It's been a while since I last touched my Darksiders/Hollow Knight crossover thingy. It's because I'm mostly out of ideas. I tried to do Avarice but I'm kinda scared where this is gonna go from the point I got to 😂
To fill in a hole, I give you a short backstory for Moth!Azrael (with Abaddon being mentioned there, of course).
Just a head's up, Azrael is sad. Very sad.
Out of all members of the long gone moth tribe, the powerful sorcerer Azrael was the most devoted to their Goddess, the Radiance. He used to teach hatchlings her ways and spread her religion wherever he went, acting kind of as her prophet. As long as the bugs of the land that would eventually become Hallownest remained in Radiance's grasp, primitive and following the basest of instincts, all linked to their hive mind, everything seemed to be just fine. But this serenity was abruptly broken by the arrival of the Pale King.
The Wyrm granted bugs the ability to formulate thoughts and a free will of their own. Not long after this, they started to turn their backs on the Radiance, choosing this new God, pale as moonlight, a stark contrast to the sun they used to revere. Eventually, even the moths abandoned her. All of them. Except for Azrael. Of course, possessing free will meant freedom of choice. And he chose the Radiance.
At first, the Goddess hid away, deep inside her Realm of Dreams, hurt and slowly fading as her followers left and forgot her. Azrael attempted to console her, assuring her that he's, after all, still there for her and that as long as he lives, so will she.
But it wasn't long before hurt turned into bitterness and bitterness into blind rage. Radiance unleashed the Infection upon Hallownest as an act of desperation and aggression against the Pale King. To say Azrael was horrified, would've been an understatement. The Goddess he knew his whole life, one who loved him like her own son, one he loved like his own mother (to some extent, she was his mother), transformed from the soft sunlight he trusted into a twisted monster blinded by spite, driven by vengeance against the Wyrm.
Azrael tried reasoning with the enraged Goddess but to no avail. Heartbroken and scared, he eventually left her side like all others have before him. His kind nature couldn't stand the atrocities committed in the name of petty revenge.
One day, the one who unintentionally angered the Radiance, extended his hand to Azrael and proposed an alliance, offering the depressed moth a way out of the hole he found himself in. Azrael reluctantly accepted and soon had a new purpose.
To some extent, Azrael recovered and even made some friends in the White Palace (Monomon and Quirrel were his fellow scholars and he enjoyed their company) as he attempted to aid the King in battling the Infection. The moth tribe began to die out until very few of them remained and Azrael was one of them.
Though he was utterly devoted to stopping the plague of the Old Light, his faith in the Pale Monarch faltered once he learned what the Wyrm intends to do to the silent child who one day returned to the Palace with him. And when he discovered what the King had done to create the Pure Vessel, the scholar was left heartbroken and betrayed once again but… Should he remain alone, he'd surely succumb to grief and fall down. Honestly, he couldn't decide which of the two was worse. A once loved Goddess driven mad by lust for vengeance after the loss of her children? Or the Pale Wyrm who was willing to sacrifice everything to achieve his goals? After some time with his thoughts, Azrael settled on the latter. The King at least had good intentions and wished to save Hallownest and his subjects, no matter the cost, while Radiance was forcing innocent bugs under her whim in hopes of reaching and getting rid of the Wyrm once and for all. Trying to seek out the Fallen Brother of the Radiance was out of question as Azrael had no wish to get involved in the affairs of the Nightmare King.
At some point in time, Azrael was approached by his friend, one of the generals of the Pale King, Abaddon. The other bug told the moth he was having dreams of searing light and a soft but spiteful voice calling him, telling him to "remember" and "destroy the Pale Usurper". First symptoms of the Infection.
Because Azrael was a moth, he knew a lot about the Dream Realm and even wielded a Dream Nail of his own. This is exactly the reason Abaddon came to him. No amount of convincing would dissuade the stubborn warrior from taking the steps against the source of the Infection that was the Radiance. Azrael eventually agreed to help, even though he knew his friend stood no chance against the Goddess. If they didn't do anything, he would meet fate worse than death but if he tried, he would surely perish. A lose-lose situation. However… if somehow, by a stroke of luck this mad plan succeeded.. It was worth a shot. If only to end the suffering and spare the Hollow Child from the torment awaiting them.
In secret from the King, Azrael and Abaddon retreated into the Resting Grounds where the veil between the Dreams and Reality is thin. Using herbs and magic, Azrael managed to project Abaddon's consciousness into the Dream Realm, first lending him all the strength he could spare.
His fears were unfortunately confirmed as not even two hours since falling asleep Abaddon suddenly started to convulse violently, shaking and letting out strained screams of pain. Radiance was undoubtedly winning. It was over in barely a minute. The unyielding warrior passed away on Azrael's hands before the moth had a chance to pull him back into the waking world.
Ashamed, devastated and terrified, Azrael laid his friend to rest in a grave beside his beloved who succumbed to the Infection long ago and returned to the White Palace. The King would've heard about it sooner or later. As expected, the Monarch was not pleased by the news. However, with how useful Azrael was, all Wyrm did to punish the moth for disobedience and indirectly causing the death of one of the most skilled warriors of Hallownest was forbid him from ever setting foot in the Palace again until he revokes this decision.
After this fiasco, the Infection seemed to be spreading even faster, decimating entire villages in merely a couple months. There was no way of stopping it. The only one who could make a difference was the teenage Pure Vessel. But they still needed time to grow up and finish their training.
Azrael spent about four days in exile before something strange happened. While he was at the Blue Lake to enjoy some peace and quiet, a sound of footsteps ripped him out of his silent musings. When he turned around, his heart skipped. He could've sworn he saw his deceased friend dart across the pathway to the Crossroads. Confused and apprehensive, Azrael decided to investigate. And that was a mistake.
Once the moth caught up with his friend who limped through the caverns, he realised what a fool he'd been as a single, orange eye glared at him beside a ruined, empty eye socket. Infected. But Abaddon - or rather his infested corpse - didn't charge at Azrael. With a disturbing, garbled voice, he told the moth that the Radiance wants to speak with him face-to-face. It didn't seem he had much choice. Using his Dream Nail, Azrael travelled to the Realm of his mistress. Soon, he found himself before his once beloved Goddess who pleaded for him to help her crush the Pale King. Return her children he'd taken from her. Azrael again tried to reason with her but still in vain. If anything, the Radiance decided sadly the King managed to corrupt even his once pure thoughts to turn him against her. But she neither killed nor Infected Azrael. She still loved him after all.
One of the last members of the moth tribe vanished without a trace, leaving the Pale Court in confusion. His spirit, trapped by his "mother" in the Dream Realm - as she hoped she will be able to eventually convince him to return to her side, to be her son again without forcing the Infection into his mind - remains shackled to the Dream without a chance for rescue. Azrael patiently awaits the end of the Infection, hoping that either Radiance will eventually let go, or the Pale King actually succeeds in defeating her for good. Until then, his body protected by a Seal of Binding - created by the Radiance herself - slumbers hidden away from the world under the supervision of the former Champion of the Wyrm, nobody (except for the Infected as they share the mind of the Old Light) knows where, waiting for someone to release him from the hold of the vengeful Goddess.

hello, me with a very vague fic prompt. i know you like got and star wars, have you ever been interested about how the dynamic would be if daenerys and kylo ren met? if it was your take, id die to know how you’d explore it. (if you’re interested in that dynamic of course!) like a one-shot, multiverse au? medieval kylo ren meets dany’s dragons ??¿ explore darkside dany??¿*-* you’re one of my favorite writers, i love all your work!! 💟 hope you have a lovely day.
thank you so much! this was? super fun?? to write so lol im down to do more. also on ao3!
She looks down coolly at him, her hands resting on the arms of her throne. He glares up in return, jaw and fists clenched.
“Tell me, Ser Kylo,” Daenerys Targaryen begins. “What need do I have for a knight with no banner?”
“I have a stronger claim than you know,” he says.
“The claim I am interested in is the one you forsake.” Daenerys leans back in her seat. “House Organa, I could have used. I’ve no use for upstart dynasties.”
“And ships?” He says, gesturing around the halls of white stone. “Or are you flying your armies to Westeros, your Grace?”
Her eyes narrow. “Speak. You’ve wasted enough of my time.”
Kylo starts to pace, only pausing to look at her in anger. “The First Order of the Knights of Ren has the ships. You have the dragons. Awakening this force could-”
“I can find ships,” she cuts in. Her head tilts to the side. “You’ll have a harder time finding dragons.”
His nostrils flare and he knows his throat is working. This is a card he hadn’t wanted to play, but the Knights of Ren are devoted to R’hllor, and they’re stupid enough to believe the woman before him is who they were promised. But Kylo knows better. She’s not the one.
All he needs is her dragons, and he’ll prove it.
“And a Skywalker?” He says coldly. “Have you found one of those?”
Daenerys’ eyes widen, and she turns to look down at one of her advisors. The man with thinning red hair shakes his head, before he faces Kylo.
“The Skywalker line ended with the death of their last liege Lord.”
“Luke,” he bites out. “Was not the last.”
Kylo steps forward, one of his black boots breaking the endless white of her stone throne. The man with red hair steps forward, as does another with a half-beard and the gait of the assassin. Kylo wraps his fingers around the hilt of his longsword, silently goading them to move.
“Naboo is the second-largest kingdom in Westeros,” Kylo presses, a frantic edge to his words–but it’s from anger, not desperation. “Has lands as fertile as the Reach. Varykino sits empty.” He shoots the assassin a wild glare when he takes a half-step closer and, wisely, the man stills his movement. “Tell me, your Grace, what matters more in war–the gold of House Organa or food for soldiers?”
Daenerys’ expression softens, but not by much–irritation merely gives way to contemplation. After a moment, she stands and descends a few stairs, dismissing her men with a wave of her hand as she moves closer to him. Neither man looks happy about it.
“Naboo may be missing a liege lord, but it still has skeleton armies who hold it in the name of House Palpatine,” she says levelly. Violet eyes meet brown as she stops a few steps before him. “What do you propose to do with them?”
“My Knights will take it.”
Daenerys scoffs at that. “One hundred knights against the army of an entire kingdom?” She scowls when she meets his gaze again. “You had my attention for a moment, Ser Kylo. But it’s clear we are done here.”
“Two hundred knights.” Kylo straightens, towering over her despite being at the lower ground. “And I’ll bring you the head of their commander.”
“You are a confident man or a fool.” Her posture straightens, refusing to be cowed by his stature. “Fine. Bring me Sheev Palpatine’s head and then–only then–will I broker terms for an alliance.”
“You’ll regret doubting me.”
“We’ll see.”
He stands over her for another breath. Two. Something stirs in his chest, and it makes him sneer before he pivots. As Kylo makes to leave, no one stops him. But he hears the Mother of Dragons’ voice carry behind him.
“Ser Kylo?”
He doesn’t turn around, but he stills, shoulders hunched.
“Don’t return unless there’s something to barter with.”
The doors fly open as he leaves.
Three months later, he throws a burlap sack on the ground before her throne. The head within, now nothing but bones, makes a sick, cracking sound.
Kylo’s red-rimmed eyes flicker up. Daenerys sits, beautiful and composed as ever, but there is blatant interest in her expression now.
His voice is hollow and cold, but determined.
“My alliance, your Grace?”
Slowly, Daenerys’ lips curl into a smile.

So, remember when I said I'll make Azrael as a Hollow Knight character too?
Tumblr media
How do you like the fluffy Azrael moth? I think he turned out cute :3
It's on, I'll probably make a few more. If you have any suggestions who should go next, I'm open 😊
Ask box is open and I don't know who I want to draw so by all means, go ahead.

Here he is!
Fellow Darksiders and Hollow Knight fans, may I present to you:
Ulthane of the Mosskin Tribe.
Tumblr media
It's hastily done but I'm still happy with how it turned out :)
Spoilers under the cut.
Ulthane used to be a skilled craftsman and an ambassador from his tribe at the White Palace, one of Azrael's close friends. (My headcanon is that when Mosskin grow older, their ruff amd antennae change color. Like leaves in autumn)
When the Infection began destroying Hallownest, he returned to Greenpath to help protect his brethren, especially because he didn't approve of the Pale King's utilization of Void. Unfortunately, he was soon forced to leave when the disease started to attack Mosskin as well.
He then heard from Azrael, who knew from the Royal pair, that the Pale King has done fucked-up (tossing eggs into the Abyss thing). Ulthane was disturbed by it and without telling anyone (aside from his two friends) he decided to rescue as many vessels as possible. The Pale King messed up? Now he's their dad :3
After quite a few failures, he'd managed to get six but one of them (aka Ghost) decided to leave Hallownest. Ulthane organized a safe place for the vessels to stay in. He forged each a nail and taught them how to defend themselves.
But then came the Destroyer (formerly his friend, mind you), the vanquisher of all fun alongside a group of other Infected, and the vessels were forced to run and scatter. Those who played the game know the fate that had befallen Ulthane's small friends. Azrael's disappearance didn't make him cope better. If you ever encounter a lone, disgruntled Mosskin on your journey, be forgiving. He's been through a lot.

Like @wonemoment and later @moonlightblade91 suggested, I give you butterfly Uriel :D
Tumblr media
I decided to do her because I didn't have a good idea for Ulthane or one of the 7 yet.
The looks were inspired by Songstress Marissa (she had hair so I figured why not).
Suggestions are still being accepted :)
I'll have to write something about it eventually. Maybe at least the short stories to each character or backstory summarized.

Since no one voiced their preferences, the next character on my list is Vulgrim (I'm still open to suggestions as to the next person) This one actually comes with a bit of backstory for him to make things a little clearer.
Tumblr media
Oh! Btw. The following content might contain mild SPOILERS for the Hollow Knight game.
Ever since he hatched, Vulgrim never possessed major physical strength and couldn't hunt as well as his siblings. In a family of ruthless predators he was not only an inconvenience but also a potential target. The weakest served as nourishment to the strongest. That's how it always has been.
However, Vulgrim had compensated for his lack of strength with something else. Cunning and unusual for his species intelligence which was a result of one of the raids on the nest when he was still inside an egg. There was a powerful spellcaster among the attackers and in an accident a large amount of soul magic was infused with the egg, resulting in the hatchling's increased intellect and development of complex personality.
The moment he realised it's only the matter of time before he becomes dinner for his brothers and sisters, he left the nest to search for his luck elsewhere, far away from home, even before his weak-willed family started to succumb to the Infection. That event made him the last unaffected of his kind.
For some time he was mostly scavenging the Waterways for food or hunting docile creatures which were no threat to him and learning to harness the soul magic. Until a guard patrol discovered him. Vulgrim was always curious about the bugs his family normally hunted and this was a perfect opportunity to blend into their society. The oblivious guards saw nothing more than a dirty, scrawny orphan in him.
Later, the little devil-spawn was adopted by a hapless merchant. The bug told Vulgrim everything about this profession and taught him the art of speech craft. With his innate talent for deception and his cunning, Vulgrim quickly mastered his newfound abilities and when his caretaker was consumed by the Old Light he took over the business and left.
That was the way he liked living. Selling stuff he found to random people, haggling and always moving, not stuck underground in darkness (even though the light hurt a little at first).
Honestly, he sometimes charges ridiculous amounts of Geo for handmade charms, scavenged goods and other things but he has one weakness. The rare Lifeblood. For a couple of living seeds, he wil show the most valuable merchandise to the provider without hesitation. And then probably ask for more cuz he's a greedy bastard XD
Bonus!
In case Hollow Knight players hadn't caught the hints I dropped, here's another shot of Vulgrim. I think it's self explanatory.

I'm still alive!
I know I haven't been very active lately but:
First of all, I was studying for that god forsaken exam I failed (i did it, thank Christ) XD
Second, I've been playing a lot of Hollow Knight. Like... a lot.
And I remembered that one post which was Four Horsemen as Hollow Knight characters (here it is) and so I did a little something.
Tumblr media
I tried to make it obvious who it is. I don't think it needs explanation. Unless you want some. DM me, or send an ask to get more details.
Also... This guy. This fucking GUY.
Tumblr media
HNGHH, I love him, he's probably evil but I still love him 😍😍😍
P.S. I drew Ghost and Grimm together but if anyone tags this as ship I'm gonna unleash my fury upon them and slam the block button hard enough to destroy my phone
