fan of nightmare ships! Just because of how I see nightmare I'm just not sure if he could? Even if my version of him is different then canon (you'll see him...someday). Idk my view of him is weird. For this, I'll just go with assumption Nightmare can love unlike the canon. For fun of course! I'm a canon bender what can I say.

Crossmare I personally have never really gotten. Their relationship is? Not good in anyway and I don't?? really see cross actually liking nightmare? Perhaps I just missed something but I believe Cross saw their relationship as transactional. Same goes for nightmare of course. I don't see it going beyond that. But like go off bro ✨

Killermare however I can see the appeal. As I said, don't really know much about killer. However, the head and the henchmen? Yeah, I like that trope lol. I like to think they have a sort push and pull dynamic that while yes Killer have a sorta...dependent relationship killer isn't like?? trusting of nightmare at first?? Eugh its hard for me to word but like... killer has a bit of pull back and isn't just... an softie i suppose? I see Nightmare actually enjoying the presence of Killer over other characters. They would have a spicy (not as in sexual though I love the hc that killer is asexual LMAO) dynamic though. There's probably a better word but I can't think of it rn. Unlike cross killer has more... uh? feistiness to him ig. Not that cross wouldn't have but I suppose I mean killer's words could actually have an impact on nightmare while I don't think cross could ever effect nightmare. Hopefully I worded that correctly. Also like... killer enjoys killing and cross doesn't? I find from what I've found (which is like two comics so far I'll finish it all someday...) of their canonical dynamic quite fascinating.

Errormare I can't really see either. I could maybe see them working together if they had too but only then. Especially since Error would be a PAIN to work with. Unlike someone like Ink, Nightmare wouldn't allow himself to be friends/in relations with someone if he was constantly interrupting his plans or interceding his goals. Error would do that since he destroys aus and Nightmare wants to keep these aus around to feed off their negativity. Idk I feel like Error wouldn't listen to nightmare and that would annoy the hell out him LMAO! Maybe if they both went on a ✨ self care ✨ journey they could be like redemption bros or something

SPRING ANIME 2024 FINAL THOUGHTS

So just like I did months ago with my first impressions post, here are my final thoughts on every anime I started watching that was ongoing this season. I'm gonna list them as they end to be more organized and not have it jump around, so before we start, here's a quick section about the anime I dropped:

Astro Note: I forgot it existed past the first episode not gonna lie lol, I'll probably resume it in the future since it was a fun first episode but other than that nothing else to say

High Speed Etoilé: I wanted to like this so badly, the story could've been interesting but from what I saw it never hooked me at all, plus the 3d was very rigid so overall it wasn't as good to continue

Spice & Wolf: This is one I'll surely resume in the future, I was liking what I was seeing but one day I just lost track of it and never returned. What I saw left me with a very good taste so this is one that I have to resume someday

Okay, now we can begin:

DUNGEON MESHI

Started watching this one when it was at episode 18 and caught up to it really quickly. I honestly wasn't expecting to like it for some reason but as soon as I started it I knew it was gonna be a fun ride altogether. Nice characters, a good story, excellent animation (I mean it's Trigger but this is like my 2nd anime from them) and food that I would 100% eat if it was real lol. I'm glad it's getting a 2nd season because I really wanna see how it continues

BARTENDER: KAMI NO GLASS

This was beautiful, what else can I say? I mean I knew that this anime would be different after watching the first episode, even joking to myself while watching it ''This is premium anime'' lol. Everything from start to finish had this soothing vibe to it that I absolutely enjoyed and not gonna lie I think from episode 6 onward it knew how to push the right buttons on me to make me more and more emotional, by the time I finished the final episode I was on tears of happiness hearing the credits. I don't know how the original was but I think this is a gem of an anime that surely deserves to be talked about more

YORU NO KURAGE WA OYOGENAI

It never stopped delivering peak, back when the first episode aired I knew it would be something special, and while it felt just a little aimless past the episode of their first concert, I think in the end it wrapped up the main points kinda nicely. This is a show that got me feeling emotional on a near weekly basis and always knew how to share banger episodes. Even if it wasn't yuri in the end it was still a beauty of an anime in my opinion, it only needs to polish a few small things here and there to be basically a masterpiece imo and hopefully the manga that is coming along with it can do it

SHUUMATSU TRAIN DOKO E IKU?

This was such a fun ride overall, I gotta admit back on the first episodes I had a feeling this would be something that would break me when they were close to Ikebukuro, but even if in the end it didn't it was still a really good ride from beginning to end. One thing I liked was how the conversations between the girls were a bit faster than in most anime out there, I don't know but that made them feel more natural to me, it was cool to see all of them interact with the weirdness of the world and ngl this finale actually moved me a little lol. Not the best but still a pretty good one all in all

PS: Both the Opening and Ending here are severely underrated, Ga-Ton Go-Ton is on my top 3 for OPs this season and Eureka is easily my favorite ED for the season, both of them are just so good both visually and musically it's surprising to say the least

[AKNK April Fool 2023] Butlers' Lie

A short summary of the cut scenes that happen if you log in during April Fool. I forgot to record everything, so I'm pulling these from memory (which, sadly, isn't that reliable). Heavily paraphrased. Feel free to point out any mistake(s).

Berrien - made a resolution to overcome his fear of bugs by keeping a butterfly's eggs (?) "I'm sorry Master, it was a lie. I didn’t keep any eggs, but it's true that I want to rid my fear of bugs. Therefore, hopefully someday we can walk together in the garden, enjoying the scenery."

Lono - greeted us in keigo (JP formal language) and claims he has mastered it then burst out laughing.

Bastien - claims he is able to understand and talk in cat language. "It was a lie but it would be nice if it were real. Maybe I should I ask Muu to teach me. How about we learn together, Master?"

Haures - he's now a master of baking and can successfully make anything even with eyes closed (?) "That I'm a master baker was a lie, but I truly want to be able to succeed someday so I'll keep learning."

Fennesz - today's dinner is mushroom stew! With the freshly picked mushroom I cultivated in the garden(?). Well, it's true the dinner is mushroom stew, but not from the garden. "To take anything from the garden, we need Ammon's permission after all."

Boschi - claim to have overcome dislikes of vegetables. "I'm asparagus lover now! ...Nah, what a joke. I'll never say such things. Be careful, Master. If you ever see someone with my face saying he likes veggies, that's how you know that is not me."

Ammon - "Master, notice something different about me today?" No, the master doesn't. Ammon invites us to take a closer look before claiming he now has his piercing underneath his tongue instead of ears. "Well, that was a lie. Nothing about my piercings changed, sorry about that, Master. Your serious face looking for the answer was cute though."

Lamli - "I've never told anyone this but I used to be a cat a long time ago!" Yeah, that was the lie. Then he keeps going how Nac is actually more cat-like than him with his heterochromia. "Should I call him Nyakku?"

Lucas - new season, new resolution! He's going to stop drinking from now on! Well, April Fool. He's not. "But I do find myself restrain more when you're around, Master. Think you can stay on the manor to be with us for today? Eh, this is not part of the lie, you know."

Nac - claim to have overcome his meat phobia. And then a story about Lamli fed him fried frogs??? (I'm horrified I have so little memories of the story)

Lato - "A special day where you're allowed to tell lies? How strange for humans to have such a day, given without it, they lie on daily basis." Rather than lying, he'd make true (force) the words he says. His wishes are: to go to a parsley field with Master, to watch ants in the garden with Master, and for the Master to remain in the manor. [Note: There's a mention of a book though I forgot the details about this. Does the book grant any wishes that are written on it?]

Flure - says "actually I-" and then stops there, giving up because he remembers Lato hate lies. Flure had wanted to say that he had successfully get Lato to quit calling/referring him as his little brother. Then Lato appears, saying, "To stop your lie midway just because you remember I hate those... As I thought, my little brother is a really kindhearted person." After he walks away, Flure: "If you heard what my lie was I do hope you stop calling me that though..." [Note: Flure's expression is slightly comical in my opinion, so this scene is actually rather heartwarming in its entirety]

Miyaji - claims he has grown taller by 2 cm, thus making his head bump into things more often. Well, the former is a lie but the latter is truth. Miyaji: wait, could it be I've gotten taller for real?

Teddy - impersonating Yuuhan, claiming that's who he really is after the classic collide-onto-each-other-then-switch-bodies scenario.

Yuuhan - likewise, he impersonates Teddy.

Hanamaru - claims that Yuuhan calls him 'Dad' in his sleep-talk. "How does that sound, Master? Isn't it amusing?" Yuuhan, in eerie smile and a voice I imagine colder than the Antarctica, "No, not at all." Hanamaru jumps in surprise. Yuuhan: How audacious of you to claim I sleep-talk when it's you who has to be waken up every morning by Teddy and I... Master, can I borrow Hanamaru for a moment?

5. Do you respond to comments? I try my best with my ADHD brain. I truly appreciate when people take the time to let me know their thoughts.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Hmm. Not sure since some haven't ended some of them yet. Maybe Plans? Since we know what happens in canon.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Probably It Had To Be You with it's two part epilogue of fluff.

8. Do you get hate on fics? Sigh. Yes. One of the many reasons I've lost my enthusiasm for writing Harry and Hermione fanfics.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Yes, though often against my better judgement haha. I have no idea what to classify it as. Maybe I'll borrow Kelsey's word and say vanilla.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? Nope!

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not sure.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Maybe? I've had people ask, but unsure if they are posted.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Yes, hopefully will get back to it someday!

14. What’s your all time favorite ship? Hmmm I've had so many over the years. The only ones I've attempted to write though have been Harmony and Jily. They've also been consistent since childhood.

Special shout out to my teenage love of Pacey and Joey from Dawson's Creek, even though adult me thinks he deserves better and that show is terrible.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? At this point it feels like all of them 🙈

16. What are your writing strengths? No clue. I've been told I write emotion well. I've also been complimented on my ability to write children realistically.

17. What are your writing weaknesses? Probably grammar and sentence structure, I still feel lost a lot of the time when it comes to all of that. I earned to write in English after learning French though it's my native language, and I see how it still impacts me. Also, I tend to be the worst with over writing and then having to edit the hell out everything!

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

If it makes sense in the story. I've seen it work well in a lot of literary books I've read. And one scene in particular from UaS (if you know, you know).

19. First fandom you wrote for? Harry Potter. One and only (so far).

20. Favourite fic you’ve written? Hmm I'm probably proudest of Maybe Tomorrow. It's one that feels personal in ways that are hard to explain. I also think I grew a lot as a writer while working on it.

In terms of Jily, I've really enjoyed my drabbles that aren't on archive. I do hope to expand on some of them someday.
