not an ask nor a request, and i apologize if i sound a bit on the creepy side, but i just need to say how much i love your writing. your fics bring me an indescribable amount of joy to my day that i don’t think i will be able to fully explain. like my heart just gets fucking filled with happiness. your one of my top favorite blogs on this app, and i mean that wholeheartedly. i genuinely feel excitement when you post. your blogs is one of the reasons why i am so grateful that i didn’t delete tumblr so many months ago.

i can feel your passion with writing whenever i read your work, the sheer and undeniable love that you carry for every word you write. you bring the characters and their stories to LIFE. not only that, but your fics are creative ash! like wtf, how do think of these things. where the fuck are you pulling interesting ideas from??

it really breaks my heart when i don’t see people giving you all the engagement in the world, because you fucking deserve it. if one day you ever get tired of this blog, please don’t delete it. it’s such a great source of happiness not only for me, but other people too.

wow, what a review. 😊 first off, thank you for expending all the energy that i'm sure writing this took. it means a lot to think that someone would take the time out of their day to support me, either reading or writing. your comments made me think of a few things... i'd like to say-- the two rules that i've set for myself on this platform are:

write for yourself: if you do, you won't be disappointed. i suppose this ties more into the notion of my engagement? ideally, i think every writer wants someone to engage with their art but, i'm genuinely happy for those who comment on my pieces as it is. it's alright if it's not always high moments of interaction. a lot of the ideas just come from music and my daily life, but i get lots of wonderful requests that i do try to fill.

no deleting my blog. i know people do delete their blog but i like to keep these moments of life alive by looking back on what i've read. prior to writing miguel, i spent a good few years writing for vikings. if you hit the masterlist, it sort of speaks for itself. i don't write anymore, but i can't be bothered to delete anything to see how my writing has transformed over the years. i have unlisted a few fics, but i welcome anyone to still read if they find it in the search. so please know that i'm not going to delete.

i still have a lot to learn about writing like: show, don't tell (working on it!) and engaging in more dialogue. irregardless, i'm thankful to anyone who reads and enjoys my content for what it is. ❤️ i'm especially thankful that the marvel community has been so supportive? it's wild to me that i haven't gotten death threats or excessive hate mail when i so used to... thank you all for being here! it means the world.

PAIRING ➨ hvitserk lothbrok x freyja

GENRE ➨ (somewhat) smut, historical fiction, fantasy.

SUMMARY ➨ the goddess of war, freyja, is put onto kattegat to aid the lothbroks during their future raids. both the seer and aslaug have seen her coming, and the queen welcomes her with open arms. catching the eye of hvitserk lothbrok, she treats him as no one has done before; as an equal, instead of a dog.

MASTERLIST

feeling something press against her ankle, freyja’s eyebrows furrow, creating deep creases on her glabella, pressing her cheek deeper into the pillows she rested on. her foot flicked up, almost like a cow’s ear flicking away a fly, trying to knock away whatever hovered over her. however, it continued, moving up her calf, up to her thigh, then to the softness of her hips, and feeling it tickle against the exposed skin, she realizes of what it could be. “good morning,” hvitserk’s voice was tranquil in the still air of dawn, his hand moving down to the velvety folds in between her legs, middle finger circling her bundle of nerves, freyja’s mouth opening in a silky sigh. “no one but us is awake,” he whispered into her ear, nipping at the satiny skin of her neck. 

“is it that early in the morning?” she moans, arching her neck to give him more room to continue his assault. 

“you said that you’ll be here for me in the morning!” he whines, actually whines, his hand landing on her neck, fingers wrapping around into they could touch the back, where her spine was, his pointer finger on top of her ear as his middle finger felt the lobe.  the goddess’ lips quirk up in a smile, “i guess i did, hvitserk.” her left leg wrapped around his waist, using her strength to roll them both over, hvitserk landing on his back as if he were deadweight. “then i have a promise to fulfill.”

when hvitserk walked into the great hall, a hush falls over the waking individuals, a pep in his step as he made his way towards the table where his family sat. they had all heard everything. the thump of the bed against the wall, the soprano moans that verberated out of the room into the halls, the guttural groans that accompanied them, and then, the call of the names within the room.

hvitserk and freyja. 

when the prince walked towards the table to fill his belly with the warm breakfast the thralls had cooked, they noticed slight differences in him. his gait was jovial, his hair perfectly laid with braids freyja had taken her time to place, his skin glowed, his eyes held a euphoric look. “it seems as if he was fucked to valhalla and back,” sigurd calls out, the men in the hall cheering the second eldest on, some clapping his shoulder as he pulled the chair from under the table. he didn’t dare look his mother in the eye, afraid of what she would do since hearing him fuck the goddess she worshipped. would she congratulate him? punish him? he didn’t want to know the answer to that last one. 

“i heard you had sex with freyja,” aslaug’s voice boomed in the great hall. hvitserk nodded, twirling his fork in his fingers as he continued to eye the food placed on his plate. he tensed, readying himself to earning a slap to the face or a fork thrown in his direction. instead, his mother’s face eased into a smile, her hand reaching out to hold her son’s hand in hers. “it seems as if my son hvitserk has been chosen by the goddess of war, freyja!” the others cheer, raising their cups or horns in the air. “but, it also seems as he was chosen to help her bring forth more kind!” more clamor, people smacking hvitserk on the back, the lothbrok feeling the small pangs of discomfort from underneath the green kyrtill freyja had helped him put on. hvitserk sighs heavily when one of the slaps he received caused the torn piece of chicken in his hand to fall, landing on the wooded ground below him, someone else stepping on top of it. it was no longer salvageable. 

freyja stepped into the great hall, her falcon feather cloak seeming as it if were floating behind her, and as she moved her arm to pull away the right side of it from her body, two cats walked out and meowed, their coats a blue so subtle it was almost gray, emerald green irises looking around the halls. bygul and trjegul wandered around, the latter of which jumped up on one of the tables, staring directly at a man simply known as solveig, squinting his eyes as he waited to be fed. solveig tears a piece from the chicken leg he had, placing it in front of him.

purring, trjegul eats, licking the table clean after the meat had been eaten, his eyes closing slowly in happiness. he leaps off the table, walking gracefully along the floor towards freyja. reaching her hand out, trjegul jumps, taking her arm in his paws. quickly turning her arm around so he was upright, she presses him against her chest, her left hand coming up to stroke the fur behind his ear, purrs pouring from his mouth. freyja walks from the doorway of the hall to where hvitserk sat, watching him as he petted bygul, the cat tilting his head in content. placing a hand on hvitserk’s shoulder, she sits down on the empty spot next to him, chin resting against the top of her hand. sitting made her feel uncomfortable, feeling the all too familiar ache between her legs leaving a feeling of want, the goddess crossing her legs at the ankles to help alleviate it. “he’s never let anyone else touch him,” she softly remarks, she presses a kiss at the junction where his neck and shoulder meet. 

hvitserk shudders lightly, biting his bottom lip to stop a wanton moan from slipping out, but a few of the men that stood close laughed, knowing that the simple kiss gave him a reaction that he tried to hold back. “i’m glad that i am the first,” he turns to face her, taking her chin gently in his hand, leading her to his lips. hearing loud cheers coming from the men around them, freyja chuckles into the kiss. placing her free hand onto hvitserk’s soft cheek, she deepens the kiss for a second before pulling away, “we are still at the table with your family. i don’t think that it is proper.” 

his cheeks flushing a bright pink, he turns away from her, stabbing his fork onto the fish his mother’s maids had cooked. ivar, while still remaining a bit jealous that it was his brother the goddess favored, still chuckled at the fool he had made of himself, the deep blush on his cheeks, the awkward silence he had taken on. 

just that small comment from freyja made him stumble over his own two feet, so what made him so special that she had chosen him for procreation? hvitserk was the quieter of the brothers, always following the strongest, which was why he was margrethe’s second choice. he was always after ubbe. ivar didn’t care that he wasn’t even a choice for her. it meant that he was unattainable, something his brothers knew nothing about. almost every woman in kattegat has had a taste of them, and someday, they’re going to realize that they didn’t like them, and would all want ivar. 

but a rage burned deep inside of him. ubbe was always said to have been an exact copy of ragnar, their diplomatic father that had led them to rich lands, hvitserk now laid with the goddess of war, said to be the most beautiful in asgard, sigurd was born with the serpent-dragon fafnir in his eye, and ivar. . . he was born with frail bones and imponent. hvitserk must have had many unidentified children running around kattegat with how much he had slept around, and ivar. . . he could barely stand on his own. 

that thought alone made him want to kill his brothers.

a/n; so first of all , this is @honestsycrets fault , i love her fics but on of my favs is “just another day” , if you love vikings , you should check her out. this is inspired by it. and the lollipop things was a modern!tommy headcanon , i could not find it , if you know it , please tag it!. at this point ,this is a series

tommy was standing in the kitchen , his hands on his hips and a lollipop in his mouth. looking at daisy .

tommy stopped smoking inside your apartment when daisy started coming around. your sister suggested lollipops , as ridiculous as that sounds , it actually worked. he loves watermelon lollipops , but secretly prefers strawberry , because its daisy’s favorite flavor.

“tommy , you can’t just make her walk.” you laughed a little as you entered the kitchen 

“i am not leaving this place before she walks” he was already dressed, three piece suit and everything , he was supposed to be gone by now. 

he walked over to the fridge and got the little bottle of strawberry milk

“really , tommy? you will bribe her into walking ?” you scoffed as you stirred your coffee and leaned on the counter ”she won’t do it , im telling you”

“keep your negative thoughts to yourself.” 

he lifts daisy so that she stands , she clutches the coffee table near her , tommy walks to the kitchen counter , throws the lollipop in the trash and sits down on the floor , facing daisy. with the strawberry milk bottle in front of him.

“okay lets try this again” he sighs “come here daisy , you can do it , i believe in you” he motions for her to come

he then lifts the bottle and shakes it “i’ll give you this!”

she reached out to it , but she loses balance and falls on the ground . he goes back and lifts her to stand , this time closer , and she actually stands

“if she does walk , soph would be so pissed” you say to him , laughing as you stand beside him when he sits backdown. your hot cup of coffee is already forgotten

“i know” tommy looks at you mischievously , wiggling his brow and smirking 

tommy freezes , his mind slowly realizing how close he became to your sister , your family. 

“where are you?” tommy asks while he sheds his jacket on the sofa “im at your place”

“im taking lily to the hospital” you sigh 

“are her kidney acting up again?” he sighs as well when he hears lily groaning in the background.

“yeah”

“i told her to go and get checked . but she didn’t listen” he takes off his shoe “which shouldn’t surprise me , it kind of runs in your whole family”

“what are you accusing me of?”

“nothing, babe. keep me posted”

he never thought that he would ever be this invested in anyones life , let alone to be invested in a whole family. he remembers the random things that became a habit to him , like checking on sophie every other day or talking to hunter , your brother , about his new school.

it feels natural for him to care.

his train of thoughts is interrupted by you smacking his shoulder 

“tommy look” you whisper 

tommy’s eyes land on daisy , who is now walking slowly. her footsteps are shaky but are footsteps none the less.

she isn’t even reaching out for the strawberry milk that lays on the floor , she is reaching for tommy

“get the camera” tommy whispers to you , she wasn’t far at all , two more footsteps and she’ll be in tommy’s lap

you get your phone and squat next to tommy 

“come here baby , you can do it. i know you can” his arms are spread open ,

daisy takes on more foot steps and then goes head first into tommy’s embrace, he hugs her and laughs , he stands up and twirls her 

“thats my girl!” he is smiling and so is daisy

you send the video to sophie , and a picture of tommy holding daisy up in the air like a prize

: “im!! gonna!! kill!! both!! of! you!!!!”

Could you recommend some Vikings writers?

Oh, of course I can sweetheart!

I’m Ivar-biased, because of course I am, but here goes nothing:

You probably already know of @honestsycrets, @lisinfleur, @therealcalicali, @whenimaunicorn, they are fantastic writers and overall fantastic people that make the fandom what it is.

@peaceisadirtyword has written fantastic pieces on Ivar, everything in her masterlist, from Pity to First Time and everything in between, her work on modern!aus is what sold me to the idea of a modern retake on Vikings in the first place. Her fics are some of my all-time favorites, I still go back to reading them quite often. Marry Me still makes me all mushy inside, and I’ve probably read it tens of times.

@youbloodymadgenius is not only a lovely person that I don’t know what I did ot deserve the support of, she’s also an incredibly talented writer. Again, her modern!aus are incredible pieces I find myself thinking about through my day. Of her most recent, What Could Have Been and Angel’s Touch are masterpieces, and All Those Things still holds a big part of my heart.

@rosepetals-flyingbirds is also an amazing writer, with some of the most intriguing and original ideas I’ve come across. I’m currently reading Blue Eyes and it’s honestly so damn good, do yourself a favor and dive into the possibility of a ghost!Ivar, it’s sublime I tell you.

@artemiseamoon is almost single-handedly responsible for Oleg owning a lil piece of my heart now. Her work isn’t only incredibly well written with fascinating and developed OC’s, she’s also so damn good at switching between smut to angst to fluff to everything in between like it is nothing. Reading her work is a delight, you don’t want to miss The Golden Palace, trust me.

@maggiescarborough is making such a good case for Alfred in my book, she’s an incredibly talented writer whose every work is filled with the adoration she has for the characters (really, if you like Alfred, go to her masterlist right now, you won’t regret it, she probably loves him just as much if not more than you) Biggest Alfred fangirl I know, and biggest sweetheart too. She has amazing pieces on many characters though, this piece on Ivar mended my broken heart, and she’s written a heartbreaking story on 6a Hvitty getting some help. Can’t forget this one, Gods, this one lives rent free in my head since last chapter istg.

@xbellaxcarolinax is incredibly talented, and incredibly dedicated to her work. Her series Forging a Heart is one of my all-time favorites, I still think about the finale and get emotional, it’s just so good, and you learn to love every character within the stories she tells. Heartbreaker is a story I’m currently reading and holy hell, you really don’t wanna miss that one if you like modern!aus, trust me.

I know I am going to forget people, I know I’m leaving out some fantastic pieces I haven’t mentioned, and some works that have broken/mended my heart have not been mentioned; and I’m sorry.

I decided to start this sideblog @naaladareias-fic-reblogs only for fanfiction reblogs, also other creative content. It will be mainly Vikings fandom but occasionally other fandoms too. Let's see how it works. 😄 

I'll also keep reblogging fics and other creative content on my main blog @naaladareia but here I want to reblog things right after being online to help spread fics and content, because I often need a while to read and comment with job keeping me busy and reading & commenting in a foreign language needs a bit of time. 🤗 (So forgive me for reblogging here without commenting.)

Do you know active Vikings fans? Because I've noticed there are a lot of fans who aren't active anymore, which is a little bit depressing. I just have the urge to have more Viking content.

I think @honestsycrets has her finger on the pulse of the active fandom. I am definitely not following a lot of people who are still fully invested in the show.

You can always look at the "most recent" for the tags of your favorite characters, I'm sure that will find you the newest fics and gifs. Then you can follow those blogs!

❛ sy’s notes | ha... hi. this is me coming back from yet another hiatus. heartbreak and anger are my writing fuels. here's some of my king.

In some things, Ragnar is mysterious. His features remain even, deceptively so, until you’re splayed open like a bloody sacrifice, split open as an enemy, or your heart sundered as his lover.

In other cases, such as drinking around a wide-open fire, he is legible. With a haze tearing across his eye, he follows your movements around the fire. He thinks with the cowl flopped across his head that he is not so obvious-- or perhaps he doesn’t even care. He swirls his cup of ale, clicks his tongue across the top of his mouth, and looks up with a forehead of wrinkles. It’s not your first hint.

“What is it?” you say.

There are only a few stragglers from the heavy night of boozing. Even though many are in their beds, Ragnar remains steady with his drink in hand. He tips his cup and stares into it. As if inside, there may be better answers than you could give.

“Ragnar.”

You pluck up the bottom of your gown, squeezing past Rollo’s limp body to where Ragnar sat on a scratchy trunk. He glances up and spares you one curious glance as you kneel before him. You peel back the cowl from his bound braids, let it drop around his neck, and trace your finger alongside his pale head. He leans into the touch, letting his head nearly face yours while facing a woolen tent.

“I don’t know if you know your tents. Floki and Helga’s are over there,” He flicks his thick, dirtied finger toward one tent, curiously angled upon the hill away from the line of others. Then he drops his booze by his brown boot. It sloshes over your sandals-- but that’s unimportant in the face of his need. You release a sigh and draw your hand to his jawline, prickling your fingertips in the process.

“Don’t be so jealous.”

He laughs. A puff of his cool, boozy breath hits your thumb.

“I'm not jealous.” He lies. You settle your thumb atop of his cracked lower lip and murmur his name a second time. It goes unnoticed. “Why would I be jealous?”

“Really,” you state.

He stares into the crackling ember. It dances in the sea of his eyes for a moment before he speaks again. “Should I be?”

“Ragnar.” You lecture him. Though he wants to say something more, you drag your skirts up, straddle him on his log and kiss the busted crook on his nose. He moistens his lips with a bobble of his head, setting his large hand on your ass, knowing it's as good as a ‘no.’

“Didn’t think so.”

Hey!! Im a WOC that would really like to write TLK fics that include WOC/POC in general as well as x reader etc, but I don't know if they would make much sense or would be received well, since the show and majority of the fandom itself is white. Do you have any tips on what to do? xx

I'd suggest you do it and tag me! Lol I write TLK Vikings works. I started this blog only writing for the Vikings fandom, (which is similar to TLK). In the show there are no black characters but do not be swayed. Write it. All of my reader inserts are black— and if you can write in the historical genre well it’s a no. Issue to make her/him black.

As I was saying on my other post— Research is the key. Once you have a clear understand on how to write in that time period it’s pie. My favorite site for research on the VIkings Era is The Viking Answer Lady that should help on knowing more about the era. Create magic honey. ❤️

PS: my favorite fandom on here is the Vikings/The Last Kingdom because those ladies/men are the most rallying behind people I’ve found. They support no matter what and my closest friends on here are from that fandom! Shout out to y’all! 🙃❤️

Shannygoat’s Birthday Party - My First Writing Challenge

It’s my birthday this week (April 18th), and I what better birthday gift than some new material from my favorite authors?

I would like to do a birthday writing or mood-board challenge. I don’t know if this is going to work, because I’m so extra, but what the hell - I’ll never know unless I try.

Oh I have a lot! Lately I barely had time to read fanfics calmly and commenting and reblogging 😔 I will do it as soon as life gives me a break! But I can tell you some that I’ve read lately!

Mess in the Kitchen

pairing: modern!hvitserk x reader

summary: your husband wants christmas cookies, but something gets in the way...

You sipped on the piping hot chocolate, going over the small list you held in your hand. Your grocery trip was supposed to be just an in and out type of thing, but you decided to bring your husband along.

Hvitserk loved food shopping almost as much as he loved you. Almost. You were still determined to keep that #1 place in his heart which is why you agreed to go out into the snow to buy baking ingredients.

The two of you decided on having a date night at home and Hvitserk was adamant about baking gingerbread cookies. One look at his puppy dog eyes and you were a goner. You wished you had more self control because now you were alone in the store as he had wandered off some minutes ago.

Sighing, you pushed the little cart along the aisle, looking for the specific bottle of vanilla you needed. Just your luck, it was on the very top shelf. You grumbled some swear words as you placed your hot chocolate in the little cup holder and struggled to reach the bottle. Your fingers grazed the small glass as your husband spoke.

“I’m loving the view, babe.” You could practically hear the smirk he wore.

“I’m sure you-” You cut yourself as you watched him gulp down your drink. “Hvitty! That’s my hot chocolate!” You whined as you slapped his arm.

He sheepishly smiled and wrapped his arms around your waist. “I promise i’ll buy you another on our way out.”

“You sure as hell are.” You playfully glared at him and began pushing the cart to the self checkout area. Hvitserk took care of everything as you made your way outside, not joking about him buying you another drink.

The ride home was pleasant enough as you listened to your husband horribly sing christmas songs. You were so glad he never took up a singing career like his brother. You two quickly got the groceries into the apartment, wanting desperately to get out of the cold.

After a quick dinner of pizza and beer, you started on the cookies. You’d previously looked up a recipe online that seemed simple enough. Hvitserk wasn’t much help during the baking process as he opted to eat the raw batter and decorative icing straight out of the bag. The amount of times you whacked him with the wooden spoon was ridiculous.

“15 minutes and they should be done.” You sighed as you plopped yourself onto the couch next to him. His arm immediately wrapped around you, placing a kiss on your forehead.

“I’m so excited.” He mumbled, eyes trained on the television in front of him.

You rolled your eyes at him. Of course he’d be wanting dessert right after eating dinner. You took the quiet moment you had to admire your husband. He was so handsome and you were so in love with everything about him. You’d been married going on two years and the butterflies he gave you on the first date still remained. You were incredibly lucky to have him in your life, he loved you more than anything and catered to all your needs. Speaking of needs, you thought.

“Hey baby?” You whispered as you moved yourself to sit right on his lap, his hands immediately going to your hips.

He hummed, raising his eyebrows at you.

“I miss you,” You ghosted your lips over his just teasing him for a few as your hands played with his braids.

Hvitserk let out a chuckle, “We’re together everyday, my love.” His hands were running up and down your back, you were severely missing his touch.

“No no, I miss you.” Your hips began grinding against his, hoping he’d get the hint at what you wanted. The lightbulb went off in his head in an instant, a small ‘oh’ falling from his mouth.

Your lips crashed against his, his hand coming to hold your head in place as your tongues fought. Hvitserk gripped your hip tightly, helping you move them along his. He reached the hem of your shirt, pulling it up and helping you rip it off. His lips trailed down your neck, leaving little bites and sucking along the way. You threw your head back in ecstasy, finally getting the attention you needed.

Being so lost in each other, you barely had time to register the repeated beep of the fire alarm going off in the kitchen. You scrambled off your husband, both of you making a beeline to the stove that had smoke pouring out of it. Hvitserk cursed as he opened it as hastily pulled out the try and dumped it on the counter. You opened up the small window to air out the room before turning to your husband who had a giant frown on his face.

“You burnt the cookies.” His pout was adorable, but you couldn’t help but laugh as you walked up to him. Wrapping your arms around his waist, you left little pecks along his face.

“I’m so sorry honey.” You mumbled against his lips.

A look of realization crossed his face as he grinned, “You know what? I think i’m actually craving something else.”

You were about to question him when he scooped you up in his arms and headed towards the bedroom.

“Hvitserk!” You giggled at his change of mood.

You we’re really in for it tonight. One, for burning his cookies and two, cause he was really craving you now.
