The case of Rose Lalonde is extraordinary because she's ACTIVE.

You would expect her to be in line with the archetype of the "silent oracle". The one who knows but doesn't reveal too much, watches carefully and never acts. That's NOT the case. She's not the oracle. She's a TRUTH SEEKER, not a truth holder.

But she isn't in line with the opposite ideal either, the one of the naive truth seeker, the conspiracy theorist, the detective, the one that goes mad trying to find the end of the labyrinth, trapping 'emself in spiderweb of red strings.

You know what I mean, think 'about the guy from The Lighthouse reaching for the light.

Rose is ACTIVE but clever enough to keep her mind together, even when she's a cocky teenager ahshasa.

And now I know who she is! She's a very special kind of truth seeker nontheless: The one blading Ockham's blade through the the Gordian knot! What a wonder, what a marvel! Think 'about Helen Brand from Glass Onion destroying the box of riddles.

Not just someone who seeks for the truth, but someone who can SEE the truth. Behind each layer of bullshit and lies, pretentious mysteries and deadend enigmas. You can't trap her inside the labyrinth, she'd destroy the walls. The kind of person that would go straight for the prize in the Treasure hunt instead of following the clues.

But biy, oh boy. The hubris! Classic flaw of the tragic hero. A life of answers without questions and overconfidence above subtlety. No wonder she never fully understood Mom Lalonde. The perfect paradox, the perfect game: She was trying to shoot a fish in a barrel.

And that works in SUCH a way for her interest in psychology and the occult! Of course she was attracted by the Unknown under a pile of irony. She wasn't actually interested in the mystery by itself but by the pure practicality of knowledge, not the aqueous uncertany of void and imagination.

She's the death of all fairytales!!! Her ass can't take seriously any of this bullshit!!! She learned it just to mock it AND THEN use it to her favor!!! YOU LITTLE ARMCHAIR THERAPIST!!!

I know that Jade is the Wizard of Oz and all of that but Rose would absolutely discovered the wizard's secret AND PLAYED ALONG JUST TO FUCK WITH THE SYSTEM.

AND FALL INTO A WORSE AND EVEN MORE STUPID SITUATION BECAUSE OF HER HUBRIS, ROSE!!!
