This looks like a soothing game

It is! It’s like a zen-ny experience of going all into this one tiny little part of the universe watching the tiny little machines do their very best to follow all my orders for a while. But at the same time, I’m on the very first beginner levels and I’m already pulling on everything I learned about automation in school. (yes, weee little nightmuse actually went to school for this stuff, last millennia)

And it appeals to my sense of making order. :D And I know there are probably some hyper-skilled people who decrease all three measures to minimum simultaneously, but for my skill level I’ve decided I’m going to use area and materials (cost) and screw how many cycles it ends up being. :D

-25% on gog right now, will proooobably be on steam sale too, but I’ve never seen it discounted by more than -25% anywhere so....

I found both of these both amazing and devastating and I keep saying to people "The Fifth Season is a brilliant piece of writing and I literally cannot explain why without wrecking it." Also, sometimes, "wait to read it until you are in a fairly emotionally stable place," because, I mean.

I’ve been unhappy with a lot of things my country has done over the last few years, but I think this is the first time I’ve felt genuinely ashamed of it.

There’s a map doing the rounds on Twitter at the moment; it seems turnout was depressed in London. This was possibly on account of the extremely bad weather yesterday (parts of the city actually flooded). And of course London is one of the country’s most Europhile areas, so a low turnout there didn’t help. Also, despite all the Scots’ blathering, surprisingly few of them turned up to vote. Apparently Glasgow managed just 56% turnout. Basically it seems like what’s happened is that too many people in the cities stayed home, and that punted it to the dumb inbred fucks out in the countryside.

I’m not bitter, honest. No bitterness. Definitely not...

I have a confession:  I’ve been absolutely horrible at keeping up with fanfics lately.  It’s a combination of life getting in the way, and that the sheer number of fics that are posted everyday on AO3 leaves me a bit overwhelmed.  One that I did like quite a bit is a modern AU called “Forty-Eight Hours in Halamshiral” by honeybee592.  Halamshiral is a sex club in Amsterdam, and Iron Bull a Moscow spy taking a well deserved break from his work.  As one might expect from an Iron Bull fic it is tagged for BDSM, bondage, dom/sub and more.  The characters are captured beautifully and the way the author fits everyone into the modern world is wonderful.

I’ve blathered on about the crew’s breakfast before but it really is an essential ritual.

None of them expect a cooked meal, they’ve all spent plenty of time with convenience meals of various quality. They do even then - every meal aside from breakfast is something with a maximum preparation level of “peel top, heat.”

Breakfast is something, though. They structure their shifts around it; someone’s always just woken up and someone’s about to head to bed after watch but they both show up at the table on time. New crew don’t get a choice, when Pips tells Guss “breakfast is at 0700″ that’s not an advisement, it’s an instruction.

(Technically, they all have a slot on the rotation, but only Corso and Akaavi can cook and Akaavi’s willing to cede her role so he ends up trading refresher cleaning with everyone for breakfast duty. The eggs must flow.)

It’s the center of so many things. The morning after Pips and Corso got privately hitched in the cockpit, the extremely hungover morning after that morning because the rest of the crew found out and were more than a bit miffed to be left out of the proceedings. The first morning on Odessen, years later, when they were all together again. Others come and go; most don’t even recognize the honor of the invitation for what it is.

Whenever they’re together, though, wherever together is, there’s breakfast.

20. What do their family/friends think of their relationship?

Quinn and the Wrath are so professional that they don’t even crack when they arrive for a meeting in the Emperor’s private quarters and find Pierce lounging there, fully dressed but with all the languor that indicates he was not only a short while ago. They share their intelligence, they take their orders, they turn on one nearly-shared heel towards the door. They make it all the way to the waiting transport (though narrowly - the Wrath does end up shoving some eager functionary out of the way in the entrance hall) before looking at each other in completely-shared disbelief.

It’s funny. After all these years together, they can complete each other’s sentences, but neither one of them even knows where to begin.

24. Who whispers inappropriate things in the other’s ear during inappropriate times?

When you think about it, being the Emperor’s personal bodyguard is almost too perfect. There’s so little difference between, “the Ambassador is waiting, m’lord” and “I’d like to ***** ******* ***** ***” if you’re not close enough to hear it.

@honeybee592 ooh i like this. i’d say they deliberately started to cultivate their worship AFTER seeing their worship? since they didn’t want to be the Herald in the beginning, it can’t be from the start. i’d say prob sometime after Haven is when it hits them that wow there are people who feverishly believe in them as this messianic and divine figure and they start to not deny that because there are benefits to being seen as such. the mindnumbing power they hold starts to trickle in

and especially after the Fade quest, iirc you have the chance to reveal the truth but the propaganda team does not reveal who was the mysterious figure who helped them so everyone outside of the tightest crew thinks Trev is legit blessed by Andraste herself. i’d say another factor is also making contact with the Blades of Hessarian and recruiting them in, whose ranks and fever pitch about the Herald grows and grows. people really REALLY love them and the cult forms and all through it all it is never denied or put a stop to, but actually allowed to florish by Josie and Leliana. it’s an indirect protection too since no one can easily attack them cos they’d face wrathful followers instantly so cultivating their feelings indirectly is the constant Trev mood

@honeybee592 yesss like even when i was playing the base game when it released, evne towards the end before u fight Corypheus i knew my character would not be disbanding the Inquisition lol despite what Mother Giselle says about knowing when to lay it to rest. then Trespasser actually came and gave the option of either disbanding and continuing i cackled it was a no brainer i already knew way before then what their choice was gonna be 😂😂😂 MY CULT NOW
