“Day by day, in every way, I am getting better and better,” was an affirmation coined by Emile Coué, a hypnotist during the early 1900’s. Believing everyone was a slave to suggestion, he proposed that by replacing lifelong negative ones with positive ones we could change our lives! Realizing everything begins in the mind, Emile Coué had his clients use this simple autosuggestion throughout the day, and they improved. If you have never tried autosuggestion, affirmations or even mantras, here’s your chance. Try this simple one throughout the day, plus when any negative suggestions hit you. See what happens, and don’t be surprised when the whole vibe of your day changes for the better! Emile Coué proved that ideas planted in the mind become real. In my training as a Certified Hypnotherapist, I consistently encountered information about how fascinating a tool our unconscious can be if we would only partner with it and utilize it for ourselves! I use what I have learned every day in my life, my relationships, my writing, upon myself and now as a Holistic Health Coach. Does that mean I will hypnotize you to drop dairy and eating animals? Fear not, it’s a well-known scientific fact that you cannot be hypnotized to do anything you don’t really want to do. Those Stage Hypnotist events are filled with people just waiting to perform crazy antics! The bottom line is that your unconscious is a very powerful tool that you don’t have to even buy! It is just waiting to be partnered with and to assist you in accomplishing all that you want. So it is important to watch your words and thinking. Because it IS about what you are saying to yourself and what you are absorbing that other people are saying. Ultimately, you can choose to ride in coach with everyone else inhaling what is suggested, OR you can choose to co-pilot with your own unconscious and reach amazing heights! https://www.instagram.com/p/CmwiNLPOpW5/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Confessions of a Health Coach Next month I’ll be celebrating 14 years as a certified coach. Like a lot of you, I’ve gone through some pretty big changes over the last two years and its caused me to do a lot of thinking about my life especially my approach to health and wellness. I’ve come to realize that the cause of my personal struggles with body image and weight have been rooted in a lack of self-esteem and unworthiness. Not because I wasn’t following the right meal plan or exercise program. Now I understand that diet culture has played a huge part in perpetuating the idea that I’m not good enough unless I fit some predetermined standard for an acceptable body shape or size. After spending some time learning more about the impact diet culture has had on all of us, women in particular, (a special thank you @stephaniedodier), I’ve come to understand that for my own sanity, I can no longer continue to participate in diet culture, not for myself or on behalf of my clients. In honor of world mental health day, and for my own good, I’m finally breaking up with my diet and over the next few months I’ll be detoxifying from diet culture. I hope you’ll join me. Stay tuned for what comes next. #worldmentalhealthday, #nationalmentalhealthday, #healthcoachconfession, #chronicdieting, #eatingpsychology, #healthcoach, #intuitiveeating, #mindfuleating, #antidiethealthcoach, #mindbodyeatingcoach, #holistihealthcoach, #bodyimagecoach, #bodyacceptance (at San Francisco, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/CU3MAJWvYSa/?utm_medium=tumblr
