in my dream, I traveled back in time and I was in the middle of this quad where it was raining really hard, and there were groups of Mexican people dancing along to songs, showing their fortitude to preserve culture even when the white people were being thrown back by the rain and wind. I joined in dancing and idk exactly who but I was with people I knew but they were distinctly younger than me and so my usual relationship with them was thrown off. The dancing was being wrapped up and in the distance I heard “cooking up a storm piece of cake cake cake.. oh this shits so bussin!” and it stood out because, again, I traveled back in time and in the dream, it was probably around noeasy time. I spot changbin, and I think we had somewhat known each other, if only met once kinda thing. I go up to him and ask “hey what’s this song called?” cause I didn’t know if it was like a leak type of thing where they slyly reference it in the past like skz have done. But changbin goes silent and I say “this is gonna sound crazy, it’s gonna sound like a movie line but you have to believe me because it’s true. I’m from the future and I can tell you some things that will really make you believe me” and I could tell changbin didn’t necessarily believe me but was also a little nervous about what I might say. And so I said quietly “do you know anything about …Super Bowl… 5 star….” and he was instantly like fuck…. Because I’m an outsider who knows info that could really ruin things for skz yknow, so I said “don’t worry I won’t tell anyone. But if I could say, it would be cool if you did more hip hop type songs, if that’s something you’re still interested in.” And he kinda laughed but he was definitely still nervous about the whole thing. We continued to walk and talk a little w the intention of walking to where we were staying in this town but this person I knew told me that he was staying in the opposite direction, and so I was like “oh shit! Sorry I��ll let you go and I promise I won’t say anything!” But before I could leave, changbin stopped me from leaving and I was like ?? and he told me to follow him. He went down these stairs and at the bottom was chan and they were talking and instantly I was like …..oh I’m in trouble. chan looked pissed but I followed down the stairs and chan told me to follow him but my friend had tagged along right behind me. I told them that they should probably go back now, because chan was probably wanting to discuss what I knew etc etc. but she still followed, even when chan looked upset that she was following too. we go down these stairs, and what you have to know is that all of this was happening near a sea. Down the stairs is a kind of a dock? one that has a boat waiting to be boarded on but below the ground. Chan had some kind of power there because it was nighttime at this point so the dock was closing but he told the guy to prepare the boat to go and the guy did it. The boat started to drift and at this point I turned to my friend, hoping to ask them to leave because I really didn’t wanna be in any more trouble but she jumped onto the boat. Chan told me to get in but he called me hyung AHDNDH I just have to mention that cause at first I thought he called the boat guy hyung but he was definitely calling me hyung, even though he was speaking English the whole time + I would’ve been younger than him at the time too but yknow man, take it where you can get it. And so I get on the boat sooo nervously, I’m about to be killed or lectured to death, and I’m having to sit right next to him. I sit down and am strapping myself in and everything, cause this “boat” is closer to a motor powered peddle boat so we’re right on the edge of water. I’m adjusting stuff and I tell him “hey just so you know, I get motion sickness on water so you have about an hour until I throw up” and then I woke up so I never got the lecture and honestly I couldn’t be more grateful

But yes they probably do have a horrendous OR bare minimum oral routine since I imagine them as someone who puts their all into things that trigger their impulses/interests but will be sluggish or lazy on anything else. These ‘anything else’ ranging from hygiene (their messy ahh lab may be unsalvageable though…) to actual research stuff (namely paperwork, honestly understandable). Sometimes they may also forget to eat since they kept delaying themselves from going through the effort of ‘making/retrieving the food’.

Kaalaa Baunaa may not be immune towards these tendencies either. I feel like she is the type of person to neglect her own wellbeing. BUT she is very attentive of others’ needs as seen in her character event. She’s the type to tell others to take care of themselves but struggle to apply said advice to herself, which is valid. She would advice Medpoc to take care of themselves (they hate to do it but do it anyways), though they would also bark back, telling her to practice her own preachings. So at the end they accidentally made her ALSO take care of herself by being a little hater. She will try her best to be a good example for them <3 I love her very much.

YES she would make toasts for them… And peanut butter sandwiches… Like, they won’t even ask her for food but she KNOWS they like to skip meals so she’ll prepare their faves for them.

SKZ 5 STAR COMEBACK THOUGHTS

first, a review of the songs and then my overall thoughts!!

Hall of Fame: from the get go, it establishes the space vibe with the opening tune! a great opening love the galileo and armstrong references etc, although the 'one small step' quote from armstrong, while it does fit the theme, kinda breaks up the song for me so it's not my favourite part. the build up in the prechorus is SO GOOD! the chorus is really punchy and i'm so in love with felix's little rap verse he really does make it iconic.

S-Class: so so so COOL!! the whistling part is so awesome and it starts with guns blazing with changbin's rap. HYUNJIN SLAYED THAT VERSE!! i really love it. all the raps are so good and the serpent road melody is so good?? THIS CHORUS IS HIGHLY ADDICTIVE!! the switch to a slower beat and the hip hop vibe was very unexpected but very welcome :) the buildup to the second chorus is so great omg i love how its the same but different! seungmin was really good in the we're special part ughhhh the dance break slayed so much as well i just have positive things to say about this song except maybe the ending i don't hate but also don't love how it ends

ITEM: GAMER ERA!! it's 'funnily annoying' just like they said in the intro video really does give video game vibes! super addictive and i love the diction as changbin focused on it really levels up the song. ITEM ITEM I ATE THEM PAC MAN!!! han's rap >>> i also like felix's celebrate we gonna elevate line that was so good i ate that shit up. Super Bowl: omg. literally. i can see how it was meant to be the original gods menu but im glad they saved it for five star because it honestly just fits so much better with this album and it feels a lot more cohesive. ENGLISH SONG KINGS!! every line is just pure mastery ugh i'm so hooked onto this song and the way chan says ruULes like >>>> changbin's rap ughhhhh and then jeongin saying the everything you're craving its all me like TOAST?? BABY BREAD WHO? and then the stunner HELL OF A LINE I KNOW ITS HELLA FINE HELLS KITCHEN TASTING DIVINE!! the backing instrumental is quite simple which works well because the singing isn't overshadowed. never thought i'd live to see the day hanji said 'bussin' but WHO ELSE?? such a killer like omg and then the chorus UGH I DIED the whispering the word play the seductive vibe with the urge to shake my ass off and ugh i can't compute. heyday reference by changbin!!! lee know's prechorus was so good ugh i really would like a mv or smth for this as well. the bridge was really good imo!!! and the transition from the 'bring the rain' to 'cooking up a storm' and having the same semantic field UGHHHH the ending with felix was so fine as well 🤤

DLC: THIS IS SO GREAT!! the instrumental is so nice, a lot lighter than the previous songs and a nice break from the heaviness hehe. the tune is so addictive and i love the SUNRISE part <3. even if the lyrics are a bit sad, as @oh-the-aster-blooms put it, 'sometimes when you are sad, dancing all night sounds better', and i totally agree :) everything just kinda flows so well and their voices work really well together. i really adore i.n's 'run away run away' part my baby has such an angelic voice. the bridge is also cool :)

GET LIT: idk is it just me but for some reason get lit just brings worth it by 5th harmony to mind with the jazzy vibes at the start, but like...better (no offence to 5th harmony) this is such a swag brag song! the raps are so great to start off omg and then the sudden transition to seungmin's beautiful voice ugh THE CHORUS!!!! i love how felix does his line and it drops into the vibe. the next verse is so like subtle brag idk how to explain it but the swerve swerve part> i do feel imo that the bridge is bit disconnected at the beginning but when changbin does his 'speaker' part it flows really well. i like the dance break! it is a bit repetitive but oh well it slays anyways.

Collision: i saw someone somewhere say it was like chill on steroids (idk who u are sorry for not giving credit 🙇‍♀️) and its so true. it really has the same vibe like sad but also like vibey idk i think the instruments help a lot with establishing that mood. vocalracha slayed in this >>> so did hyunjinnie and lee know <;3 babe i loved you that line is so good felix >>> and BANG CHAN IN THE VERSE AFTER THE FIRST CHORUS?? so good ugh its like a rainy day kinda song when u just feel a bit sentimental. also felix and...was it lee know? in the second pre chorus? that sounded so amazing ughhhh i really like that metaphor of crashing its very bittersweet <3 han slayed again

FNF: such a strong start with chan!!! changbin and han's raps were so great and the prechorus was really like heart rending idk thats jsut the power of vocalracha ig and again as @oh-the-aster-blooms and i were discussing the chorus does have a great pace which does give the impression of trying to catch up! it gives off movie soundtrack vibes imo. the way they blended their voices with felix was so cool!! hyunjinnie slayed that rap damn. the bridge was so good as well. the meaning behind this song >>

Youtiful: such a sweet song showing their love for stay! chan's explanation was so TT i love my boys so much the instrumental is so soft and soothing and the lyrics >>> listening to this just made my heart warm. its the audio version of chan's big hug <3 this was a very good song for chan. also seungmin, lee know and i.n as well!! i could listen to my babe jeongin saying 'you are a miracle' for ever. the chorus slaps.

i don't really count these two as part of the album as they were already released/just a translated ver so its a lot briefer

THE SOUND (Korean Ver.): the Japanese version slayed, so does this. i liked how they changed the chorus, and everything just fits well idk sometimes i find the translated versions a bit jarring after being used to the og one but this is really good!

Bendy and the Dark Revival thoughts: Luke Rambles

So, I finished the game yesterday ! Pretty neutrally positive thoughts overall !

I didn't get in excpecting anything, BatDR became more of a running joke in my mind more than anything, so I really struggled to get hyped for the VERY SUDDEN release date announcement. I was pleasantly surprised of the game's weight, I was expecting something akin to the monstruous 80gb of security breach to be welcomed by a dainty 15gb which might be stupid but I like my games on the lighter side. The trailer didnt rock my nuts too much but it turned me mildly optimistic despite the absolute LACK OF SUBTITLES that I find absolutely unexcusable as it is the most basic accessibility feature you can implement both for hard of hearing folks, people with audio processing disorders, and non native english speakers that struggle with spoken english.

But besides that, maybe this game can be good, I thought.

Ill organise my own personal opinions below ill try to put all the negative after everything but im a little hater it will seep through the cracks sorry

VISUALS:

Now as a Morrowind fan I'm not too much of a graphics whore, I'll settle for anything as long as it plays nice but um. The shits bussin. They really took BATIM and faceapp filter yassified it. I guess they upgraded from a mouse to a graphic tablet. Genuinely it looks awesome. The ink is inking, the sepias are soft and really enjoyable to look at, the light effects are quite nice- although I would have enjoyed a little less flickering lights (head hurty, wouldve been nice to have a toggle so photosensitive folks can also enjoy the game but oh well) but overall it looks GOOD.

AUDIO:

Music and sound ruled !!!! I wish I could have enjoyed it fully in both ears (suffering from minor to worrying ear troubles for the time being) but I know I will whenever I can. NOT AS ICONIC as BATIM's OST but !!! Really atmospheric and fitting, excellent work once again. Voice acting was really good!!!!! LOVED the Ink Demon's voice a lot because I had a bendy ask blog in 2017 they were catering to me, the monsterfucker, specifically. Good. All the monster's voices were SOOOOOO yummy as well.

GAMEPLAY:

Yeah! Really a step up from BATIM, but without comparing the two games constantly I do think it was really enjoyable and refreshing, new abilities fitting in smoothly despite some being quite useless or rather not used to their potential, LOVED the sneak mechanic I just wish it was smoother and sneak on press rather than a toggle but ! Whatever. It was a really nice experience overall, the puzzles were fun and kept me busy !

CHARACTERS:

I love Audrey. She's really fun and I really enjoyed sharing her adventure with her shes a really nice character if anyone dares to shit on her I will mail them a large hammer on a spring inside a shoebox. Allison!!! Alice!!! Honestly big win for the cool women whose name beings with an A fandom. Betty was quite alright too. I'm genuinely glad there's more women in the game. It was nice to see previous characters as little cameos, not too fond of the new characters introduced but thatll come in the hater section.

STORY:

Eh???? It was a little confused but it was fine I guess. Didn't pay too much attention to it to be frank.

HATERISM:

Cracks knuckles. Its gonna bleed.

First of all what soured up my mood instantly was the subtitle option being absolutely incomplete. If you offer a subtitle option you should have EVERY SPOKEN WORD subtitled. No excuses for this one it pissed me off so bad. The tapes made me so upset. BATIM got it right, you had the transcript show up on the side as the tape rolled on and while you CAN access the transcripts in the inventory and play them along it breaks the flow so bad for no reason and its just a shame. No subtitles for the lost ones talking, none for the studio tour speakers either. Why is there a subtitle option at all if you're gonna half ass it like that. Accessibility matters and as I said before its THE most basic thing you can do. Do better. Also regarding accessibility/comfort but not as important but still is to me I wish remapping the controls could have been an option.

The constant fucking jumpscares really cheapened my experience as well. They leave me unphased (my brain works so slow I simply dont process anything sudden. Ennemy pops up I hit it. Theres no EUHGHHH THAT WASNT THERE BEFORE!1!!11!! Reaction) ended up jokingly predicting them before they happened, and the little ghost cunt (she did made me jump a few times) couldve been easily scrapped from the game like WHATS THE POINT. If you need to put shitty jumpscares regularly to make your horror game scary well. Maybe dont make a horror game. Not to go on a tangent but horror is SO interesting BATIM as a setting has so much to offer for the genre from uncanny designs to mind breaking non euclidian environments to ambience claustrophobia opression the ink demon tracking you down like game theres SO MUCH. Why settle for jumpscares. Begging on my hands and knees for the devs to play the two first silent hill games with a notebook on the side. But also bendy does NOT have to be a horror game!!! But whatever. Im normal now. I lied.

The whole game, while being quite good and enjoyable, felt really FULL but SHALLOW at the same time. So many new characters that get a single half listened to tape I can't give less of a crap about, notes scattered all across the levels, but none of them really stuck. I had forgotten Porter even existed half into chapter 4 which is a SHAME. One one hand it made the world feel more populated but at the same time everything felt brushed over. I wish Bendy would have been more of an actual threat more than a random little AUGHH you gotta hide!!! Every ten minutes. Dont warn me let me hear his heartbeat and let my vision go black as i walk around and realise I need to RUN for the closest miracle station. I really wish all the super cool new mechanics were used more in depth... Also they didn't make Henry fat and it makes me so enraged for no valid reason but still I will bark about it.

Dont care for the story much again it was a little blegh but I still really liked playing. Will replay it, even. I want Wilson to step on me.

splendid day today. class was fine. finished some assignments. didn’t lose my shit at anyone and say something horrible. nobody’s mad at me. had normal human interactions.

cat food i ordered for my beast arrived. decant thing of my fave fragrance also arrived. the smell is familiar and uplifting and it makes me feel happy. bought a protein drink from 7-11 at the market before hailing my bike taxi and it was bussin 🔥🔥🔥.

it’s the first of the month, so it was busier than usual. had to wait a while but there was a busker singing some old country songs, and all the lights from the cars and stalls were stunning, and everyone was heading somewhere. i didn’t mind being there for a little while longer.

while i was nearby i dropped by the bank to make a withdrawal so i could pay the bus fare in cash.

u ever been around two sirens that oscillate around different pitches? an ambulance being escorted by a police motorcycle whizzed by. it was just like that clip with the guy and the hurricane sirens harmonizing. beautiful and haunting. never heard something like that before irl. when i make my movie or animation or something like that one day u bet i’m plagiarizing that shit from real life. it’s just too cool.

i’m having some fruit and water for dinner right now. wanted to draw something cuz i feel good but honestly i’m pretty tired and i might just go to bed after i shower. i have to be up early again tomorrow.
