I really loved reading the HoneyXLion scenes in your AU! :) Love those two! <3 Especially since Honeyfern has always been my favorite. Got any Honeypaw fun-facts/headcanons you could share?
Updated designs for the two of them as well for this!
Honeyfern is a big daddy’s girl. She loves her dad so much and has a lot of fun spending time with him. In my rewrite Brackenfur is Lionblaze’s mentor rather than Ashfur, so Honeypaw enjoyed tagging along specifically to see her dad, though Lionpaw never complained.
She’s a talented fighter amongst her fellow apprentices, something not many expect when they see her. She seems to have picked up on this and likes to use it to her advantage.
Related to the above point, she can pin Lionblaze, even with his bigger size compared to her. She just knows him and how he fights well, and her adaptability has her always finding new ways to get him back on the ground.
She was definitely seen as little Miss Perfect - beautiful, kind, smart, talented - it was no wonder both Lionpaw and Berrypaw crushed on her growing up.
Honestly though, it was a lot of pressure, and though she had so much to offer, she was often swept aside because she’d get teased about having a mate as soon as she was able since she had two obvious admirers. Many would ask her “who she would pick” when she was older, when really that wasn’t even crossing her mind.
Honeypaw believed if she continued to excel, she’d be able to stand out on her own and not keep being seen as this frail little beauty. Despite her fellow she-cat apprentices not receiving the same treatment, it didn’t let up. It seemed the more “perfect” she was, the more others saw her as something to be taken care of.
Lionpaw was once one of these cats. He liked her for much of the same reasons Berrypaw liked her - she was absolutely beautiful and her skills weren’t anything to scoff at. However, it took Honeypaw telling him off and losing that sweet and kind persona she always had for him to see she wasn’t the perfect princess he idolized. It was at this point (narrative-wise) that Lionpaw stops pursuing her, admittedly becoming more focused on things related to his brother and the other clans with their prophecy evolving.
Honeypaw feels bad, thinking she really upset him with her words, even if he did totally deserve it. They keep running into each other since her father, Brackenfur, is Lionpaw’s mentor, and she likes to tag along. In a shocking turn of events, Lionpaw ends up apologizing to her for his behavior, and asking if they could be friends, to which she responded “good to know we weren’t already.”Officially Lionpaw is not just the guy who crushes on her, rather they’re mutuals, and that’s... admittedly rather new for Honeypaw.
A lot of time there was a disconnect between her and the others because she was “on another level”, one that only seemed to grow as they got further in their apprenticeship and Honeypaw became the clear stand out. She loves her sisters, but they were all quite different and seemed to go in different directions. Unbeknownst to Lionpaw, he had become Honeypaw’s closest friend like that...
Curious to know more about Lionpaw as friends, Honeypaw ends up poking her nose in places she shouldn’t, noticing Lionpaw’s weird behavior, the scratches he wakes up with in the morning, and the way he hurries off to sit with Tigerpaw and Harepaw from ShadowClan and WindClan respectively. When she asks him, he insists it’s nothing, something the sweet Honeypaw struggles to be pushy on considering how used to her kind nature she’s gotten with others in the clan.
Jump to warriorhood. Honeyfern is nosy, something she’s not proud of, but it’s undeniable. She’s picked up medicine from Jaypaw so she can treat the scratches Lionblaze keeps waking up with, and her agitation with the tom is growing as he continues to brush her off. Eventually she’s just about had it and begins giving him a rather immature silent treatment.
Lionblaze truthfully does value Honeyfern. While he can’t be honest with her about the prophecy, they are close friends who hunt together, train together, know each other’s favorite freshkill. Before everything started blowing up drama wise for Lionblaze, he honestly did just love the days they’d hang out and joke about having apprentices to train alongside each other. When she stops hanging around him, it’s noticed immediately, I’m talking things stop, he can’t focus, he’s stumbling, like he just feels really off when she’s suddenly not hanging out with him.
To get her back he goes behind Jayfeather and Hollyleaf’s backs and tells her about things, to which she... believes him right away. Yeah Lionblaze is just as shocked. She reminds him she knows when he’s lying because his tail tip starts to twitch up and down.
Unlike Cinderheart in the books who pushes Lionblaze away believing he’s above her and his destiny is beyond her, Honeyfern basically becomes his righthand. She’s there to cover him when he needs to sneak off, back up his excuses, help with the apprentices, whatever it may be. At this point they still haven’t even acknowledged feelings, just close friends who lowkey both know this is something but don’t talk about it.
This annoys the shit out of Jayfeather who on one hand doesn’t think there is time for this, and on the other thinks it’s exhausting having to feel the overwhelming affection radiating off them whenever they walk by.
To make a long story short, they become mates going into the final battle, wanting to make sure that if they die, they die having known they loved each other. Neither die though, so that’s good.
Post-battle, Honeyfern gives birth to their two kits - Leafkit and Bramblekit, named after two important cats who perished in the final battle that they want to remember. Leafkit replaces Sorrelstripe and becomes Leafstripe. Bramblekit replaces Fernsong and becomes Bramblesong.

Welcome to honeycomb.txt !
(aka my writing blog)
* main: @honeycrashed
* I will still post my art on main, this is just for ease of access of my writing/archiving my writing, and with the added bonus of recording my WIPs.
Q: What's this for?
A: This blog will mainly be used for:
Updates on my WIP fics
Talking about my WIP fics
Archiving my fics
Asking of opinions of my WIPs
Random drabbles that may not be fandom-related (will be tagged)
Asking for prompts to pick
Q: What are important tags in this blog?
A:
[fandom tag] - pretty obvi
#non-fandom - writing that isn't related to fandoms
#WIP progress - showing progress of my WIPs
#WIP complaints - me complaining that I have to write
#honeyfics - tag for completed drabbles / fic chapters
#fic preview - showing previews of my fic before I release it into the wild
Q: What fandoms do you write about?
A: currently Inazuma Eleven lives inside my brain the most, but that won't take off the chance that I may post my old fics from other fandoms (mainly genshin...), seeing as I never posted them.
If you want specifics, it'll mainly be about ALL STARS (who would've guessed), though not always together.

honey | gang!ashton
summary: ashton meets a girl named baby and you see soft ashton come out
word count: 7,449
fic playlist:
https://open.spotify.com/user/ll8n0gpouapq450joln9flaex/playlist/6cUPW9uEz3ZCweGheUuQGk?si=xx_thHYoQdSKPY4AQUwGBg
warnings: it’s rated R. there’s smut, murder, and gang violence. but boy is the smut hot. don’t read if you’re under 18. also, i gotta throw in a little lashton love triangle (i’m a lashton slut, SUE ME!), but don’t worry. Baby is pretty vague, i didn’t give her any physical descriptions so i hope that anyone can read her and fit into her character. make sure you look at the playlist, i made it just for this hehe.
ps. the boys names are never mentioned, but here’s a little cheat sheet for you.
Honey: ashton
Blue: luke
Angel: michael
Raven: calum.
ok. i hope you enjoy
The alcohol burns as it hits the back of your throat, but, in a desperate effort to forget anything about the past several years, you demand the bartender for more. Your best friend is a regular at the club, and though you know of the club’s reputation, you don’t care about being here.
All you craved is the feeling of whiskey hitting the back of your throat.
“Baby, it looks like someone is staring at you.” Your best friend, Hannah, says, grabbing your attention by touching your arm, as she approaches you at the bar.
You turn to face the man staring at you; you can barely make out his facial features, but the fact that you could see a tense jaw and curls in the distance, caught your attention.
The man smirks, and approaches you and Hannah.
“Hey,” Hannah leans forward, looking at him. “What can we do for you, handsome?”
“I actually came to talk to your friend, Baby, here.”
You look up and turn around, facing the man that was once across the bar from you.
His features are now easier to see than before; blue eyes, curly blonde hair, a structured jawline, and cologne that smells … rich.
“How do you know my name?” You ask, looking up at the man.
“Everyone knows who you are, Baby. You’re Donnie’s daughter.”
You tense up as the handsome man mentions your father’s name. You haven’t heard that name in years, not after the incident happened three years ago.
“And what do you want with me?” You ask, crossing her arms beneath her chest.
“Dance with me.” The handsome man smirks. “That is, if your friend doesn’t mind.”
Hannah motions for you to follow the man onto the dance floor.
You can already tell this man is part of a gang, but you can’t tell which gang he’s a part of. He wouldn’t have known of your father if he wasn’t a part of a gang.
“You seem lost in thought.” The man states.
“I’m just trying to figure out how you know my name, but you haven’t properly introduced yourself to me.” You state.
“They call me Blue.” He states, smirking down at you.
“Because of your eyes?” You ask him, making eye contact. His eyes are a crystal blue, unlike any you’ve seen before.
“Sort of. But also, because I leave people black and blue if they cross me.”
“Ah.” Is all you say in response, letting Blue know that you’re not really interested in small talk.
“Do you think your friend will notice if you’re missing for a few minutes?” Blue asks you.
He pulls away from your ear and you nod, agreeing to go along with him.
Blue takes your hand and pulls you along, squeezing you tight so you don’t get pulled away from him, in the crowd of people.
Soon, Blue takes you to the VIP lounge, and when the security lets you in, he winks at you before he shuts the door behind you and Blue.
“Took you long enough,” the man with beautiful skin and a head full of raven curls smirks. “We were worried about you, Blue.”
“I had to dance with Baby, I couldn’t help myself.” Blue responds, pulling his hand away from yours in an attempt to show you off. “Just look at her.”
Raven curls looks you up and down – Hannah forced you to wear one of her low-cut and revealing dresses, making you seem bustier than you really are.
“Damn. I didn’t think Donnie would make such a hot daughter.” Raven curls says.
“Enough, Raven.” Blue barks, glaring at his friend. “Where’s Honey, anyway?”
“Look, if I’m going to be here, I need to know why.” You pipe up. “I’ll have you know I’m from one of New York’s most notorious crime families.”
“Sweetheart, keep your mouth shut, you’re going to regret it.” Raven fires back.
“Don’t tell me what to do!” You shout, getting ready to swing on him.
You may not talk to your father anymore, but one thing is for sure, he taught you how to kill a man with your bare hands, in case the need ever arose.
“Oh, is Baby getting angry?” Raven chuckles.
“Shut the fuck up.” A voice booms.
You turn around to face the voice; in the heat of the moment, you hadn’t heard the doors open and shut.
“Honey, hey.” Raven says, his voice getting quiet. “I was just teasing her, I didn’t mean any harm.”
“I’m so tired of your shit, Raven.” The new man, Honey, sighs. “Don’t make me punch you.”
Blue stifles a laugh and steps away from you as Honey inches towards you.
Honey’s hair, like Blue’s, is long and curly, but unlike Blue’s, it’s combed back, except for one single curl that falls in front of his eye.
“I take it you’re Honey.” You smirk as Honey is a mere three or so inches from you. “What do you want from me?”
“I have some serious… intel, that you may want on your father.” Honey says, getting closer to you. “But, as you know, being from a crime family, nothing comes for free.”
Honey is now almost pressed flush against you, and your heart is beating faster than you’ve ever felt before.
You look at his face – you can tell a lot about a person by the way they look at you.
For example: Honey is looking down at you, but he isn’t trying to be intimidating. He’s making eye contact, and his eyes are hazel, a melting pot of brown and yellow and green. His breathing is steady and there is a tiny smirk tugging on either side of his lips, but you wouldn’t notice it if you weren’t standing right in front of him.
“Hey uh, Honey, we got to go. Angel needs back up.” You barely hear Blue speaking because you can’t stop staring at Honey.
“Yeah, yeah, see you later.” Honey dismisses Blue and Raven, leaving the two of you alone in the VIP lounge.
You two are silent for a few more moments before you scan Honey’s face for some kind of way to react to what’s happening.
Before you can react, Honey pulls you close to him, pressing your bodies together.
“If I didn’t know any better,” You begin, looking down at his lips, and then back up to make eye contact with him, “I’d say you want to dance with me.”
“You’re a dancer?” Honey asks, raising an eyebrow.
“You know, for someone who claims to know a bunch about my father, you’d think you would’ve done a little bit of research on his daughter before getting involved with her.” You chuckle, walking towards the doors of the lounge.
You let Honey lead you towards the dance floor, his grip on you tighter than Blue’s, but as soon as you two step on to the dance floor, it’s the chemistry is instant between you two.
You pull Honey close to you, grinding up against him. His hands place themselves on your ass as the two of you move in sync with the song.
Honey pulls you in for a quick kiss before you turn around and begin rubbing your ass against him, causing him to pull you closer and closer to him.
The song ends and you come back up, and he speaks into your ear five words you desperately wanted to hear.
“Let’s get out of here.”
You follow Honey out of the club and out to a limo that’s waiting for you.
“Penthouse, please.” Honey commands, and the presses the button so the partition rises between you two and the driver.
“How much time do we have?” You ask him, raising an eyebrow.
“Thirty minutes.”
“I can work with that.”
Without missing a beat, you climb on top of Honey and begin grinding on him as a Lana Del Rey song plays softly in the background.
Honey kisses you on the lips, then moves his mouth and attaches it to your neck, sucking softly at your sweet spot.
You try your hardest to suppress your moans, but Honey just knew how to make you weak.
You manage to get Honey’s pants and underwear around his ankles, his erection prominent as you take it into your hands, and wrap your mouth around the tip, licking and sucking, and working your hands around the length that wasn’t in your mouth.
“Fuck, Baby.” Honey moans, leaning his head back as you work your mouth on him.
Honey’s hands entangle themselves in your hair, and he pulls and pushes you up and down his member, but you’re taking it like a pro.
After all, they don’t call you Baby for any old reason.
“Fuck, Baby. Oh, my God, Baby. M’gonna cum.” Honey moans, his grip tightening on your hair as he releases in your mouth.
After you pull away from him, Honey pulls you back up to him and he kisses you, sliding his tongue along your bottom lip, and then pulling it between his teeth gently, making you moan slightly.
You find yourself being pushed down ever so slightly, until you find that your back is against the seat and that Honey is holding himself above you, doing his very best not to grind into you.
“You realise this is a two-way street, right?” You mention, looking at the boy with honey eyes.
“Who said I was going to fuck you in my limo?” Honey peels himself away from you and begins pulling up his underwear and his trousers. “That’s what the penthouse is for, sweetheart.”
You nod as the limo stops, and a few moments after, Honey opens the door and offers you a hand to help you out.
“Thanks, Alfred.” Honey states, handing the driver, Alfred, a crisp Benjamin, and then the limo drives away.
Honey then grabs your hand and leads you through the entrance of the building. You’d seen it before, back when your father would bring you to the uptown office with him.
The two of you step into an elevator, and as soon as the doors close, Honey has a hard time keeping his hands off of you.
“Ah, ah, ah. Not until we’re inside your penthouse, sir.” You remind him, giving him an innocent smile.
“Oh, Baby, you’re going to regret saying that.” He growls, his voice low and deep, making your heart skip a beat as Honey makes his way towards you.
The elevator doors open into a suite and instantly Honey drags you out and carries you over his shoulder, smacking your ass as hard as he can, causing you to let out a whimper.
Honey sets you down and you turn around, staring out of a beautiful window that overlooks the city of Manhattan.
“It’s beautiful,” You say, walking towards the window, resting your fingers on the glass.
“You know what would make the view even better?” Honey asks, raising an eyebrow. A mischievous grin appears on his face.
“What’s that?”
Honey gets closer to you, enveloping you from behind, attaching his lips to your neck once more. He kisses up your neck and to your ear before whispering, “Take off your clothes and lean up against the window. Now.”
You don’t hesitate to take off your dress and panties, flinging them across the room. You press your body against the window, sticking your ass out so it’s easier for Honey to access.
Honey grabs your bum and squeezes it in his hands, before bringing his hand down on hard on your left side. You moan, it hurt but you were too turned on to care, and stick your ass out further.
“Baby, Baby, Baby, I see you’re getting desperate for my cock?” Honey chuckles, shaking his head.
“Please, Honey, I need you.” You beg, turning so your check is on the glass. “I need you, Daddy.”
“That’s what I needed to hear.” Honey says before inserting himself into you, and pushing you against the glass.
With the amount of force that Honey has against you at this moment, you’re sure the glass is going to shatter at least a tiny bit, but so far, so good.
Honey’s hands roam your body as he fucks you; one hand on your hip to keep you steady, and the other one moving from your stomach to your clit, where he begins rubbing.
You begin to moan and try to push off the glass because of the overstimulation, but it just felt so good, that you give up almost as soon as you start.
“Fuck, Honey, I’m gonna cum.”
“That’s it, Baby, cum for Daddy.”
Hearing Honey command you to cum was enough to send you over the edge, and you let out a moan you’ve been suppressing for what feels hours.
Honey pulls you away from the window and turns you to face him, and he kisses you.
“It’s Ashton, by the way.” Honey states.
“Huh?” You say, raising an eyebrow at the man who’d just given you the best orgasm of your life.
“My real name. It’s Ashton.”
“Huh. I never pegged you for an Ashton.” You smirk. “I think I’m just gonna call you Honey.”
* * * *
“So, wait,” Hannah says, sitting on the couch in the apartment the two of you share. “Ashton… Honey… has information on your father?”
“I call him Honey, but yeah, he’s coming by tonight to pick me up.” You tell her.
“Baby, I don’t think this is a good idea. He’s a gang member for crying out loud.” Hannah admits.
“So am I, by birth, technically.” You admit, looking at your best friend. “Plus, if it’s going to help me blackmail the man who kicked me out of his home for something I didn’t even do, then so be it.”
“I don’t know, Baby. Something shady is going on here.”
“No, Hannah, you only think that way because you were never part of the organized crime life.” You tell her, flashing her a glare.
It’s true, while Hannah’s family and your family we’re one of the few allies in the organized crime life, Hannah’s father never wanted her to be a part of it, unlike your father, who taught you everything you know about getting what you want from people.
There’s a knock on your door, and you notice Honey standing there with a smile on his face.
“Baby. Hannah.”
“Monkey.” Hannah mumbles under her breath.
“What did you say?” Honey asks, his tone firm.
“I said your name. Honey.” Hannah retorts, plastering a fake smile along her lips.
“Hannah, I’m probably going to crash at Honey’s tonight, okay, so don’t stay up too late.”
“No promises.” Hannah responds before you leave with Honey in tow.
As soon as you get to the street, Honey leads you to his car – a 1969 red Mustang, with the top missing, because the weather is nice.
The sun is just beginning to set, and Honey opens the door for you to take a seat. He then walks around to the driver’s side and opens the door, taking a seat and starting the car.
“Blue called and told me more information, so we’re going to meet him upstate at the safe house.” Honey tells you as he pulls into the main road and begins driving the two of you upstate.
“Hey,” Honey says, walking into the safe house.
It’s much nicer than any of your family’s safe houses, which leads you to wonder just what gang these guys are working with.
“Honey, there you are.” Blue calls, approaching his boss.
“What’s the deal, Blue? Why did we have to drive all the way upstate?”
“Because, Angel found some really interesting stuff on the stake out. Follow me.”
You and Honey follow Blue, into a different room downstairs.
Security monitors lines a wall, you can see every angle of the property on this wall. Weapons line another wall; guns, machetes, knives… all lined up behind a glass casing.
You spot an unfamiliar man sitting in front of three computer screens, and instantly you recognize the building on the monitors.
“That’s my dad’s upstate office.” Your voice breaks the silence.
“Baby, shush.” Blue says, covering your mouth.
“What’s going on? Why are you staking out my father?” You ask, looking at Honey and Blue and who you can only assume is Angel.
“Baby, look at me.” Honey says, his voice is soothing. “Your father is in danger. We’re a part of the gang, initiated in 2016.”
“After the incident.” You mumble.
“Baby, you need to calm down. Your father is in danger. He’s been taken hostage for weeks by a rival gang. They want you.” Honey tells you.
“Why do they want me?” You ask, looking around the room.
The boy from the other night, Raven, appears.
“Because you’re hot as shit, dude.” Raven says, sitting down next to Angel.
“Raven, would it kill you to be a decent human being for a split second?” Honey says, getting agitated with his friend.
“It’s the truth.” Raven shrugs.
“Okay, but there’s got to be another reason.” You mutter, trying to read Honey’s face, to see if he’s hiding something.
“You’re Donnie’s weakness. Despite whatever happened, you are his baby. They’re trying to get him to confess to your whereabouts, or they’ll kill him.” Honey admits.
Your heart stops for a split second and you need to catch your breath.
“But why do they want me?” You ask, looking around at the four boys surrounding you. “I’ve got plenty of sisters, my father’s really good at making girls, you know.”
“Because, Baby, you’re his favorite.”
You shudder at those words, hearing someone say you’re your father's’ favorite. It brings back haunting memories.
“So. What do we got to do to bring these sons of bitches down?”
“Honestly, can we just kill them? Isn’t it Sonny’s gang?” Raven pipes.
“Wait a minute, did you just say the name Sonny?”
“You know Sonny?” Honey asks.
“Yeah, that’s Hannah’s father, my dad’s best friend.”
“Oh, so this is personal…” Blue mumbles.
“Yeah, it’s been personal for a while.” You retort. You take a few minutes to calm down, trying to remove the past from your present thoughts. “So, when are we taking them down?”
“In a few days. We’d recommend you staying away from Hannah. She’s not as innocent as she seems.” Angel finally speaks, making direct eye contact with you.
His voice takes you by shock, you weren’t expecting him to sound anything like he does.
Angel’s voice is deep, but not too deep, and now that he’s turning to face you, you can get a better look at him.
He’s wearing a beanie over his blonde hair, his eyes, like Blue’s, are dazzling with blue and tiny flecks of green, and his smile is sparkling.
“You look nothing like I thought you would,” You mumble under your breath.
“I could say the same to you. Donnie talked about you constantly in the highest esteem. I thought you’d’ve been at least a little more reserved.”
“I’m a crime bosses’ daughter. Reserved isn’t even in my vocabulary.” You retort, smirking at the Angel across from you.
“She’s a keeper, Honey. I think we should bring her back. We could use her.” Angel smiles at his boss, and Honey looks at you, scanning your face for a brief moment, but doesn’t say anything.
“I think we should take down Sonny and his men as soon as possible. When were you planning to do it?”
“Tuesday.” Angel, Blue, and Raven say in unison.
“Tuesday?!” You raise an eyebrow. “Tuesday is when Sonny’s gang is going to expect it the most. You’ve got to strike on a Thursday.”
The four men surrounding you look at one another, and you grab Honey’s hand to hold for support.
“Baby’s right. Sonny and his men are always doing shit on Tuesday, and that’s when they’re most likely to be on edge.” Honey pipes up, looking at the men around him. “We’ve got to be diligent, and we can’t let anyone know that we’re doing this.”
“I don’t know, Honey. It seems kind of risky.” Blue retorts.
“Send me in.” You blurt out. “They won’t think anything of it. I’ll say I’m getting some files for my mom. I’m not in total exile.”
“Baby, don’t you think…” Blue steps forward, shaking his head. “Isn’t it going to be obvious if you’re showing up at the upstate office? Your father exiled you.”
“Not completely.” You remind Blue, your stance changing as you speak. “My father stated he never wanted to see me again until I was ready to prove myself. If you ask me, this is a pretty good way to prove myself.”
“Baby…” Honey whispers, low enough for only you to hear.
“Stop treating me like a child!” You yell, yanking your hand away from Honey’s, and taking a few steps away from him. “I know how Sonny and his men work. I know the ins and outs of my father’s property. Your best bet at saving him is me. I’m not letting you go without me.”
You look at the four men, and then walk over to the monitor, where your father’s upstate office is.
You notice something odd about the door, it’s covered, and your dad never covers the door, so there’s something else going on here, you just don’t know what.
“We go Thursday.” You state. “I need to go to my Dad’s property out west, and I need to get my weapons. Do you have a preference of which weapon you want?”
Honey can’t help it, you talking crime matters just made him need to kiss you.
“A handgun. For each of us. And a knife for Raven.” Honey says against your lips.
“Okay. We go Thursday morning.”
* * * *
Thursday morning rolls around, and you’re woken up by Honey kissing your face.
This isn’t unusual; it’s been like this the last three mornings, but today… something was different.
You check the time on the alarm clock, it’s only 4 A.M., which gives you about 45 minutes before you need to begin the drive to your father’s property.
“Race you to the shower, I’ll let you wash me.” You smirk, looking at Honey’s features in the dim lighting from his closet.
The two of you hop out of bed and race to Honey’s bathroom, stripping your clothes off one by one, as Honey turns on the water.
After stepping into the shower, he begins lathering you up with soap as you kiss him fervently, the two of you not knowing what the rest of the day holds.
After he washes your hair, he holds you close for a few moments before turning off the water, and then the two of you step out and wrap yourselves in a towel.
Ten minutes later, the two of you are greeted by Angel, Blue, and Raven who are downstairs trying to devise a back-up plan, in case the original doesn’t work out.
“Honey. Baby.” Blue smirks when he says your name.
“Hey, Blue.” You fire back, making eye contact with the blonde boy.
Over the past several days, you’d gotten pretty close with boys who stand around you.
You and Raven had bonded over your shared love of animal conservation. You and Angel had bonded over your mutual love of family and Disney movies, though you kept that last part a secret between you two. And with Blue, you’d bonded over your shared love of music, writing, and movies.
Although you and Honey had a thing going on, that hadn’t stopped you from also sleeping with Blue just the one time, while Pulp Fiction was playing in the background.
“How did you sleep?” Blue asks the two of you, and you look at Honey, waiting to respond.
“Great, actually. We’re going to save Donnie.” Honey states, squeezing your hand for reassurance.
You can tell he’s nervous by the sweat in his palm, but you brush it off.
This is nerve wracking; one of your friends might die to night, all because your father needs to be saved.
“We’ve got the car loaded. Is everyone ready?” Angel asks, looking around the room at everyone.
Angel stops to look at you, and he notices that you’re nervous. He takes your hands in his and pulls you into a hug.
You inhale, taking in the scent of Angel’s cologne; it calms you almost – he smells familiar and he almost feels like home.
A few moments later, after you pull away from Angel, you and the guy’s head to the car and begin the journey to your father’s office.
* * * *
Once you, Honey, Angel, Blue, and Raven arrive at the office, you notice the sudden change in the air.
The once inviting area you used to play around in as a child is no longer carefree. The air seems violent; the wind picks up and you notice a single crow flying over the building, landing into the trees to your left.
“Something isn’t right.” You mumble, sticking your hands out to your sides so the boys don’t walk past you. “Stay here.”
“Baby, I don’t think–” Honey begins, but once you turn to look at him he shuts up.
“I know this area like the back of my hand. Let me scout the area to see what we’re working with. My father is in danger.” You tell him.
Everyone can see the expression on your face, and you wait only a few moments before making sure the gun in your waistband and the knife in your boot are accessible, before you walk away, towards your father's’ office.
Hiding behind trees and ducking under cars, you’re careful not to get caught. If any of Sonny’s men saw you here, they’d take you hostage, and shoot your father right in front of you. That’s the last thing that needs to happen.
You steady your breathing, a trick your father taught you, as you hear men approaching one of the vehicles on the east side of the building.
“No, I’m about to go get Hannah.” One man says.
“Hannah’s coming? I thought Sonny said she wasn’t allowed on the premises.” Another man responds.
“I guess Hannah’s the only one who knows about Baby’s whereabouts. Sonny doesn’t care what he has to do to get back to Baby.” The first man says, stepping towards one of the nicer cars.
“Ah, ah, ah, where do you think you’re going?” A different voice says, a voice you could recognize anywhere. A voice that you have nightmares about.
“Oh, Mr. Sonny. I was just going to take the Tesla to go pick up Hannah. Your daughter only deserves the best.” The first man, the driver says.
You roll your eyes at his pathetic excuse. Sonny is a smart man, as much as you hate him, you’ve got to at least admit that.
“Fine. But you’re only going to pick my daughter up and bring her back in the car. Is that final?” Sonny’s voice booms, his New York accent prominent.
The man drives away and Sonny walks back into your father's’ office, and you’ve only got about five minutes to race to the back door and get into the building without Sonny seeing you.
You look back at the boys behind you, a motion for them to steadily get behind you so the five of you can get into the office at once.
Once the boys get to you, you look at each of them before letting them know of the plan once more.
“Remember, the main thing is to keep my dad alive. I just heard from the guy in the Tesla that they’re bringing Hannah up. It doesn’t sound good.” You whisper.
“Do you think Hannah has any involvement?” Raven asks you.
“Absolutely not. Hannah hasn’t spoken to Sonny since the incident. She doesn’t trust her father.” You remark, looking over at the men. “I genuinely think Hannah is about to be put in danger if we don’t stop her father before she gets here.”
The boys look at you and give you a sympathetic look, before their expressions harden and they nod in agreement.
“Just tell us when to go.” Honey says.
You make eye contact with Honey for the first time in what feels like forever. You’ve never seen him look so…sad, in the few days you’ve spent with him.
“On my mark.” You respond, crouching down to get a good angle of the door.
You grab the knife from your boot as you walk towards the building, jimmying the lock, so you and the boys can get in. After a minute or so, you’re able to unlock the door and let the boys and yourself inside, but the five of you are careful to be as silent as possible to not distract anyone from what they’re doing.
“Blue and I will crawl in the vent spaces. Raven and Angel, I need to you to check the perimeter for my dad, and any of Sonny’s men. Go to the security room – trust me, you’ll know it, and check surveillance. The password spells out B-A-B-Y.”
Raven and Angel nod and then head to the security room.
“And Honey.” You say, looking at him. You give him a passionate kiss before finishing your sentence. “I need you to kill anyone who isn’t Hannah, Sonny, or my dad. Can you do that for me?”
“Anything for you, Baby.” He kisses you one last time before you grab Blue and begin your ascent into the vent system.
The two of you are very quiet, but your phone is on vibrate, in case Angel and Raven gave intel that they can give you.
You turn around to look at Blue after you’ve been crawling for a bit. “You still got those throwing stars, Blue?”
“Always, Baby.” Blue hands you his throwing stars, and you carefully remove the vent grate before throwing two of them at Sonny’s guards, blocking the entrance to your father's’ office.
You place the grate back down and continue to crawl. You and Blue are silent until you can hear your father’s desperate pleas for help coming from the presentation room.
The two of you crawl as fast as you can towards your father’s voice.
When you get there, you look through the grate to gauge your perimeter.
Sonny stands in one corner near the door, and your father his sitting next to the big table, tied up in a chair, staring at Sonny.
“You’ll never have my daughter. Baby is too good for you.” Your dad seethes, causing Sonny to chuckle.
“Trust me, I can have her anyway I want, Don. You forget to realize that Baby and I have a history.” The smirk on Sonny’s face makes you want to puke, but you stay put, staying as quiet as possible.
“Baby would never associate with a pig like you.” Your father states.
Sonny has a vile smirk resting on his face as he looks at your father, but turns around as soon has his phone begins to ring. “This is Sonny,” He pauses. “Okay, I’m coming.”
Sonny then walks out of the room, and you and Blue immediately move the grate and climb down into the room.
“Daddy!” You cry, looking at your father.
“Baby.” Your father croaks, smiling at you appreciatively.
“Don’t worry, Blue and I are going to get you out of here.” You assure your father as you take the knife out of your boots.
You begin to cut the ropes that bind your father to the chair, and when you hear footsteps approaching the door, you and Blue take cover behind the presentation desk.
It’s a tight squeeze, so you’re forced to lay on top of Blue. You rest your head on Blue’s chest, hearing his heartbeat faster as the door opens.
“If you’re not going to tell me where Baby is, I’m sure Hannah would love to do the offers.” Sonny says, and then you hear the door open once more.
You hear Hannah’s footsteps; they’re frantic and they’re quick and you can tell she’s scared.
“Dad, please don’t do this.” Hannah cries, before Sonny pushes her over into the chair in the corner.
You cover your mouth and try not to make a sound as you listen to your surroundings. You bury yourself into Blue’s chest to calm you down and to steady your breathing.
“Hannah, where the fuck is Baby?” Sonny says. “I promise, I’m not going to hurt you or Donnie here if you cooperate.”
“Why do you want Baby in the first place?” Hannah asks, you can tell she’s angry.
“That’s for me to know.” Sonny chuckles. “I don’t think your dear Uncle Donnie here would like to know what his baby girl is capable of.”
You hear someone’s feet shuffle as they move, and they stop a few moments later.
“I’m not going to ask again since you were the last one to see Baby. Where is she?” Sonny’s voice is laced with malice and you want nothing more than to storm up and stab him right in the neck.
“I dont know!” Hannah cries. “The last I saw her, she went off with some guy, okay?”
Blue’s eyes go wide and you hope to the universe that Hannah doesn’t give away any names.
“What guy?” Sonny asks his daughter.
“I don’t know. They met at a bar and she’s only come home once since then. Seems like a nice guy.” Hannah says, her voice shaky.
“Hannah, I know you’re lying. One more lie and Don gets a stab to the leg.” Sonny says.
Blue looks at you like he’s telling you to move, but you know it’s not your time yet. You need to stay quiet for Hannah and your father's’ sake.
“I said, I don’t know.” Hannah says. You can tell she’s speaking through gritted teeth.
No more than five seconds later you hear your father yell out in pain.
You don’t move just yet, and Blue looks at you like you’re crazy, but ultimately, he trusts you. You know Hannah and your father better than anyone else.
“Are you sure you don’t know, Doll? I really don’t want to stab him again.” You hear Sonny say, but you know he’s eager to hurt your father.
“Dad, please! I don’t know anything about Baby’s whereabouts.” Hannah cries out.
“Oh, Hannah, I wish you wouldn’t have said that.” Sonny says, and a few seconds later you hear your dad yell out in pain again. “Now, I’m going to ask again. Hannah, where’s Baby?”
“I. Don’t. Know!” Hannah yells. You hear Sonny’s footsteps move a few inches over, and then you hear Hannah yell in pain.
That’s when you get out from the table and hold your hands up in a surrender.
“My sweet, sadistic, Baby.” Sonny chuckles like a villain from a horror film. “Come here, sweetheart.” He begins walking towards you, and Blue quickly stands up and gets in front of you.
“You killed Lily.” You state, causing your father to look at you. “You killed Lily and that’s why you want me.”
“What the fuck is she talking about, Sonny!” Donnie screams, looking at the man he once called his best friend.
“Daddy, I’m so sorry.” You cry, looking over at your father, before turning to look back at Sonny. “You killed my sister and left her for dead. You didn’t even let us say goodbye, all because you wanted pussy.”
“Whoa, whoa, whoa, Baby. You’ve got it all wrong. You killed your sister, not me.” Sonny says, trying to deescalate the situation. “You shot the gun, not me.”
“No. I didn’t. You shot the gun because she came to find me. You grabbed your gun because you didn’t want anyone to know you were using me. I was seventeen, Sonny! You killed my baby sister because you didn’t want her to know that you were assaulting me!” You scream.
Never in your life have you been so angry. A million emotions are coursing through your head at once; anger, betrayal, defeat, hopelessness, and vengefulness all sitting at the front of your head.
Your father, in the heat of the moment, gets up from his chair and starts beating Sonny to the ground. Blue helps him beat Sonny up, putting his nickname to good use, as you help Hannah walk out to the front of the room.
Angel and Raven immediately run up to you and Hannah, and Raven takes her in his arms so she can get her wound stitched up.
Angel kisses your cheek as the two of you walk back into the room where your father, Blue, and Sonny are, and you notice Blue has rightfully earned his nickname.
Honey rushes in and looks at you, seeing that your pants are stained with Hanna's blood.
“Baby, are you okay?” Honey asks you.
You nod your head to let him know you’re okay, you can’t bother to speak after everything that’s just happened.
Your father looks at the boys. “Someone take me to the hospital. I want him dead when he wakes up.”
Angel carries your father to the car and drives him off to the hospital to get stitched up.
“Why does your father want him dead?” Honey asks.
“Because Honey, he raped Baby and killed her sister.” Blue states.
“I want to be the one to shoot him.” You mumble. Your voice is barely audible, but you know they heard you. “I want to look him dead in the eyes and kill him, just like he killed my sister.”
“Baby, are you sure you’re the best person for this?” Blue asks you.
“I know I’m the best person for this.”
“What about Hannah?” Blue responds, his eyes wide.
“She’ll understand. She’s part of a crime family. This is just a normal Thursday.” You tell the boys.
They help you move Sonny’s body into the chair and then they wheel it outside. Honey and Blue then get started gathering the bodies of Sonny’s men and gathering them all in a pile in the middle of the property.
Sonny stirs himself awake, and you look at him.
He smirks. “I could get used to waking up next to you every morning, Baby.”
You chuckle. “I’d rather die. Oh wait, I don’t have to.”
You pull the gun from your waistband and the knife from your boot, holding one in each hand.
“Now, Sonny. I know you didn’t give Lily a chance to choose how she dies, but since I’m much nicer, I’m going to give you the option. Knife or gun?” You smile, tossing the knife up in the air and catching it in your hands.
“You’re not going to kill me, Baby. You belong to me. I took your innocence away.” Sonny smirks.
“Knife, or gun?” You say again.
“Gun. It’s quick and it’s easy.” Sonny says, giving up. It’s like he already knows that he has no other option.
You walk behind Sonny and tuck the gun back into your waistband.
You bend down so only he can hear your whispers. “I always hated the gun. It’s…quick and easy.”
You stand up straight and hold the knife in your dominant hand, and slice Sonny’s throat quickly and evenly, letting all the blood drain out from his body as you walk back over to your friends who are standing by the dead guys.
“Baby… That was badass.” Blue says, pulling you into a hug.
“I don’t want to talk about it.” You mutter. You run over to Honey and embrace him in a hug.
“Are you okay?” He asks, kissing your forehead.
“I will be. Can you hold me for a minute?” You ask, wrapping your arms tighter around Honey’s waist.
Honey pulls you as close to him as physically possible, and he kisses your head gently, trying to soothe you from everything that had just happened.
After a few moments, you make Blue go handle Sonny’s dead body and tossing it into the body pile before he and Honey set them ablaze and the three of you drive away.
* * * *
You arrive at the hospital in fresh clothes a few hours later, searching for your father and your best friend.
You grab Honey’s hand in anticipation from seeing your family. He squeezes it three times, and you squeeze it three times back, before entering the room that your father and Hannah share.
Instantly, Hannah squeals your name in excitement, so glad to see you alive after everything that's happened.
“Baby! I’m so glad you’re okay.” Hannah exhales into your neck as you two hug each other tightly.
“I’m so glad you’re okay. You’re a badass, Han.” You chuckle, teasing your best friend. “Do you want to get into the crime life now?”
“Definitely not, but eventually. Your dad said he’d initiate me in as his daughter.” Hannah smiles, looking at you.
You make an audible squeak as Hannah kisses your cheek.
“I’m so glad you’re alive Hannah. I really can’t thank you for protecting me in front of your dad.”
“It’s the least I could do. I knew he was involved with Lily’s death somehow. I just didn’t know he was the one who murdered her.” Hannah whispers, looking between you and your dad. “Go talk to him, though. I’m sure he wants answers.”
You take a few steps towards your dad and sit at the edge of his bed.
“Hey Pops.” You smile at him, and he pulls you down and kisses your forehead.
“Baby. I knew you were my favorite for a reason.” Your father smirks.
“Please, Pop. You just say that to flatter me.” You smile.
“Baby, do you know why you’re my favorite?” You dad asks. It’s hard to make eye contact with him from the bruises surrounding his eyes, but you try your best. “Because you never back down from a challenge. When you run away, you come back ten times stronger. That’s how I raised you.”
“But you also raised me to protect my family. I let Lily die, Dad. I knew she was coming and I still couldn’t stop it.” You cry.
“I don’t blame you for her death one bit, Baby. You are not guilty in Lily’s death. That’s all Sonny.” Your dad says. He pulls you down towards him and he holds you right there, comforting you.
It’s something you both desperately needed; you’d always been Daddy’s Little Girl and you just shut each other out after Lily’s death, that you didn’t even realise how much you missed him.
You and your Dad stay like that for awhile, until he notices Honey and Blue standing there with Angel and Raven.
“You four… Thank you for keeping my Baby safe. I trust she’s in good hands when she’s around you.”
“Sir, we would never imagine hurting Baby. She means so much to us.” Honey says.
“I believe you. Now. Get out of here. Let me and Hannah rest.” Your dad commands.
You begin to leave the room with Angel, Raven, and Blue before your dad calls Honey back.
You wait outside the room with the three boys before Honey returns with a smirk on his face.
“Baby, ride with me.” Honey says, wrapping his arm around your shoulders.
You’re taken into the parking garage and the red mustang from the other day is in your view.
Honey opens the door for you and makes sure you’re inside before closing it and walking to the other side to hop in himself.
His hand grabs the back of your neck and he kisses you passionately as he starts the ignition.
“I’m taking you out.” Honey tells you.
“Oh yeah?” You smirk, looking at the handsome man next to you. “Take me to paradise, Honey.”
* * * *
A few hours later, around dusk, you and Honey arrive at a secluded cabin somewhere in Pennsylvania. Although Honey swears that it’s your father’s property, you were sure your father would’ve told you about the property in the future.
Honey then takes your bags out of the car and brings them inside, and places them down in the bedroom.
“Honey?” You say, looking at him.
“Yeah, Baby?”
“Come kiss me.” You tell him, playing with the hem of your shirt.
Honey doesn’t hesitate to kiss you, grabbing at you quickly and walking the two of you towards the bed.
He leans you back and begins kissing all over your face; your cheeks, your nose, your lips and forehead, before you push him off because you’re laughing too much.
“I love you, Baby.”
You grab him by the collar of his shirt. “I love you too, Honey.”

every kind of way (jake x mc)
rating: E (for the last chapter)
chapter: 1/3
word count: ~4k
summary: To say Eris has had a rough time in the villa so far was an understatement. She really didn’t need to go and complicate things further by fancying her closest mate, but then again, her brain rarely worked properly when Jake was around her.
a/n: this is a short fic about coupling up with Jake. it’ll be three chapters long and will only cover day 11 and the night of day 12. this first chapter takes place on the morning of day 11
for the most part, it follows canon with the exceptions that my MC, Eris, has a much closer relationship with Jake, and she also makes it clear to Levi that she’s not interested in him. i also (briefly) included an explanation behind Jake’s cheating, which is entirely headcanon. otherwise, the story is basically the same as the game
anyway thanks for reading if you do!

i wanna love you in every kind of way - H.E.R.
“Oh, Christ.”
Eris stared deadpan at the telltale beep of her phone that resounded throughout the empty bedroom and interrupted whatever retort Levi was about to throw at her.
After last night’s dumping and Lucy’s antics this morning, she wasn’t in the mood for challenges or dates or whatever it was they were going to be doing today. She wanted to relax, sleep in, hang out by the pool. One day of peace in the villa seemed like more of an impossible feat than she realized.
And on top of that, Levi has been trying to rekindle their relationship after Eris admitted that she wasn’t interested in him anymore. Her feelings hadn’t been that strong to begin with, but they’ve waned since the whole Cherrygate debacle. In recent days, she could now easily say she’s moved on. Levi, however, refused to give up. It was why he was currently sitting in bed with her, convincing her that he didn’t have feelings for Lucy, whatever she might say or do.
Needless to say, Eris was having a shit morning. If the producers allowed them alcohol this early in the day, she’d be cradling an entire bottle of wine right now.
She huffed at the phone, hoping the stupid device knew that whatever text had been sent to her was not welcomed right now. Beside her, Levi appeared irritated.
“I guess we’ll... talk later,” he grumbled.
Eris scratched her nose in an annoyed tick. She’d honestly rather not, but it was a conversation she knew needed to be had.
“Sure. Later. But,” she interjected firmly, “I’ll say this one last time.” She looked Levi straight in the eye, keeping her tone gentle yet steady. By god, if they had to have this discussion again, she’d burn her hair off. “We might still be coupled up, but we’re not together and we haven’t been for a while. If you want to get back with Lucy or graft on another girl, I won’t stop you because honestly, I don’t care.”
Levi’s lips thinned as a sour expression formed on his face, but he kept quiet. Whether it was for the sake of the text or because her feelings had finally sunk in for him, she wasn’t sure. Either way, she was glad he chose silence.
Suppressing the urge to sigh, Eris dragged herself up and leaned over to snatch the phone from the table. She avoided looking in his direction as she shouted for the other Islanders to gather.
“Guys! I got a text!”
They piled into the bedroom in a matter of seconds, some with breakfast still in their hands.
“Read it out, Eris!” Reese exclaimed.
Tim took a bite of his toast before asking, “What do you reckon it is? Another challenge?”
“Oh, don’t talk with your mouth full, hun,” Jen tutted. Her expression, however, was still amused. “But I do hope we get treated for some dates.”
The two of them leered at each other, and Eris couldn’t help the pang of jealousy that hit her. That was what she wanted for herself, but it seemed like the one guy she did want in the villa didn’t want her back.
Stuffing her bitterness down, Eris cleared her throat.
“Alright, everyone ready?” she asked the group.
When they nodded, she lowered her gaze to the text and read it out loud.
Islanders, tonight will be the last recoupling. The boys will be choosing their partners.
#thefinalcountdown #holdontight
Eris’ heart sank as she scanned the short missive again. Another recoupling? After they had one just last night? She knew for a while that she needed to find a better partner than Levi, but she thought she had more time. And of course the very last recoupling would be boy’s choice. She could very well be dumped from the villa tonight.
She couldn’t stop her eyes from darting over to Jake, but she was surprised to see he was already staring back. He ducked his head immediately, looking oddly frustrated. In the next second, Jake bolted from the room without saying a word to anyone.
Bemused and crestfallen, Eris sagged. She’s been having trouble reading him more than ever in the past few days, but him fleeing from her was very clearly a bad sign.
There were a few beats of silence that were shortly broken by Jen. Eris tuned it out as her mind reeled. She ignored the excited chatter of the room and flopped backwards onto the bed, resisting the urge to groan into the pillow.
Shit morning indeed.
Eris ambled through the villa alone, wondering how on earth she got herself into this situation.
She had finished breakfast and conversed with the other Islanders in a daze, too worried about what tonight had in store for her. Since Levi wasn’t an option any longer, her thoughts were in shambles as she considered what else she could do. There was always the possibility of coupling up with Rohan as friends, but at this stage in the game, it wouldn’t be right. They both knew the attraction wasn’t there. They deserved better than that.
Eris didn’t care so much about winning. All she wanted was to find a future with someone on the show, and Rohan was not the boy to have that with. There was nobody else in the villa for her.
Nobody but one, and he had barely looked at her all day.
She’s been dealing with the particular frustration that was Jake for what seemed like half her time there. At the very beginning it looked like he was into her, offering secret glances and smiles across the room that always seemed to verge on longing. They even coupled up for a bit. Those few days with Jake, being able to cuddle up with him in bed and find excuses to touch him in and out of challenges...
Those days were undoubtedly the happiest she’s felt. To hear him say that he had wanted her to pick him too made Eris smile so wide, her cheeks hurt.
But all of a sudden, things changed. Levi was grafting on her, and Jake backed off, insisting he didn’t want to stand in their way. Eris had never been so conflicted. On one hand, she couldn’t deny that Levi was attractive, and as a conceptual artist, she was also delighted to learn that they both shared a particular love for installation art. The way he chased after her was thrilling. It was nice being wanted by one of the most eligible Islanders on the show.
But with Jake, things were so... right.
Early on, he confessed to Eris that he struggled to connect with the others, but she had no problem growing close to him. He started opening up to her after some gentle prodding on her part, then things just snapped into place for them.
While they weren’t completely attached at the hip, Eris and Jake were damn close. He cracked wry jokes, often only for her ears and told at the most unexpected times. He spoke freely to her about his thoughts on the other Islanders and their couples. He allowed himself to be more selfish when he was with her instead of trying to maintain peace around the villa like he usually did.
In the same vein, Eris was just as comfortable around him. She felt relaxed in his warm, easy presence, even when he wasn’t talking much. She enjoyed watching him do the most mundane things, like cook or take a swim in the pool. She forgot about trying, about keeping up appearances and making sure her face wasn’t sweaty or her makeup hadn’t smeared.
Jake made her feel safe enough to rant to him and be quiet with him and be herself, unapologetically, around him.
What humbled her the most, however, was the fact that he opened up to her about his cheating past.
Fittingly, he had told her about it the morning after the infamous mess that was Cherrygate. It had been early on in his adult life, barely past his 20s, and he’d been dating his then-girlfriend for almost two years. They met each other through a mutual friend, but they didn’t start dating until a few months later. Everyone had seen it coming. Everyone encouraged it too.
Things were fun in the beginning, but it didn’t take long for them both to realize they weren’t good for each other. Their constant arguments were never resolved, and their communication was never there. Jake suspected that they only stayed together for as long as they did because everyone expected it of them.
He was vague about the specifics of his infidelity. All Eris knew was that it started three months before the breakup with some girl who lived on the same street as him. When Jake found out his girlfriend had been cheating on him too, he confessed to his own affair, and they finally decided to split up. With so many mutual friends, the two of them saw each other occasionally, but they were mostly on good terms. Still, he admitted that even if they were both equally guilty parties, there were few things that hurt worse than being cheated on.
Eris wasn’t exactly torn up about Levi kissing another girl. What did make her cry was knowing that Jake empathized with her enough to share something so private about his life. The other Islanders offered their comfort in their own ways, but Jake was the only one to hurt with her. The night Cherrygate occurred, he was there, wrapping a sturdy arm around her shoulders and telling her how strong she was, how much she didn’t deserve it. The morning after was no different. That was when he permanently cemented himself in her heart.
Eris had a stronger bond with Jake than with anyone else in the villa and even some of her friends back home. It came to the point where she had grown attuned to his emotions. From the subtle wrinkle in his forehead when he was troubled to the downturn of his lips when he was confused, it wasn’t difficult for her to figure out what he was feeling. Even her awareness of his physical presence had become second nature. Her ears could make out the timbre of his voice from the other side of the villa. Her eyes could recognize his silhouette in a darkened room.
It was well-known that Jake was the most reserved Islander on the show. But she knew him. She knew him, and it was such a privilege that he allowed her.
He was sweet. Funny. Self-assured. Romantic. Supportive. Considerate. And unquestionably the most beautiful man she’s ever laid eyes on.
Jake was everything Eris wanted in a partner, and in a very short amount of time, she knew she was already starting to fall fast and hard for the quiet, cheeky chef. She had every intention of staying coupled up with him to see where they could go.
So when Jake suggested to Eris that she and Levi had strong potential, she was more than a little upset. He didn’t fight for her or their couple, and it made Eris think that maybe he didn’t want her as much as she thought.
He seemed so willing to let her go. And it hurt.
Eris wasn’t the type of person to internalize her feelings, but being humiliated like that on national television made her bite back her disappointment and put on a strong front instead. She had smiled tightly at Jake, then picked Levi for her date later that night, and when he kissed her, she didn’t fight it. She thought of the man she’d rather be kissing instead, but she didn’t fight it. Everything about it had felt off. His hands weren’t the same, his shoulders a touch too wide.
Jake didn’t seem to mind any of it. That was the proverbial nail in the coffin that prompted her to choose Levi at the next coupling. Maybe it was the out Jake had been hoping for. After all, he didn’t look all too upset when he clapped along with everyone else at her decision. And he’s obviously been getting on well with Cherry.
Eris couldn’t stop the small scowl that formed on her face. Fucking Cherry. That ugly, green-eyed monster of jealousy roared inside her whenever that girl so much as looked at Jake. But Eris would never compromise his happiness, and if Cherry made him happy, she’d suck it up.
With all of this drama happening, Eris was starting to wonder why she signed up for the show in the first place. She could’ve had failed relationships back home in Kent just as easily. She could’ve pined over yet another man who didn’t want her in the comfort of her own flat.
She groaned and tugged at her hair. Mindlessly walking around the villa didn’t help much. Besides, Tim’s constant rapping could be heard wherever she went. It wasn’t like she could escape anywhere.
Eris walked through the dressing room, her mind nowhere near concluded. But her tumultuous thoughts were interrupted at the sound of hurried footsteps behind her.
She turned. A small gasp escaped her when she saw who it was.
Jake strode right for her with a determination she’s never seen from him before. At first glance, he appeared cool and collected, but once she took in his crazed eyes, clenched jaw, and shaking hands, anticipation whirled in her stomach.
“Jake?”
“I’m sorry, Eris,” he breathed as he stopped a few feet from her. “I just — can I have a word?”
Her eyebrows knitted together. “Wha— Jake, what’s going on?”
“I have to...” He huffed and shook his head, clearly frustrated with himself. “There’s just something I need to tell you. Can we...?” He gestured to the doors of the roof terrace.
It was clear that whatever it was he needed to say was big. Jake was rarely anything less than put together, and right now, he looked like he was on the precipice of a meltdown.
Eris didn’t hesitate as she nodded. “Of course. Come on.”
They entered the terrace, luckily finding it empty. Jake took a seat, leaning forward and resting his elbows on his knees. His clasped hands sporadically squeezed and loosened. Eris eyed him in concern as she joined him on the bench.
“Are you alright?” she asked. She’s never seen anyone in the villa look half as nervous as he did right now.
“I’m fine,” he assured. “It’s just... I’ve been thinking all day about whether or not I should say this. And it’s like — if I say it, I might ruin a friendship, or worse. It could be really bad for the villa.”
Jake sighed heavily and hung his head. He almost sounded like he was talking to himself with his next words.
“But if I don’t say it, maybe I miss a chance to finally be happy?”
Eris’ frown deepened, and she felt a fluttering in her chest, something she couldn’t name.
Confused as ever, she caved in to the urge to touch him and placed a hand on his arm. “You’re kind of scaring me. What is this about?”
Jake quieted. He stared at her hand, resting gently on his warm skin, and his gaze softened. When he remained silent, Eris squeezed in encouragement.
He exhaled quietly.
“Fuck it.”
His eyes flashed, and he whipped his head up to stare her down. She almost recoiled.
“I want you,” Jake blurted, his voice hoarse. “I want to be with you so bad, Eris. From day one... it’s always been you.”
Her jaw dropped to the floor.
For a moment, nothing else registered other than the words I want you.
I want you.
Jake wanted her?
Her?
It was appropriate that Eris’ response was just as bewildered. “Huh?” she said stupidly.
Jake ran a hand through his unruly hair as he shot up from his seat to pace around. “Look, I realize I left it so late, but it’s the last recoupling this evening and I just had to say something, even though I might’ve ruined everything I’ve tried to make in here. Plus, you had all this stuff going on with Levi and I didn’t want to piss you off or ruin our friendship, so I kept quiet about it. But I can’t anymore. I need to know, or it’ll kill me.”
He stopped pacing and took a deep breath. Visibly bracing himself, Jake turned to her, his face verging on desperation.
“Eris,” he rasped, “is there any chance for me? Could — could something happen between us?”
Stunned, Eris leaned back on the bench with her mouth agape.
Shock coursed through her for a few long beats as silence stretched between them, his confession hanging in the air. The longer she sat there, utterly dumbstruck, the more Jake’s face fell. It took her a bit, but her brain caught up as she finally absorbed what he had said.
I want you.
It’s always been you.
Something between us.
The world around her spun, but once the words got through to her, it careened to a complete halt. Suddenly Jake was the only thing she could see.
Her heart soared.
A short, disbelieving laugh bubbled out of her as the reality of his confession kicked in, and Jake’s shoulders drooped, looking like she had just kicked him in the gut.
God, he was so adorable.
Eris stood up and neared him. “Jake,” she barely managed.
He sighed and put on a brave face, attempting a weak but sincere smile. “It’s alright. I just couldn’t ”
Unable to resist any longer, Eris surged towards him and flung her arms around his neck as she crashed her lips against his. Jake gasped and froze, but once he realized what was happening, she felt his whole body shudder. He engulfed her in his tight embrace and returned the kiss with a fervor that made her stomach swoop.
Finally, she thought before her mind quieted, focusing only on the sensation of Jake’s presence surrounding her entirely. She knew him, but this... This was new territory she couldn’t wait to explore.
He moaned into the kiss, his eager hands wandering from her hips to her back until one of them traveled up to tangle itself in her hair. Her heart skipped two beats before running right out of her chest. He pulled her as close as humanly possible then closer still, and as a result they stumbled onto the nearest wall. Jake pressed her up against it, slanting his lips over hers. Eris whimpered a sigh when their tongues grazed, and she couldn’t stop her knees from buckling a little at the electrifying sensation that chased up her spine.
His hands left a fiery trail wherever they went. When his mouth lowered to the side of her neck Eris gasped, her head tilting back and her fingernails digging into his shoulders. Jake hissed in pleasure and doubled his efforts on her neck by sucking lightly on her pulse point. If not for his firm grip around her, she would have fallen over at how heavenly it felt. His responding, dark chuckle at her reaction would have done her in next.
For what felt like hours, they remained entwined in each other. Her head was dizzy by the time their kisses and frantic touches slowed down into something soft, content. When they finally pulled apart, Jake rested his forehead on hers, and they exchanged goofy, joyous smiles as they caught their breath. Whatever doubts she’d been carrying had all but vanished as his fingertips pressed into the flesh of her waist.
“Just to be clear,” he panted, “this means you fancy me too, right?”
Eris laughed. “Yeah. But I could show you again if you’re still not sure.”
His grin grew even wider, and he ducked in for another short kiss. “You have no idea how terrified I was you were going to say no,” he admitted against her lips.
“It’s always been you too,” she whispered. “But I didn’t think you liked me like that anymore.”
He briefly closed his eyes, and when they opened, they were full of regret. “I’m sorry. I acted like an idiot when we had coupled up. I somehow thought I had messed up my chance when I learned that Levi was grafting on you.”
“So you pushed me away,” she said quietly.
“I convinced myself you were happier with him, so I tried to move on too.” He let out a humorless chuckle. “Not my finest moment, I’m aware.”
Eris gave him an apologetic look as she brought a hand up to the side of his face, running her thumb over his thin stubble. “I’m sorry too. I should have been honest and said something to let you know how much I liked you, but I... I don’t know. I guess I felt too wounded.”
He nodded. “I definitely could have made things easier, but I understand. I just wish we hadn’t wasted so much time together here.”
A dry smile appeared on her face. If they had actually communicated properly, they wouldn’t have gone through so much bullshit. It was as amusing as it was infuriating. “We’re a pair of dummies, huh?”
He chuckled. “I heard this place will do that to you. It’s practically our job, right? To stir as much drama as possible.”
“Well, I think it’s safe to say we take the cake there.” Eris wrinkled her nose. “How do you suppose everyone else will react?”
“We should talk about that, actually,” Jake sighed as he loosened his hold on her. The air shifted on a more serious note. “I don’t know what the situation is between you and Levi, but we’re still coupled with different people. It wouldn’t be right to surprise them with this at the recoupling later.”
A sense of dread settled in the pit of her stomach. “I told Levi we weren’t together anymore,” she muttered. “But I still need to talk to him.”
“Yeah. And I need to break up with Cherry.”
As much as Eris hated the idea of having that conversation, he was right. They couldn’t spring this on their partners at the last second, even if a part of her thought they deserved it a little. Damn Jake and his kind heart, otherwise she would ignore everyone and spend the rest of her time in the villa with him.
“This afternoon, then,” she agreed. “We’ll have to get it done before the recoupling.”
“Right. I just don’t want to be that kind of guy. I’ve made enough mistakes in here as it is.”
Eris nodded, and when she caught the remorse in his expression, she stood on her tiptoes to gently kiss him again, feeling him smile against her lips. They pulled away, and she grabbed his wrist to press one last kiss on his palm. His gaze was full of reverence, making her heart clench.
Jake suggested they get going so that hopefully, Levi and Cherry would calm down by the time the recoupling started. With reluctance, she parted from him and wished him luck with his talk with Cherry. He squeezed her shoulder in thanks as he returned the sentiment, then they left the rooftop.
Eris walked through the villa in search of Levi, her head held high but her stomach rioting with nerves. She couldn’t imagine the backlash she’d get from both the Islanders and the audience watching, but she didn’t care.
For the future she was seeking outside the show with the man she wanted by her side, this was worth it.
