Boozing up stuff #2 : one my favorite beers last year was a deMolen bowmore barrel aged stout so I want to give my stout a twist in that direction. Watch the color of the raspberry rooibos after taking out both 😍and it tastes just like it looks. Indulgent tart raspberry with rooibos. Will be ready for bottling after settling again. I took out the swimming material to prevent clogging when bottling. Is there any rational reason why I should not soak my ground coffee directly in my beer instead of making cold brew coffee and then put it in? I did not find any and so I put those 2kg of ground Mokka for about 15hours into my stout. Took it out again today and from the first taste impression has a intense coffee aroma. I think that one will turn out really nice. I start to hate kegs. Got those second hand kegs and wanted to bottle a batch of blackberry cacao barreled imperial dark Saison 7.6% (you can see from the name that it is an expensive beer). Filled two 18l kegs, one of them I just could not make it air or liquidtight at the lid. So I ended up pouring it back into tank, resulting in a huge mess and a totally stirred beer. Then I filled all the bottles available and for the last 10l I had constant blackberry sludge blockings, it was a huge mess! Anyhow, ended up with 85l bottled/ kegged. Lost about 15l to the blackberrys. I think that’s normal. Couldn’t finish cooling down last brewday until I had to pick up the kids from daycare. So I left a Slow whirlpool going for 3.5 hours and did the transfer when they were in bed. This was the result.
