Bf Yuuta Okkotsu headcanons
He definitely is the perfect boyfriend.
Calls you with the sweetest pet name and softest tone: honey, babe, darling, my love, angel….
Whenever he sees you, his eyes always sparkle, full of love and affection.
Likes peppering kisses on your forehead, cheeks, nose, knuckles, neck….on every part of your body.
He’s a clingy person, always find a way to be close to you
If you’re in public, he’ll hold your hand, intertwine his fingers with yours and squeeze them tightly
And if he sees someone looking at you, he’ll hug you by grabbing your waist, pulling you closer and staring at that person with dead eyes.
Talking about dead eyes, the dark circles under his eyes just become bigger and bigger as time passes, in spite of all your efforts to make them disappear. But they’re endearing, aren’t they ?
Anyway back to the clingy part, he finds it better to sleep when he has you on top of him, or when he can spoon you all night. And he somehow can always find a way to kiss your forehead or your cheeks a million times during the night.
He loves cuddling and hugging, really really love. If you’re watching a movie or scrolling your phone thoughtlessly? Sit on his lap so he can hold you tight. If you’re cooking in the kitchen? He will hug you from behind, resting his head on your shoulder and murmur “I love you”. If he or you just come home and are very exhausted? Cuddling will be the best remedy.
The way he holds you is so firm yet so gentle, like you’re the most fragile thing and will break apart if he adds more strength. And he will rub your back back and forth unconsciously, or draw small circles on it, or maybe caress your hair and play with it.
He loves lying on your lap, or on top of you too. He just so obsessed with how soft and warm your body is, and when you play with his hair, massage his scalp, it will lull him to sleep and get the best dream about you and him.
He’ll buy you gifts for no reason, just because he wants you to feel happier and have a better day (every day with him is the best day )
He prefers to take dates in some places like the cafe you both like, the peaceful and quiet movie theater or the aquarium, everywhere that brings comfortable and cozy vibes rather than noisy and hectic places (but if you want to go he’ll go without complain, he just likes to spend time with you, no matter the places)
Oh this boy has the warmest smile ( I love the way he smiles in movie 0, my heart melts every time I watch that scene), and his beaming face will never fail to light up your day, you always find yourself mirroring his emotion whenever he’s grinning at you.
He’ll never raise his voice to you, NEVER. If you two are in an argument, and if anger is going to take the best of you, he’ll hold your hand strongly, tell him to look directly at his eyes. That time you realize just how much affectionate in his gaze every time he puts his eyes on you, then you can be calmer and find a way to resolve the useless strife.
He tells you that he loves you every day, billions of times per day.
When he wakes up in the morning and finds you’re sleeping peacefully in his embrace, the three words “I love you” will slip out of his tongue as naturally as he breathes. At midnight, in his dream, he also quietly murmurs those three words while burying his head in the crook of your neck or bathing in the warmth of your chest, hearing your gentle heartbeat.
OMG I JUST LOVE HIM SO MUCHHHHH OH MY BABY BOY :"((((. I WRITE THIS TO INDULGE MY DAYDREAMS. UGHH I NEED HIM SO BAD
English isn't my first language, so please be nice with all the grammar mistakes and odd vocabulary. You can point out my errors and I will fix them as soon as possible

< park seonghwa x any! reader >
warnings: very sad angst, suic!de
Tumblr media
you didn’t think joining the special forces would have any consequences. after all, there’s never been a mission that was this important that they had to call you in. you lived your days in happiness with seonghwa, nothing could go wrong…
Tumblr media
You and Seonghwa were laying in bed when you got the call. You were playing with his hair as he laid on your chest, something you’ve done since you dated, and something you’ve continued to do after you got married. It made you happy to provide comfort for him, and he knew that. It was past midnight, but that was okay. You and your husband were late sleepers, so you answered it without a problem. At least, it wasn’t a problem until you found out you were being sent on an assignment all the way across the world, in some desert. You look over at Seonghwa, who was already sitting up in concern.
“I have to go, my dear.” You tell him after the call was ended, and he nodded. “I know, star. I’ll be here waiting for you to get back.” He kissed your forehead, letting the kiss linger. Neither of you knew how long you’d be gone this time, it was your first assignment since you got married. In previous times, you’ve been gone for months on end.
He helped you pack your bag, and even ate a snack with you before the blacked out truck pulled into your driveway. With one last kiss, and one last ‘I love you’, you left out the door, and he stood on the porch, watching the car disappear into the nighttime darkness. When he went inside, the house felt strangely empty and cold.
That was a month ago. And the mission couldn’t have gone more wrong. You’ve had minimal contact with anyone, per agency rules. You had no idea what was going on back home, especially with the love of your life. You were held hostage, chained in a dark basement with no windows. You had no concept of time, your captors leaving in even shifts so you never knew whether it was day or not. No matter how much they tortured you, you never gave up. Your will was strong, keeping hope that someone, anyone would come save you.
Today, whatever day or time it might’ve been, felt different. You felt this strange feeling in your stomach, as if the world as you knew it was ending. And that’s when you saw two men come into your cell, one of them carrying an assault rifle. “It’s time for you to die, girl.” He spoke, his voice gruff. Your stomach dropped and your heart began racing, this wasn’t how it was supposed to go. You had so much you wanted to do.
And yet, you showed no fear. You lifted your head, and with the last amount of energy you had in your body, you mustered the strength to spit at his feet. 𝘖𝘩, 𝘚𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘩𝘸𝘢, 𝘮𝘺 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦. 𝘐'𝘮 𝘴𝘰 𝘴𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘢𝘺. 𝘐 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶. Those were your last thoughts as you heard the shot rang out, and then, nothing.
Meanwhile, back at home, Seonghwa continued to live. He had confidence in you, he had 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘩 that you were coming home to him soon. So, he didn’t worry too much, and he kept the house organized like normal. And everyday for three months, he repeated the cycle. His days blended together, but the longer you were gone, the more worried he became. He contacted your agency, asking for a time that they expected you home. They gave him no answer, keeping the conversation brief.
The fourth month, he stopped sleeping. He couldn’t sleep comfortably without you by his side any longer. This was your longest mission that he remembered, and he wasn’t used to not having you home for this long. He tried many different sleep remedies, from melatonin and herbal tea to self induced hypnosis. None of the methods worked better than you. He had dark circles under his eyes, his hair had grown into a long mullet that rested against his neck. His coworkers became concerned, but they knew what you did for work and didn’t question him on it.
The fifth month, his appetite disappeared completely. He couldn’t eat without you, he couldn’t complete a meal without you. Every time he looked in the mirror, he got skinnier and skinnier. His skin paled, and after a while, he stopped checking. He shattered the mirrors in the home, hating how he looked. He wondered how you’d react if he found out he wasn’t taking care of himself. He felt ashamed of his appearance, how empty he became without you. He wanted you to come home soon, but he didn’t rush you. He knew how sensitive your work was, and he believed you’d come home soon.
Before the fifth month ended, black cars pulled into his driveway. He ran to the door, thinking you’d come home finally. After 𝘢𝘭𝘭 this time, you were finally home, you came home to him. But once he saw all the special agents get out, and he didn’t see you, he thought the worst. He saw the videos, you explained what happened when agents came to your home without you.
They sat him down in the living room, explained how greatly you performed. How you were such an asset to the agency, and how you were the best. How lucky the country was to have such a talented agent protecting them. But, the words fell on deaf ears. He felt like he was drowning, his chest was tight and there was a ringing in his ears.
“Agent Park Y/N is dead. I’m so sorry.” An agent spoke, and he felt sick. “Our agency is willing to cover the cost of anything you may need, and we have arranged the funds to plan their funeral, whenever you’re ready.” They continued, but he shook his head. “Get out. Get the hell out!” He screamed, standing up and throwing the side table down, shattering the glass.
The agents nodded and filed out of the home. Seonghwa went on a rampage, throwing everything in his reach. The vases you picked together were thrown against the wall, framed pictures of you both with friends and family were destroyed. Tears streamed down his face as he sobbed, blending in with the mess around him.
After a while, his tears slowed, and he managed to pull himself up to go to your bedroom. He opened the closet and pulled out a box. You had prepared him for this moment, although you both hoped and prayed it would never come. Inside the box were a few of your mementos, as well as a letter. You left a kiss on the outside with his favorite fragrance, it was a pinkish nude colored bottle and it smelled rice milk, peaches, and clean soap. The same one you wore to your first date, and on your wedding day, and he loved it. He bought bottles every time you ran out.
He opened the letter, and out fell pictures you captured. Some without his knowledge. A picture of your first Valentine’s Day together, a picture of him you captured while he read, which he didn’t know you took. So many pictures of each other on your wedding day, all in selfie form. And finally, a more recent picture from your five year anniversary, one you guys had taken by a random stranger in Bali. More tears fell from his sunken eyes, but he pulled himself together to read the contents of the letter.

He finished the letter, running his fingers delicately over the dried out tear drops you left. His began dripping onto the paper, and he hugged it against his chest tightly, letting out loud cries as he finally realized it was happening.
He staggered to the kitchen, clutching your letter tightly in his fist. He dug through the cabinets, looking for something. He had this planned for a while, ever since he found out you could be killed in your line of work. He couldn’t accept that you were gone.
He opened the jug of cyanide and began chugging. It was disgusting, and his body immediately tried to reject it. He choked on it, but kept his hand over his mouth. Minutes passed and the onset of symptoms began. The dizziness, the vomiting, full of his blood, the shortness of breath. Then, he finally fell against the floor. With what little consciousness he had, he held the letter to his nose and inhaled. The scent of you brought him a bit of comfort as he passed out. And eventually, death overcame him too.
It was dark, he was surrounded by darkness. He wasn’t used to it, he couldn’t see anything in front of him. Was this the afterlife? Was he really dead?
“What are you doing here?” He heard your voice, and he turned until he found your frame, illuminating a white light. You were wearing a similar outfit that you went on a date in. A sweater, some jeans, and white socks. He ran over and engulfed you in a hug. “Oh star, I couldn’t be without you.” He cried into your shoulder, and you were stunned. You slowly lifted your arms to hug him, you couldn’t believe he was there.
You clenched the fabric of his top tightly, pulling him in close. “But if you’re here, that means that…Oh, my love.” You realize the lengths he had gone through to be with you again, and it bought tears to your eyes. You were both still, embracing each other, never thinking you’d see each other again so soon.
“I missed you.” He whispered, and you nod. “I missed you most. Are you ready?” You asked him, and he took your hand, and you both disappeared into the light.

Love language- Criminal Minds.
Summary: After a rough week, the family comes over for dinner.
Warnings: Mentions of a bad case, little angsty.
Pairing: David Rossi x fem!reader.
Word count: 1,099.
Translation: Ciao bella- Hi beautiful. Amore mio- My love. Mia famiglia- My family. Bella- Beautiful. Amore- Love.
Tumblr media
"Ciao Bella," My head shot up to meet my husband's eyes as he all but crawled into our home. "How was your day?" The small talk didn't fool me, I knew it had been a rough week from the messages he has sent me.
"Better than yours I imagine, Amore Mio." I teased, taking his jacket from his hand and throwing it onto the sofa. "How did the case go?"
"Hmm, we managed to get him but not before he killed two more people." That explained why he seemed so defeated.
"Oh Dave," I pulled him closer to me. "You couldn't have stopped it from happening. You all did your best."
"I know, I know." He sighed heavily, holding me to his chest as he pressed a kiss to my head. "I invited the team over for dinner, figured they needed a pick me up after this week.
"That's sweet of you," I was more than happy to have his team over, they were family after all. "What do we need to get ready then?" I indulged in his plan. His love language was cooking for people. A good meal after a gruelling case was his remedy for everything and if he could help his team feel better by feeding them then he would happily do it.
I watched as he fixed up all his ingredients, a glass of scotch on the worktop for a relaxant whilst he waited for the team to arrive. We always loved having them around, the team were David's family and thus my family too, I loved them all just like he did.
Everyone began to arrive at around half past 6 once they had been home and cleaned up, leaving the kids with sitters for one more evening. Spencer arrived first, a tired smile on his face as I opened the door, pulling him into a hug without hesitation. For someone who didn't do physical contact, I couldn't help but feel overjoyed when he melted into my arms a little.
JJ and Emily turned up together, smiles entirely contradicting the dark circles under their eyes as they engaged in a general conversation and said hello to the others. Aaron had his usual stern, tired face on but smiled slightly when I let him in, taking his coat and hugging him.
"Just Derek and Penelope to arrive," Aaron handed me a glass of wine as we all sat in the living room. "How has Dave been since he got back?" His voice lowered as my eyes flickered to my husband.
"He's been okay, exhausted like the rest of you but," I paused, sighing a little. "I think it just gets to him when he feels like he hasn't done enough to save someone. I try to explain that you all do your best but some things just happen that we can't help, unfortunately." I bit my cheek as I placed my hand on his shoulder gently. "You all do an amazing but formidable job, I think sometimes you just struggle to see the good outweighs the bad." There was no denying my love language was physical touch, a good hug could fix a world of problems in my opinion.
"I think we do,' He muttered, face changing to a slight smile as he looked down at me. "You always know what to say Y/N." I chuckled and nodded seriously, it was my job to do what I could to help. Even if it was just words to some.
A knock on the door dragged us out of our thoughts and I pulled myself out o my seat. A very smiley Penelope bounced on the balls of her feet as the door swung open and I managed to squeeze out a hello before she practically threw her arms around me.
"Ohh it's been too long, you look amazing Y/N!" I laughed at her energy, as infectious as always.
"Thank you, Penelope, you look beautiful, new dress?" Her eyes sparkled behind her glasses as she twirled a little for me. "Hello Derek, you scrub up well." I motioned to the shirt he was wearing as he kissed my cheek.
"You know I have to keep the ladies entranced somehow." I rolled my eyes at him playfully and closed the door behind the pair before grabbing them their own drink. Conversation flowed easily in the living room as I popped in and out with David, getting lost in jokes and normal life, watching the tension ease from each person as they felt comfortable and relaxed.
"Come on Mia Famiglia, time to eat." David clapped his hands together, calling them for dinner as I finished setting the dining table. A sea of smiling faces walked through and took a seat and as we all settled down I couldn't help the full, joyful feeling in my chest.
The meal was spent laughing and joking with each other. A conversation about their work never came up, they needed a break from it, to say the least, but we filled the time with memories and general topics like the children and how I may or may not have gone on a shopping spree for Henry and Jack (again).
By the end of the night, the team were much more relaxed, a few were even slightly tipsy but overall much better than when they arrived.
As designated drivers, and parents, Aaron and JJ agreed to make sure everyone got home in one piece so we wrapped up the night with more hugs and warm goodbyes.
"Bella," David smiled at me through my dressing table mirror as I removed my jewellery. "Thank you so much for tonight." His hand wrapped over my shoulders as he kissed my head.
"Amore, you invited them, that was all you."
"But you make them comfortable and happy, they relax around you because they love you. It's not easy to get a room of FBI agents to stop being on edge all the time but you manage it so easily. Even Reid comes to you for a hug now, that's a huge achievement you know."
"They're my family too," I turned to face him, "I know it gets too much for all of you and I just want to make sure you can all let go every once in a while." I cupped his cheek as I stood up, "Even you have to relax David, don't hold a grudge against yourself." I cradled his head as our foreheads rested against each other.
"Thank you Y/N," he whispered, eyes closed as he relaxed into the moment.
"Anytime Amore, Anytime."

Wraiths of the Past
Ghost x GN!Reader callsign Wraith
Tumblr media
cw: character death (not Ghost), angst, the supernatural
summary: A Wraith visits Ghost when he cannot find solace after a botched mission.
1.1k // M // masterlist
notes: Reader is referred to by they/them; Reader is referenced to have a small stature; it's platonic I guess?, Reader is dead the whole time, they're just a ghostie themselves
a/n: this is the second version of the story. Ghost got scared in the first draft, I had to redo it.
Ghost didn't leave home base.
As soon as the plane touched down, a heavy feeling settled in his stomach. The day went by and the feeling didn't ease, no. It became something tight, a heavy knot he carried around for days more, weighing down on him like a parasite attached to his very soul.
Finally, days later, he dragged himself down to the empty gym at two in the morning, when sleep escaped him for the third time that night.
One sore spot, he couldn't quite remedy with a few warmups.
On the last mission, he fell particularly hard as a glass roof collapsed under him and another few soldiers in a grenade blast. Among those soldiers was Wraith.
Wraith.
Wraith, who had become his - dare he say - acquaintance during the time they were a part of his smaller circle. They never made it to the 141, but they were an honourary member.
And now they lay in an induced coma somewhere not even in the country; too weak to be transported from the base they had to rush them after the fall, and the eventual failure of the mission.
Wraith… They were a presence. Their voice never became agitated, worked up, or even; happy. They were but a shade, lurking in unknown corners of the base, always seemingly hiding something Ghost couldn't quite make sense of. A soul akin to his, it felt like for him.
When he approached Wraith alone for the first time, he noticed they carried a strange air of unease. He never dared to talk to them alone again about anything other than lighthearted topics or professional matters, not for his but for their peace of mind. They almost seemed fragile off the battlefield, as if a gust of wind could knock them over.
But when it came to action, Wraith never missed. Deathly precision and the faint sound of the reaper lurking followed him around. A silent executioner, who could rarely spare a few words for fellow operators; but when they did, it hit the spot.
"Great hit."
"Flawless."
And the most curious remark Ghost had ever gotten from them:
"The Wraith approves."
Not bothering to turn on any lights, he maneuvered skillfully through the large room to the barbell rack.
Familiar warmth spread in his body as he rolled his neck once more, and settled for weighed squats. A strange sense of sudden emptiness hollowed his insides and even robbed him of that tight knot deep in his gut. Still, he pressed on and finished the set.
"Careless." A murky voice called from somewhere as he lowered himself to start the second set after a short rest.
Quickly, he picked his head up and trailed the voice to the half-open door of the gym.
Wraith was standing in the door, form leaning against the frame.
"You're back on your feet?" He asked somewhat confused, not being able to notice any crutches, bandages, or casts on the fragile body that was Wraith's. But he found no telling sign of a blinding white piece of bandage of the otherwise dark and shrouded figure.
"You are too." They dodged the question. "It's the dead of night, Ghost. Why aren't you in bed?"
He rolled his eyes and pressed on with the set, thighs lightly trembling under the navy sweats.
"Listen…" Wraith remained in the inky shadows, body seemingly phasing in and out of existence, as the shadows played tricks with Ghost's eyes. "There's something about the mission I need you to know."
Ghost picked his head up, and tried focusing on Wraith's figure while finishing the set.
"The mission is a bust. Haven't you read the briefs?" He scoffed and put the barbell back on a rack.
"It's not a bust." Their head swayed lightly, reflecting moonlight sparkling at Ghost as he looked for Wraith's gaze. "The intel is still there. I saw it. The whole server…"
"Why didn't you grab it then?" He fixed his gaze on the shadowy form that was Wraith's body and tilted his head in question. "If it's so easy. Besides, they could have moved it… It's not rocket science, that we were after the server, Wraith."
"You have to believe me, it's still there." Wraith's voice was insistent and emotional, something Ghost couldn't remember hearing before from them.
"Wraith…" He sat down on the dark leather cushion of the bench press. Thoughts swirled around in his head, and disbelief was getting the better of him.
"Yes, Ghost?"
"Is this a hallucination?" Ghost looked Wraith in the eye, as much as he could, finding the dark speckles around them disconcerting.
Silence.
"No," Wraith responded. "but I do need you to know something."
"Entertain me." He responded flatly.
"Price is going to call you in the morning, when he gets the news."
"News?"
"Go back for the server, Ghost, it's still there. They think we destroyed it. They're making a new one, with new code, new everything. You won't be able to crack that for a long time. Take this one. Please."
Wraith's voice almost pleaded. They remained in the doorway, body hiding in the thick shadow of the hallway.
"Wraith, I can't go off on your word. Tell it to Price yourself, see if he believes you."
Wraith chuckled, a sound with which Ghost was unfamiliar with yet again.
"But you do believe me, don't you?"
"Wraith…"
"Tell me."
"I want to."
"See?" They tutted with an audible smirk, which Ghost couldn't see from his vantage point.
Steps echoed outside, in the hallway, and Ghost registered Wraith's head turn in the direction of the footsteps, before they vanished from the doorway into the darkness.
Ghost recognized the footsteps as Price's, and looked up at him when he peeked in the room. His eyes were puffy from sleeping, hair toussled, and he only had a shirt and loose sweats on.
"It's the witchin' hour, boss."
"Wraith's dead." Price replied in a flat tone, and pushed in the door.
"What?" Ghost stood up. He and Price stood for a moment in silence in the large room.
"But we got some shaky intel that the server wasn't moved. At least nobody's spotted it outside the compound."
"It's still there." Ghost replied in an instant, staring at the floor.
"M-what?" Price asked, arms crossed, also focused on a spot on the vinyl.
"It's in there. They haven't moved it, I don't think." He added the last part of the sentence a second after. "When did the base call?"
"'bout Wraith?"
Ghost nodded and hummed.
"Few minutes ago. Mustn't have happened longer than thirty minutes. They said the trauma was just too much and too severe."
"I want to get back, first thing in the morning, Price." Ghost looked up at his Captain, eyes almost pleading behind his mask.
"If you're sure."
"Haven't been more sure about anything in a long time, boss."
Price put his hand on Ghost's shoulder as he walked past the Captain. "I like your thinking. The Wraith would approve."
"They did." He muttered from the doorway and disappeared into the pitch-blackness of the empty corridor.

Whumpuary 2024 Day 6
6. (Jan 11-12) Exhaustion / Blindfolded / Old Injuries
Barry Bluejeans was a strong man. Well, maybe not physically, but mentally he was strong. He could calculate the rate of necrotic damage at any skill level of a warlock. He could measure the precise amount of hair that he could grow on his chin in three days. He knew he was smart and therefore strong.
On the other hand, emotionally? He wasn’t very strong in that area.
For a man so strong in logic, he couldn’t understand how emotions continued to break him down. He knew, logically, that the night terrors weren’t real. He knew they just weren’t feasible any longer. There’s no Hunger, no threat to their plane of existence. No grand relics and no war. Nevertheless, he found himself waking up from night terrors long after everything started to settle down. The first two nights were fairly easy to keep under wraps. Barry had suffered from them before, but it had been months since his last one. Lup shook him awake on the third night after she found Barry crying out for her in their bed.
After that night, he was determined to try and stop the nightmares from happening. Barry turned to his strength - his books - and started studying. He dove into logical explanations and jotted down notes about night terrors. He started coming up with a plan to build another body tank, just in case they needed it. He also read up on potions and home remedies for night terrors. Anything he felt the need to study, he'd drag out the chore into hours of reading and notes.
To further keep from falling asleep, he hung out with the twins and Kravitz who never needed to sleep. Taako and Lup were Twosun elves, which means they did sleep occasionally, they just didn't need it as often as humans. Lup used to be a lich and didn't need sleep, but since she gained her body back Barry found her catching up on that sleep a lot. Mostly with Taako at her side, the other times with himself. Kravitz was, of course, the Grimm Reaper. Not needing sleep is pretty much given to him. So Barry ended up spending nights at a time just chatting with the three of them in their shared living room.
One night of studying night terrors turned to two, turned to three.
On the fourth night, Lup walks in on Barry barely keeping it together in the lab.
“Babe, how long has it been since you’ve slept?” Lup asks as she moseys over to her husband at his desk.
“Mm…” Barry mutters as he stares into a microscope at his latest project. Lup leans over his shoulder and reads some unintelligible scribble on one of the microscope slides. She can’t tell what he’s studying, but he’s definitely staring intently at something.
“What are you looking at, Bluejeans?” Lup muses as she pokes his cheek.
He rouses and backs up to look at his wife. “M’spit” he mumbles and rubs at his eyes.
“Bear, why the fuck are you studying your spit?”
“There’s somethin’ in it…” Barry removes his hands to reveal his eyes have deep dark circles under them.
Lup grimaces slightly at the state of her husband and sighs. “Pack it up there, Bear. Time for bed.”
“No, I’m studying, I promise I'm fine. I’m just not done yet.” Barry sounds like a small child insisting he can stay up late. Lup reaches out to take Barry’s glasses gently off of his face, earning a protest from the man. She knows he can't do shit without them. “Lup, please. I’m not done.”
“And I’m not kidding, Barry. You’re exhausted, look at yourself.”
“Lup, I’m not tired!” Barry shouts, glaring up at the elf. His angry expression falls instantaneously when he sees Lup is taken aback by his outburst. “I-I’m sorry, I just… I…”
Lup gently folds Barry’s glasses and sets them on the desk. “I’m going to pretend you didn’t just hurt my feelings… I need you to be honest with me, babe. When’s the last time you slept?” She crosses her arms and leans against the desk, staring down at Barry.
Likewise, Barry stares up at her, a nervous energy vibrating through him. Should he be honest? Could he even lie about it at this point? Lup looks pretty when she’s mad…
“Four…” is all Barry can make out before he breaks the eye contact and rubs his face again.
“Four what? Hours?”
“Days…”
There’s an uncomfortable silence in the room as Barry’s hands don’t leave his face. Lup wants to yell. Scream at Barry for doing this to himself. Yeah, they were reapers, but he was still a human in a squishy, human, sleep-deprived body that needed sleep. Lup wants to yell, but instead, she sits for a moment and then lets out the most controlled sigh before standing up straight.
“C’mon, Bear.” Lup takes his hands and moves them from his face.
Barry sniffles and obliges, trying his damndest to not look Lup in the eye. He stands when Lup tugs at his arms to pull him up. She doesn’t let go as she leads Barry away from the lab, away from the basement, away from the living room. When they reach the bedroom, Barry starts to weep openly and it breaks Lup’s heart.
“Talk to me, babe. What’s going on?” Lup pulls Barry into her arms, gentle hands rubbing his back.
“I can’t do it, Lup… I don’t wanna sleep. It hurts too much.”
“Hurts?” Lup questions, a hand gently raking through Barry’s thick brown hair.
“The nightmares… They keep– keep taking you from me.” His side of the hug turns to trembling as he uses all his depleted strength to hug Lup. “I don’t wanna lose you again.”
Lup holds her husband in her arms as tears prick at the edges of her vision. She knows what she did to him hurt Barry. She knows this is her fault, that he’s going through unimaginable trauma. Lup pulls away from the hug and leads Barry to bed, sitting him down on the edge. She looks him in the eye, a serious look on her face.
“I’m not going anywhere, Barry Bluejeans… I love you, and I’m not leaving you, never again. I swear.”
Barry nods and rubs at the tears across his cheeks. “That’s just it, I-I know you’re not gonna go anywhere. My subconscious is just having… having a hard time catching up.”
Lup smiles softly and kneels down, taking off Barry’s shoes and socks. “Then we’ll teach it. You love learning, babe. You can learn to tell your brain to shut up. You’re strong like that.”
Barry sniffles and smiles slightly at that statement. He doesn’t feel like he can be strong like that right now, but Lup’s words are encouraging.
“Tonight though,” Lup states as she helps Barry into the covers. “Tonight, you are allowed to be weak. I’ll be here to be strong for you.” Lup climbs into bed with Barry and tucks herself beside him. “I’ll be here, Barry… I’m right here.”

Genetics:
Research suggests that dark circles can run in families.
Dermatitis:

Eye Rubbing:
Frequently rubbing or scratching your eyes can cause swelling and even break blood vessels, contributing to discoloration.
Lack of Sleep:
Poor sleep can cause the skin to appear paler, making blood vessels underneath more noticeable.
Hyperpigmentation:
Excess sun exposure stimulates melanin production, leading to darkened under-eye areas.
Dehydration:
However, hydration is important because it can cause the skin under the eyes to appear sunken and dull.
Lifestyle Factors:
Stress can contribute to the formation of dark circles. Because with stress your sleep will be disturbed and you get dark circles. How Can I Treat Dark Circles at Home? There are several home remedies that may help reduce the appearance of dark circles under your eyes, including:

Aim for at least seven hours of sleep each night to prevent under-eye shadows.
Use extra pillows:
Elevate your head while sleeping to prevent fluid buildup that can lead to puffiness.
Apply a cold compress:
Placing cold spoons or an ice pack over your eyes can help shrink blood vessels and reduce puffiness.
Try cucumbers:
Resting cucumber slices on your eyes can provide hydration and vitamin C, which may help reduce swelling.
Use tea bags:
Chilled tea bags contain caffeine and antioxidants that can promote circulation and brighten the under-eye area.
Get a facial massage:
Massaging the eye area during a facial can help improve blood flow.
Use makeup:
Concealers and foundation can help blend dark circles with your natural skin tone for a more even complexion.
Medical Treatment Options for Dark Circles For faster and more permanent solutions, consult a healthcare provider about professional treatments. Options include:
Topical creams and brightening agents:
Ingredients like vitamin C and hydroquinone can help lighten dark under-eye pigmentation.
Chemical peels
Alpha-hydroxy acid peels can reduce under-eye pigmentation and improve skin texture.
Laser therapy:
Noninvasive laser treatments, such as pulsed dye or diode lasers, can tighten and resurface the skin.
Tissue fillers:
Hyaluronic acid fillers can restore volume and smooth out the under-eye area.
Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty)
This procedure removes excess fat and skin to reduce puffiness and sagging.
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections:
PRP can stimulate collagen production and improve skin health. How to Prevent Dark Circle While dark circles can’t always be avoided, certain lifestyle adjustments may help minimize their appearance:
Protect your skin from the sun:
Apply sunscreen daily, especially around the eyes, and wear sunglasses.
Maintain a healthy sleep routine:
Aim for at least seven hours of quality sleep each night.
Manage stress:
Engage in self-care activities to help reduce stress levels.
Limit alcohol consumption:
Excessive drinking can affect circulation and worsen dark circles.
Quit smoking:
Smoking accelerates skin aging and can contribute to under-eye discoloration.
When Should You See a Healthcare Provider? In most cases, dark circles under the eyes are due to aging, lack of sleep, or other common factors and are not a cause for medical concern. However, if you notice dark circles or swelling under only one eye, it’s important to consult a healthcare provider. Top Solutions for Dark Circles Treatment in Delhi: Say Goodbye to Tired Eyes
Dark circles under the eyes are a common cosmetic concern for many people. They can make you appear tired, stressed, or older than your actual age. Whether caused by lack of sleep, genetics, or lifestyle factors, Dark Circles Treatment in Delhi offers a variety of effective solutions to help restore a fresh and youthful appearance to your eyes.
Understanding the Causes of Dark Circles Before discussing treatment options, it’s important to understand the common causes behind dark circles. Some of the most frequent factors include:
Genetics: For some people, dark circles are hereditary. The skin under the eyes may be thinner, allowing blood vessels to show through, creating a darker appearance.
Lack of Sleep: One of the leading causes of dark circles is insufficient sleep. When you don’t get enough rest, your skin becomes paler, and the blood vessels under your eyes become more noticeable.
Aging: As we age, the skin loses collagen and becomes thinner, which can cause dark circles to become more prominent. The reduction in collagen and elastin makes the under-eye area more susceptible to pigmentation.
Dehydration: Not drinking enough water can lead to dehydration, which results in dull skin and the visibility of dark circles.
Allergies: Allergies often cause puffiness and inflammation under the eyes, which can also contribute to dark circles. Effective Dark Circles Treatment in Delhi
If you are struggling with dark circles and are looking for a solution, Dark Circles Treatment in Delhi offers several options, depending on the severity and cause of your condition. Here are some of the best treatments available:
Laser Treatments: Laser treatment is one of the most effective methods for treating dark circles. It works by targeting the skin’s pigmentation and stimulating collagen production. Laser treatments improve blood circulation, which helps reduce the dark appearance under the eyes. Over time, this treatment can significantly lighten the skin and restore a natural, youthful glow.
Under Eye Fillers: If your dark circles are caused by hollow eyes or volume loss, Under Eye Dark Circles Treatment in Delhi using dermal fillers can be a great solution. Fillers are injected into the under-eye area to restore volume, making the skin appear smoother and plumper. This procedure also reduces the shadow effect, improving the overall appearance of the eyes.
Chemical Peels: Chemical peels are a popular choice for treating pigmentation under the eyes. This treatment involves applying a special solution to exfoliate the skin, removing dead cells and promoting the growth of fresh, healthy skin. Chemical peels help lighten the dark pigmentation, giving you a more even-toned complexion under your eyes.
Microneedling: Microneedling is another effective treatment for dark circles. During this procedure, tiny needles are used to create micro-injuries on the skin, which stimulates collagen production. As a result, the skin under the eyes becomes thicker and more rejuvenated, helping to reduce the appearance of dark circles over time.
Home Remedies and Lifestyle Changes: While professional treatments are more effective, there are also home remedies you can try to reduce dark circles. Applying chilled cucumber slices, aloe vera gel, or cold compresses can temporarily soothe and refresh the under-eye area. Additionally, making sure you get adequate sleep, stay hydrated, and protect your skin from the sun can help improve the appearance of dark circles.
Why Choose Dark Circles Treatment in Delhi? Delhi offers access to top-notch dermatologists and skincare clinics that specialize in treating dark circles. Whether you are looking for a non-invasive procedure like chemical peels or a more advanced option like laser treatment, there are plenty of choices available to suit your needs. Consulting a professional will ensure that you get the most effective treatment for your skin type and condition.
Conclusion
Dark circles may seem like a minor issue, but they can have a significant impact on your appearance. Fortunately, Dark Circles Treatment in Delhi offers a variety of options to help you achieve a brighter, more youthful look. From laser treatments to under-eye fillers and chemical peels, you can find the perfect solution to say goodbye to those tired eyes. Dark Circles: Understanding, Remedies, and Prevention with Be Beautiful
Dark circles are a common concern for many people and are often misunderstood as a flaw. However, these shadows under our eyes are natural and not inherently bad. They can mean stress, genetics, or lifestyle habits, but they are not something to be ashamed of. Be Beautiful is here to acknowledge the reality of dark circles and provide a comprehensive guide on remedies, prevention, and dietary tips to address them.
Understanding Dark Circles
Dark circles are darkened skin under the eyes, which can occur for a number of reasons.
Genetics: Some people are predisposed to dark circles due to hereditary factors.
Lack of sleep: Insufficient rest can make the skin look pale, emphasizing the blood vessels under the eyes.
Aging: As we age, the skin thins, making dark circles more prominent.
Lifestyle Choices: Excessive screen time, dehydration, and poor diet can all contribute to their appearance.
Allergies: Allergic reactions can cause you to rub your eyes, leading to pigmentation.
Be Beautiful emphasizes that while dark circles are natural, addressing the underlying causes can improve your appearance and boost confidence.
How to Reduce Dark Circles
1. Home Remedies
Natural remedies can be effective in lightening dark circles. Be Beautiful recommends the following:
Cucumber Slices: Known for their cooling properties, cucumber slices can soothe the skin and reduce puffiness.
Chilled Tea Bags: Green or black tea bags chilled in the refrigerator can be placed over the eyes to constrict blood vessels and lighten the area.
Aloe Vera Gel: Rich in vitamins and antioxidants, aloe vera moisturizes and nourishes the skin.
Potato Juice: Potatoes have natural bleaching properties that can help lighten dark circles.
Rose Water: Soak cotton pads in rose water and place them over your eyes for a refreshing treatment.
2. Lifestyle Changes
Small adjustments in daily habits can make a big difference. Be Beautiful encourages the following changes:
Improve sleep hygiene: Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night.
Stay Hydrated: Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day to maintain skin elasticity.
Reduce Screen Time: Limit exposure to screens and take regular breaks to rest your eyes.
Avoid rubbing your eyes: This can damage the delicate skin and worsen pigmentation.
Use Sunscreen: Protecting the under-eye area from UV rays can prevent darkening.
3. Skin Care Products
Investing in the right products can help significantly. Be Beautiful suggests looking for products that contain:
Vitamin C – brightens and evens skin tone.
Hyaluronic Acid – keeps the under-eye area hydrated.
Retinol – increases collagen production and reduces fine lines.
Caffeine – reduces puffiness and improves circulation.
Dietary Tips for a Healthier Under-Eye Area
What you eat plays a crucial role in skin health. Be Beautiful highlights the importance of incorporating these foods into your diet:
Green Leafy Vegetables – spinach and kale are rich in iron, which helps reduce dark circles caused by anemia.
Fruits Rich in Vitamin C – oranges, strawberries, and kiwis support collagen production.
Nuts and Seeds – almonds and sunflower seeds contain vitamin E, which protects the skin.
Omega-3 Fatty Acids – found in salmon and walnuts, they improve circulation.
Hydrating foods – Cucumbers, watermelons and celery keep skin hydrated. The Emotional Impact of Dark Circles
While dark circles are a natural occurrence, they can sometimes affect a person's self-esteem. Be Beautiful recognizes this and aims to raise awareness that beauty is not defined by perfection. Embracing imperfections and working on self-care can change the way we perceive ourselves and boost confidence.
1. Embrace Natural Beauty
Be Beautiful encourages everyone to embrace and celebrate their natural features. Dark circles are not a flaw, but a reflection of individual experiences. By recognizing this, you can approach skincare with positivity and patience.
2. The Role of Makeup
For those who prefer to conceal dark circles, makeup can be a wonderful tool. Be Beautiful recommends light, color-based concealers to achieve a fresh, radiant look without compromising skin health.
3. Mindfulness Practices
Stress significantly contributes to dark circles. Practicing mindfulness, yoga, or meditation can reduce stress levels and improve overall well-being. Be Beautiful advocates a holistic approach to skin care that includes mental and emotional care.
Additional Remedies for Stubborn Dark Circles
While natural remedies and lifestyle changes work for most, some people may require advanced treatments. Be Beautiful provides information on alternative options:
1. Dermal Fillers
For those with dark circles, dermal fillers can help restore volume and reduce the appearance of dark circles. Be Beautiful suggests consulting a dermatologist to determine if this option is right for you.
2. Laser Therapy
Laser treatments can target pigmentation and stimulate collagen production, making the under-eye area look brighter. Be Beautiful emphasizes the importance of choosing a licensed professional for such procedures.
3. Chemical Peels
Mild chemical peels can help exfoliate the skin and reduce pigmentation. Be Beautiful recommends using dermatologist-recommended products to avoid irritation.
Skincare Routines for Long-Term Results
Consistency is key to achieving healthier skin. Be Beautiful outlines a simple yet effective skincare routine to reduce dark circles:
Morning Routine
Cleanse: Use a gentle cleanser to remove impurities.
Moisturize: Apply a hydrating serum with hyaluronic acid.
Protect: Use sunscreen with at least SPF 30 to protect the delicate under-eye area from UV damage.
Nighttime Routine
Makeup Removal: Always remove makeup before bed to prevent clogged pores.
Nourish: Apply an eye cream containing retinol or vitamin C.
Hydrate: Use a nourishing moisturizer to keep skin hydrated overnight.
The Connection Between Sleep and Skin Health
Sleep is often referred to as “beauty sleep” for a reason. Be Beautiful highlights the importance of quality sleep to reduce dark circles and maintain overall skin health. When you sleep, your body repairs damaged cells and produces collagen, which keeps skin firm and youthful. Establishing a consistent sleep schedule can make a noticeable difference.
How Stress Affects Dark Circles?
Stress not only affects mental health, but it also manifests physically, even exacerbating dark circles. Be Beautiful recommends incorporating stress-relieving activities such as journaling, deep breathing, and engaging in hobbies to minimize its effects on the skin.
The Importance of Staying HydratedDehydration is a common, but overlooked, cause of dark circles. Be Beautiful recommends drinking plenty of water throughout the day to maintain skin elasticity and reduce puffiness. Herbal teas and water-rich fruits can also contribute to hydration.
By adopting these practices and adopting a healthier lifestyle, you can work to reduce the appearance of dark circles. Be Beautiful believes in empowering people to take charge of their skin health and feel confident in their own beauty.

Why Do Dark Circles Appear?
Before we dive into the solutions, it’s important to understand the reasons behind dark circles. The skin under your eyes is the thinnest skin on your body, making it prone to discoloration, puffiness, and irritation. The most common causes of dark circles include:
Genetics: If your family has a history of dark circles, you might be predisposed to them as well.
Lack of Sleep: Poor sleep or insomnia can cause your skin to become pale, making dark circles more visible.
Aging: As you age, the skin under your eyes becomes thinner, and the blood vessels beneath the surface become more prominent, leading to dark circles.
Stress and Fatigue: Emotional and physical stress can contribute to tired eyes and under-eye discoloration.
Dehydration: When your body is dehydrated, your skin loses its natural glow, leading to dark circles.
Allergies: Allergic reactions can trigger inflammation and puffiness around the eyes, causing dark circles to form.
Sun Exposure: Prolonged exposure to the sun can increase melanin production, leading to pigmentation around the eyes.
Understanding these causes will help you tackle dark circles more effectively using natural remedies.
Natural Remedies to Remove Dark Circles
In this section, we’ll explore some of the most effective home remedies that can help reduce dark circles in just one week.
1. Cucumber Slices
Cucumbers are a popular remedy for dark circles because of their hydrating and cooling properties. They help to reduce puffiness, brighten the skin, and tighten the area around your eyes.
How to Use:
Slice a cucumber into thin rounds.
Chill them in the refrigerator for about 10-15 minutes.
Place the chilled cucumber slices on your closed eyelids and leave them on for 10-15 minutes.
Repeat this process twice a day for the best results.
The high water content in cucumbers helps hydrate the skin, while antioxidants such as vitamin C and caffeic acid reduce puffiness.
2. Cold Compress
A cold compress is one of the simplest and quickest ways to reduce the appearance of dark circles and puffiness. Cold temperatures constrict the blood vessels under your skin, reducing swelling and inflammation.
How to Use:
Wrap ice cubes in a clean cloth or use a chilled spoon.
Gently press the compress on your eyes for 10-15 minutes.
Repeat this process twice a day.
For added benefits, you can use chilled green tea bags or a gel eye mask.
3. Potato Juice
Potatoes contain natural bleaching agents that can lighten dark circles and reduce pigmentation. They also have anti-inflammatory properties that help to soothe tired eyes.
How to Use:
Grate a raw potato and extract the juice.
Soak a cotton ball in the juice and apply it to the dark circles.
Leave it on for 10-15 minutes before rinsing with cool water.
Repeat this once or twice a day for a week.

2. Stay Hydrated
Dehydration can cause your skin to appear dull and tired, accentuating the appearance of dark circles. Drinking enough water throughout the day will help maintain healthy, glowing skin.
3. Eat a Balanced Diet
A healthy diet rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants can help improve skin health. Include foods like leafy greens, berries, citrus fruits, and nuts to nourish your skin from the inside out. Vitamin C-rich foods, in particular, help in collagen production, keeping your skin firm and reducing dark circles.
4. Reduce Stress
Stress can lead to poor sleep and make your dark circles worse. Try incorporating relaxation techniques into your daily routine, such as meditation, yoga, or deep breathing exercises. Managing stress will have a positive impact on your skin’s health.
5. Use Sunscreen
Excessive sun exposure can cause pigmentation around your eyes, making dark circles more pronounced. Always apply sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher to protect your skin from harmful UV rays.
Conclusion
Dark circles under the eyes can be frustrating, but with the right natural remedies and lifestyle changes, you can significantly reduce their appearance in just one week. Understanding Dry Eye Syndrome: Causes, Symptoms, and Treatments
Tumblr media
What is Dry Eye Syndrome?
Dry eye syndrome occurs when your eyes don’t produce enough quality tears to lubricate them properly. Tears play a crucial role in maintaining healthy eyes by keeping the surface moist and clear. Without proper tear production, you can experience chronic eye discomfort.
Dry eye syndrome is classified under the ICD-10 code H04.12 for medical documentation and diagnosis.
Dry Eye Symptoms
Recognizing the symptoms of dry eye is the first step to addressing the condition. Common dry eye symptoms include:
Redness or irritation
Stinging or burning sensation
Feeling like there’s something in your eye
Blurry vision
Sensitivity to light
Watery eyes (as a response to dryness)
Causes of Dry Eyes
Several factors can contribute to dry eyes, including:
Age: Tear production declines with age.
Environmental conditions: Wind, smoke, and dry climates can cause tears to evaporate.
Prolonged screen use: Staring at screens for long periods reduces blinking, leading to eye dryness.
Medications: Certain medications, including antibiotics, can cause dry eyes.
Can antibiotics cause dry eyes? Yes, antibiotics like antihistamines and decongestants may reduce tear production, leading to dry eyes.
Best Eye Drops for Dry Eyes
One of the most effective treatments for dry eyes is the use of eye drops for dry eyes. There are several types of eye drops available:
Artificial eye drops for dry eyes: These mimic natural tears and provide immediate relief. They’re ideal for mild cases.
Best dry eye drops in India: Brands like Refresh Tears and Systane Ultra are popular options for individuals seeking relief in India.
Best eye drops for dry eyes: Depending on your condition, you may need preservative-free or lubricating eye drops recommended by a doctor.
If you wear contact lenses, it’s important to choose the best treatment for dry eyes with contacts that won’t interfere with your lenses. Specialized rewetting drops can help keep your eyes comfortable throughout the day.

Causes of Dry Eye Disease Explained by Dr. Hayat Khan — Consultant Ophthalmologist at Fakeeh University Hospital Dubai
How to Cure Dry Eyes Permanently?
While permanent cures for dry eyes may not be possible in all cases, lifestyle changes and medical treatments can significantly improve the condition. Here are some tips:
Use a humidifier: Adding moisture to the air can prevent your tears from evaporating too quickly.
Take breaks from screen time: Follow the 20–20–20 rule to prevent strain on your eyes.
Omega-3 supplements: These can help boost tear production naturally.
Prescription medications: In severe cases, a doctor may prescribe medications that increase tear production or reduce inflammation.
Home Remedies for Dry Eyes
In addition to artificial tear drops, several home remedies for dry eyes can offer relief:
Warm compresses: Applying a warm, moist cloth to your eyes can help unclog tear glands and improve tear flow.
Massage your eyelids: Gently massaging your eyelids can stimulate tear production.
Use eyelid wipes: Keeping your eyelids clean can prevent blockages in the oil glands that contribute to dry eyes.
Dry Skin Around Eyes: Causes and Remedies
Sometimes, dry skin around the eyes or dry skin under eyes can accompany dry eye syndrome, causing discomfort and flakiness. The delicate skin around your eyes needs special care. Using the best eye cream for dry skin and dark circles can help hydrate and restore the skin. Look for creams that contain hyaluronic acid, glycerin, and natural oils.
Blocked Tear Ducts and Dry Eyes
A blocked tear duct can cause dry eyes because it prevents tears from draining properly, leading to irritation. If you suspect a blocked tear duct, consult an eye specialist for treatment options, which may include warm compresses or surgery.
Treatment Options for Dry Eyes
Effective dry eye treatment depends on the underlying cause and severity of the condition. Common treatments include:
Artificial tears or lubricating eye drops
Prescription medications to reduce inflammation or stimulate tear production
Punctal plugs to keep tears on the eye surface for longer
In chronic cases, surgery may be an option to address underlying structural issues, such as a blocked tear duct.
ICD-10 Code for Dry Eye Syndrome
For medical purposes, dry eye syndrome is identified with the ICD-10 code H04.123. This code is used for documenting cases of dry eyes in medical records and insurance claims.

Top Tips for Reducing Dark Circles Around the Eyes
Dark circles under the eyes are a common beauty concern that can affect anyone, often making us look tired or stressed. But what causes these circles, and how can we minimize them? In this article, we’ll explore the causes and share tips to reduce dark circles.
Causes of Dark Circles
Several factors contribute to dark circles, including:
Genetics: Inherited traits like thin skin or hyperpigmentation can make dark circles more prominent.
Lack of Sleep: Sleep deprivation can dull the skin and make blood vessels under the eyes more visible.
Aging: Thinner skin and the natural loss of collagen and fat as we age make dark circles more noticeable.
Allergies: Inflammation from allergies can cause puffiness and dark circles.
Sun Exposure: Too much sun can stimulate melanin production, leading to pigmentation.
Dehydration: Dry, sunken skin from lack of hydration can make dark circles worse.
1. Get Enough Sleep
The most effective remedy is ensuring 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night. Sleep allows your body and skin to repair. Creating a consistent sleep routine and calming bedtime habits can help improve both the quality and quantity of your rest, reducing the tired appearance.
2. Stay Hydrated
Dehydration makes skin appear dull and thin, which exaggerates dark circles. Drinking plenty of water throughout the day can plump the skin and reduce the visibility of blood vessels under your eyes. Aim for at least eight glasses of water daily to maintain optimal hydration.
3. Use a Cold Compress
Applying a cold compress can constrict blood vessels and reduce puffiness and dark circles. You can use chilled cucumber slices, cold spoons, or a gel eye mask. Fifteen minutes of cooling can significantly improve the under-eye area, reducing the appearance of dark circles.
4. Use Eye Creams with Key Ingredients
Eye creams designed to target dark circles can enhance your skincare routine. Look for ingredients like caffeine, vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and peptides. Caffeine constricts blood vessels, reducing puffiness, while vitamin C brightens and strengthens skin. Hyaluronic acid hydrates, and peptides boost collagen production. Brands like SkinGym offer products that focus on nourishing and brightening the delicate skin around the eyes.
5. Protect Your Skin from the Sun
Excessive sun exposure worsens pigmentation. Using a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30, especially around the eyes, is vital to protect your skin. Sunglasses can also shield the delicate eye area from harmful UV rays, preventing further pigmentation.
6. Try Tea Bags
Cooled tea bags, especially green tea, can be an effective natural remedy for dark circles. The caffeine and antioxidants in tea improve circulation and shrink blood vessels, reducing puffiness and discoloration. Simply place cooled, steeped tea bags over your eyes for 10-15 minutes.
7. Consider Professional Treatments
If home remedies aren't yielding results, professional treatments like chemical peels, laser therapy, or microneedling can improve skin texture and pigmentation around the eyes. Dermal fillers can also address under-eye hollows that cast shadows mimicking dark circles.
8. Address Allergies and Health Issues
If allergies are causing dark circles, treating the underlying issue is essential. Over-the-counter antihistamines can reduce allergy-related puffiness and dark circles. Iron deficiency can also contribute to the problem, so checking your levels and taking supplements if needed can help.
Conclusion
Dark circles can be frustrating, but with the right approach, they can be reduced or even eliminated. Whether you focus on improving sleep, hydration, and sun protection or use eye creams and professional treatments, consistency is key. With the right care, you can achieve a fresher, more youthful appearance.
