My mom is losing her shit over Defying Gravity like yes mom this is why every gay in the 2000s loved this musical.

#anyway wicked was great #i know they cut it in half to milk more money but part of me says you just can't have defying gravity and not have a break after that #i wasn't happy with the vocals but that has nothing to do with the actors #i just hate how hollywood autotunes everything to hell #(especially considering the leads did NOT need it)#and records the vocals in a studio while letting the actors do the most unspirited lip-syncing known to man #that one wasn't really a problem here i could tell the actors WERE singing even if the audio was swapped with the studio recording #but some musicals it's REALLY obvious they're not actually singing #their mouths aren't open right to make those noises and they're not breathing properly #idk about all y'all but as a former choir nerd it's super noticeable to me and i can't unsee it #also i said that donnie wanted to play elphaba and i stand by that he would go absolutely fucking feral with this movie

just saw twisters and it's wild that every bit of promo and talk that I've seen about this film made me think glen powell was the lead when it is in fact definitively daisy edgar jones and he is actually the love interest

#it's definitely partly my own bias where i hear action movie and think macho hero #but also like all these articles about him being hollywood's new leading man etc??#it was a pleasant surprise to see the female character being the one who gets the development and saving the day #whilst he was largely undeveloped #it was a fun movie anyway but having an unexpected female lead made it so much better for me #talking #twisters
