Mr. & Mrs. Gingerbread | 8 Days of SKZcember 2023
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Prompt: putting a gingerbread house together
❣ Summary: The perfect ginger house for the perfect ginger family. ❣  ❣ Word Count: 875 ❣ Warnings: Tooth-Rotting Fluff, Felix and Reader are really passionate about their gingerbread people ❣  ❣ Female! Reader [No use of Y/N] | You/Your pronouns ❣  ❣ Additional Tags: Felix is referred to as Lix[ie], and Mr. Gingerbread, Reader is referred to as Sunshine, and Mrs. Gingerbread ❣ Stray Kids Masterlist ❣ General Masterlist ❣ SKZcember 2023
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Are you sure you don’t wanna make the gingerbread house from scratch?”
You had to fight yourself from falling for those pleading brown eyes, knowing full and well that there was already half an hour left on the three hour chill time for the gingerbread dough he previously made, and if he made another batch you wouldn’t be making the house until it was well into the evening.
“Lixie, honey, you’re already making the gingerbread people from scratch - we can cheat and use the premade cookie house again, okay?” Sliding the unopened box on the kitchen island, you drummed lightly on the cardboard, “Besides, we already bought extra candy and icing so we don’t have to use the, quote, ‘cheap icing and stale candy with no true theme’.”
Felix blushed, taking the box from your grasp with a small huff of indignation, “Hey! You agreed with me when we were at the store!”
“I never said you were wrong, now did I?” Pinching his cheek lightly, you busied yourself with taking the extra sweet decorations out of their packaging while he took care of unboxing the project of the afternoon.
With each piece laid out and carefully inspected, operation Gingerbread Builders was a go.
“So, I’m thinking this is Mr. and Mrs. Gingerbread’s first time in the housing market, so we have to make this an extra special house for them.”
“Mhm - They need a house that’ll stand out from all the rest, they wanna make a statement in this neighborhood.”
“As they should, it’s deserved!”
A natural silence fell over you both as you each worked on your respective parts of the house; you with the back and left wall, Felix with the front and right wall, saving the roof for the final piece to put together.
“Who do you think has more say in the design of the house?” Felix mused as he cut pieces of gummy candy into small squares.
“Mr. Gingerbread for sure, he went to school for Gingerbread Home Design, with a minor in theater.”
“Figures, Mrs. Gingerbread went for Ginger-Fashion in Uni, and we all know fashion prowess doesn’t translate to houses well.”
“Then it’s a good thing they met through the theater club, isn’t it?”
Giggling at your fictional gingerbread lore, you both continued decorating the house in colorful candies and icing accents; the soft background music of a carefully curated winter themed Animal Crossing playlist playing to fill in the peaceful atmosphere.
With some blatantly obvious sneaking of candy here, and playful marking of icing on hands there, the walls of the home were finished and it was time to put them together.
You dutifully lined the edges of the gingerbread panels with the thick icing provided from the box, sticking them together carefully before repeating the process with the other sides until both walls, and the front and back of the house were in place.
“Do you think they’re a weaved panel or classic snow-top type of couple?”
Carefully placing the roofless house onto the icing-layered plastic foundation, you shot him a look, “What does that even mean, Lix?”
“Should the roof be in a lattice design,” he explained, mimicking the lattice design with his hands, “or should we make it look like it’s a snowy roof?”
“Well…” Taking a look at one of the roof pieces, you carefully lined one side of the rooftop, “Mrs. Gingerbread likes the way the snowy roof looks, especially since all of the other houses on the block have some extravagant design - she’s a simple elegant gingerbread.”
Nodding, Felix smiled happily, “Mr. Gingerbread likes that, especially since it leaves more room for a gumdrop design!”
“Oh, Mr. Gingerbread, always the one for showing the beauty in subtlety.” You hummed warmly, sticking one roof panel carefully on top of the icing.
“Mrs. Gingerbread loves him for it.” His tone was just as warm, as sweet as the icing currently sticking to your fingers.
“Yes, she does.”
Sticking the second roof panel on the house, you swapped positions with the freckled blond to let him have creative authority of the soon to be snowy rooftop; watching as the bland gingerbread squares slowly transformed into a beautiful snow-topped roof with a rainbow licorice topping, gumdrops and mini jawbreakers dotted in a beautiful pattern where the ‘snow’ hadn’t reached - with your help, of course.
Just when you thought the decorating was complete, Felix leaned over the house and began using the remaining white icing to create an icicle pattern along the edge of the roof, leaving you to watch in amazement like a child watching toffee being made.
“And… Done!” Standing straight, his cheeks pulled up into his usual sunshine smile, as he gazed at the collaborative masterpiece in front of him, “It looks amazing, doesn't it?!”
Your heart swelled, a smile finding its way onto your own face as you nodded, “It is, you did wonderful, Mr. Gingerbread.”
Turning his head to you, you could see what you could only describe as pure love in his sparkling eyes. “You did wonderful too, Mrs. Gingerbread.”
The sound of the oven alarm beeping broke you from your reverie, though it only made Felix’s smile grow wider than before.
“Wanna clean up and make our ginger-people?”

This home is an Airbnb short term rental, but it's so much fun, if I had $7.9M + $42mo. HOA to buy the 1993 estate in Clermont, FL, I would live in it full time. It has 12bds, 9ba on 54.38 acres. The price includes the business, so you get all the stuff with it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This room with the full kitchen and huge screen TV has theater seating and look at the balconies with figures on them. The double doors say "Cinema," so I guess this is also the home theater, but it looks like a family room.
Tumblr media
Tropical rainforest dining room with a carved table and chairs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Arcade games, a pool table, and a TV area.
Tumblr media
Plus another full kitchen with a table that looks like a baseball.
Tumblr media
The bedrooms have themes- here we have a football field.
Tumblr media
Ski chalet?
Tumblr media
The baths are spacious, but basically white, nothing special.
Tumblr media
Who wants the golf cart bed? And, simulated golf room.
Tumblr media
Are you ready to rumble in the wrestling room?
Tumblr media
The body builder's room.
Tumblr media
Love the race car room.
Tumblr media
Hockey.
Tumblr media
Some coordinated baths are decorated.
Tumblr media
The B-Ball room.
Tumblr media
Baseball bunk room.
Tumblr media
Ski ball. This is more my speed.
Tumblr media
And, it has a cool bath.
Tumblr media
Black light bunk room has a beachy motif.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Florida bird cage pool.
Tumblr media
The description says 3 kitchens, but this is the 5th I've counted.
Tumblr media
Picnic area. Guests have to share the house.
Tumblr media
Outdoor games.
Tumblr media
There's a boat house.
Tumblr media
Looks like one of those swan pedal boats.
Tumblr media
The house is managed by an outside company, but the new owner can choose to do it himself. Also, the current owner has more ideas that the new owner can add to the property. I'm a little disappointed that every single room is sports-themed.

North Bend lots list
The main reason why I did not share the assembled version of the world is that I am not a great builder, and I take most of the lots from other worlds or download from MTS or the exchange. I decided that it's not okay if I just put it in the download along with the world. But I know how frustrating it can be when you start the game with an empty world, so here it is: the full list of NB lots and the link on the creator's page. The post will be filled and updated. Also I`ll be happy if someone wants to share their creations or finds for NB!

Hey Artzy, do you have any tips on how to write an OC without making them a Mary Sue?
I guess, just don’t make them overly perfect and “can do no wrong.” There’s nothing wrong with seemingly perfect characters like how I wrote Aurore, becuase she feels pressured by her parents to be perfect. Now, if you take away the bit about her parents, make her incredibly self righteous, give her all of these natural talents without any sort of practice, have everyone fawning over her, and let her always be in the right about everything and everyone who says she’s wrong is a piece of shit, then she becomes a Mary Sue
Like a certain someone…
Here are the Science Kids for example, OCs, and the canon ones I fleshed out
Aurore: Straight A’s and definitely getting into her top school, but how will she tell her parents she’s a lesbian and can’t keep being their “golden child” right before she cuts all ties with them and goes to live with her brother?
Denise: An enby with a physique body builders would kill for, yet they feel overworked by their parents simply because they’re the strongest in the family and the elder twin
Simon: Tech Wiz often commissioned to create promo videos for upcoming events, still not completely over their parents abuse and still has mental and physical scars
Reshma: Beautiful, modest rich girl with a love for magical girl anime and anime in general, BUT! She has difficulties knowing if potential love interests truly love her and not her status or looks. Also, has some difficulties trusting older men due to incidents at galas
Jean: Plucky theater kid with a flare for dramatics and has an amazing boyfriend. Who would have guessed that this guy still blames himself for his mom leaving?
Ismael: Cool skateboarder, loves magic tricks, and always seem so cool under pressure. His personality is just a mask to cover up the fact that he’s emotionally drained due to the torment his mother puts him through when he gets home and that his dad wasn’t able to get custody of him after the divorce
Mireille: Pleasant shy girl with a meek demeanor everyone seems to love? Throw in a bastard dad who keeps trying to push her into the spotlight despite the fact that she is painfully shy!
Cosette: On their way to become Paris’ next top makeup artist! How fun! Oh, what’s this? Their “perfect” older siblings are total assholes and this stems from the fact that their mother is emotionally distant and hasn’t once complimented or shown physical affection to any of her own children? And now they put on this cool “I’m here for it” persona and crack jokes to mask their tears?… Wow
Lacey: Let’s see… Incredibly athletic, cute yet badass… Dead parents. Has to take care of both her grandparents and younger brothers. Fears the day her grandparents will die as she does not feel mentally and emotionally ready to take care of her brothers all on her own and refuses to let people in and hell her so she does parkour and all sorts of other activities to null the pain
Marc: Talented writer with legs for days and a cute boyfriend. My, what could possibly be his flaw? Oh! I know! A bad case of anxiety, and depending on the universe, he’s still terrified of Lucien and believe he’s the one at fault for their relationship taking a toxic turn! Boom!
Zoé: Rich mom, rich dad. But, what’s this? The mom is a complete bitch (Which we already know) and is always pressuring her into looking and acting “like her daughter,” even going so far as to bleach her hair at a young age, forcing her to compete in beauty pageants, and the constant verbal abuse regarding her looks. The dad’s cool, though. He misses her dearly
See, no one’s perfect. Not all of them get straight A’s, and not all of them have parents who are super well off due to a thriving business or some shit, and not all of them have parents who are totally accepting of their genders and sexualities. They have to be human, and humans have flaws

more from the 2011 "the bus" kickstarter's updates via james lantz:
2. We're designing and building our set. We're so lucky to have Michael Schweikardt designing our set. Our director, John Simpkins, and Michael have been working together for years, so it's great to have this team behind The Bus. To give you some idea of some of the talent behind our show, The Wall Street Journal recently said of Michael's set for the acclaimed Goodspeed Musical's production of Showboat, "Michael Schweikardt's compact yet rich-looking sets deserve a prize for sheer ingenuity." Michael is definitely bringing some of that ingenuity to our show at 59E59 -- check out the photo essay below of our work-in-progress set for The Bus. Pictured are our Vermont artisans, John Maurier of Champlain Metals who is building the platform structure, and Mark Dabelstein, our set builder (who worked outside in the rain today ripping out an old gas pump!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have to be quiet right now because I'm preparing this update in the middle of rehearsal so that's why I'm typing lightly (tap, tap, tap...) but I couldn't wait because I really wanted to share an idea with you.... [...] ps. This is my view of rehearsal right now (plus 2 other pics from rehearsal)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Last night I was walking from the rehearsal studio to grab a bite to eat and I passed by our soon-to-be home, 59E59 Theaters -- and there, in front of the theater, was a postcard kiosk with the brand new postcards for The Bus loaded and ready for people to pick up.  Suddenly feels like we're official! (In a couple of days, I can't wait for our two actors, Will and Bryan to see their faces on a HUGE 10' poster in the theater windows!)  [...] You're becoming a topic of conversation, too! New Yorkers are interested in how we crowd-funded our entire play. One industry guy told me, "Look, I'm used to dealing with a handful of wealthy investors to put on my plays -- but 450 people, some who've donated less than $10 -- never heard of that before!" We also got a call from a publicist who inquired about the possibility of a reporter following us to Topeka to write about a crowd-funded play on the road. We'll be sure and keep you posted. Oh, and Thank You to our backers who wrote personal notes to some key press and industry folks -- we were able to get about 55 hand-written notes to some of the most influential theater folk in the city. Thank you!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay, so we're minutes away from our first NYC performance and we're sold out! I don't have much time so I'm sending you a photo essay of our first couple of days here at 59E59 that should tell you what we've been up to and, in a small way, let you know that we wish you were here. This is, after all, your show too!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Our last show at 59E59 Theaters was this afternoon -- lots of tears, hugs and a standing ovation. A nice way to end our run at one of the best Off Broadway venues in New York City (Thank you for having us 59E59! We loved being at your theater!). So we loaded up the truck, said our goodbyes to our cast and crew (until December) and soon, we'll be Vermont-bound with our set, costumes and an old Texaco gas pump. Now it's time to turn our sights toward Kansas where we'll be taking our show in December (in our next post, we'll give you more details about our forthcoming performance). In the meantime, we're pretty exhausted here. We'll leave you with some pictures of our load-out and one last shot of us standing in front of 59E59 Theaters.  Oh, one more thought -- there wasn't a single show that YOU weren't present -- you were in the program, on our website, and on our mind every time The Bus took to the stage in NYC. We're not done yet -- we still have our backer rewards to get to you (I'm so sorry for the delay; producing our show has been a much bigger and time-consuming task than I had expected!) and we've got our show in Kansas to produce, too -- but we just cleared a big hurdle and now seems like a good time to say, 'We couldn't have done it without you! Thank you!'

During the shows I stood in the back of the theater and watched as The Bus unfolded for some of the most attentive audiences we've ever played for. The cast felt it, too -- one of our actors, Bryan Fitzgerald, said that, 'Like no other time, he felt every eye focused on the show like a laser.' It was fascinating to listen to our audiences, too -- what they laughed at, when they were quiet, and when a few of them audibly gasped. Some jokes in the script that never got a response in New York, got hearty and sustained laughter from our generous folks in Kansas. At the end of every show our cast received standing ovations -- lots of tears, smiles and people saying how much they appreciated us bringing the show to their state. We were so moved.

Busy Bee Journal entries
Monday 3/13 2017   6:46pm Tea Cups
Bob  took the “ The 9”  movie ticket!. I walked it down to the State Theater, but, the door was locked. On the way back to Brendan, I encountered  Bob—or, the altered Bob (he’s had a lot to drink). He was happy to get it.
There’s a blonde homeless guy next to Tresetie’s— I gave him a TJSK bag—asked if he wanted to see a movie. H had a lot of stuff “maybe after dark”.
So, I bought him a ticket for the 7:30pm “Logan” movie.
He turned it down again, citing his tendency to revolt as the reason. I smelled alcohol on him

He , too, helps the drug—homeless. He said his home is his sanctuary. He lives alone. Few visitors.
He said “don’t cut off the connection…” (from DJ)
He went to Chico State. (As did I) In Breaking Bad fashion, as a pharmacy student, he manufactured 100s of thousands of dollars in Meth. Got 10 years prison. he was the  guy that sold me the table.

DJ doesn’t want to come in—“so depressed. “Not hungry”.
——
Ouch-----
5:25pm I’m sitting out in front of my house.
Greg  sleeps.
He showed me Mother Mary in one  tree and a woman’s face in another. They were on Brigsmore Ave near Starbucks.
I met him at the gas station on 9th across from the Adult Book Store around noon.
Last night he slept on the cement. He hadn’t eaten in two days.
I bought cigarettes for Mike. I drove to Salvation Army to meet him at 11am. He was a no show.
I went to Preservation Coffee where a friend asked “What’s this (TJSK) project about? You could be murdered."
Then I drove to the gas station and met Greg.
He had blue paint on his fingers . He paints house numbers on curbs for a living.
-------------------------------------------
I just tried to wake him. He’s really softly asleep.
Now what?
We encountered Strawberry Sterling outside Hamburger Habit.
Greg offered to go to re- hab with Sterling. Later, Greg threw his last dollar at Sterling….
Sterling is way down.
Heroin sick.
Bad skin disorder.
Greg asked if Sterling had seen Greg’s girl friend Brook. No.
Greg’s hunting for her.
I told him that I hunt for Jim
And, of everyone’s hunt for Frantz in last night’s movie.
(Frantz: 2016 movie)
Greg asked several times why I appeared today.
Greg “What does it mean?”
“What do you want?”
Me “nothing”
He’s healing to be with. Warm feel to him
End of this part of the entries from my  Busy Bee journal2017 journal
Notes: 6/22/2024
In mid March 2017 I began an intense involvement with the homeless that lasted until the end of that year. This included passing out bags, usually bags I bought at Trader Joes. I called them Trader Joe Survival Kits (TJSK). The bags included food, socks and toiletries.
”The 9” movie was a movie about the homeless in Modesto. It was terrible and I walked out of the State Theater in Modesto mid movie .
I had given my lawyer friend Bob (not his real name) a ticket to see the movie.
The Brendan is a movie theater in Modesto. Tea Cup was a restaurant adjoining the theater. Treseties is a restaurant about a block away. The blonde homeless man that I met there was named Mike. He was a handsome muscular blonde musician. He practiced his music like I practice my law he would later tell me. When he turned the movie ticket, I gave it to DJ who I spotted charging his phone outside of Tea Cup. We saw “Logan “ together. I then offered let him stay at may house that night. He turned me down, but, I did take him to the house, about a mile away, to give him a coat. It was cold that night. The next day, I found DJ asleep on a downtown side walk. I asked him again if he wanted to stay in my house. This time he said yes. He stayed a few nights, but, my “homed” friends feared I would be hurt or killed, so, I asked him to leave.
But, the seed was planted and I would go on to have several other  homeless men spend a few nights or a few weeks with me at my house. Including DJ until the end of October 2017..
Greg  was one of them. He came from a good family in New York. He was married and had children. And, he had severe mental illness issues. He was a magic man who would show me images in murals he had painted around town and tell me why they were significant. With one of the murals , I had to view it by holding a mirror and studying the mural in the mirror as he explained it.
]
He was searching for his x girl fried Brook. I was searching for my deceased partner Jim. And the characters in the movie Frantz were searching for him (his memory). He was a German soldier who had been  been killed by a French soldier in WWI. The soldier who killed him was  among those" searching for" Frantz.
Breaking Bad was a TV show about a an all American family who get heavily involved in Meth production.
I'm giving these entries to you in a raw version. Pretty much as I wrote it. I think it better catches the feel of the experience than a polished version.
