the illustrious reign of hopeflash's descendants has come to an end. i didn't even realize downybranch, hopeflash's daughter, had died until i suddenly noticed slopequake in the position of deputy. slopequake was an abandoned kit and thus has zero connection to hopeflash...

but i mean, their colors sure are still similar 🤔

the nepotism deputy has passed away from birth... lowkey upset about this one because i was excited to see what her kits would look like 😭

... but the nepotism CONTINUES.

currently recovering from a sprain, downybranch has been named the new deputy. downybranch is ALSO a daughter of hopeflash, the deputy previous to coppershine. she and weedspots (who doesn't even have spots??) are the last of hopeflash's kits.

i have also just now realized that graymask, the mate of bumblestar, is the daughter of beechraven... who is ALSO a hopeflash kit, thus being hopeflash's grandkit. holy moly this whole clan is just nepotism babies everywhere. hopeflash went from kittypet to practically ruling this clan with her family.

i will know for a fact that hopeflash somehow set her family up for life if this pattern continues with the kits coppershine left behind.

145 moons into moonclan. all clan founders have passed on to starclan, leaving behind a new generation to follow in their pawsteps. the legacy of sweetstar, an abandoned kittypet, is unmistakable, as most of moonclan’s ranks subsist of kittypets, loners, and half-clan cats, all united by the compassion that sweetstar instilled in the ranks of his clan.

the current ranking is:

bumblestar, newly appointed leader. formerly a kittypet. a wise and excellent fighter, they were the last deputy selected by sweetstar.

hopeflash, retired deputy. formerly a kittypet. a bold and brilliant speaker, her quick wit earned her position. she had an affair with the previous leader, sweetstar. she held her position temporarily until eventually, old age got to her, and she chose to retire. she helps provide her insight to bumblestar and the new deputy, coppershine.

coppershine, the newest deputy. a clanborn cat, she is the daughter of hopeflash, which may have been what earned her position. at only nineteen moons, many cats have questioned bumblestar's decision in elevating such a young, fresh warrior to this position.

echorise, longstanding medicine cat. left abandoned as a kit at moonclan's border. he was primrosestrike's last apprentice, and carries her memory close to heart. he is easily jealous, and struggles in his connection with starclan.

notable cats:

ken, a former kittypet warrior who made it back after being recaptured by twolegs, choosing to return to his clan at the first chance he got. no longer does he want to remain with twolegs, as moonclan has taught him true loyalty.

graymask, a former loner. she is the mate of bumblestar, and often provides her insight. her great wisdom and intelligence has other cats seeking her out often.

SWEETSTAR?? bro changed ever since streakhollow died. i can’t believe he would cheat on whispermuzzle simply bcuz he’s now in the elders’ den. clearly a sign that this man cannot stay loyal unless his mate stays deputy status.

well, the era of the first leader, sweetstar, has come to an end. he went from everybody’s favorite, to entering a downward spiral ever since streakhollow died. he cheated on his new mate, whispermuzzle, with hopeflash, and generally struggling with appearing competent in front of his clanmates. all of his apprentices died before he did, as did both of his mates.

he lost one life saving mosstail from drowning, and then lost ALL EIGHT REMAINING LIVES to a dog pack, holy moly.

rip sweetstar. time for a new leader era.

with these three, our numbers go back up to 13, but the last few death events have absolutely decimated moonclan’s numbers :’) i haven’t been able to get even a second page in the cat list, this clan’s luck has been SO bad.
