Oh, dang, I've just discovered your art recently, but (as someone who's been around for a While) you give off the vibe that you've been in the fandom for a long time!!!

HFHFF ive been on tumblr a long time!! homestuck spores breezing by clinging to my socks for years as time passes until i finally decided to step into the forest fr.... (aka ive been listening to broadway karkat since i was 13? 14? despite not being able to read past A Young Man Stands In His Bedroom)

I will never understand the hate that Ikimaru suffers in this fandom to this day (and she is not even part of this fandom anymore) and it is incredible how these pretentious people talk badly about her art (they are clearly jealous of her artistic style).

They hate her for having drawn white DaveRose in a sensual manner that one time, her drawing Roxy in a not dark enough tan skin, most characters being skinny instead of obese, drawing most of the characters on model as they are seen on the webcomic, and the most offensive crime of all that they hate.... is her drawing vaguely anime art style. That's why they hate her. She has regret drawing Davekat, as she is one of the same artist the contributed to the Vriskagram where Dave and Karkat sat in that couch. There probably were people that hate Ikimaru for drawing Dave on model as a white boy, not giving him curly hair or dark skin. Basically, people hating on her for stupid ass shit.

in order to hate something professionally, you have to know a lot about it, so i feel like you probably can sum up davekats history throughout homestucks ENTIRE run better than any davekat stan. care to try?

Since Tumblr character text is a bitch, I had to do this instead.

And thus, people ship Davekat despite all the crap that happened within the series in a story and narrative perspective. People who used to ship Davekat like ikimaru, who even took part to the Vriskagram and made a Davekat piece for it (the two sitting on the couch), regrets having liking the ship and contributing to it. Requiem Cafe would also be bias in shipping them in order to gain fans and money by having the two cardboard standee cutouts be close to each other.
