I'd been meaning to do more Wizard Tumblr Magic cards, but hadn't gotten around to it, but I… finally did, I guess. Anyway, here's a card featuring @wizard-eater.

I realized I'd forgotten to include the holostamp in the earlier cards, so I added that this time, and I figured I probably ought to include the URL of the Tumblr user the card is inspired by, so I did that too… although I'm not really happy with the placement; I'm going to try to figure out a better place for it.

(I do still intend to set up a Neocities page and put these cards, among other things, there, but I, uh, haven't gotten around to that yet either.)

As usual, this card has not been playtested, and I have no idea whether it's anywhere near balanced.

[OOC I haven't been on Tumblr in a while because I'm currently at Gen Con, and it's keeping me very busy. (For those who don't know what Gen Con is, it's a big game convention in Indianapolis.) I figured it would be thematically appropriate to post another Magic card while I'm here and managed to make time to do so, but I probably won't make another post until Monday when I'm back home.]

Un-question that's probably been asked before: for gameplay purposes, does the acorn holostamp count as a silver border for cards like Border Guardian?

It counts as silver-border card for cards that care about Un-cards (like Ass Whuppin’). Border Guardian is the one exception because it cares about literal border color not Un-ness, so it’s the one that doesn’t count an acorn as “silver bordered”.

Continuing the trend of people voicing complaints about HOU cards; opened a non-foil The Scorpion God in my booster box and noticed two errors with the card: -The card itself is miscut; the card's x-axis being higher than the norm (which is noticeable mostly from the holostamp being applied correctly). -The black ink on the card art is ridiculously high, with the detail on the shadowed (right) end of the art completely lost.

Could they do a special holostamp on non-booster cards so you can easily reference that? Something simple but easily discernible, like a line of non-holo down the middle of the current oval? Plus it’d be on cards of all rarities so that’d be a big give away for anything not rare. Or maybe it doesn’t matter as much for commons and uncommons.

I have a minor criticism of Dominaria United, that really only applies right now during preview season and probably won't come up in actual play at all. I'm primarily a standard and draft player, so the commander-specific cards aren't of much interest to me. In the past, it was really easy to tell when a card being previewed was one I should care about or not because all the commander-specific cards have a set symbol shaped like a shield, which is distinct from the standard-legal set symbol. Except, in Dominaria United, the set symbol is ALSO shaped like a shield, which makes sense lore-wise but makes it difficult to tell at a glance whether or not a card is something I should take note of for my preferred formats. Again, this isn't a major issue, just something I wanted to note because it's already causing some annoyance trying to sift through previews.
