So… In Stars and Time other character Loop AUs?
i haven't actually thought of any of these myself, i just saw your post and agreed that i believe everyone would act differently from siffrin in the loops, and if they had their own stories/games based on it i think the cutscenes would be different
i do like the redraws replacing siffrin (i think the art is very well done and is great style emulation. i am too shy to interact with posts a vast majority of the time and i highly doubt any of those people will see this but if you do, i love all of your arts). i see it more as a fun thing than anything
i don't have any solid ideas (though your mirabelle analysis did get me thinking. i think that is a really really good idea and a good interpretation of her character) but i have stray thoughts
- since siffrin is the only one who knows wishcraft (accidentally) it could be their wish that traps someone else. like they had a talk in dormont/before dormont and siffrin, wanting to be selfless, uses his wish on their friend
- would the king take interest in the others before siffrin? likely not before discovering the use of timecraft
- the self indulgent but not sure if accurate thing i would do for this au if i had it is a mdp-style scene (though likely not the same name, as siffrin is the one most plagued with homesickness). especially for mirabelle or isabeau since they also struggle with self doubt and believe they are assuming the intentions of their friends (especially mirabelle)
- i think youu said it. or i heard it elsewhere. loop would be nicer to everyone that wasn't siffrin but probably still uncomfortable talking to them at first. but i think as loop got more comfortable they might take stabs at siffrin, especially if they realize it could have only been his wish
- isabeau going from mostly support moves to mostly attack moves would be kinda scary

realizing thistle never actually reached the maturation point for an elf is so. eye opening. especially bc he actually witnessed both delgal's birth and the birth of delgal's son (AND HIS GRANDSON!!). as a human reader it's so easy to be lulled into thinking he's so old and marcille's remark of him being a child came so fast it's so easily forgotten
like i definitely think the golden kingdom and delgal himself never knew let alone be able to perceive thistle as an immature person. bc in their years he's just so old. and i think growing up surrounded with all tallmen also gave thistle false perceptions of how mature he was and it played a part in him taking on the responsibility of rejecting death for the whole kingdom. it's a brilliant and raw display of what age discrepancy actually means in the world of dungeon meshi

Scavengers Reign finale spoilers ahead:
There's something about the way Levi was the solution to Hollow, like... Kamen and the creature were in this feedback loop, right, making each other worse, isolated and focused only on each other. I was so unclear about Hollow's behavior and possible "motives" as it grew -- it wasn't behaving like an animal filling a niche in an ecosystem, but it didn't seem to have goals that made sentient sense either -- until I realized the extent to which their psychic bond went both ways. And nowhere was that more breathtakingly clear than when it found Fiona's body, looked at her with what seemed to be deep and genuine sorrow, then laid down beside her. Who knows if it would ever have moved again if she hadn't been destroyed. Like. This was a creature initially in tune and connected with its surroundings -- we see how the other members of its species go about their business -- until it enthralled Kamen and the two of them started feeding this circular obsession with themselves and Fiona, to the point that Hollow left its forest and trekked a vast distance to an alien hunk of metal that offered no sustenance, to go sit alone with a corpse. Completely disconnected from its home and the life on this planet.
And then. And then what breaks it, what boils away the monster, is this massive connection. Levi's deep and profound connection with the vast network of living things all over the planet, all intertwined -- it utterly overwhelms Hollow and Kamen, peels the creature down to a version of itself no longer bloated with the completely self-referential miasma it and Kamen had fostered in the closed system of their psyches.
And it gets another chance! That new little creature gets to go back and become a part of things again -- and so does Kamen. When we see him gently releasing that little green animal into the vibrant forest... That's the least selfish thing we've seen him do in the entire show. It's quite possibly the least selfish thing he's done in years. It's a step outside of himself, finally.
And I think it's interesting that the crucial moment was when the creature tried to enthrall Levi; it tried to suck Levi in the same way it did Kamen but Levi utterly RATIO-ED it through the awesome power of already BEING connected to a degree infinitely greater than the link Hollow was offering. Hollow couldn't contain all that; its capacity was too small. just. MAN!!!!

I swear, the Pale King just organized a conveyor belt for the production of minions from the void and delegated his duties to them
Tumblr media
In my understanding, Lurien and the Collector were the two most reasonable specimens, so the King made them work. For free, of course, only out of a sense of love for its creator. And less autonomous samples became his kingsmoulds
Lurien was obviously entrusted with overseeing the City of Tears, but I think the situation is more interesting with the Collector
I think the King originally appointed him as a scientist who was supposed to study the effects and consequences of contact of living beings with the void. Is it possible to defeat the infection in this way or reduce its impact? It would be easy for him, since he himself is from the void
After all, he has his own tower with a study. But to be honest, the Tower of Love reminds me of one big room with soft walls for a madman, and it stands literally on the very edge of the city, isolated from it. I think the king initially saw that the Collector was not quite adequate, but he needed research, so he simply provided him with a tower with access to the Edge of the Kingdom so that he could catch unreasonable beetles there for research, and not cause problems in the city
The bug with the void flowing out of its eyes, in which we find the key to the tower, thinks that they have been together with someone for too long, and have become one. I think it was one of the assistants or workers in the tower who escaped when the influence of the void on the inhabitants of the tower became obviously detrimental. He locked the Collector up and took the key with him so that he could no longer "protect" everything he could reach
