what do you recommend for people who are very new to deadpool comics and looking to get into them?

hiii thank u for asking!! this is kind of a complicated question because there's no right answer really. especially with deadpool, there's no actual best starting point because besides the basic origin story that he was experimented on, everything else about him is fair game (he just lies all the time and has false memories about his past) and so all the comics are different and pretty much standalones. but here's a list of a few comics depending on what you want to explore (i have not read every deadpool comic ever so this is not the best list but i will get there):

for shorter and more lighthearted reads:

deadpool (2022)—SO so cute wade has a crush on this non-binary assassin and it's actually adorable how much he likes them lol. in terms of shorter deadpool comics i think this one is quite a standout [update: the ongoing deadpool (2024) is brilliant as well and is a direct in-depth continuation of this]

deadpool infinity comic (2021)—a short partnership with sue storm. funny and the art style is so cute too

dogpool infinity comic (2024)—this is just cute and logan is in it too

deadpool (2018) #6—the issues in this run are all kinda standalone stories (although they all connect at the end). they're all a fun time but this issue in particular is hilarious. comics usually don't make me actually laugh but this one did

for a more meta read that explores exactly what makes wade unique from other superheroes:

deadpool kills the marvel universe (2011)—in my opinion THE most iconic deadpool run, i'm sure everyone's heard of it lmao. a little darker but hey cameos from every marvel character ever. this was the first deadpool comic i ever read and it was a good time

for a familiar face from deadpool and wolverine (for other specific familiar faces you could just search "deadpool vs [character]" and that comic would probably exist):

for long in-depth characterisation that explores a lot of deadpool lore:

deadpool (2012)—if you've been following me you might know this is my favourite deadpool comic ever. it's pretty depressing and much grittier than the movie deadpool you might be used to, also REALLY long so it can be daunting but it's very worth it imo. it starts to get really good by the good, the bad, and the ugly issue and there's just SO much in it. for me wade in this run is inseparable from wade as a character to me (this comic is also followed up with deadpool (2015) and despicable deadpool (2017). these aren't necessary to read because 2012 kind of wraps up on its own, but it's definitely bittersweet to get to the end)

deadpool (1997)—another hulk of a comic run. i have not read this yet but i've heard very good things about it, and many people say that joe kelly is the defining deadpool writer so you could give it a go! older comics may be a little harder to read though, from experience

for comics with ellie (wade's daughter) that you may want to read in order if you want to fully appreciate her and wade's relationship:

a lot of comics will sometimes redirect you to other comics that explore a sideplot, and the main comic will just pick up where those left off so you could miss some storyline. despite this it's not necessary to read those other comics, but if you want to avoid multiple instances of this when you first go in, then i would suggest starting with the shorter runs!!

Oo are we doing pet names?

Alastor uses a few in natural speech like "dear" and "sweetheart". Darling feels natural, and cher is actually used in New Orleans if the sites I've seen are right. Dearest is a nice extension of dear. I would suggest "dollface" because I mean...look at Lucifer. But it doesn't feel...sophisticated enough? for Alastor.

I think it's funny if Alastor just kinda...insults him in French? just with a possessive "mon" in front? Like a more classy way of saying "that's my idiot".

I think it'd be hilarious if Alastor just dropped "mon petit chou" because it's a common French endearment I remembered and when I looked up the translation it was "my little cabbage" which is so fucking dumb I love it. And the idea of Lucifer understanding the words but not knowing the context and being baffled is so funny to me. Alastor shamelessly just looking at him like "Hm? Is something wrong?"

If he were to be, like, vulnerable, "mon cœur" means is a French endearment that mans "my heart" so that's a uhhhhh thing you can use >.>

I personally like other people calling Lucifer "Luci" or "Lu", but it doesn't really fit Alastor to me. But I think it's hilarious if anyone jokingly calls him "Lulu".

I think Lucifer calling Alastor "deer" is funny and honestly suits their senses of humor. I think he might also use more typical and modern feeling endearments, maybe as a joke at first but then just keeps doing it. Sweetheart, sweetie, baby, babe, things like that. Maybe "beau" if he's being kinda old fashioned. Maybe "lovely" as a less intimate option for "love".

Lucifer also calling Alastor things in every language BESIDES English or French is funny but also kinda sweet because Alastor has no idea what's being said to him and might think it's an insult (as he does to Lucifer) and it might be, or it might be the sweetest thing ever, and only Lucifer knows. Adorable, affectionate, antagonistic. That's them lmao

While I don't know if/when either would be at the point to say it, I'm an absolute sucker for "beloved".

"Please welcome Tenoch Huerta and (Y/n) (L/n)!!" Jimmy Kimmel announced and the audience cheered. Tenoch and you walked outside by side waving at your fans. This felt like a dream come true. After all these years of acting, this was your big break. You quickly hug Jimmy before settling down. The host started by asking Tenoch how landing the role of Namor was. Of course, he retells the hilarious zoom call including the 'I never drown before' line. You and everyone else laugh at his story seeing the comedy. 

"What about you (Y/n)? How does it feel being the Queen of Talokan? Did your zoom meeting freeze as well?" Jimmy smirked. 

"No! I almost choked on my drink when my Agent said Ryan Coogler requested a Zoom meeting. We talked about the character and his idea for the movie. I didn't hesitate to say yes. But unlike some I knew how to swim.", You chuckle as Tenoch grins putting his head on your shoulder. 

For the past year, you and Tenoch have been inseparable. The teenager's crush on both sides had been obvious to everyone but you and Tenoch. You never revealed this to anyone but after the call with Ryan, the curiosity got the better of you. He mentioned Tenoch Huerta would be playing Namor. The King of Talokan and (Y/c/n)'s husband. So you googled him. Oh God had you been surprised by this sexy man. 

The interview continued, finally landing on the topic of their outfits. Jimmy mentioned how kids missed dressing as Namor or (Y/c/n) for Halloween. Tenoch shook his head no. The host then pulled out a picture of Namor's comic outfit. 

"So instead of going full speedo, you went boxer brief shorts?" Jimmy asked and you see Tenoch nod. "Did you or the producer name this call?"

"Thankfully the producer."

"But I did I ask for a full body suit with muscles included….but I didn't get that." He adds, causing everyone to laugh. "So I call them the shame short."

"Same shorts?!" Jimmy chuckled. You rolled your eyes. 

"I don't see them as shame shorts. In fact- I asked them to do the speedo." You admit finally. 

"Is that why they talked about making them shorter?!" Tenoch looked at you flushed. 

"Yes. But for reasons they did not. I honestly was upset about it." You add having no shame when the audience chuckled. "However they did make the shorts tighter than originally planned. I asked for them to be tighter around the crotch area but sadly they said no." 

"(Y/n)! You are making us blush!" Jimmy said. "Tenoch, did you know this?" 

"N-No! I had no clue!" He adds turning to you crossing his arms pretending to be upset.

"(Y/N)!" Tenoch blushed. The crowd whistled when Jimmy pulled up a picture of Tenoch's shirtless body.

"What Tenoch? I was being honest." You laughed and took his hand going back into the waiting room until your shared car would be ready and heated properly. 

"What assets are you talking about anyway?" He questioned sitting beside you. The man smelled like warm spices, his dark brown eyes gazed into your (e/c) orbs. It had been a hard month containing your feelings for Tenoch.

"TENOCH HUERTA!" You yelled playfully, slapping his chest. He grabbed your wrist. For a second there is no sound. You two simply stared at each other. He moved you back on the couch slightly on top of you. 

"Tenoch (Y/n) the car- oh…Sorry…By the way make sure to tell Winston he owes me $25." Jimmy said before backing out of the room.

- Sakusa has EDS (specifically hEDS)

- ^^ he has thin and stretchy skin (and visible veins)

- ^ might have been self-conscious about that when younger (but Atsumu loves tracing all his veins so he’s less self-conscious about it these days)

- Ushijima was his first crush, though I don’t think it is that deep necessarily, but more that Sakusa finally saw another boy who cared about hygiene and was like thank fuck I’m not gonna be stuck with the gross boys I’m surrounded by, there’s a chance for me lmao

- ^ connected to that, I do think that Sakusa is only attracted to men and found it very distressing, not for homophobic reasons but simply because women are usually cleaner and the idea of dating someone who doesn’t wash their hands after peeing horrified him lol

- Lots of his joints are prone to dislocation or subluxation. Specifically his shoulders and knees.

- he used to avoid carrying heavy things with his left arm because it would just pop out of the socket.

- Sakusa grew up in a very ableist household. Rich parents insisting on having perfect children resulted in Sakusa pushing through a lot more than he should have

- a doctor suggested he was autistic and his parents asked if it could be ‘fixed’. When the doctor said no, they just claimed he wasn’t autistic and moved on.

- Sakusa didn’t address any of his mental health issues until his second year of university. He only realised because he was talking to his doctor about his symptoms, worried it was some underlying disease, only to be told it was anxiety and suggested to see a psychologist

- Sakusa almost didn’t see a psychologist, but ended up doing it out of rebellion against his parents.

- Rebel. Take care of yourself. I believe in you.

- It took him a long time to get confident enough about his disability to tell Komori that saying things like “its usually just in his head” is a pretty shitty thing to say to someone who has chronic joint issues. Komori is super apologetic because he hadn’t realised he was belittling Sakusa’s problems.

- later on this translated into him cooking for his mom when he was old enough to cook on his own. He loves taking care of people by feeding them. He loves that food can be a way to communicate and show love to people.

- The twins would join their mom for pamper nights

- this almost certainly started with their mom being like “I just need some me time” and Atsumu being like “ok but can I join?” “But Atsu, we’re gonna wear sticky gooey face masks~ and watch gross romance movies~” “...ok but can we have popcorn too?” “… yeah we can have popcorn.” so it turned from me time to Miya time lol

- Osamu sometimes joins but not always

- the twins have seen all the twilight movies so many times they could quote it from memory

- they quote it to each other as an inside joke but they are respectful when watching it with their mom because it is her favourite movie series.

- The Twins have very good hygiene routines due to being raised by their single mom.

- this does not translate to eating politely though.

- they do both have very good skin care routines though since their mom helped them sort it out

- Osamu is more lax about it because he doesn’t really care.

- Atsumu is weirdly good at “girl talk” because their mom started dating again once they were in high school, but she didn’t like keeping it hidden so she would come back from dates and just gossip about it with the boys. Osamu just listens quietly, but Atsumu loves ragging on the men if they don’t meet their standards lol

- I don’t think Atsumu would ever be in the closet really. This is based off of him not caring if people like him, but I think once he figured out his family would care he just wouldn’t feel the need to hide it. He would get in fights because of it and he had terrible survival instincts with it all, but he isn’t one to hide who he is (even in situations where it might be safer to do so).

- I don’t remember who said this but it is canon to me, Atsumu is hard of hearing. I hadn’t even considered it until I saw someone post about it and I can’t remember who it is OP I am so sorry, you changed my life and I don’t even know your name!!

- but hard of hearing Atsumu makes so much sense to me. Him being “too loud”, him being so attached to Osamu (probably due to having trouble communicating people when he was younger and feeling like Osamu was the only one who was on his side)

- this is just a reminder to me that I should draw him with hearing aids

When did you start writing?

I honestly couldn’t say when my very first act of creative writing was, I feel like I’ve been writing on and off my whole life (barring like 5 years from 16-21). When I was 8 or 9 is the first I really remember though. I kept a diary religiously at that time (yes, it’s hilarious), and also attempted several stories that went nowhere, including a glorious portal fantasy about two children who are isekai’d into a kingdom of cats and have to face off against an evil cat stealing wizard. As you can tell, I love cats, lmao. And I have always loved portal fantasies and isekai. A through-line all the way to Planar Tears!

Are there different themes or genres you enjoy reading than what you write?

Oooh. Well, there are very few genres I *wouldn’t* read, and I’ve only written so much, so I suppose most genres currently sit in this pile for me? I can’t really see myself writing original sci-fi, despite loving it as a genre, because I think it really lives or dies on having an excellent concept more than a lot of other forms of fiction. Short of being struck with a lightning bolt of inspiration, I think I’d lack purpose. But I love, love, love science fiction. Isaac Asimov, Philip K Dick, N.K. Jemisin, Octavia Butler, John Wyndham, Marge Piercy, Ted Chiang… all of these SF authors’ stories have a place in my heart.

Is there a writer you want to emulate or get compared to often?

No-one has yet compared me to anyone. I often realise that I’m going a little too Austen in my work, and gently push myself to modernise - but I guess that speaks to the fact that whilst I admire her, I don’t want to exactly emulate her? I love the way she gently teases her characters, the way she makes clear the contrast between what they believe and what’s actually true without being cruel. But I don’t want to write a pastiche.

On the other end of the spectrum, I recently re-read My Year of Rest and Relaxation and was reminded of how much I love Otessa Moshfegh’s cold, somewhat brutal cataloguing of the world around her character; her sparse but vivid imagery (casting aside a pair of shoes like “dead crows”) and her unlikeable but extremely readable MC. I should read more of her work!

Basically, I love to read and have a wide spectrum of influences, but I’m not aiming to emulate any single one of them. I would say my writing swings between archaic and more efficient depending on whether I’ve read classic or modern literature most recently, because I love both.

Can you tell me a bit about your writing space?

I have many. On my phone anywhere - especially the commute - and at home on a laptop, either sat at our dining table (we live in a rental flat in an expensive city, a proper desk would be a luxury), or on the sofa with my girlfriend and flatmate sometimes contributing "suggestions" lol. If I'm in a writing phase, which I have been for a year - every space is a writing space.

What's your most effective way to muster up a muse?

Hmmm. I am rarely in a completely creatively fallow period - unless I'm just straight up obsessed with a game/TV show/the gym, in which case I'm busy having a good time in other ways - but I'm not always in the writing zone. I like textile crafts and sewing, and art hobbies generally. I guess that is to say, if the writing muse is not present, I rarely miss it; I'm probably thinking about something else.

(Barring the times when my mental health is fucked, but even then, I'm probably throwing myself really hard into a hobby as a distraction. I'm an all or nothing person). When I'm struggling with writer's block on say, a chapter of a long fic, it's usually because it's not quite headed in the right direction, and I need to backtrack, take stock of where my characters are emotionally, and try again in a different direction. Honestly... I know it's advised against by some, but sometimes I just have to sit down and make myself write just to figure out what's wrong. Just do it, and rip it up later if you have to. (**put it in a separate doc in case you can use it elsewhere. you probably wrote it for a reason. DO NOT TILT OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH AND DELETE YOUR SHIT, NO MATTER HOW FRUSTRATING).

Are there any recurring themes in your writing? Do they surprise you?

Number one is “coming to terms with making mistakes in your vocation, and recognising that you are more than your talent at it.” It’s the reason that draws me to Rolan in the first place, because it mirrors my own life experiences very closely. I was somewhat picked on and harassed in school (shit that many of us have experienced) and built my whole personality around being smart and having my life planned out as a shield against it. I was going to do [thing], I was really good at it, and it was all clear. Not to mention I loved this subject. So when I got into a prestigious university my life was sorted, right? Except... all of the hideous self-esteem issues and perfectionism I'd been papering over came crashing down all at once, and I was in an incredibly unforgiving environment, in a very male-dominated subject where other (male) students would literally be like huh, isn't it weird more women don't study this subject? Why do YOU think that is? I felt like I was worthless, stupid and useless, and that I stuck out like a sore thumb - and I was carrying the weight of every woman who wanted to do my subject and was afraid they weren't good enough. My life plans crumbled before my eyes, and I was severely depressed, alongside other health issues - which my uni did not give two fucks about, at all.

Which is to say, I draw many parallels between my own arc and Rolan's - being an outsider, the precarity of having your own talent validated only to have your entire future rest on it, and being vulnerable to really shitty messaging about how hard I should be working and how it was obviously my fault if I wasn't succeeding already, when they were one of the best universities around. And then I realised I was writing similar experiences with Catrin and SW Tav - discovering, and appreciating, that you're more than this one crutch you cling to, this singular skill that you desperately need to hold you above the maelstrom of life. And I promise that, like Rolan, this has a happy ending - I personally took some years out after battling through undergrad, faced my demons, and returned to the subject that I loved as a far more well-rounded person, better equipped to deal with failure. I'm not perfect, and I never will be. I'm neurotic and perfectionistic and all the rest. And that's probably why I keep writing, and exploring this theme - to remind myself that I want to avoid that trap, and to deal with the ways I feel when I'm in it. I was gonna write about kink here too, but I think this is enough, lol.

What is your reason for writing?

Joy. I love exercising my creative drive. And I love re-reading what I've written!

Obsession. These fuckers, these plot points, occupy every spare inch of brain and will not stop until I vent them.

Learning. Honing my skills is a frustration and a pleasure.

Connection. I'm so, so grateful to have people who read and care about my work. It means the world.

Horny. Um. Yeah. I have no further explanation for this one lmao. Except. Fantasies are amazing, but then writing them down makes them even better because now you're really thinking about the specifics and those specifics come to mind more easily next time you're [REDACTED. CABBAGE STOP. ENOUGH!!!]

Is there any specific comment or type of comment you find particularly motivating?

I can’t pick just one! A balanced diet of comments is the best ;)

I joke but - I love them all. Shouting about the plot? You're invested, and I'm grateful. "Additional kudos" twenty chapters in? You've stuck with me this far, and I'm grateful. I guess if I had to pick a few:

1. Strong emotional responses. Kicking my feet/biting my keyboard/stressed/blushing/screaming - whatever fits the mood of the scene. I’m so happy my writing evoked strong feelings. That’s a good chunk of the point, right?

2. Writing analysis. Picking out individual lines or highlighting certain aspects - characterisation, dramatic tension, etc. The day someone said that I "had a knack for showing character in a single action" and then provided examples, I nearly exploded. Augh. I particularly love comments on my OCs because they're especially precious to me. My own brain children, and you LIKE them? heaven for reader. heaven for reader for 1000 years.

3. “I should be sleeping but instead I read this” AND I AM KISSING YOU. That’s all.

4. Just straight up compliments. "I love this" thank you I'm crying. ahhhhhhh. Cute lil kudos graphics (you know who you are). I'm over the moon you enjoy my work. <3

How do you want to be thought about by your readers?

Well, I know for certain that a large swathe of my readers perceive me as “the one who writes good subby Rolan porn” and frankly? I love that reputation. If nobody appreciated the SFW elements of my work, I might feel differently, because thoughtful storytelling is also really important to me - but I feel seen in that regard too, so I can delight in knowing my writing has a distinctive flavour. Kinky chilli ice cream, spicy and sweet.

I would also love to hope my readers think of me fondly when they get the next long fic email, and are excited to continue the story. Oh, and I hope my readers enjoy chatting in my comment section, because I do. All I can aim for is to be the friendly author who "rites gud". Fingers crossed I meet that bar :)

What do you feel is your greatest strength as a writer?

You know what? I might not have said this once upon a time, but I actually think I’m pretty decent at plotting. I think I wind various threads together quite well, and with purpose.

I think I’m pretty good at observing character too. I hope. I’ve written so much Rolan that he’s really taken on a life of his own, but I do often rewatch his cutscenes (I know, such a chore 😉) and think I have a good sense for him. I also think that although Catrin started out difficult to write, I developed a very distinct character for her too, which I’m glad about.

When you write, are you influenced by what others might enjoy reading, or do you write purely for yourself, or a mix of both?

90% of what I’m writing is for me. I want it to be the best it can be, for me; I want it to cover the themes I care about. I want to tell the story in my head. Before BG3, I wrote for a teeny tiny fandom, inaugurating its fandom tag, and that inoculated me a little against writing for stats because well, thirty kudos felt like an INCREDIBLE achievement in that fandom.

Also, I want to write my kinky filth and not dilute it. That means actively CHOOSING not to worry about whether people are put off, because they absolutely, certainly will be in cases.

However, I do also care about my readers; I love comments and I want to give them the best story I can. I really enjoy my NSFW prompts; since my tumblr connections know the baseline of what I’m into, they can throw out AMAZING ideas that I love writing and am deeply grateful for. I’ve also definitely pushed harder on fics and oneshots because I knew a particular commenter or mutual was super excited for them ❤️ (shout out to my piss kink cheerleader lol, and everyone who has kindly - or ferally - expressed interest in my longfics).

How do you feel about your own writing?

Mostly very good! I do struggle with writer’s block sometimes, but my particular combination of perfectionism and obstinacy means I don’t tend to publish my work until I’m happy with it. I can see imperfections in my work, especially my past work, but I do genuinely enjoy the process of learning even if it frustrates me sometimes. I really enjoy re-reading what I’ve written later, because by the time it gets out there into the world, I’ve always beaten it into something I’m proud of.

I can't deny that I do, occasionally, get bitten by the little green monster though. Seeing someone else's Rolan writing get called "the best" or whatever has me nursing a tiny stab of pain. And I know it's valid - I'm not *the* best writer of all time, I'm just writing my reasonably-good stories out here, but I can't deny that small oof. (I'm tipsy so you're getting rather honest Cabbage tonight). I'm also very aware that I get many wonderful comments and treasure them, so I just accept my limitations a bit and try not to think too much about other peoples' writing that is along similar lines to my own. You're all writing beautiful stuff and I support you, but I will go NUTS if I spend my life reading closely-related fic. (If I have read your fic, know I fought my inner demons to do it, lol). Idk. I write what I want to write, as well as I can, and I'm grateful that people want to read it. Seriously. You have no idea how much every bookmark and subscription and lovely comment mean to me <3 And all I can do is my best to master this lovely art form and carve out from the marble an approximation of what I see in my head.

I've been in so much pain and so miserable all day (sore throat that won't respond to painkillers and isn't strep or covid), so of course I've been thinking about making my characters miserable. I decided that I really need to lean more into wounded animal type vibes for Carrion when he gets hurt. His instinct is to slink off and hide, not seek help. It's been 5 years since he had anyone to help him, and the people who helped him then (and are connected to the same people who would be helping him now) directly caused him trauma, so he does NOT trust them at all, making him even more desperate to hide any injuries or whatever. I mean, he's a barbarian, so normal physical injuries he can deal with no problem. But a delirium wound? He would hide that for as long as fucking possible, and when the party did find out, they'd have to literally fucking drag him to the chapel to get healed. (We actually had a whole conversation about how that would happen given that he weighs more than any other party member and also has the highest strength score, so it'd be hard to get him to go somewhere he didn't want to go. The paladin and warlock have Command and Suggestion, so they might literally have to force him to go there, which definitely wouldn't help his case about trust, or his relationship with the party...) As the DM put it, he is literally that person in the zombie apocalypse movie who gets bitten and hides it from everyone.

Also, when Theodore's people are in town, the chapel is where they hang out, and the ritual takes at least an hour, so like, imagine wounded Carrion, acting very feral and lashing out at anyone who gets close to him, and then Theodore walks into the chapel. Truly the worst possible day for my boy, and honestly I think it would be fucking hilarious if it went down like that.

I'm imagining Carrion, frightened, in pain, and more than a little bit out of his mind, lashing out at anyone who gets near him. And then the man who left him for dead walks in, and Carrion just LAUNCHES himself at Theodore, determined to kill him then and there. Now that would be one hell of a reunion. I wouldn't even be surprised if he forgot himself and rage-shifted in the middle of the chapel. (I say as if I'm not the one in control of his actions, lmao.)

So I've been wanting to start a writing blog myself and I have a vague idea on what I wanna write about. But I don't know how to exactly write it...

I was wondering, how does your writing process go? What do you do in longer pieces specifically?

I'm a hellfire of a writer and I find it absolutely hilarious that people want advice from me, but I'm more than honoured to give you my burnt pasta advice-

Ok first things first- give yourself like a minute to think of a big idea-

Like nothing too specific- for example not a whole sentence explaining the plot or character, rather just a few words: Ex. Evil Queen.

From there I like to jot down the words onto the document/platform I'm working on and start typing out random sentences that come to mind.

This can be both starting the story or fleshing out the character. That way, you don't have to be stuck on thinking of writing a specific topic.

Now there's one thing I like to point out in particularly how I write. I like to stick with my initial image of the character HEAVILY. I don't know if people notice this, but I keep a common theme with most of characters from when I first wrote them. [Unless if it's an AU of some sort]. Ex. personality traits, background, etc.

From there I usually end up building an outline of the plot.

Now my teachers have always said to keep your outline like a few words long, but I like keeping my bullet points detailed. So my points end up being a few sentences each, considering I'm writing the plot.

You don't need to write your outline in a grammatically correct method nor does it have to be pretty. Like my outlines are honestly like "This mf dies by accidentally tripping and tumbling down the hill like a wheel of cheese." It's easier for me to keep track of my thoughts and often times I can add a funny thing from those said sentences.

This is the part where I start to slack off compared to other writers.

I'm sure most writers actually proofread their work and ask for peer review, but I don't lmao. (Honestly, primarily because I don't write long pieces as much)

I would suggest those, but at the same time I don't do them aha...

Anyway, once you finish your outline, give a brisk run through and cut out anything you think is unneeded or unclear. Remember, writing beautiful is easy, it's the clarity that's hard. In my case I think it's very true since I sometimes use big words.

Then you actually write your draft-

USE THE THESAURUS. I don't know how many times I've needed to say that to people. I always put a lot of synonyms for my adjectives. It gives a lot of colour.

Then carefully read your paragraphs so you can cut out anything you don't need or makes it difficult to keep clear.

I do the last few changes [adding/removing, more fancy words]

And then bam-

Finished.

Given that Isaac (and Alberta) mention this later on, I imagine this is how Sam makes the "No one in our room rule" and uses Pete as a guard for it in WHC.

Pausing Here to say - I love that Isaac is CLEARLY the leader here.  This man literally tells Thor when to do his thing and THOR LISTENS.  Even though Thor is Older than Isaac.

Also, as seen in this scene - Thor struggles ALOT with his power, and Jay has no issue dismissing it when the light doesn’t appear to work well. This is part of the reason (at least for me) that it's clear Thor doesn't use his power that much. I wonder if using the power more (like Trevor/Alberta) would get him to be less impacted by it.

It’s very interesting the way they actually went in ORDER of how the powers came up.  Thor was first, then Alberta, Isaac, and finally Trevor.  Interesting.  Anyway, I know we're not there yet.

This is still so cute - Isaac is clearly in charge of this haunting even though he’s not the A) Oldest, B) the one who came up with the idea and/or C) actually in charge of these misfits. It's just 'cause he wants to be 'the captain' he was in life.

But it’s nice - even given the next second, which I’ll get to in a minute, they LISTEN to him.  I like it.  It shows A) that he’s either earned the respect or he just commands the respect of being a leader or B) that he’s so respected even without the ‘leader’ tag that they obey him.  It’s like with Hetty in Dinner Party - she’s not the oldest but she commands respect and people give it to her.

LMAO - ALBERTA, THIS IS NOT THE TIME.

I do LOVE that she emphasizes the ability she has to counter his decisions - it fits well with what I’ve seen with regards to she was probably the one to suggest that his power stinks and counters him in Episode 3.  It’s not a surprise given this scene that she doesn’t just do what he says.  

HOWEVER, did they not DISCUSS what order they were going in?  Now is NOT the time.  Although it is hilarious.  

Sorry, Alberta, Trevor’s power is really the topper - as Hetty says in the last scene. There's a reason you're second, not the finale.

Okay this is hilarious - Isaac is literally RUNNING AROUND JAY and trying to avoid getting walked through when he could’ve just ran ahead of Jay before he even walked passed Thor.

I’m cackling at Isaac’s run while Jay’s like “Huh, what’s that?”

Couple of things here - A) I LOVE the way they got around Alberta’s power as being ghostly - they had a few options, including that they could blame it on the house being older and creaking, but THIS IS BETTER - the timing works brilliantly and you can see Alberta and Pete being WTF in that gif.

But B) I love that Sam is such a dork.  She is so excited for this and it honestly pretty cute.  She continues to up the love for the mansion, despite the ghosts' best efforts.

Two ghosts down into the failed haunting with two more to go!

wow SUCH a vivid dream abt hooking up with a Nice Young Man i’d gotten to, i think, coach me thru writing a paper (lol. lmao.) but then it turned into us making out and me realizing he was stunningly delightfully subby actually???? so then i got to like. hold him down and nuzzle-nip-kiss-grope him a bunch. honestly very satisfactory.

hilarious that even in the dream i was punting on my paper—realism!!—but. whatever. it was a nice dream iykwim. :D

also for some reason i was telling him abt poems that like. lay out a problem and then resolve it but in, like, an anticlimactic way where the problem was more compelling than its resolution? except the only example i actually remember citing was that sayers sonnet from gaudy night (lay on thy whips, o love, that we upright…) which like. on waking i feel is a decidedly unfair characterization of that poem so like. disappointed in dream K’s thesis statement, lmao. however maybe they existed in a mirror world whose version of that poem WAS like that, who knows. i like to think they wouldn’t have misrepresented the one i know like that! [also apologies 4 quoting the volta(?) instead of the actual first line, it’s what comes 2 mind offhand 4 me and i didn’t do a google bc i’m just thumbtyping.]

however. can’t complain abt getting 2 dream abt queer makeouts (pretty vividly too, honestly! hazy but suggestive memory of sensations and even sounds!) AND pome analysis. like. VERY on-brand really. :D

Tell us about Louis's sex life with Lestat and Armand, I gotta know 🍿

god, Louis is the luckiest man alive (unalive?) lmfao you just KNOW he’s getting an insane amount of action any time lestat and armand are under the same roof asdfgahvf

I'm absolutely convinced the first time they were all under one roof together for more than a few days, Armand and Lestat were both immature enough to try and make each other jealous by sleeping with Louis (Armand definitely plays dirty by echoing Louis' Jumbled Orgasm Thoughts into Lestat's head— it backfires at least once because GUESS WHAT louis still thinks about lestat in bed with other people LMFAO) but eventually this pewters out when Louis catches on and tells them to just cut the bullshit and fuck each other (and they do. and Louis enjoys a quiet night reading, like he damn well deserves).

ANYWAY, the thing I love about Louis having both of them in his life is that they all read each other in such different ways, so I think it’s really great that no matter what mood he’s in, there’s someone who knows exactly what he needs. Louis has a tendency of thinking himself into a corner, and some nights he needs Armand to step in and take the wheel and mindfuck him into a state of bliss. Other nights he needs Lestat to do just the opposite and coax him into his body and remind him of what it feels like to be alive. 

They also both pick up on different things that Louis doesn't even know about himself like!!! Lestat is very well-versed and dependent on physical cues, so he picks up on the way Louis tilts his head ever so slightly to the side when he's curious about trying a New Idea, the way he rolls his ankles and flexes his heels when he wants to go harder, or the way he'll hide his face in Lestat's shoulder when he's about to come because he thinks his orgasm face is silly.

Armand, of course, has access to Louis' mind, but on the whole he's much more emotionally intelligent so he actually doesn't use much of the Mind Gift (he also is well aware of Louis' aversion to the gift). it's much easier for him to pick up on the roller coaster that is Louis "repressed-gay-ex-catholic" de Pointe du Lac, and Armand is so much more patient in terms of giving Louis the time and space to process things. Sometimes it takes a while for Louis to be able to stretch out of his comfort zone, but Armand is in it for the long game, baby.

They both also have very different tactics to getting in his pants LOL like it's actually fucking hilarious because if Lestat tries to flirt and cuddle up to Louis while he's reading, he'll get all huffy and annoyed, but when Armand comes waltzing in and casually rests a hand on his knee while he reads, Louis is putting that book down and going for the jugular in like 30 seconds flat LMAO.

Armand and Lestat also know that sometimes they’re not exactly what Louis needs in the moment, so sometimes (not every time, but sometimes) Lestat will suggest Louis visits Armand. And vice versa, every other week when Louis gets cranky, Armand locks him in a room with Lestat like “You two just need to bone.” 

cue: this exact reaction from Louis: 

When it comes to settling on an arrangement between the 3 of them actually sharing a bed together (as opposed to taking turns with Louis)...I think Armand might’ve been the one to first suggest it, but I honestly feel like Louis would’ve been the one to actually bring them both together and make it feel like it was their idea in the first place LOL. Lestat doesn’t like to share, and Armand doesn’t like feeling like the third wheel, but Louis has a way of asking for things without really outright asking for them. He so rarely makes requests of Lestat or Armand in the first place, so of course they oblige (it also gives Lestat a Very Convenient Excuse for coming to terms with the fact that he is, in fact, attracted to Armand).

I will say I think it's only on very special occasions that the 3 of them get together, but when they do, it's absolutely decadent. There are so many different dynamics between them that are just constantly in flux so it's really interesting!! Like...when Louis is with Lestat he tends to want to be more dominant, whereas he's more comfortable being submissive to Armand, but between Lestat and Armand it can be a bit of a tug-of-war in terms of who has the "power." So with the 3 of them it's just a constant changing of positions and dynamics. I've always seen it as something that leans a little bit more playful (well, as playful as sadistic/masochistic vampires can get). Like, there's an unspoken agreement to leave the baggage at the door when it's the 3 of them together.

There's a lot of pampering of Louis and he's shy and resistant at first (he HATES attention! he hates feeling like too much of a hedonist! why are you just STARING at me, Lestat, don't you have something better to do?) but listen Lestat and Armand are very persuasive ;)

(it's also not always Louis-centric!! Louis and Armand have made Lestat cry from overstimulation MULTIPLE times. Louis and Lestat team up to play good-cop/bad-cop and deliver punishment and reward with Armand.)

ANYWHO I think the whole thing is just very cathartic for all 3 of them!! Louis has two hands and he deserves the best of both worlds!!!

Riptide and Rodimus (canon friends) are having a great time discussing this while Drift sits between the poleaxed.

Roller is just rolling with it and is missing a lot of context on why the DJD is terrifying and treats them like regular mechs which endeara him to them.

Thunderclash is more stiff but has the most glowing easy carrying which makes Tarn (worst symptoms) despise him giving him and Rodimus somethingbpetty to bond over. Neither says anything around Nickel though.

Ratchet is now up to his elbows in babies and has decided the Love Boat is more stressful than most of the war.

It only gets worse when a deeply embarrassed Minimus asks him to visit Megatron's room, whose been grumpy and avoiding medical visits.

OWO Megs? Goooot a secret brewing in there?

This is when I suggest we pour more medics in here, because that's hilarious as hell and Ratchet clearly needs help (they're lucky the Lost Light is such a big ship)
