Honeywell's Advanced Air Mobility Business Reaches $10 Billion In Wins To Help Build The Future Of Sustainable Flight

In its Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) business segment, Honeywell, a major force in aircraft innovation and technology, has secured contracts worth more than $10 billion, marking a noteworthy accomplishment. This accomplishment is the result of the unit's collaboration with leading companies in the field, including Archer Aviation, Lilium, Pipistrel, Supernal, and Vertical Aerospace, which it formed a little over three years ago.

Honeywell Aerospace's David Shilliday, vice president and general manager of Advanced Air Mobility, stressed that this achievement is a testament to the company's unwavering commitment to influencing the direction of advanced air mobility and aviation, not just a financial milestone. According to Shilliday, same-day package delivery will be possible in every inhabited area of the world in 45 minutes or less for trips of 100 miles or more.

Due to its broad product line, which provided the basis for its entry into this dynamic business, Honeywell has been successful in the AAM market. By acting as the "brains, muscles, and senses" of the aircraft, the company's products take advantage of its vast experience in the aerospace industry. Acting as the "brain" of cockpit operations is the next-generation Honeywell Anthem avionics system. As for advanced vehicles, the company's fly-by-wire technologies and specially designed actuation systems serve as the "muscles," offering accurate flight controls and redundancy. The "senses" that enable these aircraft to be both intelligent and aware of their surroundings come from a variety of sensors, including the AH2000 attitude heading reference system and the RDR-84K radar.

Lilium's Chief Operating Officer, Yves Yemsi, hailed Honeywell's nose-to-tail technology as revolutionary, elevating pilots' experience while establishing new benchmarks for sustainability and safety.

With the P-8, Canada guarantees the interchangeability of allies NORAD and FIVE EYES.

The government of Canada signed a letter of offer and acceptance of foreign military sales for up to 16 Boeing P-8A Poseidon aircraft, as part of the Canadian Multimission Aircraft Project (CMMA).

Canada joins eight defense partners, including all allies of FIVE EYES, the intelligence alliance that also includes the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand, and becomes the fifth NATO nation to have selected the P-8 as its multi-mission aircraft. The first delivery is scheduled for 2026.

“The P-8 will strengthen Canada's defense capability and readiness, and we look forward to delivering that capability to the Royal Canadian Air Force,” said Heidi Grant, president of Business Development at Boeing Defense, Space & Security. “Together with our Canadian partners, we will deliver a strong package of industrial and technological benefits that will ensure continued prosperity for Canada's aerospace and defense industry.”

The P-8 is the only proven in-service and production solution that meets all CMMA requirements, including range, speed, strength and payload capacity. This decision will benefit hundreds of Canadian companies and bring decades of prosperity to Canada through the support of the platform provided by our Canadian industrial partners.

The acquisition of P-8 will generate benefits of almost 3,000 jobs and $358 million annually in economic output for Canada, according to a 2023 independent study by Ottawa-based Doyletech Corporation.

“This is a very important day for the Royal Canadian Air Force and Boeing,” said Charles 'Duff Sullivan, managing director of Boeing Canada. "The P-8 offers unparalleled capabilities and is the most affordable solution for acquisition and life cycle maintenance costs. There is no doubt that the P-8 will protect Canada's oceans and borders for future generations."

The partnership with Canadian industry will provide long-term economic prosperity to Canada.

The Poseidon Team is the cornerstone of Boeing's Canadian P-8 industrial partnership, composed of CAE, GE Aviation Canada, IMP Aerospace & Defense, KF Aerospace, Honeywell Aerospace Canada, Raytheon Canada and StandardAero. The team is based on the 81 existing Canadian suppliers for the P-8 platform and more than 550 Boeing suppliers in all provinces, contributing to the company's annual economic benefit of approximately CAD$ 4 billion for Canada, supporting more than 14,000 Canadian jobs.

With more than 160 aircraft delivered or in service and 560,000 collective flight hours, the P-8 has proven capabilities for anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and humanitarian assistance/disaster relief response.

Almost three years have already passed since Eastern Air Lines' demise when three of its very early production Boeing 757s still await their future in the dry Nevada desert climate. A future they will find within another year:

N504EA in front, Boeing 757 line-number 5, will go to British leisure carrier Airtours International, later MyTravel Airways, as G-JALC in January 1995 and serve it until 2005 when Honeywell buys and converts her to an inflight test-bed and laboratory. As N757HW she is still active to the present day.

N501EA in the middle, Boeing 757 line-number 2, will find employment with NASA as N557NA sometime in 1994, where she is used for atmospheric and environmental research duties.

N505EA in the back, Boeing 757 line-number 6, will keep her sister N504EA company and also migrate to the UK to fly for Airtours International and MyTravel Airways, carrying the tailmark G-PIDS, until retired and sold for parts to the US in 2006.

I just feel like if people wanna talk about how boycotting doesn't work they're like...I feel like they don't understand somethings. 1) Money talks, in the world we are in money matters so when people start losing money esp CEOs or whatever that's when they start shaking in they boots, Yemeni people and Indigenous groups got in they boats and started blocking ships and people started taking note cause it was affecting their business

Like have we not seen reports of McDonald's and Starbucks losing money because of people boycotting?

Also, there is the BDS specific lists they have on their website, those for the average consumer, those for larger companies, pressure boycotts (I think the ones where it's a use only as needed i.e. Google and Amazon).

Then I mean to even go beyond that I wonder how many people really have looked into the companies that are funded by Israel. Like Ferrero is on the boycott list, they are in partnership with girl scout cookies like they are a part of the bakery, Honeywell makes Heaters and AC units if you live in the US and you have central AC they could possibly be powering your homes AC/heat, and Proctor and Gamble, Dove, Tampax, Always are on there too they make hygiene products, or for instance when I used to think of Nestle I was like oh the chocolate company but they also make water (or bottle it persay) they also own hot pockets, even freaking wal-mart is on the list and I know some people will not be able to boycott that

And this is just taking about Palestine.

I saw most horrific video yesterday of a woman in Congo talking about what soldiers did to her and her husband like her face is burned into my brain. And it's all for what? Phones and Cars and Tablets and Vapes. You know I bought a phone a year or two ago and that thing kicked the bucket after maybe a year but I turned on my older phone and I'm still using it now, so imagine us just not getting the new iPhone or Samsung (cause some ppl harping on Apple like 99 percent of tech companies are complicit) like children women and men are dying for what? And for why? So imagine if we all said keep it I'm good.

The power and the reach of boycotting is not to be understated imo and ppl writing it off as easy must not be seeing the laundry list of companies that are complicit in genocide in what is modern day slavery like...

I mean it's like I'm not perfect by no means but it's like if you don't want to boycott say that, if you don't always have the means that's understandable but don't lie and say it can't work or doesn't because the facts are that it does. At the very least it can help you be mindful of your consumption and where your money goes

Harry and Meghan have yet to publicly speak about last week’s episode of South Park, presumably because they don’t have the staff left to formulate a press release. But California sources claim that Meghan has spent the past few days ‘upset and overwhelmed’ about how she was portrayed.

If you’ve read anything about Harry and Meghan over the past three years, you’d think the pair would be delighted with how South Park parodied them. The entire episode, titled ‘The Worldwide Privacy Tour’, gives them enough fodder to moan for a few more books… or Netflix documentaries… or Spotify podcasts. Meghan can cry about how she is a victim of misogyny and Harry can claim that this was all a narrative concocted by the big, bad press.

In fairness, South Park didn’t hold back. Meghan is described as a ‘sorority girl, actress, influencer, victim’ by a brand manager during the episode. Later on, Harry has an awakening, realising that their obsession with branding has made them ‘turn ourselves into products’. He claims that there will be ‘no more magazines and Netflix shows, we can just live a normal life’. However, when he leaves, Meghan decides to stay – so the prince exits alone.

Ironically, after the episode aired, rumours began circulating that Harry and Meghan were so frustrated with the show that they are now ‘taking it out on each other’. At least their spousal disagreements are taking place in a nine-bedroom, 16-bathroom mansion. No awkward passings in the hallway for them.

Sources claim that Meghan ‘is annoyed by South Park but refuses to watch it all’. But for Meghan, this couldn’t have come at a worse time. The duchess is said to be ‘obsessed with her half-sister’s litigation’. Meghan’s half-sister Samantha Markle is suing her for defamation following their tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey. The duchess had previously filed a motion to stop depositions in the case from taking place, but it was dismissed by Florida judge Charlene Edwards Honeywell this month.

Then there’s a coronation. Meghan and Harry are supposedly ‘weighing up’ whether they will attend or not, but according to sources close to her the duchess ‘feels excluded’ from the whole thing. Probably better to leave it then.

Aside from all of this, the pair have been made aware that nosey journalists, ahem, have been ‘poking around Archewell and asking serious questions about what they actually contribute’. This comes after the couple released a report tooting their own horn.

Sources claim that the friction between the couple stemmed from the negative reaction after Harry’s memoir, Spare. The BBC published a review that called the memoir ‘the longest angry drunk text ever sent’. James Marriott from the Times called it a ‘400-page therapy session for mystic Harry’. However much money it provided the couple, it wasn’t enough for Meghan, who is said to be ‘embarrassed by the whole thing and seeking support from mentors’. Trouble in paradise?
