hello i love your pgr x ac au so much... i'm having brainworms about it even as i'm working on some projects so i have to let it out here GOD - are ezio, altair, and connor the only constructs? what about the other assassins? - what's up with the templars? - what weapons would those three guys use? i'm mostly imagining them with the hidden blades (obviously) with the idea that it's a little like bambi's mantis blades but they also have swords here ran out of ideas BUT if something else pops up i will probably end up dropping it into your askbox... so sorry for the dump pgr's one of my favorite games and seeing it with ac awakened something in my brain

Hahahaha, honestly, I wasn’t expecting a lot of people to enjoy it considering PGR isn’t all that well known but I’m glad to know that the story resonated with a lot of you guys.

And, to be honest, I started getting an idea for a PGR x AC crossover because I was playing PGR and all I can think of is that Desmond would have made a good commandant (he'd definitely act more like a dad to Gray Raven, that's for sure). I’m a fan of Cerberus and I can totally see him being the tired dad of the chaotic trio with Murray taking care of the politics (and relaxing) XD

But then another idea came to mind and that’s how we got Inheritance Among the Stars hahahaha

I did say there are no real plans to make a sequel at the moment but I can answer your questions with what I’ve thought about

Are there other AC characters who have turned into Constructs?

If this was a purely an AC story in the world of PGR, yes. We’ve already seen Rebecca and Clay as Constructs (+ Lucy) and I’m thinking of Evie, Jacob and Arno as another Construct team (maybe with Jayadeep as their commandant) with Evie being the Attacker, Jacob being a Tank and Arno being an Amplifier (and the leader). Another idea I have is that Kassandra being a Uniframe/Transcendant of some kind. Shay though is an Ascendant (or maybe he’s a Transcendant, it depends on what is up with the Templars XD)

What is up with Templars?

(Shrug) They’re off doing what they do best. Scheme XD

I will say this: there are Templars in the World’s Government and they are quite interested in Project Animus.

What weapons would those three guys use?

Oh yes. I definitely thought of their hidden blades to be quite similar to Bambi’s mantis blade but they only use their hidden blade when they know it would be a killing blow. Their other weapons though are:

Altaïr – sword that looks a lot like the Sword of Altaïr, Altaïr relies on speed to deal lots of damage in a short amount of time. Mechanic-wise, he’s similar to Alpha Crimson Weave as he has two styles of fighting, one has him using his sword as normal and the other has him using his sword while sheathed.

Ezio – a crossbow that shoots off paralyzing shots and a hidden gun that he would use for emergency. He can summon funnels ala Wanshi Lucid Dreamer that shoots where he aims or can create barriers as long as they’re grouped together.

Ratonhnhaké:ton – a tomahawk that would always return to him if he wills it. Unlike the other two, the closest to my idea of his Construct body is Lamia Lost Lullaby. His usual form is similar to how he usually looks but he has another form where he takes on different forms depending on what color the orb he pinged last (doesn’t have to be 3 orbs pinged) before transforming. Red is his eagle form which he can fly for a brief short of time (like Loki), blue is his wolf form (his attacks would be similar to 21 Feral), and yellow is his bear form (I’m kinda thinking his moveset is similar to Karerina Scire)

Pawpaw: How do you name your characters?

Hm. Vibes? Generally speaking I use Behind the Name and its filters. Sometimes I go elsewhere or look up specific ethnic names. I sometimes go for meaning.

But sometimes, here is my process:

The Secret Portal

Lexi was dubbed "Alexia" in my fourth grade (age 10) creative writing project. I remember I went through an extremely elaborate process to naming her until I fell on that name. Unfortunately I don't remember how I did. In Draft Three (age 13) I tried out the nickname Lexi used by her sister and occasionally her friends, but in Draft Four I just called her Lexi and I preferred that for her (though her name is still Alexia).

Ash was originally named Aurora, but when starting Draft Four I had another OC in the project that later became SOTL named Aurora (she doesn't really exist anymore lol) and to avoid this I picked the first "A" name I thought of: Ashley. But I tried out Ash and realized I preferred it, so kept it consistent.

Gwen was the first G name I thought of, named because the friend she was originally based on wanted her name to start with that. Noelle came out of an inside joke. Rose was on a whim.

Maddie was Maddie because my sister chose the name. She also chose Kelsey. The names stuck, and I really like them.

Robbie I called Robert for a long time, choosing the name for an embarrassing reason (14 yo me was obsessed with Tony Stark) but the nickname fits him much better!!

Akash was chosen because I wanted less English names and selected Indian/Hindi on some baby name site. Obviously being an A name it was close to the top, but it meant "sky" and I laughed because I'd made him a flyer and I liked the name so kept it.

Carla was originally Carly and I don't remember how I picked the name or why I changed it. George was named after my grandfather. Why did I choose it for a young guy idk.

Ewan, Jazlyn, Wade, Parker, Tyler, and Sam were all chosen on a whim and I liked them so they stayed. Liam was originally named Seamus and I didn't like the name for him so I just looked up popular names in Canada and picked the one I liked. Niri was Stephen but I changed it for a similar reason: it wasn't working. Both characters have improved since I changed their name to something I was comfortable with.

Same is true for Hye-Jin and Gabriel, but the main reason I changed their names was they were Lucy and Luis - and with Liam and Lexi I hope you can understand why I didn't want so many four letters, two syllable L-names.

Jedi I picked because I found it on a baby name site. Carmen was on a whim.

Most other names were like that for TSP so I'll stop now. Basically the gist is most of them I picked on a whim, but then I changed the ones I didn't want by usually going to Behind the Name and filtering by ethnicity and looking for something I like.

School of the Legends

Much simpler to describe/harder to choose:

1) pick the name that they are in the fairy tale. Example: Jack (all Jacks)

2) pick a name that means the same as the name in the fairy tale but in another language. Example: Bai Xue (Snow White)

3) choose an ethnicity and look at all the meanings and pick one that's close to the character they represent. Example: Saira (Red Riding Hood, means "traveler")

4) pick a name with a good meaning tied to the character they represent. Example: Azraq (Little Boy Blue, means "blue")

Sugar Maple: What's the sweetest part of your story?

Any moment where it's 2+ characters (usually 2) doing something really sweet for the other (e.g., Kelsey giving Maddie an amigurumi tiger for no reason) or comforting the other (e.g., Gwen giving Akash a hug and a kiss on the forehead when he's crying).

TSP is made up of nothing but corny comedy, angst, and soft ass moments. It's honestly hard to pick a favorite, which is kind of lame lol. But these silly kids loving each other just gives me a lot of joy!

I'm curious about a bunch of these so I'll just ask the bunch together:

Whose ur favorite bachelorette(s), non romanceable chara, monster, non-mc otp and a headcanon you have?

Oh boy this is gonna be a doozy of an answer lol

Fav bachelorette — I’m super gay for (most of) the guys, so honestly none of the bachelorettes appealed to me as marriage candidates. That said, I really identify with Lucy’s whole arc and feeling disproportionately responsible for my loved ones. I especially like when these characters actually get a chance to take care of themselves. Sure, I don’t exactly like the way RF5 goes about it (the forced truth mirror was kind of heavy handed and took away her agency…), but everything else was nice. My runner ups are Beatrice and Scarlett. Bea is just a sweetheart, I have nothing bad to say about her. As for Scarlett, well, I got attached to her because she became such an important supporting character in my fic. I didn’t intend for her to be the closest thing Ari has to a best friend, but she surprised me.

Fav non-romanceable character — Heinz, hands down. That goofball has a terrible first impression in-game and he’s really done dirty by only being characterized by his ineptitude and lazy attitude, but man, I’ve gotten so attached to him because of his role in my fic. I was really able to develop his backstory and personality into exactly what I wanted since there was so much room for reinterpretation. Before I started this fic, though, I probably would have said Terry or Misasagi. Both of them have good heads on their shoulders, and I like the mysteries they represent.

Fav monster — Chipsqueek! Those little red squirrels are the cutest dang thing on the planet. They’re kind of useless as a battle companion, but I like bringing them around with me just because anyway. Also, in every RF game I’ve played (Frontier, rf5, and currently rf3 special), I’ve named the first one I’ve caught Poppy.

Non-MC otp — I’m a multishipper, so I won’t say there’s only one way I like characters to be shipped. That said, I’m particularly fond of Cecil/Fuuka (thank you Aashi for selling me on them!) and Martin/Ryker. For other pairings, I think Lucy/Priscilla is cute, but I’d be really interested to see Priscilla/Reinhard (Priscilla gets to live out her princess dreams) and Lucy/Murakumo (competitive bleeding heart plus the expert judge of games). Outside my fic, I also love Lucas/Terry (courtesy of @kardia-library-official for introducing me to the idea).

A headcanon — oof I have so many at this point, it’s hard for me to remember what’s actually canon and what’s stuff I’ve dumped into all of its plot holes. I think a big one for worldbuilding is that I named the town that’s near Rigbarth (the one that Ryker goes to when he steals that crown). It’s called Fenarva, which is sort of a portmanteau based on the names of all of the other villages/towns of Norad. I imagine Fenarva is closer in size to a city, and it has ports for regular ships and airships. They get travelers from the mainland, Isle of Elves (this also needs a name), the Eastern Continent (gods please Marvelous give us an actual name for this country when Project Dragon is released), and Fenith Island. Most of the tourists who visit Rigbarth come from Fenarva, too, since it’s only about half a day’s trip to get from one town to the other (well, travel takes longer now because of the recent increase in monster attacks…). Rigbarth’s economy really relies on these folks and the people from the other side of the Gadeus Grasslands too (still need to put another town over there too). Also, for everybody else writing fics based on RF5, y’all are free to use Fenarva, too.

I have other, more interesting headcanons especially about gods in general and what sort of god Lucas is, but a lot of it gets into spoiler territory. Unfortunately for all of us, however, I have yet to figure out how to work in these things into my fic. It’ll come up eventually, somehow, but probably not until late Act II or somewhere in Act III. I hope y’all can bear with me until then.

Ooh, an ask game! How about 3, 4, 11, 12 for (not) a laughing matter (which, even after all the canon we've had since, remains one of my absolute favorite fics for these two--it's hilarious, but still feels true to these two)?

3: What’s your favorite line of narration? It's been a long time since I reread this! This was my first ever Kacy fic, and I was most interested in the two versions of Whistler and how those would look to Tennant, so these three lines popped for me:

"Good to know not even DIA Officer Kate Whistler, with her rigid ponytail and pressed skirt and that enormous stick up her ass, is immune to how fucking cute Lucy is right now." I like this one cause y'all know I love the comedic rule of three's.

"This person, the one bending over Lucy, wearing Whistler’s clothes and Whistler’s face, is certainly not DIA Officer Whistler, resident mean girl with a rampant ambitious streak who probably jacks off to the idea of red tape. No, this is someone else entirely. And Jane has a sneaking suspicion Lucy has met her before." I like the juxtaposition here of the hard thoughts Tennant usually has about Whistler (mean girl, ambitious, red tape) with the softness Tennant's being confronted with--the way we can see her very thoughts changing as the evidence in front of her changes. Also "jacks off to the idea of red tape" just makes me laugh.

"Kate dons Whistler in the few steps across the room to the door. She turns back, almost chagrined, her Whistler mask still askew." I dunno I just think this one is neat.

4: What’s your favorite line of dialogue? Here's two: "Jane expects that to be that, but Lucy rolls her eyes. 'Special Agent Tara,' she scoffs, like her name is a hilarious joke. 'Well I hope YOU have a quick recovery, Special Agent Whistler.'" I can HEAR high Lucy saying this, I can picture it perfectly, and that's what I always go for. Especially because this was my first time writing her, I think this line is super successful.

“'And she thought I was very small and cute and I thought she was so tall and beautiful that I attacked her face!' she beams at all of them. 'With my face!'” This one makes me laugh, and that was the whole point. Also, I stand by the fact that this is in character.

11: What do you like best about this fic? Honestly, it was my first Kacy fic and I like that it helped me get into the characters, to start to get a sense of their voices and the ways they move through space together. I'm happy with my decision to write it from someone else's POV so I could ease into Kacy's dynamic without having to be in one of their heads. I also think it's pretty funny.

12: What do you like least about this fic? I wish Ernie were there! It was too many characters to manage for my first. Also there's one sentence I'd rearrange.

This idea for a oneshot just popped into my head along with a few others, so I decided to write it.

I love GaLu. I really like GaLe, of course, but I am still a major Lucy shipper. There is just something about GaLu that I can't resist. It is no secret that I love the Bad Boy x Good Girl trope. The Demon x Angel trope. Call it what you will, I love Opposites Attract. I just can't get enough of it, especially if Lucy is involved. I ship her with nearly everyone, and Gajeel is very, very high on the list of characters that I ship her with.

Please, Forgive Me (Gajeel x Lucy)

Gajeel stared at the beautiful blonde that captured his heart from his spot in the shadows at the other end of the guild. He watched as she sipped happily on her favorite flavored milkshake. He rested his chin in his palm, propping his elbow on the wooden surface of the table he sat at. He watched as she smiled and laughed while talking to Mira. His keen dragon slayer hearing picked up on the sound easily. 

How he loved her laugh. It was like a lullaby that he could happily fall asleep to. He loved her voice just as much. It was like a song he would never get tired of. 

He was in love with Lucy. He had been in love with her since the Fantasia Incident, when he began to actually care about Fairy Tail. He loved everything about her. He loved her blonde hair that shined, as though it was weaved out of the sun's very own rays. He loved her brown, sparkling eyes that he longed to stare into and get lost in. He loved her curvaceous body that his fingers would often twitch to explore, only for him to drown himself in alcohol in an effort to forget about his non-existent chance with her. He loved the way she would stare off into space when thinking about her novel. He loved how she could go on and on about topics of interest, especially if that topic is her celestial spirits or the stars. He loved her witty and quick mind. he loved how she could easily keep up with Levy in games that challenged the brain and with Freed in intellectual debates. He loved how kind and forgiving she was. He was honestly amazed by how easily she forgave the Thunder Legion and befriended them. There was no doubt in Gajeel's mind that if Laxus returns to the guild, then Lucy would be the first to accept him back. There was nothing about her that Gajeel didn't love. She was smart, beautiful, kind, brave, strong, and cute like a bunny. She was everything that he dreamed of. 

There was only one thing that stopped him from asking her out.

He highly doubted that she forgives him for what he had done to her. He hadn't even apologized to her because he didn't think that she would forgive him, not completely. He didn't even think that he deserved her forgiveness. He couldn't even forgive himself. He knew that she was easily able to forgive the Thunder Legion for what they did to their guildmates, and she was able to forgive Juvia for her role in trying to return her to her father. However, what they all did wasn't that bad compared to what he did to her. At least, their actions weren't as bad as his, in his opinion. 

Gajeel sighed. How could someone as beautiful and, honestly, perfect as Lucy ever be his friend, much less love him the way that he loves her? It was a hopeless dream. He turned his red gaze to the mug of alcohol that sat before him. He didn't even feel worthy of looking at her. 

He glared at the drink that he hadn't even taken a single sip of. He was constantly told by Mira, Levy, and Juvia that he should talk to her. He knew that, logically speaking, if he talked to her, or even apologize, then he might be able to have at least a friendship with her, but how was he supposed to expect her to forgive him when he can't even forgive himself? Several times he had tried to talk to her, but he would always bail before he could even get her attention. He knew what he had to do, but his nerves and guilt would always get the better of him.

Gajeel's eyes almost instinctually caught the melodic sound of Lucy's laughter. He dared to look over at her again, only for a feeling of jealousy to flare as he watched that flaming bastard Nastsu saddle up next to her and sling an arm around her shoulders. The Iron Dragon Slayer suppressed a growl. He hated how close Natsu was with Lucy. He hated how that Fire Dragon Slayer could so easily talk to the celestial wizard while he could even stand next to her without feeling like she was glaring at him. 

Gajeel downed his alcohol, setting it down with a rather loud 'slam.' He then stood up and stormed out of the guildhall, not caring about the possibility of any of his guildmates noticing his abrupt and a bit loud exit. He began his walk towards his house, knowing that Lily would come home later. As he walked, he fought the urge to go back and confess his feelings to Lucy. He pushed down his wants. 

He wanted to call her 'Bunny Girl' and watch her get annoyed at the stupid nickname. He wanted to make her be his bunny dancer for his songs again. He wanted to wrap his arms around her and hold her close to his body, enjoying her warmth and relishing in her intoxicating scent of vanilla and strawberries. He wanted to tell her how much he loved her. He wanted to ask for her forgiveness, beg even, if he had to. He wanted to make her his Bunny Girl and never let her go or doubt his love for her. He couldn't get past his own actions those several months ago. He couldn't forgive himself. He couldn't talk to her at all without feeling unworthy of her or ashamed of what he did. 

Gajeel stopped walking and looked up at the night sky. Though he had never been interested in the stars, he recently found himself enjoying stargazing because the stars reminded him of Lucy. They were a lot like her. They were beautiful and bright, just like her. They often lite the way for lost travelers, like how Lucy is Fairy Tail's light. The stars are also so far out of reach and unattainable, just like Lucy. 

He felt a tear slide down his cheek, quickly brushing it away. He didn't care that nobody was there, he didn't want anybody to see him cry. He gazed at the sparkling lights that dotted the vast night sky. His chest began to ache, a feeling that he was familiar with. It would happen every time he lamented about his hopeless love for the only blonde that he had beaten and almost killed. He didn't even pay any attention to the aching in his chest. It was so frequent that he wasn't bothered by it anymore. It was something that simply happened. 

The former dark mage whispered, almost like a prayer to whatever deity there was, or to Lucy herself, "please, forgive me." 

He then continued on his walk back home, fully knowing that he would stay up all night beating himself up for letting Lucy slip through his fingers so easily and pining for the celestial wizard that dreamed of. 

Honestly, why would she love him? He was a terrible person. He didn't deserve her forgiveness, not after what he had done to her.

R - Rainbow - What colors do you associate with them and why?

Mostly earthy tones because that's his color palette. Shades of brown, sand color, black, and the hellfire orange of his eyes.

A - Art - Do they draw or paint? What about any other kind of art? What's their favorite style/subject/another artist who inspires them?

He's not really interested in art but he does sometimes take a moment to look at the natural beauty of the desert when he's got the time. And when nobody who's gonna try and call him a sissy for looking at flowers or the sunset is around.

T - Teach - What skills of theirs would they teach you? What would you teach them?

First thing that comes to mind is marksmanship but honestly I know I'd be too spooked to learn. But hey, maybe he could give me encouragement and all that and I wouldn't be so freaked out. I don't know if I have anything to teach him, unless infodumping about cool animal facts counts

L - Language - What's their love language? What's yours?

I haven't really thought about what my love language is. I mean, I know I really like cuddling and get clingy when I feel lovey. Maybe also just going "hey I saw this and it made me think of you". Jake I think is definitely a cuddler too when it comes to loved ones and he's very much a pet-names and sweet lil words kind of guy I think. Also the type to threaten the hell out of anyone who crosses me.

E - Emotion - Is your f/o open with their feelings or do they keep them close to their chest?

Jake is definitely not open with his feelings. He's got a reputation to uphold and can't have folks thinking he's soft. Usually the most emotion I'll get out of him is when he's alone with me (that's prime snuggle bug time) or if something spooks him (ie; a hawk).

S - Story - If you and them were in a fairytale, which story would you be and who would play which character?

So when it comes to fairytale connection with Jake I always think of the Princess and the Frog. Kiss a rattlesnake and he turns into a dashing outlaw. Or kiss a rattlesnake and turn into a desert critter also, if we're going on the Disney version. My Rango s/i is a jackalope but if I were to literally translate myself into the universe I'd be a horned lizard I think. Same species as Waffles who is like. My favorite posse character. Priscilla's my other favorite secondary character (and we would have totally adopted her if I weren't like 100% positive Rango and Beans already have custody of her after the credits roll). Anyway I forsee Jake as a handsome outlaw who gets cursed into the form of a rattlesnake and in trying to break the curse with a kiss, I get turned into a horned lizard and then we both have to figure out how to undo the curse.

N - Nostalgia - What's your f/o's favorite memory?

Running with his old gang from his younger days. Six-Prong Lucy the jackalope, Quillface the bobcat, Pancho the scorpion, and Red Felicity the vampire bat.

In his snake form, I kiss him on the snout or forehead. In naga form I like to kiss him on the cheek. In either form he can give me snake kisses, which is just flicking his tongue against my cheek or nose. They tickle a little 🤗

J - Jewelry - Do they wear any? What kind? (Or what would they wear if they ever started?)

Idk if bandoliers count or the rattle-gun prosthetic he wears. In naga form I could see him wearing one of those rattlesnake-shaped leather and brass belts I've seen on Etsy. Not that he needs one because nagas don't have legs so they can't wear pants, but that would make it purely ornamental as in jewelry. There's also what looks to be a ring of barbed wire on his hat.

N - I'm gonna be sweet and say the first time we watched a horror movie together. I was hyped because it was one of my favorites and he was just admiring the smile I get when I'm enjoying something I love.

O - Online - What is your f/o's social media presence like, or what would it be like if they had internet in their world/era?

Honestly? He's the jerk who'll smugly correct your grammar while you argue with him and act like he's won because you misspelled a word or used the wrong "your".

S - I'm actually not sure about this one. Maybe like an evil Cinderella, since his story with my s/i Carmilla is kind of a rags-to-riches story in the manner of being taken from mundane daily life to the fantastical life of a supervillain.

Favorite colour: Christmas colours! I have never been able to limit myself to just one colour, but I always find myself gravitating to jewel tones. Rich, deep dark green; like a forest, emerald, or as one pencil crayon called it, peacock green, the colour of the May birthstone. Rich ruby reds which border on burgundy or fresh blood. Then that jewel tone Blue teal which is so common to find. A dark purple that matches, and the a bright cheerful yellow like daffodils, a real golden hue.

Currently reading: Anne's House of Dreams, which I'm almost through, though I think it's actually one of my favourites of the series. Soon I'll be onto Anne of Ingleside and plan on finishing the series. Anne of the Island might be my absolute favorite of the series currently.

Last song: Technically a worship song I have on my iPod, but for the life of me I can't recall, even though it was on the ride home I listened to it. Last song I remember listening to that I can actually recall the name of; Jane by the Barenaked Ladies.

Last series: Murdoch Mysteries, Canadian and acronistically historical in the funnest ways sometimes. Favourite episode was definitely when they had Lucy Maud Montgomery show up as a character and they put a disclaimer at the end of the show saying George Crabtree is a fictional character and did not inspire Anne of Green Gables. (There might be a slight theme here. Canadian content and historical.)

Last movie: A Hallmark Christmas movie called; A Timeless Christmas. There be time travel there. Also, watched it last year and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Sweet, savory, or spicy: Sweet or Savoury, depending on my mood. Not much of a spicy person. Though I am a picky person. Not much of a pie or cake person. Give my brownies, give me cookies, just not most cakes or pies. (Unless it's cheese cake or ice cream cake, then yes please.) {But now I've got a bit of the poem of Alligator Pie stuck in my head }

Currently working on: Too many things. Making slow progress on Tales Of A Frozen Sailor, and other writing projects. Free-standing lace bunting letters that are going to spell out Christmas Corner for work. Dreaming about some of the dresses and skirts I want to make and embroider on as well as wanting to add embroidery onto my Jean jacket that's starting to look a bit worn.

Honestly this has been my first time participating in a tagged game. Slowly I'm trying to get out of my comfort zone.

Chapter Four

Everyone had a lot of pent up energy on the trip. Cordelia and Lucie had been laughing and joking for the past hour while Matthew had fallen asleep almost immediately after we left. James was talking to Christopher about something while playing with Matthew’s fingers. Christopher was enthusiastic as ever.

   Thomas sat beside Alastair who was plucking at the black guitar resting in his lap. “You want to play something?” Thomas asked him kindly. Thomas loved hearing Alastair play, it put him in a calm place.

   Alastair chuckled and shrugged. “Sure, do you want to sing?” Thomas blushed and looked down laughing awkwardly. “Um, I don’t really sing. Not often anyway.” Alastair’s eyes lit up, “Oh well then you must Thomas. I do not think I’ve ever actually heard you sing.” Matthew made a noise of confirmation from across the room.

   “That would be accurate. Thomas doesn’t sing in front of people. We only ever hear it when he’s showing up a new song.” Thomas blushed at the attention. He really didn’t want to sing but he knew that if Alastair asked him again he wouldn’t be able to say no.

   “Alright, Lightwood now I really want to hear you sing.” Alastair said smiling challengingly at him. Thomas scoffed. “Okay fine. What are you going to play?” Alastair smiled brightly and looked away for a moment to think. “You choose I know the guitar part to most of your songs.” Alastair turned away blushing as he said it but Thomas found it endearing. “Okay, what about,” Thomas trailed off thinking.

   “What about In My Blood?” Thomas asked shyly. He had written In My Blood during the period of time when he was questioning his sexuality. He had been having a really hard time and on top of that when he realized he liked boys he had been fed up with the world. His sister had been there for him. She had reminded him that it was okay and it would be okay and that his family would always be there for him. He had written the song when he realized that his family was strong, they had overcome so many obstacles, and he was part of that family so he had it in his blood to be strong.

   Alastair smiled and started playing the beginning chords as Thomas sat back and closed his eyes before clearing his throat and singing.

   Thomas doesn’t open his eyes until Alastair plays the last chord. When he does everyone’s watching him. Thomas gulps and laughs nervously. “Sorry I know that wasn’t very good. I really should stick to songwriting.” They continued to stare at him and he felt heat rushing towards his face. 

   Thomas clears his throat and Lucie snaps out of her stupor first. “Darling that was amazing.” She said quietly, still staring with wide eyes. Cordelia who’s sitting next to her nods emphatically. “I didn’t know you could sing like that.” Cordelia says blinking quickly as if to clear her thoughts. Matthew nods and has a proud look on his face.

   “If he wasn’t so shy I honestly probably would be guitarist and he’d be the singer.” Thomas scoffs, “As if Matthew.” Matthew rolls his eyes and James shakes his head. James always asks him to sing but he always refuses so he was sure that it was suspicious that he had done it without much prompting for Alastair. James winks at Thomas and Thomas glares. Damn now James knew too. 

   Thomas wouldn’t be shocked if Matthew had already told James about him like Alastair, Matthew told James everything. It was common knowledge that if you tell Matthew something it was the same thing as telling James.

   Thomas looked away from them and found himself looking at Alastair who was still sitting silently regarding Thomas with curious eyes. Thomas shifted uncomfortably. “I have to say Lightwood that wasn’t what I expected.” Alastair said quietly, his eyes not faltering as he watched Thomas. 

   Thomas chuckled and rubbed the back of his neck. “Is that a good thing or a bad thing?” Alastair smiled slowly before shaking his head and looking away. “Definitely a good thing.” Thomas smiled and watched him for a second longer before turning away. Alastair had the ability to turn Thomas into a smiling idiot by a single look but that didn’t mean Thomas would let him see it.

   Thomas turned back to Alastair with a smug smile, “You’re turn.” Alastair rolled his eyes but started strumming his guitar. Thomas recognized the song immediately. It happened to be Thomas’ favorite song Alastair had written.

    It had been about an ex, one that they all actually knew. His ex was Charles who was Matthew’s older brother. They had dated in secret and then when it came out the fans just about lost their minds. Charles was following in his mom’s footsteps and was very involved in politics so when everything came out everyone rallied behind Alastair and started hating on Charles, even though Alastair had told them not to. They weren’t friends but they weren’t enemies. 

   When Thomas had found out he had been jealous before hearing the whole story from Cordelia and how Charles had used him and messed with his head. Matthew had screamed at his brother for hours and then didn’t talk to him for six months when it happened.

   Alastair finished with a small smile. Thomas let out an inaudible sigh and just looked at Alastair as people commented on his singing and his song. 

   Thomas was well aware of the fact that Alastair was attractive. He was quite the opposite of Thomas really. Where Alastair was all sharp angles and darkness, Thomas was muscular and bright. Alastair was an icon, many people called him that, he got a lot of hate for being Persian and gay but he kept his head up and was there to support those like him. Thomas couldn’t help but admire that.

   He was still in the closet and the worst thing people say about him is that he was the worst person in the band but that never got to him because it was just their fans' way of choosing favorites and quite honestly he would’ve chosen any of his friends before himself too.

   Thomas realized with a start that he was no longer staring at Alastair’s face, but at his eyes. Thomas looked down embarrassed at having been caught. He looked back up with a soft smile he reserved for only his closest friends. “That was really good.” He said quietly. Alastair’s face lit up completely and his cheeks turned a faint red.

   Thomas cleared his throat and looked up again seeing everyone’s curious eyes on them. “Anna, how long do we have until we get there?” Anna got her phone out and checked the time. “We have about an hour and a half so if you want to take a nap, go take a nap because as soon as we get there all of you are rehearsing.”

   Matthew stands up and stretches walking in his room without work James watches him leave and after a second's hesitation (go Jamie refraining himself) goes after him. Anna takes James’ now vacant spot and Christopher sprawls out next to her, his feel in her lap. She takes out her phone and starts playing a game, resting her hands on his ankles. 

   Christopher has his eyes closed and Thomas looks at the girls. Lucie yawned and Thomas smiled at her fondly. “You know he won’t mind you using his room for a nap.” Thomas said, gesturing to Christopher who nodded his head without opening his eyes. Lucie smiled and stood up dragging Cordelia behind her. “Thank Kit.” She says stopping to pat Thomas’s cheek.

   Thomas stretches before sinking back into the couch Alastair does the same but instead of settling back against the couch, he turns and puts his legs over the side of the couch and places his head in Thomas’s lap.

   Thomas tries to hide his blush by tilting his head back and closing his eyes, a stupid smile dancing on his lips. “Are you going to sleep?” Alastair’s voice whispers and Thomas looks down at him, Alastair’s blonde hair splayed out in his lap. Thomas shakes his head and tries his hardest to control his hands, which are twitching at the thought of running his hands through Alastair’s hair.

   Thomas wondered if his hair was soft, it wasn’t the first time he had thought that but the desire to run his fingers through it grew nonetheless. 

   “What are you most excited for?” Alastair’s dark eyes were peering at Thomas through his dark lashes. Thomas scrunched his nose up causing Alastair to smile. “Honestly I don’t know. I’m excited to meet fans I guess. Much less excited to have to perform for them though.” Alastair shook his head and Thomas tried very hard not to focus on the feeling.

   “You shouldn’t be nervous. That’s one of the best feelings, all the energy, and excitement.” Thomas thought about it. They had had concerts before, they just hadn’t gone on tour. He had performed for people plenty of times and Alastair was right, the atmosphere was electric when they played. 

   Thomas felt a smile pulling at his lips at the memories of the last concert. They had been playing one of their well-known songs and Matthew had stopped singing momentarily to catch his breath but the fans kept singing. Matthew had stopped altogether and let the fans finish the song. Thomas, Matthew, James, and Christopher were all in tears at the end because there were at least two hundred fans screaming the lyrics to their song. The song Thomas wrote. It was such an overwhelming feeling that they had to sit there and talk to their fans for ten minutes so Matthew’s voice could go back to normal.

   Thomas was so immersed in the memory that he hadn’t noticed when he started running his hands through Alastair’s hair. He came to when Alastair leaned into the touch. Thomas’s hand froze and Alastair opened his previously closed eyes. 

   Thomas took a chance and resumed running his hands through Alastair’s hair. Alastair’s eyes closed again. Thomas had been right Alastair’s hair was very soft and felt like silk as Thomas’ guitar calloused hands ran through it. 

   “I guess you’re right I like the energy they have when performing.” Alastair makes a noise of agreement and shudders slightly. Thomas smiled again and put his head back against the couch again. “What are you most excited about?” Thomas asked.

   “I’m excited to meet fans too. I love when they write notes and stuff. I always keep them. It constantly amazes me that people care enough that they write letters but I like hearing all their stories and journeys. It makes all this worth it.” Thomas smiled down at him even though Alastair couldn’t see it with his eyes closed. 

   This was what Thomas loved about Alastair. He did things for other people because he cared about them deeply. He never did anything unless it made people happy. Most people saw it as something else, something selfish but Thomas didn’t understand how they could be so blind as to not see how selfless Alastair was.

   Thomas brushed a piece of hair out of Alastair’s face and let the silence settle on them like a warm blanket. 

   It wasn’t an uncomfortable silence like it was with most people. This was comfortable. Something he could do all the time if he had a chance. It wasn’t lonely or confusing, it was peaceful.

   Thomas didn’t realize he drifted off until he was awoken by someone shaking his shoulders gently. Thomas opened his eyes slowly and saw Alastair’s beaming face in front of him. “Come on Lightwood we’re here!” He said as if he was a kid at an amusement park.

   Thomas chuckled and sat up stretching his back. “I’m awake. I’m coming.” Alastair rolled his eyes and then got off the bus quickly. Thomas yawned and stood up. Cordelia was standing in front of him with pensive eyes. 

   “Thomas be careful with him.” She said, leaving the bus before he could ask her what she meant.

3. a stand-alone that you wish was part of a series

I’m having a really hard time with this because most of my favorite books either are part of series (Watership Down has a way less popular spin off, did you know?), or are self contained so I feel no need for there to be a sequel. There are a lot of unanswered questions at the end of Mexican Gothicby Silvia Moreno-Garcia, but, like, there are supposedto be? So while I want to know what happens to the characters, I don’t actually want a sequel because the narrative is done.

9. your favourite book of 2020

I actually read multiple books in 2020 that made it onto my favorites list, but I’m going to pick Daisy Jones & The Sixby Taylor Jenkins Reid. It’s basically a band interview/biopic of a fictional rock band from the seventies as told in book form, which sounds really niche but it’s really well done and moving. I’ve heard the audio book is amazing; I think they cast different people as each of the different characters giving interviews, so you actually get the full interview feel.

23. a book that is currently on your TBR

Lol, my to-read shelf on Goodreads has 71 books on it. One (out of eleven) of the books I currently have on hold from the library is All Systems Red by Martha Wells which is the first in the Murderbot series, which has been highly recommended to me. I am #188 in line on 31 copies of the e-book. It’s going to be a while.

38. your favourite series

I mean, Discworld, but if I’m trying to rec something I haven’t talked about yet, I really enjoy the October Daye series by Seannan McGuire. It’s an urban fantasy series about a half-fey private detective.

43. a book that you have read more than three times

Lol, I’ve read Watership Downover twenty times, it was my favorite book as a child. If I’m trying to talk about books I haven’t talked about already, I read Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fireabout that many times as well. I obsessively reread books as a child, so really any book that I liked got read more than three times.

55. a book with a satisfying ending

That’s… open ended. And honestly I often greatly enjoy endings where not everything is tied up neatly. Let’s go with Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones. I feel like YA books tend to have neater endings than adult. Not a bad thing.

68. your favourite piece of classic literature

But I have so many classic literature loves. Going to go a bit obscure and recommend The Kalevala, which is the national epic of Finland. I specifically have the translation by Keith Baker. Does the plot make any sense? No. Is the poetry absolutely beautiful? Yes.

69. your favourite mythological retelling

I really enjoy The Legend of Sigurd & Gudrunby (posthumously) JRR Tolkien. I love the Poetic Eddafor its language, but there’s not a consistent narrative. And The Volsung Saga has a (semi) direct narrative, but the prose is dry and the narrative is inconsistent. This book makes an internally consistent story in verse. (Incidentally this is why I prefer The Nibelungenliedto the Norse versions of the story-- it’s internally consistent).

92. a book about a redeemable villain

I… am actually having a difficult time with this, because most of my favorite villains are femme fatales that absolutely wreck shit (Milady from The Three Musketeers, arguably Kriemhild from The Nibelungneliedbut she’s a lot more sympathetic). Maybe Lucy Audley from Lady Audley’s Secret? She’s not the protagonist, and she doesn’t win or get necessarily redeemed, but my entire Victorian Literature class was on her side.

1. Which muse(s) is/are your favourite(s)?

I will always enjoy writing as: Aaron, Guzma, James, Jonathan, Kabuto, Kitten, Lucy, MacReady, Murphy, Nancy, Rei, and Silent Hill! These are muses that have had some sort of special impact on some combination of developing OOC friendships, interacting with media that I enjoy, or helping me grow as an RPer. 

2. Which muse(s) do you wish had more interactions?

Lucy, definitely. She’s my favorite OC. I’ve put a lot of work into her backstory and character development, and she’s honestly such a joy to write. She has a fairly in-depth Pokemon verse and an extremely in-depth Silent Hill verse, and I plan to make a Naruto verse for her, too. I would also like to do more Silent Hill game-based threads - I have two rn (with @lachrymosestorm​ and @tenebrosity-bulwark​), and they’re just a lot of Fun for everyone. 

And probably Mathias, because he’s one of my OCs, too, but I straight up Forgot to include him in an OOC post a while back. Sorry buddy. 

4. Name a muse you have written in the past. What was your favourite thing about this muse?

I used to write as Madam Red from Black Butler. She was just such a tragic and complex character; the story arc that revolved around her actions was definitely the best in that series, at least in my opinion.

Unpopular Opinions: Fandom Edition

Hey none of you asked but I’m here to deliver so here are some unpopular opinions for the fandoms I’m in. Spoilers, duh.

Marvel:

I don’t like Natasha. Or Steve.

Pepper Potts is a top.

As much as I love Loki, his death was nessicary in Infinity War.

Steve should have killed Bucky in Civil War. He was a threat, plain and simple.

I ship Ironstrange/Supremefamily.

Clint should have died in Infinity War.

I love Tony Stark with my whole heart. (Not an unpopular opinion but you needed to know that)

I’m not happy with the end of Endgame.

10 years in the making....for you to do Thor like that?

Not because he’s fat or because he’s dealing with trauma, that’s totally acceptable.

What’s not acceptable is them making Thor into the butt of the joke because he’s fat.

I love the Antman movies.

I’m totally not biased because I loved lost.

I think that, as much as I hate Natasha and Steve, they should have been the ones that Bruce first sees in Infinity War. I know it set up the whole “earth is closed today” sequence but it didn’t make sense and was OOC.

Like yes, I think they’re obviously being groomed to end up together. I know the show runners will make them official before the end of the series. I’m not mad about that, I just don’t really care to be honest. It’s like, too obvious.

I feel no guilt whatsoever in saying that I think that killing all of Mount Weather was what they should have done from the beginning.

Yes, even the kids. Because if you kill their leaders, the men and women will fight back. The colony would have been left with a handful of adults, and a bunch of kids if the origional plan had worked. This is doomed to fail and honestly just killing them all would be better than seeing them kill eachother for food, power, whatever. If that makes sense.

I think that Finn deserved to die.

I think that Murphey deserves the world.

Charlotte fucking killed Wells. Yes she’s young but she knows better than to kill someone. Maybe not kill her, but we all know that Clarke wouldn’t have banished her like she did Murphey. Clarke has a gender bias because Murphey didn’t do anything and she wouldn’t have punished Charlotte as hard because she’s a young girl. I rest my case

Even though what he did was bad and wrong, I don’t think Murphey should have been banished. He’s right. They were all compliant and even excited when he was being hung, but when it’s a little girl all bets are off.

Another actually popular opinion: what they’ve done to Raven’s character this season is bullshit. Her only role is Abby’s moral compass. This is the same girl who shuttled to earth in a Tin Can. She’s better than this.

The opening of season three is so weak that I actually stopped watching the show around that time (I’d been watching since the beginning of season two) because there’s just nothing there in the first like 10 minutes and I couldn’t do it.

I think that Octavia did the best that she could with what she had available and I think that’s she’s not a bad person for what she did with the fighting pits/cannabalism. And I know that if Bellamy had been in her place, he would have eventually done the same.

Many people haven’t watched it

It’s like if The Walking Dead and Zombieland had a baby....and then the baby did a line of cocaine.

It’s wild.

Watching Garnet die ruined every sliver of hope I had in humanity.

I have a special place in my heart for this show because it’s the first show that me and my mom would stay up and watch the new episodes air every Friday. It brought us closer and I can’t thank the cast and show runners enough for this.

So maybe I’m biased, but you should watch it.

Having Murphey switch from being an anti-hero to a villain back to an anti-hero and then to a regular hero, amazing. Astonishing. The peak of human existence.

Even though he’s not entirely human.

What color is Murphey today? Is he pale, discolored, grey, blue, red? We don’t know!

Roberta Warren is the Black Goddess main protagonist that we deserve.

Addison Carver is a functional Bi.

10k is tragic backstory central but other than that, his character development is pretty lacking other than him persuing love interests.

I’m so mad they cancelled the show.

I’m infinitely more mad that they named that disgrace of a show Black Summer and claimed that it was a prequel....but it didn’t follow the same cast and had they not advertised it as a prequel I would never have guessed.

Black Summer gives totally opposite vibes than Z Nation does. I get that black summer is supposed to be the worst time that the zombie apocalypse ever had, with cannibals and no food, but it feels like s completely different show.

It’s like if The Walking Dead claimed that it is a prequel/occurs during Shaun of the Dead.

Detroit: Become Human

Connor isn’t the best character.

This is an unpopular opinion post deal with it.

Markus has to be my favorite.

Honestly this game is so good and not even just graphics-wise.

It’s the same robotic sentience story we’ve been fed for years, but this time it’s from the Android’s perspective and this time all they want is to be free. That’s it.

I fucking hate North.

Hank is literally if Rick from Rick and Morty were serious.

The only correct way to play Connor is to walk the thin line between deviant and regular A.I. Without leaving out Hank. The correct thing to do is make Conner deviant at Jericho.

The only correct way to play Kara is to protect Alice with every fiber of your being. Meanwhile, get close to her. Do not get caught, even if that means dissappointing her.

The only correct way to play Markus is to lead a peaceful revolution. Also tell North to fuck off.

The border patrol guy who either gets Kara and Alice caught or knowingly lets Androids cross the border is the best character. Forget about Markus, this guy sees either “oh fuck androids are killing people, maybe we shouldn’t let this one cross the border” or “Androids just want to be free and are peacefully fighting for this. Let this one and her daughter through.” I love him.

Even though I think Conner is overrated by the fandom, I do like him.

But he’s not a pure innocent cinnamon roll either.

It depends on how you play, but he has really violent options so stop the “He wouldn’t harm a fly” attitude.

But he is cute.

The home screen for the game is revolutionary (no pun intended) and I hope future game follow suit in making the first impression of the game something cool.

Stealing clothes/money/the fence cutters is literally okay.

Also if you put Kara in white hair you can die.

If in your first actual play through you got the Kara lives at the recycling plant ending but Alice dies, you can die too.

I’ve never actually seen the steal money and go to motel option play out because it’s stupid, especially if you don’t steal clothes. Like that’s begging to be caught.

Stranger things

Billy Hargrove is bad and just because he’s abused does not make what he does okay.

Harringrove is gross and I’m gay so my opinion counts as double.

That being said, there are some really cute fics about Harringrove and I can see the appeal of “good boy falls for mysterious bad boy with a dark past and trauma”

I’ve said I’m gay this whole post because I say it a lot, but I don’t like actually labeling myself but I like girls and boys and everything in between and I say I’m gay kinda as a joke when girls are hot.

That being said...

Steve Harrington calling himself Daddy made me feel things.

Steve Harrington is a good person now, but he was still an asshole before and he can still be criticized for his past.

I used to be hardcore Jancy but after season three I feel like Nancy needs and deserves a break from boys so she can figure out herself and who she is now and what she wants to do without the weight of boys and boyfriends constantly around her.

That being said i still don’t like Nancy because she was flirting/slept in the same bed with Jonathan whilst obviously having feelings for him while she and Steve were still a thing. It’s not cheating but to me it’s close enough to raise red flags.

Robin is perfect in every way.

I don’t like Jonathan. He’s creepy in s1, fine in s2, but then is s3 he doesn’t do anything to or about his male bosses when Nancy is being made fun of because she’s a woman.

Seeing Nancy’s class priveledge/Jonathan’s male priveledge clashing was so cool tbh

Mrs. Wheeler shouldn’t sleep with billy (not that she can now) because it’s wrong, but the reason she wanted to is because her husband is so boring and she gave up on her dreams to be his perfect housewife. She wanted a challenge with Billy. Instead, she should leave her pushover of a husband and find someone better.

Anyway Steve Harrington deserves the world.

Rankin’ the Waifus

I feel like when you’re drunk with friends, you either have the best ideas ever, or the worst ideas. Which is this? Well, at first, I thought this was a fantastic idea, given that @fukae-flwr challenged Drunk Me to do this, until she gave me the rules. . . The rules made it even harder for Drunk Me to do, leaving Sober Me to rise to the challenge, just to prove her wrong. Now, I know what you’re thinking, “Persephone, you have too many Waifus, ranking them is like picking between them is impossible,” but I finally, after a lot of debate, reviewing, and “friendly” discussions, involving way to much cussing and slamming of hands with friends, I was finally able to settle on the list, so without further ado, here are the rules.

1) Only one character from the franchise.

2) They have to be Waifus, not favorite characters (this rule comes in to play a lot later on).

Let’s kick off this list now with the easiest thing, the honorable waifus.

Now, these are in no particular order, because even leaving them off the top 10 was hard enough.

Lucy Heartfillia: Fairy Tail

This one waifu per series is the only reason why Lucy had to be cut from the main list. Let’s clear something up here, Lucy is Top Tier Waifu, especially in a series with as many Waifus as there are. Lucy has everything, from a fantastic development, to a great personality, to a gorgeous character design, and she definitely deserves more praise in the series than she gets. Sadly, my waifu choice from this series, only barely beats Lucy, but not mentioning her would be a crime.

Rindo Kobayashi: Shokugeki no Souma

Rindo is the most obvious choice from this waifu heavy series. She’s spunky, entertaining, and a glutton to boot, but above all, she’s actually a terrifying opponent to go against, especially since she’s one of the best cooks in the series. I mean hell, she literally uses alligator in one battle simply because she just felt like it, and her being apart of Centrol and having access to as many resources as they do. From the moment she’s introduced, she stole every scene she was in, even if it was just for a panel or two, if that’s not a waifu, I don’t know what is.

Maika Sakuranomiya: Blend S

This is where that waifu rule plays in.  Maika is my waifu of the series, not my favorite character; that title is held strong by Hidori, the trap idol who steals the series from the moment they are introduced in episode 8.  Maika, and her non-intentional sadistic look, make her the best waifu choice.  It’s endearing, and sweet to watch her try her hardest to not be sadistic, but fail making all of us fall in love with her more.  Also, who doesn’t love a bit of sadism in their waifus?

C.C: Code Geass

Ah, the waifu who started this whole drunken debate.  She’s the classic, Pizza Hut loving, immortal waifu, who is literally unforgetable.  The latest addition of her to my massive figure collection only reminded me just how strong of a waifu choice she really is, despite being from one of the oldest series on this list.  

Mayoi Hachikuji, Tsubasa Hanekawa, Hitagi Senjougahara:  The Monogatari Franchise

Honestly, a solid argument could be made for any of these girls to be the second best waifu.  You have Hanekawa, the lovely class president who only knows what she knows, Hitagi, the tsundere who has an unhealthy obsession with stationary, Mayoi, the dead snail ghost-turned-god girl who has literally the cutest bit with Araragi in the entire series, or even Karen and Tsukihi, the Fire Sisters of our main character.  Every girl in this series is a valid choice; well all but Nadako.  Fuck Nadako.  

Now that those mentions are out of the way, let’s get to the truly hard part.  

Top Ten Waifus: 

10: Homura Akemi: Puella Magi Madoka Magica

Okay, she’s not really 10, but I’m still mad at her, and after a full hour of debate, I still couldn’t justify putting her above any of the 9 other waifus who I wasn’t eternally mad at, so that valid.  Homura is such a bad ass, and honestly, one of the more deadlier choices of a waifu, adding on the massive magical girl obsession I have, I physically couldn’t leave her off the list.  

9: Brandish μ: Fairy Tail

Ah, Brandish, the Nation Destroyer herself.  She’s perfect, in every way, and I’ve loved her from the moment she was introduced in the final arc, and by far one of the standouts of Alvarez.  She’s adorable with her unique design, a massive cat obsession, and a stupidly powerful magic.  Also, she’s one of the few characters to actually get some development in the entire arc.  Mashima didn’t do a lot of good things in that arc, but he did gift the world with Brandish, so I can’t be too upset.  

8: Retsuko: Aggretsuko

One of the most relatable waifus anyone could ask for, but what more could I say that isn’t obvious?  She’s a Sanrio Red Panda who works in an office, hates her boss, and sings Death Metal kareoke.  I know she’s supposed to be an adorable mascot meant as a way to get us to spend money on her merchandise, but damnit Sanrio, did you have to make her this cute?!  Ugh, just take all my money already.  

7: Minako Aino (Sailor Venus): Sailor Moon

This is where the waifu of the series rule killed me.  My favorite character is Hotaru (Saturn), but I wouldn’t consider her a waifu; she’s more of a badass senshi who can literally destroy an entire galaxy with one swoosh of her Silence Glaive.  The only three I would consider waifu enough for this list are Seiya, Usagi, and Minako, but after breaking it down throughly with @fukae-flwr​, we were finally able to come down to the decision that Seiya, while being fantastic in every way, is not a waifu, and Usagi, while being relatable as fuck and lovable to boot, is and can only be Seiya’s Waifu, leaving Minako, the winner of the debate, and for good reason too.  She’s loveable, kind, caring, powerful and the leader of the inner senshi, and S Tier waifu material, so overall, I can’t be unhappy with the outcome of the debate.  

6. Android 21:  The Dragonball Franchise

Okay, this one was the hardest series for me to pick just one waifu from.  With so many choices, from Bulma to Android 18 to even Launch, (remember her? no? It’s okay, even Toriyama doesn’t).  I love all most of the Dragonball Waifus, so why did I ultimately settle for for the best Video Game Bae?  Simple.  She’s a badass who is hot as hell and literally eats people. . . .so a kink basically, but like, can you blame me?

5. Himako Toga: My Hero Academia

A knife wielding, psychopathic, serial killing yandere schoolgirl? There isn’t even a contest, Toga is best girl.  Period.  I will fight anyone who says otherwise.  

4. Stocking Anarchy: Panty and Stocking With Garterbelt

Again, this is another obvious choice as far as waifus go.  It was during yet another rewatch of this underrated show that I realized how much I genueinly love Stocking, and she’s clearly the better choice over Panty.  Stocking is the sweets loving, emo fallen angel/demon who cusses like a sailor and is into bondage.  Yes, I am aware, it’s another kink, but I don’t care, not even a little bit.  

3: Shalltear Bloodfallen: Overlord

Yeah, I choose Shalltear over Albedo.  Shalltear is best girl, and I’ll fight anyone who says otherwise.  I will admit though, that while Albedo is gorgeous and a great choice, Shalltear is a vampire with lesbian tendencies, and that instantly puts her above the virgin succubus.  Thank you Lord Peroroncino. 

2. Shiro: No Game No Life

When making this list, and talking out all of the waifu ranking, there were two that didn’t budge on the list at all, Shiro, and the number one choice.  Shiro is perfect, and even in a series with freaking fox people and Jibril, and that says something.  

1. Shinobu Oshino ( Kiss-Shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade): The Monogatari Franchise

Meet the Best Waifu in existence.  Honestly, it doesn’t matter if she’s in her Shinobu form, or her fully powered vampire form.  Shinobu/Kiss Shot is by far the best waifu anyone could have.  She’s a freaking powerful vampire that’s gorgeous, and mysterious in her true form, and even in her weaker form still manages to be powerful, snarky, and adorable as hell.  Also, her reaction to donuts will literally be the greatest thing in waifu history.  Ugh, I love her.  

And there you have it.  10 waifus ranked, and it only took three days, three people to rant to, and a shitton of headache pain killers later.  @fukae-flwr​ told you I could do it.  Next challenge. . . Husbandos.   Oof.

The Path (Game)

I watched a Let’s Play of this game years ago, and still can’t get it out of my head.  Tell me what’s going on overall, or just focus in on one of the girls and tell me her story.  I’d rather not get too sexual with this one, but if you want to do a little creepy romance with one of the older girls and her wolf (the piano wolf or the motorcycle wolf in particular) go for it.  I’ll take a happy ending or a sad ending here, either one would fit.  And if you want to make any of the girls Jewish, feel free to go there...

Spinning Silver

This book was a revelation to me.  An actual practicing Jewish heroine!  Clearly explained economics!  Creepy fairies!  Heroine/villain romance!  Anything focusing on Miryem is good here, be it romantic and/or sexual with her fairy king, or simply a day in the life of being a clever moneylender.  And does she continue her job with other mythical creatures?

Matthew Bourne’s Sleeping Beauty: A Gothic Romance

Trite as it may be, I’m a sucker for heroine/villain/hero love triangles, and this ballet gave me exactly what I wanted.  So, tell me about Aurora!  Tell me about her love for Leo and/or Caradoc, her fear and desperation in captivity, or her adjustment to life as a vampire!  This is one where I’d be happy to see things get sexy (non or dubcon is okay where Caradoc is concerned) but please don’t feel obligated to go there.

The Masque of the Red Death (1964)

I was just reflecting on how much I love this movie, and thinking about how cool Francesca’s role is- she’s the ingenue, sure, but she also gets to argue with the villain and hold to her own philosophical beliefs.  You can give me more of those scenes, or tell me more about her love/hate dynamic with Prince Prospero.  And what if the religion she felt so strongly about had been Judaism?  How would that change the story in an alternate universe?

The Frisco Kid

I love this movie.  I love Avram and Tommy’s friendship- they’re just so sweet together!  I’d love to see more of them, be it gen friendship or slash.  And if you haven’t seen the movie, please take this as encouragement to do so.  Young Gene Wilder and young Harrison Ford!  It’s great!

Dracula- Bram Stoker

Dracula is my favorite novel and Mina Harker is my favorite character, so I’d love to see something about her and/or Lucy.  This could be a missing episode during the plot of the book, an episode after, or an alternate canon divergence universe.  I’m not too keen on the ‘Mina is Dracula’s reincarnated wife and/or Jonathan is evil’ trope, but otherwise I’m open to any sort of wackiness (or seriousness!)  If you’re looking for a way to fit Jewish culture into this prompt, tell me what happens when Jewish symbols are used against vampires.  Do they work?  What’s the theology and/or metaphysics behind what works?

Look, I’ll come out and say it- I think the female characters were done dirty by the sequel and book materials, especially Audrey and Donna.  I’d like to think something positive could have happened to them in another universe (I’m neutral on Audrey/Dale, but having her forever pine after him after having been raped by his doppleganger and giving birth to a soulless child and married to a man she hates and confined to an asylum was a special kind of cruelty.)  So I’ll take fix fic, or if you just don’t want to touch that area at all, something nice happening to Donna, Audrey, Shelley or even Laura’s ghost during seasons 1 or 2 would be really nice.

Fallout: New Vegas

My Courier is female, so I’ll happily take fem!Courier fic, but I’d also enjoy something about Cass, Veronica or Lily.  I’d also love to think of my Courier as Jewish, and generally ship her with Boone, but any of these details are totally optional.  I just love this world- the characters, the dialogue, the complex political relationships- and I love getting to spend time there in fic.  Do something scary with our heroine(s) up against the Legion or do something fluffy about singing folksongs in the desert, I’ll love it either way!

English and Scottish Popular Ballads- Francis James Child

I’ll honestly take anything with this.  I love folk music, and I’d love to hear any of the ballads expanded on.  (Young Lord Hugh is, uh, probably not the easiest choice, but if you want to tell me how the Jewish villainess was actually framed, be my guest.)  There are so many intriguing women in these songs, just pick your favorite heroine or villainess and go for it!

Kushiel’s Legacy

I love every Night Court worldbuilding story I read!  I’d love to know about your favorite house, whether it’s one we’ve seen in action or not- what the hell do they do in Alyssum?  What’s it like for a Valerian adept who likes her job but doesn’t have Phaedre’s extreme masochism?  If you want to take on a bigger challenge, my biggest complaint about this series is that I really, really don’t like how they did the Jewish characters.  If you think you could write out a scenario with Jews in the world of Kushiel who aren’t either merged with Christians or poor lost souls just waiting for the light of Elua, please give it a try!

Disregarding his canon behavior, I’m uncomfortable with the way I handled his character in the past when I rped him.  I’ve matured slightly since, and honestly I’m less embarrassed about my in-character behavior and more about how I acted ooc.  Honestly it’s still hard for me to separate this guy from me being an obnoxious and confused 18-19 year old.
